Eve Liz is very slowly coming around. It will take time but she does see that Max and Serena aren't bad people.

L-J-L 76 Liz is slowly letting them in. As for Kivar, he will be around for a bit yet.





Part 11 One week later

Liz stood on the sandy beach of the lake and watched as Isabel and Alex swam near each other. Kyle was chase Serena in the shallow water, while Maria had just shoved Michael under.

"We don't have to do this today if you aren't ready." Said Max from behind her.
"No I need to do this."
"If you are sure."

Max reached out his hand and Liz took it. He slowly led her out to where the water was up to her waist.

"Liz, I want you to lean forward don't worry I will hold you." Said Max

Liz bit her lip and took a deep breath, then with Max's help she leaned over and raised her feet off the ground. Max placed one of his hands on her stomach and held her.

"Liz, I am going to move my hand ok? But I won't leave your side. Try and relax and you will stay a float."

Liz looked into his warm amber eyes and nodded. Max removed his hands and smiled when he saw her floating. After a few minutes Liz dropped her feet.

"That is good Liz! The first step in learning to swim is floating." Said Max
"Max! I have never done that before!"
"Want to try adding a kick to it?"
"Ok."
"Just lean forward like you just did and take my hands."

Liz did as Max told her.

"Now trying not to bend your knees move your legs up and down in the water. Kind of like kicking a ball."

Liz nodded and did what Max asked. She found it hard at first but soon it got easier. Max slowly started to walk backwards never letting go of her. After a few minutes Max helped Liz put her feet down and gave her a kind of half smile.

"You did really well for your first lesson." Said Max
"Thanks."
"Liz, may I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure."
"Which is the real you? The hard headed stubborn one who doesn't like to be told what to do. Or this softer almost sweet one?"
"I am both Max. I don't give in easy. But I can also be kind. I know I haven't made things easy on you."
"No you haven't."
"I am sorry about that. It's just my parent's were all I had."
"You aren't alone. Liz if let us in we can be a family for you. I know we will never replace your parents, but you have to let us in."
"It's just hard. I just wish I knew what happened to them."

Max turned way from Liz not knowing how to tell her what he knew. Liz watched him and wondered what he knew.

"Max do you know something?" Asked Liz
"Yeah I do."
"What is it?"
"Liz, I don't know how to tell you this."
"It's bad isn't it?"
"Yes."
"Max, just tell me. Drawing it out will only make it harder on both of us."

Max took a deep breath and looked right into Liz's eyes.

"There was an earthquake not long after the ship you were on left. The town you lived in was hit really hard. The whole town was destroyed."
"What happened to my parents?" Asked Liz her voice breaking
"I'm so sorry, but they didn't make it."
"My parents died?"
"Yes."

Liz fell to her knees and started to cry. Max knelt next to her and held her.

"Take me back to the palace Max. I need to be alone."

Max picked Liz up and carried her home and right to her room. He called a maid to help her change. He then when to his own room to change.

With 17, losing your parents must be devastating... I remember having this kind of fear, when I was this old...

And even now that my parents are dead, I still every day think about them... So I really hope Max can put himself at Liz's place and that will help him understand!

Great chapter!!!! Please please please please please please please please please please come back and post more really really really really soon?I can't read what will happen next for Max and Liz. I love how everyone is together and having fun. I think it was really sweet of Max to teach Liz to swim. I'm glad Max and Liz talked. I'm glad Max let Liz know about her parents. I think Max did good taking her back to her room. Will Max come back and check on Liz? Will Liz let Max in? Will Liz cry on Max's shoulder? Will Serena and the others be there for Liz?Will the king and Queen be there for Liz? Will Max and Liz hang out and talk? Will Max and Liz kiss? Will Max and Liz become friends? Will Max and Liz become more then friends? Will Max and Liz fall for each other? Will Max and Liz admit their feeling to each other? Will Max and Liz go to the dances together? Will Max and Liz have a happy ending together? So sorry for the questions I was just wondering. Please please please please please please please please please please come back and post more really really really really soon? I can't wait to read what will happen next for Max and Liz.

Max was walking through the garden when Serena found him.

