I glanced around and saw my son and daughter come back into the kitchen and sighed in relief. I knew this wouldn't be easy. In fact, I felt guilt building at the thought that my children came into their powers without having guidance or answers. I should have atleast told them that if anything unusual happened they could come to me and I'd explain, then maybe we wouldn't be having such a rough time.

I saw Sabrina lean over and whisper into Erik's ears and I can't help but wonder how they were handling this in truth. I mean, they were just told that they are part alien. Glancing over at my husband, I was struck again with even more guilt. If Alex had never met me he could have a family without worrying over children with powers. He could have had a normal life. I love him so much, but his life would be less complicated without me in it.

I shook my head trying to toss those thoughts away. I couldn't let this cause doubt to grow inside me again, I couldn't lose Alex. If I did, it would break me more then I ever thought was possible.

Following my brother back to the kitchen, I watch him sit down and then move to sit next to him. I was looking at mom when I felt waves of guilt rolling off of her and sadness. I didn't like the fact that they had hidden the truth from us, but I couldn't find it in me to be angry. They loved us and thought they were protecting us. It's not their fault that we didn't turn out the way they thought. Leaning over, I whisper into Erik's ear. "Mom's filled with guilt and sadness, Erik. Please don't turn against them, they love us. They just made an error in judgement is all." I kept my voice low and serious before grinning and adding, "And it was certainly funny to see their faces when that sudden fire shot up."

Maybe it wasn't the best time to be joking, but I needed to cut some of the tension so after commenting I chuckled slightly and looked at my brother hoping it would get at least a smile or even a crack of one.

Then, a thought hit me. If mom is an alien and we have powers because of that... "Dad, what powers does mom have?" I asked the question that ran through my mind. Maybe mom would be able to help me control my powers.

I wondered what was going on. But, it wasn't my place to take part in it so I stayed where I was and simply worked on my food while thinking about what I wanted to do for the night. It's decided. I am leaving this place and going to have fun. Standing up, I take my wallet out and leave a twenty underneath glass of soda. Sure, Laura would have a larger tip from the change, but I didn't care. I walked past the table where my parents sat and out to my cycle. Hopping on, I started the engine and headed home to change. I knew there were a few parties in the next town over and I was determined to take advantage.

Getting to my house a few minutes later, I climbed off the cycle and went inside heading straight for my room. Chosing out my clothes for the partying. I walked to my sister's door and peeked inside in case she was there. When I saw that she wasn't, I walked in and picked up a piece of paper and wrote her a note telling her I was off to a party and to cover for me.

Leaving Marie's room, I went and changed into the jeans and tank before once again leaving the house before my parents decided to make it home.

I look at my kids as they come silently into the kitchen and take a seat. I look over at Isabel and see the sadness in her face. I know she feels guilty for not telling the kids but she has to realize that it was my decision too. I mean we thought they would be human, genectically speaking they have more human in them than alien.

I come out of my thoughts when Sabrin asks me a question. "Dad, what powers does mom have?" I look up at Isabel who is still on the phone trying to get a hold of Max.

"Your mother can change molecular structures and she can dream walk which is where you can go into peoples heads while there sleeping. She can also light candles and start small flames which is probally why Erik can do what he can do. Tess and Micheal are also 'special' as of course your Uncle Max is too. All of them can change molecular structures but they also have a unique power that the others can't do. Max can heal and make a shield. Tess can make people see things that aren't there which is called mind warping and Micheal is very good at blowing things up. Unfortunatly."

I nodded as I listened to my dad answer my question. I don't know quite what to think now. I thought for so long that I was a freak and now, to find out that others were like me was amazing andyet weird, but it also was upsetting because it didn't sound like mom would be able to help me since she couldn't feel other people's emotions. My shoulder's slumped without me realizing it and I simply sighed.

I hope mom can get a hold of Uncle Max soon so we can get all of this over and done with. Soon. I want to know what to expect and I want to know it as soon as possible. I also want to learn control over my empathy as Erik called it. I don't want to always know how others around me are feeling and end up bombarded with several different emotions at once.

"How did you find out about them?" I asked Dad, deciding to try and keep him talking and learn as much as I could at the same time. Since Erik was quiet, at least for the moment, I felt the need to be as talkative as possible.

The door opens, and Lily looks freaked out.

I smell trouble.."whoa sorry, were you in the middle of a family thing or soemthing cuz I can come back, I was just checkin to see if you were alright, but whatever" he shrugged and turned to leave but then turned back around..

"Look whatever weird things you think happen to you happen to me I'm just not so sure what those weird things are..." I look at her with a help me look,...."So I was just curious what that was about downstairs,"

"Well,"I look around to make sur nobody is listening I here James's motorcycle go by. Dang it I must have just missed him maybe I'll catch him at the party tonight.

