Michael walked out onto the balcony and handed Liz a cup of hot tea.

"Thanks Michael."
"So you really like this Max guy?"
"Michael, I don't want to talk about it."
"You know Maria isn't going to let it drop. She wants to know everything."
"I know. But I just don't want to talk about it."
"You know I am cool with that. But I think it's time for you to deal with what Sean tried to do to you."

Jessica Marks limped up the stairs of her apartment building. She was in a lot of pain. After Zan had left her his friend came in and injected something into her that made her fuzzy. Rath then like Zan forced himself on her. They had taken turns for over three hours raping her. Michael looked at Liz.

"Should we call an ambulance?" Asked Maria
"It will faster if we take her. The closest is less then a mile away." Said Liz
"I'll drive." Said Max

Michael reached down and picked Jessica up in his arms.

"Maria run up to apartment 402 tell her parents that we are taking Jessica to the hospital. They are Dr. and Mrs. Marks" Said Liz
"Ok. Liz how old is she?" Asked Maria
"Sixteen."
"Damn, someone really messed her up."
"Yeah."

Maria ran up the stairs while Liz went down with Michael and Max.

"Michael, I am going with Max. You and Maria can either stay here or take my car. Just turn right out of the garage and follow the signs." Said Liz
"Ok. Your spare keys where you always keep them?" Asked Michael
"Yeah."

Max looked at Liz and then pulled out of his parking spot and headed for the hospital. He pulled right to to the ER door. Liz got out and got some help to get Jessica out of the car. Seconds later Jessica was wheeled into the ER. Liz sat in the waiting room to wait while Max parked his car.

Liz looked up as Max, Michael and Maria came in followed closely by Jessica's parents.

"Liz what happened? Where is Jessica?" Asked Mrs. Marks
"I don't know what happened. I found her outside my door asking for help. She is with a doctor. What I do know is someone hurt her really badly." Said Liz

Just then a doctor came out. Dr. Marks walked over to her.

"Lynn what happened to my daughter?" Asked Dr. Marks
"Steven, she is in bad shape. There are signs of sexual assault. It also appears that she was drugged. I am still waiting on the lab report to come back."
"Are you saying my little girl was raped?" Asked Steven
"Yes. I already called the police and did a rape kit. Whoever did this was brutal. There is a lot of vaginal tearing. I have her sedated. I want to keep her here a few days. You should be greatful to your neighbors here for getting Jessica here as fast as they did."

Both Steven Marks and his wife Tara hugged and thanked Liz, Max, Michael and Maria. Then the four of them headed for home.

Part 18

Liz sat in Max's jeep with him as they headed back to their building. Michael and Maria were following in Liz's car.

"You OK Liz?"
"Not really. Jessica is such a sweet girl. When I have to go out of town to film something I pay her to water my plants. She use to feed my fish until they died."
"Liz what happened to her is horrible. But she has to be a fighter. She was able to make it up two flights of stairs."

Max parked and watched as Michael pulled Liz's black Mustang into her parking spot next to him. Liz got out of the jeep and headed upstairs with Maria. Michael hung back to talk to Max.

"Yeah. She is really a sweet and kind person."

After some research we were able to find out that the young man is Maxwell Evans a law student at USC and son of well known entertainment lawyer Philip Evans. It is also a point to note that he is the cousin of Parker's co star from Stone Crossing Zan Banister. Could Banister have helped set the two of them up? We just have to wait to see if this this is more then friendship between the two."

Zan took another swig of vodka before throwing the bottle across the room causing it to smash.

Love the way Max is trying to be there for Liz. Can't believe Michael told Max what happened to Liz when she was in Roswell. Michael should have let Liz tell Max herself not tell Max behind her back. Part 19

Liz walked out of her bedroom and was passing the guest room. She could hear sounds coming through the closed door that told her that her friends were not sleeping. She sighed and headed for the kitchen. It wasn't like she didn't know that Michael and Maria had sex. They had been together since they were sixteen. They had even moved in together after high school. She didn't even mind that they had sex when they visited. But sometimes it made it hard that she hadn't found someone that she loved and trusted enough to be with that way. She grabbed a pen and her note pad on the breakfast bar and left a note for her friends. She then walked across the hall to see if Max was up. Taking a deep breath she knocked on his door. A couple minutes later the door opened with Max in nothing but his boxers and wet hair from his shower. Max smiled when he saw her face turn red.

"Morning Liz." Said Max
"Uh morning Max. I was wondering if you wanted to have breakfast with me?"
"Sure. Let me get dressed and then we can see what I got."
"Yeah sure."

*But I really wouldn't mind if you didn't get dressed.* Liz thought

Max smiled and headed to his bedroom to get dressed. Liz sat on a stool at the breakfast bar. Max returned five minutes later wearing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Liz was a little disappointed that she couldn't stare at his bare chest any more. Max walked over to the refrigerator and opened it up.

"Well looks like I got eggs, milk, bread and orange juice."
"You have syrup?"
"Yeah."
"How about French toast?"
"Well I don't know how to make it."
"Well I do. Pull out some eggs the milk and bread. Then pull out a grille if you have it. If not a fry pan will work. Oh and a spatula."

Max got Liz everything she asked for. He watched as first placed the grille on the stove poured a little olive oil on it and turned on the burner. She then took three eggs and cracked them into a bowl poured in some milk and used a fork to beat it all together. She then took slices of bread and dipped them in the egg mixture and placed them on the grille. After a couple minutes she flipped them.

"You never told me how you learned to cook." Said Max
"My parents own a diner. I use to watch my dad work the grill from before I could talk."
"So your dad taught you to cook?"
"Yeah."
"So when do you go back to work?"
"Uh a week after the fourth of July."
"So have you gotten the new script yet?"
"No. But it should be coming in the next couple weeks."
"But you have no idea what to expect?"
"Oh I am expecting that I get to go crazy bitch on Zan! Well I guess it would be Julia on Rob."
"Isn't Nicole just as responsible for the cheating?"
"Maybe."

Max realized Liz knew something that she wasn't going to say. Liz finished making them breakfast and they sat down together.

Ava walked out of her apartment building and was grabbed from behind. She tried to fight but whoever it was that had her was a lot stronger then she was. She gave up and was dragged into a van.

"Where the hell you taking me!"
"Shut up the man wants to talk to you." Said one of the men.
"Who's this man?" Asked Ava
"You will find out very soon."

Ava slumped in the seat her pregnant belly sticking out far.

Wow what a way to see Max in the morning. I rather see him in bed though. Glad Max and Liz are having breakfast together and talking. Seems Liz knows how to surprise Max by cooking. Oh no poor Ava. Someone needs to help Ava, Let me guess Zan is the man that Ava is going to see.
