I think I must have been feeling drowsy because I didn't hear Kivar come in to the bathroom but I smile when I feel his hands on my shoulders and I tilt my head back to get a better look at him.
"I'm sorry about before.I shouldn't have lost my temper like that but I can truely say that he is the one person I hate."

She smiles and tilts her head back to look at me and I place feathery kisses all over her neck and face. I stop when she says, "I'm sorry about before.I shouldn't have lost my temper like that but I can truely say that he is the one person I hate."

I sigh and sit back but still carress her with my hands and fingers. "I know Nickolas can be rough around the edges and sometimes he does act like a little rodent," I say chuckling. "But he has had a hard life, my pet. He is an orphan and doesn't understand love or trust or loyalty...much like I was when I was his age. He is young and impulsive and still has much to learn. I have gained his loyalty because I took him in when his parents died and he knows that his life in the palace is because of me. I have punished him and he has promised me that he will try harder for peace between the two of you. I am still hoping he will grow into the man I have always seen he could be."

My thoughts accuse me, however, because I know that I am responsible for the way he has become. I am his father and I allowed him to become this way...actually taught him how by example. I only hope that now that I am trying to change that he will follow that example now.

Picking up the wash-rag from in the bath water, I soap it up and say, "But let's not discuss Nickolas anymore. Let me help to relax you and take your mind off of earlier."

I listen to him defend Nicholas,somehting that Kivar does for no one else that I know off.I have punished him and he has promised me that he will try harder for peace between the two of you. I am still hoping he will grow into the man I have always seen he could be." If I didn't know any better it would seem like he cares for the weasel.

Why is that?What makes Nicholas so special when there are other members in the Council who are much better individuals?

"Fine...but let me tell you that he sent me black Orchids as a peace offering.That's how sincere he is in his apology." I reply grumpily and sit forward to give him better access to my back

I blink at that, pausing briefly in my movements. "What do black Orchids have to do with anything?" I ask, genuinely confused. "Are they not lovely flowers? Do they stink or something?" I know little about flowers with the exception of which ones are Lonnie's favorites.

We arrive at Liz's chambers and I knock on the door, smiling as I hear three distinct voices inside. They are silent the minute I knock. Finally, I hear Lizzie call out, "Come in!"

I open the door and lead the two young men inside. I nod at Maria. "Hello, Maria, you are looking well today." She thanks me and I turn back to the two men behind me. "These are the guards from Antar, Elizabeth. This is Max and Michael. I hope you all will get along well. Max, Michael, you have already met my son Alexander. This is my daughter Elizabeth and my niece Maria." I say, pointing out each of them. "If you will excuse me now, I'm due for a meeting in a few moments."

Wow! They're even more delicious up close! I nudge Liz slightly as if to say, "See, told you they were cute." I wait for one of them to say something or Alex maybe. Liz probably won't be the first to speak.

"What do black Orchids have to do with anything?" I can hear the confusion in his voice

I let out a tired sigh,"Kivar,those are the flowers people take to funerals." I say as I bring my knees up to my chest and wrap my arms around them,resting my forehead on my knees

I bite back a laugh. I let my hands run over her body behind the wash-rag. I admit that I'm trying to seduce my wife yet again. All this talk about Nickolas isn't helping though. "Well," I say finally, "Perhaps he didn't know that or if he did, maybe it was a symbol of burying the past. Do you want me to say something to him about it?" My hands dip lower in the water, carressing her lower back and the top of her buttocks.

Yeah right!Sure he wants to bury something,but it isn't the past...it's me!

I know what Kivar's trying to do.He's trying his best to distract me and I smile.Getting up out of the water I rinse off and dry myself,turning my head to the side lsightly to look at him,"Are you trying to seduce me?" I ask with a grin and reach for my robe

She gets up out of the water, startling me somewhat. She puts on her robe and asks with a smile, "Are you trying to seduce me?"

I stand up and go over to her, pulling her flush against me. "Of course I am!" I say a little playfully. "What can I say? I'm a man who has only recently rediscovered the joys of his wife. You're highly addictive, you know. It's really all your fault," I tell her nibbling on her ear.

I cant help but laugh feeling his hot breath on my cool skin,as he nibbles on my ear."What can I say? I'm a man who has only recently rediscovered the joys of his wife. You're highly addictive, you know. It's really all your fault,"

I let out an indignant gasp,"My fault!" gently I swat at his arms,giggling because I am feeling ticklish "Can I help it if I am so very desireable?" I ask jokingly and kiss his neck

"It's good to see you this way Kivar." I whisper in to his ear "Happy and light-hearted,you look like a young boy when you laugh."

"It's good to feel this way," I admit. Then I do something unexpected and sweep her off her feet and carry her back into the bedroom. "We have some time before we have to meet back up with Ava right?" I ask, dropping her gently onto the bed and grinning at her. I wiggle my eyebrows and the pain in my head starts to come back. I push it back, determined not to have to take another of those damn pills!
