Summary: Roswell’s two favorite couples go to Vegas to get married…however what happens when a little mistake causes the couples to marry the wrong spouse.

Prologue:

For everyone at Roswell High it was common knowledge that Liz Parker and Kyle Valenti would eventually get married. The couple had been going out since sophomore year and had actually been engaged for 6 months although only their close family and friends knew of this fact. Liz and Kyle were the perfect couple, the jock and the brain had come together and everyone knew they would be happy together forever.

Their close friends Max Evans and Tess Harding had been dating for 2 years and everyone thought that they would end up getting married too. They were perfect for each other; Max was the quiet brainy guy and Tess brought out his different sides.

Their other friends were also couples but they had only been dating for a few months. Liz’s best friend Maria Deluca had been dating Max’s best friend Michael Guerin for about 5 months which was a lot longer than the school saw the relationship between the crazy girl and the rebel boy lasting.

Alex Whitman, Liz and Maria’s other best friend, had been dating Isabelle Evans Max’s twin sister for about 8 months. When news spread through the school that the Prom Queen was dating the computer geek the students felt that their social system was breaking, but after realizing the world didn’t come to an end and that both people were happy, the student body accepted it and limited the snide remarks to Isabelle’s slumming.

The 8 friends had been close since grade school. Alex, Maria, and Liz had been friends since playgroup when they were 2 years old and throughout school they seemed to just swallow new kids into their group. When the new kid in 1st grade was getting picked on for being the sheriff’s son, Liz, Maria, and Alex quickly accepted him and Kyle balanced out the group. Later, when a quiet boy was always sitting by himself in class and lunch, the foursome slowly but surely moved closer until Michael had no choice but put up with the eager kids. A few months later, Michael’s cousin Tess came to stay with him after her parents died in an accident so, the group naturally took Tess in. Max and Isabelle’s family moved Roswell from Florida at the beginning of 3rd grade and they were quickly accepted into the group sealing the final number at 8.

All through school their friendships grew. If they weren’t at the Crashdown diner, which Liz’s family owned, they could be found at the Evan’s playing in their huge backyard. The parents never worried about them getting into trouble because they were good kids and they balanced each other out.

When the group reached junior high, they stayed close but some new friendships within the group were created. Although Liz loved Maria and Alex, she was often found hanging out with Max. Liz found him intriguing and fun to be around; and Max thought Liz was a really cool girl. Kyle and Tess quickly formed a friendship that would often lead to them sleeping at each other’s homes.

Sophomore year was the starting time for change in the group. That year, Kyle Valenti was voted as the Most Valuable Player for the Roswell Comet’s wrestling team. Kyle was turning into the big man on campus and he needed a girl to keep him grounded. Kyle and Liz soon became the first couple in the group and they were always together. The school thought they were the cutest couple and they all watched as their relationship grew throughout the years.

By junior year, Kyle and Liz were still going strong, and Max and Tess finally admitted their feelings and became the second couple. The group would still hang out together as the 8 of them…the only difference was that 4 people were paired up and tended to kiss and hold hands.

Senior year came and went and Isabelle and Alex finally decided to give it a go and started to date. They weren’t really serious but they did care about each other a lot. Maria and Michael didn’t want to be the only people not dating, so they agreed to at least try an open relationship. Michael put a stop to it when he found out that Maria was going out on a date with Billy Darden and Michael at last asked Maria to be his girlfriend.

During Christmas break of their senior year, Kyle surprised everyone by getting down on one knee in the middle of the Crashdown during their joined families holiday dinner to ask Liz to marry him; which she eagerly accepted. The couple assured their parents they were going to wait awhile before they got married, but Kyle wanted everyone to know that he was Liz’s forever.

Everything was going fine until a week before graduation. Liz was planning on going to Harvard and Kyle was trying to follow her to Boston. They hit a snag when they realized Kyle could only follow her if, they were married. So, Kyle suggested that the group head to Vegas and Liz and he get married at one of the hundreds of chapels in the town. The group quickly packed and booked a flight to the City of Lights for what would end up being a very strange wedding…

Chapter 1

A WEEK EARLIER:


“I can’t go home.” Liz said as she throws herself on her friend’s bed. After having a fight with her parents she could always be found here surrounded by her closest friends.

“Liz, come on they have a point.” Maria said as she walked into the bedroom with a gallon of ice cream and 8 spoons that she retrieved from the Evans‘ kitchen. Mrs. Evans was pretty used to everyone wanting ice cream during their pity parties so she always stashed a stock of ice cream choices in the back of the freezer.

“Maria, I can’t believe you just said that! You’re just like my mother!” Liz exclaimed as she sat up and glared at her friend. Liz couldn’t believe that Maria was sticking up for the people who were always ruining her life.

“Maria, I think we all agree that in some sense that Liz’s parents have a point.” Max said and he held up his hand to signal he wasn’t done when he saw Liz start to speak. “However, as Liz’s closest friends we know her, and we know she wouldn’t make a decision without looking at both sides of the situation.”

When everyone present nodded their heads and agreed that Liz was a perfectionist when it came to decisions Liz finally spoke up to defend herself. “I’m not that bad you guys!”

“Oh yes you are, and I’m the only one here that can justify that claim!” Kyle said as he entered the room. He wasn’t able to make the meeting until now because the coach needed him to stay late. “What is the crisis?”

“We were just discussing how much of a control freak Liz is.” Alex said from his seat at Max’s computer. It still amazed everyone that Alex could be so focused on the computer with his back turned to the conversation and still was able to comment at the appropriate times.

“I am not!” Liz yelled as she threw popcorn at Alex’s head.

“Please, Liz you make lists!” Isabelle added from her spot on her brother’s floor where she was reading through a fashion magazine.

“Remember the one about accepting the Science Club treasurer position?” Tess asked and everyone laughed. “We tried to explain to Liz that since she was already nominated that if she was elected…she really didn’t have a choice.”

“Remember the list she made at the Crashdown about the effects of closing 15 minutes early?” Michael said from the window bench seat. He always came to meetings but stayed by the window listening to Metallica.

“Well I’m not making a list this time.” Liz said as she folded her arms across her chest.

Kyle saw the change in her and quickly come to her side. “Baby, what happened this time?” He asked as he wrapped Liz in his arms and kissed her forehead.

“I explained to my parents about your situation, that you can’t transfer to Boston unless you’re married. They freaked when I told them we wanted to get married sooner. They said we’re too young.” Liz sobbed into her fiancé’s shoulder. She didn’t understand why her parents were acting this way, everyone knew Liz and Kyle loved each other…so what if they wanted to start their lives together a little earlier?

“It’ll be okay Liz, we’ll figure something out. If we have too, we’ll run away and get married. I love you, and I‘ll make this work.” Kyle murmured not really thinking about it; but Liz heard anyway.

“What did you say?” Liz said as she pulled away from Kyle and looked into his eyes.

“I said I love you, and I’ll make this work.” Kyle responded.

“No, no before that…about running away?” Liz asked as she glanced around looking for something.

“I just mentioned that if nothing else worked…we could run away why? Liz?” Kyle asked as Liz jumped from the bed and stole some paper from Max’s binder on his desk. Liz grabbed a pen and started to write.

“I have an idea…its not a well thought of plan, but we have 8 brains here…we should be able to find something.” Liz explained as he looked around to her friends.

“Liz what are you taking about?” Maria asked confused. She could usually understand Liz quite well…but today was difficult, Maria made a mental note to get her some smelling oil to reduce mental blockage.

“Kyle and I are going to run away and get married.” Liz said nonchalantly.

“WHAT?” Kyle asked.

“Well, if our parents won’t let us get married with their permission, we will do it with out it. People do it all the time Kyle.” Liz said with a shrug. “I wanna get married.”

“Liz.” Kyle said as he stood in front of Liz and took her hands in his. “You know I love you, and I’d do anything to be able to be with you…but this isn’t the answer…you don’t want this.”

“You don’t want to get married?” Liz asked shocked…she thought that at least Kyle would be accepting of this idea.

“Hey, of course I do.” Kyle said as he lifted Liz’s chin to make her face him. He brought her left hand up and he kissed the diamond ring on her finger. “See this ring? I didn’t give it to you just because I was bored one day. I love you Liz and I want to get married, but I want it to be what you want to do…you wouldn’t want to get married if your parents weren’t there.”

“All I need is you Kyle.” Liz said and she rolled her eyes when someone cleared their throats. “And my friends of course. If my parents can’t be happy for me, then I don’t want them there on the day that I get married.”

“I can’t believe I am actually saying this but…if we can come up with a plan, that isn’t ILLEGAL, I’ll go with it.” Kyle said as he rubbed his forehead. Discussing secret wedding plans was not on his list to do today.

“Really!!!” Liz said with a sparkling smile.

“Yeah baby, let’s get married!!” Kyle said as he picked Liz up and swung her around.

A few days later the group was hanging out at their regular lunch table discussing their plans.

“So, I found out that you have to be 18 with identification to get a legal marriage license without parental consent in the U.S.” Alex said as he ate his lunch. He had done quite a few Internet searches finding information for his friends. Everyone was helping as much as they could.

“So, we just have to wait until Kyle turns 18. So we can leave in 3 days.” Maria explained.

“No, I want to be here for graduation. Liz has worked so hard to be the Valedictorian I can’t let her give up that chance. We can leave the 2 days after my birthday, a day after grad.” Kyle said. He didn’t want Liz to resent him the rest of their lives if she didn’t get to give her speech.

“I may have a better idea.” Max said as he quickly took a drink of his cherry coke to rinse down his sandwich before he continued. “Why don’t we use the grad night party as out escape cover? Everyone is supposed to go to this party; it’s tradition. We tell the parents we’re going to the party but instead we go to Vegas.”

“Max, you’re a genius!” Liz said with a huge smile. Everything was working out great.

“That’s my baby!” Tess said as she leaned over and kissed Max. “I can’t wait until we get married too.”

“Why don’t you guys.” Kyle asked the other couple.

“What?” Tess asked.

“Yeah, I mean you’ll be there and we’re already getting one couple married…there might be a discount or something! It will be so much fun!” Liz said as she started to get excited about the possibility.

“Tess?” Max said to get her attention. “What do you think?”

“I want to…I mean if you do I do…” Tess said nervously.

“You know I do.” Max said reassuring Tess.

“So…we’re getting married?” Tess asked.

“Yeah…we’re getting married.” Max said with a smile before he leaned over and kissed Tess.

“Yeah!!” Liz said as she got up and hugged Max and Tess; she looked towards the other couples in their group. “Anybody else.”

Alex and Isabelle looked at each other and then shook their heads while blushing. They weren’t ready yet. Michael and Maria both thought about it but decided to wait

“So, its just the four of us then.” Kyle said as he bit into his cheeseburger.

“Hold on, just cuz we aren’t getting married, doesn’t mean we aren’t going. You aren’t leaving us behind while you go off and get married in Vegas.” Alex said and Isabelle quickly agreed.

“We’re going too right Michael?” Maria said as she quickly got Michael’s attention by hitting him on the side of his head. He rubbed his head and mumbled a whatever.

The group all decided since Alex was the only one of them with a credit card, that they would all give him the money for tickets and he would pay the bill on-line before his parents got the bill.

Liz sat nervously in her seat; she was playing with the zipper of her graduation gown. She looked up and searched the crowd as best she could with the light in her eyes. She found Kyle in the last row staring at her. Kyle winked and blew a kiss at her, which caused Liz to blush. Liz continued her search for her friends; one by one they all gave her some form of encouragement when they caught her eyes. Liz found Max last and she still remembered the day they made up their secret language.

FLASHBACK: 6th grade

“Max come on!! We need to think of something!” Liz begged as she pulled Max back on top of her bed. He had fallen on the floor after having a laughing fit.

“Why? I don’t understand why you want to make our own secret language. We have no secrets from each other.” Max explained once he stopped laughing. He had to hold a chuckle in when the memory of Liz’s latest attempt at learning baseball hand signals came to his mind; that’s why she brought on the topic of them having a secret language.

“I know we don’t have any secrets from each other, but what about the others. Do you really want Isabelle to know where you keep all your money in your room Max? I mean what if I wanted to borrow some…and I wanted to know if it was still in the same spot. I can’t just come out and ask you if your stash is still in your Guess Who game box without Isabelle knowing.” Liz explained and she watched as Max’s eyes communicated that he understood.

“Ok, so how about if I want to tell you yes…I blink my right eye.” Max said and he demonstrated.

“Ok, and blinking your left eye TWICE would be a no.” Liz said as she blinked twice with her left eye.

“Ok, and if there is a topic that we don’t want to talk about then…even in secret, we will scrunch our noses twice.” Max said and Liz laughed when he did it.

“Ok, what else?” Liz asked as she tried to think of another saying they could use.

“How about I love you?” Max suggested with a shrug.

“Why would we need a secret code for that?” Liz asked.

“Well, what if we are in a crowded room and I really want you to know right then that I love you. How would I tell you that?” Max asked.

“Well, you have a good point…um…how about this.” Liz said as she lifted her left hand to her mouth; Liz kissed the first two fingers and then placed the fingers on her chest above her heart.

“I like it.” Max said as he repeated the move.

End of Flashback

Liz watched as Max kissed the first two fingers on his left hand and then placed them on his heart; he repeated the move twice. Liz smiled and scrunched her nose up twice tell him she couldn’t respond right now…since she was on stage. Liz smirked when Max laughed at her. Liz was quickly pulled from her secret conversation when the Principal introduced her and she got up to give her speech.

“Good evening. As you just heard, I am Elizabeth “Liz” Parker and I am the class Valedictorian.” Liz said as she then opened the folder that held her speech. She glanced through it quickly and then shut the folder. Liz looked up and made I contact with her friends; she was going to wing it.

“I wrote this amazing speech for tonight. I’ve probably had it for 3 years about the time when I decided that I was going to be the Valedictorian. But now, standing up here tonight, I decided that even though I have a perfectly good speech written already, about looking forward and preparing yourself for the great big world…I’m not going to read it. If you want to read the speech…come see me later, and I’ll let you…its really good, but it’s not what I want to talk about.”

“Tonight I want to talk to you about relationships. They come and go. The last 4 years we have all gone to school together, shared classes, and jokes. We have lost some friends and they will forever be missed, but we’ve also gained some.” Liz said smiling at her group.

“Those friendships can last a life time, if we let them. They can be the ones you read about in the classic novels, of friends forever; the women we will drop everything to come to the side of a friend in need. The men who will leave work to congratulate their friend of his new baby. These are the relationships that I urge you to make and hold on to. New ones will come all through life, but those old ones will always bring back the days of our youth when we are wrinkled and slow. So I hope you all take my words and pledge your lives to your friends.” Liz made eye contact with Kyle as she added, “Till death do us part.” And Kyle mouthed it back before joining the class with cheers and applause.

Liz left the podium and headed back to her seat. She quickly checked her watch to see what time it was. They had another hour until graduation ended, and the groups’ flight was leaving in 2 hours. Liz hoped to be married by morning, it would be legal and her parents couldn’t do anything about it.

Great update...well except the for the Rebel and Loyalist sweetness. Made me want to gag. But since it is necessary for the story, I will shut up and suffer in silence. Liz seems a lot like the Liz in the show with the lists...too funny. And I love that she and Max have their own language. Can't wait for the mix up in Vegas, this story is so good! ~Dani

How did M/L go from I love you's in 6th grade to dating other people????

The I love you in 6th grade was more like friends...they were best friend. It wasn't an attraction love then...but I think it definitely grew to that...hmmm...was that a hint?

I know I wrote the challenge that Max and Liz have to be in love with Kyle and Tess but I'm still going eww everytime the couples showed any feelings for each other lol. Your doing great with this.

You're not the only one but it's a necessary evil. I love the challenge. This is going to be a great story. How sweet they have a secret language! It's going to be hard to wait a full week for chapter 2. I'm really looking forward to reading the next part.

