I am still so very surprised when I come on here and still see this fic getting attention. I only wish I could live up to that and update as much as I should. I don't think I ever left a fic this long without an update before. Then again, I would just be going to school so I had more time to write. Now I go to work and go to school in the evenings.

Oh well enough excuses, on with the new part.
Thanks for all the bumps and encouragement. I need a little butt kicking from you guys some times lol

Part 40

Rath and Lonnie stood apart from the group looking out towards the direction Marlok's crew had gone.

"That's toward Oyenir," Rath said.
"That where you from?" Lonnie asked, inching just a little bit closer.

"Nah. I'm about ten miles south." Rath said with a tinge of regret. "been a long time since I seen home."

"You got family there?"
"Think so."

Lonnie looked over at the others and then back at the melancholy Rath.
"Let's go see," She said.
"Yeah, like they'd let us," Rath replied looking over at Max and Liz.

"Since when does that stop you?" Lonnie said, grinning up at him. Rath grinned back and nodded.

"Yo duke," Rath called out to Max. Max looked over. "Gonna go take a shit over there," Rath said pointing off to his left. Max merely nodded and grimaced. "Come on," he said to Lonnie and took her hand.

"He needs company to shit?" Maria frowned.
"You don't know Rath," Michael replied.

Maria looked away from his playful smile. The last couple of days she'd spent it avoiding him. Part of it was because his fawning was disgusting her, and another part was due to the fact that she was afraid of jumping him in some dark corner of the ship.

She looked down to see the long brown hair she'd created for that day began to change to its usual light red and its curls began spring. She frowned wondering why she wasn't able to hold any other shape than her own lately.

"Got tired of the brown?" Michael asked as he observed the transformation.
"Uh, sure," She replied.

~*~

Rath and Lonnie ran through the foliage as it grew more sparse until it cleared completely.

They reached Oyenir but tried their best to keep as far abreast of it as they could. Lonnie let go of Rath's hand to race on ahead of him. Rath grinned and took up the challenge.

Their legs pumped mercilessly, and even though they were both tired and their energy almost drained they kept up the same pace until they were just outside Rath's home village.

"Which?" Lonnie asked she doubled over trying to regain her breath. Rath was also taking in gulps of air.

He pointed off to the right but his hand wouldn't keep still enough to gauge a single location.

Lonnie straightened first and made to move forward but Rath's hand on her arms stopped her.

He shook his head and finally then stood straight, his breathing slightly less labored. Lonnie nodded and let him take the first steps toward his home.

They were others present, but none looked as threatening and as imposing as Rath did. They moved aside as he passed and gathered to question his identity.

Lonnie noticed that some already knew who he was and were informing the rest of his history.

She kept a few paces behind wanting to take in the village and its inhabitants. Rath was now standing in front of one of the more meager dwellings, but he would not move any closer.

Lonnie moved closer then, but still kept a respectful ways away.

When the door to the home opened an older man that Lonnie could recognize as Rath's father if not other close male relative.

The man leaned against the frame with his large arms crossed at his equally large chest. His hair hung in lazy waves down below his shoulders with streaks of silver raining down from his temples. the same tattoos that adorned Rath's arms were visible on the man's. A large black plug pierced the man's left ear and a beard covered his chin and cheeks.

Rath looked him in the eyes and moved to take a step forward but the man moved then, threateningly.
"I thought I told you never to come back here again," the deep voice laced with venom boomed.

Rath stopped his attempt to get closer and hung his head.
“Now I open my door and find you here,” The man waved his hand out, “I said never come back, not wait a couple a years and come back.”

Lonnie stepped closer but Rath saw her from the corner of his eye and growled “no.”
The man looked over at her then and smirked. “What’s this? Not only do you come back but you bring a bitch along?”

“Leave her out of this, pops,” Rath warns before Lonnie can verbalize a retort.
“You have no right calling me that. Not after letting her die,” The man shouted. The small crowd that had gathered at Rath’s arrival immediately began to disperse.

"She was sick and what do you do? Eh? You go off to play warrior like all these good for nothin' boys, cause ain't one of you a man," his father yelled.

"You were gone too," Rath shouted back.
"I was at war!" his father yelled, his face red with anger. "I was actually away at war protecting our borders. I had a reason. I didn't know she was sick. You were here, you knew. You let her die!"

The older man stopped to breathe and push the tears that Lonnie could see he was holding back away.

"I didn't know she was sick," Rath said. His own voice trembled and his fists that were clenched loosened. "I didn't know."

"You should have been there," his father said. "I left you in charge. You were supposed to be the man of the house. I come back, tired and sick, and I have to come home to a poor excuse for a warrior and a dead wife."

Lonnie gasped and looked over at Rath. She desperately wanted to do something, anything, but there was nothing she really could do.

"I'm sorry," Rath whispered.
"That ain't gonna bring her back now is it?" his father said. The older man sighed and walked back into his home, closing the door behind him.

Lonnie did go up to Rath then and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"She was sick," he said. "He's right. I shoulda been there. I could see it, but she never said nothin' so I didn't either. Then I come home one day and she's sitting in her favorite chair, just sittin there, eyes wide open like she was waiting for me to get home."

"What happened?" Lonnie asked.
"I don't know. Doc said it could have been weak lungs. That it looked like she couldn't breathe too good. I think she just died of worrying. Worrying 'bout pops coming home from the war, and 'bout me goin off."

"Let's go back," she said, noticing how the sun was beginning to go down. Rath nodded and let himself be led back the way they came.

~*~

Liz sat on a rock right across from Max. Aside from their first encounter on the ship, they had had little time alone, and now sitting there just a couple feet away was making her ache.

His body was facing hers but he was looking off at the horizon. The sun was beginning to make its descent in the sky and the forest was taking on a soft golden tinge.

"Do you miss it?" Liz asked, breaking the silence.
"Miss what?" Max asked looking over at her.
"Antar, your home. What's it like?"

Max sighed and looked back over at the horizon.
"I miss it in some ways, "he said. "I miss the safety I guess, at least at first. I miss my father, but he's no longer here. I miss not being so responsible for the lives of so many." he smiled sadly.

"I know what you mean. At first I didn't really think about the danger I was putting the people I picked out to be in my crew in. But after our first trip went horribly wrong, I learned. We lost one girl that day. The youngest in our crew who wanted nothing but to escape towards some adventure. We were careless and I learned then just what I was responsible for," Liz said.

Max nodded and stood up walking over to her. He kneeled down in front of her and took her hands.
"I've done a lot of foolish things, and I regret so much, but if all of that had to happen so I could be here with you, then I would not change a thing."

Liz felt her chest tighten and her eyes begin to water but she smiled.
"Do you really believe that?" she asked. "I know you mean it in the best way possible, and I know exactly how you feel, believe me. I have never felt like this before, but to say that you wouldn't change a thing....I mean we both have lost so much, and even recently. I care about you, I do, but if I could go back and prevent all the death that happened in order for us to meet, I would."

Max smiled then and squeezed her hands.
"That is what I admire most about you," he said. "I am foolish, I know. I take the past lightly and I should not. We have lost much, yes, but we have also gained. But you're right, we should never forget what it took for us to arrive where we are now. But I cannot regret the day I boarded your ship."

"I don't either," Liz said softly. She looked up at the Antarian and saw not some other-worldly alien, but a caring man. A man she could see herself falling for.

"Hey," Alex said as he walked up to the pair. He noted the way they both looked at him and stopped, "Uh, sorry, I was just going to say. I think it'll be a good idea if some of us returned to the ship. You know, be on alert in case we have to jet," he explained.

Max stood up and masked the look of desire on his face.
"I think you're right," Max said. "You should head back and just keep the ship on the ready. We never know what we'll have to do."

Alex nodded and headed back over towards Isabel.
"He said yeah," he told Isabel.
"Ok, let's go," She said as she pushed herself off the tree she was leaning against.
"Let's?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, me and you. We just really need two people to pilot the ship."

Alex shrugged and began to walk back to the ship with Isabel at his side. As they passed Kyle and Serena Kyle winked at them and Serena looked like she was trying not to laugh.

Alex shook his head and kept walking trying hard not to look over at Isabel every second.

~*~

Zan saw Rath and Lonnie coming out from the trees first. He noted how Rath kept his head down and how his arms hung limply at his sides.

"What is it?" Ava asked as Zan stiffened at his side.
"Bro?" Zan called over as soon as Rath was close enough. The other Antarian raised his head slowly and the look Zan saw was one he had never seen before, at least coming from Rath.

Lonnie led Rath over to Zan and Ava and went over to the arms of her friend. Ava held her and wondered what could have happened to have two of the strongest people she knew to look so downtrodden.

"You went didn't you?" Zan asked already knowing the answer. Rath nodded and looked away. "Why?"

"I...I wanted to see...him," Rath said brokenly. Zan shook his head and put a hand on Rath's shoulder, squeezing it.

Rath let out a shaky breath and looked over at Zan. This was his brother in everything but blood, though they had ended up with the other's blood on them in the past. He was the only other person he'd trusted enough to tell about his mother. So Zan knew what it meant to him to go back home.

"It's past right?" Zan said.
"I guess. Still...he's my pops, I was just a punk then."

"You still a punk," Zan said hoping to lighten the mood. Rath grinned slightly and pushed Zan away.
"You the punk," he said.

I was a little scared when I found this fic in the Dead and Buried section. I honestly didn't think I had neglected it for that long. But alas, I was bad and now I am back to ammend my evil, evil ways. I come back with an all new part. Thanks to those who have already left feedback.
Enjoy and many many thanks!!!

Part 41

It was getting darker now and those who remained in the forest huddled closer. Everyone was on alert, very aware that they were still being pursued. Max walked over to his second in command, Michael who was leaning against a tree.
"What do you think?" Max asked him.
"You already know Max. I don't like it. But you two seem to trust him, so I guess I have to too," Michael said and indicated to Liz.

