I look at her. "If you say so" I say not believing her for a second.
I decide to change tactics..."So did you know that one add one is two...aren't I intelligent...is it working?" I joke, hoping she remembered out previous conversation so I didn't look like even more of a fool.
(Alex feels like a fool....hmm...wonder who else feels like one.... *points at self*)