Chapter 2

Max sat back thinking about life as the group flew from Roswell to Vegas. Max looked down at Tess who was sleeping on his shoulder. They were going to get married; although Max loved Tess he did have some reservations about marrying her. They just graduated high school earlier this evening. Max wanted to wait a little bit longer, but he knew Tess wanted to get married so he said ok; after all, marriage is about comprise.

Just as Max started to dose off himself, he heard movement from the chair in front of him; he opened his eyes to see Liz’s face smiling at him as she leaned over the chair. “Hey, you excited?”

“Yeah. I know you are.” Max said and Liz’s smile widened. Max hoped that when Tess and he got to know each other as well as Kyle and Liz did, that they would be as happy as them. “Can I ask you a favor?”

“Sorry, Tess already asked me to be her maid of honor…can’t be the best man too.” Liz joked as Max rolled his eyes. “What’s up?”

“You’re a girl; and you know Tess…and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind helping me with something.” Max tried to explain, he didn’t want Tess to hear them talking.

Liz got the hint and motioned to her engagement ring. Max nodded his head signaling that Liz was right, he wanted help picking out a ring. Liz winked her left eye twice signaling a yes.

Once they got off the plane the group headed towards the Hilton since it was already morning and Kyle and Liz had decided to wait until night to get married. They decided it would be cheaper to get 2 suits, one for the boys and one for the girls than to get 4 separate rooms for the couples.

“Hey Kyle, you mind if I steal your bride before the wedding? I need some help picking a ring for Tess.” Max asked as he stood at the door of Kyle’s room.

“Yeah no problem, hey actually you can help me. Try to get Liz to mention what ring she likes the best, and then tell me so I can get it…I would really appreciate it.” Kyle explained.

“No problem Kyle, trust me Liz will be sure to tell me which one she wants. I’ll relay the choice to you.” Max said as he walked out the room to head towards the girls’ room.

“Hey man, where’s Max going?” Michael asked as Kyle walked into the common room.

“He’s taking Liz out to find a ring for Tess, and in the process he’s going to get Liz’s choice for me.”

“You’re actually going to get married…dude that’s awesome. What time you all planning?” Michael asked once Kyle sat down on the couch.

“Around 5 tonight I guess. Max is going to keep Liz out for a few hours and I’m supposed to pick the chapel and reserve a time.” Kyle said.

“Well once you do that, why don’t the rest of us go out for a celebratory lunch and drinks?” Michael suggested.

“Michael, you do know we are 18. We can’t drink.” Kyle explained. He had a bad feeling about Michael’s plan.

“But they don’t know that…come on lets try to pass for 21, if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work. At least we’ll get a laugh and lunch.”

“I guess.”

“What do you think about this one Liz?” Max said as he held up a beautiful white gold wedding band for Liz’s inspection.

“I like it, don’t think Tess will. She’s more of a yellow gold kind a girl.” Liz explained. She looked through the case quickly and turned to the salesperson. “I’d like to see this one in a 6 please.” Liz pointed out the one she wanted to see.

“Wow, it’s gorgeous Liz…I think Tess will really like it.” Max said as he held the ring. It was a plain band, yellow gold with a small infinity design going around the band. It was perfect for Tess. Max bought it and made a mental note to call Kyle at some time to pick up Liz’s ring. He decided that she liked the white gold band with 5 princess cut diamonds on it, it fit her to a “T”.

“So, why don’t we go get lunch…I don’t think I’ll be able to eat the closer we get to the wedding.” Liz suggested as she checked her watch. It was a little past 1 pm.

“Sure, I’ll meet you at the food court, I’m going to go find a phone and find out what time the wedding is.” Max explained, it was the truth but it was also a way to be able to tell Kyle about the ring.

“How about Chinese?” Liz asked once Max returned from his phone call.

“Sure, Kyle booked the White Chapel for 5:30 tonight. I’m at 6.” Max said. The rest of the group was going out to lunch so Max knew they had some time to spare.

“Great…now lets eat.”

“Sorry, you’re not 21…I can get you a coke…but no alcohol.” The server said as she refused the kids their drink orders.

“Fine…cokes all around.” Michael grumbled. He seriously thought it would work…it’s Vegas!

“Michael!” Maria whispered to get his attention. Once he got it Maria explained her plan. “Lets get them drunk! It’s their wedding day after all!”

“What are you talking about Maria…they just refused to serve us alcohol…you did hear that right?” Michael whispered back. He quickly glanced around and saw that the rest of the group was conversing and no one was paying attention to him and Maria.

“How much cash you got?” Maria asked as she quickly dug through her wallet counting her cash. “I got 300 bucks.”

“I got $250…why? What are you doing Maria?” Michael asked as Maria stole his money and head to the bar. He followed after her and watched her approach the bartender. "Maria!! Thanks my gambling money!!"

“Hi. See the curly blonde over there and the blonde next to her?” Maria asked as she pointed. She continued when the bartender nodded after checking where she was pointing. “They’re getting married today, and I was wondering if I could get you to spike a couple drinks for them…to calm them down?” Maria said as she slid the $550 across the bar. The bartender raised an eyebrow at her but eventually took the money and poured a good deal of vodka in a couple glasses and filled the rest with coke. “Thanks” Maria said as she headed to the table.

“I hope you know what you’re doing Maria.” Michael said as he followed her back with the rest of the non-alcoholic drinks

“Relax Michael.” Maria said as she reached the table. She handed the “special” glasses to Kyle and Tess. “To the brides and grooms of tonight’s weddings. We wish you all the luck in the world!” Everyone lifted their glasses and took a drink

“Eww…I think this coke is bad!” Tess said after tasting it. Kyle agreed and they look around the table.

“Tastes fine to me.” Isabelle commented and Alex agreed.

“Oh well.” Kyle said as he took a big gulp completely unaware of Michael and Maria’s smirks.

Hours later they were all having a good time watching Kyle and Tess fall over everywhere. Maria and Michael explained it as nerves and handed them another drink. Maria guessed the total was about 6 “cokes” so about 32 ounces of vodka each…they were out of it.

“I’m going to go to the bathroom.” Maria said though a yawn as she got up from her chair. Michael stood up also.

“I’ll get us some coffee so we don’t fall asleep during the ceremonies.” Michael said as he headed out following Maria but she stopped him. “What?”

“Someone needs to watch those two; they are our responsibility.” Maria said as she mentioned to Kyle and Tess; who were laughing in hysterics. Kyle had just knocked over his empty glass and started to blow the ice off the table.

“I’ll get Isabelle and Alex to do it.” Michael said as he turned back to the table. Maria watched as Michael approached the other couple and they both shook their heads saying they would watch the drunks.

“Thanks…I don’t know what I would do if something happened to them when they’re like this.” Maria said as they headed out of the bar.

A few minutes later Maria and Michael returned to the table, noticing that Alex and Isabelle were alone. “Where are Kyle and Tess?” Maria asked.

Alex quickly looked around the bar and then back at Isabelle. “Uh…I don’t know, they were just here…maybe they went to the bathroom?”

“No, I just came back from the bathroom. You were supposed to watch them!” Maria said as she got up on her chair to get a better view of the bar.

“Maybe they will come back?” Isabelle said.

“No, Tess’ purse and Kyle’s jacket are gone. They aren’t coming back now.” Michael said as he stood up from checking under the table for their friends’ belongings. “Why didn’t you watch them!”

“We did, but we got to talking…and forgot...we’re sorry.” Alex said as he rubbed his eyes. He stood up and grabbed his jacket. “Come on, maybe they didn’t get too far.”

“If they don’t show up to the chapel to get married, we will have one pissed off bride and groom waiting for us.” Michael said as they headed out.

“Thanks for coming with me Liz, I really appreciate it.” Max said as he and Liz headed back to his room.

“No problem. Besides now you know what ring to tell Kyle I want.” Liz said with a smirk.

“What are you--- How did you know?” Max asked with a sigh; Kyle was going to kill him.

“Relax Max. I’m happy you did it. If Kyle would have picked the wrong ring…I’d have hated him for eternity.” Liz said jokingly.

They reached the guys room and Max unlocked the door. “I’m just going to go put the ring away, before we find the rest of the gang.”

“No problem, I’m going to go to the restroom.” Liz said as she passed Max and head to the back of the hotel suite.

“What’s this?” Max said as he bent to pick up a piece of paper that was on the ground. Max flipped it over and his mouth dropped to the ground.

Liz saw the bathroom door open and headed towards it. She passed by the guys’ individual rooms to get to the toilet. Once she finished and washed her hands, Liz made her way down the hall. She heard a noise coming from one of the rooms and she slowly pushed the door open more to be able to see what was in the room, what she saw she would never forget.

Max looked up from the piece of paper when he heard Liz enter the common room. He noticed right away that she was as white as a ghost. He didn’t know how he was going to explain this too her. “Liz.”

“They…they’re, Tess…and Kyle” Liz tried to say but she couldn’t form any another words. Her world just crashed and burned. Everything she ever thought was going to happen in her life was just scratched off her list.

“I know.” Max whispered.

“No.” Liz said shaking her head. “They’re together…in Kyle’s room.”

“They’re married.” Max stated as he held out the paper for Liz to see. Her eyes bulged out of her head when she saw the headline of the paper in his hands.

“No.” Liz said as she grabbed the paper. She read through it again, it was a legal marriage license with Tess and Kyle’s names. They were legally married. “It can’t be.”

“Liz.” Max said as he reached a hand out to touch her arm; he flinched when she looked at him and saw the tears in her eyes. “I don’t know what to say.”

“Get me out of here.” Liz said as she threw the paper on the ground and stared at Max pleadingly. “Please just…get me out of here now.”

“Come on.” Max said as he grabbed his key; and headed towards the door following Liz out.

“Man, where are they!” Maria said as she leaned against the hotel lobby wall. It was past 8 p.m. and they couldn’t find Kyle or Tess. They decided to go to the chapel to see if they would show up anyway, and the group was surprised to find out that Max and Liz weren’t there either.

“Maybe they all met up and went to a different chapel.” Isabelle commented. It was unlike her brother to leave her out of a special day, but he might have been nervous.

“I hope so…I just wish we knew where they all are. I’m worried.” Alex said as he held Isabelle’s hand as they entered the elevator to go to the rooms.

“I just can’t believe they would get married, Liz wouldn’t do that with out me there.” Maria stated and Michael pulled her into his arms. He knew she was worried and the only way she knew how to show it was to be jealous and hurt.

“They are going to be fine Maria…I promise.” Michael said as he kissed her forehead before they headed into the girls room to wait, there was nothing else they could do for now.

Across the hall in the boys’ room, Kyle and Tess were starting to wake up from their nap.

Tess opened her eyes and glanced around; she realized right away that she didn’t recognize this room. Tess also noticed she had a pounding headache. “Oh man, my head is killing me!”

“Will you keep it down! I have a headache.” Kyle mumbled from next to her before he dosed back to sleep.

“KYLE!!!” Tess screeched as she realized she wasn’t alone in the bed. She quickly grabbed the sheets to cover herself.

“OUCH!! Not so loud!” Kyle said as he jumped up and grabbed his head. “What is wrong with you!? Didn’t I just say to keep it do--” Kyle started to say until he realized she was covering herself. “Are—are you naked? Why are you naked?”

“I’m not the only one buddy!” Tess said as she pointed to Kyle’s bare chest.

“What the hell happened here?” Kyle said as he looked around the room. He saw Tess’ clothes thrown around with his own. "Did we...we didn't right?"

Tess lifted up the covers to check her body. She was sore, and there was a few blood drops on the sheets. "Um, I think we did."

“Damn, this is bad.” Kyle said as he grabbed a pair of boxers and carefully put them on without Tess seeing anything. Kyle stood up and walked around the room. "What are we going to do?"

"I don't know, but I have to warn you...I don't see any condom wrappers...and I'm not on birth control; there was no reason to be. I'm a virgin...or I was." Tess stated.

"I was too. Liz and I were waiting until our wedding night...tonight! Shit!" Kyle said as he quickly grabbed his pants and checked his cell phone. It was almost 10 pm, there were about 30 missed calls from the gang, except Liz and Max, Kyle shook his head. "We missed the weddings."

"Um, I don't think so...or at least we didn't miss ours." Tess said.

"What are you talking about...it’s 5 hours after our scheduled wedding time and we just woke up together!" Kyle yelled and he quickly regretted it when his head throbbed.

"Kyle, I think...I think we got married." Tess said as she held up her left hand that had a shiny gold wedding band on it. Kyle lifted his own and found its match on his hand.

"I can't believe this...I don't remember anything do you?" Kyle asked. Tess shook her head no and they stood there in silence until she spoke.

"I'm sorry Kyle...but I don't want to be married to you. Maybe we can get it annulled before anyone finds out." Tess suggested and Kyle agreed; they quickly got dressed to head to the nearest courthouse.

"Maybe we should go out looking one last time?" Maria suggested as Michael, Isabelle, Alex and her waited around in the girls’ room.

“Sure, why don’t you two get going, we’ll head out in a minute.” Isabelle suggested.

“Sure, meet you in the lobby?” Michael asked and he and Maria headed towards the door once the other couple agreed. Just as Maria and Michael opened the door Kyle and Tess were leaving the guys room across the hall; holding their marriage license.

“Um, Isabelle? Alex? I think you should come out her right now!” Michael called back into the room without taking his eyes off the pair in front of them. Kyle and Tess guiltily looked at each other and then back at Maria and Michael who were staring at the rings on their hands and the license.

“What is it?” Isabelle asked as she got to the door. She sighed in relief when she saw Kyle and Tess. “Thank goodness you two are ok!! We were worried sick!” She commented and before the pair in front of her could say anything she noticed their rings. “Oh wow!! You guys did get married! Congratulations! Where are your spouses?”

“Isabelle, you better look at this.” Maria said as she handed the license to Isabelle to read.

“What…it’s a legal marriage license so what?” Isabelle said as she started to hand it back.

“Read the names” Michael suggested.

“It says that Tess and Kyle are legally married.” Isabelle said and she quickly re-read it. “WHAT???”

“Isabelle, what’s happening?” Alex said once he got out of the door. He heard Isabelle scream so he knew something was up.

“Kyle and Tess are married!!” Isabelle said as she rolled her eyes when Alex looked for Liz and Max down the hall. “TO EACH OTHER!”

“WOW, time out…you’re married. As in man and wife…how did this happen, what about Max and Liz?” Alex said. He grabbed the license to make sure they weren’t pulling his leg, from his research he could tell this was a legal license, Tess and Kyle were married but to the wrong people.

“We don’t know how this happened, we woke up in bed married.” Kyle explained as he ran a hand through his hair, he really wished no one found this out.

“Wow, so you slept together.” Isabelle commented. She knew this was going to destroy Max and Liz; they had been saving themselves for their spouses.

“Yeah, and before you guys go thinking we planned this…we didn’t. We love Max and Liz…we don’t know how this happened but we’re going to fix this. Just don’t tell them until we get this annulled.” Tess pleaded. She didn't care what it took; Tess was getting married to Max as soon as this marriage was annulled.

“We don’t have a choice, we haven’t seen Max or Liz. We’ve been searching for the four of you. We thought that you all ran off and got married without us. Come to find out two of you did.” Michael said dryly. He knew he was partly responsible for getting them drunk, but he never thought they would get married.

“Michael please…lets not do the whole guilt trip thing…we just want to get this finished. So you haven’t heard from them at all?” Kyle asked, as he wanted the group shake their heads no.

“Last thing I heard was that Liz was out helping Max pick a ring for Tess…and that he was going to tell you her choice.” Maria said. She watched as Kyle hung his head.

“Yeah, he did. I was supposed to pick up the ring after lunch…but apparently Tess and I ran off…this is really bad you guys…we have no idea where they are.” Kyle explained.

“Look, we just added 2 more to the search party. Why don’t you guys go get your quick annulment and get this stupid marriage out of the way so we can all get back to finding the real bride and groom and get you all married ok?” Isabelle said as she snapped into planner mode. She was now the wedding “Nazi”.

Maria and Michael walked around silently trying to think of a way to get this whole mess fixed. Techincally it was their fault for getting Tess and Kyle drunk; they had no idea that they would end up getting married themselves. Maria wanted to get this day over with and hopefully Liz would never know that Kyle married and slept with Tess....and Maria wouldn't lose her best friend.

