Disclaimer: Characters do not belong to me. I am merely borrowing.
Summary: Max Evans and Liz Parker are both twenty-something college students who have crushes on each other. Their feelings go without admission for quite sometime as they both run in different social circles, until the day they are forced together in an unexpected twist of fate.
Author's Note: This was a challenge given by anonymousarfan.

Part One

Liz Parker sighed dreamily as she rested her elbow on the cool table and placed her chin inside her upturned palm. She stared off into space, her mind conjuring up mental images that would make her blush if anyone else could see them. Images of a dark-haired adonis lighting her skin afire with his beautiful pink lips and his large, masculine hands. She could even imagine the way his tanned flesh would look in the flickering candle light. His scent would be intoxicating. She didn’t have much trouble imagining that.

Unconsciously, she shifted in her seat and ran her moist tongue across her lips. Just as her eyes began to drift close and a moan threatened to escape, a deep voice jarred her from her mental pictures. “Liz?”

“What?” She sounded surprised and guilty, as if her mother had caught her with her hand in the cookie jar as she bolted up right on her stool.

“Are you okay?” A warm pair of honey-colored eyes gazed into hers, assessing her. She wanted to melt into a puddle of Liz on the floor of the lab. “You seem a little . . . flushed.”

Nervously, she tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ear and looked at the table. Her cheeks were flooding with pink and she was officially embarrassed now. “Flushed? Really?”

She cleared her throat and avoided his gaze.

“Yeah.” Gingerly, he touched her arm.

Heat shot through her body at the mere touch of his skin on hers. She wanted to ravish him on the top of the table. She wanted to do it like they did in the movies. Sweep her arm across the table, knocking off books and beakers and whatever else and throw him down. Instead, she shrugged away from his touch.

“Yeah, Max, I’m fine.”

“You sure?” He asked. His voice seemed to resonate with concern for her well-being. Liz chose to ignore that before she started obsessing about what it meant.

“Yes, I’m fine.” She nodded her head as she motioned toward their open biology books. “Let’s get back to this experiment, okay?”

“Yeah,” he sounded unconvinced as he eyed her skeptically, but apparently decided to let it go, “let’s get back to work then.”

“God Maria, it was so embarrassing!” Liz shouted into the mouth piece of her cell phone. “He practically caught me, red handed! Fantasizing about him. Sexually!”

She ignored the curious glances as she continued walking across campus. Her biology class had been a total disaster and somehow that didn’t bode well for the rest of the day. The object of her affection, one Max Evans, had indeed caught her in the middle of a very heated fantasy in which he was the star of. She wanted to die. No, she wanted to drop that class and never see him again. Unfortunately, she needed that class and she needed him. He was the best lab partner she’d ever had.

She rolled her eyes.

That was an excuse and she knew it. He was a good lab partner, sure, but the truth was she could handle that biology class on her own. Blindfolded, even. It was a walk in the park. She needed him because she mercilessly lusted after him. She had ever since the first day of class, when they had been assigned to work together.

On the other end of the phone, Maria Deluca couldn’t help but laugh at Liz’s situation. “Calm down Liz,” she chuckled as she finally stopped laughing. “It’s not like he knew right? I mean, you weren’t sitting there staring at him with a crazed hungry look in your eyes? Were you?”

“No!”

“Okay, then.” Maria calmly stated. “There’s nothing to worry about.”

Liz sighed into the phone. “You’re right. He couldn’t have known.”

“What was the fantasy?” She could practically see Maria leaning in, ready for all the juicy details.

“Maria!” She pretended to be embarrassed. “There is no way I’m telling you.”

“Just give me the PG summary!” Maria whined.

Liz sighed, “Fine. It was passionate, hands and lips were everywhere, his not mine. There were candles.”

“You’re such a romantic, Liz.” Maria signed happily into the phone. “Making passionate love surrounded by thousands of white candles.”

“How did you know they were white?” Liz asked, surprised by her best friend’s musings.

