Chapter 41

Post by Crashdown_51 »

Sorry Chapter 40 was so short. I'll make it up with good news, but it's up to you guys on what it is.

Chapter 41

“I’ve never seen anything like that.” Michael confessed to Max.

“Me either.” Max replied.

“We’re fathers.” The four of them could hear Michael and Max mumble in disbelief. Relief took over them when they turned with amazed smiles. “We’re fathers!” They repeated ecstatic as Kyle, Isabel and Ava joined in the group hug. “Congratulations!” They all yelled swaying Max and Michael back and forth as they hugged them one by one.

“Can we see them?” Isabel asked with an eager smile.

“Hold on for a minute.” Max said as he went into Michael’s room with Michael following behind. “Alright. You guys can come in.” Max said opening the door. Maria was snuggled underneath the covers with her head resting on fluffed pillows with a little bundle in her arms.

“Hey, guys.” Maria greeted not tearing her eyes off of Brady.

“Oh, my God. He’s so little.” Isabel exclaimed covering her mouth in amazement. “Congratulations.” She said hugging Maria after Kyle did.

“Let’s just hope the kid has your hair.” Kyle whispered to Maria and then winked.

“Have you guys seen Ben yet?” Maria asked.

“Not yet, Liz insisted you’d be there first.” Max informed her as he picked up Brady so Michael could carry her to Liz.

Max’s Room

“Liz?” Maria called out as Michael carried her in.

“Maria! How’s Brady?” Liz asked happy to see her as she cradled Ben in her arms.

“See for yourself.” Maria said pointing with her chin to Max who was carrying Brady to her.

“Oh, my God, Maria he has your eyes.” Liz said in amazement as Michael lowered Maria beside Liz.

“Let me see my nephew.” Maria said opening her arms to get Benjamin. “Oh, just look those cheeks! Precioso tan lindo!” Maria giggled in baby talk.

“Michael, Brady is the splitting image of you.” Liz commented looking at Michael who was sitting by Maria with a proud smile.

“Ben definitely looks just like Max.” Michael added.

“He has his eyes.” Liz said dazed as she gazed into Max’s eyes.

“They’re beautiful.” Max answered. “There’s a mob of family and friends outside about to break down the door if we don’t let them in.” Max said pointing to the door.

“Let them in.” Liz demanded as she made baby faces to Brady. Max walked over to the door and let them in, nearly running all over him.

“Oh my God, Max! He looks just like you.” Isabel said in amazement. “Zan was all Te…sorry, it’s not the right time for that.” Isabel quickly apologized when she saw Maria and Liz’s head shoot up when Tess’s name was almost mentioned.

“It’s okay, Isabel.” Liz said with a smile. “Tess is in the past. I’m only interested in right now.”

Bryan Adams - On A Day Like Today

Free is all you gotta be
dream dreams no one else can see
sometimes ya wanna run away
but ya never know what might be comin' round your way
ya ya ya

On a day like today
the whole world could change
the sun's gonna shine
shine thru the rain
on a day like today
ya never wanna see the sun go down
ya never wanna see the sun go down

Somewhere - there's a place for you
I know that you believe it too
sometimes if you wanna get away
all ya gotta know is what we got is here to stay
all the way

On a day like today - the whole world could change
the sun's gonna shine - shine thru the rain
on a day like today - no one complains
free to be pure - free to be sane
on a day like today
ya never wanna see the sun go down
ya never wanna see the sun go down

Free is all we gotta be
dream dreams no one else can see
but ya never know what might be comin' for you and me
ya it's gonna be

on a day like today...

“Do you guys mind if I can talk to Maria?” Liz asked.

"We'll be just outside." Max informed her getting a nod from her and then kissed her and Ben on their foreheads before leaving as everyone said their good-bye's to the newborns, leaving the two alone. Maria and Liz placed Brady and Ben between them as they laid down underneath the covers and faced each other like they always did when they were about to talk.

“So, how are you?” Liz asked Maria.

“I’m fine. How about you?” Maria asked concerned.

“I’m happy.” Liz said in tears making Maria cry as well. “I’m happy I have you and Max and Ben and…I’m so happy.” Liz cried even harder in her pillow giving Ben access to a strand of Liz’s hair that was now clutched in his hand.

“What is it with the Evans guys and your hair?” Maria asked making Liz laugh as she started taking Liz’s hair out from Ben’s grasps but then Brady got a hold on one of her strands.

‘I'm gonna have to touch your hair...cuz it's so soft...’ Echoed through Liz’s head.

“Ouch.” Maria winced as Brady pulled that one string of hair out from her head. “Oh yeah, you’re going to be just like your father.” Maria commented.

“Maria, are you happy?” Liz asked helping Maria get her hair out of Brady’s death grip.

“Then I ever thought I could.” Maria answered. Liz smiled and held on to Brady’s and Ben’s tiny hands in one of hers and then Maria placed hers on top of Liz’s, suddenly Liz got up and looked at Maria in a bead of sweat. “Liz? Are you okay? Should I call Max?”

“Maria, I had another preminition." Liz announced stunned.

"What was it?" Maria asked frightened.

"Maria...we can go back home.” Liz exhaled.

Chapter 42

Chapter 42

“What? What do you mean…I thought the babies…” Maria rambled. “What exactly did you see?” Maria finally asked a solid question that caused Liz to blush remembering the last time Maria asked her that she was describing her and Max’s steamy kiss that they had in the Crashdown.

‘What exactly did you see?’

‘Stars.’

