Summary: Liz is more than anyone thinks. She is...well I can’t tell you that, just read and you’ll find out.
She stood waiting for the one to pick her up from the airport. Her hands were shaking, along with her wobbly knees. Nervously she would push her hair back from her shoulders with her hand. She looked towards the big billboard to the west of her to check the time, and she touched the small head of her daughter, and lightly brushed her bangs from her forehead.
A half an hour later she still stood waiting at the now deserted corner, sitting against the wall of the airport with her legs casually folded in front of her, with the small one on her lap, resting its tired head of dark locks on her shoulder of chestnut curls. The woman sighed and kissed the Childs forehead before it nuzzled into her neck.
Now...it had been over three hours at the airport, and she finally got on the payphone at her right and called for a cab. The driver was really friendly. He talked a lot about the precautions that the two should take in such a big and dangerous city. He reminded them on how terribly unfriendly the life at night was. By time they had reached their destination, the young one had dozed of in the woman's lap. So the cab driver helped carry their bags up to the hotel where the bellboy took care of them. The cab driver wished the two luck, and was off.
In the hotel room, the little girl with dark chocolate locks slept on the large queen sized bed, all by herself, huddled under the blankets, and curled up into a cute little ball. The small woman stood at the window staring up at the deep dark sky filled with crystal lights of gas. Tears began to spill down her cheeks, and she sobbed hopelessly, as she stepped out onto the balcony. The dazed look in her eyes was frightening, along with the look of fear, and excitement, that seemed to be consuming her entire being, She stepped out onto the stone wall and stood tall and high, and without taking her eyes away from the starry fixture she dropped her robe from her body, revealing the V shaped tattoo that started from her shoulders down to the low of her back, and the melted in Gold crest in her chest. She jumped from the building in a swift jump, and fell to the ground below.
And as the cars breaks squealed and the people screamed in shock and terror. The young child sat awake in her bed, with tears falling down her cheeks. She screamed, and world went silent...
FB please, I would sincerely appreciate it, terribly so.....hehe

PArt 2
Thirteen years later, the world had been graced with the presence of Elizabeth Turner, the most bizarre girl that would ever walk the street of New York city. Everyone knew her as the girl with many jobs. Others knew her as the girl with a lot of serious problems. You see Liz had been to rehab three times for alcohol. She was a teenager with a serious problem. A Problem that almost killed her. But it didn’t help either that her foster parents didn’t give a flying fuck what she did, or where she did. They even tried, to get her to sell herself at the corner for ten dollars an hour, being the evil sick freaks they were.
Unfortunately every time the social worker showed up they would clean up the place and buy beautiful new outfits to look like to Brady Bunch family upgrade.
The sad part about it all is Liz didn’t fit in at school even. She did when she first started going there, she had a bunch of friends, and she was almost class A popularity, but that all plummeted fast. Just as fast as she had fallen deeply in love with another freshman that was attending the school as well. First people started calling her a whore for dating the hottest guy in the school. But she wasn’t going to let some jealous bitches get in the way of the love she and Kevin shared, there was no way. But one night, they went to far. There had been plenty of times where they fooled around, and they were close to going all the way, but they never did. They thought it was okay to express their love to each other.
But they never really did think of the long term effects. Especially for not “playing around” safely. They fooled around enough to graze intercourse. never initially doing so. But one night the pleasures of their not so innocent fooling around didn’t give them the enjoyment they were going to settle for, and it went way to far...
They were in his living room on the couch just fooling around innocently for once. His parents were out of town, and she told her parents that she was at Hailey’s house, who happened to be covering for Liz. So Liz thought she was home free, and this was the perfect chance to wake up to her future husbands loving face. They had met at a dance, about two weeks after school started and had been dating since. They fell head over heels for each other. And no he wasn’t faking it, he was really in love with her too. They KNEW from the bottom of their hearts they were destined forever.
As they unlocked their lips he stared down at her as he rolled on top of her. He smiled and bit his bottom lip as he un buttoned her pants as he had done plenty of other times, and pleasured her, watching as she moaned and inhaled deeply. Closing his eyes he felt her unzipping his pants, and pulling them down. No longer were their minds keeping them in zone, keeping them away from crossing the boundaries.
