Prologue

Two longtime best friends were outside playing basketball. One boy, one girl from the very start of their relationship

everyone knew that they were made for each other. Everyone but them. This above all is a love story, but in a complicated

way it's a trial of friendship, family, loyalty, trust and the pain of two young lives. This is the story of Maxwell Evans

And Elizabeth Parker.

Part 1
Max POV

It was the last year of Junior High and Max Evans was excited. But most of all he couldn't wait to see his LIZard again. After a summer without her he just couldn't wait to see her again. LIZard, as Max liked to call her, had gotten her nickname by eating alot of lizards when she was younger.

As Max was stepping out of the door his mother yelled out, "Max sweetie go staight to Liz's house and then to school!"

"Kay mom!" I replied like a good boy.

Oh boy LIZard, here I come!


As I walked towads her house I couldn't help but think of Carol Ann. Carol Ann was the most perfect girl in Max's opinion. She had short blone hair and blue eyes, that shined so bright. She was witty, smart, funnyand beautiful and Max had liked her since the first momnet he laid eyes on her. Liz on the other hand hated Carol Ann's guts. They were complete opposites. Liz was plainand geeky, she had brown hair and big brown eyes. Liz was quiet, shy, smart beyond belief, and sarcastic but in a teasing way.

Liz's POV

When Max reached Liz's house she was upstaris in her room checking out her out fit. Liz had gotten braces over the summer which she hated.

Oh gosh, I wonder what Max will think.

"I hope I don't look too much like a dork." I said outloud.

"You shouldn't keep your hopes up." My so called best friend replied from the door way.

"Hahahah real funy Evans, you're a class act." I replied, sounding like a snobby priss.

Max's POV

I looked at Liz and couldn'y help but laugh. There she stood in jeans with knee holes, a flannel shirt, new braces and elasses.

Talk about train wreck!

"So Max how is sweet beautiful Carol Ann?" Liz asked sarcatically.

See what did I tell you, she is sooo sarcatic. I wonder what her problem is.

"What crawled up your butt and stuck?" I asked just as rudely as she did.

"Nothing, le's just go!"

And off we walked to school catching up with each other.

Liz's POV

We were walking to school and I could not help but notice just how much he changed. He was taller, his hair was longer and not spikey, compared to him I was like a tiny little field mouse.

"So Liz what did you do in Florida during the summer?" Max asked.

His voice has gotten deeper too.

"Umm, well lets see, I went surfing, saw movies, visited family and ate tons of chocolate." I answered remembering my sugar high.

"Sounds fun."

"It was. Hey where's Izzy?" I asked.

"Well she wanted mom to drop her off instead of walking." He said annoyed with his sister.

WE stopped to let the cars pass by and that's when bozo noticed Carol Ann across the street.

Great now I'll have to pry him away from Carol Ann.

"Hey Max, Earth to Max." I called as I waved my hand in front of his face.

Wnderful, absolutely wonderful.

"Carol Ann looks pretty don't ya think?" Max asked dazed.

"Yeah a real knockout. Now let's keep moving lover boy." I said as I watched him drool.

Wonderful.

Max's POV

Geez, she look absolutely gorgeous!

To my left Liz is mumbling something incoherent, but I don't care. I just look at Carol Ann She has definitely gotten more beautiful if that's even possible.

As we make our over to Carol Ann she smiles and waves.

I think I've died and gone to Heaven!

"Hey Max, Liz." Carol Ann says.

Wow, her voice has gotten sexier.

"H-Hey.. uh Carol Ann." Geez smooth aren't I.

"SO are you excited to be in our last year of middle school?" Spoke my queen.

"Yep, it's a real pip!" Liz replied sarcastically.

So I then nugged her in the side making her yelp.

"Yeah it's real cool, I think." Way to go Maxwell real saucy, not.

"So I'll see you guys later, toodles!" She said perkily.

"Keep dreaming Maxwell she's way out of you league." Says my so called best friend.

Liz's POV

Here I am watching Max drool all Over Carol Ann. YUCK!! I really don't understand what he sees in her. So she's pretty, well-endowed and isn't a complete dumb blonde....... Yeah yeah I know what you're thinking "Shut up! She sounds great."


But peple dont see her like I see her, she's ill-mannered and she seems so fake! ut Max is my best friend so I keep these naughty thoughts to myself, well most of the time.

Anyways here we are in !st period Math. And my teacher Seems nice but is oh so boring! He talks so slow!

"Hi........My.......Name......Is.......Mr........Caltivan........and.....welcome.....to......pre-algebra...." My teacher said.

But thankfully I share this class with my best friends Max, Maria, Michael, Isabel and Alex. Unfortunately Carol Ann shares this class too.

Can I ever get a break?

Anyways, let me tell you about my friends.

Maria: She's like my sister, things I can't tell Max I can tell her. She is really pretty, She has strawberry blond hair, green eveys and when it comes to talking WHOA!! I can't even explain it.

Michael: He's Max's Older brother, he got held back in 1st grade. Hes' like my big brother, I swear him and Max are soo over protective of me. Micheal's hair is just wierd I'd explain it more but that could take forever.

Isabel: Is Max's twin sister even though they look nothing alike. Isabel is like Carol Ann lookswise cept Izzy's eyes are brown and she's taller with a smaller nose. Not that I', saying Carol Ann's nose is big.. I Just.. Aw screw it. Anyways, I share special and secretive thing with Izzy and vice versa. What are those secretive things? Well I'm not telling you anything.