"Hey big brother."
"Oh hi Rena."
"What's wrong?"
"She is going to pull away. Just when we are starting to become friends she is going to pull away."
"Why? What happened?"
"She asked if I knew anything about her parents."
"You told her?"
"Yeah. I did it as gently as I could."
"Max, give her a couple days. She is grieving right now."
"I know that."
"Max, if Liz really has started to care about you in anyway. Even as just a friend she will come to you when she is ready."
"When did you get so smart?"
"I always have been. You just never noticed. You have always seen me as your pesty little sister."
"Rena, you aren't a pest. A pain in the ass sure. But I love you."
"Love you too big brother. I will check on her later OK?"
"Thanks."

Max hugged his younger sister then both headed in to get ready for dinner.

Liz laid on her bed crying. She felt someone place a gentle hand on her back. She looked up to see Diane. Diane didn't say a word just opened her arms and Liz fell into them. Diane wrapped her in a hug and held her as she cried.

"I know, you are hurting honey. But I am sure that your parents would want you to be happy."
"I miss them so much!"
"I know. Liz, you know that if you hadn't come here that you might have died too?"
"Yes."
"I know that you have been really unhappy since you came here."
"Diane, I know I haven't made it easy on anyone."
"None of us expected you to be happy about leaving your home."
"By why was I chosen?"
"Not every human is compatible with us. You, Maria, Kyle and Alex all are. While we aren't that different from humans we aren't the same either. Though we have away to increase the number of humans that are. But it has to be done before the humans reach full maturity."
"That's why you only bring those thirteen and younger isn't it?"
"Yes. Liz, you know it was Serena who said that you would be perfect for Max."
"She didn't know me. Still doesn't really. Though that is more my fault then her's."
"Antarians have these gifts. They let us do things. One of Serena's is to see the true nature of a person. She knows that behind that stubborn strong willed exterior is this kind sweet and loving young woman."
"What about Max?"

Diane smiled knowing that her son was slowly breaking down the wall around this young woman's heart.

"Well, he has the ability to heal almost any injury."
"I don't understand."
"OK Liz, let's say you broke your leg. Now on earth that would take what about six, maybe eight weeks to heal in a cast? That is if it had been a simple break right?"
"Yeah something like that."
"Well in only a couple of minutes he could make it as if it never happened."
"Wow."
"He will never hurt you."
"I know."
"Try and get some rest."
"Thanks Diane."

Diane kissed Liz on the top of her head and left. Diane walked into the room she shared with her husband.

"How is the girl?"
"She is hurting. Her parents were all she had."
"Diane, tell me something do you love me?"
"Where is this coming from Philip?"
"Just answer the damn question woman!"
"We have been married for nearly twenty years. I have share your bed, given you three children. Completed the bond with you."
"Diane, that doesn't mean you love me. My parents could barely stand each other. We didn't even meet until our wedding day."
"I will be honest. I didn't love you when we first married. But over the years I have grown to care and love you."
"I love you Diane. I have for a long time. I want our children and their chosen mates to find love in each other."
"Well, then I guess I tell you this. Elizabeth is starting to care for our son."
"Good. Now we just need to keep that bastard Kivar away from that girl."

Great Chapter!!!! Please please please please please please please please please please come back and post more really really really really soon? I can't wait to read what will happen next for Max and Liz. I'm glad Max wants to be there for Liz. I think Max and Serena's talk was good. I'm glad that Diane was there for Liz when she needed someone. And I'm glad Diane told Liz something's too. I like how Philip and Diane can easily talk to each other. And finally I agree with Philip and Diane about keeping Kivar away from Liz.

I really really like your Diane. She's very maternal, very caring. She's a good support and a good mother-substitute for Liz.

And even though it hurt Liz to find out that her parents have died, it was good that she found out. And I think it was good that Max was the one to tell her. In order for their relationship to develop and Liz to be able to trust him, they need to be able to share the serious stuff and be honest.

L-J-L 76 Diane is a very kind and caring woman. She knew that Liz needed a more motherly person than a friend.

max and liz believer Diane is a very warm person. She knows that Liz needs a motherly presents right now. Max knew that to earn Liz's full trust that he had to be honest to her about her parents. If he had lied and she found out later it would have broken the trust he had started to earn.