Only half an hour later he was above her, underneath nothing but the dark shadows of the pitch black room, giving each other the only innocence they had left in them. She laid beneath him as if she were stone, torn in two, broken in half. She was getting no pleasure out of this, everything was hurting. Her head was screaming at him to stop, stop hurting her. But her heart wanted to please her lover, who was loving every moment.
During the early hours of the morning she still lay awake staring at the floor. She turned to see her.... what was he now? Her lover? Her boyfriend? More than that? She didn’t know what he was anymore? The animal she saw in the sex drive of him actually terrified her. But the fact that the act of their ...love? was spontaneous. And they weren’t careful. She pulled herself from the floor and clothed herself. She reached the door and only looked back for one minute at her glowing...love? Then she turned the knob stepped out of the apartment, and closed the door behind her not taking a moment to look back.

Part 3
Liz stood from her bed and set her elbows on her knees, rubbing her tired eyes furiously, and looked at the clock ticking by every second. It read nine thirty in the morning, and the world outside was as bright as it would be at noon, in New York city, at the end of the school year.
Looking down at her wrinkled blue jeans she grunted and quickly started to unbutton them to get them off of her. She had came home and thrown herself lifelessly into her bed, and stared at the ceiling until she started crying. Not knowing why she was crying, or what emotion had caused her to cry. But she did. She cried hard and long as she curled up into her pink flowered bed. When she walked into the house, her foster parents, Bethany and Greg, were sitting on the couch. They gave her a brief look and growled as she swept quickly passed them. She didn’t even know why she tried to get a cover up plan . She must have been trying to get herself to believe they actually cared where she was last night. Or what she was doing.
Liz stood from her bed with wobbly knees and looked in the full length mirror she bought at a garage sale for twenty bucks. Her hair was bewildered and her eyes were droopy with her lack of sleep while her eyes rimmed with red looked as if she had cried blood last night. She wouldn’t have been surprised. She pulled off her shirt and stared at the bruise on her shoulder, where Kevin had dug her hands when.... She didn’t want to even think about the agony of last night right now.
She went to the bathroom, and tripped over her carpet, that was falling apart, it was over ten years old, and had never been replaced. She couldn’t even clean the mess anyone. So she bought a lot of runners with her money from a couple summer jobs last year to at least cover most of the room.
She stared at herself in the mirror after flushing the toilet, not completely taking in her image, not even noticing her own reflection. She just stood there looking at the glass, hating its very essence, and the purpose that it served. It showed you the ugly traits on you. And it turned you complete against yourself. All she wanted to do was throw mirror into the street and watch it crumble into tiny fragments of glass.
After she took a shower, a long shower, she finally got the guts to go downstairs and make herself some breakfast. But to her amazement when she got to the bottom of the stairway she could smell sausages and eggs, she even followed the smell of toast. But, that was outrageous, she was the ONLY one who used the toaster, stove, or frying pan. She made the breakfast every morning. Something odd was going on, Liz just hoped her foster parents weren’t going to ask her for money again.
“ Elizabeth?” Bethany called out from the small round kitchen table.
Liz turned to see her “ mother” sitting there with coffee and a dish of eggs, sausage and toast. Whish seemed completely fine. Not burnt or disfigured in any way. She couldn’t even recall a time her foster mother had made, or cooked anything.
“ Morning.” Liz said awkwardly as she sat a the table, not knowing whether or not to grab a plate of food or not. She didn’t know if she were allowed to touch it. She’d never had a meal in this house.
“ Well don’t sit there with an empty stomach! Go get yourself a plate! I didn’t poison it for lords sake.” She grumbled as she took a bite of her eggs.
Liz smiled, seeing Bethany shining through her small tasteless act of generosity. She stood up and made her way over to the breakfast on the stove and took a small portion of each, she wasn’t to hungry but she could never throw away the chance to eat food that her fostor mother willingly made for the house. But there was one thing missing.
What was missing was that big, smelly shit of a father Greg. Who usually would come into the kitchen for a bowl of cereal and moan, bitch and complain about everything. Scratch every private area of his body until no longer did you even want to eat the meal you’d made for yourself.
“ Where’s Greg?” Liz asked as she took a seat.
