Summary Max and Liz are actors. They knew each other since a long time, when they were attending that Art school in N.Y. but they never worked together until that a director proposed them to make a film. this is a dreamer fic but Tess will be here.

Author note: Sorry for the summary but this is my first fic here and i don't know how to explain...I hope you'll let me feedbacks...

Prologue:

In the FOX's office, that day, all the girls were excited. They were waiting for the hot star Max Evans, he should come to sign for a movie. When he arrived, he was assailled by those girls wanting to touch him, to kiss him but mostly to have an autograph.
The director, Jake was watching the scene, smiling. He had the proof that he made the good choice, Max was so popular, the women were dying to approach him.
Max tried to find a way to enter in the office with his agent's help...
Max- Jake! don't stay just looking like this! after all, they are working for you, you should be more severe with your employees!
Jake- Sorry, but i can't. You're a star, you're compelled to please your fans. That's the price of the celebrity.
Saying that, Jake noticed that the female co-star Liz Parker was arriving, he made a way for himself to welcome her.
Jake- Liz, i'm so pleased to see you.
Liz- Me too, what's happening here?
Jake- Oh, that's just Max and his female fans...You know how they are!
Liz- Not really before today.....i forgot that he was so popular!
Jake- Only with the women! that lucky man!....Come on in Liz...How are you?
Liz- Fine, i'm excited to see what you're proposing.
Jake- Excited to work with Max too?
Liz- I wouldn't say EXCITED to work with him, that surely will be interesting. We'll see. You know, i'm not as popular as he is so why did you choose me.
Jake- I'm sure you'll fit perfectly with the charactere. One second, please Liz.............MAX! Come on, we don't have all the night long to sign that contract!
Max- OK...I'm here....OUPS! you're not alone!
Jake- Don't be silly! we're waiting for you...

