A Dorm Room Game (AU, CC, ADULT) [COMPLETE]

Post by touched by an alien »

Title: A Dorm Room Game

Author: Touched by an alien

Catagory: If I had to say who the biggest couple is, then I'd be forced to say M/L, but it's got just about every CC couple in it too.

Rating: Mature

Disclaimer: None of the character's from Roswell are from me... we all know this so let's move on.

Summery: It's freshman year in NYC, and the dorm's have decided to play a game... it's called Hit Man. Names and water guns are handed out, whoever's name you get is your next target, but be aware cause anyone could have your name. Choose your weapon wisely and watch your step, because any one could be your next hit man.

Author's Note: This is semi bassed on an episode from Felicity. Now I don't usually watch the show, but it just so happened that I actually felt like watching it. Anyways, if you don't like the show then that doesn't mean that you won't like this story, since only the mere idea of them playing Hit Man came from it.

The Amazing Banner is all Lorastar. The Girl's got serious talent.

Chapter 1- let the games begin

“Ai’right, since I’ve gotten complaints that our dorm is too closed off and don’t interact enough with each otha, I’ve been forced to set up a group activity,” the RA explained in bored and rough tone. Zan, a junior from New York City, always put up a front on basically everyone, but he is the best damn RA there ever was. If you had a problem, all you would have to do was ask da’ man. Of course he was the most arrogant man you’d ever met as well, but it was a good trade up nonetheless.

“The game’s Hit man. Each of ya will be given a card. Who eva’ ya got then they’re your target. Each of ya gets a water gun. If you get your target, then they gotta give you ‘dar card and then that’s your next target. If you get hit, then your out of da’ game. Who ever’s left, is da’ winner. You can play or not; I don’t really give rate’s ass. Everyone go back to dar’ room, and your card will be slipped under the door. Now get the fuck out of my hair,” Zan dismissed with a small-lopped sided smile.

“This is really lame. Explain to me why were playing?” Isabel asked her roommate.

“Because, we have nothing to do,” Liz reminded her. They were both over and done with their exams, while everyone else was still studying. Ergo no parties were booming on the usually thunderous campus, ergo there was nothing to do what so ever.

Usually the parties were pretty wild at NYC; they’d know since they were usually the first to volunteer. They’d been to all of them. Whether it was a small college dorm party, or if it were a huge underground rave, it didn’t matter. Once they had gone to a party where everyone stripped and ran into the pool in the middle of December. No words could explain how cold it was.

“Hey guys,” Maria walked into the lounge room and pulled off her heavy bag.

“How’d Art go?” Liz asked.

“Fine, so has the game started yet?” she asked as she unclipped her hair and wiped her hands from the remaining paint from the final, as they all noticed a couple of the bubbly cheerleaders hang up a Halloween poster, except it was spelled ‘Holloween’ instead. Liz could hear Isabel laugh off and thought she heard her say something like “Hollow’s right.”

“In five minutes. So you girls better get them’ asses movin’ before I disqualify ya,” Zan chipped in.

“Oh God forbid, we get disqualified,” remarked Izzy with a more sarcastic tone than needed to prove her point, even as she had started walking down the hall towards their room.

“Are you playing too Zan?” Liz asked with a small smile.

“As much fun as it sounds havin’ ya be my hostage Sweets, I gotta a final in an hour… but hey I tell ya what; if I get back and your still in the game, I’ll hunt ya down myself,” he winked and kissed her friendly on the forehead.

When he received one of her sunshine smiles, he laughed softly before heading for the elevator. “Girl, you know that Zan’s got a thing for you,” Maria chuckled while linking arms with her and mildly skipping down the hallway.

“Zan, are you crazy! He’s the RA!” Liz exclaimed.

“It’s a forbidden love,” Maria laughed as she ran into her room, “See ya in five Lizzy.”

She heard Death Cab for Cutie “Soul meets body” played lightly in the room before hearing Isabel say,“Hey catch,” while throwing a water gun her way. It was one of those small ones that had a vibrant color to it.