“ How the hell should I know? I’m not his damn keeper.” she hissed at Liz the second after Liz asked the question. “ Oh by the way, Kevin called. About four times sounding really worried about you. HE would really APPRECIATE your call. His words exactly.”
“ Oh.” Liz said with depth her in her voice that sunk as low as the titanic.
“ What? I thought you would be jumping about when hearing he called you.” Bethany said as she curiously looked at Liz.
She looked sourly at her food as she told Bethany, “ Not today.” She stood up leaving her plate completely full and grabbed her jacket and book bag, heading out the door with her foster mothers bellows following right behind her. But Liz didn’t hear her. She wouldn’t let herself anymore.
While at school she did a spectacular job at keeping far from Kevin, staying out of his sight, and dodging any moment of meeting. When he and she were walking down the hallway in opposite direction she noticed him before he noticed her and she darted behind the janitors bin, while walking along side Hailey. She ripped her friend by the wrist down behind the bin with her as Kevin passed by. He seemed to be searching for her and his eyes darted in just about every direction of the hallway.
Until after school had she succeeded. Only because she normally would walk home with Kevin. But skipped out on stopping at her locker in case of bumping into him and got a head start run to her house. Unfortunately, only two blocks from the school Kevin caught up with her. He took her by surprise when he grabbed her arm, and she shrieked as she fell to the dirty wet ground.
HE chuckled slightly at the sight of her and then the grim look on his face resurfaced.
“ Liz, why did you leave last night?” he asked her in a wispy voice from sprinting to reach her.
“ Well I.. I didn’t feel very good last night when I woke up and I didn’t want to wake you so I just slipped out.” She explained terribly. She fumbled with her words, and her lip quivered just slightly with each hesitation.
“ You know you could have woken me up Liz. I know you didn’t feel sick. And I know you didn’t just not want to wake me. Just please tell me what I did wrong? Do you regret it Liz?” he asked as he brought a clammy hand to he cheek.
Out of her fury with herself and her grim emotions with him she turned her face enough for his hand to slip, and stepped away saying, “ Of course not! I mean I don’t know!”
He looked down at the ground with pain written all over him. His shoulders rolled down in defeat as his face hung from him in his grief. He looked up at her and whispered something she at first didn’t hear.
“ Liz, I.. I love you. I didn’t mean to make you do something you didn’t want.” he said sadly. His trembling hands shoved slowly into his pockets as he looked back toward the ground and leaned against the brick wall of the shop.
“ You didn’t MAKE me do anything Kevin. It takes two to tango. I did what I did last night because I wanted it. I just, I never thought of the consequences.” Liz confessed as she slid down the wall next to him.
“ Your worried about being pregnant right?”
“ No, You know I hadn’t actually thought much about THAT yet!” she shouted in frustration. She hadn’t realized how much pain she would be feeling after her brainless mistake. And so help her god this mistake was literally tearing her insides out and shoving them back in soaked in alcohol.
“ Liz it will be okay. Just don’t be angry with me.”
“ I’m not angry with you DAMNIT!!!” she screamed at him as she shoved him and ran with all her might.
She HATED everyone! No one understands! How could he let her do what she did if he already knew she didn’t want it. How could he do what he did knowing she wanted it to be special, a moment meant for her wedding night. He didn’t even seem afraid of a possible child. Was she the only one in this god forsaken relationship that was scared shitless, that felt so broken, that felt so... so.... so dead.
She HAD to get everything off of her mind, she HAD to make it all go away. She had to find a way to get away!
She rested as she entered her small room and sunk to the floor and cried so very hard and so very loud. While whispering “ Somebody save me.”
Feed Back PLEEASE!!!

Part 4
For a while everything at school was really awkward and uneasy. After Liz’s outburst Kevin laid off, and took a step away from her just incase she may freak out again she imagined. She wasn’t meaning to hurt Kevin in any way. It was the last thing she would every want to do. But to be with him at the time in her life, she didn’t think their relationship would live to see the next year. And she knew it was because she made that mistake. But somehow she had to deal with it, that wasn’t an option.
Walking through the main entrance of the school was just as hard at it had been the day after Kevin and Liz had their dispute. She stared at the floor and occasionally looked up when hearing her name. She prepared to wave at who said her name. But when she lifted her head to see the face of the voices beholder. She found almost every face in the hall looking at her in disgust.
