Umm . . . Not so sure about this, but it's something. Right?

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ Liz ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

“Liz, just get me out of here. I’ll answer all your questions later. Okay?” I hear his muffled reply from the other side of the door.
“Umm. Okay.” I try to push against the dresser sitting in front of the closet. I push and it didn’t work. The dresser didn’t move. “Kyle, I can’t move the dresser. I’m going to get one of the guys, okay? I’ll be right back. Don’t move.”
“That’s not a problem, Liz.”
“Oh, right.”
“Liz! Just get me out, okay?!”
“Okay,” I whisper, more for myself than for him. I rush down the hall and head toward the kitchen. Hopefully Max and Alex are still there. “Guys!” I run down the stairs and almost run right into Max in the process of stopping. “Oh, uh, hi. Again.”
“Lizzybeth? What’s wrong?” Alex asks as look away from Max.
“It’s Kyle. He needs help getting out of the closet.”
Max and Alex give me this look, while Michael looks like he’s struggling not to laugh.
“No. It’s not that. He’s literally stuck inside the closet. The dresser’s in front of the door. I can’t move it.”

Suddenly, we hear footsteps running down the stairs and in the next second, Liz is crashing into Max and they both share an embarrassed look ... too cute.
When I ask her what's up, I thought everyone in this house has lost it when Liz replies, “It’s Kyle. He needs help getting out of the closet.”When Max and I give her unbelieving looks, she obviously catches on the double meaning and quickly explains that Kyle is really stuck in a closet. Turning to Michael, I shake my head. "You trapped him in the closet? Oh man, that was sneaky and I really don't want to know how he woke you up."
Or maybe I should ask or next time i'm the one in the closet.
God, I wonder what would have happened if I made a gay comment towards Kyle!
"Max," I hear myself say, "why don't you go and help Liz?" Wow, my matchmaker genes are on strike and both Liz and Max look at me with a mixture of shock, joy and anger. Uh oh!
"After all, you are probably stronger than me and who knows what Michael might do to Kyle." I quickly add, smiling nervously.
Michael looks at me with a "who me?" look before smirking one last time at the other two and sitting down at the table.
"Max, Liz?" I call after the two when they leave. "Could ya look where the other's are hiding?"
okay, hope you are okay with the post and isabelle, you can decide how much time passed
till Liz came, so that maybe Michael could answer my question or not

This is so great. They both fell for it. Thinking Kyle might be gay. Who knew that telling the truth could be so much fun?
But then the nerdy guy starts to babble about how much he wants to go to work. Well, actually, I like working in the art department, too. Althought it would be better if my boss had a little more vision. I shrug. Not gonna talk about that.
"Uh Michael, I know this is totally off topic but ... uh, I heard what you told the girls when we introduced each other and .. I wondered ... hm, did you ever get a positive reaction to the 'You'll be screaming my name tonight' line?"
"You looking for dating tips, Whitman?" I ask. It's true, I haven't actually had a woman fall into my arms at that comment, but some have ended up there before the end of the night. At least at home where the girls appreciate a good thing like me. I shrug.
Suddenly, Liz arrives and tells the guys that Kyle is stuck in the closet. It's all I can do not to burst out laughing. Alex glares at me and sends Max to go rescue Kyle. I shrug it off and sit down with my coffee. This morning, I am the man.