Chapter 1

Max came by the desk and was surprised to find Liz. Jake didn't want to tell him who was the co-star and he understood now...
Max- LIZ? What?....Oh, you're my partner here? Jake, why didn't you tell me?
Jake- I knew that you would be pleased to see Liz by your side in that movie, when she accepted the role, i prefered to let you the surprise to find out who was your co-star.
He looked at her...She was so beautiful, he remembered when they were younger, he had a little crush for her but she was so eager to play on a stage that she never paid attention to him...Time passed but he never forgot her....
Max- He's right...it's a real pleasure for me. We never had the opportunity to work together but i saw all your films.....
Liz smirked and replied, sarcastic....
Liz- MAX!! I didn't work that much...i'm not as busy as you are...and i don't have masses of people hunting me for an autograph!
Max- Jealous? Don't worry baby, i'll take care of you during the shooting!
Liz- Thank you, Max, i don't need a bodyguard, i can take care of myself....and i'm not sure that Tess would appreciate!
Max frowned, he had forgotten his girlfriend, he was so pleased to meet Liz that Tess was out of his mind. Seeing the mischievous look in Liz's eyes, he smiled...
Max- I'm sure that Tess will understand better than you...i don't remember you so bitter, maybe that's why you're laughing at me and my fans.....
Liz- I'm not bitter and i was not laughing at you or your fans! I've the right to talk about what i want even about your female fans....AND you have no right to forbide me nothing!
Jake- Humm...humm
Max- Jake, i think that we'll have a big problem there with Miss Parker...You should have told her who was her partner, she wouldn't be so angry with i don't know what, by the way!
Liz- I'm not angry, i just don't like the way you act with me, i'm not your baby!
Max- You'd like to be?
Jake- OK.....The game is over! I let you talk but we have a lot of things to settle and i won't tolerate an argument between you. I thought that you'd have been happy to work together, i see that it's not really the case, but that doesn't matter. Ok, Liz, are you available, i'd like to shoot next month.
Liz- I'm but i didn't gave you my agreement...I'd like to know the plot and we have to discuss the contract before....
Max- Whaou! i see that you don't need an agent! Where did you learn to discuss a contract with a director..
Liz- Just know that i'm not a spoiled girl, i've to manage my life by myself even if i always have my parent's support.
Jake- Max!! Ok, Liz, you're right but i've wanted to know if i could count on you for that film...
Liz- If we agree with all the points, you can count on me. It will be a pleasure to work with you Jake...even....
Jake- Even?
Liz- Forget it.
Jake- ..............Fine, Max? You're available too?
Max- I think that i won't have nothing to do....
Jake- I want your agreement! If not, we can't continue on that project...Stop playing like a star, please!
Liz couldn't help but smiled. Jake was a good director and he's strong enough to put Max at his place. Max frowned.
Max- I'm not playing like a star! What's the matter with you? Is there a coalition against me or what? That pleases you to hear Jake laughing at me, huh Liz? Geez! i don't want to work with someone jealous about my reputation!!
Liz- Jake, i think that the meeting is over... He's right on one point, we can't work together.
Jake- OK! STOP! Sorry Max, i didn't want to laugh at you but you seemed so full of yourself...i apologize.. but, i can't tolerate that behavior, you are adults, and Max, i'm sure that Liz is not jealous at all of you, right Liz?
Liz nodded yes. Of course she was not jealous, that was the opposite. Since she left the Art School she did some movies, good ones cause the public was there and the critics were full of praise, but Max is a star, very well known and she was scared to shoot with him, let alone that she always had a crush for him since school.
Jake- Fine! Liz, we'll discuss about the contract later..i'd like to tell you the plot..Well i received a script about the famous city of Roswell, you know all the alien stuff....the script is very good, based on a love story first...
Max- A science-fiction movie?
Jake- Not only, we'll have a scifi part but like i said, it's mostly a love story between two young people..
Liz- Ok, it's a love story, but could you explain more?
Jake- With pleasure. Listen, we are in Roswell, Max you play an alien, madly in love with a human played by Liz...Because of what you are you hide yourself and of course your feelings. But you are co-workers in a law-office and one day, you have to work together on a serial-killer case....and then, you are compelled to confess to her your deep secret....and so on....if you agree with that project, i'll give you the script of course....So? What do you think? Liz?
Liz- Good story.... it's a sort of Romeo and Juliette in the 21th century...
Jake- Before we discuss about that, Max? What do you think about?
Max- Yes she's right...a good story....i just hope that it's not only a love story....i like the scifi side, that might be interesting to dig that part..So it's a remake of Romeo and Juliette?
Jake- Not really...It's a love story between an alien and a human but even if it will be hard, you won't have the family conflict part...The reason why you will have many problems to get together is your alien statut.
Max- I understand...That's weird though, why i am an alien?
Jake- That fact is a plus, to complicate the story...how an alien could fall madly in love with a human and how they'll manage to get together dispite that enormous difference?
Liz- Jake, do you let us to read the script before we agree?
Jake- Yeah...2 days...in 2 days, i want your answer.
Max- 2 days!! That's nothing!
Jake- To take or to leave...I've thought about both of you cause i'm sure that'll be a fabulous film..If you agree, we have to make a test, i've to seek the other characteres, you see a lot of things, but if you're not in the project, i've to seek someone to replace you and i won't have much time.
Liz- Ok, we don't need to stay here and chat...i'm going home to read that script and in 2 days, i'll call you back.
Jake- If you agree, in 2 days, we'll sign the contract...
Liz- Fine...so, i'm leaving....Jake, that was a pleasure to see you....Bye Max
Jake- Me too Liz and i really hope that you'll be with us.
Max- Liz, i'm coming with you. Bye Jake, i'll call you back.
Jake looked at the 2 actors...Even if they were arguing earlier, there is something between them that he couldn't define....a sort of chemistry....a strong chemistry....No...definitely, he didn't make the wrong choice with them..