Alex: He is by far the hugest goofball I ave ever known. He is the pratical joker everyone loves and man is he hilarious. I remember this one time he put super glue on our 2nd grade teachers phone it was stuck to her ear all day, and the shocking thing is that the teacher wasn't mad. He's lanky with brown hair.

Max: Max is my bestest friend in the whole entire world. He's loyal, sweet, caring, always there, hilarious and I've known him since we were born. You see our parents are best friends so of course we ended up following their footsteps.

Max's POV

Here I am sitting in pre-algebra watching Carol Ann.

*sigh* man is she beautiful!

She looks over at me and smiles.

She's the one, I just know it.

"Max.....would.......you.....like....to....answer....my....question....?" Mr. Caltivan asks.

"Which one?" I ask cockily.

"Well....then...how....about....Liz?"

"The answer Mr. Caltivan is 0.6753." Liz answers.

Know-it-all!!

"Yes....that....is....correct."

I then look over at Carol Ann and she's glaring at Liz.

Well, at leat the feeling's mutual.

Can you believe that I have 4 classes with Carol Ann? 4 Classes!

Liz is in all of my classes, 2 with Maria, 3 with Izzy, 3 with Michael and 2 with Alex.

Liz's POV

Now I'm sitting here trying to eat my lunch, while Max is drooling over Carola Ann.

Gross

"So Liz what do you think of Mrs. Stanely?" Maria asked.

"Umm.. She's okay, but she uses words she can't even spell!" I say remembering 2nd period.

"Yeah she was giving us a prompt and she didn't know how to spell catastrophe!" Max said.

"Thanks for joining us again Max. Have fun in Carol land?" I ask sarcastically.

"Yeah whatever." Max said blushing.

"Hey Max you wanna play basketball after school?" I ask casually.

"I can't I gotta babysit Zoe."

In case you didn't already know Zoe is Carol Ann's younger sister.

Yep Max is sooo whipped!

"Can't your lover do it for you?" I ask.

"No she has ballet pracice." He answered automatically.

Creepy!

"Oh that's okay I've got H.W anyway." I say as my feelings get crushed.

Can't he notice any other girl? *Sigh.*

Not that I like him or anything.

"Huh?" Michael says.

Part 3

Max's POV

Well here I am at Carol Ann's house.

"Hey Mr. and Mrs. Lewis." I say as I enter

"Good evening Max. ZOE MAX IS HERE!" Max future father in law shouts.

"Comming!" Says a tiny little voice.

Zoe comes running down the hallyway flinging herself into my arms. "Hey Zoe." I say as we so our secret handshake.

You know it's amazing how much she looks like Carol Ann.

I start to tickle her and she starts screaming for help. "See you later Max. And Zoe be good!" Mrs. Lewis says before exiting the house.

"So what shall we do my lady?" I ask in a british voice making her laugh.

"Can we go to the movies?"

"Naw sweetie we have to stay here."

"Awwww, that's no fun!!" She complains loudly. "Ooo I know let's read my sisters diary!" She says excitedly.

"What? No absolutely not!" I screech shocked.

"But Max there's stuff about you." She says batting her eyelashes at me.

Stuff about me?!?! Really, I wonder.

And suddenly I here myself saying, "Sure okay."

Liz's POV

"So Liz?" Izzy says.

"Yes Izzy, what?" I ask.

"Do you like my brother?"

"What?" I scream.

"You heard me, do you?" She asks with a sly smile on her face.

"No, absolutely not!!! that's perposterous!!" I exclaim.

"Then why are you getting all defensive?" Maria asks butting in.

""I am so not getting deffensive of Max!"

"Oh look Maria, she's getting defensive about not being defensive of Max." Isabel says laughing.

"I am not being deffensive, about being deffensive of not being defensive of Max!"

Did I say that right?

"Yeah sure whatever......OMG did you see what Carol Ann was wearing to school today? I mean how is that not out of dress code?" Izzy asks.

"Come on you know how those shorts weren't out of dress code." Maria says.

"I do?"

"Yeah," I say, "They're magical shorts. Everytime an administrator walks by they grow and inch or five."

"They do?" Isabel asks.

"Yep, and then as the administrator leaves they shrink again." Maria says scarily.

"Okay you guys are wierd." Isabel says.

"Yeah we are."

"But seriously did you see what she was wearing?" Izzy asks again.

"Yeah I know, what a total skank." Maria exclaims.

"I don't know what my brother sees in her."

If I didn't say it already, I'm saying it now. We are the 'I-hate-Carlo-Ann' club.

Max's POV
Later That Night


"So there I was Michael reading Carol Ann's diary with Zoe When-"

"Whoa, whoa wait a minute, back up. You were reading her diary?" Michael asks.

"Yes now let me finish. Anyways, there were like all these pages about me, me! And how much she likes me!" I exclaim still in shock and disbelief. Zoe and I had entered her room and took her diary out from under the bed. And we sat there reading pages and pages about me!

"Wow, so what are you gonna do about it?" Asks my super smart older brother. Cant you hear the sarcasm rolling off like waves? I swear Liz is sooo rubbing off on me.

"I- I think I'm gonna ask her out." i say proudly.

"Whoa, Whoa wait a minute aren't you forgetting something? or should I say someone?"

Huh? what in the world is he talking about?

"Michael what in the world are you talking about?"

"Liz." He says simply.

"OH crap!" I say as realization hits me. "Liz is gonna hate me if I do that to her."