“So, who was that guy I saw you talking to early in the lounge?” Liz asked out of pure curiosity. Sadly, their dorm house had six other floors, which meant that you most likely you hadn’t seen, let alone know less than half of the other students living there. Plus it was only the first quarter of their freshman year, so it was pretty regular to meet a new person every day.

“Oh, Alex, he was just explaining some stuff in my Psychology class that’s all. He’s kind of sweet in that puppy dog kind of way,” she commented as she flipped through a magazine with a lack of energy that was common in her nature. Very few things entertained Isabel Evans, and even then it was only a matter of time before she began to grow jaded again.

They both turned their heads once they heard the knock on the door. Once Liz saw the two white envelopes that had been slipped under the door, she walked over and tossed one over to Isabel’s bed.

“Let the games begin,” Isabel stated sarcastically.

Liz shook her head at her roommate before opening the envelope and unfolding the card with a name on it. Who ever was on it, wouldn’t know what hit him, because he or she was going to be her first target and they were going down. She scrunched her nose before asking,

“Who the hell is Tess Harding?”

*************************************************

Max exhaled a breath as he walked down the hallway to his dorm. It had been a long day and he just wanted to sleep for the rest of their break after that painful exam he had just taken. He was stopped to find the door shut and locked; it was fairly odd since he and his roommate always left the door open. It’s just about the quickest way to meet people in your dorm. All you have to do is leave your door open, and people passing by will pop in to introduce themselves. Everyone knew that.

So naturally Max was confused to find the door shut let alone locked. Hell did he even have his keys with him? Did he even have a key to his dorm? Before going to the RA, Max took a wild chance and knocked on the door. To his surprise, the door opened to reveal his roommate scratch his eyes from sleep and got a rough, “Hey man.” He turned around to his bed and fell back on the bed.

“Why’s the door shut?” Max asked before turning on a lamp to light the black room. Michael had closed the blinds and turned off all the lights.

“Huh… oh tired… exams… I’m just… tired,” he breathed as he shielded his eyes from the new light with his elbow in front of his face. At first glance it was a regular room for a dorm, but when Max had first gotten to college he felt home sick just like many of the other students. The room plus his roommate helped a lot with settling into a new place that was more than two thousand miles away from home. Laying his bag and coat down, Max turned as someone knocked on the door.

“Don’t answer that. Trust me,” Michael ordered before rolling over to the side and pulling a pillow over his head.

“Why?” he asked back.

“Trust me you don’t want to answer that,” Michael lifted his head to make eye contact with him with a serious face to accompany it. Max finally got up when the person wouldn’t give up and just kept knocking louder. He could hear giggling on the other side of the door. When he opened the wooden door, he found a couple of bleach blond sorority girls. He could tell by their cheerleading shirts that could easily be the same size for the Hooters’ T-shirts.

“I told you not to open the door man,” Michael grumbled as he rolled over to the other side of the bed to hide away from the happy and cheerful partying girls that were batting eyelashes towards Max and putting on innocent smiles that mind you weren’t so innocent.

“Hi, we’re from two floors up. We’re pretty much just spreading the word around that we’re having a Halloween party on Thursday if you feel like dropping by. We’ve already had the pleasure of meeting your roommate, but I saw you walking down the hall and just couldn’t resist,” a short and curly haired blond with ice blue eyes flirted. To a normal college guy she would seem like a great piece of work or even easy territory, but Max had known girls like her his whole entire life. He knew exactly what she was like, and so he suspected his roommate did too.

“Ah… thanks, we’ll think about it,” Max lied with a calm nod.

“Hope to see you there Mickey G,” a taller and obvious fake blond flirted with a deep voice towards his half asleep roommate.

“Oh, where are our manners, this is Courtney and I’m Tess,” the cold blond introduced while leaning against the doorway.