Isabelle didn't know what to think anymore. She knew that Max had a right to know what happened...but right now they needed to find their friends; then they would worry about what was right and wrong in this situation.

Hmmm, personally I hope that Max and Liz end up in a bed, going at it like rabbits, but that's just me. Nah, I read the challenge and I know where they end up, but I won't say in feedback for those who wanted to remain unspoiled. This chapter was great...no Rebel or Loyalist lovin'. The writing and other content of the chapter was good too. I especially loved the part where they were picking out rings. Liz apparently lives by the motto that diamonds are a girl's best friend. I thought that would be more a Tess thing, but I would have to go with Liz on this one. Can't wait for the next chapter. ~Dani

And here are my wonderful thoughts coming out of my wonderful brain...geez i am full of myself!! Ok so...Tess and Kyle...those idiots...and Michael and Maria they arent much better. Now being drunk is no excuse but DAMN...WTF, they go off and get married! I am really happy that they did but in the process they broke two peoples hearts!! Now Max and Liz..they trust each other so much and really rely on each other opinons and that is awesome, it is an awesome friendship to have. Chapter 3

It had been over an hour since they had left the hotel room. But to Max and Liz it felt like it was days since they walked in on their future spouses together in bed and married. They had nowhere to go, so they had just been walking the streets.

“Liz, what are you going to do?” Max said as they stopped to sit on a bench. They hadn’t talked since Liz asked him to get her out of the hotel. There were no words that could help the situation.

“I don’t know. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this was going to happen.” Liz said as she buried her head in her hands.

“How wild are those dreams Parker?” Max joked trying to get Liz to smile; he smiled when she did. “What you thinking about?”

“Don’t know. Can’t really think you know? What about you?” Liz asked as she turned to Max. She watched as he turned his eyes towards the sky.

“The same. Don’t know what’s going on.” Max said. After a few minutes of silence he added, “Tess was a virgin…until tonight.”

“So was Kyle.” Liz said and she explained once she saw Max’s surprised look. “We were waiting until our wedding night. I know that Kyle is supposed to be the jock that sleeps around…but he’s really a great guy…deep down.”

“We were waiting until the right time. But since we were going to get married tonight…it was going to happen after the wedding…those plans are off huh?” Max said with a chuckle, he couldn’t believe how his whole world had changed in less than a day.

“Yeah, I guess they are.” Liz said as she took off her engagement ring and studied it in her hands. “I wonder why my parents didn’t want us to get married so young…maybe they knew this was going to happen…that he would leave me…that I’m not good enough.”

“Hey.” Max said as he cupped her face. “Don’t ever think that. No one could have known this was going to happen Liz, no one, not your parents, us, hell I don’t even think Kyle and Tess knew this was going to happen. But this wasn’t about you or me. It was never about you not being enough.”

“How can you say that Max, Tess just got married…to someone else. How can you not take that personally?” Liz asked as she stared in Max’s eyes.

“I don’t know Liz, if I’m honest with myself it’s because I never loved Tess enough to marry her.” Max explained. “In fact I love you more than I do Tess.”

“I love you too, Max.” Liz honestly responded.

“Enough to marry me?” Max found himself asking suddenly.

“What?”

“Think about it. I love you; you love me…why don’t we get married. We came here to get married, why don’t we? The Beatles said all you need is love…why can’t love be enough for us?” Max suggested. He didn’t know where this idea came from…but he was going with it.

“Say, I agree, hypothetically…where would we get married?” Liz asked. She knew she wasn’t thinking straight but she didn’t care.

“Right here.” Max said as he motioned behind him. There was a cute little chapel that neither one of them had noticed before. “At the Elvis Chapel.”

Liz debated for a few minutes before answering. “Ok, let’s get married.”

“Glad that’s over with” Kyle said as he folded the annulment papers the judge handed him. He and Tess walked out of the courtroom in uncomfortable silence.

“Kyle…”

“Tess…” They both laughed. “You go first.” Kyle suggested.

“I just wanted to say, that I’m sorry all this happened. This is not how I planned this trip…I just wanted you to know I didn’t try to seduce you…I don’t think; can’t really remember.” Tess said as she tried to remember anything…she only remembered having cokes…that tasted funny. “The cokes!! I think there was alcohol in them!!”

“What? Tess what are you talking about?” Kyle asked her.

“The cokes at the bar, ours were the only ones that tasted funny…I think it tasted like…tequila. We were drunk…someone got us drunk.” Tess stated with fire in her eyes…someone else caused all this, even so…she still didn’t know how she was going to explain this to Max.

“Tess, we tried to get drinks and it didn’t work…how could we have gotten alcohol?” Kyle said and he pondered a minute. “Unless someone specifically asked for it.”

“Maria and Michael were always the ones who got our drinks.” Tess said and she and Kyle headed out to find the couple.

“Hey, you annulled yet?” Michael said with a smirk when Kyle and Tess finally met up with the other two couples for dinner.

“Funny you should ask that Michael, because Tess and I got to talking and we think we know how this all happened.” Kyle explained

“Really? How?” Isabelle asked eagerly, she didn’t want her brother’s heart to be broken.

“We think our drinks were spiked with tequila.” Tess accused as she sent a look in Maria and Michaels direction; and she watched the couple’s faces go pale. “You two always got our drinks; notice anything…peculiar?”

“No, our drinks were fine.” Maria stated as she looked away.

“We didn’t ask about your drinks…we asked about ours. What did you do to them?” Kyle asked.

“We paid the bartender to spike them.” Michael confessed and everyone’s eyes turned to him and Maria.

“How could you do that Michael? Didn’t you know they were going to get drunk?” Isabelle said. She didn’t understand what was going through the couples mind…they may have ruined her brother and Liz’s lives forever.

“Look, we wanted to calm you two down…it was your wedding day! We didn’t want you two to be nervous…so we paid the bartender to spike the drinks…we honestly didn’t realize this was going to happen. We never left you…except for once and we asked Alex and Isabelle to watch you.” Maria explained.

“Oh, don’t go blaming this on us! We weren’t the ones getting our friends drunk! How were we to know they couldn’t be left alone?” Alex stated; he didn’t feel guilty at all now that Maria and Michael confessed.

“She wasn’t blaming anybody…she was just explaining that we didn’t intend for it to get this far…honestly.” Michael added. “I am really sorry you guys…we both are.”

“I don’t think an apology is going to fix all this…we still don’t know where Liz and Max are…they haven’t left any messages or picked up the ones we have left for them. Both their cells are in their rooms.” Kyle said as he racked his brain to find his friends.

“Look, why don’t we just keep looking…we leave in 2 days…let’s hope they show up at the hotel or at least at the airport since they know when our flight is.” Tess commented. She turned back and warned Michael and Maria. “This is not over for the two of you. “I, Elizabeth Claudia Parker, take you, Maxwell Zander Evans, as my husband.” Liz said as she repeated after the Elvis imposter who was performing the ceremony. Liz was getting married to Max, one of her best friends…and she didn’t know why.

“I, Maxwell Zander Evans, take you, Elizabeth Claudia Parker, as my wife.” Max repeated after Elvis prompted him to do so. Max couldn’t take his eyes off Liz, he knew he shouldn’t be doing this…but he couldn’t think of a plausible reason not to.

“Well, I now pronounce you husband and his old lady, I hope to never see you in the heartbreak hotel baby!” Elvis said as he shook his big belly around. “You may now kiss your bride.”

Max took a deep breath to prepare himself for this. Not only was this Max and Liz’s first kiss as man and wife…but as a couple, and friends. As Max leaned down to kiss his new bride, he was not expecting the instantaneous spark when their lips touched.

Liz was shocked when Max kissed her. All the kisses she shared with Kyle didn’t even compare to this one. She sighed and Max took advantage of this and lightly slipped his tongue into her mouth. This was heaven, Liz thought.

Max pulled away but he couldn’t let go so he leaned his forehead against Liz’s. “Wow.”

“Yeah. Let’s go my husband.” Liz said as she pulled away and slipped her arm through Max’s.

“Anywhere you have in mind my wife?” Max asked as she lifted Liz’s hand to his mouth and kissed it. He smirked when she blushed. He knew this should feel awkward, but it felt as natural as breathing to him…Liz was perfect for him.

“Well we can’t go back to the rooms…I kind of want you to myself.” Liz said as she blushed. She really wanted to spend some time with Max…but the fact that they were sharing rooms with their friends was not so appealing.

“That’s good, cuz I want you to myself too.” Max said as he stopped and pulled Liz into his arms. He leaned down and kissed her again.

“Yeah?” Liz asked once they pulled apart.

“Definitely.” Max said before he kissed her again. “Why don’t we see if we can get the honeymoon suite? I have a credit card in my pocket.”

“Sounds good to me.” Liz said as they headed back to the Hilton hand in hand.


“Max!! Put me down you big goof!!” Liz screamed as Max quickly picked her up and carried her over the suite’s threshold once the bellhop opened the door for them.

“Sorry tradition.” Max laughed and kissed Liz’s cheek before placing her back on her feet.

“Wow…this room is beautiful Max.” Liz said as she looked around the huge suite. It was decorated in pinks and reds to be romantic and it had a secluded feel to it. Liz glanced towards the bathtub in the middle of the room and made a mental note to use it before they left.

“Not as beautiful as you are Liz.” Max said as he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Are you sure we can afford this? This looks really expensive.” Liz said as she leaned back and looked up at Max. She didn’t want him to spend all this on her.

“I’m sure. Don’t worry about it, just enjoy our mini-honeymoon.” Max said before placing sweet kisses on her neck to prove his point.

“Um, I suggest you check out the balcony, the view is quite amazing.” The bellhop said as he watched the young couple. They blushed when they realized he was still in the room.

“Go ahead.” Max said when Liz looked up at him pleadingly. “I’ll just get rid of James here and meet you out there.”

“Ok.” Liz said as she leaned up and kissed Max before heading outside.

“Sorry about that…we sort of forgot where we were.” Max explained as he handed the man a $10 bill.

“Don’t worry about it. Happens a lot.” James said as he pocketed the money. “I hope this isn’t too forward of me too say sir, but she seems like she is really something.”

“I agree with you there James…I agree with you there.” Max said as he led the man out before going back to his wife.

TBC....ok I think this chapter sucked...but the next one will be better...i believe there is some Dreamer lovin'...I mean if that sort of thing interests you all Let me know what you think!!

First just let me say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with channeling yourself in Liz's place...you ain't the only one out there doing it. Now that that's out of the way, great chapter and it so didn't suck. How could you even think that? You must have been sniffing some glue or something today before you posted, so I will forgive you for ever saying something like that.

I'm so happy that Max and Liz decided to get married. And it's good to know they are both feeling that spark with each other. I'll admit, it was kinda sudden when Max just realized that he didn't love Tess enough to marry her, but when you know, you know I guess. And as long as he winds up with Liz, in bed, doing the nasty then I couldn't care less how they decided not to be with Kyle or Tess. I'm really looking forward to next week. What can I say, I'm a smut addict and I don't wanna stop.

I just found your story and I'm totally diggin it. I haven't read the challenge cause I don't want to ruin it for myself but I think I can say with all certainty that you're doing an excellent job with the challenge even if I haven't read it. I can't wait for more of Max and Liz's honeymoon. I think they're really cute together. Even though, Maria and Michael were wrong and basically the cause of the whole situation, I don't really fault them because I want Max and Liz together.

Absolutely love the challenge and im excited to see you turn out these chapters!

I rarely leave feedback as of lately, but i thought i needed to in this case.

YAY, they are married.. and wow double YAY with they spark the felt when they kissed. Although i am surprised that they even kissed at all, regardless of tradition .. that was their first kiss like ever. So to say that im happy they felt something is an understatement.. But then again.. i mean hello! Its Max and Liz!

I too would like to read about the wild honeymoon nookie that I hope will come in the next chapter. Kyle and Tess being drunk as they were there is still no excuse for them to go and get married plus consumating afterward, but glad that it happen. I'm just a diehard dreamer and doing somersaults right about now that Max and Liz did get married. I feel you have something good plan for those two, don't you? Like having the others find them in the act of doing the nasty, clearly sober and enjoying every damn second.

Ok...so here is my attempt at the nookie, smutty stuff...so yeah! I've never thought I was good at it...but I'm proud of this chapter!! Its one of my favs!! Enjoy!!


Chapter 4

“Hey…did you tip James well?” Liz asked when she heard Max come outside on the balcony. He walked up and wrapped his arms around her waist while he placed sweet kisses on the side of her neck.

“Yeah, actually he gave me some good advice.” Max responded as he laid his chin on Liz’s shoulder. The view was really beautiful, and it was even more beautiful with Liz.

“Really? What did he tell you?” Liz asked. She didn’t understand how they got here together, but Liz never doubted it or wished she were anywhere else than in Max’s arms right now.

“He told me you were something special…and you are Liz.” Max said from Liz’s shoulder. She turned her head and kissed him passionately.

Liz wanted much more so she turned in his arms so that they were facing each other and she put her arms on his shoulders while Max wrapped one arm around her waist securing her to his body while the other held the back of her neck to keep her from breaking their kiss.

“Liz.” Max said as he pulled away and stared her in the eyes. No words needed to be spoken because they both knew what the other wanted. Max slowly backed off allowing some space between them just in case Liz changed her mind but she quickly followed him and held him close as they walked back into their room.

Max sat down on the bed and Liz sat down next to him. They sat staring at each other in silence until they both looked away; this was new territory for both of them…especially with each other. Although they had appeared calm and prepared neither of them were calm or prepared.

“So.” Liz said as she sat there uncomfortable. This was Max, her best friend. Besides getting married…nothing had changed.

“Yeah, so.” Max said as he turned to study Liz. She was so beautiful…why hadn’t he ever noticed before? “Liz, it’s ok…we don’t need to do anything; that’s not why I married you.”

“I know.” Liz said as she caressed his cheek. “But I want to. Make love to me Max.” Liz said as she stared Max in the face. Max blinked back a few tears before he leaned over and kissed her.

When Max pulled away Liz looked up at him and realized that she was laying back on the bed with Max on top of her; she smiled at him and pulled him down again. Max’s hands started to caress Liz’s body and she threaded her hands through his hair.

“Max, I need you.” Liz said as she pulled Max’s shirt collar over his head; he sat up and lifted his shirt off completely finishing the job. Max threw his shirt over his shoulder and he straightened his arms and leaned over Liz’s body as she ran her hands over his sculpted chest paying special attention to his nipples; she smirked when he groaned.

Liz stilled her hands and dropped them to her stomach while Max watched her every move. Liz started to slowly undo the buttons on her shirt one by one until she reached the last one. “You do it.” Liz asked Max and he nervously undid the button revealing her chest. Liz reached in and undid the front clasp of her bra and exposed herself completely to Max.

“You’re perfect Liz.” Max said before he leaned down and kissed his wife’s chest for the first time and caused her to arch into him. After he kissed and massaged both her breasts equally Max made his way down Liz’s body.

Liz moaned as Max kissed her navel and she laughed when he thrust his tongue into it. “Sorry, tickled.” Liz explained when Max looked up at her.

“Good to know.” Max said before he repeated the move. He was glad he was learning the intimate details about Liz’s body. Although they were best friends…there were some things even the closest friends didn’t know. Max moved down 2 inches on Liz’s stomach but had to stop because the tops of her jeans were in the way; he looked up and was met by Liz’s loving eyes. Max smiled back before he undid Liz’s jeans and started to remove them. “Lift your hips baby.”

Liz watched as Max slowly pulled her jeans off her hips and down her legs. He stopped at her feet to remove her shoes and socks before he pulled her jeans completely off and threw them with his forgotten shirt. Liz waited for Max to return to her body but instead he stood up off the bed. “What? Where are you going?”

“Relax, just taking my shoes and socks off too.” Max responded and he did as he said. Once he was done he crawled back towards Liz. “You didn’t think I’d be able to leave you here in your underwear did you?”