But this time it wasn’t stars…it was something else. “I was in an apartment changing Ben’s diaper. You came in with Brady in a stroller and handed me a magazine. Now, magazines, strollers, diapers, baby wipes, it’s not things you can pick up at your local Antarean corner store, Maria.” Liz explained.

“But I thought the whole reason for us coming here was because Brady and Ben are…cause the can’t survive in Earth?” Maria questioned.

“Maria, I know what I saw.” Liz assured her. “There has to be a reasonable explanation for this…we need to talk to Larek.”

“Max! Michael!” Maria called out. Michael and Max came rushing into the room to see what was the matter.

“What is it?” Michael asked concerned.

“Can you call Larek? Got more questions for him.” Maria answered. Michael nodded and went to get Laerek, when he came backMaria had Brady in her arms and Max was sitting by Liz with his arm around her waist as she held Ben in her arms.

“You wanted to see me?” Larek asked.

“Yeah, how are those answers coming along to our questions?” Maria asked skeptically.

“Oh, I haven’t had the…”

“Save it buddy. You got some major explaining to do.” Maria announced in a stern tone.

“What are you talking about?” Michael asked confused at the sudden interrogation.

“Can Brady and Ben survive in Earth?” Liz asked bluntly which made Max and Michael shoot a look to Larek to hear his answer.

“They can.” Larek answered in a defeated tone.

“Why didn’t you tell us before?” Max asked aggravated by the news.

“The counsel ordered me to with hold that information until you settled matters with Khivar and the war.” Larek confessed.

“So what was the plan? Keep us here until we did your dirty work?” Michael asked now officially ticked off.

“Yes.” Larek answered frankly.

“So if I would have never got a premonition…were you ever going to tell us?” Liz asked in a hurt voice. Larek just looked at her blankly.

“I thought we were friends?” Max commented in disappointment.

“We are. Just not like before. I guess a part of me wanted that friendship back.” Larek admitted. “I’m sorry.”

“But when I got…why did it feel like they couldn’t survive unless we came here? Was it a mind warp?” Liz asked biting back the tears as Ben made light baby sounds.

“No, it wasn’t. They wouldn’t of survived in Earth until after they were born.” Larek answered. “Since they are half alien, they needed Antarean air in order for their alien side to survive. Balance both halves.”

“I don’t understand.” Liz replied in a puzzled tone. “Max, Isabel, and Michael were born on Earth and their fine.”

“The incubation pods they were in supplied them with all the elements they needed to survive.” Larek answered. Then all the pieces started to fit into place. They had to come no matter what, but they now have the option to go back.

“Okay, I know this question I should have asked the moment we got here, but why could we survive hear?” Maria asked as Brady slept in her arms.

“As much to our surprise, the two of you and your wrestling friend are all different. You’re not alien but you’re not human anymore.” Larek answered.

“Creepy. When can we go back to Earth?” Michael asked getting a surprised look from Larek.

“You mean you would still return? To living on the road with Ben and Brady? On the run for the rest of your lives rather than live in royalty?” Larek asked surprised.

“We can’t…here we will always be in danger, especially Ben.” Liz answered.

“Liz is right. I can’t put my family in solitude because I’m worried about what past enemy, present or future, might target them.” Max answered shaking his head. “I mean at least in Earth we know who our enemies are…here it’s living in fear of the unknown.” Max confessed and then looked over to Michael. “Can you Michael? Can you have Maria and Brady living in fear?”

“No. No I can’t.” Michael answered.

“The counsels won’t approve.” Larek warned.

“Then help us…friend.” Max pleaded. Larek looked like he was struggling mentally on what to do biting on his lower lip as he pinched his fingers together.

“So what’s the verdict Larek? You helping us or not?” Michael pressed.

Chapter 43

Post by Crashdown_51 »

Wow, Chapter 43, who would have thought it would go this far. It's a shame that this fic is about to end as well. Is everyone satisfied so far? Questions? Feel free to ask.

Chapter 43

“So what’s the verdict Larek? You helping us or not?” Michael pressed.

“If I help you...I can’t. I’m sorry.” Larek admitted shaking his head and then headed for the door. “I suggest you read what your father’ s left for you…you might find an interesting section in there about this palace.” Larek advised before leaving. After seeing Larek leave, Isabel, Kyle, Zan and Ava reentered the room to see Max rummaging through his bags and pulling out the book they found in the mausoleum.

“Max. Michael. What’s going on?” Isabel asked. Max got up and stood in front of Kyle, Isabel, Zan and Ava.

“If there was a chance that we could go back…to Earth…would you guys vote to go back?” Max asked seeing their confused faces struggle with the thought and then went back down to search through the bags.

“What? I thought the babies couldn’t survive?” Isabel questioned more confused. Max rose from the floor caring the thick bound book and laid it on the bed.

“It’s complicated. But we can go back. We can go back. To Earth.” Max answered as he opened the book. “I can’t read this. It’ll take days to translate this.” Max yelled closing the book shut. Michael picked up the book and began skimming through the pages.

“Max…I can read it.” Michael announced.

“You can?” Isabel asked surprised.

“It makes sense. If I remember who I was before that means everything else. It’s weird I look at all the symbols and it’s makes sense…like I’m reading English.” Michael said turning the pages.

“So tell us what it says.” Max demanded.

“Royal four…blah, blah, blah…powers…here. It’s about the palace. It talks about how my dad thought that they were being betrayed by one of their own.” Michael read. Isabel lowered her head in shame and felt Kyle’s hand on her shoulder for comfort. “Blah, blah, blah…passage ways, my dad says there’s a hidden way back to the Stone Mausoleum and there we can find a portal that takes us back to Earth.” Michael said closing the book.