“Well like I said we’ll think about it. Thanks… again for the invitation,” Max said with a forced smile before giving a small wave and closing the door.

Max turned around and leaned on the now closed door to find Michael shaking his head before saying, “Those damn girls have been sporting around here ever since I got back. Like I said you shouldn’t have opened the door.”

“Cheerleaders,” Max cursed while scratching his head.

“Anyone with that much pep should be put down,” Michael chipped in.

“What the hell is this?” Max asked holding up a colorful water gun up. Michael yawned before returning, “It’s for the game going down tonight. You know that stupid Hit Man game? Got it in the hallway on my way in. Are you gonna play?”

“I don’t know maybe. I don’t really have anything else to do… I gotta do some laundry before…” he was interrupted to hear another knock at the door.

Michael swore loudly, “Fuck off. We know about the damn party already.” Max opened the door again to find in fact no one, until he looked further downward to find two white envelopes on the floor.

Bending over to pick them up, Max asked, “This for the dorm room game?”

“Yeah, it’s got the name of the person your suppose to go after,” Michael said while sitting up on the bed and ushering him to through him an envelope. Catching it with easy, he ripped the white paper open to find a name, “Liz Parker?”

Max asked in the same confused tone, “ Kyle Valinti? Who’s Kyle Valinti?”

Chapter 2- Laundry day and Water Guns

Isabel laughed at the picture of Liz’s stumbled face. “Tess Harding? Isn’t that one of the cheerleaders?” Isabel remarked as she slid her card in her back pocket of her faded pink jeans accompanied with a wife beater that had the words painted on it ‘Don’t feed the model.’

“Shit, I’ve gotta go hunt down a cheerleader now?” Liz swore.

“Probably find her on the fifth floor. I think there’s a big group of them living there,” Isabel informed her.

“Damn, Who do you have?” Liz asked.

“Pam,” Isabel smiled.

“You got Maria’s roommate? You’re lucky,” Liz said before turning quickly towards the door as someone knocked on the door. Before she could answer it, Isabel pulled her arm away from the threshold. Liz gave her roommate a questioning look.

“Don’t go answering the door like that. You don’t know who it could be. It could be the person who has your name or my name for that matter. Any one could be your hit man remember,” Isabel whispered as she crept to the door and snuck a peek through the peep whole.

“It’s me,” a familiar, feminine voice called out from the other side. Liz and Isabel let out a small exhale of breath before opening the door. Maria dragged through the thresh hold before collapsing on Liz’s bed.

“Who’s Michael Guerin?” Maria asked as she laid flat on her back.

“Guerin? Why does that name sound familiar? Wait he’s in my philosophy class. He on the floor below us,” Liz replied as she found her keys and pushed them in her dark hip hugging jeans that had sporadic fringes and wholes in it accompanied by her red Chinese, sleeveless top.

“Where are you going?” Maria countered.

“To the fifth floor, to hunt down NYC’s perkiest cheerleader,” Liz sarcastically commented.

“You’re the one who wanted to play this game,” Maria sing-songed to her as she began to leave the room. Liz turned around to give a forced smile to show her unappreciation for Maria’s smart mouth and turned sharply back around and closed the door.

“I gotta go too,” Isabel sighed while grabbing her sunglasses.

“You’re going too?” Maria asked.

“I gotta go find that roommate of yours, by the way do you know where she is?” Isabel asked with slyness itched in her voice.

“She’s probably at the Big Apple Café. Why?” Maria asked with confusion.

“No reason, see ya later!” Isabel said with a hint of wickedness hiding in her eyes.

As Liz started to walk quickly on her heal, she stopped mid step when she remembered that anyone could have her card. She really had to be cautious anywhere she went. It created a somewhat paranoia. This was a real hoot!