"Liz trusts him, and I trust Liz." Max said.
"I know Max," Michael sighed. "I trust her too."
"What happened in there?" Max asked.

Michael looked directly into Max's eyes and then over at Liz who was sitting on a large rock.
"I don't know what they did to her, Max." Michael said. "We were all in the same cell, but after they separated us I don't know anything until she showed up in my cell and knocked me out." He said and reached to the still tender spot on the back of his head.

Max only nodded and looked back over at Liz who was nervously biting on her bottom lip. He had seen the condition Liz was in after the prison break. She still looked fragile.
"So you two finally hooked up," Michael said, surprising Max.
"What?"
"Antarians aren't known for discreet mating," Michael teased. "I heard you from my room."

Max looked away and blushed. Yes, he had spent the night with Liz, that one time, and then returned to his own room. She had looked at peace in his arms and all he had wanted to do was stay there and forget about everything.
"You really care about her, don't you?" Michael asked as his friend stared off.
"Yes. I do," Max said with a smile.

~*~

Liz rubbed her hands together trying to stop the itching in her palms. She was feeling anxious and just sitting there was making her more anxious.
"What's up?" Maria asked her.
"The waiting is driving me crazy," Liz said and stood up. "I have no idea what Marlok is doing and we're just here like sitting ducks."

"Yeah. We've had enough excitement without having to now sit and wait for, I don't even know what," Maria said. "Plus, Michael keeps staring at me and it's starting to freak me out."
Liz laughed at that and looked over at Michael who quickly looked away.

"I think he likes you," Liz told Maria.
"Well, tell him to stop," Maria said and crossed her arms. "I don't think now's the proper time to have feelings."

Liz frowned and looked at Max who did not look away. Was this something she should be pursuing? She suddenly felt an overwhelming warmth spread through her and she saw Max smiling. Was he doing this?
"What's wrong?" Maria asked.
"Nothing."

In the distance there was suddenly the sounds of explosions. Max ran over to Liz and stood beside her as the explosions increased.
"Do you think this is the signal Marlok was talking about?" Max asked. Liz shrugged.
"It's some kind of signal. I don't know if it's coming from Marlok or someone else."
Max nodded and closed his eyes. Liz looked at him and could see his eyes moving behind his closed lids.

"I've told Alex to start the ship and await further instructions," Max said. Everyone gathered closer and looked toward the direction where the noise was coming from.
"What about David?" Michael asked then. "We can't just leave him here."

"I know. We'll look for him. He couldn't have gotten too far. " Max said. He called Kyle and Rath and Zan over and told them to search the surrounding area. "He'll be weak," Max said. "There's not much wildlife here and I don't think he'd risk going into a populated area. Be careful, if he hasn't fed yet he'll be more dangerous now that the sun's down."

"I'm going too," Tess said as she pulled away from Eliza's grasp.
"No, he's too dangerous right now," Max said but he felt Liz's hand on his shoulder. He looked over at her and she shook her head.

"Let her go, she can be paired with Zan and Rath." Liz said.
Max looked over at Tess who looked like she'd go whether or not he said it was ok. He nodded and told Rath to stay with her.

"There was no point in telling her she couldn't go," Liz said as they went in search of David. "She would have gone off alone and then we'd have to go search for her too."
"The rest of us should head back to the ship, all of that should be attracting attention soon and we won't be able to stay here much longer." Max said. He reached his hand out to Liz and she took it smiling. "Well, Captain, what do you say?" he asked.

"I say let's get to the ship before all of Antar is on our ass again," she said and they headed towards the ship.

~*~

Zan kept looking over at Kyle as they searched for David. They had gotten Max's message to meet them at the ship once they had found David, and now it was just a matter of finding their wayward friend.
"What is it Zan?" Kyle asked.
"Huh?"

"You keep staring at me," Kyle said as they kept looking.
"It's just...I guess...I'm sorry for messing wit ya," Zan said apologetically.
"So now you have yourself a woman and you suddenly feel sorry for all you've done to me?"

Zan stopped, taken aback by Kyle's response. He looked over at the other man who was still looking for David and felt like a heel.
"I really am sorry, man. We really shouldn't of done any of that to you."

"Why me?" Kyle asked then. He turned around to face Zan and stared right at him. "There were plenty of other guys on board that ship you could have gone to. Rath was there. Max even, which I doubt would have happened. Anyone else. Why did you guys come to me?"
"You were an easy target," Zan admitted. "You never fought it."

"I couldn't. You know I can feel everything you all feel. You come into my room and I was overwhelmed that I couldn't stop even though I wanted to." Kyle said. "You guys were my brothers, my friends. It hurt that someone I trusted could use me like that."

Zan looked away not being able to stand the hurt in Kyle's eyes. He and Rath had both used their friend when the Heat would come to them. They never had any qualms about what gender they received release from, Antarians really had no preference. But Zan knew Kyle really had no choice when they came to him. It was the reason they always did go to him. He'd walk into Kyle's room late at night and assault him with his emotions until Kyle was just a mass of feelings.

"I know you're sorry," Kyle said. "It doesn’t really make up for those years though. Let's keep looking for David so we can get out of here,"

~

Rath was following Tess who was desperately rushing through the woods searching for David. He watched the petite blonde checking behind trees, rocks, any place David might be hiding.
"Would you try helping?" Tess called over her shoulder at him.

"Listen blondy, David was my friend long time before you came along," Rath said as he followed her. "No one asked ya to come,"

Tess stopped and spun around. She looked angry, so much so that Rath actually took a step back.
"Look we can stand here and argue about who knows him best, we can stand here while you bitch about me coming with you, we can even stand here and try to hold a pissing contest but that isn't really going to help us find David any faster, is it? Now I suggest you keep that hole on that thing you call a face shut and look for David," she said and went off ahead of him.

Rath shook his head in disbelief but followed her anyways. The sounds from the explosions continued in the distance. They searched inside bushes and any other hiding place David might have snuck to. Tess could feel the tears blurring her vision but she kept on. Her neck still stung where David had bitten her but that didn't matter now.

"Over here!" She heard Kyle yell from somewhere to her left and she ran toward his voice. She could hear Rath running behind her but she didn't stop until she saw Kyle.

Zan and Kyle had David cornered at tree. His shirt was mostly torn off and his face and chest were stained with blood. She could see the remains of some sort of animal, and she sighed in relief.

She pushed past Zan and Kyle, ignoring their warnings, and slowly walked up to David who looked everything like a threatened animal. He watched her approach him and sniffed in her direction. She was about a foot in front of him when she reached out and slapped him hard in the face. The men gasped but watched as David shook his head at the strike and then Tess holding him.

"Tess?" David said in a voice not wholly his own yet.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again you lousy blood sucker," Tess cried against his neck.
The rest watched as David brought his arms up to hold her as well and finally moved forward.
"We gotta go," Zan said. Tess pulled away and wiped at her eyes. David looked down at himself and attempted to wipe some of the blood off but gave up.

~*~

They made it back to the ship to find it already hovering the ground. Rath jumped up first and pulled Kyle up. Zan and Tess helped boost David on board and then Zan helped Tess in before jumping up himself.

"Ya planning on leaving without us?" Zan asked and he stood up. Ava sauntered up to him and kissed him shaking her head.
Max walked over to David who was panting and sweating now. They helped him into a chair and David looked wildly around him. Max placed his hands on David's head and made the other man look at him.

"David, do you know where you are?" he asked. David was shaking and looked over at Tess. Max followed David's gaze and called Tess over. "I need you to talk to him."
Tess nodded and kneeled in front of David. He looked at her and noticed the mark on neck. He closed his eyes and made a pained noise trying to move away from her.

"It's ok, it's ok," Tess cooed. "What do I do?" she asked Max.
"Just keep talking to him, I need to check him for injuries," he said and moved so he stood behind David. Tess touched David's face softly and he opened his eyes. She smiled up at him and brushed the hair back from his face. He felt cold and he was shivering. Tess caressed his face and spoke softly to him and Max scanned him.

Max's put his hand next to Tess' on David's head and closed his eyes. David's own eyes began to close until he stopped shaking and relaxed in the chair.
"What did you do to him?" Tess asked when she realized David was now asleep.

"I had to get him unconscious. He's not entirely stable right now. It's better if he rests," Max said. "He's not injured, he just needs more blood, and since we don't have any more of the artificial blood or animals for him, we can't risk having him awake on the ship right now."

"So you're just going to have him in a coma until when?" Tess asked.
"Until we can get him more blood without endangering anyone," Max replied.

Kyle helped Tess carry David over to their room and into bed. He strapped him down so David wouldn't fall off the bed.
"He's going to be ok," Kyle told Tess. She shrugged and used the sheet to wipe David's face and chest.

"You're helping," Kyle said. Tess looked at him with a sad smile. "I'm serious. He's still pretty out of it, but you're keeping him grounded."
"Really?" Tess asked. She reached for David's hand and held it. She felt him squeeze her hand and smiled.

"He knows you're there," Kyle said. He moved back, not wanting to impose on their time, and walked out of the room.

Serena was waiting for him in the hall, leaning against the wall. He smiled and walked over to her where he pulled her to him and laid his cheek on her shoulder.
"You ok?" She asked.
"I'm fine, just tired," he sighed

"You looked drained," she said when she pulled back to look at him, "You want me to give you a check up?"
He smiled but shook his head.
"I just need to rest. Join me?" He asked. She nodded and held his hand as they walked toward his room.

I'm back. I've been working my hardest trying to finish this fic, or at least get more written, and I am trying not to let too much time pass between updates.

Thanks for all the support and feedback!

Part 42

The itching in Liz's hands was getting worse. She looked down to see the redness of her palms where she scratched them and frowned. She would need to see Serena for some kind of lotion or ointment.