Ginger Spaterns was staring at Liz with disbelief in her teary eyes as she shook her head, and turned her back, shoving her way through the crowd behind her throwing the school newspaper she had been holding in the trash bin. Ginger was one of Liz’s partners in class. They were really close and they talked about everything in class, from current social events and stars on T.v. They always confided in eachother.
Hailey was staring at Liz with an evil dreadful look upon her thin face. Her lips in a thin line with the anger steaming off of her. She walked up to Liz and threw a rectangular box at her, and said loud and clear.
“ Hope you don’t mind that I took it upon myself to get you a pregnancy test Ms. Priss!” She gave Liz a long look of utter loathing and turned on her heel turning her back on Liz and down the hall with her lackeys following close behind.
Liz looked around the mob of people that were hushing in low voices about her, looking at her and pointing. She brought books even closer to her chest feeling like she was suffocating. She looked down at the pregnancy test on the floor, and tears welled up in her eyes. Why was everyone staring at her! Stop staring! She looked for someone for anyone she could run to and Hide behind, and found no one, but him...
She looked upon Kevin who had come up from the mobs rear. They split as he made his way to the center looking for what was the big commotion. His eyes found Liz and registered with question, confusing, and then fear as his eyes fell on the pregnancy test on the marble floor. He looked at Liz who looked like a frightened three year old caught in the headlights of a truck. Dumbstruck by her fate. Her eyes were red, and tears were streaming down her face.
“ Oh...Oh Liz..” he breathed, taking a step towards her. Thats when a hand fell on his chest. It was his best friend Marc. He was looking at him with sympathetic eyes.
“ So I have a question..” He slowly took his hand from Kevin and looked at him with a playful grin on his face, “ How was it, you know popping your fourth cherry?”
Everyone gasped, and Kevin looked like he was going plow Marc over and murder him. He grabbed his best friend by the collar and drew his fist back, “ You son of a-”
“ What does he mean Kevin?” Liz asked softly tears still racking through her body. Kevin turned to her, “ Popping your fourth cherry?” She bit her cheek as she felt the rage filling her lungs.
“ Liz..” Kevin trailed off as he darted daggers into Marcs eyes.
“ WHAT THE FUCK DOES HE MEAN!!!!” Liz screamed as she dropped her guard of books from her chest. If anyone needed protection it was Kevin right now. “ I DEMAND TO KNOW WHAT HE MEANT! AND I DEMAND TO KNOW RIGHT NOW!!!” She shoved Kevin off of Marc. He let go out of the shock she had shoved him.
“ WHAT HE MEANS IS!!...You weren't the first virgin he’s ever had.” someone had said from the back who had finally made their way to the front. It was Ginger. Her eyes were still red from the tears. “ He’s told plenty of other girls, that he loved them, and actually..” she began to laugh, “ got them to believe he would forever love them. Until he got them in bed. And Liz that is what Marc meant.”
“ Is that true?” Liz growled as she turned towards Kevin. He looked dumbstruck. He didn’t know what to say, he didn’t seem to even know whether or not to breathe. “ Huh Hubbie?” she asked sweetly with anger growing fast behind her eyes. She shoved him again. “ Huh Baby?” again another shove.
Then she swung her small bony knuckles right into the bridge of Kevin's nose, and he fell to the floor holding it in pain, making hissing noises, as he cursed at Liz.
“ Huh, darling? Is it true that you have played me like a fucking game! Am I just some kind of thing to you! Another score maybe? But you know what? I don’t feel bad, I don’t regret any of this! Do you know why? Because now you’ve been played, you stupid son of a bitch. And you know what else? Fuck you... The baby is mine.”
She threw her books at an already heavily bleeding Kevin who was curled up into a little ball tighter than that of a potato bug. And she turned her back never to look back on the man she once loved ever again..Because he never existed in her mind...not ever again.
Of course when Liz had made the outburst about the baby it had been a lie. Their was no baby, no pregnancy. She had made sure three times after the first three, and there was no baby. She only said it to make him twitch. To make him sting. But it was all so irrelevant. She was going to have to find a way to get around it. To get around the terrifying moment in her life where she had been humiliated in front of the whole school, and stabbed in the back by her friends. Now all she had was Ginger. And... Marc.