Chapter 2

Max- Liz! Liz, wait! Did you decide to avoid me or what?
Liz- Max!! Really i don't understand you anymore....I'm not avoiding you, we've finished this meeting, we have 2 days for reading that script...i've no reason to draw out that conversation. I said good bye, you didn't hear me?
Max- You're in bad faith, Liz....so much, i've told you that i'm coming with you.....it seems that YOU didn't hear me or didn't want to hear me....Anyway, i'd like to talk longer with you, are you ok for a drink?
Liz- Tess is not waiting for you?
Max- What the matter with Tess? I'm with her but i can't live and breathe without her. I'm not married with her!.............So?
Liz- So what?
Max- LIIIZZZZ! I've invited you for a drink. Do you have time, we've just found ourselves again after years, it could be nice to talk a little. I'd like to know what happened to you since the Art School.
Liz- I'm sure you're not the kind of man who understand the word "no", so i'm not going to argue with you. Bye Max, see you in 2 days, if you're in the project.
Max was taken aback, he didn't understand why she was so rude with him since the moment they met again.
Max- Why? Why are you so rude with me? Are you scared of me? Angry with me? We just met again and apart from that little joke about the "baby" thing, i didn't do anything against you. I've ask you for a drink, i thought that was a good idea...i can understand when a woman doesn't want to be with me, i don't insist.
Liz saw the disappointment and the pain in his eyes, even if he was an actor and a good one...she was scared to fall again for him whereas he had a girlfriend. She reflected 2 seconds....
Liz- Sorry, i didn't want to be rude...Ok, i agree to take a drink with you, i can read the script later...
Max felt relieved and a bright smile enlightened his face. He was pleased to spend some time with his old friend and he expected that working together will make them coming back to that friendship...
Max- Ok, let's go. If you want, we can take my car and i'll take you back here.
Liz- OK. Fine for me.
Max- Give me your hand, my car is by this way...
Liz- You need my hand to go there?
Max- No, i need your hand for the pleasure to have it in mine. Do you want to give me your hand?
Liz looked up at him, puzzled..He was surprising her, but once again, she was wondering if he was sincere or it was just a game for him..a way to use his freetime....She shrugged, no he was not that bad...so she held out her hand, Max took it and squezzed it.
Hand in hand, they crossed the street to reach his car..
Liz- Max there is a bar in this street, we don't need to take a car...we can.....
Max- No Liz, i don't want this one. I want to lead you to a place i'm sure you've never seen.
Liz thought that that was a place where he used to go with Tess....As if he was reading her mind he said:
Max- No Liz, i never went there with Tess.
Liz- I didn................
Max- You thought about it so strongly that i heard it. ( laughs)
Liz- But i didn't say it loud, huh?
He lifted her hand till his lips and brushed it softly...
Max- No..don't worry ba...hum..Liz.
Once again, he almost called her baby, he couldn't help to do it and he didn't understand why. Liz did as if she has not heard and looked straight before her...
They drove until a little place in the front of the sea. That was so nice and calm, like if you're alone in the world with the sea, the sun was shinning and the sand looks like it was white....The restaurant was in fact a little white house with royal blue curtains at the windows..
Liz- WHAOU...You're right, i've never been here...
Max- I've told you..The bar owned to a friend of mine, Serena, you'll see she's very kind and funny....
Liz- And discreet?
Max- Yeah, but the people who come here know me for the most, so i don't need to hide myself or dress up as someone different...
Liz- Sorry, i didn't mean that...I was meaning discreet about the women you could bring with you...
Max- I don't need her to be discreet when i come with my mother or my sister...
Liz was speechless. Did that mean that he never came here with another woman even Tess....Once again, Max seemed to read her mind...
Max- No...you're the first i bring here apart my mother and my sister...
Liz- I'm sorry Max....i never thought...
Max- I know...you think that i'm the devil in disguise, but i'm not. If i brought you here, it's because i wanted us to stay in a quiet place with some kind people and then talk about your past...mine if you were interested....
Liz- I already apologized, Max...What do you want me to do? to bow to you? You're not a king, right?
Max- No, i'm not a king and i wouldn't want to be one, believe me.. To be celebrate is quite enough for me to bear, i don't need more.
Liz- Poor Max, stop complaining, i'm going to cry....
They burst out laughing...and the tension lessened.