“So now we have our way to go back.” Max concluded.

“So know we vote. ‘Yes’ to go and ‘no’ to stay.” Michael announced. “You guys already know my vote.”

“I vote ‘yes’.” Kyle answered. “We were lucky that we had these two knocked up and that pyramid thing, but I don’t know what we would have done if we didn’t have any of that.”

“I vote ‘yes’.” Liz added. “I think Ben and Brady would be safer there.”

“I think Liz is right. I vote ‘yes’.” Maria answered.

“So do I.” Max added and Zan and Ava nodded as well.

“Unanimous, first time. So we go.” Michael commented. “When?”

“I’d leave tonight if it wasn’t for Liz and Maria. They need rest. I healed them of everything else but still…” Max replied sitting by Liz’s legs to look at Ben.

“Just gives us a day or two.” Liz suggested as she watched Maria giving Brady to Michael. He looked so tiny in his arms.

“Fine, but until then now one says anything to anyone.” Michael ordered.

Next Day

“You called for me?” Larek asked Liz as he poked his head in the room after knocking.

“Yeah, I wanted to take me somewhere.” Liz answered, putting a little blanket over Ben who was strapped securely in her baby front pack carrier.

“Anywhere, but where’s Max?” Larek asked not seeing him anywhere.

“Max and Michael are doing a little reading.” Liz answered with a hinting expression as she packed a baby bag. “Uh, I wanted to ask you, will I still have my shield now that I’m not pregnant?”

“That’s a gift you both now share.” Larek replied with a bow.

“What about money? What do you guys use for money here?” Liz asked.

“You don’t have to worry about that.” Larek answered.

“Yo, Parker, you ready to go?” Kyle asked as he stormed in the room.

“Evans. And yes.” Liz said putting the baby bag over her shoulder and walking to Kyle.

“May I ask where you want me to take you?” Larek asked interested.

“To her.” Liz said handing him a piece of paper with the name ‘Alana’ on it and then headed to the door. Larek held the piece of paper tightly in his hands and then followed Liz with a sudden sense of fear consuming his heart.

Chapter 44

Stone Mausoleum

“It’s somewhere around here.” Michael said looking for a latch or loose stone to find the hidden portal. “Found it.” Michael announced and pressed the loose stone. Suddenly a purple spotlight appeared in the center of the room.

“Good. Shut it off. We’ll be back tomorrow.” Max ordered. "Liz doesn't know I'm gone."

"Oh, yeah. You're dead." Michael comments with a worried smile.

Up in the Hills

“What is this place?” Kyle asked seeing they were heading into what appeared to be a cavern.

“This is Panomine Rocks. It’s where Alana lives.” Larek answered as the two of them made sure Liz didn’t fall with the baby. The entered the cavern and to the darkened end there was the outline of a door, which Larek knocked on and stepped back as it opened.

“You? What are you doing here?” The voice of a woman could be heard asking Larek in a voice of familiarity.

“The Royal Four have returned and the Queen wishes to see you.” Larek answered. Liz shot a worried look over to Kyle when Larek introduced her as the Queen, it being the last thing she wanted to be acknowledged as in Antar. The door opened wider and Larek pointed in, when Liz and Kyle entered, to what seemed small from the outside but in reality was as big as Max’s room back at the palace, and found a robed woman kneeling on the floor.

“Um, you don’t have to kneel, really.” Liz said embarrassed.

“Liz, she won’t look at you in the eyes. It’s kind of against the law here for a peasant to face one of the Royals.” Larek whispered in her ear.

“Is there something I can do for you, my Queen?” The woman asked still kneeling.

“Are you Alana?” Liz asked sitting in a pod like seat that Larek brought to her from the corner.

“No, Alana was my aunt. I am Aida.” She informed her.

“I’m sorry.” Liz apologized. “Um, I read somewhere that she was a craftwoman, I was hoping she could help me with something.”

“Maybe I can help?” Aida offered.

“See my friend, he’s never met his father before and I thought it’d be a nice wedding present if I can get someone who knew him make a photo or something of him. His name is Michael, but I guess you guys know him as Rath.” Liz added noticing a Aida react to the sound of Michael’s Antarian name. “I was also wondering if the pendants that were given to the Royal Four before can be made again, except for the Thyth and Moira pendent because we already have those.”

“It’s good to hear you still possess your pendant.” Aida answered with a bitterness chill running through her voice.

“It’s not mine. It belongs to Ava.” Liz answered. “Why don’t you just look at me? I’m not the Queen you think I am.” When they looked at each other they both were startled by what they saw. Each other.

Chapter 45

“Whoa? Am I dreaming or something?” Kyle asked seeing Aida resembled Liz. They didn’t look ‘exactly’ like each other, but their eyes, something about them were similar.

“Larek, what’s going on?” Liz asked after coming out of her stunned state.

“You know exactly what. That’s why you wanted to come here.” Larek headed out the door but then stopped and looked over to Liz. “I’ll be waiting outside when you’re done.” And then shut the door behind him.

“I don’t understand. I’ve seen the Queen. She came back and her son.” Aida debated with herself as she stood from her knees and walked away from Liz.

“You saw Tess.” Kyle informed her. “She was suppose to be the Queen if it wasn’t for the King falling in love and marrying Liz over here and then Jr. came along shockingly not that long after.” Kyle said with a teasing smile getting a smack on the arm from Liz.