Part 13 One month later

Liz walked through the garden lost in thought.

"Liz?"

Liz turned to see Serena.

"Oh hi."
"Are you OK?"
"Yeah."
"You know you have be at the state dinner tonight."
"I know. I don't like it but I will be there."
"Max has been worried about you."
"Serena, I have accepted that I will never go home again."
"But, you still can't accept that this is your home."
"I'm sorry. I just can't."
"Well uh we should head inside and get ready."
"OK."

Liz headed inside with Serena and when to her room where she found two maids waiting for her. She when into her bathroom and took a shower. When she came out she found the maids had set out a very nice dress for her to wear. One had left while the other had stayed to help her get ready.

"Please sit Miss Elizabeth."

Liz sat at the dressing table and the maid went to work on her hair. Liz winced as the maid worked on a tough tangle. After half an hour Liz saw that her hair had been place in a French twist.

"You have beautiful hair Miss Elizabeth."
"Thank you."

The maid then when to work putting make up on Liz. Once she was done the maid helped Liz into the dress. It was a dark blue off the shoulder dress that fell just below Liz's knees. It had a fitted bodist and flared skirt. There was gold embroidery around the neckline. Liz had to admit that it was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen.

"You look very beautiful Miss Elizabeth. The Prince will be speechless when he sees you."

Liz looked at her reflection in the mirror. She couldn't believe that was really her. She looked like a princess. Just then there was a knock on the door. The maid opened the door to find Max. Liz looked at him and swallowed. He looked very handsome. He was dressed in a black tuxedo with a dark blue bow tie and coverbun there was gold trim a long the lapels.

"Wow! Liz, you look beautiful. Not that you don't always look good." Said Max
"Thank you. You don't look bad yourself."
"May I have the honor of escorting you to the grand ball room for dinner?"
"You may you're highness."

Max took Liz's hand and kissed it causing her to blush. Liz then took his offered arm and they headed down to the ball room. They walked in Liz on Max's arm. Liz felt her heart start to race as she saw all the people there.

"Liz it will be OK." Said Max
"Max, I don't know how to act at these things!"
"Just relax and be yourself."

Max led her over to a couple. They looked a few years older then she was.

"Lord Larick, Lady Ava it's good to see you." Said Max
"You to my friend. Now who is this lovely young lady?" Asked Larick
"This is Miss Elizabeth Parker." Said Max
"Oh yes one of our new citizens from earth. How are you liking Antar Miss Parker?" Said Larick
"It's very different from everything I am use to." Said Liz
"Liz, Lord Larick and his wife Lady Ava are family friends." Said Max
"I hope that that one day you and I can be friends." Said Ava
"That would be nice Lady Ava." Said Liz

Ava gave Liz a warm smile. Then Max led Liz away to meet others who had come to the dinner. Max was leading her over to meet Lord Sero and his wife when a voice stopped him.

"Prince Maxwell aren't you going to introduced me to your lady friend?" Came a cold voice

Max felt Liz stiffen next to him. They turned around and Liz saw the coldest blue eyes she had ever seen. She knew this was the man she saw that night she ran from the palace.

"Lord Kivar." Said Max
"And who is your lady?"
"Miss Elizabeth Parker this is Lord Kivar. He live a couple miles from the palace. Lord Kivar, Elizabeth has come here from earth."
"Uh yes one of the humans your father has had brought here to mix with us. So tell me has her hand been promised to anyone yet?"
"As a matter of fact it has. To me!" Said Max with as much authority as he could muster.

Kivar narrowed his eyes and looked at Liz. Max pulled Liz away heading for another part of the room. Kivar watched them go.

"Sir what are you going to do about her? There is no way in hell I will follow a human queen." Said Nicholas
"That bitch will never be queen Nicholas. Once I get ride of most of the royals. Only keeping Princess Isabel alive she will be my wife and that human on Max's arm will be nothing but a whore like every other human bitch."

Nicholas grinned knowing that he would get a chance to ride the human bitch.