Chapter 3

When they get in the restaurant they were welcomed by the owner, a small brunette with emerald eyes, she went straight in front of them and huged Max and kissed him on his lips....
Serena- MAAX! I'm so happy to see you! How are you?
Max- I'm fine Ser, happy to see you too, look, i came here to show your restaurant to an old friend of mine...She had no idea that such a place could exist near to L.A.
Serena- An old friend? She didn't seem that old? Hi, i'm Serena, Max's friend. I think that he has forgotten the elementary rules of the attentiveness.
Liz- You're right, i'm not so old, but we were in Art School together a long time ago, that's why.. And you're right about the attentiveness too, but i'm his guest, so i'm going to wait a little more before attacking him...
The two girls burst out laughing since Max was frowning, he didn't like to be the one who people laugh at. But he was happy to see that Serena seemed to appreciate Liz..
Max- When you'll finish to laugh at me, maybe Ser you could lead us to my favourite place?
Serena- He has the annoying habit to think that he is the king and everyone has to serve him.
Liz- I've just told him the same thing before we got in your restaurant. He's too famous for us, he's out of our league.
Serena- If you were here when he came with his mother or Isabel his sister, you'd see another man, believe me!
Max- Ok, when you'll have finished with my little person, we'll be allowed to sit!
Serena- Go Liz, i'm afraid that our friend could have an attack. By the way, you should come back alone the next time, we'll have all the time to talk about him as much as we want...(laughs)
When they were installed, Serena went to take their order.
Serena- What do you want to drink?
Max- Do you have some french champagne?
Serena- Champagne?
Liz- Huh, Max, i don't get used to drink alcohol. Don't feel compelled to order champagne, i'm not sure that i could stand it.
Serena- Excuse me Liz....Max, are you celebrating something today or what?
Max- I'm going to sign a good contract for a film and i found my friend Liz again...2 good reasons to drink champagne, no??
Serena- You're completely right. I bring a bottle or just 2 cups of champagne...
Liz- Please Serena, i'm already embarrassed with that order, i don't think that a bottle could be a good idea. Actually, Max is driving and me too.
Serena- Ok, i'll bring 2 cups of champagne to you. By the way, he's not used to order champagne, you know...you must be someone very important for him.
Max- Serena, go and get the 2 cups and let me woo by myself, will you.
Serena run to the counter to pour out the champagne. She didn't lie, that's the first time that Max orders champagne apart from the first time he got a role and the one when he got the oscar...But for a woman, that was the first time....hey! that's the first time he brings someone here, she must be important in his heart.
Liz- Max, i don't want you to spend your money for me, champagne is very expensive and i don't think i deserve a cup of champagne. And i should add that you have a girlfriend, so you don't have to woo to me.
Max- Peace is over! Are we going to argue again? Geez, grow up a little. Look, if i wanted to come here with Tess, nothing could have stopped me to do it, don't worry for that.
Serena- Here we go 2 cups of champagne for you and one for me, after all i'm your friend! I've the right to celebrate too!
Liz was not comfortable with the idea of Max wooing to her so she pulled a chair for Serena before Max had the time to answer.
Liz- Sure. Sit with us. Huh Max, that's better like this. We're celebrating the new contract all together.
Serena looked at them. What happened between them, Liz seemed nervous around Max and he was acting like if Tess didn't exist anymore....That girl was very speciale for him, that's obvious.
Serena- So Liz, tell me about you and Max in that Art School. I'm sure he was already playing like a king and the others are here to be used....
Max- Serena!! i've never used people for my career! You, more than anyone, know how hard i've worked to reach that level. I didn't want to be that famous, you know.
Serena- Sorry Max, i know who you are, i've just wanted to tease you.. I forgot that you don't like people who doubted of your talent....
Max- Not my talent, Ser, my sincerity....i love that job, not for the fame, but for the pleasure i can give to the people who come and see my movies.. You already know that!
Liz- But you like to be acknowledged in the street by your fans! i saw you at Jake's office.....
Max- WRONG!!! Completely wrong! If you think that it's easy to bear when you can't go out without people running after you for an autograph, or spying every move you do...You think that i like to have the photographs after me? No, Liz...Like you, when i studied at the Art School, i did it for one reason: i wanted to play on stage, i've never planed to play in movies, that was the theater...always. But, i don't know how, the cinema kidnapped me and here i am.
Liz- Do you mean that you're not happy? That the fame is a weight for you?
Max- In a way, yes...When you're not free to act like you want in your life..you become unhappy. You have no right to have a private life when you're famous...
Liz- I think that Tess is disturbed too. You can go out with her without photographs on your back..
Max- Liz, Tess loves to be an actress, she loves to see people hanging on to see her, she loves to sign autographs, she loves when people notice her when she goes out...She's able to create a scandal to have people looking at her. I'm with her, but i'm not like her.
Liz- Why are you still with her if she didn't make you happy?.....OUPS! That's the champagne fault....
Max- I'm with her cause i have no time to look for the good one for me...And she's not so bad, she has some good sides..
Liz- I bet.

