Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the characters; I’m just a hopeless dreamer
Author’s Note: This is a new style for me….If you like, let me know and I’ll continue with this, but I’m not used to writing these types of stories, so gimme just a little bit of slack, lol. The first chapter starts to explain a few things, so it might be a little slower paced, the following chapters will be a lot faster paced, don’t worry.
Chapter 1: First day of school
“Honey, c’mon, we’re gonna be late for your first day of school!” Liz Parker called to her 5 year old daughter, Heather. The little blonde girl came running up to her mother with a huge smile on her face and jumped into her mother’s arms, “Got your lunch?”
“Yes mommy,” Heather said, proudly displaying her new Barbie lunchbox. Liz smiled and walked outside with Heather still in her arms. Since the school was only 2 blocks away, they were walking. Liz set her down and took her baby’s hand.

“Ms. Parker…who is the father?” the nurse at the hospital had asked her, right after her little angel was born.
“Father….um…he’s dead,” Liz said, lying. The nurse eyes her warily, but wrote down her phony answer none the less.
“Would you like to hold her?” another nurse asked, just finished cleaning Heather Rachel Parker. Liz nodded anxiously and took her newborn daughter in her arms.
“I’m going to be the best mommy ever to you…I promise,” she whispered into her baby’s ear. Surprisingly, birthing Heather wasn’t hard at all, she wasn’t in one of those 2 day labors, her water broke, and Heather came out half and hour later. She ran her hand lovingly over her daughter’s fuzzy blonde hair, and for a second her stomach felt uneasy, but then she looked into the big curious brown eyes and lost all feelings over uneasiness.

“Now, you be a good girl and listen to Mr. Evans okay Heather?” Liz asked the girl, kneeling down in front of her in the playground.
“Mommy, can you come in with me…puleeeeeese?” Heather asked. Liz, being a major pushover when it came to her daughter, nodded, and took her hand, leading her to classroom 9 when the bell rang.
“Good morning!” A man, presumably Mr. Evans greeted them as they walked in. Liz looked up and froze for about 2 seconds, before smiling and walking a nervous Heather in.
“Liz Parker, this is my daughter, Heather,” Liz said, offering her free hand to Mr. Evans.
“Very nice meeting you Mrs. Parker, I’m Mr. Evans, and I’, looking forward to having Heather in my class,” Mr. Evans said, smiling down at Heather.
“Actually, it’s Ms,” Liz said, correcting him. She hated it when people assumed just because she had a child she was married.
“My mistake, I’m sorry, now, Heather, why don’t you go sit in the seat that looks nicest to you, and we’ll let your mommy get going,” Mr. Evans said as other kids walked in. Heather nodded with big eyes and pulled Liz over to a desk in the middle of the classroom.
“Can I sit here?” she whispered. Liz laughed quietly.
“Yes, baby you can, now, mommy has to get to work, I’ll be here to pick you up at 12:30,” Liz said. Heather hugged her mother tightly before sitting nervously in her seat as a little brunette girl sat next to her.
“If there are any problems, please call me,” Liz said to Mr. Evans, handing him a sheet of paper with her home, phone, and work number on it.
“Don’t worry, have a good day Ms. Parker,” he replied, waving her goodbye as she exited the room.
“What a beautiful woman,” he thought to himself when she left. Long dark hair and enchanting chocolate brown eyes, with a perfect figure, “She must be no older than 25.”
Liz walked quickly back to her apartment and changed into her uniform. She had a part time job at the local Nordstrom’s, working in the junior's section of clothes.
“Heather sure did have a looker for her teacher,” He was gorgeous, short brown hair and hazel eyes, with a muscular build, “most likely in his early twenties,” Liz thought, sighing, “what is a gorgeous man doing, being a teacher, and he’s not even married!” She had noticed, while shaking his hand, that he didn’t have on a wedding band.
Liz dismissed her thoughts of him as she drove in her Ford Escape to the local mall. She wasn’t rich, by no means, but when her rich aunt died, she had left her a little over half a million, most of it Liz put in a trust fund for her daughter’s college tuition. With the rest, she had bought the car, and her 2 bedroom apartment.
“Liz, late!” Mrs. Josaline called as Liz walked into the junior section of clothes that she worked in.
“Sorry, first day of school for Heather,” Liz apologized, walking behind the register.
“Don’t let it happen again,” she said, walking out of the dressing room with an arm full of clothes, “put these away for me please dear.”
“Sure,” Liz said, taking the clothes and putting them on the proper racks. Even though she was almost 23, she still wore the clothes in the junior’s section, being very petite and thin. Having a baby didn’t affect her body in any way.
4 hours later she checked out and made her way back to the school to pick Heather up. Looking down at her watch she noticed that there were about 10 minutes left. She parked her car and walked into the building, glancing inside Heather’s classroom door. They were apparently in free time, and Liz smiled widely at the sight of her daughter playing blocks with the little brunette from earlier.
Max Evans looked up from his desk and out the door, noticing Ms. Parker standing there, watching her daughter. He got up and waked over to the door, opening it.
“Hello, Ms. Parker, class is almost done if you would wish to get your daughter,” he said politely, noticing that she had changed and ws wearing a more funky outfit, a black skirt and a sheer green top with a pink spaghetti strap tank top underneath.
“I’ll let her finish up, has she been good?” Liz asked.
“Very much so, you have a very intelligent daughter. She’s very friendly as well, her and Adriana clicked immediately,” Max said, smiling at the two.
“Did she cooperate at nap time? She’s never really been one for afternoon naps,” Liz said.
“Yes, fell asleep almost immediately,” Max said.
“That’s good! Hey baby!” Liz said, as Heather noticed her mother talking to Mr. Evans, and saying something to Adriana before both of them ran up to Liz. Liz knelt down to Heather’s level.
“Mommy, this is Adriana, she’s my bestest friend,” Heather said. Adriana smiled shyly.
“Why, hello Adriana, I’m Heather’s mommy, Liz,” Liz said, shaking Adriana’s tiny hand, “now, we have to go sweetie, don’t worry, you’ll come back tomorrow,” Liz said. Max smiled secretly. Liz. The name suited her perfectly.
“Ok, bye bye Adriana,” Heather said, hugging her new friend before going up in Liz’s arms with her lunch box and backpack on.
“Goodbye Heather!” Max called.
“Bye Mr. Evans!” Heather called, Liz waved and walked out of the classroom, leaving Max dazed.