“Kyle!” She exclaimed causing Ben to stir in her arms. “See you woke Ben up.”

“He just wanted to be by Uncle Kyle, that’s all.” Kyle said holding out his hands signaling to Liz that he wanted to hold him.

“There is no way I am giving you Benjamin with all these rocks around.” Liz said with arched eyebrows.

“Liz, you know I won’t drop him. Have I every fumbled a football?” Kyle asked in amazement.

“I know you did not just refer to my baby as a football. Just wait til’ we get back. I’m so telling Max about this.” Liz threatened playfully seeing Kyle just look at her amused and then looked back at Aida who was watching nervously. “I’m sorry. He can be a pain.”

“Max? I thought the King’s name is Zan?” Aida asked confused.

“That’s uh, a very long story.” Liz said his an overwhelmed smile. “Uh, how can I summarize it? Oh, uh, Max, my husband…”

“And King.” Kyle added.

“…is really Zan, just he grew up as Max. But there’s Zan from New York, our friend…”

“Not Max’s.” Kyle coughed out getting an annoyed stare from Liz and then continued.

“…his name is really Zan but he’s not the King, he’s more like back up.” Liz said biting her lip seeing Aida was even more confused.

“Look Aida, what my friend is trying to say her is, there are four Zan’s in the world, if you could believe that, one of them is dead, one of them is a baby, one of them is not a King and the other is named Max who’s the King to this planet. Got it?” Kyle asked getting a nod from Aida.

“If you knew about the pendants that means you knew my aunt was killed?” Aida asked getting a nod from Liz.

“Yeah, I’m really sorry. I just had to make sure that Larek took me to the right place.” Liz apologized.

“I wish I had Ava in front of me to make her pay for all she put us through.” Aida spoke with hatred in her voice as tears filled her eyes.

“I read was that she was killed because of the Akev pendant.” Liz recalled that was what was written as the cause of her death.

“That’s a lie. My father told me that aunts were secretly in love with the Royal men, Zan and Rath, until Ava found out about it when Alana told Zan that he was being mind warped by Ava and that’s why she was killed. For loving Zan and protecting him. Her sister died of a broken heart after seeing Rath marry Vilandra.” Aida recalled.

“Wow, it’s like an alternate version of my life. Tess was mind warping Max…it doesn’t matter now, she’s gone.” Liz said with sudden sadness. “Kyle can you wait for me outside?”

“Girl talk. Yeah, I felt it coming.” Kyle said and then left.”

“Listen, I would love for you to come to the palace and meet everyone.” Liz said with a smile. “I’ll send Larek back for you. Uh, how soon can you have the pendant and photos done?” Liz asked standing up.

“Right now if you’d like.” Aida answered getting a puzzled look from Liz. “When the Royal Four where killed my father was there, he worked for the counsels. He only managed to get Rath and Zan’s pendants." Aida informed her as she dug in a small chest and handed Liz Rath and Zan's pendants.

“I would also like to get one for myself, Max, Kyle and my friend Maria, and our babies.” Liz added putting the pendants in her baby bag.

“Uh, than make it tomorrow morning.” Aida corrected.

“Tomorrow morning, that’s perfect.” Liz said with a smile heading for the door.

“What are they like so I know what symbol to put on them?” Aida asked.

“Oh, well, you just saw Kyle. He’s a great athlete and he’s into Buddhism. You know Karma, meditating, the whole nine yards.” Liz said with one breath. “Maria, well, she’s her own spirit I heard my mother say it so many times, she’s my best friend in the whole world and this world too. Oh, Alex, you have to make one for Alex. He was killed by Tess.” Liz said lowering her head and letting Ben play with her finger. “He was my best friend too…always will be. He was a musician, guitarists and really smart…a computer nerd…no not nerd…just smart.” Liz said with a sad smile. “My baby’s name is Benjamin and Maria’s baby’s in named Brady. They mean the world to us.”

“And Max?” Aida asked making mental notes of each person.

“Max.” Liz said with a blush. “I am completely utterly hopelessly in love with him. He takes care of all of us. He saved my life and risked everything for me. If there’s a symbol out there that covers everything Max is…I’d be really surprised.” Liz commented biting her lip.

“Does he love you the same way you love him?” Aida asked and saw Liz look up at her with assured eyes and smiled.

Max's Room

"Hey, Max? Let me get the book again. I want to scan it so when you know...at leadt we'll have a stored copy in case we need to leave things behind." Michael asked pointing to Max's room.

"Yeah, just don't wake Liz or Ben up." Max answered as he opened his door, but when they walked in, the bed had been made and Liz was no where in sight. "Liz?" Max called out but didn't get an answer.

"She's probably back at gossiping with Maria." Michael suggested, seeing Max was assuming the same thing, he walked to where the book was and tucked it underneath his arm. "Come on."

Michael's Room

"Michael? Is that you?" Maria asked as she rocked Brady in her arms.

"Yeah." Michael answered putting the book in one of his bags.

"Hey, Max. Can you tell Liz that I want to talk to her?" Maria said lowering Brady on the bed.

"I thought she was with you." Max answered in a worried tone.

"No, I haven't seen her since yesterday." Maria replied with the same worried expression.

"Then where is she?" Max asked storming out of Michael's room with Michael following behind.