Liz exhaled her breath as she walked out of Tess’ Harding’s dorm with a sly smile of her face. The previous incident running through her mind, Liz began to walk towards the elevator. The busty blonde didn’t know what had hit her. The sight of the cheerleader screaming as soon as water hit her face and hair by the squirt gun was priceless. As soon as she realized what had happened, Tess had screamed out the words ‘Bitch’ before throwing her white envelope at Liz and then storming off to her room in complete horror. It was quit refreshing to know that she had upset the cold cheerleader from her perky life. She was still lightly laughing when she reached the elevator.

A strong arm lightly brushed against her skin as she made her way into the elevator, and she pushed away the tingling sensation from the strong caress even as the dark and smooth voice seemed to apologize in her ear. The dark haired stranger could not be well scene as Liz only got a small glips of his face. She felt a warm sensation in her stomach from the vague stranger that was walking away. The doors slid closed in slow motion as it separated her from the mystery man. Letting her head fall downward in disappointment, she sighed to herself in the cold cart. She’d probably never see him again.

Knock, knock!!!

“Yeah?”

“I’m looking for Liz Parker?” Michael asked as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

“Why?”

“Uhm… she’s in my Philosophy class and…” Michael stumbled. He just wanted to get this over with. Squirting young girls with water guns wasn’t exactly something he was planning on doing this evening all though it did sound amusing.

The door opened to reveal a pretty, petite blonde. She stood there with her arms crossed over her chest with an impatient look on her face. “Well?” she asked.

“Are you Liz Parker?” he asked with studying eyes.

“No, look she’s not here. She’ll probably be back in a few minutes though so…” Maria fidgeted under his serious eyes.

“Oh, do you mind if I wait for her,” he asked in an extremely calm manner.

“Sure… I guess,” she returned as she turned and sate back into the desk chair she was sitting in before. She didn’t close the door because she didn’t trust the guy. Who knows, maybe he had Liz’s name for this stupid game.

She asked casually, “So what do ya need her for?”

“I just had a question about the class that’s all,” he answered. Why the hell did she care?

“Exams were yesterday for that class. What's your name?,” she stated with a careful tone. Something was definitely up with this guy.

Michael turned to look at the chick again. What the hell was up with the twenty questions? Maybe she was Liz Parker. He dodn't really remember her from class only vaguely. This chick had never said her name. Maybe she was on to him about the game.

“What’s your name again?” he asked her with a suspicious look.

“You answer my question first,” she demanded.

“Michael… Michael Guerin,” he answered in a deep voice.

Shit! He was her mark! Maria reached slowly towards the dresser to get the small water gun. This was just her luck. Instead of her hunting for her mark, the mark came to her. Who was looking for her best friend no less. He probably was Liz’s hit man. Her fingertips finally touched the translucent but small blue water gun… just a few more inches and she’d have it.

As soon as Michael saw her go for the water gun he immediately pulled his out of his pocket and warned her with a serious look before asking, “You never said your name. I’ve told you mine, so it’s polite to return the favor Blondie.”

“Yeah well I don’t do polite,” Maria retorted as she kept the squirt gun pointed at him. She was caught in a sticky situation; they both were as each others guns were pointed at the other.

“Put down the gun Liz,” Michael commanded.

“I’m not Liz! My name’s Maria genius!” Maria insulted.

“How the hell do I know that? You’re probably lying,” Michael grunted as he kept his eyes on her.

“Look around pal. This isn’t even my room. Do you see any pictures of me on that desk? Liz is a friend of mine,” Maria said with squinted and glaring eyes.

Michael glanced at the desk, and found she was right. “Look, I’ll make you a deal. You lay down your gun and I’ll lay down mine, and call a truce. Deal?” he asked. He really didn’t care about the game any more, if he ever did. It was better all around if they called out the white flag.

Maria thought about his proposition and before she could think a knock came at the opened door.

“Maria Deluca?” a tall, brown haired guy asked.

Maria sighed loudly, “Yeah.” And before she knew what hit her, water came squirting out of the guy’s gun and onto her blouse. She squealed in reaction, and found a triumphant smile on the kids face.