“Max, I just want…can we go slow?” Liz asked biting her lower lip. She was a nervous wreck…what if she wasn’t good; what if she hurt so badly that they couldn’t continue…Max stopped her thoughts with a kiss.

“Liz, I promise you that I will go slow…but again we don’t have to do anything…we can stop.” Max asked as he ran his hands up and down her arms to comfort her. Max knew she was nervous because she only bit her lip when she was nervous.

“I thought you just said you wouldn’t be able to leave me in my underwear?” Liz smirked as she leaned up and kissed Max.

“Right, I said that didn’t I. Well I can…but I don’t want to.” Max said seriously.

“Neither do I.” Liz said as she reached down between them and undid Max’s pants. She wrapped her legs around his waist and his eyes widened when she used her feet to pull his pants down. “Now we are evenly clothed.”

Max looked down and realized that the only things separating them were their underwear. Max kissed Liz gently before he slide down her body again and started to slip her underwear down her slim hips. When he removed them Max gasped at Liz’s fully naked body before him; she was a goddess. He couldn’t resist tasting her so he leaned in a gently kissed her lower lips.

“Max.” Liz breathed as she felt him spread her lips with his tongue and taste her. She bowed of the bed with his caresses and Max just moaned lustfully every time because she would force her hips to his face. After a few strokes and circles of her clit, Max knew she was nearing her climax so he entered a finger and she reached her peak. When she caught her breath and opened her eyes Max was laying next to her with a smirk on his face and he ran his fingers on her flat stomach. “Hi.”

“Hey, was that your first?” Max asked referring to the recent climax he caused her to have. When she nodded he leaned in and kissed her softly. “Good, glad you liked it.”

Liz tasted herself on Max and smiled; just the thought that he tasted like her made her very proud and possessive of him. “Max, take your boxers off.” Max watched her face for a second before he kneeled on the bed and removed his boxers. Liz watched as his manhood stood proud before her. “Wow.”

“Um…thanks.” Max didn’t know what to say to that. What was an appropriate response? He moved so that he was laying next to Liz on his side facing her. “You ready?”

“Yeah. I think so.” Liz said as she pulled Max on to her body and she gasped when she felt his erection press into her hip.

“Sorry.” Max didn’t want to embarrass Liz, so he shifted so that didn’t press into her anymore; he leaned down and kissed her. Soon she spread her legs wider and he nestled naturally in between them with his member positioned at her core. “Do I need to use something?”

Liz smiled; she loved that even through the sexual fog Max still made sure to cover all their bases, after all they had never been down this road before. “No, I went on the pill 3 weeks ago.”

Max nodded pushing away the person she intended that for and he slowly entered her when he reached her barrier he kissed her to silence her cry. “Sorry.”

“It’s ok.” Liz said as Max wiped away a tear that had fallen down her cheek. After a few minutes for her to adjust Liz told Max to start moving again slowly and he did. They soon found a rhythm that they both seemed comfortable with.

“Liz, wow…you…feel…so…good.” Max said out of breath as he rocked into her. Liz gasped in pleasure as she reached her second climax in her life with Max.

"AHHHH...MAX!!" Liz cried out and Max slowed his pace to let her recover. As soon as she started to move her hips again; Max picked up the pace, thrusting into her warm body harder and harder.

“Don’t…stop.” Liz panted as she felt a third coming on.

“Liz…ahhhh.” Max said as he leaned down and bit her shoulder to muffle his cry as he filled her with his seed. Liz soon followed him and cried his name.

“I can’t believe this…it’s been 2 days and we can’t find them!” Tess cried as she sat on the couch in the girls’ suite. The group had looked for Liz and Max for almost 2 days with no word, no sign that they were alive.

“Um, guys? I can safely say that they are alive.” Maria said as she came back from the bedroom area.

“What? Did you find something?” Kyle asked as he perked up at the thought of a note from Liz.

“More like I found nothing. I went to the bathroom and on my way back I glanced in Liz’s room and noticed that all her stuff is gone…suitcase, clothes, everything.” Maria explained to the group.

“What? Why would she come and pick up her stuff but not say anything?” Isabelle asked bewildered, that was really not like Liz at all.

“Hold on.” Michael said getting up and they all waited as he went across the hall to the guys’ suite. “Max’s stuff is gone also.”

“So, they’re obviously together. That’s a good thing right?” Alex said as he looked around the group with worried eyes.

“I honestly don’t know anymore.” Tess said as she ran her hands through her hair. “It’s after 10 p.m. we should get our tickets.”

“Yeah, lets go to the lobby and print them off the Internet.” Kyle said as the group headed down stairs.

“Ok, so we are printing out 8 tickets back to Roswell.” Alex said as he logged on to the airline webpage.

“Wait…it says 6…they already picked up their tickets.” Isabelle explained when she noticed only 6 people’s tickets were on the list. “Maybe they switched them for earlier flights.”

“Anybody know either of their social security numbers?” Michael asked as he looked at Tess and Kyle.

“No.” Both answered and then looked at Isabelle.

“What? Just because he’s my brother doesn’t been I know his social…come on guys…they are alive, maybe they weren’t feeling good or they got a call and headed home. We know they are at least safe and trying to get back home, let’s just enjoy our last night here.” Isabelle suggested and the group agreed before heading out for a night of fun.

Great, Max and Liz cemented their marriage lovingly I might say. Their lovemaking is sweet and tender, everything that should be for their first time. Loved how shy they are but still communicating well. I think it helps being best friends.

The other 6 is going crazy with worry, especially Kyle and Tess. Of course they didn't know that Max and Liz stumbled upon them during their drunken marriage night. Max and Liz are both control freak and planners. At such a time, still they were able to pack their things and plan for their return tickets back to Roswell.

Chapter 5
“Come on! Dance with me!” Tess said she tried to pull Kyle out of his chair. They all went to a club to try to enjoy their weekend as much as possible.

“I don’t feel like dancing. You shouldn’t either.” Kyle commented as he turned back towards the table.

“What? Why not?” Tess said as she sat down next to Kyle. She glanced back towards the dance floor to see their friends all having fun dancing to the music.

“How could you ask that? Liz and Max are missing; am I the only one who cares?” Kyle yelled as he hit his fist on the table.

“You didn’t seem to care that much when we got married.” Tess said quietly.

“Don’t. Even. Start.” Kyle said through his teeth. He was so angry he couldn’t even see straight. He didn't understand how everyone could be out having fun when his fiance was out there and they didn't know where she was.

“Sorry.” Tess sighed. “Look, I’m worried too. I love Max…but they obviously don’t want to be with us right now…so let’s just enjoy the time we have with our friends before we get home and are grilled by our parents.”

Kyle thought about it for a few minutes before he reluctantly stood up and put his hand out to take Tess’. “Fine. Let’s dance.”

“This is nice.” Liz said as she sighed and leaned back against Max’s chest.

“I know. I hope it’s always this good.” Max said as he grabbed the sponge and gently cleaned Liz’s skin. They had decided to use the bath tub and they were both enjoying the new experience.

“Me too.” Liz said as she turned and kissed her husband.

“I got you something.” Max said as he turned around and grabbed something from behind him. “I think this one will fit you better.”

“Max. I can’t believe you did this!” Liz said as she stared at her new wedding ring, the same one that she had picked a day ago. “When did you do this?”

“Earlier tonight. You’d be amazed what you can get from room service.” Max said as he slid off Liz’s cheap yellow ring that the Elvis Chapel provided and replaced it with Liz’s ring.

“It’s beautiful thank you.” Liz said as she kissed him again. She lay back against him and he intertwined their fingers. “But now we don’t match.”

Max looked at his own ring that matched the original cheap yellow one and smiled. “That’s why I got this.” He pulled out a replica of Liz’s ring sans diamonds and started to slide his old one off.

“Don’t. Let me.” Liz said as she took his hand and removed the old ring and replaced it with the new one. “Perfect…we are an exact fit.”

After a few minutes of silence and loving kisses. Max realized that Liz was starting to drift off to sleep. “Liz?”

“Hm?” Liz asked and she opened her eyes to look at Max.

“What’s going to happen to us?” Max asked and he hated how self-conscious he sounded.

“What do you mean?” Liz asked.

“When we get back home, when we see Tess or Kyle. Where do we stand.” Max said as he played with Liz’s hand. She was so small compared to him and he always felt like he needed to hold her and guard her with his life.

“I don’t understand. We’re married Max.” Liz stated which shocked Max.

“You’d still want to be married?” Max asked surprised. He really thought this was a one time weekend event. He was waiting for the ball to drop and for them to get divorced.

“Of course.” Liz said turning in his arms to face him. “Look, I don’t know what’s going on. With Kyle and Tess…or anybody. At first, I think we just clung to each other, because it felt right at the time. But I do know that I love you…and I want to make this work.”

“So do I Liz, I just wanted to make sure. Like you said I have no idea why this happened…but I’m glad it did.” Max said as he kissed Liz softly.

“Max.” Liz groaned when he pulled away and she rested her head back against his chest.

“I know. I know Liz...”Max said as he started to place kisses against Liz’s neck. Liz didn’t want to be teased anymore and turned around to straddle his waist. “Hi.”

“Hi.” Liz said against Max’s lips. She decided that kissing Max was her obsession. She just couldn’t get enough and she was fine with that.

“You are so beautiful.” Max said as he pulled his lips down Liz’s neck and caressed her body with his hands.

“Max.” Liz moaned as she lifted her self up and back down on Max’s member. She started a slow pace and they soon sped up.

“Liz, yes…right there.” Max moaned as he pulled Liz closer to his body.

“MMMM…MAX.” Liz yelled as she reached her peak, which caused Max to follow after her.

“I love you.” Max said as he lifted Liz out of the water after he gained some strength back. He carried her back to their bed and laid her down.

“Max…” Liz said as she drifted off to sleep. Max smirked when she sleepily held out her arms for him and he quickly laid down with his head on her chest and they slept peacefully.

“Come on guys! We got to get going or we’re going to miss our plane!” Isabelle yelled as she banged on the guy’s doors trying to get everybody ready. The girls naturally were already up and doing last minute packing while the guys over slept.

“Isabelle…let us sleep. We don’t need an hour to get ready like you do.” Kyle mumbled as he pulled his pillow over his head.

“Funny, actually we need to leave in 20 minutes…so you guys seriously need to get ready now.” Isabelle said as she walked up and pulled the covers off of Kyle’s bed and then went to the other rooms to do the same.

“Wow…you guys look terrible.” Maria commented from the hall when the guys struggled out of the room dragging their bags behind them.

“Shut up.” Michael said groggily as he walked towards the elevator.

“Hey. You didn’t hear from them did you?” Kyle asked Tess as she passed by him.

“No…sorry Kyle. Not a word.” Tess said sadly. She really felt bad for Kyle…he loved Liz so much and it was clearly killing him that she was nowhere to be found. Tess was worried about Max, but honestly she was more worried about her…when she and Kyle slept together they didn’t use protection and Tess was scared she was going to get pregnant. How would she explain that to Max?

“Max…Max.” Liz called to him. She smiled when he grunted on her chest and fell back to sleep. “Hey…you got to get up.”

“Five more minutes mom…I’ll skip first period.” Max mumbled.

“Ok…one I’m definitely not your mother…and two…we aren’t in high school anymore.” Liz said and she giggled when Max’s facial hair tickled her neck as he moved.

“Liz?” Max asked when he opened his eyes and saw Liz before him…she looked breathtaking.

“Were you expecting someone else? Like say another wife?” Liz joked as she ran her hand through Max’s hair.

“No…no other wife. You’re the only one I want.” Max said as he leaned up and kissed her.

“Good. Because you’re the only one I want too.” Liz replied and kissed him again. When they pulled away she sighed. “As much as I’d love to continue this, we have to get going.”

“We don’t have to. We can stay another day; another week; we don’t have to leave at all!” Max said as he smirked at her.

“As much as I’d love to do that…we need to face the music. We need to tell everyone.” Liz said as she moved Max off her and got out of bed.

“Right. Great. That should be interesting.” Max sighed as he fell back against the pillows. Liz sat back down and caressed his cheek.

“Hey, as long as we have each other…we’ll be fine. You were the one who said all we need is love right?”

“Right.” Max said as he stared into his wife’s eyes. He’d do whatever he could to make this marriage work.

“Good. Now I’m going to take a shower.” Liz said as she got up and walked towards the bathroom. She stopped at the door and turned to see Max watching her every move. “Care to join me?”

Liz laughed when Max jumped from the bed and darted towards her. He reached her and swung her over his shoulder carrying her into the bathroom.

“Now boarding flight 509 to Roswell New Mexico. Once again boarding flight 509 to Roswell, New Mexico.” The flight announcer said over the speaker system.

“Well, let’s get going.” Maria said as she stood up and grabbed her carry-on luggage. They had waited as long as possible for their friends and it looked like they weren’t coming.

“Guess you’re right.” Alex said as the group got up and headed towards the gate. They all stopped when they heard a familiar giggle from behind them.

“Liz!” Maria said once she turned and saw her friends walking towards them.

“Hey Maria.” Liz said as she released Max’s hand and hugged her friend. When she released Maria she instantly returned to Max’s side.

“Where have you been! We looked everywhere for you!” Kyle said once he got over the shock and pushed his way forward and grabbed Liz.

“Kyle. I’ve been with Max…it’s fine.” Liz said coldly as she pushed against Kyle and backed away into Max’s arms. She got an instant reminder of walking in on Kyle and Tess in bed together and she just couldn’t be next to him.

“What do you mean you’ve been with Max? Where have you been?” Tess said. She had tried to get to Max but he kept backing up and avoiding her eyes.

“We were together in the honeymoon suite.” Max said calmly as he wrapped his arms around Liz’s waist.

“What? Why did you stay in the honeymoon suite?” Alex asked confused. Max and Liz were close friends but they couldn’t seem to stop touching and staring at each other…they actually looked like two people completely in love.

“Last call for flight 509 to Roswell, New Mexico. Last boarding call for flight 509 Roswell New Mexico.”

“Well, we were in the honeymoon suite because we decided to spend our honeymoon there.” Liz said as Max pulled her left hand up and kissed the ring on it.

“We got married.” Max announced as he led his wife to the boarding gate.

“Did they just say they got married? To each other?” Alex said as he tried to understand what was going on.

“Man…there must be something in the water here.” Isabelle said as she headed towards the gate. Everyone else followed except Kyle and Tess.

“I can’t believe this is happening.” Kyle said as he tried to not vomit. The love of his life just announced she had married his best friend.

“You don’t think they know we got married do you?” Tess said as she rubbed her hands together. She was trying not to cry; although she knows she would have to explain to Max what happened with her and Kyle, it hurt so bad to see Max and Liz together.

“I don’t know. If they did, it’s not like either of them to get back at us…” Kyle said as he rubbed his forehead.

“Come on, we don’t want to miss our flight.” Tess said as they headed to their gate.

The group had tried to talk to Max and Liz about what was going on, but the newly married couple told them to drop it until they landed…they didn’t want the whole plane to know what was going on.

“Do you think they really got married?” Isabelle leaned over the aisle and asked Maria. Both girls looked ahead of them and saw Max and Liz snuggling and giggling together.

“Don’t know…maybe.” Maria said as she watched Max lean down and kiss Liz passionately, too passionately for friends pretending. “Something definitely happened though.”

“I agree with you there.”

Hello ALL!! Just wanted to warn you that I will be posting again but the end of the weekend because I want to catch this story and First Daughter up with Communications so enjoy!!

Also, I know I've said this already, but this is not the end of the friends reactions...or the parents for that much. This is only the beginning.

I've been waiting all week for their ex's and friends to find out and let me tell ya you pulled it off great. I do feel sorry for Kyle and Tess yes they married each other but they were drunk and in all fairness that did go to Vegas to get married that just married the wrong person lol.

I was glad to see Max and Liz didn't fall apart seeing their ex's.

Can't wait to really see their friends reactions once they learn that Max and Liz are really married.