Chapter 46

Post by Crashdown_51 »

Hey guys, got the title of my next fic and I confess that the first chapter made me even blush as I was writing it.  I want to get a couple more chapters down for it before I post it, either that or until this one is done. I was writing four at a time and I ended up with writers block. It's called Not Afraid B/C I Got 2 Love U. I know. I know. It's a long title. I'm thinking of shorting it to "Not Afraid" or "B/C I Got 2 Love U". I don't know, what do you guys think? :D :?:

Chapter 46

Max’s Room

By the time the three of them got back to the palace and Kyle and Liz reached her room, everyone else was waiting inside with Max. Max rested his elbows on his knees and banged his ‘fist in palm’ hands on his forehead while he waited anxiously.

“What’s going on?” Kyle asked noticing everyone was quiet.

“Liz!” Max called out as he rushed to her and kissed her and the baby in relief to see them both safe. “Where did you guys go?” Max asked hurt.

“To Panomine Rocks” Liz answered feeling guilty after seeing Max’s worried face.

“Where? Why? Why didn’t you tell me?” Max asked irritated.

“When I woke up you were gone.” Liz answered defensively.

“Liz that’s no excuse. You should have left a note or something.” Max added getting madder by the minute noticing everyone wanted to bolt for the door.

“Where Max? Under your note? Oh, that’s right you didn’t leave one.” Liz snapped back.

“Alright, you two.” Maria intervened, standing between them with a wide-eyed Brady in her arms. “You were both wrong.”

“Man, and to think you went to the mountains for them. If it were up to me I wouldn’t give them…”

“Kyle, forget it. It’s not important now.” Liz said cutting him off, pulling Ben out of the baby front pack and handed him to Kyle. “Sorry, baby for all the loud screaming. Go to Uncle Kyle.” Liz said in baby talk as she took off the carrier and placed it on the bed.

“What was in Panomine Rocks that you just 'had' to risk taking Ben with you?” Max asked with his arms crossed, emphasizing on the 'had'. Liz violently put her hands on her hips and looked from Max to Kyle in an ‘no he didn’t’ way and noticed that Kyle had the same expression as well. Liz threw up her hands in an ‘excuse me’ manner and walked over to the bed to dig in the baby bag and pulled out the pendants throwing them to Zan and Michael.

“Hey, what did we do?” Michael asked after the pendant hit him. “Where’d you find this?” Michael asked after seeing the familiar symbol engraved on it.

“Why aren’t they glowing like ours did, Angel?” Zan asked holding his out.

“Don’t worry about it. Point is you have it.” Liz said angry as she took Ben from Kyle’s arms and headed towards the door.

“Where are you going?” Max asked.

“Somewhere you’re not.” Liz said opening the door and stepping out. “Kyle!” She yelled from outside.

“Must be a human meeting.” Kyle said pointing to the door as Max stared him down. “Maria?”

“Coming.” Maria answered taking Brady with her and closing the door behind them.

“She looks pretty pissed, Maxwell.” Michael commented.

“Thanks, Michael. I noticed.” Max answered with sarcasm. “I should be the mad one.”

“Max, you embarrassed her in front of all of us. Of course she’s mad. I would be too if you were trying to be all controlling in front of my friends.” Isabel explained trying to justify Liz’s actions.

“So now it’s my fault?” Max asked in disbelief.

“Hey, you better make nice with Angel eyes cause I wanna know about this.” Zan said holding out his chain.

“Zan, I’m not in the mood for your crap right now.” Max warned.

“He’s right, Maxwell. I want to know too.” Michael added. Max struggled with himself and then walked out of the room in search of Liz.

Chapter 47 and 48

Post by Crashdown_51 »

Hey, guys. Sorry it took so long for the next part. I agree with everyone about Max acting like a jerk. During the show, he only let out that controlling King card in a few episodes, but I think the most memorable was "It's Too Late It's Too Bad", when he forces Isabel to stay and tries to control Liz...Michael even played "second-in-command" with him. Okay, trailed off for a moment.

Chapter 47

Michael’s Room

“Ahh, who does Max think he is?” Liz asked as she paced back and forth with Ben, irritated by Max’s possessive behavior.

“Liz, I admit he took things a bit far with that whole ‘putting Ben at risk’ comment cause we all know you would never do something like that, but you scared the hell out of him. I mean did you see how relieved he was when he saw you walk in?” Maria asked as she changed Brady. “I’m use to Michael pulling these stunts but you and Max, that’s a whole different situation.”

“Still, I went to Panomine for them…for him.” Liz answered. “And he pulls the King card on me.”

“I suggest you talk about it with him. This is how it got with my parents before they split. All the arguing. It was killing me to see them like that.” Kyle advised as he remembered his child hood before and after his mom left. “All I’m saying is that you guys are married now and you guys should start acting like it. It’s not just you two anymore. You guys have to think about Ben now too.”

“Liz?” Max’s voice was heard from outside as he opened the door slowly. Liz quickly raised her hand and used her powers to close the door.

“Go away, Max.” Liz warned as Kyle took Ben away as he noticed the green charges flow through her hand and feared that the baby would get hurt. Hours passed by and Max planted himself outside the door calling out Liz’s name over and over.

“He never gives up, does he?” Kyle asked annoyed by Max’s persistence getting a faint smile from Liz.

“Liz...Liz…Liz...Liz...” Max repeated with a hoarsen voice. Liz was sitting against the opposite side of the door, rocking Ben to sleep as she listened to Max repeat her name over and over, feeling even more guilty for sticking with the silent treatment.

“Liz, can you please speak to the guy?” Maria begged, tired of being held hostage in her room by Liz because he was guarding the door.

“Fine.” Liz said scooting over to the side and opening the door a crack seeing a look of desperation on Max’s face.

