From the look on Alex's face he's non too pleased to have his buddies jump out at him from behind his furniture,"Hey, how come that you still have a key? I thought you gave it back after helping me move in and ... what are you doing here anyway?" he asks them

That's the question I'm dying to ask myself!

"You knew about this!" he asks them again,his hand waving back and forth between him and me.When did he and I become a 'this'?
"Yeah,how did you know about Alex's makeover?I never told either of you about it?" I ask,putting my hands on my hips

My gaze wavers from Kyle and Michael for a moment and lands on Max who still looks perplexed,"Oh snap out of it Max...yes it's me Isabel and don't worry,I'm not going to force you to talk to me." I say impatiently

"Oh snap out of it Max...yes it's me Isabel and don't worry,I'm not going to force you to talk to me."

Oh this is fair. She's yelling at me! All I did was try to make sure our first meeting after ages wasnt in a club when I was trying to pull! Gees!

"Why wouldn't I be talking to you Isabel?" I state keeping my voice completely calm in a way I never do usually.

I look over to Alex. "Nice new look" I say with a slight nod but still in my calm tone.

I look round at everyone, "I'm gonna get some water...excuse me...."

I walk past Alex and into the kitchen. I take out a glass and fill it when all I really want to do is leg it. But I can't. Cos I have a feeling Isabel and the others would follow me. So I'll just have to pray my bleeper goes off...

Its not looking good.

Isabel

"Why wouldn't I be talking to you Isabel?" he asks calmly and I feel like strangling him
That's rich,coming from him!
"I'm gonna get some water...excuse me...."
"And there he goes." I mutter and turn to Alex "Alex,I think I better go.Give me a call sometime." I say and head for the front door

ALEX

I watch the exchange between the two silbings carefully, not wanting my living room to become a battle ground. Startled, I turn to Isabel when she announces to leave. Giving a glare at Michael and Kyle, I head after her, having a slight deja vu feeling since I also ran after her when she left the club.

"Isabel." I say softly as I reach the door which she is just abot to open. I speak softly so the guys won't hear me and also because it might help Isabel calm down.

"I know you are pissed at Max because he didn't call you since he moved here and you have every right to be but he told me he didn't want your reuninon to be in a loud bar." Shrugging, i add, "I know that's no excuse for not calling you earlier but ... please, don't run out on him like that. At least try to talk to him first and if he's an ass then ... run as far and long as you want. Please."

I watch with an open mouth as the whole plan goes to crap. I look at Michael and say, "Oops. That wasn't supposed to happen. Maybe I should go talk to Max."

I walk into the kitchen and see Max drinking water like he wishes it was something a little stronger. "Hey, man, what's your problem? This night was supposed to be about Alex, you know your friend. I don't know what issues you have with your sister but that didn't seem like the way, place or time to bring them up." He looks at me a little angrily and I hold up a hand to stop him. "I'm not saying you don't have a reason for your behavior out there but take it from an only child who barely has any family...you should clear whatever shit you have between you and your sister. Family is too important. If you're mad because Alex is with her, then you should remember that Alex is a good guy. He's not gonna hurt her. There are definitely worse guys she could be with..." I grin at him before adding, "Like me, for example," hoping to get him to lighten up and laugh.

Isabel

Alex stops me before I can open the front door,"I know you are pissed at Max because he didn't call you since he moved here and you have every right to be but he told me he didn't want your reuninon to be in a loud bar."

I breathe in deeply before replying,"You know something Alex,that doesn't make up for anything.So what if he didn't want our first meeting in years to be in a club...the fact is that we did meet but instead of talking to me he walked off,ignoring me like I was some stranger.That crosses out whatever good intentions he had about us not talking for the first time in years in a club."

"I know that's no excuse for not calling you earlier but ... please, don't run out on him like that. At least try to talk to him first and if he's an ass then ... run as far and long as you want. Please." he says trying to reason with me

"No...I will not talk to him.He's had two chances to talk to me but he choose to leave each time." I know I sound angry and I don't want Alex to think I am mad at him for anything so I try and speak a little more calmly "May be we can meet up for coffee in a few days and if you're busy,there's always Michael's demo,that should be fun."

I smile up at him and lean in to give him a quick peck on the cheek,"I had fun tonight though...at the salon." I turn away but turn back to face him just as quickly "Oh and by the way,you're looking really good Alex.Goodnight!"

ALEX

"No...I will not talk to him.He's had two chances to talk to me but he choose to leave each time."

I wish I could say anything but really, it is Isabel's decision so I have no right to say something.

"Well, maybe he's a bit in shock about you being here at my place. Max doesn't really bring women home just for coffee so ..." I trail of, knowing she'd get what I'm hinting at. Or at least hoping she does.

"May be we can meet up for coffee in a few days and if you're busy,there's always Michael's demo,that should be fun."

I grin at that. She wants to meet up again! "I'll call you tomorrow and we can decide then."

I'd only have to tilt my head slightly to fully kiss her but with Michael and Kyle watching, I don't want to.

"I had fun tonight though...at the salon. Oh and by the way,you're looking really good Alex.Goodnight!"

"Thanks." I say with a slight blush as she leaves. She enjoys running out on me way too much. "Drive carefully and I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

Maria and I exchange a look. Something is on Tess' mind. I lean forward and ask, "You know. You've seemed kind of preoccupied all night. Is something on your mind, Tess?" I take another mouthful of ice cream and wait for her answer. Why hasn't Max called again? Stop it! Gotta focus on the here and now.

I leave the kitchen waiting to see what Max will do and find Michael sitting on the couch, eating pizza. "You got the right idea, man. No need to let all this pizza go to waste." I see Alex and Isabel at the front door and then suddenly the door is opening and Isabel is starting to disappear behind it. I run over to the door. "Wait a minute! I have something I want to say before you take off, um, Isabel."

I hope she'll stop and listen for just a minute. This is something I should say to both of them.

"Drive carefully and I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" he says as I walk away down the driveway towards my car

Raising my hand in the air I wave without looking back,"You do that.Bye!"

Isabel must not have heard me. She's heading for her car when I dash out the door and stop her before she can get in. "Wait, Isabel!" I call a little louder. I jog to catch up to her and hold up a hand. "Wait a minute will ya? I got something I want to say!"