She was tired but her body hummed with its own anxious energy. She told Maria she was going to her room. As she walked toward her room she could feel Max following her. She didn't bother to look over her shoulder and when she walked into her room she left the door open for him.

"How are you feeling?" He asked when the door slid shut. She sat on the edge of the bed and looked up at him. Even when he looked worried, he exuded that raw confidence that was all him.

She looked down at her hands which continued to itch. She stood up again and walked toward the small sink at the end of her room. She turned on the water and scrubbed her hands thinking something was irritating them.

She dried them on her pants but she still found them itchy.
"My hands itch" she said out loud. Max went up to her and looked at her hands. He held them palm up and inspected them. They looked red and irritated.

"Would you like me to take care of them?" He asked her. Liz sighed and nodded.
Max placed his palms one hers and took a deep breath before focusing. He tried a gentle push but found resistance. He looked up at her and kept eye contact as he tried again. He could feel something pushing at his healing like a negative attraction. He could actually feel it resisting him.

He grabbed her hands and focused harder. He had never encountered anything like it before. He could feel his healing before blocked and suddenly he felt something else pushing out from Liz into him. He screamed and fell back as the jolt swept through him. He fell back onto the bed and held his hands to his chest.

"Oh god, Max are you ok?" Liz asked as she ran up to him. He opened his eyes and looked down at his hands and saw them blistered. He could still feel the energy coursing through him and his leg twitched slightly.

She placed her hands on either side of his face and he could feel the energy coming from her hands. "What's happening?" she asked.
He reached out and touched her face. Her whole body hummed.

"I can't heal you. Your energy is keeping me out and when I tried to force it, it pushed me back. It's still inside you. I think the itch in your hands is it trying to get out. "Max said.
He took her hands and sat up. He looked at her and saw the helplessness in her eyes. He felt useless.

"Come on, I have an idea," He said and stood up. They walked out of the room to see everyone watching them "What?" He asked.
"We heard you scream, what happened?" Michael asked.

"It was nothing," Max said walked past them with Liz following. They made it to the hatch where Max told Alex to open the hatch. "Ok, I want you to focus on that sapling over there," Max told Liz. "Now hold you right hand toward it and think about the energy flowing out of you, through your hand, and toward the sapling."

Liz looked at him like she couldn't believe what he was saying. She shrugged and held her hand out like he had instructed. She could feel the tension inside of her building and tried to focus it into her hand. She felt the itch in her hand increase and then screamed as a blue streak shot from her palm and hit the ground beside the sapling.

"How do you feel now?" Max asked and put his hands on her shoulders. Liz was shaking and turned around to face him. Her hand looked better.

"Better," Liz replied. "I just, wow. I've never felt anything like that before."
She looked over his shoulder to see the rest of the crew staring at her. She took a step forward but felt her legs give out. Max caught her and held her against his chest. "I'm just a little light headed," she said.

"Let's get you back to your room so you can rest." Max said.
They walked back to her room and Serena insisted she be allowed to look at Liz. Max stood beside the bed as Serena took Liz's vital signs. She ran down to the med lab and came back with a first aid kit. She listened to Liz's heart beat, inspected her hands which were back to normal, and even took some swabs from them.

"I want to take a blood sample," Serena told Liz.
"Why? You already did that before."
"I just want to see what else is happening to you internally." Serena said and waited until Liz nodded and pulled out the syringe and an empty test tube.

"Just relax," Serena told her and tied on the rubber tubing before feeling for a vein. She found on an inserted the needle and watched as the tube filled with Liz's blood. Liz frowned and looked away. "Ok, that's it," Serena said as she pulled the needle out and wiped the wound. She pulled off the tubing and let Liz bend her arm.

Serena grabbed the supplies and rushed out toward the med lab leaving Max and Liz alone.
"You really feel better?" he asked her. She nodded and laid down on the bed. "If you need anything, call for me. I'm going to be in the brig," Max said and stepped out.

She had closed her eyes, intent on sleeping, but she could hear them outside asking about her. She could hear Maria wanting to go inside but the others telling her to let her rest. The humming in her body had eased but she knew it was still there.

She wondered if it was going to be like that from now on. Would it build inside of her until she felt she would explode if it didn't come out?

She thought of Max. He had changed her when he save her life. The only thing now was figuring out if it was for better or worse. She rolled over and shook her head. It had to be for the better. She was alive after all.

She hugged the pillow to herself and brought back the image of Max. He was a constant presence in the back of her mind now, and bringing it forward was easy. She felt as if she were beside him and if she concentrated enough she could be inside him. She knew he was standing behind Alex, looking over his shoulder. She took the same position behind him, mentally, and she could have sworn she saw him smiled and look over at her. But of course she wasn't really there, was she?

She concentrated again and could actually look over Max's shoulder at Alex. Everything looked and felt blurred, like a dream, but at the same time it felt real. She reached out to see if she could touch Max and felt his left arm. Max looked down at his arm where she'd touched him and reached down to feel it himself. She could actually feel his fingers ghost over her hand.

She smiled and brought her hand up to the back of Max's head. She ran her hands through his scalp and looked up to see him smiling and closing his eyes. She could feel his hair as her fingers gently scratched his scalp. She could feel him leaning into her touch and leaned forward to place her lips against his cheek.

"Max? Max we're getting some kind of signal," Alex said, bringing Max back. Liz felt herself rushing back into her own body and jolted up in bed. Was it some kind of out of body experience? She felt Max tugging at her mentally and she made her way, physically, to the brig.

"What is it?" She asked when she stood beside Max. He gave her a knowing smile, but then pointed to the screen Alex was looking at.

"There's a signal coming at our ship. I don't know whether to accept it or not. " Alex said.
Liz looked down and gasped when she saw it.
"That's my father's transmission signal," Liz said.
"Uh, isn't he dead?" Alex asked in confusion.

"Yes. I mean that's his ship's signal. Answer it," Liz said anxiously.
There was static at first and then Marlok's face finally came into focus.
"What's going on Marlok?" Liz asked.
"I told you I had a plan Elizabeth," Marlok winked. "You need to leave now."

"What are you doing? I thought my father's ship was destroyed." Liz asked.
"Not quite. We hid it when we arrived in Antar. We were ambushed after that. We are creating a diversion, and now you must leave," Marlok said and their signal nearly went out.

"What's happening?"
Marlok looked over his shoulder and yelled something at his crew.
"We under attack," Marlok said. "We attracted the attention of the Guard to us."
"Why?" Liz asked and felt tears gathering in her eyes.

"You needed a way out, we have provided one. It's the least I could do Lil' Bit," Marlok said with a sad smile. "Now you listen to me. Get out now while they're distracted. They don't know you have that new ship. They're too busy with us to follow you,"

"We can help you!" Liz yelled.
"No, if you do anything other than leave right now, all of this would have been for nothing. Now don't you take this away from me or my men Liz. You get that ship out of here, now." Marlok said and shut down the signal.

Liz was crying freely by then. She could not believe her old her friend would sacrifice himself like that. Max reached over to comfort her and gave Alex the order to leave when he saw that she could not.

Alex nodded and brought the ship up above the trees. He switched on the shields and raced toward the sky.

I'm trying my best to stay current, so here's a brand spanking new part!!

Part 43

Max continued to hold Liz as they soared toward the atmosphere of Antar. He felt a great sense of respect for Marlok and his crew and hoped that they would make it out alive. But he knew they probably wouldn't. When they had successfully escaped the planet and were once more in open space he let out a sigh of relief.

"What now, boss?" Alex asked.
"We need to get as far away from here as possible," Max said and gently pulled back from Liz. He lifted her chin so she was looking at him, tears slowly running down her face. "What do you want to do?" he asked.

He wiped the tears with his thumb and waited for her answer. Liz looked over at their combined crew and looked at Maria.
"I think I'd like to stop by Earth," she said.
"Earth it is."

Alex nodded and set the coordinates for Earth.
"Mind if I cut in?" Maria asked from beside Max. He shook his head and allowed her to pull Liz toward her. "You ok?"

Liz shook her head and felt another wave of tears threatening to come out. "Wanna go lay down?" Maria asked and felt Liz nod. Maria led Liz away but could hear Max's footsteps following close behind.

When Maria helped Liz lay down on the bed she brought the blanket up over her and looked up at Max who was leaning against the door frame. "Maybe you could stay here and make sure she rests," Maria told him. He smiled appreciatively and moved closer to the bed. Maria sighed and left the room.

When Maria came out of Liz's chamber she found Michael waiting in the hallway.
"Why are you following me?" She asked.
"I'm not," he said and crossed his arms.
"Yes you are, and it's starting to freak me out." Maria said and started to head to her own room.

Michael followed her until she spun around, finger pointing at him. "See? You're following me,"
"Ok, so maybe I am. Is that so wrong?" he asked.

"Yes. Yes, it's wrong because I do not want you following me around like some kicked puppy. We fooled around, yes, I give you that, but that was it. I'm not looking for the googly eyed commitment that seems to be spreading on this ship. So back off," She said. Michael stood there, dumbfounded and watched as she went into her room.
"I do not look like a kicked puppy," he said from the other side of her door.

Maria sat down on the edge of her bed, shaking her head. This was not good. She actually felt bad about what had just happened. She could still see his face as she told him to back off. She hated feeling guilty so she got up and walked back to the door.

Michael was still standing outside, looking ever more like a kicked puppy. He sucked the pout he was sporting into his mouth and glared at her. "I do not look like a kicked puppy," he said again.
"Fine, you don't" Maria said, but thought to herself 'yes you do'.