Liz at the present time was now sitting at the window looking out into the dark nights sky filled with smoke from the factories chimneys in the slums. Yeah even the smoke from so far away made it over to the nice area she and her foster parents lived in. Of course it wasn’t as great as the fancy apartments, but it was Brooklyn and that was pretty nice. She didn’t think about those days anymore. The pain was to much for her, and she denied anything had ever happened between her and anybody. If anyone mentioned Kevin, she would look confused and ask, “ Who’s Kevin? Is he a friends of yours? I’m afraid I’ve never met him sweetheart.”
People say that Liz was in denial of it ever happening. And some said that the shock of the mob confronting her that day made her go mental. Never would suspect that Liz just wanted to forget something that made her wince in pain and fire up in rage. Never would they consider that she was just trying to move on.
She twirled her curly ringlets of silky chocolate hair around her slim, pale finger as she looked out at the streets of Brooklyn in the light of day, watching people run down the subway entrance stairs and exit at the same pace. People were riding their bicycles back and forth in front of her window, and couples were holding hand as they walked through the small park across the street. Liz felt a pang in her heart, wishing she could be walking through the park with someone she loved and cared for. But she quickly brushed the absurd idea out of her head.
The phone rang from across the room and Liz stared at it for a couple minutes and stood from her window seat and picked the cordless from its stand and said, “ Hello.”
She seated herself back into the window seat of the bedroom, and heard the other hello from the other side of the line, their voice seemed oddly familiar.
“ Umm might I ask who this is?” Liz asked as she became even more eager to who’s voice this was over the phone.
“ Is this Elizabeth Parker?” the voice quickly asked after Liz’s question. Liz kinda tilted her head and said,
“ I’m sorry sir but I think you have the wrong number, my name is Elizabeth TURNER, not Parker.” she laughed as she was about to hang the phone up.
“ OH! I know I’m sorry. Forgot that you were adopted by the Turner family. Forgive me please Miss. I have information for you. I’ve been trying to make contact with you for quite a while now.” the woman said sounding more perky than she had a moment earlier.
“ Umm, alright then Ma’m what is it that you would like to tell me?” Liz said a little taken aback by the womans voice.
“ Elizabeth it’s about your mother. She left alot for you, and we have just discovered a paper that explains what she left behind for certain people. Including you, Mr. Evans, and Ms. Harding.”
“ Umm, forgive me for asking but who is my mother anyways? I don’t even..er... know her name.” Liz gulped. Her family she never knew was a tough subject. She couldn’t remember anything of when she was younger. Not a single thing but a lonely cold hotel room with a belcony that overlooked the entire city. Nothing but that memory.
“ Her name was Lilly Parker. She was residing in Roswell, New Mexico before she passed away. On a large ranch, with another family.. The Evans. They had taken her in as a child.. She lived there until she was moving to New York with you and your father most likely. It’s unknown the exact reason why she went to New York.”
“ Okay..” Liz didn’t know what else she could say. Her mother’s name was Lily. That was a beautiful name...it sounded like a prefect name. Her mothers name. But Liz still awaited the information this woman was trying to tell her.
“ But so it seems that you have relatives..”
“ umm, excuse me?” Liz said as she sat straight up.
“ The Evans are your God Parents Miss. Lilly signed them as god parents when you were born..... Miss? Miss?”
Liz stared at the wall in front of her as she felt the reality hit her in the stomach, she looked outside and tears weld up in her eyes, and her heart swelled like a sponge in water. She actually had... family?
................................................................................................................................................
She never thought it would be hard to part with her foster parents, after all the terrible things they had done to her, all the names they called her and all the beatings they had cursed her with. But when it all came down to it, they were all she knew to be family. The only people she knew. Of course she was filled with unspeakable joy to meet actual family. The people who had raised her mother.
She reached her foster mother and she looked at her with knowing eyes and touched her shoulder, as her ‘mother’ let a single tear drip down her face, the mascara following not to far behind.
“ It’s going to be so empty in the house without you. No one to yell at, no one to bitch with.” she smiled slightly.