Maria laughed knowingly. Truthfully, she knew Liz like the back of her hand. Sometimes even better than Liz knew herself. “I’m psychic.”

“Well, tell me then Madam Deluca, will I ever get the balls to ask him out?” She asked as she rounded a corner. Her shift at the campus café started in a few minutes. She didn’t want to be late again.

“Oh you never know, Liz.” Maria answered cryptically. “I see a scrotum sprouting in your very near future.”

“Maria!” Liz laughed. “Don’t lie. I could never ask Max out. He’s . . . Max!”

Maria sighed. “And you’re Liz. What of it?”

“Maria,” Liz rolled her eyes. “Don’t start.”

“I don’t know why you think he’s so high above you Liz.” Maria ignored her gentle plea and continued to sing Liz’s praises. “I mean, you’re smart. You’re beautiful. Hell, he would be LUCKY to have you and I don’t know why you can’t see that, Liz Parker.”

“Yeah,” Liz said briskly, “listen, we’ll talk about this later okay?”

“No, we won’t.” Maria said shortly. “Because you’ll avoid it or pretend like it didn’t happen.”

“I’m late for work.” That was a lie if she’d ever told one. She still had five minutes and she wasn’t even there yet. She was just anxious to get off the phone.

“Uh-huh.” Maria didn’t sound like she believed her, either. “I’ll see you later.”

“Yup.”

Just wanted to say thank you for the feedback everyone. anonymousarfan, I hope this is to your liking! :)

Part Two

Sitting inside the Cougar’s Den, Max Evans pretended to be studying. In between looking at his book blankly, he covertly stared at his beautiful lab partner. He didn’t know her that well, but he could sense that Liz Parker was absolutely amazing. She was smart and she was beautiful and he’d never met anyone who was as nice as she was. She made him feel like he was in highschool again, having a secret crush on a girl he was too shy to really speak to outside of their shared biology class.

His waitress’s voice startled him as her hand hovered over his cup. “Can I get you another refill, Max?”

He blinked. The contrast of her pale skin, her curly blonde hair, and her glaring blue eyes were completely different from that of Liz’s features, which he had been staring at for over an hour. “Sure Tess,” he said as he offered her the cup. “Cherry Coke.”

“I know, Max.” She tossed him a flirtatious smile as she took the cup from his hand, letting her fingers brush over his.

******

Taking the cup over to the waitress’ station, Tess Harding couldn’t have been any more pleased with herself. She cast a glance at Max over her shoulder, a slight smile coming to her lips as he slyly looked up in her direction. She turned around, feeling confident that he was watching her and refilled his cup.

“Tess,” She rolled her eyes at the voice beside her. “I really wish you wouldn’t steal my tables.”

“Liz, relax.” Tess told her snottily. “You’re so uptight.”

“Table 16 was mine, Tess. It’s in my section.” Liz said as she put a hand on her hips. Max Evans was her table damn it!

Tess rolled her eyes again, casting Liz a sideways glance. “What are you hard up for cash or something? You can have his tip.”

“It’s not that, Tess.” Liz insisted, “It was MY table. I’m sick of you stealing my tables.”

“Parker, he doesn’t come here for you.” Tess told her snottily. “He comes here for me. He likes me, what can I say? I’m asking him out tonight.”

Liz glanced in his direction. As their eyes locked, he quickly looked down at his book again. “I don’t care who he comes here for,” She stated as she turned her gaze on Tess once again. She was a tad bit disappointed, she tried not to let it show, “the fact is, if he sits in my section he’s my customer. Period.”

“Whatever, Parker.” Tess said as she sauntered away leaving Liz to stare after her.

“Here ya go, Max.” Tess said sweetly as she sat the glass down on the table in front of him. She reached into her apron and pulled out a straw, tossing it onto the table beside the cup.

“Thanks.” He smiled politely as he reached for the straw.

“So, I get off in a few minutes,” Tess told him, leaning in a little.