She reached out and took his hand, pulling him into her room. He stood in the middle of the room, waiting.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Hop up," Maria said and gestured to the bed. Michael looked at the bed then back at her. Then he grinned before jumping onto the bed

~*~

Liz knew Max was on the bed with her, and that he was keeping his distance out of respect, but as she lay curled up like a fetus, blanket pulled up under her chin, she wished he would roll over and hold her. And, as if reading her thoughts, Max did just that.

His chest was pressed against her back and he had his chin resting on her shoulder.
"Did you know I wanted you to do that?" She asked.
"Yes," Max replied.
"Is it because of the connection?"
"Yes and no. I could feel you wanted comfort, but I also felt like I should, and I did."

Liz was satisfied with the answer and let him hold her as the last of the sobs tired her out and she fell asleep.

Max felt her breathing finally even out and moved back enough to move Liz so she now lay on her back. He looked down at her and gently wiped the last remains of her tears off her cheeks.

He could hardly believe how much he was feeling for her. He could say with confidence that he loved her

He knew he shouldn't but he couldn't stop himself from reaching to the sides of her head and focusing and opening the connection. It was instantaneous and disorienting as he was pulled into her dream. He recognized it as being Earth and in front of him stood an average sized human home.

He could see that the front door was open so he made his way to it. Inside he could smell cooking and hear the sounds of people. The pictures on the walls showed that it was Liz's home. He looked through the rooms looking for her and paused when he heard sound coming from one of the rooms. He gently pushed the door open and was shocked at what he found.

Liz looked about sixteen years old, and the boy with her didn't look much older. They were on the bed, under the sheets. Max fought back the pang of hurt and jealousy and simply stood transfixed. This was his Liz as a teenager.

The scene around him changed and he found himself sitting in a large storage area watching Liz working under a car. She was smeared with motor oil and grime, but she looked happy. She didn't look that much older than sixteen.

The scene changed again and Max was starting to regret coming into Liz's dreamscape. He was standing now outside the same home, this time watching as Liz found out about her father's death. In that instant he felt a rush of images of Jeff Parker from Liz' mind. He felt his chest constrict at Liz's sadness and made his presence known. The younger Liz turned to look at him and he watched as she transformed into her present self.
"Max?"

He walked up to her and pulled her into his arms letting her rest her head against his chest. "Are you really here?"
"Yes." he replied as he ran his hand down her back.
"You saw everything?" She asked nervously.
"Yes," he said equally nervous.
"You saw me with Jimmy?" She asked and pulled away to look up at him.

He nodded and felt his face flush at the reminder. He looked away and then felt a slap against his chest. He looked down in confusion. "That was private," she said. "You had no right to invade my mind like that."

Max stepped back, rubbing the area on his chest that she had assaulted.
"I didn't mean to," he offered weakly.
"You had some intention though, no? Why did you come into my dream?"

Max stood there in her dreamscape, looking down at her. Her arms were crossed over her chest and her frown made the bridge of her nose wrinkle. He shook his head when he looked around and found that they were now on Liz's old ship.

"Well?" She asked, still waiting for an answer.
"I don't know," he said. She was wearing what she had been wearing the first time he met her and the memories of that day hit him straight in the groin.

"Max?" Liz asked when she noticed the change in him. When his amber eyes slowly became black she gasped. His hands reached out and grabbed her arms. She knew that even if she woke up right now he would still be in heat.

She began to feel lightheaded and could feel the effects of the heat affecting her as well. His fingers were squeezing her arms tight enough to bruise but she didn't care.

Max looked determined as his hands slid up from her arms to her shoulders and pulled at the material of her top. Liz raised her arms over her head and felt Max pull her top up and off.

Goosebumps formed on her skin for a quick second before Max's warm hands were back on her. She hadn’t worn a bra that day and her nipples jutted to attention under Max’s gaze. His eyes were completely black by now.

Max was breathing heavily now and was making weak sounds of pleasure on his throat. Despite his incredible strength, Liz saw him as incredibly vulnerable right now, and only she could make it better.

She reached up and pulled at his own shirt, watching as he reached down and pulled it off himself. He felt so hot, so hard. It was a dream but it was real. Liz had a hard time decided whether or not she wanted to wake up.

In the room they were both laying on their sides, Max snuggled behind Liz, his hands under her shirt. Liz was grabbing onto her pillow, fisting the material in her hands as the pleasure from her dream seized her. Max was already thrusting against her.

Max was speaking Antarian, which Liz could somehow understand now.
“Granolith, you are perfect. Beautiful. Mine. I will make love to you forever until our bodies can no longer withstand it. You are mine and I am most definitely yours,” Max’s deep voice purred against her neck.

Dream Liz and hastily working on his pants, struggling to get them undone and off. Max’s own hands seemed to know just what to do. Instantly they were both naked.
“Wait, Oh god I want you for real. I want to see the real you not just a dream,” Liz begged as Max’s lips sucked on her neck. She pulled away from him and looked at the shock it caused him. “Follow me,” she said and began to fade.

Max groaned and pulled himself back into his own body which was still humping against Liz’s still clothed ass. He practically growled and turned her around, her sleepy eyes now drowsy with lust. Her eyes were as black as his and she clawed at his clothes as he pulled on hers. The both fought to remove their clothing until they were both nude, Max between her spread legs on top of her.

Max was talking quickly, passionately, begging for completion and Liz was all too ready to comply.
“Mark me,” She said. Her nails were digging into his back.
“What?” Max asked, shocked enough to stop what he was doing.
“Mark me, make me yours,” Liz begged.

Max shook his head forcing himself out of the Heat fog. He looked down at the totally disheveled Liz, at her swollen lips and glazed eyes. He wanted nothing but to mark her, completely own her, but the rational part of his brain yelled at him that it was only the Heat that was making Liz to ask for this.

“It’s not the heat Max, I want you I want this,” Liz said, but tears were flooding her eyes even as she spoke.
“Liz,” Max said gently and kissed her eyelids. Her naked body trembled under his. “I’d want nothing more than to mark you, but I don’t think it’s the right time.”
“But I want you so much,” She said.
“So do I,” he said. “I want you so much. I just don’t think you really want me to mark you, not like this.”

Liz began to cry again and clung to Max’s still nude body. She knew she should be embarrassed, that crying underneath a gorgeous male had to be a major taboo, but she couldn’t keep herself from crying. “Please don’t cry,” Max said and kissed her.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be crying. This is so stupid,” She said with a nervous laugh. “We’re both naked, in bed, and I’m crying like a doofus.”

Max chuckled and held her until the last of her tears stopped.
“You should rest. You’ve been through a lot today. I’ll hold you while you sleep and I promise not to eavesdrop into your dreams again.”

Liz smiled and kissed him before feeling him climb off and settle down beside her, pulling her against his chest. She felt safe and happy in his arms, and closed her eyes. He hummed softly and soon she was asleep with a smile on her face.

I know, I know. Spank me, pull my hair, pinch me, push me! Please?! LOL
I have been working my ass off trying to write more. I have been wracking my brain as to where the fic will be going next. So please forgive my absenses.

Part 44

Liz was the first to wake up. She opened her eyes to see the white sheet contrasting against Max's golden chest. She smiled and sat up looking for her blouse and pants.

She slipped back into her clothes and left Max sleeping. She could hear most of the crew in the control room so she walked toward it.

Inside she found Tess and Alex arguing while Isabel and Kyle stood behind them looking down at the screen.
"What's going on?" Liz asked as she walked up to them.

They all stopped talking and looked over at her as if she were a ghost. "Well?" she asked.
"We're trying to map a course out of here that should avoid any radar or signals that might detect us. As far as we know this ship has its own jamming system but we figured we could make it easier on us and avoid any risk of detection," Alex said.

"I say we just head up and out right now. This ship is excellent and the jamming and stealth system it contains are amazing. We could save a lot of time we don't really have and just jet out of here. If we do by some off chance get detected this ship is a heck of a lot faster than our old ship and its weapons' system is so far more advanced that we can pretty much just blast our way out," Tess supplied.

Liz looked at them and considered their options. She liked the idea of just escaping without being noticed but she did want to leave Antar as soon as possible. She looked up at Isabel and Kyle and asked them what they thought.

"Well," Kyle started, and looked over at the other three, "Well, I really want to leave this place fast. I'm all for just zooming out."

Isabel shook her head and crossed her arms across her chest.
"I think we need to be smart about this. We can find this planet's blind spot and escape without anyone knowing where we left from. It would make it easier for us to leave without a trail."

Ok so they were tied, Liz thought. She closed her eyes and focused on Max who was already getting dressed. He sent her a reassuring feeling over their connection.

Soon everyone was back in the control room talking about the two options available to them. Liz smiled when she noticed Maria and Michael arrive together, both looking equally disheveled. Maria frowned and stuck her tongue out at Liz.

"Ok now that we are all here, let's open it up for debate," Liz said. She asked Alex and Tess to make their positions again and opened it up to the rest to ask questions.

"I agree with Tess," Eliza said, "I really just want to leave this damn place."

"I have to go with Alex," Maria said, "I don't want to take any more chances."

It went around the room but at the end they all looked to Max and Liz for the final word.
"What do you think?" Liz asked Max.
"I'll go with whatever you decide," he said. Liz smiled, feeling his trust and support.
"I'd really hate to put Marlok's efforts to waste; I mean he is sacrificing his men and himself so that we can escape. Everything in me is telling me just to use this diversion and leave, but another part of me wants to be safe and make sure we can't be traced," Liz paused and looked at Alex. "How much time do you need to find us a blind spot?" she asked him.

"All I need are five minutes. I can hack into their radar systems and find a weakness." Alex answered confidently.

"Then do it, start now, get us up and as close as we can to the stratosphere and find us a hole."

Alex nodded and began typing away on the keys while Tess shrugged and looked over at his progress. Everyone else settled into their stations with Zan, Rath, Lonnie and Ava running toward the canon pods that were located on the top and sides of the ship. Zan grabbed Ava around her waist and kissed her deeply before running with Rath toward the top canons. Lonnie winked at her and waved as they separated to head toward their own pods at opposite ends of the ship.

