L-J-L 76 Zan and Rath have been arrested. But that doesn't mean that they will stay in jail. Liz does need to explore her feelings for Max with out her friends hanging around.

Carolyn Zan is off to jail for now anyway.






Part 23

Liz walked down to the beach and pulled off her sandles. She had never expected that Zan could do something so horrible to a young girl. Jessica was such a sweet girl too. She could only pray that she would recover. Liz walked about a mile down the beach from her apartment where there was a small cove. The water here was much calmer then the rest of the ocean. She walked down leaving her sandles on the sand to where the water met the sand. She sat down just out of reach of the water and watched the sun start to set over the water. She was lost in thought and didn't notice him until he sat down next to her.

"How did you know where to find me?"
"Went by your place. Maria told me about this cove you like to come to when you want to be alone to think."
"It was Zan that raped Jessica."
"He has been busy then. He beat Ava up."
"How is she?"
"Lots of cuts and bruises. Broken wrist. Cracked ribs. They are keeping her in the hospital for a while."
"Jessica woke up. She told the police what she remembered."
"That is good."
"Yeah. I have never liked him. But I never thought he could be so evil."
"I know. Liz, we need to talk about what happened this morning."
"What do you mean?"
"Liz, you kissed me."
"You seemed to like it."
"I did. The thing is I need to know how you feel."
"I like you a lot. Not just as a friend."
"How long?"
"I don't know. A while."
"Did you realize this before or after I was your date to see a movie premiere, for a movie you go around killing people in?"
"No one actually died you know! But it was before."
"That is good cause I started to have non friend type feelings since I saw you dump that coffee on Zan."
"So what are we going to do about this?"
"Well I would like to be your boyfriend."
"The thing is I am scared that if we don't work out that I will lose you as a trusted friend."
"Liz, I promise no matter what happens I will always be your friend. But I need to know you will trust me from now on. That you won't hide things from your past."
"I planned to tell you about what happened with Sean. I just didn't know how."
"Liz, I promise you I will not tell anyone."
"I know."

Liz looked up the beach and noticed a reporter with a camera.

"Max, we are being watched."
"Maybe we should give them something to watch?"
"Just what I was thinking."

Max helped Liz to her feet. Then pulled her close to him. He leaned down and very gently took her lips in his. Liz wrapped her arms around his neck as he pulled her even tighter and closer to him. The kiss deepened and became even more passion filled. As Liz's body moved closer to Max's she could feel his manhood pressing into her through his jeans. Max felt Liz start to stiffen in his arms. He broke the kiss and lean in close to her ear.

"Liz, relax. I am not going to do anything you don't want me to do. I know you feel my body reacting. But all you have to do is tell me to stop and I will."

"Now let me walk you home."
"Gladly."

Liz kissed Max they picked up Liz's sandles and headed for home with their hands intertwined.

Zan paced in the small smelly jail cell he was locked in. He had called his Uncle and was told to get out of this mess himself. He couldn't believe it! He was being treated like a common criminal! He was a star! He should be treated like the star he is! He couldn't believe this crap! Everyone knew if they went to a bedroom with him at a party they were agreeing to sex. It didn't matter if they said no. Girls who said that never meant it. Maybe he and Rath shouldn't have fucked that girl a couple days ago. But it didn't matter. As for that bitch who claims he knocked her up she had to be lying. So what if he beat her up? Women needed to learn their place. That men are in charge.

"This is such bull shit! That slut is a lying whore!" Yelled Rath
"I know man. My Uncle won't help me. He said I got to grow up and get myself out of this mess." Said Zan
"That sucks dude. My old man is sending his lawyer to help me out."
"Yeah well my mom, don't give a shit about me."
"Sucks to be you. You want top or bottom bunk?"
"Top."

Zan climbed up to the top bunk and Rath laid down on the bottom. They both tried to sleep. But it was not easy on the hard beds.

Zan and Rath should rot in hell for what they think of women. Men have not right to force a woman into sex and to beat women up. That is so wrong on so many levels. Stars shouldn't get special treatments they are like the rest of us normal people. So glad Philip is not going to help Zan. Hoping Zan and Rath rot in prison for what they did to Jessica and Ava. So very happy Max and Liz admit their feelings to each other and agree to go slow. Love the kiss they gave the reporter. Can't wait to find out how things go for Max and Liz.

Liz walked out of her bedroom the next morning to see Michael and Maria's bags packed and waiting by the door. They were both sitting on the couch watching the news.