Max looked up at her, his honey-colored eyes looked past her, although she didn’t seem to notice. “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” She smiled as she played with the hem of her apron. “There’s gonna be a killer party at the Cappa house. You wanna go?”

“I can’t,” he told her, sounding vaguely regretful as he gestured to the book in front of him. “I have to study.”

“Oh,” her smile dimmed into one of disappointment as she looked at the book on the table.

He smiled warmly at her. “Maybe some other time, Tess.”

“Right.” She smiled, her confidence restored. He would go out with her some other time, when he didn’t have to study. “Some other time.”

I'm afraid this part isn't particularly good. I couldn't seem to figure out how I liked it best. Sorry...

Part Three

Liz threw open the door to the small apartment she shared with her best friend, Maria Deluca and closed it gently behind her. She was dead tired and slightly disappointed as she walked through the apartment. Max had left shortly after Tess, which proved Tess’s point. Max was there to see her, not to see his lab partner.

As she passed Maria’s room on the way to her own, she poked her head in and found Maria sprawled out on her bed, bathed in the glow of the black and white movie on tv and wrapped in a sleeping Alex Whitman’s arms. She quietly pulled the door closed, giving them privacy on their intimate moment. It was still sort of weird for her. Her two best friends, hooking up. Becoming a couple.

She shook her head as she walked into her bedroom and threw herself down on her bed. Her two best friends had found love in each other, Tess had Max eating out of the palm of her hand, and she was all alone. Wonderful.

From the night stand on the far side of the bed, the blinking red light of the answering machine caught her attention. She’d almost decided to ignore it, thinking it could only be her mother or Maria’s, when curiosity got the better of her. Rolling on her side, she propped herself up on her elbow and reached over to press the button.

“Hey Liz, it’s me...Kyle...Valenti.” She smiled at his unsureness. As though he thought she might need reminding. “Uh, I was just wondering if you would like too,” he paused, “help me with my Psych paper. I’m, uh, really having problems with it.” He finished lamely. “Anyway, I was thinking we could meet at the Den and you could help me over a cheese burger and a coke?” He paused for an awkward moment, as if he were waiting for her to respond. “Um, just let me know, okay?”

She wasn’t naive. Not by a long shot. That had been a veiled attempt at asking her out on a date. Although, why Kyle Valenti thought he had to make up an excuse was beyond her. They were friends. He didn’t need to put on false pretenses with her. Lie to her in order to get her somewhere. Of course, he probably did need help with his paper. English had never been Kyle’s strong suit. Still, Liz was sure that there was more to it than that.

She sighed as her eyes came to rest on the phone beside the answering machine. It was only a matter of time before Tess had Max ensnared in her web, and it wasn’t like Liz was ever going to get enough nerve to confess her crush to Max. The recent coupling of her two best friends made their threesome a foursome. There was Liz, Alex, and Maria as friends, and then there was Alex and Maria the couple. As if the two of them together equaled a whole separate person from Alex and Maria, the friends. Then, there was Kyle.

They had been friends for quite some time, having known each other in high school. Kyle was Alex’s roommate. There was little she didn’t know about him. Logically, it made sense, but as she picked up the phone and dialed the number she knew by heart, she found couldn’t stop thinking about Max.

******

“So, I heard you have a date with Valenti.” Maria drawled as she leaned against the wall of the kitchen, arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.

“Um,” Liz tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she poured honey into her tea, she was so not ready for the third degree at nine-thirty in the morning. “It’s not really a date. I’m helping him with his English paper.”

Maria pushed herself off the wall and sauntered to the fridge. “Right.” She searched the contents of the fridge before emerging with strawberries. “So, what about Max then?” She asked as she followed Liz into the living room.

Carefully sitting her tea down on the coffee table, Liz flopped down on the couch pulling her legs up after her and reaching for her Chemistry book. “What about him?” she asked nonchalantly, as if he were some acquaintance she barely knew.

“Liz,” Maria sat down in the over-stuffed chair and looked at her friend, “just yesterday you were sexually fantasizing about him. Now you’re going out with Kyle?”