I move towards the door as I hear someone coming and Liz nearly runs into me. She so amazingly adorable. I just smile, stupidly, as she explains the problem to us. Kyle is actually blocked inside a closet. I glance at Michael, who looks like he's about to burst. Obviously, he's the one responsible.
"Max, why don't you go and help Liz?" Alex suggests. "After all, you are probably stronger than me and who knows what Michael might do to Kyle." he says.
I smile at Liz. "Happy to help," I tell her. Liz smiles in appreciatation. "Okay. Come on," she says, heading back out into the hallway.
As I follow her, I hear Alex call out, "Max, Liz? Could ya look where the other's are hiding?" One thing at a time, I think.
I hurry after Liz into Michael's room. Immediately, I see the dresser pushed in front of the closet. "Kyle, I'm back," Liz calls out.
There's a sound of movement in the closet and then Kyle's voice. "Good. Get me out of here!"
"Relax, Kyle," I assure him. "We'll have you out in a minute." I put my hands on the dresser and brace myself against the floor. Liz comes up next to me, threading her arms around mine so she can get a hold on the dresser, too. I don't think I need the help, but it's nice to feel her so close to me. I give it a good shove and the dresser moves. With two more steps, the door is clear.
"Okay, Kyle. All clear," I tell him, as Liz opens the door.
"Thanks, Liz. Max," he says stepping out and looking around. He seems to be dressed and ready, just a little rumpled. He puts his arm around Liz for a moment, giving her a gentle squeeze. I bit my lip, trying to suppress my jealousy.
"We're leaving in about a half hour, Kyle. Coffee's in the kitchen," I tell him. Then add, "Although Michael is there, too. What did you do to get blocked in there?"
"I was just waking him up," Kyle says.
"Oh yeah?" Liz says, suspecting there's more to the story.
"Well, okay. I dumped water on him when he wouldn't get out of bed," Kyle admits. "But ..."
I have to laugh out loud at that. "Maybe you'll have to find a better way to escape him tomorrow."

great parts
ALEX
After Max and Liz left, I turn back to Michael who is still grinning.
"That was a good one, you really got us there and ... I don't think I'll be trying to wake you up anymore." I tell him laughing.
"Good, you are learning." Michael answers, looking like a very content man. "SO, wanna have dating advice? I'd be willing to let you know part of my wisdom."
"Uh, no thanks. No offense against your tactics but ... no, they surely wouldn't work for me." I reply grinning. Michael might be a bit gruff on the outside but I think I'll get along with him.
"How was the clubbing with maria last night?" I ask to pass the time. I wonder if Isabel will have calmed down a bit when she returns.

I laugh as Max tells Kyle it would be better to choose a different way to wake Kyle up in the morning. “That would probably be a good idea.”
“Yeah, well, It seemed like a good idea at the time,” Kyle said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Did you say there was coffee downstairs?”
“Oh. Yeah. What’s left of it, at least,” Max informs.
The talk of coffee reminds me of the cup I have sitting on the nightstand. I walk over to retrieve it as Max and Kyle continue the short conversation.
“Then I better hurry up and get downstairs before there’s nothing.”
“Michael’s down there,” I tell Kyle. “Don’t do anything,” I implore.
He doesn’t say anything, but he does leave the room.
“Kyle?”
“Coffee, Liz.” That’s all he says before I hear the sound of him jogging down the stairs.
I smile lightly and brush my hair back before taking a sip of my coffee. He better not do anything too drastic. At least both he and Michael were finding the humor in the situation. Michael got a rude awakening, and Kyle got blocked into a closet. It all ended well though. Right?

I scoff as Alex refuses my dating tips. He shouldn't be so quick to say no. I haven't seen him with any of the ladies of the house yet.
Okay, okay. So I haven't got one yet, either. But I got Candy, if I can find her again. And I'm sure I'll have one of these blonde beauties before the week is out. They won't be able to resist me much longer, I'm sure. Maybe I'll even get that Tess right from under Max's arm. That would be sweet.
I smile at that thought, losing myself in anticipation and I almost miss Alex's next comment. Or, I guess it's a question. Clubbing with Maria? "Oh, it was great, Alex. You missed out on a great time hanging here with the home-movie crowd," I tell him. Okay, so it was a bust. I never saw Candy and I was never sure if I was with Maria or just with her. But I don't need to tell Alex that.
"The home crowd wasn't that bad," Alex says, but I know he's got to be jealous. How good could it have been? A bad night out is better than a good night at home, any day.
"Whatever you say, Man," I tell him, rolling my eyes.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
*MAX*
I chuckle to myself as Kyle darts downstairs to find some coffee and hopefully dodge Michael. I turn to Liz who's standing there, smiling as she takes another sip of coffee.
"Well," I say. "I believe Alex asked us to find the other missing members of our crew. That would be Tess and Maria."
"Oh, right. Maria," Liz says. "I was going to ask her for a ride this morning."
I nod, remembering. "Yeah. But Isabel said she was going shopping with Maria after work, so she wanted Maria to ride with her." I shrug my shoulders. "I'm sure it will all work out. Let's go see if they're ready to go so we can figure out what's going on."