Liz stayed silent. She never thought that it was that hard to be well known, but Max was more than well known, he was famous, he was popular all around the country, even out of the country. She heard that french and english directors had offered him fortunes to work with him. And in spite of that, he was not so happy...worse, he was not even happy in his private life!

Feeling that she was not at her place, Serena let them alone. She was certain that they needed to talk to each other and maybe, Liz, that so speciale girl in Max's heart, will be the one he was looking for since so long.
Max was troubled by Liz's silence. He was staring at her and giving in an impulse, he caressed her cheek with his thumb, softly. She looked up at him, surprised and she felt dizzy under his gaze and she didn't try to push him away when he bent and brushed her lips with his. She closed her eyes and parted her lips granting him the access he was demanding, both were lost in their embrace, oblivious of the surroundings.

Chapter 4

Max and Liz were lost in their embrace. Max tightened his grip and deepened the kiss, Liz moaned softly. She was like in a merry-go-round, her head was spining and she didn't seem to stop.
When they pulled away to breathe, they were eyes locked trying to understand what happened. They were talking and the minut after they were kissing as if there is no tomorrow. Max was perturbed cause he never reacted that way with another girl. That was the first time he lost his control with a woman that fast.....and that was just a kiss!
He wanted to lighten the atmosphere but found him unable to do it...

Max- Liz...i.....
Liz- Please, don't say anything. That's the champagne fault if we kissed. I'm not used to act that way with a man i barely know.
Max- I'm not a stranger for you, Liz. We've known each other since the Art School, a long time ago.
Liz- That's right but we lost contact since then and we've just met again....Actually, i don't know what gets me to react like this, except the fact that you have fabulous amber eyes and you are a very good kisser.

Liz tried to lighten the atmosphere, she never felt like this with another man and she was scared. She knew that they had to work together for months and if she let things go worse, she'll regret it.

Max- Good try, Liz!
Liz- What?
Max- You want to act like if you're a modern woman who says what she thinks.. But as you said, you're not used to act like this and i see in your eyes that you're as scared as me.
Liz- I think that we should leave now, and let me remind you that you have a girlfriend waiting for you.
Max- That's not exactly Tess's type to wait for me when i'm out.
Liz- So what, you're not happy with her and you count on me to change that in your life. Forget it. That kiss was a mistake, Max, i've told you that i couldn't stand alcohol. You didn't believe me.
Max- That's what i said, you're scared....like me.
Liz- Stop it, will you. I prefered you when you were full of yourself and teasing me. That's not funny anymore, and if you could get me back to my car, i would be grateful.

Liz wasn't aware that she raised her voice until she saw Serena look at them, abashed. She had seen them making out and she was happy to see her friend fascinated by a woman and she hoped that maybe she would be the one who get rid of Tess. But now, seeing them facing like that, she was disappointed, she made a sign to Max, meaning to give up and let her deal with Liz.
Max was sad, for the first time that he let his feelings get the best of him, he was rejected. It was hard, but he had his pride and he acted like if Liz's words didn't reach him.
Max- Wait for me one second, i'll get my car.
Liz nodded.

While Max went out to get his car, Serena came out of her hiding place and grabbed Liz's hand.
Serena- Please Liz wait...I'm sure we have time to talk.
Liz- About what?
Serena- You and Max....Liz, he likes you....a lot. I've told you, you're the first he brings here and i saw the way he was looking at you...I've never seen him looking at Tess or any other that way, never.
Liz- Serena, i know, you're his friend and that's praiseworthy from to defend him like that. But, let me tell you that, even if we know each other since Art School, we lost contact since a long time and we've just met again this morning. I'm not that fast, and i'm not used to go out with man having a girlfriend, you see.
Serena- I know that, i've seen what kind of girl you are....but please, give him a chance.. he deserves it and you too.
Liz- Maybe, i don't want to give him that chance.....maybe i've a boyfriend too...
Serena- I don't think so....You're not a kind of woman who cheat on her boyfriend, so no, i don't believe you. Liz, you're scared but he's scared too, i've never seen him like this. Try to know the real Max, Liz, the one that i know, he's completely different with the one the public know and Tess know.
Liz- Tess? Are you telling me that Tess didn't try to know the real Max too?
Serena- No Liz...When you'll meet her, you'll see what i mean. It's his notoriety that she likes not him, she didn't know him....They sleep together, that's all.....she fullfills his lonelyness, that's all and he doesn't try to find someone who could love him cause he lost that hope.
Liz- And you think that i'm the one who can give him that hope again..
Serena- Yeah, cause even if you denied it, you have a common past...Art School and i'm sure that something happened there. Wether you've forgotten it, or you've wanted to erase it from your memory for some reason. You're the only one who knows, with Max of course.