I look at Oliver he is going to think I'm nuts but his Mom is one of them after all. "Here's a short version my dad, your mom, my aunt, and Micheal Guerin are aliens. There was a '47 crash and theye were in incubation pods until thay hatched. So that means there are aliens and me and you are what happens when they marry humans."

Oliver is now looking at me like I am nuts. He is cute though I see why Amy likes him so much. Dad is going to kill me when he finds out I told so is Amy. "Please don't tell your mom I told you because then she'll tell my Dad and I am already on thin ice as it is."

He is still staring at me in disbeleif. "Listen I know it's crazy but its true. Have you ever been able to do something that could not be explained by the laws of science?"

"How did you find out about them? Sabrina asks me. "Well Liz told me see she was shot at the Crashdown when she was 16 and Max healed her. I didn't beleive her story until your mother proved her right."

I heard the bell rings signaling someone leaving and see the last bit of James Valenti leaving, guess he got tired of sitting there, not that I can blaim him.


After finishing up with another customer I walk over to James' table and raise an eyebrow at the 20 dollar bill there. That definantly more then covers his bill, a very nice tip indeed.


Once I get all that arranged I sigh to myself and walk to the back for a quick breather. It's been a long day. Sometimes I wish I had a boyfriend, one of those boyfriends who rubs your feet and you can sit and talk to fr hours. But I dunno. Not many guys like girls like me, to silent, bookworms, whatever I may be refered to as, most likely "Oliver's sister".


I doubt any of the guys at school even ever look at me. I'm just another one of those faces in the crowd I guess.


Shaking my head I lean back on the lockers for a sec. I wish I could just snap my fingers and make everyone go away so I can just go home and soak in a nice hot bubble bath, get there before Oliver, he takes the longest time in the bathtub sometimes.


"1 day down, a million more to go", I mutter to myself before adjusting myself again and going back out into the store.

"Yes" I look at her, "look whatever craziness you just told me is true, I have these dreams of some wierd rock thing in the desert and some symbols, I've even gone out to the desert a few times to see if they were really there but no luck. I promise I won't say anything, we will talk about this at the party tonight, will you bring your sister? I'm dragging Laura even if she doesn't want to come, I think we all need to sit down and talk as a group because chances are, we aren't the only ones with weird powers or whatever.." I look at her then wink, she is kinda cute...


OOC: not sure where Max is so i'm not gonna be able to post Liz until he responds to her LOL....

I leave the room to go and check on the girls like Liz asked me to, and I here some talking in the hallway. It sounds like Lilly, but I don’t know who she’s talking to.

When I enter the hallway and see Lilly and Tess’s son Oliver standing in front of her doorway.

Hmm I guess that means that all of the children are starting to be affected by this alieness. We’re just going to have to deal with it as best as we can.

As I’m looking through Mom’s journal I start to get a sense of deep respect for my parent’s relationship. I knew that they had been together since they we’re our age, but I had no idea that their story was so…romantic.

I don’t think that it ever even occurred to me to ask how my parents met. They were always just my parents. But my dad had loved my mom all of his life, so much that he had risked everything for her, and that had made her fall in love with him.

I hear my dad’s voice outside the door, and I decide to step outside and see what’s going on.

When I leave the room I see My dad and Lilly and Oliver standing outside the door. Oliver? What is he doing up here?

“What are you doing up here Oliver?” I ask before I can stop myself. Then it occurs to me how strange all this must seem to him. Lilly starts tripping out, and we all run upstairs without even telling him what’s wrong.

You didn’t tell him did you?

He’ll probably think we’re some kind of weirdos or something.

“Lilly, will you get your sister and the two of you come to our room. There is a lot that we need to talk about. Oliver, maybe you should go home." my dad says making me jump. Ididn't even hear him come out of the room. Thankfully Amy comes out of our room and when my dad turns to look at her i whisper to Oliver. "I'll see you tonight at the party. And I'll make Amy come and we can talk."

“What are you doing up here Oliver?” Amy says with a surprised look on her face.

I had to tell him. He's been having the dreams also and according to Mom's diary Tess is an alien too. Speaking of the diary where is it. I say mentally to my sister

I put it under the bed.

"Well Oliver I'll see you later." I say loudly enough so me Dad can hear. After Oliver leaves me and Amy follow Dad into the living room. More talking. Great. I hope I can get the diary back in the safe before me and Amy leave tonight.

Oh yeah were sneaking out to go to a party tonight. It's out at the old rock quary.

I'm not going and neither are you. Besides you've already in enougth trouble.. Amy says

You have to go. Oliver will be there. I tell her mentally and try to hide the smirk on my face.

Erik listened to Sabrina talk to his father. Erik felt confused, he needed to be in the real world for a while. "I'm going for a walk," Erik says to no one immperticular.

Erik walks into the Crash Down for the second time today. Not many people were there but the news waitress looked stressed. Erik pick his favorite booth and sat down. God I really need to have fun, Erik thinks to himself as the new waitress comes to take his order.