the Michael part is even better the second time you read it!
ALEX
Michael seems "zoomed out" for a second before he answers my question and manages to also dismiss the home crowd as boring and lame. I'm pretty sure that he was one of the guys that used to beat me up in High School.
"Just because you never experienced a good time home, doesn't mean it can't be nice." I reply, earning myself a glare. Hmmm, I guess he'd even beat me up nowadays.
"Did you visit the same club we all did the first evening here, or did you go somewhere new?" I ask before we start arguing about what's better - staying home or going out.
"The same one." Michael replies shortly.
I'm not sure where M/M went, so if I'm wrong - sorry! Somehow, I have the feeling that I just insulted him.
He doesn't seem to be the talkactive type of guy but the silence is uncomfortable too.
"Sooo, did Maria mention some clubs that are playing more ... alternative music?" I ask after some seconds of silence, after all, Michael surely doesn't look like the Country Music type.

I look over and check my hair in the reflection of the microwave. I am looking good. I give Alex a condescending look that shows him he's not in my league at all.
"We didn't spend any time talking about bands," I tell him. "We were, uh, otherwise engaged." I raise my eyebrow, hoping he gets the picture I’m trying to imply. It might not be a true picture, but I got to get back my rep, here. I'm so glad he won't be able to see last night’s tapes until later. By then I'll have definitely made my mark with the ladies for real.
I just need to get them to stop looking at Max. There's got to be something I can do about that. I look at Alex thoughtfully. He did punch out Max yesterday. Maybe I can get his help in taking down the straw king.
"Uh. Okay," Alex says, pausing as he looks for something else to say.
"I'm sure we can ask her when she comes down," I suggest. Then I give him a long look before continuing. "Hey, Alex?" I ask. "Can I talk to you about what happened yesterday with Max?"