"Well Maxwell, I guess you're gonna have to decide if Carol Ann is someone who is worth giving up everything you have with Liz."

Liz's POV
The Next Day

Yay it's another joyous day of watching Max fall in "luv" with Carol Ann.

Can't you just hear the sarcasm? I think I'm finally beginning to rub off on Max.

Anyway Max called me last night and said he had something urgent to tell me. What if he realizes that he Loves me and wants to join the 'I-hate-Carol-Ann' club?

Yeah right if only life were that perfect!

"Liz sweetie Max is here and you better huirry if you don't want to be late for school!!" My mom yells.

"Kay!"

Well here goes nothing!

On our way to school max is reallysilent and he seems to be in deep thought.

"Max what did you want to tell me?" I ask praying it's nothing bad, like someone's dying or something.

"Liz I......I.....I found out last nightthat Carol Ann has feelings for me."

Can you hear me heart breaking?

"Oh.." Is all I can manage.

"Liz I know you don't like her, but I really think that she could be the one and I reall want to ask her out and-" he cuts off not knowing what else to say.

"Max if I saidn that I didn't want you to ask her, would it really matter?" I ask knowing what the answer was going to be.

"No ." He whispere so softly that I could barely hear him.

"Max I love you a whole bunch and I just want you to be happy in life."

Max then looks into my eyes and hugs me. "You'll always be #1 in my heart LIZard. your my bestest friend and I love you too."

But not the way I want you too.

Part 4

Max's POV

There she is my soulmate! *sigh*

I start walking up to her and I feel very, very nervous.

"Hey Max! How's it goig?" Carol Ann asks as I approach.

"Pretty good." I replied. "Ummm.... Look I was wondering, hoping that you would be my girlfriend." I say holding my breath.

She looks shocked and embarassed, Is that a good thing?

"Max I... I would love to." She finally exclaims over joyed. So I stay with her and walk her to our first period.

Liz was already there when we walked in and when she turned to look at me I saw sadness and hurt in her eyes.

What could have caused that?

I was about to go over to her when Carol Ann took my hand and led me to her table.

"Okay....class......let's........open....up..our.....text..books...to...pge...24.." Mr caltivan says as he enters the classroom. "Wait.....let....me....assign...you.....to.......your......seats..."

If it's any consolation, Mr. Caltivan walks slower than he talks. So we ended up spending 37 mins getting situated. He set our tables up into groups and luckly i was seated with Liz, Michael, Alex and Carol Ann. YAY!!! I couldn't be any happier I'm sitting right behid Carl Ann!!!! I know what your probably thinking. I am way too young to have a girlfriend, but you haven't even seen half of the things tat go on at my school.

And besides its not like I'm going to do any thing serious. I can barely breath when i walk by her, so can you imagine what would happen if i actually kissed her?!?!?!

I look over at Liz and I still see the same emotions residing in her eyes. I woner what happened so I decided to pass her a note, as I throw it at her, it hits her nose and I try not to laugh.

I had written, 'What's wrong?'

'Nothing, I'm just tierd.' Liz writes.

'Are you sure?'

'Yep i'm just tierd.'

'Okay.' I write and look over to Carol Ann only to see tat she is staring very intently at me. I give her a little grin as Mr. Caltivan starts to talk again. "Back...to...page....24.." As he is talking Carol Ann passes me a note.

'Hey is everything okay with Liz?'

Awww... She is so considerate!

"Yeah she's just tierd, alot of homewok I guess.'

'Oh okay.'

'Is it just me or is mr. Caltivan the most boring teacher ever?' I write.

'Nope it's not just you... "He.....talks......like....this." ughhh!'

'I know right. So what do you wanna do tonight? I mean if you not busy.' I scribble nervously.

'I'm not doing anything, maybe you could come over later.'

'Great I'd like that.' Score!!!!

Just then the bell rings and I say bye to my GIRLFRIEND, looking for LIz. I see her leaving and run to catch up with her.

"Hey Max! Are you doing anything later? Cuz I was thinking that we could go to the movies."

"Uhhh..I can't cuz i'm going over to Carol Ann's house." I say hoping not to upset her.

"Oh.... Okay, that's fine." She says as we enter the classroom.

Liz's POV

Great he has a "date" with Carol Ann.

Isn't that just wonderful!!

I know. I know I'm his best friend, shouldn't I be happy for him? Wll sure , I want him to be happy, but with Carol-Frickin-Ann, myt arch nemesis? When she walked into 1st period with Max she gave me this smile that said, "I'VE WON!!!!" Ughhhh!!!!! What I wouldn't give to........well I'll leave it to your imagination.

Max looks so happy and me being all glooming isn't making him glow with happiness. *Sigh*

Isabel found out 1st period and boy was she pissed.She said that he was the most stupidest, inconsiderate, selfish pig. Maria was shocked to say the least. Well, on a brighter note, Mrs. Stanley is gving us a board opener trying to spell out devious. How she got this job, I'll never understand.

LUNCH

Max isn't sitting with us today because Carol Ann wanted him to be with her and her friends. Isabel is calling her choice words that I'm am not going to repeat. Max looks over at me and gives me a small smile mouthing, 'I'm sorry!'

I just look away pretending not to notice and when I look back he's looking away frowning.

it's not my problem Max it's yours. *sigh*

It's gonna be a long day. Hopefully I can finish my H.W and chores before Six. I look over the table and see Isabel staring at Michael A glare gracing her features.

Uh-oh what'd he do now?

"You knew didn't you? You knew and you didn't tell me?!" Izzy accuses him getting everyone's attention. Hey what can I say it's what she's good at!