You know, I actually felt kind of sorry for Kyle and Tess. I know that they're the ones that got drunk, married, and slept together, but not without some help from Maria and Michael. But still, to have your fiances come and announce that they're married in front of everyone with no warning, it just made me feel a little bad for them. But I guess that's how Liz and Max felt when they walked in on them together. Ok, I guess everyone can go ahead and roast me for feeling sympathy for Kyle and Tess. I give you permission because I sort of feel like blasting myself on that one.

I just have to say that I love Max and Liz though. But I can totally see how their friends would be shocked at their sudden turnabout. Look forward to more reactions. I bet the parents are gonna piss their pants when they find out.

First of all, I was LMFAO. Those two parts were hilarious. Secondly, even though it seems that Kyle genuinely loves Liz and regrets what has happened between he and Tess, I still can't feel sorry for them. I know they were inebriated when they married but they weren't too drunk to make it to the chapel and get married as well as head back to their room to consummate their marriage. I just feel that on some level, despite being drunk, they knew perfectly well what they were doing. And I'm glad they did because Max and Liz are too cute together and deserve to be together.

Anyway, loved the update and I can't wait for more. Also, you are so for leaving it there .

That was a great update! I've been waiting for the confrontation. Loved how Max and Liz just gave them the bare facts and asked for it to be dropped until they get home. I can't feel too sorry for Kyle or Tess because we all know that Max & Liz belong together. I think there was more to their relationship all along, but it was buried under the best friend relationship. That, sometimes, keeps you from realizing the extent of your feelings for a person. I've got to wonder how the parents are going to take the news. Can't wait for more.

Chapter 6


“What do you mean you got married?” Maria asked as soon as they stepped out of the gate. She wanted to know what really happened between her two best friends.

“Exactly what we said. We got married Maria, do you want to see the papers?” Liz said. She knew she was being mean…but she didn't want to deal with this.

“Liz. Baby, they are only trying to understand.” Max said as he gently squeezed Liz's hand. He knew she was frustrated…but their friends weren't the only ones they would need to deal with.

“Sorry.” Liz said and Max quickly dropped their bags he was holding to give her a hug when he heard her cry.

“It's ok Liz…I'm here for you. I'll never leave you.” Max promised as he kissed his wife's head.

“Like you left Tess?” Kyle asked suddenly. He was quiet the whole flight because he tried to not vomit every time he saw Max kiss Liz. He felt like his heart was breaking in two every time Liz looked at Max with love in her eyes…she was supposed to do that to him.

“Kyle.” Alex scolded him. He knew where Kyle was coming from, but they were standing in the middle of the airport.

“No, don't 'Kyle' me! We looked everywhere for them and they were off getting married. Liz is my fiancée!” Kyle yelled and he ran a hand through his hair.

“Was.” Liz whispered and when she looked up and saw everybody looking at her confused she continued. “I was your fiancée Kyle. I'm not anymore. I'm Max's wife.”

“Liz…how could you do this to me?” Kyle asked as Liz and Max started to walk away but Liz stopped and turned to him. “I love you.”

“No, I loved you Kyle.” Liz said and she glanced at Max and saw all his support before she continued. “But you didn't love me. If you did…you wouldn't have married Tess.” And all their friends gasped as Max and Liz walked away hand in hand.

“They know? How did they know? I thought no one talked to them!” Tess screeched as she turned and looked at her friends for the answers.

“No one heard from them…honest.” Isabelle said as she watched Tess break down and cry. If Isabelle was honest with herself, she would say that she has never seen her brother or Liz as happy as they are now…but she still didn't understand how this could have happened.

“I don't care what the hell is going on…but I'm getting my fiancée back.” Kyle said before he headed off trying to figure out a plan to break up the happy couple.

“I have a feeling this is going to get a lot worse, before it gets any better.” Michael said as he pushed his hand through his hair.

“Should we tell Max and Liz what really happened?” Maria asked her boyfriend.

“I don’t know.” Michael sighed. “I personally have never seen Max that happy before.”

“Liz either.” Maria commented.

“Do you wanna be the one who ruins your best friends’ happiness?” Michael asked and Maria shrugged.

“We gotta do something…they deserve to know the truth.”

“I can't believe you were so stupid Liz!” Jeff Parker said as he paced in front of his daughter. He couldn’t believe that after telling his daughter that she couldn't get married before she went off to college, that she went to Vegas and got married…to different man!

“Jeff!” Nancy scolded her husband. She was just as furious with Liz for doing this…but Liz seemed happy and there was no way out of the marriage.

“Daddy, I know you’re disappointed in me--” Liz tried to say but her father interrupted her.

“Disappointed? Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover how I feel right now.” Jeff said as he glared at Max. “Max, your dad's a lawyer right? He can fix this situation.”

“Um…yes sir, my dad is a lawyer but I don't know how he can fix anything.” Max said. He knew the parents would react badly…but Mr. Parker was throwing daggers at Max.

“He can annul the marriage. You two were drinking that night and you didn't know what you were doing. The fact that Liz is engaged to another guy is evidence that you didn't plan this!” Jeff said. He didn't want Liz to stay married and regret it for the rest of her life; he was only trying to protect her.

“Daddy, we weren't drinking and we don't want to get an annulment. We want to stay married.” Liz explained and she knew it was going to get bad when her father turned quickly and stared at her. Liz had never understood the phrase steam coming out of someone's ears but she did now.

“Elizabeth Parker you will not destroy your life by staying married to this guy. You weren't even engaged!!” Jeff said as he stared at his only child. He knew she was angry at him for telling her she couldn't marry Kyle right away…but for her to go off and marry Max was not like her at all.

“Ok…first off it’s Parker-Evans now and secondly, Max isn't any guy, he's my husband and we are going to stay married. If you can't accept that, then I don't want you in our lives!” Liz said as she ran up stairs to her bedroom.

“Max, I'm so sorry. I know you didn't plan this…I'm trying my best to get her to end this mockery of a marriage…you're dating the blonde right? Tess?” Jeff asked once Liz left the room.

“Yes sir, I was dating Tess, but I'm married to Liz now…and we want to make this work.” Max explained and he continued before Jeff could yell again. “You have to understand, Liz is my best friend. I would do anything for her and I want to make her happy by being the best husband I can be to her.”

“Max, you're only 18 years old. You don't even know anything about the world. How can you sit here and promise to make Liz happy?” Nancy finally said. She wanted to make Liz happy and from what she could see her daughter was happy with Max. But she also didn't want them to go into a marriage blindly, it was a huge decision that they made at the flip of a coin.

Max thought about it for a few minutes before he answered. “Because I love Liz. We may not know anything about the world, but we are going to do our best to learn together.”

“Max, you're ruining your lives.” Jeff said as he looked at the young man who married his daughter. “If you two really love each other then end this and start dating for a few years…after college start your lives together…you don't need to do it now.”

“Daddy.” Liz said once she re-entered the room. “What I said before…about you not being happy for us…I meant it. If you can't support my decision to stay married to my husband, then I don't want you in my life.” Liz took a deep breath. “What do you say? Can you accept my marriage?”

“I'm sorry Liz…I can't. I think it is a mistake.” Jeff said as he stared at his little girl. How did this happen? One day she was bouncing on his knee…and now she was married and standing up for her husband.

“Then this is good-bye.” Liz said as she walked over and hugged her mother. “I love you Mom.” Liz then turned to her father; she made no move to hug him. “I just want you to know that I do love you daddy…but I'm sorry that you're forcing me to do this.”

“Liz?” Max asked as he watched her pick up a couple suitcases from the bottom of the stairs.

“Let’s go Max…I'm moving out.” Liz said as she walked towards the door. Her father’s voice stopped her.

“I'm sorry Liz…I'm sorry.” Jeff said. He was sorry he couldn't accept this…he loved Liz too much to watch her do this.

“I am too.” Liz said as she turned towards her husband. “Ready?”

Max just stared between Jeff and Liz and then grabbed a suitcase and the couple headed to his jeep. Once they put her bags in her car Max grabbed Liz and pulled her into a hug. “I am so sorry Liz…I don't want to come between you and your parents…maybe we should end this.”

“Do you want to end it?” Liz asked Max hurt.

“Honestly, no…but maybe your dad's right. We can start over…date and get to know each other.” Max suggested. He wanted to stay married to Liz…but if Liz was fighting with her parents and he wanted her to be happy…he knew the only way that would happen is if they ended it. He still wanted to date Liz though…now that he'd been with Liz, he couldn't imagine being without her.

“Max, I already know you. And you’re not coming between my parents and me…my dad did that all by himself.” Liz assured Max and when he nodded she leaned up and kissed him. “So…do I go get a hotel room…or do we try your parents and see if they will let me stay there?”

“Let’s try my parents first. They might not understand…but they will help us if we tell them we are serious about making this work.” Max said as he caressed Liz's cheek. “And if they don't agree…we’ll already be at the house to pick my stuff up and then we can go to the hotel together.”

“Sounds good.” Liz said as she was about to get in the jeep when Max pulled her back into his arms and kissed her breathless.

“This is forever for me Liz.” Max said once he pulled away from her lips. “I just wanted you to know that. No matter what happens…I'm here to stay.”

“Me too Max.” Liz shook her head and corrected herself. “We're here to stay…forever.” The couple got into the jeep without noticing the couple watching them from the window.

“Do you think we did the right thing Jeff?” Nancy asked her husband. She had to admit that watching the way that Max took care of Liz was really convincing…she could easily tell that Max loved her daughter. Nancy was happy for Liz…she may not agree but she would support her daughter, now she just had to get her husband to support her as well.

“Nancy…she's 18 years old…it’s not that I don't like Max, or that they don't love each other…it’s just why does it have to be now? Can't they wait until after college? She's worked so hard to get to Harvard…I'm scared she will blow it all for him.” Jeff explained. He looked around their home and his eyes caught a picture of Liz. She was 5 years old and dressed in her mothers wedding veil. “I didn't even get to give her away Nan…my baby got married and I wasn't even there.”

“Oh Jeff.” Nancy said as she grabbed her husband and held him as he cried for his lost daughter.

“Are you two sure about this?” Philip said as he looked at his son and his new bride. “Because if you want this marriage to have never happened we need to act now…if we don’t, it will have to be a divorce.”

Max looked at Liz before answering his father and when Liz nodded her head he spoke. “We’re sure about this dad. We want to stay married and make this work.”

“Ok…I just want you to be sure. I am disappointed and although I don’t agree with your choice…you’re 18 and it’s your choice, I am supporting you on that.” Philip said as he handed back his son’s legal marriage license.

“Thank you Dad. Thank you.” Max said as he stood up and shook his fathers hand and then turned to his wife. “We did it Baby!” Max said before he kissed his wife.

“And about the living situation Max? Is it correct to assume that Liz no longer lives at home?” Diane asked the young couple. She always liked Tess…but she knew it was Liz who had her son’s heart.

“That’s right. My parents…they aren’t as accepting as you.” Liz explained and Max wrapped his arms around her and kissed her temple.

“We were hoping that we can live here…temporarily until we get a budget together and then find a place that we can afford close to school.” Max explained he hoped his parents would approve…but having their support was enough for him. They only needed a place to stay until they moved to Boston for school since they both were going to Harvard. They had actually planned on living in the dorms for a few semesters and eventually getting an apartment together, but now that they were married they would have to live off campus.

“I think we need to talk about this…can you excuse us for a few minutes” Diane said as she and her husband went to their office to discuss the decision.

“What do you think Phil?” Diane asked. She would give her opinion, but it the end it was her husband’s decision.

“I don’t want to lose my son Diane.” Philip said as he ran a hand through his hair. “As much as I hate that he was immature and went off to get married…he is showing the maturity he needs by asking us, and even preparing for the future by making a budget.”

“I agree with you. But do we want them to live together?” Diane asked…she really didn’t want her son to be sexually active at 18.

“Honey…they got married on Friday, and from what I’ve heard…they spent most of Saturday and Sunday in the honeymoon suite…I think it’s a little late to protect their virtue.” Philip chuckled. “They are married and are going to do what married people do…we can’t stop them.”

“Ok…but we are taking in an extra mouth…make them pay rent?” Diane suggested. They didn’t want the couple to feel like they were getting away with murder…besides it would help them to budget the fact that they would have to pay rent.

“I agree…200 a month?” Philip suggested.

“Sounds good.”

After Diane and Philip explained their decision to Max and Liz the couple quickly agreed since paying $200 dollars a month would be a lot cheaper then spending $49.99 a night at a hotel. After they talked Liz and Max went to their new room.

“I still can’t believe this.” Liz said as she started to unpack. She was lucky, Max had a huge closest and he didn’t even use that much space with his clothes so she had plenty of room for her stuff.

“I know…it still feels like a dream.” Max said as he leaned on his elbow on his bed. He loved watching her move…it was even more special since they were in his room. It wasn’t like she had never been in his room before…but now they were married and she was his forever.

“Yeah.” Liz said as she hung up her last shirt and then threw her suitcases in the closet before closing the door. She turned and watched Max laying on his bed. Although they had been intimate before…this was new territory living together. “So…”

“Are you nervous?” Max chuckled and when Liz blushed he called her to him. He sat up and pulled Liz so she was standing in-between his legs. “It’s just us Liz. Just you and me.”

“Ok.” Liz said as she leaned down and kissed Max’s lips. As soon as she felt his lips on hers she wrapped her hands around his neck to pull him closer.

Max moaned when he felt Liz’s tongue touch his lips and he eagerly opened for her exploration. He wanted more, so he wrapped his arms around Liz and placed his hands on her butt pulling her closer. That’s exactly how Isabelle found them when she walked in with out knocking a few minutes later

“Max, I just wanted to at-- OH GOSH!! SORRY!! I DIDN’T KNOW YOU WEREN’T ALONE!” Isabelle said as she quickly turned around and covered her eyes.

“It’s ok Izzy.” Liz said as she wiped her mouth and stepped away from Max.

Max frowned when she stepped away and he quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her to sit in his lap. “What’s up Iz?”

“I just wanted to talk to you…but it can wait until Liz leaves.” Isabelle said as she headed to the door but she stopped when Max responded.

“Well you’ll be waiting awhile because she isn’t leaving.” Max stated and he kissed Liz’s nose to assure her that he was happy about that.

“What? What do you mean she isn’t leaving?” Isabelle asked confused. She just walked in on her brother and his “wife” who just told him that she wasn’t leaving.

“Well, Isabelle I live here now.” Liz explained and she decided to let Max and Isabelle handle this so she made her way to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

“Are you crazy Max? I know you have this delusion to play house…but Mom and Dad are going to freak when they find out!” Isabelle exclaimed once Liz left the room.

“It’s fine. Mom and Dad know and are ok with this as long as we pay rent.” Max explained and he waited for his sister’s question that he knew was coming.

“Max…how did this all happen? I mean one minute you’re planning on marrying Tess and the next you’re married to Liz…what happened to cause this?” Isabelle asked as she sat down next to her brother. Her friends and her had sat down and tried to find any reason they could…but they came up empty handed and they voted that since Isabelle lived with Max that she would be the one to get the information and then share it.

“Look…I really don’t want to get into this…but Liz and I decided we wanted to be together…so we got married. End of story. Now we are trying to make our lives work.” Max explained as he started to turn down the bed to get ready for Liz.

“What about Liz’s parents? What do they think about all this?” Isabelle asked. She knew they didn’t approve of Liz marrying Kyle at such a young age…but at least they knew about that…this was a complete shock.

“As you can obviously guess, they weren’t happy and Liz moved out. We came here and explained our plans to Mom and Dad. They agreed to let us live here for a while until we find a place of our own as long as we help out and pay rent.” Max explained and he looked up when he saw Liz standing at the doorway. “Hey.”

“Hey, I hope I’m not interrupting.” Liz said shyly as she glanced between the siblings.

“Not at all, this is your house too.” Max said with a smile as he held his hand out for Liz to take. She quickly crossed the room and into his arms. “If you don’t mind Isabelle, my beautiful wife and I are going to turn in…so I’ll talk to you in the morning ok?”

“Yeah sure. Night Max.” Isabelle said as she headed towards the door. She stopped and turned around. “Night Liz. Welcome to the family.”