“You have just been killed,” he informed her with a smile. Maria grumbled, “Agh,” before taking her envelope and passing it to her ‘killer.’ Michael shook his head at the complete twist of events. He supposed this game was deadly.

“Michael Guerin? Who’s that?” he asked in confusion. Michael’s smug face immediately turned flat and pale in a blink of an eye.

Maria’s eyes automatically turned to Michael before raising her eyebrow at him. Michael didn’t say a word. He was waiting to see what she would say instead. Finally she turned back the stranger before returning, “He’s just some guy. I think you can find him on the seventh floor actually,” she lied.

“Thanks,” he guy said with a node before heading for the elevators. Maria’s gaze fell back to Michael only to find him staring at her. Maria suddenly felt uncomfortable.

“Thanks,” Michael said in a surprised voice.

“Sure,” she replied.

“So…”

“Yeah, so…”

Max sighed as he left the building after finding his first mark Kyle Valinti. He was a football player and had to go to the fifth floor to find him where quit a few of the jocks and cheerleaders could be found. Suddenly he was reminded again of the small brunette he had bumped into on the way by the warm sensation in his stomach that had yet to of left since then. He really only got a small glips of her face, but remembered the Chinese embroidered top that she wore that accentuated her curves. He still smelled her for crying out loud.

Zipping up his dark leather coat to fight the cold, Max went on his way to The Dine Wash. It was a well-known place for the college students in the building because of its location and it’s benefits. Basically you could wash your launder while sitting down and getting a something decent to eat while you waited. An out of Towner would have probably never guessed that it was a place to wash your clothes. It was lit up with purple and green neon lights and inside it had classy counters where you could order a nice warm meal.

‘Fuck it is cold’ he thought to himself as he stepped through the thresh hold and relieved from the biting wind. The warm air hit his face first and spread quickly through his body. Walking up to one of the dryers, he opened the washing machine and began to put dirty cloths inside. When he filled as much as he could, he closed the door and pull out a couple of quarters.

After the coins were pushed inside, he began to look for the laundry detergent but found none. Shit. “Hey, John you got any laundry detergent?” he asked the Chinese owner. He was a bit quirky, but a generally nice guy.

“No, no laundry detergent. You kids need to get your own laundry detergent. No laundry detergent for you Max Evans. Next time, bring your own,” he replied with a stern look and his brow crunched.

He released a heavy sigh and a small smile formed while he shook his head when he heard him mumble, “Kids today think they can get everything for free. Free ah!”

His head jerked for a second as his eyes saw a container of Tide lying on a counter. He reached for it, but found his hand colliding with something else instead, something soft. His gaze fell on the delicate, small fingers that his current hand was touching. Without hesitation his gaze pulled upward expecting to find a girl’s face but found an angel’s instead.

She smiled shyly at him, and pulled her hand away to give up the small container without a fight. She down casted her face with a breath taking smile as her hair fell in front of her face to hide the one thing he craved to see which was those warm, chocolate eyes of hers. His stomach all of the sudden got warm, and then it hit him; she was the girl from the elevator.

Looking up at him again she smiled and said, “You can have it.”

His brow creased at her words as he tried to understand what she was talking about. “Oh, ah you have it,” he refused after he finally caught on.

“No really it’s fine. I insist you take it,” she smiled as she tucked her hair behind her ear. It could possibly be the sexiest thing he’d ever seen.

“How about we share?” he smiled not wanting to argue with her.

“Okay,” she said quietly before tipping half of the box into her washing machine and then giving the container to him. He reached for it, but couldn’t resist the erg to caress her skin with his fingertips as he took hold of the box.

“Thanks,” he smiled before turning to the washer. Taking a long breath to let out his anxiety, he decided to try and play it cool. When he finished putting the cloths in the washer, he turned around and leaned on the dryer casually.

“You go to NYU right?” he asked as his eyes studied her flawless face.

“Yeah… I think we live in the same dorm actually. You live in the Ronald’s building don’t you?” she asked while still putting laundry in.