“ Oh hush up.” Liz said as she cried a little herself, “ You always have Greg.”
“ He left Liz. He left. And this time he isn’t coming back.” Bethany said as she touched Liz’s chin barely. And wiped a tear from her cheek.
Liz gulped and felt sympathetic towards her. Greg was all Bethany had. He was what kept her going, in their odd ways. But he was the center of her foster mother life.
“ I’ll be back. I promise. I wont leave you high and dry Beth. I wont. I promise!” She wrapped her arms around her and held Beth tight, and sobbed a little in her shoulder.
“ Miss,” the cab driver called from the back of the blue cab. “ We should get going soon..” He trailed off as Liz turned towards him, “ You’ll miss your flight.”
“ I’ll be back Beth. I swear to you!” She shouted as she ran down the stone steps toward the cab.
Beth pointed and blubbered a little outloud. Liz chuckled and stepped in. The driver shutting the door behind her and jogged around towards the front seat, buckling himself in and setting off.
Liz Parker... She liked that.
“ So miss. where is it that your flying to?” the cab driver asked making small conversation. Which was so unlike most cab drivers in New York who carried a gun in case of an occurrence. Rather unfriendly most of them were.
“ Roswell, New Mexico.” She said rather proudly, as she straightened her back in the seat. “ My new home.” she uttered in happiness and in misery.

Part 6 The Arrival
It was the first time Liz had ever set foot on a airplane. It was even smaller inside than it looked from the glass windows of the airport. The seat were a unhealthy blue, that looked like those not so comfy hospital seats with the swings sticking out. She once again looked at her ticket for the 30th time to make sure where her seat was. You would think after memorizing the number all the way there she would remember it. But she didn’t her mind was stretched to thin thinking about her godparents, her grandparents.
She hulled her suitcase over her shoulder so she wouldn’t accidentally pump anyone with it on the plane. She looked for her seat and unfortunately found someone in the seat next to hers. The woman was rather round everywhere, but especially the middle. She had a large violet hat with many feathers sticking out of the side of it, swept back. Her stubby thick fingers were covered in diamond and ruby gold rings. Her nails had a terrifying length, covered in a deep red nail polish.
As Liz came to the side of the woman she coughed right on Liz, just as she was about to greet the jolly woman. Liz’s face scrunched up as she felt the woman’s spit land on her hand that gripped her suitcase. The lady looked up at Liz and smiled.
“ I’m sorry dear. My mistake.” she politely apologized as she stuck her hand out for Liz to shake. Liz gave her hand to the woman and shook it quickly. “ My name is Dorothy Beckam.”
“ Liz Parker. And that's my seat there next to you.” Liz said pointing directly at the seat. The woman gave a full hearted laugh.
Liz smiled at the woman as she heaved the bag over her head and tried to stick it in the cabinet above. But it wouldn’t budge. The door of the cabinet wouldn’t slide open! People came up from behind her and coughed to get her attention. Quickly apologizing she got out of the way and again tried to open the door of the cabinet. Cursing at it she banged it with her fist. It still wouldn’t budge!
“ Umm, excuse me miss, but could I give you some assistance?” said a deep raspy voice from behind her.
She turned around quickly, feeling her elbow shove itself into to something soft yet very tough at the same time. Shocked she jumped back and covered her mouth as she was confronted by a handsome looking face of a blonde man standing once behind her, was now face to face with her.
“ Oh my god are you okay? I am so SORRY!” she apologized as she placed her hand on his shoulder. “ I..I...I didn’t mean t-to h-hit you. I’m n-not used to this kind of thing.”
He laughed allowed as he clutched his stomach. He chuckled as he said, “ It’s no problem, don’t worry about it. Here let me have your bag.”
She smiled slightly still feeling terrible for elbowing him. He grabbed her bag and pushed the door open with much force, placed her bag inside, and shut it. She smiled at him thankfully.
He smiled back at her shyly. “ My names Kyle. Sometimes you need the right amount of muscle to get those things to work for you rather than against you.”
Liz laughed slightly, a little nervous by her new acquaintance, “ Liz,” she said as she introduced herself.. “ .....Turner.. I mean Parker.. I think.” she said.