“Hi.” Max spoke softly.

‘Damn him for looking so vulnerable.’ Liz thought to her self. “Hi.” Liz answered without smiling.

“Liz, I’m sorry.” Max apologized. “Sorry for being a complete control freak. I just don’t want to lose you.”

“Max, I’m not going anywhere, but if you keep acting possessive like this…Max you have to trust me.” Liz demanded.

“I do. With my life.” Max replied without hesitation.

“Sometimes I don’t think that you do, Max.” Liz said kissing the top of Ben’s head as he slept snuggled on her chest. Max slid his hand in between the crack of the door and brushed the back of Ben’s little head and then brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. “Max, I’m going to stay here tonight. I need time to think.” Liz said seeing Max’s world crush at the sound of her wanting space away from him. Max nodded sadly and slowly made his way back to his room.

“Man, that was so sad.” Maria commented as she watched entertained with Kyle by her side. Liz looked back up at her with tears flooding her eyes and made her way back to the bed.

The Next Day

Max had tossed and turned all night on the floor while Michael slept on Max’s bed. Michael pointed out that since he couldn’t sleep in his own room because of Max, then he should be the one to sleep on the bed while Max camped out on the floor. He stared up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head, thinking about Liz, thoughts that were soon put on hold by a soft knock on the door. “Liz?” Max asked himself as he rushed to the door to see who it was. When he opened the door he was bewildered at the sight of Aida standing in front of him.

Chapter 48

“Aida.” Kyle called out from the hallway, breaking the mystified stares that Max and Aida were exchanging. “Man, you weren’t kidding when you said tomorrow morning. Liz is over here.” Kyle pointed to Michael’s door and let her go in first. “Hey, Presidente, why don’t you gather up the rest of the troops. Liz has something to give you guys.” Kyle suggested as he walked in. Max stood with a stern expression towards Kyle’s sarcastic remarks and then went back inside to wake Michael.

Michael’s Room

“Aida, hey.” Liz greeted with a hug.

“Uh, Liz?” Maria said waving hello to Aida, swearing she had just stepped in to the twilight zone.

“Oh, Maria, this is Aida. Aida this is my best friend, Maria. She’s Michael’s…uh, Rath’s…wife.” Liz introduced with a smile, while Aida lowered her head in a bow to Maria. “Are those the…” Liz said pointing to a suede package that Aida was carrying.

“Yes, they are.” Aida answered placing the suede package on the end of the bed and unfolding the flaps to reveal seven pendants and tin-type of sheet that looked as if it had been ripped out of the destiny book. Liz picked up the tin sheet and looked at front and back penciled. “Like this.” Aida said waving her hand over it to reveal the image of a middle-aged man in Antarian uniform.

“It’s beautiful.” Liz complimented as Aida waved her hand back over it and the image was gone. Liz noticed Maria and Kyle curiously peeking at what Aida brought and Liz quickly ‘shooed’ them to the opposite end of the room.

“Hey.” Max said walking in the room with Michael, Ava, and Zan. Liz couldn’t tell if Aida’s stunned expression was from seeing two Max’s or from seeing Ava.

“This is Ava…not Tess.” Liz clarified. “That’s Max, Zan, and Michael.” Liz introduced as Aida bowed. Max and Zan just gawked at Aida for how much she appeared as Liz. “Uh, Aida brought something for us.” Liz said taking the first pendant in her hand with a symbol that seemed like an incomplete infinity sign and showed it to Aida for her to explain what it meant.

“Impressive. That one is yours. Arae Malca, it means wisest Queen.” Aida informed her as Liz put it on. Aida then took another pendant with the symbol that had a ‘less than’ greater than’ sign with a line going down the middle. “Mannix Atlos, it means holy athlete.” Liz took the pendant and put it around Kyle’s neck, taking a step back feeling, ironically, like Queen Elizabeth as she knighted honorable men. “This one is Yekira Amiss, it means precious friend who’s free.” Aida announced as she hand Liz the pendant of joined C’s and watched as she hung it around Maria’s neck and then moved back to place. “These are for the little ones, Aika and Caylx, spirited and son of the right hand.” Liz smiled and handed the Caylx one to Maria who was already in tears in Michael’s arms. When she went back to Aida she handed Liz one with the symbol of a slanted ‘Wl:’. “Per Imre Asa, it means heroic King healing protector.” Liz took it and placed it around Max’s neck, when she was about to back away Max held on to her hand that was pressed up against his chest. Liz gave him a faint smile and then moved back Aida who handed her the last pendant with the symbol of an awkward shaped ‘Z’. “Shel Lyrae, clever musician.”

“It’s for Alex’s father.” Liz said handing the pendant to Maria who hugged Liz in tears.

“Thank you.” Maria cried before returning to Michael’s arms. Liz then picked up the tin sheet and moved up to face Michael. “Michael, a long time ago you told me that we have to know who our friends are and I know one friend who’s been there for everyone I love. “You got Max back for me when Pierce took him. You take care and love Maria. You befriended Alex and Kyle. You were loyal to my dad…your like the brother I never had and I know when you go off with Max, he’ll always be safe with you at his side…this is the only way I could think of to repay all you’ve done.” Liz said handing Michael the tin-sheet.

“Uh, thanks.” Michael said looking confused, not seeing anything special about the sheet but thanked her for her kind words. Liz took his hand and placed it over the sheet. Michael took her hint and waved his hand over it and revealed an image he had seen before from the orbs. Michael looked at her in surprise and eyes full of tears that he was holding back. “My father.” Michael choked out and then gave her a short hug. “This means a lot.”