"Liz, I really am sorry. I know it wasn't my place to tell Max." Said Michael
"Michael, we are OK. I know you did that because you care about me. But I just wasn't ready for him to know about that."
"You really like him don't you?" Asked Maria
"No comment Maria."
"God don't tell me you are going to make me wait to find out you have a love life like everyone else!" Said Maria
"Let me put it this way. You will find out when I am ready for my parents to know I am seeing someone."
"Come on Lizzie!"
"Maria. Don't think that I don't know about you have been thinking of opening your mouth to my parents about what happened with Sean."
"Liz, they love you. They know something is bothering you. You get these moods since that night."
"Just drop it Maria. You will always be my friend. But I need at least one part of my life to myself. Ever since the show took off I have had cameras following me out in public."
"I know. That cove down the beach you go to. I have seen pictures of you there."
"But no one comes up to me when I am there. A deal was cut. They can take my picture there because it is part of the public beach. But I will not give any interviews unless they go through my agent and manager."

Michael got up and went up to them.

"The car is here. The driver sent me a text." Said Michael
"Well I guess we need to go." Said Maria
"Yeah. Call me to let me know you got home safely." Said Liz
"We will." Said Maria

Liz hugged both of her friends and they grabbed their bags heading out the door.

"All rise this court is now in session. The honorable Judge Walter Kingsford the fourth presiding."

Zan stood there smirking. There was no way these stupid charges were going to stick.

"Be seated." Said the judge
"Case 79874 the people of the state California vs. Zan Banister. Two counts of assault in the first degree. One count of criminal sexual assault in the first degree. Two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Four counts of providing alcohol to a minor. Six counts of contribering to the deliquentcy of a minor and one count of endangering the life of a minor." Said the assistant district attorney.
"My you have been a busy boy Mr. Banister. How do you pled?" Asked the judge
"Not guilty on all charges." Said Zan smugly
"Where are the people on bail Ms. Hardy
"The people ask for remand your honor. Mr. Banister has access to a great deal of money and is considered a flight risk." Said Ms. Hardy
"Your Honor my client has large ties to the community. He has family in the area as well as a roll on a very popular TV show." Said Daniel Peirce
"Mr. Peirce, I am well aware of who your clinet is. But I have to agree with Ms. Hardy to a degree. Bail is set at three million dollars in cash, in full. He must also turn over his passport and wear an electronic monitor. He will also under go drug testing once a week."

Zan glared at his lawyer.

"You better find a fucking way to keep me out of prison. I am not going to lose everything cause some bitches didn't like the way I fucked them." Said Zan
"They have a lot of evidence against you."
"Make it go away."
"Zan, it is not that easy."
"I don't care what you have to do. Just do it."

Zan made calls and within an hour he was out on bail.

Oh hell no Zan is going to be free. Zan needs to be in prison on all the counts he has. Can't believe he told his lawyer to make everything go away. Zan is a major f***in asshole who needs to rot in jail for what he did. So glad that Michael, Liz and Maria talked and are friends again.

Part 25

Liz picked up her cell when it rang.

"Hello?"
"Liz, it's Jason Henderson."
"What's up Jason?"
"I thought I would tell you because it is going to be all over the news soon. Zan has been fired from the show. He was arrested last night on a number of charges."
"Oh my god."
"Yeah, I wanted to warn you that if you go out after it breaks you might be questioned by reporters."
"Thanks for the heads up. What is going to happen with where we left the show?"
"Rob is going to be killed in an off camera car accident."
"OK."
"Liz, is there anything I need to know about with you?"
"No. But are you still looking for someone to cast as Julia and Chris's half sister who shows up this season?"
"Yeah you got someone in mind?"
"Yeah Stephanie Larson. She has the same agent as me."
"Liz, doesn't she have a drug problem she has been in rehab for?"
"Pain killers from the car accident she was in a year and half ago. I talked to her mom not long ago. She is much better."
"I will give her a chance. But Liz, remember I don't want anything like with Zan to happen again. If she gets the part and I find out she is using again she will be gone."
"I understand. Thanks."
"See you in a couple weeks."
"Right."

Liz hung up and put her phone down. Zan was arrested. He was going to have to face what he did to Jessica and Ava. Liz grabbed her phone and keys put on her shoes and headed upstairs to the Marks apartment. She knocked on the door. She smiled when Mrs. Marks opened the door.

"Liz."
"Hi Mrs. Marks. I just heard that Zan was arrested."
"Yes but he is out on bail."
"I'm sorry. How is Jessica coping?"
"Not well. She rarely leaves her room."
"May I try and talk to her?"
"If you think you can help."

Liz walked down the hall and knocked on Jessica's closed door before walking into the room. Jessica sat in a chair near the window staring out.