Serena kissed Kyle before she ran toward the lab to prepare any first aid they might need and to see if she could prepare anything to make David more comfortable. Kyle and Isabel sat at the controls and navigated the ship just below the planet's radar detection wave and waited. Eliza and Chiron sat in the seat directly behind Liz and Max holding their collective breaths as they too waited.

"Got it!" Alex yelled and shouted the coordinates to Isabel and Kyle and showed Tess just where the blind spot was.
"You're sending us on a course between the two suns?" She asked.
"Well we're not really going to get that close to them. There's a spot just between them that jams their detections. We just have to fly right in line with that spot and we can just coast on out of here," Alex replied.

"Ok let's do it, how far are we from this position?" Max asked.
"Well the suns are currently to the east, so I say we can make it there in about twenty minutes if we push this ship to its full capacity," Alex said.
"I'd just like to remind everyone that we could have already been out of this planet if we just went straight up and out," Tess complained.

Alex stuck his tongue out at her and then blushed at his immature response.
"Ok, let's just get out of here," Kyle said and began to maneuver the ship towards the coordinates Alex had given him. Isabel nodded set her own controls to guide Kyle.

They were well on their way on leaving Antar, and Liz was afraid to let out a sigh of hope. She felt her hands begin to itch again and frowned. There were no trees to shoot at now. They were stuck on the ship and she knew the energy inside of her would only continue to build until her hands felt like they were on fire. For now it was just a mild nuisance and she could ignore it, if only Max wasn't looking at her with concern written all over his face.

"I'm fine," she whispered over to him but he just continued to frown and reached for her hand closest to him. She remembered him first trying to heal her and tried to pull away, but he held on tightly. Instead of focusing on pushing his energy in, which he knew would only make matters worse; he began to pull some of the excess energy into himself. Liz felt this and tried to make him stop but he just grabbed her hand tighter and pulled more energy in.

He pulled as much energy into himself as he could and then let go and slumped in his chair. He felt himself shaking from the intensity he felt and closed his eyes, willing his body to accommodate this new flux of energy. Once he felt it all distribute and settle, he opened his eyes and smiled at Liz.

"You shouldn't have done that," Liz said and reached over to touch his face. When a faint shimmer arose on his skin under her finger tips she gasped and pulled away but he only laughed. "You were glowing," she said.
"I know," He said, "I could feel it."

"What does it mean? Does it hurt?" she asked him as she once again reached out toward his face.
"No, It doesn't hurt," he assured her. When her fingers touched his face once more he smiled. "It tickles mostly. It's your energy inside of me reacting to you."

Liz smiled as the glow followed her fingertips. She brought her finger up to his nose and giggled with the tip began to glow. "Just like Rudolph," she said and Max frowned in confusion.

"Most of it lies here," Max said and brought her hand down over his chest where his heart was. He placed her palm there and watched as it glowed brighter.

"Is it insensitive to gag?" Maria asked from her seat beside Liz. Liz slapped her hand playfully and smiled.
"You might want to fix that collar," Liz said and pointed at Maria's neck where a large hickey was peeking out from underneath. Maria flushed a bright pink and raised her collar.

Ok I've been using this fic as an excuse to procrastinate on my final projects due at school. I've been bad, but this just means good news for those of you that have been waiting for an update.

Part 45

Everyone was prepared. Zan, Rath, Ava, and Lonnie were all reporting from their stations, indicating that so far everything was clear. Isabel and Kyle were reporting that so far nothing was coming up on the radar, and Alex simply said they were on course.

Max smiled as the ship soared to its destination. It was so quick and smooth that he felt a pang of guilt at comparing it to his own ship, now a pile of scrap metal somewhere below.

Again he felt regret and pain when he thought of the rest of his crew which did not survive. Those whom he had practically begged to join him in the earlier days were now dead somewhere on Antar with no hope of proper memorial. As soon as they got out of here he would find some way to commemorate them.

This is the second time you will be escaping home, he thought. The first was when he was eighteen and he'd learned of his family's dark activities.

He wondered whether his mother was still alive, or his brother. For once he was greatful his father had long passed.

A blip from the radar focused his attention back to the present and he looked toward Alex.
"What is it?"
"Just reinforcements I guess. More flyers heading toward the scene of explosions," Alex said. "Nothing has detected us, no worries."

Max smiled over at Liz before standing up and then kissed her cheek softly before heading out of the deck.

He checked the rooms looking for David and finally found him in one near the back of the ship. His friend looked drained, and being a vampire that would be bad. He should have planned ahead for something like this. He was the captain and he felt he had let David down. He closed the door to the room and walked over to the bed where David was curled into the fetal position. He knew the moment David sensed his presence when he saw his mouth open exposing the sharp teeth behind them.

Max knew what he had to do, and while he had done it once before he knew it wasn't going to be pleasant. But this was his friend, and David needed his help.

He sat on the bed and reached out for David who was already instinctively moving toward Max. Rolling up his left sleeve Max held his arm out to the still unconscious David and waited. The waiting, however, was not long before David's teeth

Max braced himself for the pain and grit his teeth. David was grabbing his arm now, keeping it in place as he drank. When Max felt he could no longer stand it he sent a mild shock into David to push him off.

David jumped back with a gasp and woke up to see Max applying pressure to the bleeding wound.
"Jeez, oh man, Max," David said and tore of a piece of the bed sheet to wrap Max's wrist. "What did I do? Did I hurt you? What happened?"

Max smiled weakly and tried to regain his breath. He had given David a lot of blood but he didn't want David to feel guilty.
"It was nothing, don't worry. You were weak so I decided to help. How do you feel?" Max asked and tried to settle back on the bed. He felt weak from the loss of blood and just wanted to lay back and close his eyes.
"Thanks man," David said and helped him lay back. "That's twice I've had your blood."

"Just think of it as a blood bond," Max said with a smile before closing his eyes.
"Are you ok?" David asked.
"I'm fine, just feel tired. I'm going to just rest for a few minutes." Max felt himself drifting off to sleep and knew David was doing the same. He felt the other man's hand on his shoulder and heard the softly spoken "thanks," before finally falling asleep.

~*~

Liz had felt what Max did and her eyes had watered. Max was so selfless, not only with her but with everyone. She had never met anyone so self-giving and caring. She felt Max doze off but knew he would be ok after some rest.

Looking back over at Maria she tried not to laugh. Maria had raised her collar high as to hide the hickey and was scowling off to the side. A glance at Michael showed him sheepishly trying to steal glances at Maria only to look away with a similar scowl. Those two were volitile, Liz thought to herself.

She looked over at Alex, Tess, Kyle and Isabel, who were busily piloting and scanning the radar for their escape. They all complimented each other perfectly.

She was about to slip into a melancholy mood when she felt a sharp jolt of lust hit her. She felt it like a fist to the stomach and she felt the air rush out of her. Max was dreaming.

It was all just impressions at first. Just the initial feeling of intense pleasure. She was tempted to just slip into his dream but fought against it. She knew she had gotten upset when he had done. But then a clear image jumped into her head of the two of them together. She had to bite her lip to not make a noise.

She tried to close her mind off to Max, but flashes of his dream kept assaulting her to the point where she could no longer hold them back. She knew Maria was talking to her now, and that she was asking if she was ok, but Liz could not respond.

In the dream, she could see herself laying on sand the color of crushed lilac, with Max’s face buried between her legs. This was not something Liz thought men would dream about. Her mind flashed on the other possible scenarios she would have thought Max would be dreaming about, but yet there he was, dreaming about going down on her.

She saw her dream-self writhing on the colored sand, hands grasping the tiny particles. Her feet were pressing deep into the sand and her hips struggled to lift. But Max was not allowing that. His hands kept her hips still as his lips and tongue went to work on her core.

Liz could feel herself growing wet, and could still hear Maria speaking, but she could care less at the moment. Max would not stop his assault, no matter how much her dream-self begged him to come inside.

Liz opened her eyes but could still catch flashes from Max’s dream. She turned around to look at Maria who was looking at her and asking what was wrong. Liz shook her head and stood up saying she would be right back.

As she passed by Tess, Liz told her she would go check on David for her, and Tess gratefully acknowledged the statement.

Liz passed by the empty rooms and walked up to the one she knew Tess shared with David. When she opened the door she found both men asleep on the bed. She could see Max shifting in his sleep while David remained still in a deep, comfortable sleep

She quietly made her way toward the bed and saw the makeshift bandage on Max’s wrist. It was not bleeding. David woke then and looked over at Liz.
“Hey,” she said. “How do you feel?”

“Better. Thanks to this guy,” he said and smiled at Max. “Tess?”
“She’s at the controls. We’re getting out of here.” Liz explained.

David nodded and struggled to sit up. Liz rushed over to him and helped him stand up. She took his right arm over her shoulder and made sure he was securely on his feet before letting go. He wobbled for a moment but caught himself.
“I’m going out there, see Tess,” he said. “I have to apologize.”

Liz simply nodded and watched as he made it to the door and out into the hall. She watched the door slide close and then looked down at Max. His lips were partially opened and she could see his tongue peeking out from behind them.

His hand twitched out in front of him, almost beckoning her to come closer, which she did. She reached out for the injured hand.

She feels his fingers flex as hers skim over his palm. She feels her energy responding to his, feels it cresting and then quickly retreating back. Her fingers lightly trace over the wrapping around his wrist. She could see the blood beneath it, knowing it was already stopped.

She felt his gasp in his sleep and drew back thinking she had inadvertently hurt him, but when she saw the slight glow behind the bandage receding she realized what it was.

