Because in River Dog episode he admitted he thought something happened between them in 285 South episode (never not funny how surprised Maria sounded and because what was to come "in terms of" their relationship was even more than what he already thought was "something" - every rewatch I speak at the screen and say, "Oh, Michael you ain't seen nothing yet! Waaaaait for it!")