"Isabel calm down." Alex says.

"Calm down? Calm down? This jerk had the nerve to keep something this important away from me, his sister!" She exclaims.

"He didn't want you to know cuz he wanted to be the one to tell people." Michael says hoping not to upset her. I turn and see Max watching the whole thing laughing with his new group.

Max's POV

It's been 9 days, 5 hours and thirteen minutes since I've been going out with Carol Ann. It's been 8 days, 11 hours and seventeen minutes since I last talked to Liz. Around the middle of last week we had this huge blow up, it went like this:

Liz entered my house saying, "Hey mom, pops! I was wondering if Max could come and play basketball down at the park." she leans down and kisses my parents on the cheek.

"Yeah sure just don't stay to long." My dad says.

"Kay, let me go get him." Liz says running up the stairs.

"Hey Max." she said as she entered my room.

"Oh hey Liz." I replied.

"You wanna go play basketball, your parents said you could."

"I would but, I have to call Carol Ann."

"Carol Ann? Again Max? I havent seen you in 3 days because of that girl!" She exclaimed.

"That girl as you put it, is my GIRLFRIEND!!!" I said getting angry.

"And I'm your best friend!!" Liz screamed.

"Not anymore!!" I shouted.

"What?" she asked calming down.

"I said Not-any-more!"

"Fine then see if I care you self-centered idiot!"

"I may be a self-centered idiot, but at least I'm not an ugly bitch!"" I screamed, immediately wishing he could take it back. I watched Liz look at me once more with tears in her eyes and run out of the house.
Could I be any more stupid?!?!?

After their fight they drifted farther and farther apart. Carol Ann was pleased that Liz Parker was finally out of the picture.

Max moved on not wanting to dwell in the past. Isabel, Michael, Maria and Alex watched helplessly as the two people the loved

fall apart. In the end Liz went to a boarding school in Boston, leaving all her childhood memories behind. Max was left to dwell

in his thoughts remembering the girl who was once his best friend. Now years later, everyone is in there senior year. Max and

Carol Ann have been dating on and off since Liz's departure and now there back together stonger than ever. But what will happen

when 'Little Lizzie' comes back not so little to finish her senior year????

Liz's POV

I can't believe I'm actually here again!

Here I stand in the Crashdown, a resturant my parents now own!!!! Yeah it's a little odd but they seem to like it. After all, it is Roswell, alien capital of the world! I'm sitting on a couch in the back room reading a book called 'Nerd In Shining Armor', is it just me or does this book remind you of two certain people. Only I'm not in shining armor.

I wonder how my friends will take it when they finally see me again, because I didn't tell them about my arival, or the fact that I was coming. I wonder if Max is still going out with Carol Ann? No, No, no i shouldn't think about Max after what he did it's hard to believe i still want to see him. he caused me great pain that day we fought. Never in my entire life did I think he could use those words and shot them at me.

*Sigh* That's all in the past, just have fun! that's all in the past, just have fun! That's all in the past, just have fun!

My little mantra isn't helping. Well I wonder what they'll think when they see, cuz Lord knows I'm not little anymore. I glance down at my attire and body.

Yep I'm definitely not Little Lizzie!

Just then I hear the bell sound and laughter come filtering through. "Max I can't believe you think that we evolved from monkeys!"

That would be Isabel!

"Well what do you expect him to think, I mean look at his ears!"

That would be Maria!

"Hey don't make fun of his ears, at least he doesn't have webbed feet!"

Michael!

"Whoa wait a second who has webbed feet?"

Alex!

"I know who! *Smack* Ow what was that for?"

And Max...

"Hey don't smack him!"

CAROL ANN?!?!?!?!?!

Well I knew that it was a possibility, Oh well, SHOWTIME!!!

I walk up to the swinging doors plannig in my head what I was gonna do.

Max's POV

I moan out loud as Carol Ann sucks on my neck.

Oh how I've missed her!

"Hey guys, lay off the PDA!! We're trying to eat here!" Michael says as he sipps his coke.

"Really Max me and Michael do not need to hear and see our brother making out with his chick!" Isabel says sheilding her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah yeah I get it okay!" I shove, lightly, Carol Ann of my lap. She straightens up her appearence and I follow the act.

"Good, now eat the food not each other." Maria says laughing and I threw some bread at her.

"Hey guys is it just me or does that girl at the counter look strangely familiar?" Alex says pointing.

we all turn to look and see a girl our age sitting sipping her drinka and reading a book, her face hidden by her hair. As I look at her I can't help but feel this jolt of remeberance, but I can't seem to place her. As i continue to stare I take in the deatail of her body.

And man what a BODY!!!!

This girl is wearing a black minni skirt and heels showing off her long curvy legs. She is wearing a black and raed tube top that hugs her in all the right places. The hair shielding her face is very long and looks silky in texture, it has a chocolate coloring, and boy do I like chocolate. If I wasn't in love with Carol Ann I would totally try to hook up with this girl!!!

Damn Who Is She!!!?????!!!!!!

"Well I don't recognize her but she looks like a huge slut to me." Carol Ann says snapping me out of my daze.

What the hell am i thinking I got Carol Ann!!!!! She's my soulmate not this new girl!!! But still, that girl is stirkingly familiar!

"Oh plaese Carol Ann she's like a nun compared to you and what you wear!" Maria says earning a glare from me.

"Well at least my baby likes it, right Max?"

"Yeah baby." I say and kiss her lips giving that girl another glance.