She skimmed her fingers over the bandage again and saw the glow return. She watched his face, trying to gauge if what she was doing was hurting him, but so far he remained asleep. She gently worked at carefully removing the wrapping, pulling softly as she reached the part of it that was stuck with dried blood.

She grimaced as she saw the gash on his wrist. It wouldn’t get infected, David’s saliva prevented infection, but she still felt he should have Serena look at it. She traced around the wound and saw the glow return. She could feel the shivers of their connection flaring.

She leaned closer and noticed that the wound itself was glowing, the open gash appeared to be closing. She put her index and middle finger just below the gash and concentrated. ‘Heal’, she thought to herself and saw as the glow increased and the wound began to heal.

Max groaned, feeling his wrist begin the itch and pull. The feeling was uncomfortable at first, bringing him out of his pleasant dream, but the more in continued, the better it felt.

He struggled to open his eyes and was greeted with the sight on Liz leaning over his injured hand. He felt her finger on his arm just below his wrist. She had not seen him wake yet, and was staring at the wound on his wrist. He saw that it was glowing, and noticed that it was healing.

When the sensations finally faded Max saw that his skin was whole again. Liz was running her finger over to now healed wrist and bent down to place a kiss on it.
“Thank you,” Max said tiredly.

Liz looked up at him with a smile.
“You’re such a brave and selfless man. You gave your blood to David,” she said. She crawled onto the bed and leaned in to place a chaste kiss on his lips.

“I’ve seen the way you are with your own crew,” Max replied. “You’re the bravest person I’ve ever met.”

Max looked at the spot of the bed where David once laid and frowned.
“He went out to see Tess,” Liz explained. “He feels he needs to apologize.”

Max nodded and moved to sit up but Liz stopped him with a hand on his chest.
“Your wound may have healed, but you’re still weak from the blood loss. Stay here and rest,” She said softly, yet firmly.

Max reached for her left hand and brought it up to his lips, placing a kiss on her palm.
“You know with every time we heal each other, all we’re doing is strengthening the bond,” Max said.

“You know,” Liz said and she brought the hand he was still holding closer to her chest. “I’m starting to see the benefits of that happening.”

Ok I decided to drop off a peek into the new part.
This is a short post and I apologize, but I felt I owed you guys something.

Part 46

Alex announced that they were five minutes away from the blind spot. Everyone was on the ready, including David who sat at Tess' side, sluggishly slouching in his seat. Tess had burst into tears when he had appeared in the cabin. He had sunk to his knees and begged her to forgive him. Tess had pulled him to his feet and fell to kissing him. He told everyone how Max had given him some of his own blood, to which Michael rolled his eyes and said "what won't the man give?"

Max and Liz reappeared soon after, leaning on each other, but otherwise looking no worse for wear. Max sat straight in his seat, despite his lingering weakness.

"Ok, in order for this to work, we're going to have to go through this hole at top speed as to avoid tripping off anything beyond the atmosphere," Alex told everyone.

"I wish we could reach Marlok," Liz said and immediately felt Max's hand on hers.
"We couldn't risk it," Tess said. "Any radio communications now could be traced to the ship and our little blind spot idea would be blown away."

Liz nodded and pulled her hand away from Max. She needed to be strong now. She needed to be the captain she and her crew expected of her. She felt Max's distress through their connection and she sent him a reassuring warmth.

She focused on ignoring the part of her brain that wanted to cry for her oldest, dearest friend. She tried not to think about him and his crew being the last link of her father. She needed to get them off this planet.

“Ok, top speed. Get us the hell out of here,” Liz said.
“Aye, aye,” Alex saluted over his shoulder and set the ship to travel at its maximum velocity. Tess made sure they were going to stay on course at the higher speed and set the controls to automatic. They would not be able to manually control the ship at top speed.

Everyone prepared themselves for the higher speed and the Antarians at the guns could be heard cheering over the intercom. The ship vibrated with the change of speed and they soared past the blind spot through the planet’s atmosphere.

~*~

“Did they do as I suspected?” He asked his lieutenant.
“Yes sir,” answered the shorter man. “I still do not fully understand why they were allowed to escape, sir.”
“It’s not for you to understand, lieutenant,” the man replied. “Khivar failed in bringing Maxel to me, now I must wait for them to let their guard down. They must think they have gotten away safely. You can leave now.”

The lieutenant bowed and let the man alone in the room. Their ship was hovering just outside of Antar with its shields up as to avoid detection from other ships. As soon as he’d heard from Khivar that Maxel’s ship had entered Antar and crashed he gathered his own men and set out to find him. Unfortunately, he later heard that Maxel had managed to avoid capture and escaped.

One good thing that came from all of it was the knowledge of the other captain, one Elizabeth Parker of Earth. Max had healed this human to the point where it had altered her biological makeup. This was very interesting indeed.

~*~

“So where we heading to captain, uh captains,” Alex asked. He and Tess swiveled around in their seats to face Liz and Max. Everyone else was also now focusing on the couple.

“It was my idea to go to Antar,” Max said as he looked at Liz. “It’s your call.”

Liz looked at the new crew, now her and Max’s, she could only think of one location.
“Earth.”
“Earth?” Maria asked from her seat.
“Earth,” Liz repeated.”Set the course to Earth.”

Ok all here I am with the rest of the new part. I'm finally over my block and am now able to write. I had to quit my job for school so I actually have time to write. I don't want to say here that I will guarantee new parts sooner, cause I know I won;t be able to update so soon, but I come here with more of the fic and a promise that I am writing more as we speak, or post, or whatever it is we do here.

Thanks for the feed back and continued support

~*~

Liz had decided to walk around the ship on her own. She wanted to get acquainted with this new ship. Her old ship was so much an extension of her that it still hurt to think on it. Now this ship was a total stranger which she had to get intimately aware of quickly.

She visited the lab which was currently sans Serena. She took inventory in her head of the supplies they had and was thoroughly impressed. It was fully stocked with some medicines and first aid they didn’t even have on her old ship.

She even spotted a small portable x-ray machine in the corner.
“Wow,” she said to herself.

She walked to the rear of the ship and looked out the small window. It was still an amazing sight to see so many stars.

She walked to the hatches that led to the guns at the top of the ship where Zan and Rath were currently located. She knocked on one and waited for someone to open.
“What’s up?” Zan asked. Liz smiled and was glad to see it was him.

“How’s it going up there?” she asked.
“Quiet so far,” Zan said with a shrug. “What ya doin’?”
“I just wanted to get used to the ship,” she replied.

“I get it,” Zan said. “You doin’ ok?”
“I’m ok. Thanks for asking. How about you?”
“Not complainin’.”

Liz left Zan and walked toward the guns at the sides. She knocked on the hatched and watched as Lonnie appeared from the other side.
“Yo,” Lonnie said when she saw her.
“Hey Lons, how are you?”

“M’kay, why?”
“I just wanted to get a look around, see how this ship runs. The control good in there?”
“Like a dream,” Lonnie said with a grin. “Ain’t neva handled no guns like these before. Haven’t had a chance to use ‘em yet, but I’m dyin’ to.”

“Let’s hope you don’t have to for a while,” Liz said and let the hatch close.

She stood in the walkway absorbing the vibrations from the ship, letting it speak to her. She could feel its great power. Despite the meager dwelling of its previous owner, this was one state of the art machine.

Earth. It had been so long since she even allowed herself to even think about Earth. There was nothing there for her now, other than her mother, and even with her there wasn’t much. Liz’s mother was always distant with her daughter.

Liz had her father’s eyes and it hurt Nancy to look at them. Liz shook her head and walked back toward the rest of the crew.

“We’ll reach Earth in about two weeks,” Alex said when Liz reappeared. She nodded and sat back in her chair.
“Funny, I’ve never been to Earth,” Maria said. “Now I’m going there under stressed circumstances. I’m gonna take a nap.” She got up and scowled with she noticed Michael about to get up. One look at her and Michael changed his mind.

Serena was hovering over David requesting to draw some blood in order to work from it.
“It’s already regenerative. I can cook up some synthetic for you,” she said eagerly.
“You want me to drink my own blood,” David asked disbelievingly.
“It wouldn’t be your blood. I’d use your plasma to make more blood.” Serena replied.

“It’s worth a try,” Tess said from her seat. David looked at her and could still see the marks on her neck from where he’d bitten her. No, he couldn’t allow himself to hurt her again. As if sensing his thoughts, Tess reached up and rubbed the same area on her neck.
“Ok, I’ll do it,” he said.

Serena smiled and grabbed his arm and pulled him up. Tess pouted and waved at him as Serena dragged him away.

“So I was thinking we take shifts,” Kyle said from his seat. “We’re going to be on auto for a while and we don’t all have to be here all the time. I say we split up in shifts.”
“I’m in, I don’t need sleep yet, I can take first shift,” Alex said.
“And since we don’t need two pilots I can stay too,” Isabel said.

“Fine, by me,” Tess said as she stood and stretched. Isabel walked over and took Tess’ seat beside Alex. Kyle Nodded and also stood up and walked along with Tess to the med lab.

Eliza and Chiron both shrugged but ultimately decided Chiron would go to their room while she stayed. Maria and Michael looked at each other neither refusing to leave.
“I’m staying,” Maria said as she crossed her arms.
“Me too,” Michael said equally as stubborn.

Liz looked to Max who still looked a bit woozy but knew he would refuse to leave as well.
“Well this splitting shifts isn’t really going to work for us,” Liz said.
“Why don’t you take first shift,” Max suggested. He then turned around to face Michael, “You too.”

“Whoa, why do I have to go?” Michael asked and frowned when Maria smiled triumphantly.
“We’re it makes sense to have one captain and one second on shift at a time. We need to all work together from now on. What better way than to alternate shifts between the combined crew?” Max replied.