“Your welcome.” Liz answered feeling good inside for her deed.

“So. Why aren’t they glowing?” Zan asked, repeating his previous question as before.

“The Royal Four’s are the only ones that do.” Aida answered.

“Yesterday, Liz threw Michael’s and mine at us. Why didn’t they shine?” Zan asked seeing Liz biting her lip from guilt for throwing the pendants at them.

“They only shine when they are lost. The pendants were back with their rightful owners.” Aidan explained. Zan recalled seeing Isabel wearing hers and remembered giving Ava hers back, making sense to Aida theory.

“Wow, this is just like Christmas, with a story and all.” Kyle commented. ”I hate to be the Grinch of the tale but don’t we got something to do today?” Kyle asked hinting on their trip back home.

“He’s right. We got to go now.” Michael announced.

“Um, Aida I’m so grateful for what you did. Thank you so much.” Liz thanked in a rush.

“It was an honor, my Queen. I hope we meet again.” Aida answers as she bows and then heads out the door. The scattered to collect their things and met back in Max’s room.

Max’s Room

“You guys ready?” Max asked, seeing everyone nod. “Let’s go.” Max said heading towards the door.

“Wait. I can’t go”

Okay, so I retrack my previous statement and go with what I was going with before. I don't think I had anything else to give to "Erase and Rewind". I split the chapter I had in two because I wanted to end with 50 chapters even.

Chapter 49

“Kyle, don’t be crazy, of course you’re coming back.” Liz answered.

“No…I forgot something. I’ll be right back.” Kyle said running back to his room.

“Uh, I can’t go either.” Zan announced.

“What?” Ava exclaimed.

“Ava, if we go back, where’re we gonna go? Back to livin’ in the sewers. These guys have their life set. Banana Republic and picket fences…it don’t include us.” Zan admitted.

“That’s not true. You’ve been part of this team.” Liz informed him as she held on to Ben in the baby carrier.

“Wish that could be true, Angel eyes. I could never be happy. I want you. You know it. Max knows it. Can’t have Jr. here livin’ without folks because of me, can I?” Zan confessed with a weak smile. “If I stay here…I stay here.” Zan implied the palace.

“You could be King.” Max added.

“Nah, man, that’s your gig.” Zan said shaking off the thought.

“Alright, I’m back.” Kyle announced.

“You could fill in for me.” Max continued to press. “When we get back, they’re going to come looking for us…but they won’t if you pose as me.”

“Pose. They got ways of checkin’ that out, Elvis.” Zan answered.

“Not if they already think I’m here.” Max replied with a sly smirk. Zan nodded in agreement and waved his hand in front and over his face, using his powers to remove his goatee and hair twists to appear more as Max.

“You’re okay, Max-a-million.” Zan complimented and then looked at Ava. “You can go wit them if you want.”

“I told you before. I go where you go.” Ava said holding his hand.

“You guys better get goin’ before someone sees ya’ll.” Zan advised.

Stone Mausoleum

“We go in all at once.” Max ordered.

“If we get separated, we meet back at Eagle Rock.” Michael added holding Maria closer to him.

“Max…” Liz called out and kissed Max, feeling him longing to kiss her “In case something goes wrong…I love you...I’m still mad at you…but I love you.” She confessed frightened.

“I love you too.” Max said, holding Liz’s hand as she wrapped her arm around Ben, who was bobbing in the baby carrier. “Ready? 1…2…3…”

Starter – The Cardigans

This is a start
that I know I'll believe in
so I'm leavin' everything behind
Keeping the parts
that I know I'll be needing
and I breed to be a better kind
And I'm leavin' everyone behind

This is the age
when my past should be gone
but it's just stronger than the aims I have
Turning the pages
I used to hang on to
I was young and I have changed my mind
And I'm leaving everything behind

New beginning again
a bit closer
new beginning again
a little bit closer
New beginning again
a bit closer to the end

This is the time
it's a delicate line
to the beginning of what's yet to come
Lifetimes of changes
a strange generation
explanations never come in time
So I'm leavin' everything behind

Chapter 50

Crystal's Diner

One Month Later

“Can I get you folks anything else?” Liz asked an elderly couple as she pulled her pen and pad from her apron of her tan waitress uniform and awaited their answer.

“The check would be nice.” The elderly woman answered with a smile.

“Alright. Here ya go.” Liz said handing her the check and collected the payment as she glanced at the clock. “Have a nice day.” She said ringing up the bill as the couple left. She glanced back at the clock before walking into the back to punch out, seeing Maria had already beaten her to the punch. “You clocked out already?” Liz asked surprised.

“My watch says 5:01p.m. so technically I’m a minute in overtime.” Maria says pointing to her wristwatch and then buttoned her jeans. “What time do the guys work tonight?”

“Nine.” Liz answered as she changed into her clothes. Suddenly, Liz heard the chimes of the door and looked out to see Max scanning the room for her. “Max is here.” Liz announced as Maria folded her uniform and tossed it inside her locker. Liz grabbed her bag and headed out to meet him. “Hi.” Liz said giving him a quick kiss.

“Hey, you two ready?” Max asked holding Liz closely to him.

“Yeah. How’s Ben?” Liz asked wrapping her arms tighter around him.

“Putting Michael and Isabel through hell.” He answered with a smile.

“Did you eat?” Liz asked concerned.

“Yeah, Michael made us Tabasco Fruit Loops before I left.” Max answered seeing Maria approach them.