He smiled before asking, “How’d you know?”

“I’ve seen you before… We live in the same building,” she explained as her loosely curled hair fell in front of her shoulders. He nodded at her answer. So she had seen him at the elevator.

“You’re not from New York are you?” he stated more than asked a question.

“How’d you know?” she countered.

“You don’t have the infamous accent that I here all around town,” he smiled as he spoke in a surprisingly calm voice. She smiled at his comment and laughed.

They shared a small moment of silence before Max finally asked “Have you had lunch yet?” She looked up at him with those deep eyes of hers and shook her head.

“Let me buy?” he asked. She smiled and nodded before leading the way to a table.

Isabel found herself outside the doors of The Big Apple Café. She sighed before opening the doors and tried to push her way through the crowd of customers. She received quit a few complaints and huffs when she cut through the line and went straight to the desk. “Get in line lady. I’ve been waiting for half an hour already. Do the same,” a businessman in an Armani suit growled.

“Bite me,” Isabel retorted before asking Shauna if Pam had showed up for work yet.

“She’s in the back taking the longest fifth-teen minute break known to man,” she returned. Isabel sighed, which had lately become a habit with her and this game, before going to the back in search for her target. She had already started reaching for her lime green water gun in her purse.

“Pam?” Isabel called out. She heard some noise through the packaging shelves. She got closer as she inched closer to the small racquet. When she turned the corner, she immediately got out the greet plastic gun and pointed at… a wall?

There was nothing there. She was utterly confused; she could have sworn she had heard someone. She sighed and turned quick on her heal and screamed as she bumped into a hard chest. On instinct she pulled the gun at the person.

She felt completely stupid when a familiar smirk mocked her with its smile. She rolled her eyes and took a long calming breath at the man she'd met before the last time she was there.

“What’cha gonna do? Shoot me?” his cocky voice asked.

“Rath, you scared the shit out of me,” Isabel cursed as she tried to calm down her fast beating heart.

“You point that thing at every one Evans?” he asked in amusement.

“Have you see Pam?” Isabel asked as she ignored his question.

“In the kitchen, why you gonna attack her too?” he replied with a smart ass tone. She rolled her eyes and walked swiftly into the kitchen.

Pam’s back was turned to her as she flirted with the cook.

“Hey Pam,” Isabel said to get her attention while she was armed and ready to take her down. When she spun around, Isabel took the shot and scored.

“What the fuck Isabel?” she yelled from the cold water. Without saying any thing she took the envelope from Pam’s purse. A knowing and annoyed look came upon her face as she realized what had just happened.

“It’s nothing personal Pam. It’s just business,” Isabel smiled before walking out the door.

When she finally found her way out of the building through the crowded restaurant, she opened the envelope to find out who was next. The black ink spelled out the name ‘Alex Whitman.’

“Oh holy crap!” Isabel cursed under her breath.

“I don’t believe you,” Max shook his head with a smile. They were sitting at a table next to a window with a fantastic view of the cloudy sky that showed strong signs of a storm headed their way.

“I swear it really happened. So there we were stuck in San Francisco, no money, no cell phones, and in front of a bar. We had only one choice. We needed to get enough money to get home, so one of my friends offered him a deal he couldn’t refuse. We’d get six hundred bucks, enough money to get gas and get home; all we had to do was dance on the bar,” she explained as she leaned on the table with her elbows. She could hear Aqualung's“Brighter than Sunshine,” in the background.

“Okay, so it wasn’t so great but it sure as hell could have gotten a lot worse. Anyways enough about me, I talk too much if you hadn’t already noticed,” she stated with a smile while leaning back in the seat with ease.

“No... you talk just enough,” he replied while looking into her eyes. He smiled at her before pulling out his wallet to pay for lunch. The white envelope fell out of his pocket and on the floor before Max picked it up again.

“You’re playing the game too huh?” she asked while nodding at the envelope.