“Max is just my lab partner, Maria. We’re casual friends.” She said as she opened her book to the book marked page. “And anyway, it’s just lunch. It’s not like we’re getting married.”

“No,” Maria countered, “but you’re definitely leading him on.”

Liz glared at her. “Actually, I told him up front on the phone last night that it wasn’t going to be a date. Kyle and I are just two friends, eating lunch together while we discuss his paper.”

“Oh.” She could tell that Maria felt stupid, but she made no attempt to say otherwise.

Liz Parker wasn’t the type of girl who would lead someone on, knowingly. She’d made it perfectly clear last night that there would be no funny business between them.

“Sorry.” Maria said quietly. “Kyle is like a brother to me, I just don’t want him to get jerked around.”

“Forget about it.” Liz told her warmly. She could never stay mad at Maria for very long.

They sat in silence before Maria’s curiosity got the better of her. “So, what is up with Max Evans?”

“I think he likes Tess.” Liz watched as Maria almost choked on a strawberry. Setting her chemistry book aside, she reached across arm rest of the couch and plucked one out of the bowl. “He came into the Den last night and sat in my section.”

“I bet Tess was seething.” Maria smiled, happy in the fact that Tess may have suffered annoyance. She hated Tess.

“Actually, she stole my table.” Liz said grimly. “And when I confronted her, she said that he comes there to see her.”

“If he came there to see her, he would sit in her section!” Maria yelled incredulously.

Liz shrugged. “Well, she asked him out again and they seemed pretty friendly. He left shortly after she did.”

“So, he went out with her?” Maria thought she was going to be sick from all this news. “That skank!”

“I don’t know.” Liz shrugged again, reaching over and grabbing at another strawberry.

Please excuse any typos or grammar errors that may be in this part. I can't use spell or grammar check when I have the word "cafe" in a part or WordPerfect will shut down on me.

Part Four

Kyle Valenti strode into The Cougar’s Den feeling like the luckiest guy in the world. He had a date with Liz Parker today and he absolutely could not wait. He had to remind himself as he found a booth for the two of them, that this was not a regular date. It was a study date. A session. He reminded himself that she’d specifically said it wasn’t a date.

He would be happy with what he could get, though.

“Hey Valenti.” Looking up from the table, he found a pair of piercing blue eyes staring at him.

“Oh, hey Tess.” He greeted her as he busied himself with spreading his books and things out. “Um, I’m gonna need another menu.”

She quirked a brow, “Another menu?”

“Yeah.” He smiled to himself. “A friend is joining me.”

“Right.” She said as she flipped open her order pad. “Well, in the mean time is there anything I can get you? A drink or something?”

“Coke.” The request came out, much lighter than he had intended it to, making him frown as Tess walked away shaking her head.

Again, he had to remind himself that this was not a date. He shouldn’t sound so happy. She was just helping him with his paper. That was all she had agreed to over the phone. Yet, a small part of him couldn’t help but hope she had agreed to it simply to feel out the situation. Simply to help her decide whether or not she wanted to go on a date with him.

He pushed that thought to the back of his mind as she entered the cafe. As much as he could, Kyle stood in the booth. Trying to prove to her that chivalry was not dead and he indeed knew of it. Trying to prove that Kyle Valenti wasn’t just another stupid jock with sex on the brain.

“Hey Kyle.” She greeted as she slid into the booth.

“Liz,” He smiled at her, hoping that it didn’t come off as being overeager. “Thanks for helping me with this paper.”

“No problem,” She said as she made herself comfortable in her seat across the table. She was happy to help a friend in need. Kyle knew this. “So, what are you having a problem with?”

******

A few hours later, Liz Parker walked into her science class. Kyle had asked her out. There was a party at some random fraternity house and he had asked her to go with him. She’d cast a shy glance across the restaurant and Kyle’s face fell. His hopes had gone up in smoke the minute she’d glanced at the booth Max Evans occupied and she politely turned him down. It had been as clear as day to him then, that Liz Parker was interested in Max Evans and why Kyle Valenti hadn’t seen it before, was beyond him.