"Jessica? It's Liz from downstairs. I know you are hurting right now. But it will get better." Said Liz softly
"No it won't. He and his friend are going to get away with what they did to me." Said Jessica
"No they won't."
"You have no idea what I am feeling."
"Yes I do. When I was your age I went to a party with some friends. There was this boy there a year older than me. I had known him most of my life. I trusted him. But he gave me something in my drink. He took me to a bedroom. He would have raped me if my friends hadn't come looking for me. After that I felt dirty, that if anyone knew that they wouldn't want me. Or worst think that I would just sleep with them without really knowing them."
"Do boys feel that way?"
"There is only one that knows what happened that night. Other than the one who is one of my best friends. Neither look at me any different. There is someone out there that you will trust enough to tell what happened, and he will love you. He will not see you as dirty or damaged. He will see you as the beautiful woman you are that had the one gift she could give to that special someone stolen from her."
"How did you get past what happened?"
"Well when I moved out here full time I found someone I could talk to. Someone who had the training to help me past those feelings. You are the only one that knows that I went to therapy. It is not something I like to talk about. If you want I will give your mom my therapist number. She is very easy to talk to and really understands what you are feeling."
"How can she understand?"
"She was raped by her father's best friend when she was fourteen. I can tell you that because she tells everyone she treats during the first session."
"Liz?"
"Yes?"
"Why didn't Zan stop when I said no?"
"I don't know. Zan just isn't a good person. He smokes, drinks and really into random meaningless sex."
"He uses drugs too. His friend forced heroin on me. It made me feel like crap."
"I heard. Jessica what happened to you wasn't your fault."
"Liz, I went to that room with Zan willingly. I agreed to give him oral sex. I have done that before with my last boyfriend."
"But you did not agree to have intercorse with him or his friend."
"His friend didn't just rape me that way. He....."

Liz realized what she was saying and felt sick. She would never understand how those two could be so curl to such a sweet girl.

"I'm so sorry."
"You aren't to blame. Liz, if I do find the right guy and feel safe enough to be with him that way, will it always hurt like what they did to me?"
"Jessica, I have never had sex. But I don't think it will. If it is with the right person I believe you will find it enjoyable and may even find pleasure in it."
"You really are a virgin?"
"Yes. I have dated but never have been in love with any of them."
"What about that guy I saw you walking on the beach last night? He helped take me to the hospital too."
"That is Max. He lives across from me."
"You like him."
"Yeah I do."
"You trust him?"
"Yes. I know deep down that he won't hurt me."
"That is good. Liz, if you don't mind I want to get some rest."
"OK honey. If you need anything don't be afraid to come to me."
"I will."

Liz left and Jessica went back to staring out the window.

So glad Jason called Liz and let her know Zan got fired and is off the show. That was very nice of Liz to let Jason know about Stephanie Larson. Maybe Stephanie will be on the show now. Agree with Keepsmiling7 about Liz taking steps and healing from what Sean did to her. And also talking to Jessica about what happened to her and about seeing a therapist. Hopefully Jessica will get help.

Zan paced in his house with a bottle of vodka in his hand. He was pissed. He couldn't leave his house! He needed a bitch more than anything. But he was not going to call up a whore. Liz went into her apartment and called Serena.

"I'll explain why she and Michael went home this morning when you get here."

Half an hour later Liz heard a knock on her door. She opened it to find Serena standing there her long red hair pulled back in a French braid, dressed in a pair of cut off jeans that showed her long legs off and a red bikini top. Liz looked at Serena's feet and saw a pair of sandles on her feet. Serena also had on a pair of dark sunglasses.

"At the beach club when I called?"
"Yep. Though you might want to change your mind about going out tonight. Word is out about Zan. Reporters are camped out across the street from the building."
"I am not going to cancel on Max."
"When did that happen?"
"About five minutes before I called you."

Serena walked in tossing her sunglasses on a table.

"No what I mean is when did you and Max get past the just friends thing? So where is Maria and Mr. Grumpy ass Michael?"
"They went home this morning."
"Didn't they just get here?"
"Yes."
"What happened?"
"Michael took it upon himself to tell Max about something that happened to me back in high school. Something I wasn't ready to tell Max about."
"Liz, what happened to you?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"OK. So where is that hunk taking you?"
"I have no idea. All I know is it's dressy but casual."
"Ok. Let's see what we got to work with."

An hour later Liz was dressed in a light blue dress that was fitted at her waist, with a skirt that fell just above her knees. It had spaghetti straps on her shoulders. Her hair was pulled back in a French twist, she had on a pair of gold hoop earrings and a couple baggle bracelets. On her feet were a pair of white low heal sandals. Liz had put on some light make up, just a little strawberry lip gloss and some blusher.

"Well girl Max isn't going to know what hit him."
"Thanks Rena."
"Hey what are friends for? Should I know anything about your relationship with Max that might be in the trash pages?"
"Uh, last night I know a reporter saw us kissing."
"Where? What kind of kiss?"
"Like how you kiss Kyle. The cove down the beach."
"You move fast."

Liz blushed and looked at her friend. Just then there was a knock on the door. Serena smiled and looked at Liz.

"Well that must be lover boy."
"Shut up Rena."

Serena just laughed and went to open the door.