“Thanks Isabelle. Night.” Liz said and she smiled at her sister-in-law. Although she probably didn’t understand or approve…Liz knew that Isabelle was accepting their marriage and Liz couldn’t have been happier.

“Well, my beautiful wife…I’m beat…you ready for bed?” Max said as he raised his eyebrows suggestively at Liz and she chuckled.

“Max…do you ever get enough?” Liz laughed as she got into the bed and under the covers. She held back a laugh when she saw Max’s hurt expression.

“Well…I don’t…I mean…” Max began stuttering and Liz started to laugh. “You were messing with me weren’t you?”

“Of course.” Liz said as she sat up and pulled off her nightshirt. “Now get over here and make love to your wife.”

“Gladly!” Max said as he dove at Liz which caused her to giggle and they both put their fingers to their mouths signaling them to be quiet…they’d have to learn to be quiet now that they were living with Max’s parents and sister.

Hours later Liz woke up startled that she wasn’t in her room, but she quickly remembered the events of the last couple days and she smiled as she snuggled closer to Max who was spooned behind her. They had quietly made love for hours and finally passed out. Liz was exhausted and the only reason she was awake right now was because she was thirsty. After glancing around Max’s room to see if he had a glass of water somewhere Liz carefully slid out of bed. Max mumbled and grunted when she moved but Liz just ran a soothing hand through his hair and kissed his forehead causing him to calm down, she grabbed Max’s boxers and white t-shirt off the ground and put them on before she headed down stairs.

Liz sat down at the kitchen table with her glass of water for a few minutes before a shuffling sound informed Liz of someone else’s presence and she looked towards the kitchen door.

“Liz sweetie? What are you doing up?” Diane asked as she entered the kitchen and found the young girl sitting alone, she glanced at the clock. “It’s 3:30 in the morning, is everything ok?”

“Yeah, everything is fine. I was just thirsty and couldn’t sleep.” Liz explained and Diane nodded before she sat down across from her at the table.

“I remember the first few nights after Philip and I got married. I couldn’t sleep…no, I wouldn’t sleep. I was so scared I’d wake up and he wouldn’t be there, that it was all a dream.” Diane explained as she thought back to all those years ago. “It’s hard, sleeping next to someone. Your whole life you had this huge bed all to yourself, and then one day there is another person sleeping there, who is used to having the bed all to themselves. You have to get used to their sleeping patterns. I remember lying awake at night…just listening to Philip breathing and wishing that I had a bed to myself, funny thing is that the nights that he was out of town and I had my own bed…I couldn't sleep without him”

“I’m not worried about that. Max is a gentle sleeper. He rarely moves and he doesn’t snore.” Liz explained and she blushed as she realized that she was talking to her mother-in-law about sleeping with her son.

“It’s ok Liz. I know that you and Max used to sleep together…innocently.” Diane explained and she continued when she saw Liz blush. “I always knew that of all Max’s friends, you two were the closest. It was almost like every night we ate dinner with you because everything Max talked about was you.” Diane said which caused her and Liz to laugh.


Meanwhile upstairs.


Max stirred in his sleep and woke up then he frowned when he realized Liz wasn’t beside him. Max sat up and looked around the room, after finding she wasn’t there he got up to go look for her. Max looked on the ground and realized that Liz stole his boxers so he went to his dresser and pulled out a pair of pajama bottoms sans shirt.

Max quietly walked across the hall and saw that the bathroom was empty so he headed down stairs. As he walked down the hall towards the kitchen he heard his mother and his wife laughing and he decided to see what they were talking about, so Max quietly stood next to the door and listened to the women’s conversation.

“Not that I’m not grateful or anything…because if it wasn’t for you and Mr. Evans…I’d be sleeping in a hotel right now…but why are you ok with this? With our marriage? Most mothers would hate me for stealing their son from them.” Liz asked. She really did want to know…most importantly she wanted to know why it was ok for Max…but not for her. She wanted to know why her parents couldn’t accept her marriage like the Evans did.

“Well, to be honest. I do feel like you stole my son away.” Diane explained and she felt bad when Liz hung her head. Diane reached across the table and lifted the girl’s face and saw the tears. “But I don’t hate you. I could never hate you Liz, and even if I don’t agree with yours and Max’s decision…it’s your decision and I’m going to let you two make it. I’d rather accept your decision and be apart of your lives so that I can guide you along your way than never get to see you two grow into the amazing adults I know you two will become.”

“Thank you…I don’t regret getting married for a second…I just wish my parents felt like you.” Liz said as she wiped away her tears.

''Liz, you have to understand. With you it’s different…you're a girl. If Isabelle pulled the stunt that you and Max did…I honestly don't know how Philip would have reacted. Your dad loves you…and he's trying to protect you. Dads treasure the moment that they get to walk their daughters down the aisle…you essentially robbed him of that…in time your parents will approve.” Diane assured the girl.

“I hope so, I really wanted to share this with them…Max is lucky that he has such caring parents…we both are.” Liz said as she smiled at her mother-in-law. Liz always saw Diane as a second mother because she was so close to Max and Liz was happy that it was actually true now.

“Liz, do you want to know why I'm happy that it was you that Max married?” Diane asked and she continued when Liz's head jumped up and she nodded. “Because it was you.”

“I don't understand…” Liz said as she shook her head.

“I remember the first day Max met you. He came home and said he had found new friends. He described all of you and then while he was leaving he turned back to me and said that he found his soul mate, or as Max called it back in the 3rd grade his “dream girl” and that he was going to marry her. He never told me her name…but after meeting you all the next week, and watching you two grow closer…I knew it was you. When Max started to date Tess I was a little upset because I knew she would never mean to him what you do…I always knew it was going to be you Liz…so when you two showed up last night and said you got married…I was jumping for joy that my son married his dream girl…what more could a mother ask for?” Diane explained and she smiled when Liz wiped away her tears.

“Thanks Mrs. Evans.” Liz said once she found her voice. She was so moved by the love and acceptance that she found in Max's family.

“None of that. It’s Diane dear…you are Mrs. Evans now.” Diane said and Liz's whole face brightened. “Now, I'm going to go back to bed with my husband, I suggest you do the same.”

“I will, thanks again Diane…for everything.” Liz said.

“Just love him Liz…and all will be even.” Diane said as she exited the kitchen and ran straight into her son. “Max…what are you doing up?” Diane whispered as she glanced back to make sure Liz didn't hear them.

“I couldn't sleep after Liz left…so I went to find her.” Max whispered.

“You listened didn't you?” Diane asked and she smirked when Max hung his head and nodded. “Well, I suggest you get back up to bed before your wife realizes you were ever missing.”

A few minutes later Liz crept silently back into her bedroom. She sighed when she saw Max still sleeping exactly how she left him. She slid into bed and she smiled when Max's arms automatically curled around her waist. She looked up into his face and placed a kiss on his forehead. “You're my dream guy Max.” She whispered before she laid her head under his chin and fell asleep. Liz never saw Max open his eyes at her confession or the huge smile he wore as he fell back to sleep with his wife in his arms.

TBC...ok so I really loved that chapter...I really did, but now I want to know how you felt about it?

Awwww *sigh*. That was so beautiful. I absolutely loved this chapter. I'm so happy that at least Max's parents were more understanding than Liz's. And the talk between Liz and Diane made my eyes mist a little but the clincher was when Liz called Max her dream guy, I couldn't stop the down pour.

I thought it was wonderful. It's too bad that the Parkers took the news so badly, but the Evans have come through for them. Like it or not, they love Max & Liz enough to support and help them. I'm sure Kyle & Tess are going to be stirring up a bunch of mess. Especially Kyle. He's feeling like the wronged fiancee. Wait until he finds out that Max & Liz stumbled onto he and Tess having "married sex". Somehow, I don't think that will leave him with a whole lot of bitching room. I'm so glad that Diane has seen the fact that Max & Liz belong together all along. Can't wait to read more!

I'm glad you liked Diane. On the show I always thought she would be supportive...just the way she looked at Liz in Blood brothers...just touched my heart...sigh!!

I loved that chapter too. The whole Diane/Liz conversation was very sweet, and of course Max and Liz were adorable together as usual. The only really sad thing to me was how Liz's parents couldn't, or I should say wouldn't, accept her marriage. I can understand it's a shock to them and Jeff is sad because he was robbed of walking her down the aisle, but instead of losing that one moment in time, he's now lost his daughter completely because of his inability to be happy for her. And I'll never for the life of me figure out why it is that some parents seem to think that you can't be married and go to college at the same time. I know it makes it harder, and it doesn't always work out, but marriage is not some disease that keeps you from being able to do things. I really hope that Jeff and Nancy come around because it looks like Max is here to stay.

I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. I'm anxious to see when Michael and Maria tell them their part in the whole fiasco, and to see what exactly Kyle thinks he's gonna do to tear them apart.

How do I feel? Vindicated! Thank goodness Diane and Phillip had the knowledge that making Liz and Max feel guilty about what they had done would have only pushed them away. I just wish Jeff and Nancy would come around.

Let me tell you I decided to read this fic today, because I recently started reading your other fic, FDS! Man, was I glad I did, this fic is fantastic I felt so bad for Liz and Max when they discovered Kyle and Tess married and having consummated. But then I'm realizing Max always harbored deep feelings for Liz, and the feeling is obviously mutual. They did an impulsive thing back in Vegas, but they are willing to make it work.

I completely understood and expected Liz's parents reactions, after all she is their only daughter. Poor Jeff is feeling really badly he was not there to give away his only baby girl. That is a very special and significant moment between a father and daughter. Maybe in the future, Liz and Max can renew their vows, and Jeff will finally get that chance if only he and Nancy will come around and try to accept this is Liz's choice and she is an adult now. Be there for her, through both the good and bad times...

Loved how realistic the Evans were being and having them pay rent was very smart. Plus a whole lot affordable then paying a Hotel. Diane's heart to heart talk with Liz brought tears to my eyes, mom's always know who has captured their son's hearts. I am glad she love and accepts Liz. She had always known Tess wasn't the one.

That was an absolutely amazing chapter - I adore it!

Especially the last scene with Diane telling Liz that she is Max' dream girl and Liz confessing to a supposedly sleeping Max that he's her dream guy - simply fantastic!

I'm also glad that at least Max' parents have accepted their decision and are helping them. While on can understand that Liz' dad might not be thrilled about the marriage, he really has nothing won by his attitude, but lost contact with his daughter. I hope he'll come around in time.
From Kyle's proclamation that he'll get his fiance back I gather that there are a few more confrontations coming and I'm already curious...

Once again, you've managed to put me on cloud nine. Keep doing that because I loved being up here. Jeff's reaction was expected. It's always harder for a father to loose a daughter than a son especially if she's the only child he had. But I have faith that he'll come round. I do think Max and Liz owe their parent a ceremony/reception. Maybe by the time Jeff have cooled down, they can make some arrangements.

Frankly I'm not that worried about Kyle. My only concern is after they know the truth behind Kyle and Tess' impromptu wedding and sex, the insecurities will surface. Max and Liz will have to have a heart to heart conversation to overcome the insecurities. They both know they love each other but there's always the lingering doubt that they only got married because of the betrayal of the fiancees. They are still in the best friend love mode and aren't aware that it's actually 'really in love' thing.

It's so nice to see Michael and Maria realising that Max and Liz are actually happy and wanted to stay together. But I agree, they do have to tell them the truth. Isabel certainly made Liz happy by welcoming her into their family. Diane and Phillip's reaction was so accepting and they did the right thing by asking Max and Liz to pay rent. The conversation between Diane and Liz was a nice touch. Hearing that they are each others' dream boy/girl is like a reassurance to them.

You have done a wonderful job again. See I'm rambling away like Maria, lol. See you before Monday, ok?

That chapter was sooo great and long!!! I loved it! Max and Liz are so sweet together. I can completly understand why Jeff couldn't accept their marriage. After all, Liz is his only daughter and I know my dad would also be disappointed if he missed out on walking me down the isle. The ending was so sweet. Loved the last chapter, to hear Diane and Phillip standing by Liz and Max, i was disappointed that Jeff and Nancy wasn't going to stand by them but Liz is their daughter so they are bound to be upset.

Chapter 7

Liz started to wake up when she felt something between her legs tickling her. She smiled at the sensation but kept her eyes closed trying to keep a hold of the dream.

“Oh no you don’t.” She heard the deep voice say into her ear. “Sweetie, you have to get up.”

“Don’t wanna.” Liz said softly and she smiled when Max chuckled and started to place kisses on her neck without stopping the teasing with his finger.

“Come on…you need to wake up.” Liz heard him say as his kisses moved down her neck. “Liz…”

“Nope…I’m sleeping.” Liz smiled and she gasped as a hand brushed against the side of her breast.

“You awake yet?” Max asked from underneath the covers and he kissed Liz’s stomach as she squirmed from beneath him.

“Still sleeping.” Liz said with a smile and she forgot to breathe when Max placed a kiss below her belly button. “Oh…”

“I have an idea.” Max whispered as he settled between Liz’s thighs and placed a kiss high on each one. “It should wake you right up.”

“Max, what?” Liz asked as she opened her mouth in a silent scream when Max finally pulled down the boxers she was wearing and placed his mouth on her core causing her eyes to blast open.

“You taste so good baby.” Max said as he pulled away and licked his lips of Liz’s essence. He hadn’t done this since their wedding night and to be honest, he’d been dying to do it again. Max glanced up and watched as Liz’s eyes opened and she stared at him, begging him to continue his sweet torture on her senses; Max wasn’t one to disappoint.

“Max…uh.” Liz moaned as he licked her slit over and over. She couldn’t believe how amazing Max was with his tongue, his hands…everything. She couldn’t believe that she would be able to feel him against her body forever. “Oh…my…g…”

“MMMM.” Max stuck his tongue as deep into her body as he could go, trying to coax out as much of her sweet juices as possible and he felt her walls tighten around his tongue and he quickly pushed two of his fingers inside of Liz and moved his mouth to her clit. He knew she was close so he pumped his fingers inside of her and gently used his teeth on her clit.

“YES!! AHH--” Liz screamed out as she climaxed and she quickly placed one fist in her mouth and bit down while covering her mouth with the other hand.

Max continued to lap up her juices as they flowed from her body; making sure he didn’t miss a single drop. He placed one more kiss on her stomach as he moved up her body and he smirked down at her. “So, did it work? You awake yet?”

All Liz could do was nod as she tried to get her breathing back to normal. Once she calmed down Liz reached up and pulled Max down to her; giving him a sweet kiss. “Wow.”

“I’d say.” Max said with a chuckle and he kissed Liz again. “Good morning.”

“Morning.” Liz responded as she ran her hands through Max’s hair. “Just to let you know…I wouldn’t object to waking up like that everyday.”

“Got it.” Max smirked and kissed Liz as he drew her into his arms and flipped them over so she was straddling his waist. “So what are we doing today?”

“Well I’d like to stay in and return a certain favor to you.” Liz said as she rocked against Max’s waist causing him to groan to which she smirked. “But realistically…I was thinking we could go look for an apartment.”

“What? Why?” Max asked stunned. He was confused because they had just gotten back and moved into his parents’ house. She didn’t want to live here? “Why do you want to move out? Do you not like it here? I mean…is it Isabelle? Did she upset you last night?”

“No!” Liz said as she shook her head profusely. “Isabelle is fine, your parents are fine…everything is fine. It’s just that I thought we could get an early start and look at a few apartments. I know we aren’t moving out now…but this way we would see what to expect with the budget we have and be prepared for anything.”

“My little planner.” Max said as he ran his hands up and down Liz’s arms and she smiled at him. “Fine. That sounds like a great plan.”

“Yeah?” Liz asked as she leaned down and started to place kisses on Max’s face.

“Yes.” Max groaned as Liz nibbled on his earlobe. He placed his hands on her face and pulled her until their lips met hungrily. “Liz…”

“Hmm?” Liz asked against his mouth. She wanted to continue what Max had started earlier but Max stopped her when she started to kiss down his neck. “What?”