She was crazy about Max. It was clear to everyone know. With the exception of Max.

Gingerly, she sat down on the stool beside him. Being with Kyle today, it had given her a strange confidence. Today was the day she would ask Max Evans out. “Hi,” She greeted softly as she softly placed her biology book on the table.

“Hey.” His reply was short. Very unlike him. She pushed it to the back of her head, she would analyze it later.

“Um, so...I heard there’s a party at the Delta house?” She didn’t quite know how to do this. She’d never really asked anyone out before. She’d always been the one asked out.

“Yeah, I heard.” He busied himself with setting things up for their upcoming lab assignment.

She laughed nervously. “Yeah,” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and shyly looked at him, “so, are you going?”

He nodded his head. “Yeah, I’m going.”

“I’m going to,” This was it. She took a deep breath and readied herself. “I-”

“That’s great,” He cut her off smiling, “Tess and I will see you there.”

She was speechless for a few moments, staring at him as if he had just told her that he was Hitler, reincarnated. She dropped her eyes to the table. “Oh. Right.” She forced a smile onto her face. “You and Tess.”

Tess had been right all along, he really did like her, and now Liz felt like a fool. She was just glad he’d cut her off before she had put herself out there to be humiliated.

“You goin’ with Kyle?” He asked, something unrecognizable was in his voice. Something that Liz couldn’t quite name.

Before she could stop herself, the words flew out of her mouth. “Yeah,” She told him, forcing yet another smile.

Again, there was that unrecognizable emotion in his voice as he said, “Cool.”

As soon as class got over and Liz had said her goodbyes to Max, she reached into her bag and retrieved her cell phone. Quickly punching in Kyle’s digits. She couldn’t quite believe what she was about to do, but she couldn’t quite stop herself from doing it either.

“You’ve reached Alex and Kyle. We can’t come to the phone right now, but leave a message and we’ll get back to you.”

“Hey, Kyle, it’s me Liz.” She took a deep breath before pushing ahead with the rest of her prepared speech. “Um, I changed my mind about that party. Call me later and I’ll fill you in on the details.”

I feel incredibly stupid. This whole time I had thougth that I actually posted Part Five, when in fact, I hadn't! Forgive me.

Part Five

“You’re sure you want to do this?” Maria asked for the tenth time as she sat on Liz’s bed, her legs curled beneath her. She looked on as Liz busied herself with getting ready. “You’re not much of a partier, Liz. You’ve like, never even been to a party in your life. Not one with alcohol anyway.”

“I know that, Maria.” Liz snapped. She’d been in a foul mood ever since her biology class ended. “I just, I don’t know. I guess I have to see it for myself.”

“That’s torture!” Maria threw her hands up in the air and sighed with exasperation. “Why on earth would you want to torture yourself?”

“I don’t know,” Liz looked at herself in the mirror, trying to decide whether she should wear her hair up or down. “When I looked at him today in the Den, I thought for sure that he was looking at me too. I don’t know, Maria, I just got this vibe. I thought that he felt the same way. Which is why I was all set to ask him out this afternoon.”

“WHAT?!” Maria shouted as she jumped to her knees on the bed. “You got balls?”

Liz laughed, despite her mood. “Yeah, I got balls.”

“God, I could kill Max Evans for being so unbelievably stupid!” Maria plopped back down into her original position on the bed. “Your balls probably shriveled up and died, thanks to him.”

Liz shrugged. “I just have to see them together. Maybe I can get over this stupid crush if I see him hanging all over Tess.”

“You mean maybe you’ll stop having a crush on him when you see him hanging all over big boobs McNasty?” Maria snorted. “Yeah right.”

“Just help me figure out what to wear.” Liz said with an exasperated sigh as moved from the vanity mirror toward the closet.

“Alex and I are coming. You know this, right?” Maria asked as she pushed herself off the bed and made her way toward the closet. “I can’t let you go to your first real, college party all by yourself. What kind of friend would I be?”