She's looking over here and I can now see her face clearly, but then suddenly she looks away. I still saw her and She has kissable lips, a cute nose and huge doe eyes, that sparkle brown and are suprisingly familiar. Whoa whoa whoa wait a second huge brown doe eyes, doe eyes, brown, shining, FAMILIAR?!?!?!?

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

"LIZ?!?!?" I question rather loudly earning the attention of the enire resturant.

Liz's POV

okay so I'm gonna sit at the counter and see if the notice me. I look over and see Max looking pretty darn cozy with Carol Ann. Ughhh what I wouldn't give to....... well you know. I look over at my old friend seeing just how much they have changed.

Maria: She's now taller and more beautiful than I ever remember. She really grew into her face!!! Just kidding!

Isabel: Well, Well, well look at mis model over there. If I ever thought she was tall before nothing compares to her hieght now. noot that she's to tall. Her hair is somewhat longer and she looks even better than she did growing up, and that's saying something. She had already grown into her face in 7th grade!!

Michael: Well his hair is even more wierd than it was when we were kids!!!! It's still spikey but waaaay wierder!!! He also has grown into his face!! J/K!!

Alex: Ahh dear sweet Alex. He looks alot better than he did back then. his hieght isn't all that bad exspecially if he's going out with Izzy. His hair looks longer and it suits him.

"Liz?" I repeat again in disbelief. Right there not more than 12 feet away from me sits the one and only Liz Parker, my best friend.

"Liz." I hear my friends mutter as realization dawns upon them. Liz proceeds to stare at me her gaze unwavering. When she notices all the other stares she's getting from the customers she quickly turns her head and blushes.

DAMN THAT'S LIZ?!?!?!

I never thought in all the time I knew her that my LIZard could grow up and end up looking like that.

"Wasn't she in boarding school?" Carol Ann asks getting jealous.

LIz get's herself under control and starts to walk towards us. As she walks I notice the subtle sway of her hips. I watch her tuck a piece of hair softly, behind her ear. I watch -

"AHEM!!" Michael says loudly knocking me out of my daze. Liz finally slides up to the table and there is silence.

Everyone at the table is silently observing the new Liz Parker. "Wow." it seems that I'm the first one to break the silence. As I utter that one word I see Liz blush and lower her eyes from mine.

"DAMN CHICA!!!!" Maria says standing up to hug her.

"I second that!" Isabel says and follos Maria's actions.

"The same for me!" Alex says joining the group.

"Welcome back you sexy beast!" Michael says earning a smack from Maria.

I'm the last one to go and hug her, as I take her in my arms I feel strangely at home. "Welcome back! I missed ya LIZard!" I whisper in her ear and pull away. She holds my stare and quickly moves back and greets Carol Ann to everyones suprise!

We look around the diner and find everyone looking at us so we head for the back room. As we arrive there, an akward silence falls upon us yet again. I look over at Max, only to see him wrap his arms around "SKANKY GERM'S" waist.

"Karen you should have seen their faces when I told them about Jase." I say to my old room mate through the phone. Karen Shynavinskee, just happened to be Jason's younger sister. Let me guess, your still trying to pronounce thier last name. Believe me, it took me a year to say it correctly. Here let me help it's pronounced like this: Shy-nuh-vin-skee, does that help?

"So do you wanna talk to jase, cuz he just came in?" Karen says munching on something.

Do I wanna talk to him? Hell yeah I do!!!!

"Yeah sure!" I say.

I hear a little bit of rustling when Jason takes the phone. "Hey Liz how's it going?" He asks.

"It's been good, great actually, but I miss you though." Is it just me or did that sound sappy?

"I miss ya too...... But we did agree to see other people while you were in Roswell." Jase says.

"Yeah I remember. Sooo I found a guy what about you?" I ask. Whoa thaht sounded waaay to bitchy, hope he doesn't get mad. After I had asked that question there is silence.

"Yeah I found a girl too." He says somberly. "Oh really do I know her?" I ask, man do I sound jealous. Wait, Wait, Wait, I agreed to do this, and then thre's Max and-

"Ummm..... Yeah you do actually, it's your friend Sarah." Jase says breaking me out of my thoughts.

I get up from my bed and walk towards the window where I sit I the window bench thingy. I never knew what it was called, so I always called it the window bench thingy..... As I look out the window I can see the top of Max's house.

"Hey Max!" Alex says a little nervously. Hmm.. I could so make him crack!!!

"Oh yeah he's gonna crack any second now!! "Not that kinda studying....Max you know I wouldn't do that with Izzy!" He says earning me a glare from Isabel. OH I admit he's good for turning it on me, but he's sooo gonna crack.

"Oh really and why wouldn't you do that with Izzy?" I ask and we all look at him. "Umm cuz.....Well.... She's your sister!!" He says as we here Michael and Maria walk up to us. "Hey Michael guess what Alex has been doing with our sister." I say.

Everyone ont the quad turns and looks at a dude on a motorcycle, a small dude. As we continue to watch, the guy gets off and takes his helmet off and flings out his long brown hair. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, wait a second that's not a guy that's a.........OH HOLY SHIT!!!! that's Liz, it was her motor cycle!!!

Damn she looks hot in that leather jacket!!!

"HOLY SHIT GUYS THAT'S LIZ!!!!!" Michael says. Geez he's slow!!

"What is she wearing?" Izzy asks.

I look at her attire and notice tha jackets gone and she happens to be wearing, a very tight pair of jeans and a red corset looking thing.... Hmmm what are they called?