He looked at her oddly and waved as he went to the back of the plane to take his seat at the window.
During the rest of the flight, Liz sat silently in her seat, flinching as she heard every smack of Dorothy's lips beside her as she ate her small packages of peanuts. Liz watched as the scenery passed her by, it was beautiful in every way. The clouds were no longer big puff balls you saw on land, always making out shapes and figures that they formed, such as an alligators head, a rabbit, daffy duck, and even a hand with a cigarette in its hand. But now the plane was within the clouds. Liz felt like the sky was opening up to her and showing her its highly held secrets.
Long ago as a child she would imagine seeing fairies and pixies prancing around the clouds rims. God bowling down the bowling alley as it was thundering and lightening like mad down on earth. She would have expected to see men and women in white robes, dancing and fluttering in the air as they kicked their feet looking over the clouds siding down at the people strolling around beneath. Just as they were said to do in her children's books. Always looking out for the humans on earth. She would have hoped to see her guardian angel.
Just as Liz felt her eyelids heavily falling over her tired eyes, Dorthy shifted towards her and poked her hard in the should. Liz jumped and looked towards Dorothy smiling slightly. Not rally appreciating that she had pulled her out of her dream world.
“ Yes?” Liz asked as she rumpled up her hair tired like.
“ Umm there’s a man trying to get your attention from the back miss.” she said under her breath.
Curiosity took Liz by the hand and forced her head towards the back to see the boy she had just previously met flagging her down to sit by him. She got up and excused herself from her seat, accidentally stepping on Dorothy’s foot. She walked down the tight fit aisle and sat next to Kyle at the way back the plane. She stared at him waiting for what he had called her down here for.
“ What?” Kyle eyed her oddly. She looked at him as she raised her eyebrows. “ You looked bored silly up there. Thought it would be nice of me to save you.” He smiled broadly at her showing her his pearly white teeth.
She smiled back and leaned back, “ Oh,” she breathed. “ I was paying much attention to her.”
“ Doesn’t matter. She’s an odd woman. You see I go up to New York to visit my Grandfather once every year during the first week of summer. But I live in Roswell, New Mexico. That woman there, that your sitting next to up there, is on this flight every time I am.” he said. Liz turned to him giving him her full attention, “ Last time I was on this flight, she caused a great deal of commotion on board. Said someone had stolen her peanuts. She as gong crazy about peanuts. She ended up breaking down not so quietly in the bathroom, screaming and raging. The assistant couldn’t even get her out of there for the plane to land. She used to always be on the flight with an older man, but a couple years ago he stopped coming all together.”
“ Doesn’t really sound weird to me.” Liz said as she turned herself again so she was staring directly forward. “ She could have easily been having a bad day. Some people are really sensitive you know?”
“ Sure they are. But from where I come from people don’t just create such and absurd scene. Making fools of themselves.” Kyle told her as she turned to him once again. He quickly changed the subject by asking why she was going to New Mexico.
Liz shrugged a little and simply said, “ Relatives.”
“ Oh really?” Kyle asked intrigued. “ What's their names? I may know them.”
“ Their names? Er.. The Evans.”
“ Oh really?” he said wide eyed, “ They are really nice folks. My father and I have dinner with them occasionally during the holidays.”
“ Yeah.” Liz sighed as she relaxed a little more.
Looking towards the front she saw a angry looking man coming from the front of the plane, wiping his leg with a small towel, revealing a large stain over the front of his pants, looking as if he had the piss scared out of him. But the woman behind him holding her wine glass was apologizing over and over again. He continued to scowl and groan at her, until her took his seat in the 4th row from the back.
“ How come I’ve never seen you then? Never visited before?” Kyle questioned after watching the scene himself.
“ Umm, er not really.” Liz said as he started fiddling with her fingers feeling slightly uncomfortable with the conversation.
“ Oh, I see.” Kyle said before he silenced himself completely.
Liz wasn’t exactly ready to tell the entire world about her past. She didn’t know if she ever really would. All she wanted to do was go to the Evans, fall in love with their family, and make it her home to. She would visit her foster mother of course, but she didn’t want to remember everything thing else. This was a fresh start for her, almost like creating a completely new identity for herself. No longer was she Liz Turner. Not the one she used to know.