Liz bit her lip. This was the part she didn’t quite know about. The part that Liz had neglected to fill her in on. “Um, actually I’m not going alone...” When Maria raised a brow, Liz continued. “I’m actually going with Kyle.”

“Kyle.” Maria said the name as if it were foreign to her, like she had never heard it at all.

Liz nodded, “Kyle.”

“Liz,” Maria’s tone was full of warning. “I know you aren’t a stupid girl. I know you know that Kyle likes you.”

“It’s not like that, okay?” She began rifling through her closet, ignoring Maria’s stare. “Kyle is just a friend. He knows that’s all I’m interested in. He knows who I’m interested in.”

“Does he?” Maria asked accusingly.

“I’m not leading him on.” She tried to be as convincing as possible. She wasn’t leading him on. Was she? “I’m not.”

“Oh-kay.” Maria said as she also began rifling through the closet, searching for an outfit for Liz. “You have no party clothes.” Maria said suddenly. She’d obviously chosen to forget the whole Kyle thing for now and focus on getting Liz ready. Without warning, she grabbed Liz’s hand and led her out of the room. “Let’s check out my closet, babe.”

An hour later, Liz was dressed in a white mini-skirt, a pair of Maria’s red pumps, and a red halter top with a plunging neck line. She felt naked. “I don’t know about this outfit, Maria.”

“It looks great on you.” Maria flashed a big toothy grin at her. Her green eyes were sparkling. She was obviously very proud of herself.

“Don’t you think it makes me look like,” she considered her next words before speaking them, but abruptly decided there were no other words for the meaning she was trying to convey. “A slut?”

Maria stared at her. “I wore that outfit last week.”

“It looked nice on you.” Liz was getting flustered now. “I just don’t know if it’s...me.”

“Going to a party isn’t you, Liz.” Maria shot back. “What do you want? To go dressed like a librarian?”

“Librarians can be sexy.” Alex argued in Liz’s defense from the couch.

“Alex, honey, zip it.” Maria waved a hand dismissively in his direction before turning her attention back to Liz, “You’re going to kill in that outfit, Liz. Tess Harding won’t know what hit her when you walk into the room and steal her date.”

“That’s not what I’m going there to do.” Liz interjected.

“I’m confused then,” Maria cocked her head to the side and stared at Liz quizzically. “If you’re not going there to steal Max away, what are you going there for?”

“I don’t know.” She answered with a shrug before leaving the room to put last minute touches on her hair and makeup.

“Maria Deluca, I know that look.” Alex said from his spot on the couch. “I’m telling you now, leave it alone.”

Maria sauntered over toward the couch, her hips swaying with an over exaggerated flair. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Alex.”

“You know exactly what I’m talking about.” He told her heatedly as she straddled him on the couch. “And, I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

“You don’t think what’s a good idea?” She asked breathlessly, wiggling as though she were trying to get comfortable. She smiled as he bit his lip.

“Whatever,” His voice cracked and he cleared his throat to stifle the moan that was threatening to erupt. “Whatever it is you’re planning.”

“Planning?” She giggled girlishly as she leaned in closer to him. “I’m not planning anything. Except for what I want to do to yo-”

“Oh god!” Liz shielded her eyes as she entered the room. “Get a room!”

I had so much trouble with this part. If it sucks, I'm sorry.

Part Six

“Max is here.”

Liz whirled around and greedily stared at Max Evans as he entered the door. She tried not to notice that Tess was holding his hand, leading him further into the crowded house. Instead, she focused on him. He was finally here. She sighed, despite the conditions of his arrival. She’d been waiting for him for over an hour, sipping on beers that Maria had supplied her with.

“What should I do?” Liz asked nervously, her gaze never straying from him. “Should I act casual? Like I don’t care? Go up and say hi? Ignore him?” Finally, she turned toward Maria, “Tell me how to play this Maria.”