While they were talking, Max entered in the bar to tell her that the car was ready. He saw her, she was listening what Serena was telling her with attention. The way she was frowning proved that she was not convinced by Serena's explaination.
When they were younger, he had a crush on her but now, they grew up, she became an amazing woman and he was scared of the feelings she was inspiring him..Even if they were worked in the same industry, for him she was like a lamb and he didn't want to see her swallowed by the wolves which will revolve round her.
He has the yearning to protect her against the whole world, he never felt that with Tess....he understood that little by little, the crush turned to be love....he was falling for her slowly but surely and he was terrified.

Chapter 5

They were in the car, in a awkward silence. None of them wanted to talk. They were lost in their thoughts and even if, now and then, Max glanced at her, they didn't talk.
When they reached Liz's car, she'd like to jump out of the car, but Max held on her wrist, softly but firmly....

Max- Liz, please don't shut me on...we're friends, and we are going to work together and i know that i've feelings for you...it's fast i know...but they are here (pointing his heart), i can't deny it, please give us a chance to know each other better, that's all what i want for the moment.
Liz- We don't know if we're working together yet. I didn't read the script and i have to do it before giving my agreement. Max, i heard what you said, i heard your good friend Serena too. She likes you very much you know!
Max- I know...I presume that she told you the best about me and you're suspicious. you have the real Max here, Liz, as real as i'm with my family, my close friends like Serena. You know what, i'm letting you reflect about that and we'll see what will happen between us. OK?
Liz- OK.........Max, i don't want to lose your friendship and i'm not sure that dating would be a good idea. Let's thing settle between us and we'll see. Maybe i won't like the script and i won't play in that film, who knows?
Max- I don't think so...i'm sure we're working together on that film, you'll see.

Actually, Max doesn't want to think about that possibility, i couldn't imagine to lose her again, not that she's his or even he had an ounce of chance to date her, but he liked the idea to work with her, to be around her many hours during the shooting. He didn't read the script too, but Jake had told them that they should play 2 lovers, that means kissing scenes and tenderness, and love. Hard for him to stay cool with that kind of scenes with Liz now that he was aware about his feelings for her.
He took her back to her car...
Max- Liz, take your time to read the script, without preconceived ideas and if you allow me, i'd like to call you later and we could talk about it....
Liz- Sure, why not?
Max- I let you go home....bye Liz
Liz- Thank you for the drink....bye Max.

When Liz got in her car, Max couldn't help but stayed looking at her. She had changed but in the best way, she's more beautiful than before and more reasonable too. If they had had that conversation when they were younger, Liz could have said yes and she would have gotten rid of Tess in the same time...
But she was older, she was scared to be hurt, that was obvious....she didn't know that Max was waiting for someone like her, maybe he was waiting for her without knowing it and now that she was in the picture again, he won't let her the chance to escape...He wanted her.
He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't see her leaving, when he realised it, he sighed and lelf too. He drove to his appartment. He has to read a script and Jake is waiting for them.

Liz arrived at her appartment, she took the time to reflect about Max and what he said....Serena said that she should take the time to know the real Max, he told her the same....So who is the real Max? Is he the Max she left a while ago? How could she know if he wasn't playing with her to get in her pants and leave after that? She was sure that she had taken the reasonable decision: stay friends. That way, no one will be hurt.
She sighed, took off her shoes and sat on the couch to read the script.
She remembered that it was a scifi story with alien, but she has forgotten that that was a love story too. That what she found out reading the script.....more than a love story, there was enough fire between the two characters to burn a whole forest! whaou, there are 2 lovemaking scenes! No, impossible to shoot that! She never did, and she didn't intend to begin with this film!
She was furious and decided to call Max, to know if Jake told him about the script....

