When we're about 10 minutes from my father's estate I look over at Alex

"The house will come into view as soon as we turn the corner." I say smiling but then frown slightly when I notice the tense expression which graces his usually calm features

"What's wrong?"

Mentally thanking whoever thought of making a glass panel between the chauffeur and the back seats I slide closer to him,taking his hands in mine

"Don't be...I know it's easier said than done but like I said before,just be yourself.My father will appreciate you being completely honest with him."

I kiss him before continuing "I'm not going to lie and say it will be a cake walk...he will ask questions.I am his only daughter after all but I'll be with you and mum knows all about you."

I hope I have allayed some of his fears

"It's beautiful isn't it." I say softly looking at my home

It isn't huge but very striking with the ivy growing on the stone walls,the manicured lawns

How I missed this place

Isabel

The car pulls up in fornt of my home,and I jump out barely able to contain my excitement

I see my father and mother coming down the stairs "Hi Daddy!" I run to him and give him a big hug

Turning to my mother who looks very happy I say "I missed you guys so much." hugging her I whisper into her ear "Alex is a little nervous...keep an eye on Dad."

I hold out my hand to Alex who is coming up behind me "Daddy,Mama,this is Alexander Whitman." I introduce him,not letting go of his left hand,full of pride,joy and nervousness

'Please let them like him.'

I give him the once over...seems okay though only time will tell if he's good enough for my Izzy

Firm hand shake which is a good sign but then again can't judge him by that standard

"Let's go in shall...my wife has prepared or should I say overseen the preparation of a grand feast...we've missed our girl."

Max:

Getting up to get dressed I'm a little worried because Liz has yet to see me today. Feeling much better than the day before I thought I'd suprise her.
After going outside and finding her reading in the gazebo over looking the luxious garden. "Hey." I smiled when she looked up from her book and saw me standing there staring at her.

Liz:

"Hey yourself. Why are you up?" I had hoped for the last couple of days that his ribs would heal and now I think they have. He's standing right there.

Max:

"Don't worry, I'm okay...I just wanted to thank you for everything. I mean you didn't have to stay by my side the way you did and I appreciate it."

Liz:

"It was nothing..."

Max:

"No, It was...Not how about that dinner? Tonight. A promise is a promise."

Liz:

I smiled I can't believe he remembered. "Yes. I'd like that."

Max:

Be ready by eight...I have to go home for a bit...I'll be back in a few hours." But before I left I went over and kissed her on the lips. "bye liz"

Liz:

"bye." I smiled giddly as he left the garden and sighed deeply to myself.