"Damn who is that?" I hear the one and only Kyle Valebti ask as he walks up. Ohhh if he lays a hand on her..............

"That would be off limits." I say earning a look from Carol Ann. "Max you do realize that you have a girlfriend and you can call dibbs on a new piece of meat?" Kyle says. Damn I forgot about that!! "Kyle I am saying this as her friend-" I start to say.

"Who said you were my friend?" Liz says walking up behind me. "Hey Kyle!" She says making Kyle confused.

"Do I know you?" He asks. "I should hope so, cuz remember that hot wild, passionate, night?" She asks huskily. What the hell is she doing?
"Yeah!" he replies. "It wasn't with me nor will iy ever be with me!! Bye!" She says and turns to Maria, totally ignoring Kyle.

Michael and alex are laughing hard behind me, as I start to join them Kyle turns red and runs back to his friends. "Geez Liz did you have to be so rude to him?" Carol Ann asks. Uh-Oh this can't be good!!!

"Hey can someone show me to the front office?" I yell. To my surprise about 20 guys come up saying they know where it is, and 33 girls all glared at me. Hmmmm.. I could definitely get used to this!! "Uh.. I dunno...how about..."

"I'll take you." Max says grabbing my arm. "Hey I didn't ask for your help!" I say to him.

"Then be happy your getting it!" He says irritated. "Geez sorry, I didn't realize you were PMSing." I say yanking me arm back form him.

"geez when did you get to be all bitchy!" He exclaims. "Well according to your words I have always been an ugly bitch!" I say watching his face fall. "Liz look I'm sorry about that, I had no right to-"

"To what?" I say, "Call it how ya see it!"

"Liz look I just want us to start over, our friendship meant a whole lot to me." He says softly.

By the beginning of 1st period Liz Parker had the halls of West Roswell High School buzzing. Man, I swear these people have nothing better to do than gossip, gossip, gossip. I kiss Carol Ann quickly on the cheek as I run to my class and take a seat, just as the late bell signals.

Whew that was close!!

"Okay class settle down, settle down!" Mr. Caltivan says. Let me guess you're wondering how in the world is Mr. Caltivan a 8th grade teacher and a 12th grade teacher. Well, Mr. Caltivan, is old Mr. Caltivan's son. Shocking, I know, can you imagiine how slow he would be in..........okay not saying. One odd thing about this Mr. Caltivan is that he talks and walks waaay faster than his father.

"Okay classs we have a new student, as you probably know already, Miss would you please come up here?" Mr. Caltivan asks, making the whole class watch and stare at Liz. Now I would have thought that this Liz Parker would turn beet red and run for the nearest exit, but this Liz was confident walking in long graceful strides all the way to the front.

"Okay Ms. Parker, introduce your self and let us know what you're like.'

"Okay well umm....I pretty much know all of you seein as how I lived here up until the 8th grade." Murmurs started through out the classroom as everyone figured out who exactly was standing in front of them.

"Lizzie Parker!!! Damn Sweetcheeks you grew up!!" I hear Cameron Basil yell out.

*Sigh* Man today has been hectic!!

"Stolks either you shut it or I'm gonna rip you frickin' hread off. Or, I could tell coach Jackson all about your drug escapades." Max said saying the last part softly.

"Yeah, yeah sure whatever you say." Lyle says looking frightened.

"Your still talking." Max says in a venomous voice.

I can't believe it!!! I have all classes with Max so far!! Are they trying to kill me?!?!

As I walk out and into the halls I hear noises, moaning. As I near the corner the noises become louder. I look around the cornner and see Cameron draped around............................. A huge Milk shake!!

OMG!" I exclaim getting his attention.

I reach my 4th period class wondering if LIz is in it. As I look around the class I see Liz sitting in the back left corner, her face tired.

"Have a lot on your mind." I finish for her. "Right..." she answers, as Mr. Colonge enters. "Okay class we have a new student, a Liz Parker. Liz would you come to the front and share a few thing?"

I notice a few guys straighten up as Liz passes by.

"Hi I'm Liz, I like to watch the sun set, I like long moonlight walks on the beach, candle lit dinner, and heart felt conversations." She says as if she's on a dating show. "Naw I'm just kidding. I like, to be me!" She says simply.

"So LIz when did you decide to become a bitch?" Pam troy asks, Carol Ann's best friend.

"Now Pam, That is an in appropriate ques-"

"It's okay teach, I can handle this. I'm sorry could you please repeat the question again?" Liz asks sugar sweet.

Uh-Oh, this can't be good!!!

"I asked, since when did you decide to become a bitch?" Pam repeats.

"Ohhh, around the same time you decided to get a boob job, nose job, lip injections and dye your hair blond!" Liz says making the whole class bust out laughing yet again. Girls are still snickering as Mr. Colonge tries to start the lesson.

Carol Ann sits nxt to me as Liz walks into the classroom. Yep I have her in all my classes!!! She looks at me and the to Carol Ann, shrugs her shoulders and takes the seat next to me.

"Okay class, we have a new stu-"

"Student, a Miss Liz Parker! Miss Parker would you like to come up here and tell us a few things about your self? Why yes I would!" Liz says interrupting Mrs. Delaney.

"Okay, I lived in Boston for the last 4 years, My parents own the Crashdown, and I have a dog named Buttercups!" Liz says.

Buttercups?? She has a dog? Since when??

"Liz Vibrateski, has a nice ring to it doesn't it?" Jake Vibrateski asks, adding himself to my very long list of guys to hunt down and slaughter.