“Max, that’s not food.” Liz said disappointed. “When we get home, I’ll make you something.” Liz declared taking Max’s hand and headed out the door. They rented a house that was near by, in case of emergency while Isabel baby-sat Ben and Brady, Maria and Liz could rush home. Kyle went back to New York to get the cars they hidden before they left to Antar and was do back any day now.

The Gang’s House

“Hey guys.” Isabel greeted sitting on the carpet with Ben and Brady bouncing on their Fisher Price Baby Bouncers. Maria and Liz dropped their bags and bee-lined their way to Ben and Brady, making little baby noises and asking them if the missed them. Michael came out from the back room and kissed Maria when he saw her.

“Did you give it to her yet?” Michael asked Max. Liz’s ears twitched from Michael’s question and looked straight at Max to find out what they were talking about.

“Thanks Michael.” Max stated irritated the Michael had ruined the surprise he was about to spring on her.

“What’s going on?” Liz asked.

“How can you forget our anniversary?” Max asked clutching his chest insinuating that her not knowing really hurt.

“Anniversary?” Liz said looking at everyone who had an amused smile plastered on their faces as they watched Liz mentally in anguish, twirling the pendant with her finger as she tried to recall what day it was. And then suddenly it hit her. “Oh, my God! How can I forget?”

“Yep, Spetember 23rd.” Michael announced, pulling a gift box from behind the couch and handed it to her. “It was Max’s idea.” Michael added. Liz looked over at Max who had an anxious smile on his face. She quickly began shaking the box top to get the bottom released. When it finally did, Liz searched through the party tissue and pulled out a bound journal, with sealed inked-footprints of Ben on the cover, and a brand new fountain pen.

“Oh, Max…” Liz gasped in surprise, looking at him with a proud smile, and jumped to her feet to kiss him. “It’s beautiful.” She said hugging him tight.

“Look inside.” Max said with a small laugh. Liz opened the book and flipped through the through the pages seeing that in each corner of her journal was the image from each of their pendants and that the first few pages were already written on by Max, Isabel, Michael, and Maria. Michael watched how excited Liz was over a small gift and remembered how Max was trying to give him pointers on how to be romantic with Maria.

‘She wants the romance thing. The thing that you and Liz got.’

‘Is that what you want?’

‘I just want to make her happy. And you're gonna tell me how to do it.’

‘It's not like there's a handbook.’

‘I'm serious, Max.’

‘All right...romantic. Um, try taking her out...someplace nice. And, uh, surprises...they love surprises. Like, you know, little things, like a note in her locker, or a flower in the middle of the day.’

“Do you like it?” Maria asked.

“You knew about this?” Liz asked surprised.

“Yeah and it was hell trying to keep it a secret. With your premonition powers and…”

“The fact that you can’t keep a secret.” Michael added, getting an offensive shove by Maria.

“I couldn’t ask for anything more.” Liz thanked, gripping her new journal close to her.

Backyard

It’s already nightfall and Liz is sitting in the backyard on the cushion canopy wooden swing that Michael made with her journal opened and her pen ready to write, thinking of the emotional words everyone wrote to her.

‘Hey Liz.
I know we haven’t gotten along in the past, but what did you expect, you took my little brother away from me. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if Max never…you know…I would be still in Roswell, New Mexico running for town Major or something, still living in secret. We would have been millions of miles away if you didn’t find out about Tess. I couldn’t help but feel responsible…because it was my fault…I brought Tess to the group… Alex would have never…because of us…But then I think about what has happened since we’ve met you. You made me an aunt, I met Jesse, I have Kyle, friends like you and Maria, I’m closer to my brothers…and my parents know and love me…the real me… and I thank you for that.
Isabel.’

‘What’s up, Lizzy?

Uh, Maria’s making me write touchy feely stuff, so whatever I write I don’t want to her about it later. So, you and Max? I’m supposed to write about you, but see that’s just the thing…without you there is no Max. You got him from brooding and paranoid to relaxed and…human. Max keeps saying how he’s been in love with you since he first met you, even earlier then that. I personally think the love thing didn’t happen until the third day when he broke a bathroom stall on me, over you. You already know what I think of you from our last talk in the Crash, but I wanted to say thank you. Knowing you…I have a wife and son…and I got to see and hear my real father…and the photo…I don’t think theirs anything in the world I can repay you with that will amount to how much all that means to me.
You’re brother-in-law,
Michael.

P.S. Metallica rocks.’

Liz laughed looking at the Metallica insignia the Michael doodled under his message and then looked over Max’s for the millionth time.

‘My Liz…my love…my wife…my life. I can only think of one thing to tell you…thank you for not listening to logic but instead to your heart. I’ve come to realize that I am possessive over you. You’re my wife, my best friend, my Queen, and the mother of my child…so how could I not be? Thank you for leading me into being a better man and making and living our destiny with the people that mean the most to me. I love you. I will always love you.
Max.’

Liz traced her fingers over Max’s name and thought back on all the moments they’ve shared in the past four years. She inked up her pen and pierced it into the first line, making a pool of ink on the ‘S’ in September.

‘September 23rd. Journal entry one. I’m Liz Evans and four years ago I died. And after that…’

Liz stopped writing when she heard Ben crying and Max trying to cheer him up on the baby monitor.

‘Hey, there. Daddy’s got to go to work, so you look after Mommy for me.’

A smile stretched across Liz’s face and she went back to her journal writing one last line before heading upstairs.

‘…after that it doesn’t matter, because right now I’m really happy…and right now I have to go be with my husband and son.’

THE END