Liz looked at Michael and shrugged as she stood up. He shook his head but stood anyways, ignoring the way Maria was sitting smug. As they walked away together Liz brushed her hand over Max’s watching as the small jolt she sent him made his jump and smile.

“You tired?” Michael asked her.
“Not really, but we should try to get some rest,” Liz said as they walked down the corridor. She looked up at the taller man and frowned. She remembered hearing his skull crack against the cell wall. “Michael, I never got to apologize for earlier.”

Michael looked down at her in confusion and then produced a long “Ohhhhh,”
“Look, there’s no need to apologize. You weren’t all there and I pretty much brought it on myself.”
“What?” Liz said with a frown.
“I mean, I see a dazed woman and mention Max, making you go nutzo. My fault,” he said and laughed and Liz playfully slapped his arm.

“Out of all the women captains commanding an all-female crew whose ship we ever boarded, you are by far my favorite,” he said and pulled her into a headlock. He gave her a noogie and pulled away before she could retaliate.

Hey all, thanks for the feedback.
I'm glad you like the Liz/Michael interactions. I always felt that Liz needed an older brother, and who better than Mike?

And now,......on with the fic!

Part 47

Khivar walked down the corridor of the large ship after having boarded. He was used to having run of his piece of Antar and having been called into attendance with his lord was unsettling. The cowardly Nikolas had delivered the news and conveniently “disappeared” afterwards not wanting to attend with him.

Khivar looked at the guards at his side and rolled his eyes in disgust. Since when did he require the company of guards to lead him anywhere?

The lieutenant stopped at the large red door and punched in the code to have it open. When the door slid open he motioned for Khivar to enter. Khivar saw that the guards would remain on the other side of the door and swallowed hard.

He watched as the door slid closed leaving him alone before the large desk in the room. The other man, his lord, sat with his chin resting on his interlaced fingers.
“Khivar, please have a seat,” he said and grinned as the other man did so quickly. “I presume you must be wondering why I have called you to my presence.”

“I would not presume the reasons behind any of your actions, my lord,” Khivar said demurely, but secretly hated the forced respect.
“Whatever you say Khivar,” the man said with a feeling of superiority. He reached for the file on his desk, opened it and turned it so Khivar could read it. “If you can read this report, it says that Maxel was in Antar, in your region, and even in your prison, yet you seemed to have forgotten the planet wide notice of reporting any information on Maxel.” He said and watched as Khivar lowered his eyes. “I don’t know if you did not find a personal sighting and encounter with said Maxel to be of relevance, but let me assure you that it is.”

“My lord,” Khivar began to speak but was immediately cut off by the other man raising his hand and effectively stopping his vocal cords.
“You could not have really believed that I brought you here so you could give me a rather pointless excuse, did you?” the man said with a shake of his head.

Khivar reached up to his throat, feeling his face turn red from the effort to take in a breath. The other man sighed and relinquished his hold on him and Khivar took in a deep, struggling breath.

“The reason you are sitting here before me is that I am giving you a second opportunity to actually make yourself useful,” the man said.
“How may I be of service, my lord?” Khivar managed to ask. His throat still burned with each breath.

The man grinned and leaned forward in his seat. He retrieved a photo and handed it Khivar.
“This is the last projected image ever taken of Maxel. I want you to find the woman standing beside him.”

Khivar looked at the younger version of Maxel and the young woman beside him.
“What is her name, my lord?”
“Mikaleh,” the man said with a smug look. “She was placed in the work camp of Central Antar.” I have not kept as close a watch of her whereabouts as I should have. But she was placed there ten years ago.”

Khivar looked at the woman in the image again and looked at the obvious intimacy between the couple. The girl looked young; perhaps 15, but then again Maxel did not look that much older himself. She was smiling up at Maxel as she held a small bouquet of flowers in her left hand. Maxel had his arm around her shoulders, looking straight ahead but tilting his head toward the girl.

“Why the girl, my lord? What has she do to with Maxel?” Khivar asked and immediately regretted it. The other man glared at him and stood up.
“Your mission is to find her and bring her to me, not ask unnecessary questions. Do you understand?”

Khivar nodded and slipped the photo in his jacket pocket. He stood up after an uncomfortable moment in which his lord simply glared down at him.
“I will scour the camp, my lord, as well as the surrounding area. I will not rest until this girl is found and delivered to your presence.”
“I would expect you not to rest until you do,” the man replied. He handed Khivar the rest of the file and sat back down.

Khivar nodded then quickly bowed as the door behind him slid open. He walked out towards the guards who accompanied him back toward his ship. Once in his own ship, Khivar allowed himself to grumble at the mission. He was the feudal lord of most Upper Antar and he was not being sent on a scout mission to search for some girl.

He contacted his military leader in his region and told him to begin a search for this woman. He sent a copy of the picture as well as a copy of the file his lord had given him.
“I want a full report of the camp and its inhabitants. Send me death certificates of any woman matching the description I sent you. I want any records of escape or relocation from the past ten years.”

After making his contacts, Khivar was soon on his way to Central Antar.
“You’d think I was some lower rant patsy,” Khivar mumbled to himself. “Speaking of, someone find me that sniveling Nikolas.”

Max looked over his shoulder at Maria who was currently picking at her fingernails. When she looked up and saw him looking at her she smiled but quickly went back to looking at her nails.
“How long have you been Liz’s Second?” Max finally asked.

Maria looked up and began to count on her fingers.
“About seven years now,” she responded. When he didn’t ask anything else she went back to looking at her nails.

“Uh,” Max began and Maria sighed before looking back up at him. “What were you doing before then?”
“Let’s see,” Maria sat up straighter. “Before Liz came along and offered me this new life of mine I was a two bit con.”

“What do you mean?” Max asked.
“There aren’t many shifters where I’m from. I used my ability to get by. I was a runaway. I did what I could to survive. Liz literally saved my life the day she showed in my life. She’s been a sister to me ever since that day.” Maria said. “Any more questions?”

“I simply want to get to know you,” Max said. “We were forced into this new arrangement under extreme circumstances. I just want us to get to know each other.”
“Look Max, I get it. We’re probably going to say together from now on. You like Liz, and she so obviously likes you too. We’ve been through a lot already. We’ve proven that we work good together, and I guess me and you have some sort of ‘bond’ now…”

“I can remove it if you want…” Max said cutting her off, but Maria went on.
“…I respect you, ok. I think you’re a great captain and it’s obvious that you care about your crew, and that’s a big plus for me. But if you really want to sit here and have a ‘girlfriend’ chat, I’d have to say you’re wasting your time.”

Max frowned but eventually nodded. When Maria saw his dejected reaction she rolled her eyes and stood to walk over to him.

“Jeez, you’d think your crew was a bunch of women instead of us,” she said. “Look I already have one man on this ship looking at me like a kicked puppy. I really don’t need another one.” Max was about to question her statement but she stopped him. “Look, I’m not saying we can’t be close. I’m just saying it’s not going to happen right away. It took me awhile before I realized Liz didn’t expect anything from me. Me and you can be ‘girlfriends’ too, just give it some time, ok?”

Max wanted to respond but could not think of anything so he just smiled.
“Would you like me to braid your hair now?” Maria asked in a sugary voice. Isabel laughed from her seat and even Alex found himself grinning.

“You are truly one outstanding woman, Maria.” Max said.
“Spread the word, brotha.” Maria replied.

David bit back a not so manly cringe when Serena inserted the needle into his arm.
“Does it hurt this much when I take blood?” He asked as the vial filled up. Serena just shook her head. “I’m serious.”

Tess watched on as her big baby complained. Kyle was right beside her watching Serena. Serena tried not to look up at Kyle but couldn’t help sneak a glance in his direction as she worked. When she removed the vial and pushed in another David grumbled
“Oh come on, it’s not that bad,” Serena said to him.

She pulled off the second vial, placed a cotton ball over the needle before pulling it off, and removed the rubber strap from David’s arm.
“Now I’m going to replicate the plasma in your blood. I think I can cook up some more synthetic blood for you in a few hours.”

“The other synthetic blood had a sort of suppressant in it,” Kyle said. It made it easier for him to go without blood for a while. It also calmed his more basic instincts.”
“He means it made me better company,” David explained. “So you don’t wake up to me hovering over you in bed.”

“You better not,” Tess warned. She leaned against the door frame watching as Serena smiled and began to take samples of David’s blood and place them into different beakers. She walked over to David and kissed his cheek before ruffling his hair.

“Can I go now?” David asked. Serena didn’t even respond, just nodded and continued working. David hopped off the bed and walked out with Tess.

“You know, seeing you handle those beakers is hot,” Kyle said.
“Huh?” Serena asked. She was too engrossed in her work to hear what he’d just said. Kyle made his way over to her and watched over her shoulder.

She took other samples to a microscope and smeared some onto a slide before placing it under the lens. She adjusted the magnification and jotted notes on the pad to her right. Kyle just grinned.

When she turned around to return to the beakers she crashed into Kyle’s chest.
“Oh jeez,” Serena said in surprise. “What are you doing standing there?”
“I’m just watching you work.” He said.
“Why?”

Kyle laughed and let her walk past him to the beakers. He could feel her concentration. She was in “science” mode right now and he understood that meant he needed to get out of her way. He walked over to the hospital bed and sat on it.

Serena would look at the samples and take notes. Occasionally she would mumble to herself and Kyle would struggle to keep from laughing. Three hours later Kyle heard a “Yes!” and nearly fell over at the sudden outburst. Serena took up one of the beakers she’d been working on and led it to the microscope. After taking more notes and mumbling “yes” to herself over and over, Kyle guessed she had found a good batch.

She brought out a larger beaker and poured her mixture into it along with other liquids which Kyle could not identify. She spun the contents together and retrieved a dropper from the table to her left.

Kyle watched her continue mixing and pouring and eventually he laid on his side on the bed and fell asleep.

