Prologue
“Come on Liz,” Kim said as they stood next to Liz’s locker. “You need to get over Kyle. It’s been like a week."
“Kim, I don’t want to go because of Kyle. I just don’t want to go because I don’t want to go,” Liz stated.
“Are you sure you not depressed about Kyle breaking up with you last week?”
“I am positive and besides Kyle and I were not that serious. It was a mutually decision to break up.”
“Well then fine. Then, You just need to learn to have some fun.”
“I have fun,” Liz said taking a book out of her locker. “Just because I would rather go to the go to a football game instead of a party … or that I actually find joy in club meetings and whatnot does not mean that I do not know how to have fun.”
“Whatever, Liz. I am having a St. Patrick’s Day party this Friday and you are coming,” Kim stated.
“Umm, I don’t know.”
“Liz! You are coming and you are going to tell your parents that you are spending the night. I will not take no for an answer.”
“Fine, but under one condition.”
“What is that?”
“Alex and Maria are invited too,” Liz said sweetly closing her locker door.
“But I don’t get along with Maria.”
“That is my condition.”
“Fine, whatever you want,” Kim says then turns her attention to something behind Liz. “But that doesn’t mean that I have to talk to her now. Bye.” Kim walks off causing Liz to look behind her to see Maria and Alex coming up to her.
“Oh, what did the wrench have to say,” Maria asked.
Liz just rolled her eyes. “She is not a wrench and she just invited us to a party she is having this Friday.”
“All of us,” Alex inquired.
“Of course.”
“Right,” Maria said raising an eyebrow, “because she likes us so much.”
“All right, so she invited me and I told her the only way I would go was is if you two went.”
“Well, I’m in,” Alex stated. “Maybe I will get to see Isabel Evans there.”
Maria and Liz rolled their eyes and started to walk off to lunch.
“What I say?” Alex asked running after them.

Kim walked into the band room to find a friend of hers playing with the drums. She slowly walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. “So did you get the stuff?”
“Umm, and if I did? What are you going to do for me?” He asked as he turned around to face her.
“What do want me to do?” Kim asked in a seductive tone as she licked his ear.
“Well, there are no more classes in here for the next two periods. I am sure we can think of something,” he said as he began to run some kisses down her throat.
********************************
“So, are we going to this party this weekend,” Michael asked Max and Isabel as walked toward their table in the quad.
“Who did you say was turning it,” Isabel asked talking a seat.
“That Kim girl,” Michael said as he and Max followed Isabel’s led and sat down.
“The girl that hangs with Liz Parker?” Max inquired.
“Yeah, I think. Liz Parker is that smart girl in our class,” Michael asked.
“Yeah, that’s her,” Isabel answered. “Did you know that she and Max use to hang out all the time in elementary school?”
“Really?”
“Yeah, they were inseparable.”
“Isabel,” Max warned.
“So, what happened?” Michael asked taking a bite of his sandwich.
“Oh, he got popular in middle school and forgot all about her,” Isabel teased.
“Isabel you have no room to talk. You use to always hang out with Alex Whitman in elementary and then you got popular,” Max rebutted.
“Whatever.”
********************************
“Liz, I really don’t want to go. You know that Kim and I don’t like each other,” Maria said as she sat down at their usual lunch table. "More than that ... we HATE each other."
“Please Maria. I really want you to go. You know that I don’t really like parties. I need you there to keep me company,” Liz pleaded as she and Alex down too.
“No, I do not like that girl,” Maria exclaimed.
“Which I have never understood.”
“Because I don’t get good vibes from her. And besides the only reason that you are friends with her is because in sixth grade she had two classes with you that neither Alex nor I was in, and the two of you became friends by default. But guess what sixth grade is over, yet we can seem to get rid of the girl.”
“Maria, please just come to the party with me.”
“Well, Alex said he was going,” Maria stated.
“Yeah, but he is going to spend the whole time drooling over the Ice Queen,” Liz responded.
“Hey! Can the two of you stop talking about me like I am not here,” Alex commented. “And I will not being drooling.”
“Whatever Alex. I don’t even know why you waste your time. You have never even had a real conversation with the girl,” Maria declared.
“That’s not true,” Alex defended. “I use to hang out with her all the time.”
“Yeah, maybe in elementary school. We all use to hang out with Max and Isabel Evans back then but they got popular and forgot all about us,” Maria responded.
“So what,” Liz added. “We all grew apart. Big deal; it happens all the time. Anyway now back to this party. Maria you have to come. Please.” Liz was looking at Maria with puppy dog eyes.
“Ok, Ok. But you better keep that wrench away from me.”
************************************
Kim sat up and started buttoning her shirt. “Alright, now where is the stuff.”
The guy sat up besides her and handed her a small zip lock bag with a few pills in it. “Here you go precious. It was a pleasure doing business with you.”
“I’m sure,” Kim said as she got up and walked out of the band room without another word.
