I smile when Alex places his hand on my belly,as if she knows her father is close the baby kicks again

"It's the best feeling in the world." I tell her enjoying the feel of our baby's kicks under my fingertips.

"Isabel, I know what I did was horrible, and I can't believe i did it, but I'm glad. I'm glad because all it took was one kiss from her to send me running back to you. I love Maria. She's has my best friend, until now. Now it's you. Your my lover, my best friend, and my everything. I met you and without meaning to you flipped my whole world upside down. That scared me, and I lost my head for a while, but I'm back now. I'm here and I want to be with you. Just you."

Taking her hands in mine I silently pray that she doesn't snatch them away. Even though I wouldn't blame her if she did. i deserve that and much worse.

"I want to make this work ,but in order to do that we both have to know what we want. I want to marry you, Isabel. On the day and location that you choose. I want to see our child be born and I want to watch him/her grow to be just as strong and kind as it's mother. I want so many things for us, but none of them work if you don't want them too. So tell me, and I'll do whatever you ask what do you want?"

Is it possible to love and hate someone with equal intensity?

Whatever he just said...it's all I ever wanted to hear from him.

The first thought that came to my mind when he held my hands was to pull away...he's hurt me so much and I don't think I can take anymore.

But...but what if by pushing him away I am pushing away the only chance of happiness I might have.

What is it about him that makes my heart melt,everytime he's near?

"I know what i did was selfish and extremely hurtful, and I plan on spending the rest of my life making it up to you. I know that I am in love with you beyond a shadow of a doubt, and I want this baby. Please tell me you'll be mine."

Looking at him,I take a moment to respond "I never stopped being yours...even when I was busy telling myself how much I hated you and trying to devise ways to hurt you...There was always this annoying little voice in my head which said I loved you and wouldn't be able to stop."

"That was even more frustrating" I chuckle "But I guess that voice might have been our baby's...she's going to be special...I know it.She's going to keep us together."

"She?" I question, tears of happiness soaking my cheeks."We are having a baby girl." I state to myself. Placing my hands to her belly I seek movement any kind to let me no she recognizes her daddy. I must look like a mad man as I place my ear to her belly.

"Baby can you hear me? This is your Daddy. I love you and your mommy. We are going to be a family. Right?" My eyes search hers for confirmation.

"Alex" I exclaim,sitting up in the bed as he puts his ear on my belly "Don't be crazy,she can't hear you nor can she understand...she's still too tiny.And your stubble is tickling me."

"I know I'm crazy!" I pick her up and swing her around effortlessly. "I'm crazy about you!" I kiss her passionately across the lips. "Of course she understands me. Our baby is special."

I spout of poetry to the woman I love.

I wrap my arms around her possessively, "From now on if we have a problem we talk it out. No running away and no giving up."

Running my fingers through her hair I press my lips to hers. How could I have ever thought I could live without this?