ALEX
If the night "with" Maria was so great as Michael claims it to be, then why didn't he go and wake her?
"Can I talk to you about what happened yesterday with Max?"
Uh Oh! I#m afraid that that would be the topic again. "Well, uh, there had been a misunderstanding between him and me about ... uh, well, ... one of the girls and I was ... a bit jealous and uh still down from my huge hangover ... so, I .. I just overreacted." I explain more or less poorly. "But we worked it out and he doesn't hold a grudge against me for which I'm really thankful." I add with a nervous smile.
"WHAT?" Michael asks in disbelief.
"Yeah." I nod ashamed. "I was surprised too that Max didn't want to hit me back or anything like that. He seems like a great guy."
Michael just stares at me with a look of pure ... shock, I guess. I mean, yes it is shocking that Max is so cool about what happened but I didn't expect Michael to so surprised. Okay, I really screwed up but ... god, I'm glad taht I didn't hit Michael. I don't think he'd have reacted as calm and cool as Max did.
"I guess you are as surprised as I about Max's behavior, huh?" I say after long moments of uncomfortable silence and the same disbelieving look from Michael.
Before Michael can answer, my cell phone rings. Casting an "I'm sorry" look to Michael and shrugging my shoulders, I take my cell and coffee and leave the kitchen.
"Hey Larry!" I greet my friend (being able to see who it is through caller ID.
"Alex! What's up in Miami, man?"
"Not much actually. I was drinking coffee with Michael and we are all just about to get to work and to probably go out in the evening again." I reply with a sigh.
"Yeah, I saw how your love life is going on." Larry replies with a laugh.
"You'll probably hate me but ... Jake is hot!
I just groan at that. I should have known that my only gay friend finds my arc nemesis hot. "Geez, thanks man. You really know how to make someone feel better in the morning."
"Just wanted to be honest. And truth to be told, Lonnie thinks he's hot too."
"Really?" I ask surprised. Guys like Jake never seemed to be my ex-girlfriend's type but at least it doesn't bother me anymore to hear that she likes other men.
"Is that your subtle way of telling me that I don't have a chance?"
"Hell no! We even know how you might be able to get Isabel." Larry replies.
"How?" I ask way too eager for my own liking.
"You should strip again!" I hear Larry laugh when I groan at this. Yes, I stripped one time in high school for Lonnie and she really liked it ... at least, the "reward" I got makes me believe that she did.
"That's not funny Larry!" Did I forget to mention that I stripped in front of half my high school? Imagine all the 'funny' nicknames I had afterwards!
"You know, Alex. That Michael guy is hot too ... and damn funny!
"Funny?" Funny and Michael? Really?
"Yeah, when he pretends to be The Stud and thinks he's a Casanova, I and the others have to laugh the whole time. And his hair is really ... weird, don't you think."
"Weird?" I echo, looking over at Michael. Okay, it is a bit unusual but weird ... well, maybe. "It's different." I finally agree, still watching Michael - or rather his hair. "Anyway I sadly have to end now, I can hear the others and I still have to finish a talk with Michael and then one with Max. Thanks for calling and greet the others from me?"
"Can I greet your male friends with a kiss? The cute ones, I mean."
"As long as they don#t blame me, you can greet them however you want to." I sigh.
"Yes! Bye, Alex and good luck with the lady." with that, Larry is off, as usual before you can say something witty back to him.
With a shrug, I go back to Michael who looks at me suspicously. "So, where were we?"
******
God, I didn't realize how long that part is!
and isabelle, I hope you don't mind me putting that phone call in but I had already written that before seeing your post

*MICHAEL*
I can’t believe this guy. Hitting Max in the face was the one good thing Alex has done since he got here, and now he’s disavowing it? All a mistake? Max is a great guy? When did I land on planet Max? Everyone around here seems to be in his fan club. Well, he’s not signing me on, that’s for sure.
Alex interrupts our conversation to talk to some friend named “Larry” on the phone. He keeps looking in my direction, too. What’s up with that? I run my fingers through my hair, renewing the spikes. Then I pour myself another cup of coffee. I notice there’s only a little more than one cup left. But this one should be enough to get me through to our departure time. Where is everyone, anyway? I wonder.
“So, where were we?” Alex asks as he gets off the phone at last.
I frown at that.
I was about to launch an anti-Max campaign but Alex bails before he’s even in. Is there nobody around who still sees the problem here? Before I can answer Alex, Kyle comes jogging into the kitchen. “Hey,” he says to nobody in particular as he heads straight for the coffee pot.
“Morning, Kyle,” Alex says.
“Mmmm,” Kyle nods over the top of his coffee cup. “Good coffee. Who made it?”
“Um. Max, I think,” Alex says.
“Great guy,” Kyle nods.
I stare at them both in amazement. This is so wrong. How can they both be liking him now? Just because he made a pot of coffee and he was too much of a wimp to hit Alex back? Don’t they see that he’s still stealing all the girls? Well, except Liz, I guess ‘cause she wasn’t like that over him. And Isabel, since she’s now hooked up with Jake. But there’s still Tess and Maria, right? Don’t these two want a chance at them, too?
“Yeah,” Alex says, giving me another weird look. “Liz told us what happened.”
“Guys,” I interrupt. “There’s something going on here that we need to discuss before Max and Liz get back.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
No problem on your post, Sternbetrachter.
I’m thinking Alex will assume Michael wants to talk about Liz’s upcoming birthday. Or maybe he’ll want to talk to Michael about locking Kyle in the closet. Up to you.