"Yeah I guess if you need a porn name!" Liz says picking on Jake's hugest insecurity.

"Okay Liz, please take your seat and let's begin."

Liz's POV

*Sigh* I walk through the house looking for the phone. AHA, there it is!! I pick up the phone and run into my room, dialing a number I never forgot. "Hello?" a masculine voice says from the other end.

"Hey Jase it's me!" I say nervously. I was hoping to get Karen on the phone not my ex.

"Liz? Hey, how are you?" He asks excitedly.

"I'm good, I could be better though."

"Uh-oh what's wrong?" Jase asks concern pouring off his voice.

"Well I just started school, and I was actually hoping to talk to Karen." I say hoping that I didn't upset him.

"Uhhh....Okay, hold on a sec." He says disapointment lacing his voice. After a few moments Karen gets on the phone, "Liz is everything alright?" I ttell Karen about everything that has happened and ask her what I should do about Max.

"Okay, let me get this straight, you're asking me what you should do about Max?" Karen asks.

"Precisely." I say, wondering what was so hard for her to comprehend.

"Uhh...Liz I'm suprised that you even talk to him. Cuz' let's look at the facts, you come back looking all hot and suddenly Max becomes all buddy, buddy. He had months, months before you left town to become your friend again, and did he? NO!!" Karen says reshaping my outlook.

"I never thought of that, I guess that when it comes to Max my jugdgement is still cloudy...."

"You gotta fight him...Or at least have Max prove that he's worthy of a friendship with you. Cuz', it seems to me that he just wants a piece of ass."

"Gee Karen, that's an elequent way of putting it. So.....Ummmm...How's Jase?" I asks casually. Not really....

"Oh, well he's depressed and lonely...waiting for his maiden to return, to yet again bring him to life."

"Really?" I ask.

"Naw, he just really misses you, as we all do." Karen says. We stay on the phone for a hour and a couple minutes, then she has to leave.

I get off my bed and walk to the window that I have looked out so many times before. I stare out into the horison wondering, who or what exactly Max Evans is.

What is Max's game? what exactly is he trying to pull? Or is he just falling for the girl next door? Well a couple doors over if you wanna get all technical......Well, you know what I mean. *cough* Back to the story.

Max's POV

"Carol, look I cant go out tonight." I tell her as Alex wins yet another hand of poker. "Where haaving this family thing.....there are going to be some guests.....I dunno who, mom didn't say......I know it sounds kinda gay.........yeah........Luv ya too....bye."

I look up and see Alex's back, he has his hands on his back and he's groping himself, making kissy noises.

"What Alex are you getting desperate?" I ask watching as he turns red.

"Maxwell lay off, after all, he doesn't seem to be getting anythig from our dear sister." Michael says dealing out the cards.

"That's just sick dude....." I say. I look down at my cards, another crappy hand.

"Max, sweetie, can you come down stairs and help me? Oh and Alex are you staying?" My mom asks.

"Uhhh...yeah!" Alex says as I go down.

After a couple more hours the door bell rings, signaling our guests. "So mom who's coming over?"

"It's a suprise, now fix this while I go and get the door." She says handing me a vase of flowers.

When I get finished I go over into the living room to greet the guests. I look around the corner and see Jeff Parker.

OH CRAP!!!

"Lizzie, OMG look at you!!! I always knew you were going to be gorgeous!" My mother exclaims, making her blush.

"Thank you Mrs. Evans."

"Mrs. Evans?? Since when did you call me that??? I always thought that I was mom to you." I run upstairs to tell Alex and Michael who exactly our guests were.

"MAX??? MICHAEL???? ALEX???? IZZY???" Mom shouts, "Get down here." I start going down the stairs fast, tripping and falling to the bottom. "Omg!! Max are you alright?" My mother asks coming to my aid. I couldn't be any redder right now.

"Hey Max how've you been?" Jeff asks.

"Uhh.. good." I say walking around with a limp. Liz looks at me unfazed, scrutinizing my every move. And here I thought I was getting some progress!

"Hey Max." Liz says distanly.

"Liz." I say with a curt nod. I wonder why she's acting like this. It's okay when she has an attitude, but if she distant and silent, something is definitely wrong.

I guess she's very, very pissed at someone.........Me.....

"Hey Izzy, Michael, Alex!" She says cheerily as the decsend the stairs.

Yep she's definitely pissed at me!!

"OKay well Phillip isn't home yet, so why don't you kids go up stairs while we grown ups talk." Mom says, as if we're 5 year olds.

Liz walks fast pass me catching up with Izzy. "Man Max what did you do to piss her off?" Alex asks me.

"I dunno I didn't do anything." I say.

"Right that's why she just turned around and glared at you Maxwell." Michael says. I walk quickly and grab her arm before she enters Izzy's room.

"Hey are you mad at me?" I ask. She yanks her arm away from me and goes into Izzy's room slaming the door. I walk over to my room and do the same, but not before hearing Alex.

"This is gonna be one interesting night!!!"

Part 10

Liz’s POV

“So Liz how was Boston?” Phillip asks as he passes the salad.

“Uhhh…It was a lot colder and I made a lot of good friends.” I say not daring to glance at Max.

“Well, it sounds like you had a good time.” Diane says dressing her salad. “We missed you dearly when you left. Heck, Max locked himself in his room for weeks” As she says this I freeze pondering the thought and resume eating.

Locked in his room, huh? Serves him right!!