“We can’t.” Max said and when Liz looked at him slightly hurt he cursed himself. “My parents and Isabelle are up…they could easily hear us.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right.” Liz pouted and she lay down next to Max. “We should probably go and say hi.”

“Probably.” Max said as he turned and looked at the clock. “Why don’t you go and get some breakfast while I take a shower.”

“Sounds good.” Liz said as she leaned over and kissed Max before she got up and pulled on Max’s boxers and tee shirt and went down stairs to check on breakfast.

Max shook his head when Liz walked out of the room. She was driving him crazy…every time she took a breath his heart skipped a beat. He knew what they were doing was crazy…they shouldn’t be this happy. He also knew that his feelings were growing for Liz…from friendship to romance. He sighed as he got up and pulled on a pair of boxers before he headed across the hall to take a cold shower.

Liz walked down the stairs into the kitchen and she saw her new mother-in-law cooking. She had a mother-in-law; the thought brought a smile to her face and she walked into the kitchen.

“Morning.” Liz said as she walked into the kitchen and Diane turned to her with a big smile.

“Hi sweetie!” Diane said as she walked over and hugged Liz before she placed a kiss on each of her cheeks. “Did you sleep well? Since our talk?”

“Yeah I did thank you.” Liz said and she watched as Diane stared at her for a second before nodding and continuing to make breakfast.

“I was thinking this morning about Max’s bed…it’s rather small.” Diane said as she stirred the waffle batter. “It probably isn’t big enough for two people…maybe we should go and buy a bigger one; you two couldn’t have been comfortable sleeping on top of each other all night.”

“No…it’s fine Mrs. Ev—Diane; the bed is fine.” Liz said and she could feel her cheeks burning up. She admitted to herself that the bed was small…but Max and Liz definitely didn’t mind being forced to sleep close to each other.

“Ok dear…but if you need anything, just let me know. Max’s room isn’t very welcoming to girls.” Diane added. “Dark colors and hard fabrics…don’t really say ‘make yourself at home’…so if you wanted to decorate it; I’d be more than happy to help you.”

“Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind when I talk to Max about it.” Liz said and Diane nodded. “So, do you need any help with breakfast?”

“No, I have it pretty much covered, but thanks sweetie.” Diane said as she poured the batter into the waffle maker and closed it. “Do you two newlyweds have plans for the day?”

“Actually…” Liz said and she couldn’t help but blush at being called a newlywed. “We are going to look at apartments today. So that we get an idea of what’s in our price range for when we do move out.”

“I’m glad you’re getting started early…not that I’m pressuring you to move out right away, it’s just that I find it very promising that you’re budgeting already.” Diane said and Liz smiled.

“Thank you. I feel it’s important to have a plan!” Liz said with a huge smile. She was so proud that an adult thought she was well prepared.

“You should see her try to make a decision.” Isabelle said as she walked into the room. “I bet she will have a 3 page list when it comes time to actually rent an apartment.”

“Morning sweetie.” Diane said and she moved to greet her daughter just as she had greeted Liz. “You sleep well?”

“More or less…” Isabelle said as she glanced at Liz which made Liz think that Isabelle heard them making love all night…which bugged her more than she would have liked. “So what are we talking about?”

“Well, I was just about to ask Liz if she wanted a real wedding.” Diane mentioned and Liz quickly dropped the newspaper she was reading and stared at Diane.

“What?” Liz asked shocked…Diane didn’t just ask what she thought she did, right?

“Well I was thinking.” Diane said as she wiped her hands on the dish towel and turned to Liz. “I know that it would mean so much to me…if I was able to be at Max’s wedding and this way, you get to have your dream wedding too.”

“I don’t know what to say.” Liz said still in complete shock.

“I also think that this will help out with your parents.” Diane added and she continued when Liz looked confused. “I think that it would mean a lot to your parents as well…if they were apart of your wedding…at least this one.”

“Thank you. But we couldn’t afford a real wedding.” Liz said sadly. She loved the idea of a traditional wedding…none of this Vegas stuff, but they were high school graduates still trying to build a budget.

“I talked to Philip and we both agree that we would be happy to pay for the wedding, as a sort of wedding present.” Diane said and she was taken by completely surprise when Liz squealed and launched herself into Diane’s arms. “Is that a yes?”

“Yes!! Of course!” Liz said as she pulled away with a huge smile on her face. “Thank you so much!!”

“Wow…Mom, that’s a great idea.” Isabelle said sincerely. She knew that she hadn’t been as supportive of her brother and her friend’s choices…but last night she decided that she was going to do anything she could to help out. “Liz, if you want I can help you plan it, you know I’m good with that sort of thing.”

“Isabelle!!” Liz said as she pulled her friend into her arms and whispered into her ear. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” Isabelle responded and she turned to help her mother with breakfast.

“So, why don’t you go and tell your husband it’s time for breakfast and then we can start talking about the wedding plans.” Diane said and she laughed at how quickly Liz ran up the stairs into their room. “You did a nice thing Isabelle.”

“You think?” Isabelle asked as she poured a couple glasses of milk and set them on the table.

“Yes I do.” Diane said as she placed the waffles on the table. “I know it’s hard to understand, but Max and Liz need as much support as they can get…and you just made Liz’s day by offering to help her.”

“Max?” Liz asked excitedly as she walked into their room. She wanted to tell him about the wedding and even the bed. She was so excited that his parents were being so supportive of them. She looked around the room and just as she was walking into the walk-in closet she heard the bedroom door close. “Hey!”

“Hey baby, what’s up?” Max asked as he walked into the room after his shower wearing just his towel around his waist.

“You’re never going to guess what your mom just told me.” Liz said as she walked over and kissed Max gently before she pulled him to sit on the bed with her.

“What did she say?” Max asked with a smile as he ran his fingers through Liz’s hair. “That woman is crazy…so I’m a little concerned.”

“Max she isn’t crazy, she’s your mother.” Liz scolded and she chuckled when Max rolled his eyes. “Anyway, she said that she talked to your dad and they want to give us a real wedding!”

“Seriously?” Max asked shocked. He expected his parents to throw a party…not give them a traditional wedding. “Do you want to do it?”

“Yea…I mean, our wedding was beautiful…but I’d rather have my wedding in a church surrounded by our family and friends.” Liz said excitedly as she thought about a real wedding, with a real dress, flowers, and a beautiful cake with little statues of her and Max on the top.

“Well…ok then. If you want to do it…we do it.” Max said with a smile as he caressed Liz’s cheek; he couldn’t deny her anything. “When do you want to get married again?”

“MAX!!” Liz said as she jumped into Max’s lap and started to kiss his face which caused them to fall back onto the bed laughing. “I can’t believe it!! We’re getting married…AGAIN!!”

“Liz, if it would make you happy…I’d marry you a thousand times.” Max said sincerely as he looked up into Liz’s eyes and pushed her hair out of her face.

Liz smiled down at her husband and best friend. She had been thinking about it a lot and she decided that marrying her best friend was proving to be the best decision of her life. Liz smirked when she got an idea in her head and she grabbed Max’s hands and held them above his head.

“Uh, Liz?” Max asked concerned when Liz pinned his arms above his head but he relaxed when she leaned down and kissed him gently. “What’s going on?”

“Well, besides offering to pay for a wedding, you mother offered to buy us a new bed.” Liz said and she watched Max’s eyes cloud with confusion.

“A new bed? What’s wrong with my bed?” Max asked as he looked around as best he could from his position. It was just a bed. He admitted it wasn’t brand new, but it wasn’t old either.

“Your mom seems to think that your bed is too small for us…that we would be uncomfortable sleeping on top of each other.” Liz said in a teasing manner and she gasped in excited surprise when Max quickly flipped them over. “Oh…”

“So, mom doesn’t think we like to sleep on top of each other huh?” Max asked as he placed each of Liz’s arms above her head and settled his body over hers gently grinding his hips into Liz causing them both to moan. “Liz.”

“I know…” Liz said as she started to place kisses on Max’s bare chest. She knew they shouldn’t do this now…but she needed him and she couldn’t deny that knowing Max needed her just as much caused her to want him more. Neither of them knew it was coming until Max was thrown from Liz’s body and he hit the floor before something jumped on top of him. “MAX!!”

“GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF HER!!” Kyle yelled as he jumped on Max and started to punch him.

“Kyle!! Leave him alone!!” Liz yelled as she jumped up and ran to her husband’s aid. She tried to pull Kyle off of Max but he was too heavy and she started to panic because she couldn’t help Max.

“OH NO!” Liz heard from the door and she turned to see their friends standing there watching the fight. She turned back around and watched as Kyle started to get tired from throwing all those punches and Max took that to his advantage and started to punch back.

“Well? Don’t just stand there…HELP ME!!” Liz said as she once again, tried to pull Kyle off of Max and after failing again, turned to her friends. “Michael and Alex get your asses over here!”

“Ok, come on guys…break it up!” Michael said as he and Alex grabbed Kyle and pulled him off of Max. “Easy buddy.”

“Max, are you ok?” Liz asked as she rushed forward and helped Max off the ground. She pulled him to sit on his computer chair and kneeled in front of him. Liz ran her fingers over Max’s face gently; fingering his cuts and wincing when the blood started to poor out of them. “Oh, baby.”

“I’m fine.” Max said and he winced when his lip stung and he brought his hand up to touch the cut and he rolled his eyes when he pulled away saw fresh blood. “Damn, that is going to hurt for a while.”

Liz sat up and placed a kiss on Max’s forehead before she turned to Kyle who was still in Alex and Michael’s arms. She walked over calmly and stood in front of her ex-fiancé and she quickly lifted her hand and slapped Kyle hard; causing everyone to gasp. “How dare you.”

“Liz, don’t.” Max said as he got up and walked over to his wife. He took her hand in his and saw the freshly red skin on her palm from where she slapped Kyle. “Remind me to never get you mad at me.”

“Yeah, it may not be pretty.” Liz teased as she looked at Max’s bare chest and saw all the marks from Kyle’s fists. “Max.”

“Hey.” Max whispered as he lifted Liz’s chin to bring her eyes up to him. “I’m fine, they are just scratches and bruises.”

Liz glared over her shoulder when she heard Kyle make a scoffing noise and she turned back to her friends. “Can you guys please take Max downstairs and get him some ice; I think Kyle and I need to talk.” Liz announced and Max turned her towards him right away.

“I don’t think so Liz.” Max said firmly as he looked into her eyes. “I don’t want you two alone.”

“What, don’t trust me with your girl Evans?” Kyle said with a smirk as he finally pulled his arms out of Michael and Alex’s grip.

“Exactly, look what happened with Tess.” Max said angrily and he turned to the group of friends when he heard a gasp and he realized for the first time that everyone was there.

“Max…” Tess said hurt and Maria wrapped her arm around the smaller blonde.

“What is going on in here?” Isabelle asked and she looked around the room at all the different confused faces. “Why are you in a towel Max?”

“I just got out of the shower and came in here, to OUR room, and Liz and I were spending time together.” Max explained even though he didn’t think he needed to explain his relations with his wife.

“I was telling Max about Mom’s wedding gift.” Liz said and she turned back to Max. “Sweetie, I think you seriously need to get down stairs and get some ice while I talk to Kyle.”

“Liz…I don’t think--” Max began to say but Liz interrupted him easily.

“I’ll be fine Max.” Liz stated and Max looked over to Kyle before he nodded his approval.

“Just…be careful.” Max warned and he leaned down to kiss Liz but winced. “Ouch.”

“Sorry.” Liz said as she brushed her fingertip on his lip. “I’ll be down in a minute.”

Max nodded and he started to walk out of the room, but not without shoving into Kyle one time before he ushered their friends out, leaving Kyle and Liz alone.

That was a great chapter! I'm so happy Max and Liz will get a real wedding. Hopefully Diane is right about it helping Liz's parents adjust to her being married.

Damn Kyle for barging in and interrupting!! Can't wait to hear what Liz has to say to Kyle. Max had better put a lock on the door so nobody else can interrupt them next time. Max's parents and Isabel may have their ideas about what's going on behind closed doors but that doesn't mean they want to see Max and Liz in action.

Wow, that part was exciting and intense! The opening love scene with Liz and Max was very hot and passionate and I could Kiss Diane Evans for being so helpful and supportive of Max and Liz's union, offering to pay for their dream wedding was beyond generous

I don't like that Kyle just attacked Max the way he did, but in a way, I understood his reaction. Although he and Tess did a very naughty thing by sleeping together while drunk, they did attempt to rectify things by immediately getting the marriage annulled. Neither of them expected their respected fiances and friends to hook up and get married and now claim to be in love and wanting to make it work. I am definitely a Dreamer, but I do have empathy for the other two jilted loves. It cannot be an easy thing to accept the person you dated for years and almost married is suddenly married to your close friend. I believe it is going to take a very long time for Tess and Kyle to accept this marriage, and realistically, they probaly never will.

I really hope Liz can get Kyle to back off and hopefully in time, he and Tess can come to terms with what has happened. Liz and Max deserve the chance to make the magic last

as much as I liked Max's good way to wake up his wife, I didn't understand how Kyle and all the gang got into their private room without Isabelle and Diane knowing it.

and I didn't appreciate that Liz had to tell Michael and Alex to help their friend from Kyle's attack. they would have seperated them since the begining or never accepted to come with him at the Evans's at first!

Maxsgurl, thank you for that wonderful praise. I guess I'm just really into the story. The congratulations should go back to you since it's your writing that channeled my thoughts. Well done.

I thought their friends would give Max and Liz more time but approaching them. But then Kyle was eager to snatch Liz back. Kyle isn't doing himself any favour by coming on to Max that way. Liz will lay it on him. But after she calmed down, she will need to tell Kyle exactly how she felt about the whole situation, not only her feeling of betrayal regarding Kyle's marriage and sex with Tess. She is angry and hurt but she still cares about Kyle. She doesn't want Kyle to be mad at Max or her. She does need to explaint o Kyle, how she felt about Max, their marriage and the future plans. Not that it's any of Kyle's business but just so Kyle would understand better and not to give them any more grievings.

Kyle will have a long way to go before really accepting Liz's marriage. He needs to distance himself and deal with this situation before they can be friends again. He might show some lingering anger towards Michael and Maria.

I think Max will be more insecure of Liz's feelings than the other way. Only time and Liz's happiness will convinced him of Liz's love and commitment to him.

Diane and Phillip are the best parents-in-law one could hope for. I guess being parents themselves, they understand the Parkers' reactions better. It's cool they are offering to pay for the wedding. But maybe they might want to talk to the Parkers about it too. After all Liz is still their daughter and they might want to pay too. Involving Nancy and Jeff in the wedding preparations will strengthen their faith in their childrens' commitment to making this marriage work.

I will start counting the days, hours and minutes before Thursday for another update. Thanks for giving me a reason to smile.

I was sitting here at my computer with my coffee cup in my hand reading this and I couldn't help but laugh when Kyle threw Max off of Liz. Why do men always feel that they need to solve their problems with their fists? But I liked the chapter, it was so cute when Max told Liz that he would marry her a thousand times. Hurry back.

What the hell did Kyle think he was doing? You can't just walk into someone's house and go into their room and start beating them. And if that was his big plan for winning Liz back then I think he needs to go back to the drawing board. But I do have to say that you are evil for cutting it off before we get to see the conversation.

One thing I absolutely loved about this chapter, besides the image of Max walking around in nothing but a towel, was how supportive Philip and Diane are. Max and Liz really need someone on their side right now, and I really hope maybe this wedding will go a long way toward making Jeff Parker stop being so stubborn. Oh yeah, I loved Isabel's offhand comment about more or less sleeping well. Poor girl.

Chapter 8

As soon as the group left the room they headed down stairs into the kitchen to get Max cleaned up; they had forgotten that Diane was in there. “Oh No! What happened Max?”

“I’m fine Mom.” Max said as he tried to dodge his mothers helping hands. She tried to touch his facial wounds but Max didn’t want anyone but Liz…he didn’t like her alone with Kyle. “It’s no big deal.”

“No big deal? Max, your bleeding all over my kitchen floor!” Diane announced and Max sighed as he moved around her to get a towel. “What did you do to make Liz hurt you like this?”