Max- Hello?
Liz- Max, that's me Liz
Max- Liz, happy you call me so fast....
Liz- Don't be....I'm furious!
Max- Why? What happened?
Liz- 2 questions: did you talk with Jake about the film before i came? Wait...the 2nd....did you read the script?
Max- Always the same with your questions, did you prepare them before asking like you used to do at school?
Liz- Max, i didn't call you to talk about the past or anything else!! Could you answer my questions, please?

Max gave up, he haven't a chance to make her realise that, maybe, they were meant to be together. She was stubborn enough to flee far from him, if he was continuing to bother her with his feelings.

Max- I'll be there, bye Liz.

One hour later, Max came and pick her up... He held the door opened and bent to kiss her before she entered in the car, but she turned her face so he only reached her cheek....he went back at his place, disappointed....

Max- I come to pick you up and i can't get a morning kiss?
Liz- Max, i think should stop that game with me....you have a girlfriend, i don't want to be involved in a relationship with you. I reflected about that waiting for you and i think that you misunderstood me. I'm flattered of the interest you have for me, but i want to work and i've no intention to get involved with anyone during the shooting.
Max- That's because of what i said....that i couldn't sleep with Tess.....
Liz- No Max....Look, Jake called me for that shooting thinking that i could fit with the character, i hope we'll settle the problem of the lovemaking scenes cause i really want to make that film, but you're not included in the plan....i mean, you're my partner in the film but we don't have to sleep together. Do you understand what i mean?
Max- What i understand is that you don't care about my feelings for you, and that hurts....

Liz looked at him...once again he was playing, so used to see everyone obeying to his desires, he couldn't stand to see someone escape...But she was determined. Even if her refusal means that she won't be able to have this role, because of his fame statut, she won't change her mind...For her, he was a little boy who is fed up of his old toy and has a fierce yearning to get a new one.

There is too much sex in the films today, some romantism could change that and people would appreciate...

Max- Yes...but there is no "together" anymore. You can't manage by yourself, you're a big girl..You said it and i'm sure you're right. So get out....right now!
Liz- Max, if i get out of this car, i promise you....i won't let that unpunished...You don't want to hear the truth, you think you're over everyone...you think you're the best...you think that everyone has to be at your feet and if you find someone who doesn't act like you want, you throw out that person...I'm not a garbage...and i'm not a whore....

Tears were flowing on her cheeks but she didn't care, no one treated her that way...and because she told him what she was thinking about him and he didn't like it, he was rejecting her like that... She blindly opened the door and went out the car....running.
Max collapsed on the wheel..
Why? Why she didn't believe him....what did he do to deserve what she said... Why was she unable to trust him. He would never manipulate her cause he was not naturally someone like this...Hell, he would have given the whole world to her if she had wanted....but she didn't want to have nothing to do with him anymore...
Liz kept running, the tears were blinding her but she didn't want to stop until she was arriving to Jake's office....

Liz was breathless when she reached Jake's office, everyone was looking at her when she entered and Jake's assistant ran to her boss's office to announce him Liz Parker's here.
Jake went to welcome her but stopped when he saw her. She was dishevelled, her eyes red and black because of the make up and she was breathing very hard...

Jake- Liz! What happened to you? Someone tried to attack you?

She drunk silently, trying to gather her thoughts...she was still furious against Max but first she had to recover her breathe, she admitted that running like that in the streets was not so smart....

Jake turned towards Liz to see if that bothered her...

Jake went out leaving the 2 actors in an awkward silence. Max was trying to see what damages their previous conversation had had on her...But she refused to let him look at her, she gave him her back.

Liz- It's the same for me, i can hear what you have to say like this.

Furious, Liz turned round.....her eyes were shining with anger....without caring about people who could hear them, she yelled on him...

When Jake came back in the office, he found Liz very upset, Max has been able to get her on her nerves and she was angry with herself to let him do it so easily. The next time she'll see him, she made the promise to stay like a statue, for the moment Jake was there and he was the fool who had decided to make her "sleep" with Max for a film.
Jake- Liz? Are you ok?
Liz- No, actually no. Listen, as you see we have a problem, Max and me, and i've a problem with you too...geez, when i listen to myself it seems that i'm a kind of woman who get used to annoy everyone, but i'm not.. You, to begin, how dare you to put that kind of scenes? 2 lovemaking scenes for Max and me, and even him, he told me that that will be hard for him to shoot that!!