“Uhhh…. Izzy, could you pass me the dressing?” I ask even though Max is closer. It’s all about giving him a dose of his own medicine, a nasty, sticky dose of medicine. Ugghhh I hated taking medicine when I was younger!!! Suddenly Max gets up saying that he’s full, but when I turned to look at his plate, it was full.

“Ahem… So what would you guys like to play after dinner?” Phllip asks as silence descends upon us.

“Phillip honey, why don’t we let they kids play and us grown ups go chat a bit upstairs?” Diane asks.

“Uhhh…. Sure if that’s what you guys want.”

“Yeah!” we “kids” reply.

Thirty-seven minutes later, we’re sitting here in the living room staring off not knowing what to do. *Sigh* Max comes down the stairs looking all depressed. As soon as he sits down I get up to go and get my drink in the kitchen.

“Guys, do you know why Liz is mad at me and ignoring me?” Max asks not knowing that I can hear them.

“Hmmmmm…… Maybe it’s the fact that you called her an ugly bitch when you were 13.” Isabel says.

“Exactly!!! I was 13 and stupid, and plus that was in the past I don’t understand why she’s still mad.”

“You’re hopeless.” Izzy says as I re-enter the room and sit as far away from Max as possible.

“Liz?” Max asks. I of course ignore him looking for my purse. Wait, did I even bring a purse? Do I even own one? Never mind.

“Liz?” Max says more forcefully.

“Hey Izz, can we go to your room?” I ask still not paying attention to Max.

“Uhh… sure.” She says getting up.

I take a peek at Max and notice that he’s grinding his teeth. I gotta figure out what game he’s playing. I won’t be made a fool of twice, it’s time for him to feel the pain and confusion he caused me 4 years ago. “Little Lizzie” isn’t going to mess around anymore, get ready to grovel Max.

Max’s POV

“Man, Maxwell she really, really does not want to be in the same room as you!” Michael says. Man is he observant!

"hey it's like 8th grade all over again, only she's the one ignoring you!" Alex says laughing.

Gee, I wonder why they're my best friends....

Not to sound like a stupid male, but I really don't understand why she's still upset about that whole inccident. I mean, I was an idiotic 13 year old boy!! Suddenly, the door bell chimes, huh, wonder who that could be. "I got it!" I say getting up, anything to keep Parker off my brain.

"Carol Ann!!! Uhhh....What are you doing here? I ask. This can't turn out good, Carol Ann and Liz in the same house!!

"Max who is it?" Izzy asks coming down the stairs, Liz not far behind her. People, people back up this is gonna be ahuge explosion!!

"Hey Isabel!" Carol Ann says pushing her way inside. "Liz?!?!?! What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same question." Liz says.

"Well, she is my girlfriend." I say making Carol Ann smile.

I can't let Liz distract me, whatever I'm feeling will pass. After all, it's only lust, right? Carol Ann's my girl, not Liz, but that doesn't mean I can't still be friends with her. I miss having someone close that I could share everything with. And if some how it becomes morethan a friendship, I guess I'm screwed.

"Liz was our dinner guest tonight." Isabel says with superiority.

"Yeah whatever, Max since you couldn't come out tonight, I decided to come over. Little did I know you had company." She says eyeing Liz warily.

"Yeah it's a full house, maybe you should leave." Izzy says.

"Well I do have plans with Pam and Tess. I guess I should leave, that is if it's alright with you Max."

"Uhh...yeah sure." I say watching her frown with distaste.

"Or mybe I will stay a few more minutes, what should we do?" She asks.

"How about pin the tail on the ass?" Liz asks , smirking at me.

"Ummm....No." I say knowing full and well who she wants to play the ass.

"I told you tonight was gonna be interesting!" I hear Alex whisper to Michael.

*Sigh* tonight is more annoying than interesting!

What are you trying to prove Liz? Why can't you let things go?

What is Liz trying to prove? Was her ego hurt that badly 4 years ago? And is Max gonna learn life's lessons? Right now he sounds like the typical male, will his feeling for Liz mold him into a better human being? Will either of them learn to say I love you?

Liz's POV

"And soooo, I heard that Charolette wynes gave Mr. petterson head, and that's why she got "ahead", if ya know what I mean." Carol Ann says.

I am soooooo bored! She never shuts up! Do I really care about high school drama? No!! Where are my parents?

"I knew it!" Alex exclaims preppily.

Whoa, this is getting a little scary. I look over at Izzy watching her blond curls bob as she tries to stay awake. Good luck!

"Uhhh...Carol Ann you said you'd stay for a feww more minutes not a few hours." I say looking at my watch. Damn, it's already 11 'o clock. Where tha heck are my parens????

"Wow, 2 hours, time does fly when your having fun!" Carol Ann says getting up off Max's lap. Ewwww "Skank" germs!!

"Or, passes extremely slow when a certain person drones on and on." Michael says. Ahhhh, you have learned well grasshopper.

Carol Ann scoffs, telling "Maxie Poo" to walk her to the door. As they leave the room I watch thier backs, noticing how tight Max's bu-

"Huh?" I ask realizing my parents were calling my name.

"We have to get going, but you can stay if you want." Mom says as Max walks back into the room.

"Uhhh...No, I'll go home too." I say thanking the Evans and hugging everyone except Max. Uh-uh, not gonna touch that, after he smooched Carol Ann. I sooo don't want those germs again!

Walking back home, I can't help but think how eventful tonight really was. Alex was right tonight was interesting, well except for the last 2 hours. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