“WHAT?” Max asked his mother. He was completely shocked that she could think Liz would do something like this.

“Well, I mean you had to have said something…she wouldn’t beat the crap out of you for nothing.” Diane said and she wagged a finger in front of Max. “Did you say no to the real wedding? Max…I thought I raised you better than that.”

“Mom, first of course I said yes to the wedding…I wouldn’t deny my wife that.” Max said and he choose to ignore the scoff from Tess. “And secondly, Liz didn’t do this…Kyle did.”

“Kyle? Why would he--” Diane said and she quickly realized why Kyle would act that way. “Oh, I see. Um, Max? Were you and Liz being intimate when Kyle walked in?”

“Mom…” Max whined as he went and sat down at the table. “That’s a private thing.”

“Alone at last.” Kyle said with a smirk which quickly disappeared when Liz glared at him. He hadn't planned on beating the shit out of Max, but he couldn’t deny it didn’t help. In Kyle’s eyes, Max had stolen everything that had ever mattered to him.

“What the hell are you doing Kyle?” Liz asked, venom spitting out with every word. “You have no right barging in my bedroom and attacking my husband.”

“You’re lucky I came in when I did!” Kyle yelled at Liz. He couldn’t believe she wasn’t thankful for his help. “I saved you!”

“Saved me? What are you talking about?” Liz questioned confused. She still had feelings for Kyle and she had a feeling she always would, but if she and Max wanted to seriously give their marriage a chance, she had to push her feelings aside and let Kyle know where or who she was going to be with “You don’t need to save me from my own husband.”

“He was attacking you!” Kyle yelled and he continued before Liz could interrupt him. “He had you pinned down on the bed with your arms above your head.”

“I can’t believe this!” Liz screamed at her ex-boyfriend. “IT’S CALLED FOREPLAY KYLE!!”

“IT’S CALLED FOREPLAY KYLE!!” Liz’s voice said from upstairs.

“Apparently it isn’t such a private thing to Liz.” Michael said with a smirk as Max blushed.

“Well, it’s good to know I don’t need to talk to you about that one son.” Philip said as he walked into the room, obviously hearing Liz’s comment. “Max! What happened to your face?”

“Apparently, he and Kyle got in a fight about Liz.” Diane explained. “And now, Liz is in their room talking to Kyle alone.”

“Damn, well Max you should trust your wife.” Phillip said and they all looked up towards the stairs when they heard more yelling coming from their bedroom. “It doesn’t sound like they are getting back together.”

"What I want to know is why and how you all got up to my room in the first place." Max asked his friends as he held a towel to his lip to stop the bleeding.

"I'm sorry Max but I think that one is my fault." Diane said as she sent an aplogenic glance to her son. "They came by to talk to you and Liz and I sent them up...not realizing it would cause a problem. I really am sorry."

"It's ok Mom." Max sighed and he pulled the towel away to see if his lips had stopped bleeding; which it hadn't. "I just wish he would have knocked."

"We've never had to knock before." Tess said quietly and Max knodded a little before he responded.

"Your right, but I never had a wife living with me before either." Max said and he felt a little bad when he saw Tess' eyes begin to water. Although he loved Tess and would have married her, he needed to let people know that he was married to Liz and was going to stay that way. "We all have to learn to deal with that."

“Max was not hurting me Kyle.” Liz said as she ran a frustrated hand through her hair. “He’s been nothing but gentle with me.”

“I can’t believe this.” Kyle said as he sat down on the bed and put his head in his hands. “Why is this happening?”

“What do you mean? You know exactly why this is happening Kyle.” Liz said as she tried not to cry. Her life wasn’t supposed to be this way; she was supposed to be happy and carefree. “You married Tess and you just expect me to forgive and forget that little fact?”

“I’m not married to Tess anymore, we got the marriage annulled the next day.” Kyle explained honestly. He was trying to figure out how to fix this mess…to get Liz to love him again.

“Still doesn’t change the fact that you did marry her.” Liz said as she turned to Kyle hurt. “And you slept with her. I can’t just forget that Kyle.”

“Liz…please, let me explain. We all went out for drinks and--” Kyle said. He was going to explain that they got drunk and he had no control over his actions but Liz interrupted him.

“I don’t care Kyle.” Liz said firmly and she wiped her tears away. She couldn’t believe he was going to sit there and make excuses for his actions…like that was going to make it all go away. “I don’t care how it happened, but you need to realize that it did happen.”

“What are you saying Liz?” Kyle asked. “What’s going to happen to us?”

“There is no us Kyle.” Liz added. “I’m saying that I’m married to Max and that is how it’s going to stay.”

“But, I love you.” Kyle cried; his heart breaking when Liz responded.

“I love you to Kyle…but I can’t trust you.” Liz said and she sat down next to Kyle and hesitated before she placed a hand gently on his arm. "Kyle I know you're hurt because I am too. But I'm married to Max and we have both decided to make this work...you have to let me go Kyle; that's the only way any of us with be happy."

"You want me to be happy?" Kyle asked and Liz nodded. "I'm only happy when I'm with you Liz."

"No Kyle..you'll find happiness again...but it won't be with me." Liz stated and Kyle nodded before he got up and headed out of the room

“Max?” Tess asked hesitantly from her seat at the table. She had been waiting for him to talk to her, but after waiting for the last half an hour she realized she would have to make the first move.

“What do you want Tess?” Max asked as he held the ice pack to his eye, hoping to reduce the swelling. He had already bandaged up his cuts and scrapes with the help of Isabel and his mother, now he was just nervously waiting for Liz to return.

“Aren’t you going to talk to me?” Tess asked. She was shocked at the cold tone she heard in Max’s voice, she had never heard that before let alone had it focused on her.

“What is there to talk about?” Max asked confused. Did she really think she deserved to be with him?

“How about the fact that we were going to get married Max? What happened to change that?” Tess cried as she stared at Max. She wanted him to know how much she loved him, but how could she if he didn’t even talk to her.

“You married and slept with my best friend who just happened to be your best friend’s fiancé, that’s what happened Tess.” Max said and he turned towards the stairs when he heard someone walking down them. Max quickly stood up when he realized it was Kyle walking towards him.

“You better take care of her…or I swear on my mother’s grave, that I will kill you myself.” Kyle vowed to Max and he didn’t even hide the tears that were falling from his eyes as he stared at his best friend. Without waiting for his response, Kyle backed away from Max and left the house.

Max turned to run up the stairs to see Liz, but he saw her already in the kitchen and he move to her side instantly. “Hey, you ok?”

“I’m fine.” Liz said and she allowed Max to wipe away her tears; she looked up and him and smiled her gratitude. “I should be asking you the same thing.”

“I’ll be ok, don’t worry about it.” Max said as he removed the ice from his face and watched Liz wince. “I’ll be black and blue for a few days…but I’ll get better.”

“He sure did a number on you didn’t he.” Liz commented as she turned Max’s face from side to side, looking at all his injuries. “Damn wrestlers and their steroids.”

“I guess so.” Max chuckled and he pulled Liz into his arms. “I didn’t like knowing you were alone with him.”

“I know.” Liz sighed. “But don’t worry…he won’t be bugging us again.”

“That’s all you have to say?” Tess finally said from her seat. She had been watching the interaction between Max and Liz; they had always been touchy with each other, but it was amazing how quickly they had moved to being affectionate with each other in a sincerely loving way. “You break both our hearts…and all you can do is joke about it?”

“Tess…” Maria said as she took a step towards her friend. She knew Tess and Kyle were hurting and confused, hell they all were, but Max and Liz needed their support.

“No! I can’t do this…I can’t sit back and let you all act like everything is ok!” Tess screamed as she jumped form her seat.

“That’s enough Tess.” Michael warned his cousin who just glared at him before turning to Liz.

“This is such a mistake; it won’t last. As soon as Max is done screwing you, he’s going to get tired and move on…you will just be a phase.” Tess commented and she smirked when she saw the doubt cloud in Liz’s eyes but before she could add to that, Max attacked.

“DON’T YOU EVER SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT TO MY WIFE AGAIN!! DO YOU HEAR ME TESSA?” Max screamed as he stood in front of Liz effectively blocking Tess from her. “You leave her and our marriage out of this.”

“What about our marriage Max? We had plans too!” Tess cried. She hated seeing Max defending Liz so easily…she couldn’t remember a time he did that for her.

“We don’t have a marriage and if you can’t see or accept that, then I don’t think you can be in our lives.” Max said as he walked towards the front door and opened it. “What’s it going to be Tess?”

“You ass!” Tess cried as she ran past him and out of the house.

"Ok...can you two please explain how all this happened?" Maria asked and Max sat down at the table and pulled Liz into his lap before he began.

"We were out picking rings and we went back to the guys room to put my ring away before he went to find all you guys." Max explained and his friends watched as he oblivioulsy played with Liz's wedding ring on her hand.

"I went to the bathroom and on the way back I peaked into Kyle room and saw them in bed...naked." Liz said and their friends just shared a glance before she continued. "I walked out and Max showed me the wedding license he had found stating that they were legally bound together."

"We walked around for a while and ended up at the chapel and decided to get married." Max said as he stared into Liz's eyes and she blushed before she turned to her friends.

"We rented the honeymoon suite and well we aren't going to go into that." Liz said with a blush and Max pulled her closer and kissed her temple. "We talked and decided to stay married....make this work. We love each other and we completely accept this marriage."

“What about you guys?” Max asked as he stood up, pulling Liz with him and faced his friends who were sitting at the table. “Can you guys accept what Liz and I are trying to do? Can you accepted our marriage?”

“We know it isn’t conventional…but Max and I both want to make this work.” Liz added as she held her husband's hand. “We understand it isn’t going to be easy, but we have made our choice…now it’s time for you to make yours.”

“Liz, I already told you earlier that I am here for you.” Isabel said and she got up to stand in front of her brother and sister-in-law. “That still stands.”

“Thanks Isabel.” Max whispered as he hugged his sister and then turned to his friends again. “Well?”

“We would completely understand if you guys don’t want to be a part of this.” Liz said. “We don’t want you to have to choose between Kyle, Tess and us.”

“Please…like I’d choose them over my best friend?” Maria asked shocked. “I don’t think so!”

“Thank you Maria!!” Liz said as she hugged her friend tightly. “I love you!”

“I love you too. You know I always have your back.” Maria said and she went and stood next to Isabel behind the couple.

“Well…this is going to be interesting.” Alex commented as he shook his head.

“Alex?” Liz asked worried. Maria and Alex were her other best friends besides Max and it scared her to think that one of them wouldn’t support her.

“You saved me back in grade school, there is no way I’m leaving you.” Alex said with a smirk. “What if I need you to save me again?”

“Thanks Alex!” Liz said as she launched herself into his arms and kissed his cheek.

“Michael?” Max asked hesitantly. This was a different story, Tess was Michael’s cousin. “She’s your cousin; your blood.”

“I know.” Michael said sadly and he watched as his friends looked at him worried. “And she always will be my blood; but you’re my best friends…I can’t loose you guys.”

“Thanks.” Max said relieved as he leaned forward and hugged Michael. They had their friends behind them…what more could they want?

“Now…let’s plan a wedding!!” Isabel announced and she, Maria and Liz started to jump up and down screaming.

“Here we go…” Michael said to Max but all he could do was smile at his life.

Maria pulled Liz to the side and whispered in her ear. "You know we still have to have a talk right? You're the first of the friends to lose her virginity and we are all dying to know some details!"

"I'll tell you about it." Liz said with a blush as she looked and Max who was laughing with Michael and Alex across the room. Max caughter her gaze and winked at her before using their secret language and telling her he loved her. "But no details...somethings I wanna hold on too."

“You sure you wanna do this baby?” Max asked as Liz as they walked up the stairs to her parents apartment. They were going to invite them to the wedding in 2 weeks. Liz and the girls had planned and planned and planned for the last 5 days and they were lucky to be able to get everything done on time.

“Yeah…I’m sure.” Liz said as she smiled at Max lightly before she knocked on the door. Max quickly turned her to him and placed a gently kiss on her lips. “Max, what?”

“I just wanted you to know I’m here for you…I’m not going away no matter what they say.” Max vowed and Liz smiled her gratitude before they turned to the door when they heard it opening.

“Liz? Max? What are you doing here?” Nancy asked in shock from seeing her daughter and her husband on her doorstep; she admitted it hurt that they knocked…they felt that they couldn’t walk in like they had done all their lives.

“We came to talk to you and Dad...Jeff.” Liz said calmly but on the inside she was freaking out. She really didn’t know how they would react to her plans or her even being there. Liz knew her mother was upset, but she would eventually get over the marriage…her father was a different story. “Can we come in?”

“Of course.” Nancy said as she moved past and she smiled at the couple. “Your father is down stairs…so let me call him up.”

A few minutes later Max and Liz were sitting with Nancy as they talked quietly when Jeff came up the stairs from the Crashdown. “This better be important Nancy…the oven just went out and I wa—Liz.”

“Hello Daddy.” Liz said nervously and she smiled at Max when she felt him rub her lower back, letting her know he was there for her.

“What are you doing here?” Jeff asked; he made no move to walk into the room, he just stood there staring at his daughter and her husband.

“We came to talk to you Sir.” Max said. He had decided to let Liz lead this conversation since they were her parents, but she didn’t seem to be having any luck with her father.

“Well, I really don’t want to speak to you.” Jeff said coldly and Nancy finally said something.

“Jeffery Alan Parker!” Nancy scolded her husband. “You get your ass on the couch and listen to what they have to say.” Nancy waited until a pissed Jeff sat down next to her before she turned to Liz. “So, what did you two want to talk to us about?”

“Well,” Liz said as she turned and pulled out a card from her purse and handed it to her mother. “We wanted to give you that and invite you personally to the wedding.”

“Wedding?” Nancy asked confused and she flipped open the beautifully decorated card and read the inside:

“You’re getting married again?” Nancy asked as she handed the invitation to her husband.

“Yes, my parents are giving us a proper ceremony as a wedding present.” Max explained as he watched Liz’s parents carefully. “It would mean the world to us if you would be there.”

“And your parents support this marriage?” Jeff asked as he read the card over and over. Not once did it say anything about him or Nancy…but he knew he never gave them a reason to put them in there.

“Yes, they may not agree with us, but they want to be a part of our lives.” Liz said and she met her fathers eye’s briefly. “We are actually living there right now until we find our own place close to school, we’re paying $200 a month rent.”

“Wow, that’s great honey.” Nancy said sincerely. She wished she could have been able to open their home to Liz and Max but Jeff would never have allowed it.

“It is.” Liz said as she looked at Max and smiled. “The whole Evans family has been so supportive of our decision.”

“So, what do you want from us?” Jeff asked as he tossed the invitation on the coffee table. “You want me to pay half or something?”

“No, my parents have it all covered.” Max asked shocked…he thought this would be the bridge to help reconnect Liz and her parents.

“We just wanted your blessing and maybe your acceptance of our invitation.” Liz said sadly. She knew this wasn’t going to be easy…but she had to try. “Obviously we aren’t going to get either one from you today.”

“Liz?” Max asked as he watched his wife stand up and she held her hand out for him to take.

“We are leaving, we won’t bug you again.” Liz said and with out another glance she walked towards the door with her husband.

“Liz wait!!” Nancy called out after her daughter and she met them before they left the house. “I’ll be there…I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Thanks mom.” Liz said as she hugged her mother before leaving. Nancy returned to the living room where her husband was sitting quietly.

“You’re going.” Jeff said, it was more of a statement than a question.

“I am.” Nancy said as she picked up the invitation and gently placed it on the refrigerator. “You aren’t going.”

“I can’t do it Nancy…I can’t be there.” Jeff said and Nancy walked back over to him.

“Jeff you think I don’t understand…but I do.” Nancy said as she bent down and kissed her husband's forehead. “But, I’m not going to let this push my daughter away from me…you’re the one who is letting something so small steal your baby.”

Nancy left the room and Jeff said in the dark, empty room thinking about his decision to not support Liz and if it was the right one.