She couldn't help but cry out and outside, everybody heard that, Max the first...He didn't know if he could enter and give her some support as they have decided before their quarrel. He imagined her, she must have her eyes sparkling with anger, she's beautiful even when she's furious...that remind him that Liz was furious against him and he lost the possibility to live something great with him.

Jake- Liz, calm down! i think you're overreacting there and i can't tolerate it in my office, so if you can speak lower, i'll be grateful. OK...You don't agree with the script, i'm not surprised speaking of you. I knew that you would come here and contest those scenes. I know who you are, Liz, i didn't choose you without knowing what kind of actress, of woman you are. That's why i've asked to take part in that project.

Jake- If you said it! Anyway, that's that incredible chemistry which makes me call you for the role and Max by the same way. I know that you're a sensible girl, that you've never shot that kind of scene, but we're not talking about a porn, but about love! L.O.V.E., Liz, that's only love.
Liz- You didn't need that kind of scene in a love story. Your characters don't need to make love, and twice!
Jake- Liz, i'll be straight with you. Do you intend to not shoot that film?
Liz- NOOO! I've never let someone down, and if you know me as well as you said, you know that! But please, could you cut that scenes? They are not essential for the story.

Once again, outside, Max heard her yelling...he was pacing up and down, frustred to not have the right to share that conversation. He didn't know why Liz has yelled this time and he hoped that Jake could make her change her mind about the film. Even if she didn't want to have anything to do with him, he couldn't bear the idea of losing her.

Jake- They are, believe me, they are...and i'm not saying that for the audience. You know why you don't want to shoot them? Because of what you share with Max...you're scared to fall for him deeper after that. In the bottom of your heart you know that i'm not asking you for playing something vulgar, that's the opposite...You read the script...during those scenes, the main thing is how they reach extasy because of the incredible love they share, that's not the act itself....
Liz- Jake, the story is great and new. Two people coming from 2 different worlds who fall madly in love one another, that's unbelievable, i agree and i want to make that film.....but please, i agree for the kissing scenes but i'm sure i couldn't play those scenes.
Jake- Tell me one thing, do you agree to try to play them, i mean, we try and don't worry that'll be very soft and if, really, you can't go on, we stop. It's an honest deal, no?

Liz went to the window, desoriented..... Jake was doing his best to sooth her worries and she has the yearning to make that film...she knew that the deal he offered was honest, she had nothing against....but....and that quarrel with Max earlier....she didn't know if she was able to work with him, he said that he has feelings for her and he treated her like shit in the car....She wasn't sure she could forgive him for his behavior and in another side, he was disturbing her...and Jake who believed that she could fall deeper for Max.....What to decide? That's a big dilemma!

Jake- Liz, do you agree for Max coming here to discuss with us?
Liz- NO! Jake, i'm sorry but he hurt me when he threw me out of his car, not physically but he did. I'm not some shit he picked up in the street. I'm a human and the girl he was working with. What you ask is hard for me.
Jake- But, if you accept my deal, you realise that you'll have to work with him and consequently to see him?
Liz- I know...Listen, i'm not a spoiled girl. He hurt me! I'm sorry to disappoint you.
Jake- I understand...he behaved like a jerk with you. We'll do as you want. But, i hope that on the shooting, everything will be settled between you. I'm sorry Liz, as much as i like you, and i want you in my film, i couldn't tolerate to see my lead actors fighting during the shooting. I'm sure you understand me, so i'll talk with Max, alone, but for the next meeting i want you and him, here in my office, together!
Liz- Jake, did you hear me agreeing with your deal?
Jake- WHAT??
Liz- I'm joking! and i hope i could trust you...if it's hard for me, you'll cut those scenes?
Jake- I have one word, Liz.
Liz- Ok, you have my word too. Now, i'm leaving, i'm exhausted....could you tell your monkey to leave me alone until the next meeting. I don't want to have to deal with him too.

Jake scratched his eyebrow, it'll be far from easy on the shooting with her but he understand her point of view, that jerk hurt her and he'll have to correct his behavior if he wants to be in good terms with her.
He watched her leaving and saw the second door opening.. Max followed her with his eyes, sad....She surely didn't agree to talk with him...and it was all his fault......