After the plane touched down everyone started exiting. Kyle walked with her down to the airport center where someone was supposedly going to pick her up. He seemed so relaxed now that they were on ground. While they were on the flight he continued to talk, and ramble about very non important things, just trying to keep himself together. The woman Liz was sat next to on the plane was walking only a few feet ahead, walking wit such confidence Liz wished for a moment she were her. Poise and beautiful.
“ Hey,” Kyle said getting her attention, “ I’m sorry for going on and on back there, I’m not to good with flights. Never really liked flying. I seriously terrified of this time of year.”
“ Don’t worry. You weren’t too annoying.” she smiled as she looked towards his shy handsome face. He chuckled a little. “ Plus I could’ve shut you up if I really needed to.”
“ Yeah. Heh. Oh there’s my Dad.” he said pointing down the tunnel at the man dressed in a blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, tight blue jeans and cowboy boots. His hat in his right hand as he nodded politely at woman walking passed. What a gentleman, Liz thought. “ I’ll see you around.” Kyle said quickly as he jogged towards his father and they walked towards the escalator.
Liz gulped as she felt nervous butterflies flying through her stomach, hitting the lining with a terrible soft thud. Where was she supposed to go from here? She hoisted her backpack on her back and looked around as she awkwardly stood by the seats by the tunnel. Not knowing where to go, or what to do. Looking around the crowd hoping to find somebody that could help her. The last thing she needed was to be stranded at an airport.
In the corner of the building right in front of the escalator, there was a child and a woman. The little girl had long chocolate hair. Long hair for a girl her age. Her mother had dark hair as well, except her hair was more of a chestnut color, falling in beautiful ringlets. Liz’s heart tightened in her chest, as she saw the two. The mother was standing at a pay phone calling someone as her child stood right next to her, as she pet her chocolate hair. Something was so familiar about the two though. So much so that Liz felt herself doubling over. Her body froze, and she didn’t know why.
“ Excuse me Miss?” a boy asked her as she sat down in a blue chair.
Liz looked up to see a boy with short spiky like black hair. He was lanky and tall. He had a button like nose, and adorable brown eyes. He reminded you of those guys in the movies, the nerdy ones that always want to popular girl, but always end up with their best friends instead.
“ Are you Liz Turner?” he asked politely. Liz nodded and took his hand as he stuck his out. He grinned and said, “ Hey I’m Alex. I’m a good friend of the Evans. I’m here to pick you up.”
Liz smiled at this friendly boy. He had the kind of smile that made you want to crack up for no reason at all. She felt herself chuckling for no reason as she saw him smiling. He just smiled wider as he helped her up. They walked to the old beat up blue truck all the way in the back of the parking lot after picking up her luggage.
While they were in the truck he asked her a load of questions about New York. He seemed so curious. He wanted to know what it was like at Times Square, if Liz went there for New Years. What it was like in Brooklyn and Manhattan. How bad it was. If the gangs there really did kill people.
“ I’ve watched N.Y.P.D Blue and boy there's a lot of serious crimes in New York. It’s crazy. Stuff like that NEVER happens in Roswell. I mean yeah theres a lot of drunk people.” He chuckled. “ Not to mention Aliens.”
“ Sorry.” Liz said as she shook her head, “ I don’t believe in that type of stuff. That 1944 crash in Roswell is a load of bull. Aliens don’t exist.”
“ I would think before you come to that conclusion Elizabeth.” He said as he sounded much more confident and wise with his theory. “ Can you possibly say throughout all the galaxy’s that this universe has that there can’t be another planet with living life forms on it.”
She looked at him oddly and said, “ well I guess not. I mean, but there not Green!”
“ Who said they were green?” he laughed. “ i could easily be an alien, waiting to suck your brains out right now, and you wouldn’t even know it.” He laughed and winked at her.
“ OOOOh I’m so scared.” Liz pretended as she brought her knees to her chest and pretended to guards herself. He laughed at her and then continued driving.
But the way he sounded so serious about the aliens before, really creeped Liz out a bit. Aliens didn’t exist. But she couldn’t deny how much fun Alex was. She’d hope that they’d see a lot of each other in Roswell, she needed a friend in the foreign lands of New Mexico.