Maria, having drank several beers, leaned in closer. “Go over there, take him in your arms, and kiss the shit out of him.” She leaned back, looking fairly satisfied with herself. “That should let him know you’re interested.”

Liz giggled. The beers were having an effect on her, but she was that far gone. “No,” She shook her head, a playful smile on her lips. “I can’t do that!”

Maria shrugged as if to say she didn’t know what to say. “Let’s go dance, then.” She suggested, “Until you figure out what to do about this.” She was slightly slurring her words now.

Liz nodded, taking Maria’s hand. She rolled her eyes as Maria led them straight in the direction where Max and Tess had gone. The dance floor was in the opposite direction and they were taking the long, scenic route. Liz surmised that Maria wanted Max to know they were there.

“I’m stilllll in looooove, with you booooy,” Maria sang as she and Liz danced together on the dance floor.

Liz laughed. Despite the situation, she was actually having a good time. Once they hit the dance floor, she had forgotten about Max and just started to enjoy herself. As Maria sang to her, she shook her groove thang all over the dance floor, garnering attention from all sorts of people.

Her dancing had caught the attention of her date, who handed his beer to one of his friends he’d been talking to and joined her on the dance floor. She welcomed him by wrapping her arms around his neck and singing to him, “You don’t know how to love me,” She sang loudly, “Not even how to kiss me.”

She pushed him away, playfully as she continued to dance and sing.

Unbeknownst to her, Max was watching from the doorway he’d been standing in. At first, he had been mesmerized by her lithe form moving on the dance floor. He hadn’t known she could dance that well. He figured all girls could, but he hadn’t a clue that she could. However, when Kyle had moved in, he wanted to punch the guy. As irrational as it was.

He slammed the beer in his hand, tossing the can behind him when he’d finished every last drop. Internally, he was seething. Kyle and Liz were making quite a spectacle and the alcohol was definitely getting to him, quick.

As Tess approached with a beer, he grabbed it out of her hands and cracked it open, gulping it down as quickly as he could. “Thanks.” He said as he tossed the empty can behind him. “Let’s dance.”

She was fully aware of Max Evans now. He was doing some particularly dirty dancing with Tess. She rolled her eyes. She was well on her way to being drunk now and she wasn’t havin’ none of that. She grabbed Kyle and rolled her hips into his before dropping low and popping up again, rolling her hips into his once more.

She looked toward Max. They were having some sort of silent dance off and it was gaining a lot of attention from various party goers. She stared at him as she turned her back toward Kyle. She was moving her hips in a very sexual way against him, and she knew it.

She would have to do some serious apologizing for this later. She couldn’t help herself though, she was using him right now and she knew it. Despite going to the party as friends, she was definitely using him now.

Quickly, she turned around. “I’m sorry I’m using you like this,” she whispered in his ear.

He laughed, “You can use me like this anytime, Liz.” Smiling, he made a show of holding her head and whispering, “I’ve never been used before, I kinda like it.”

Unable to stop herself, Liz laughed as she pulled back. Apparently, that had been the thing to set Max off. Pushing Tess away from him, he closed the space between himself and Liz and grabbed her arm roughly, pulling her behind him as he went toward the door.

“What the hell, Max?!” She shouted, ripping her arm from his hand once they were outside. She ignored the spectators. “What’s with the caveman act?”

“I had no idea you were such a slut, Liz!” He yelled at her, slurring his words badly. He was beyond drunk now. He’d had several beers since slamming those two before dancing.

Shocked, she smacked him across the face. “Fuck you. At least I’m not here with Tess!”

“Oh no,” he said sarcastically, unfazed by the smack in the face, “You’re just here with Kyle, that’s so much better.”

She poked him in the chest. “Actually,” She glared at him, “It is. You’re with the slut, Max. Not Kyle.”

His kiss took her by surprise. It was hard and fast, but she eagerly accepted it. She opened her mouth, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him closer. Her passion was mounting at a fevered pitch. All those months of crushing on him, she released into their fierce kiss.