~*~

Liz was lying in bed, wide awake when she heard the soft knock on the door.
“Come in,” she said and watched as the door slid open. She smiled and waved him in. “Wanna talk?”

Michael nodded and slowly made his way over to the bed. Liz sat up and adjusted the pillows behind her as Michael sat on the opposite edge. “What’s up?”
“Uh, actually…well, ok,” Michael paused trying to get the words right in his mind. “All right, I know you know about me and Maria,” he said and Liz nodded.

“Well, she’s got some attitude on her, as you know too,” again Liz nodded with a smile. “Well, I kinda…like her. I like her, but she acts like it’s all a game. Look, you know her. You know what she’s like. Is it just bullshit? Does she really not care at all or am I not alone in this?”

Liz just stared at him. Now, she couldn’t claim to know Michael as well as she knew Maria. Even with their stint in the Tower and her care for him, this was unexpected. Michael liked Maria. She would have just thought they lusted each other, maybe even admired each other, but Michael was telling her he liked Maria. All the looks, all of the teasing of Maria, made more sense now. He truly liked her.

Maria. Liz knew there was something else there besides mere lust. She knew that there was some curiosity there for Maria when it came to Michael. But did she like him? God, Liz felt like a teenager again.

Michael was waiting for an answer.

“Ask Maria. I’m not going to answer for her. One, because I don’t really know, and two, because you are both grown ass folk who can deal with this on your own.”

Michael stared, wide-eyed, for a whole minute before he blinked. Liz was staring right back.
“Do I really sound as bad as I think you think I sound?” he asked. Liz laughed and leaned forward to touch his hand.
“If you don’t talk to anyone else about it you’ll be fine. You really should talk to Maria though.”

“Maria said I looked like a kicked puppy,” he said. Liz tried not to giggle when she saw the look that might have prompted Maria’s statement.

See, I've been good no? I'm updating, maybe not soon enough, but I'm updating. Being unemployed gives one a lot of free time. School is going steady and not overwhelming. Soon I'll be in a classroom getting teaching experience, YIKES!!!
God save our youth, I'm going to be a teacher. Hide your young minds!!!

Part 48

Alex stretched as he relinquished his seat to Tess at the end of his shift. He was tired and his body was longing to curl up in bed. He passed by Kyle as he entered the cabin and watched as Zan and Ava walked down the corridor to their room.

“Where you heading, Alex?” He heard Isabel ask from behind. He looked over his shoulder to see Isabel smiling as she followed him. He stopped and turned around to face her, confused when she just stood there smiling at him. She was only slightly taller than him and it made him feel uncomfortable to have to look up to her.

“Uh, my room?” He replied. She then what Alex could only refer to as giggle, which was only slightly disturbing. In the time he had gotten to know Isabel she had always been a strong and serious woman. The person who now stood in front of was smiling sweetly and expectedly.

“You’re tired?” She asked and then, to further disturb Alex, she…pouted.
“Well, I guess I am a little tired. It’s been a rough time.” He said. Alex slipped his hands in his pockets and rocked on his heels. He didn’t know what to do.

“Oh. Well, I’m not really tired. I kind of wanted to talk.”
“To me?” Alex asked.

“Yes to you,” she replied with a laugh and a nudge to Alex’s arm.
“O…kay, well we could go to…”
“Your room?” Isabel asked before he could finish.
“Sure.”
Alex led the way not really knowing what he’d gotten himself into.

~*~

Maria had noticed the rest of the crew exchanging places at the end of the first shift and immediately jumped up and patted Max’s head as she passed him.

She wasn’t going to wait for Michael to show up and relieve her. The voice in her head taunted her, telling her that she was just afraid to see him. She passed by Eliza who waved as she passed.
Then she just froze.

Michael was coming out of Liz’s room and her captain stood on her tip toe to place a kiss on his cheek. Maria turned into a corner and peeked from the side as Michael hugged Liz and walked away toward the cabin.

She waited until he passed by her before she stepped out. Liz was stretching, arching her back, when she spotted Maria.
“Hey,” she said.
“So…Michael? In your room?”

Liz raised her eyebrows and then began to laugh. Maria stood with her hands on her hips as her friend bent over laughing. She looked over her shoulder to see Max staring at the scene in the corridor.
“She’ll just be a minute,” Maria said as she led Liz back into her room. “What’s so funny?”
“For someone who claims not to care about Michael you should have seen your face just now,” Liz said as her laughter calmed down.

Maria glared at her and crossed her arms over her chest. “Michael just wanted some advice,” Liz explained.
“Advice? On what?”
“On the kind of thing that he asks about to someone in confidence,” Liz said pointedly. “I gotta get to the cabin.” Liz stepped back out to the corridor and looked over her shoulder at Maria. “You should give him a chance. He might surprise you.”

Max smiled at her.
“What was that all about?” He asked.
“Just trying to enlighten some of the crew,” Liz replied with a sly grin. “Get some rest.”

Max just smiled as Liz passed by him and looked over at Maria who was now standing in the door way of Liz’s room. When she looked back at him Max raised his eyebrows in question.
“Max raised his eyebrows in question.
“Your girlfriend is trying to be sneaky, and I don’t like sneaky,” she said.

Max chuckled and preceded to walk toward his own room.

~*~
Alex watched as Isabel strolled into his room and sat on his bed. She leaned back on her arms and smiled at him.
“Don’t mind me,” she said. “This is your room, go ahead and make yourself comfortable. Pretend I’m not even here.”

Alex didn’t know what to say to that, so he chose to say nothing. He let the door slid shut and kicked off his shoes. Normally, he would strip down to his underwear and jump in bed, but Isabel was there, much to his confusion.

“So, you wanted to talk?”

“Oh, yes. Yes I do, actually,” she said. She kicked off her own shoes and tucked her feet underneath her on the bed. She patted the space beside her on the bed and waited until Alex slowly, and cautiously made his way over.

He could feel his palms sweating but refused to acknowledge them. Isabel tossed her head back, letting her blonde hair fall behind her. Her cheeks were pink and she slipped her bottom lip into her mouth before smiling.

“I’m sure you’re well aware of the entire goings on of the rest of the crew,” she said and waited while Alex thought before nodding. “Liz wasn’t the only one who stuck by her unwritten rule of celibacy. It’s been five years since I even kissed a man, six if you don’t count family members.

“I agreed with Liz. I thought she was right to say we couldn’t let ourselves be distracted. Men were a distraction. We were stronger. We didn’t need them as much as they needed us. Of course, I’m being slightly more cynical than Liz about this, but I went along with it. Every time we docked somewhere I didn’t go off like the rest of the crew to find some one night fling. I survived Ava and Lonnie’s constant humping. I rolled my eyes when Eliza would come aboard reeking of sex. But then you guys show up.”

Alex didn’t know what to say. He’d been celibate too, though his wasn’t really by choice. He couldn’t just walk off the ship with Zan’s confidence and have women falling at his feet. He didn’t have Rath’s unabashed confidence. Heck, he didn’t even have an eighth of Max’s charisma.

“You guys show up and turn everything I knew upside down. Ava and Zan bond. Even our immaculate captain, Liz, succumbed to your captain. Everyone on this ship is coupling up. I suspect even Maria is sleeping with Michael. I gave up being a woman to be on this ship, and I’m tired of putting my feelings last.”

Before Alex could think about what that meant, he felt himself being pushed backwards on the bed by Isabel’s weight. The one time he had a girl on top of him was when he was twelve and his cousin was trying to pry the last piece of fruit from his hand.

Isabel’s lips were demanding and unforgiving. She fisted his shirt and pulled him closer while pinning him down on the bed. She could feel him harden beneath her and was elated. It took a while for Alex to realize that he should be doing something other than just lay there, but he was soon responding.

God, this was heaven. He could feel her breasts against him and wanted desperately to touch them, if only his arms weren’t currently trapped between he and Isabel.

Her moans against his mouth were driving him dangerously closer to embarrassing himself so he turned his face away. This, however, did not deter Isabel in the least. She latched onto his neck, loving the vibrations of his moans.

“Is…Isabel, wait. Just hold on a second, please,” Alex begged. Isabel groaned in protest but pulled and sat up.
“What?”

“It’s just, I…really. Ok, I’m not complaining. I’m honored, heck I’m counting my blessings, but can we slow down a bit?”
“You don’t want me?” Isabel asked and climbed off his lap.
“No, no, no, god I want you. You don’t know how much I want you. Seriously, I’d rather just let you have your way with me.”

“Then why’d you ask me to stop?” She asked.
“With the pains of sounding like a girl; I think we should think this through,” he replied.

“In all honesty, though,” Isabel said before climbing back onto his lap, “I’m done thinking.”

Before Alex could protest, Isabel was kissing him again and rubbing herself against him. He tried to slip away but man was she strong. He moaned in distress but Isabel took the sound as a good sign.

He could feel himself getting harder and felt his body tense before shuddering.
“Oh no,” He groaned.
“Did you just cum?” Isabel asked as she sat up again.

He reached up and covered his face not wanting to look at her. “You did, didn’t you?”

“I’m sorry,” he mumbled into his hands and felt his ears hot with shame. He peeked through his fingers afraid that he’d see disgust on her face but when all he saw was a grin, he moved his hands away. He was expected a grimace, maybe even a mocking smile, but the look on Isabel’s face was something he’d never seen before.

“I was afraid you just didn’t find me attractive,” she said. Alex propped himself up and gazed dumbly at her.
“You thought I wouldn’t find you attracted? Are you serious? You’re amazingly hot, sexy. I’m just afraid that now you’re going to realize that you made a serious mistake in coming to me instead of someone else. Someone who doesn’t just cum in his pants after three minutes.”

Isabel laughed but leaned in to place a soft kiss on Alex’s lips.
“I doubt I made a mistake.”