“Yeah, you know it’s not as easy as it sounds hunting down people you don’t know,” he laughed.

“Oh, I know. I’m mean you’d think they’d give a description of the person you know?” she said enthusiastically as Max found himself mesmerized by that smile once again, “Maybe a distinct description like how tall they are, or what floor their on, or a hair color, or…”

“Or beautiful eyes,” Max replied honestly as he stared at her chaste face. Liz eyes turned automatically into his when she realized he was talking about her. She blushed and turned her gaze to the table. She couldn’t remember the last time she had blushed, if ever, but yet again her gaze was drawn back to his.

The moment was interrupted by a loud ringing sound. It was her cell phone. Reaching in her bag, she picked up the phone, “Hello?” She immediately closed her eyes in horror. She had totally forgotten about what time it was. She was twenty minutes late for her job.

Closing the phone, she grabbed her purse before apologizing to the man she had just met, “I’m really sorry. I’ve gotta go. I’m late for my job and ah I gotta go.” She felt like an ass when she saw his confused, handsome face.

“I’m so sorry. It was really nice to meet you, and I’ll see you around okay,” she tried to smile before running out of the building.

“Wait,” he tried but she was already gone. He didn’t even know her name, and she had never asked for his.

“Mr. Evans your girlfriend forgot her laundry,” the owner reminded. Max closed his eyes when he realized what he was talking about. What the hell was he going to do now keep her laundry for her?

Chapter 3- Doorsteps and kisses

Liz let out a raged huff as her hands cupped her chin that rested on the counter from the lack of any thing to do. She was starting to wonder why she showed up at all. She could have still been at the dinner with her mystery man. Now that she had time to think about him, she realized what a dumb ass she was for not getting his name.

Closing her eyes in realization, she remembered that she had left her laundry at The Dine and Wash. And knowing New York, she’d never get her cloths back. They were probably already stolen and half way across town by now.

Pushing upward on the counter, she sat on the dark cherry flat service and pulled out the envelope that she had yet to have opened. She worked at a flower shop, and no one really bought flowers for Halloween as one can imagine, so there was really no one there.

“Sean,” she whispered to herself. Finally someone she had met before. Sean Deluca was in fact Maria’s cousin. He’d asked her out before a couple of times, and even once she had said yes. It was an… interesting experience. At the end of the night it was a mistake, but the date was interesting nonetheless. He wasn’t a bad guy let that be understood. It was just that he was more interested in her than she was in him.

Sean Deluca was the type of guy that you could get in trouble with. Normally she liked trouble. Hell she caused it most of the time, but his kind of trouble wasn’t the kind you wanted to get mixed up in. Last year he got arrested for breaking into the college’s pool with some chick named Ava. She was kicked out, but Sean some how got convinced the dean to not expel him. The one thing Sean Deluca was good at was talking his way in or out of situations. Like she said, partying was her thing not getting arrested.

“Liz, honey, why don’t you go home,” Jennifer said as she was wiped the counter, “No one’s here. I shouldn’t have called you in today. Go home and take the day off,”

“Are you sure Jen? I could stay…” she started.

“Go home Liz. Don’t you college students have social lives?” Jen joked while tossing her bag to her and giving a friendly hug while practically pushing her out the door.

Putting her coat on to hide the wicked wind, she sighed dramatically before making her way. “Okay Sean Deluca your mine.”

She felt really bad having to do this, and she didn’t even know why. Okay, maybe she did but she was most definitely not going to admit it. He was a nice guy. He had helped her pass her Psychology class, and now she had to kill him with water mind you but nonetheless she wasn’t looking forward to it.

She knocked on the door and took a long breath. It was one thing to shoot Pam, Maria’s smutty roommate; it was another to kill some one out of the game that had helped her when she had needed it. How was she going to do this? ‘Cold turkey,’ she told herself, ‘Cold turkey.

The door opened wide to reveal a tall brunette student. He wasn’t a geek parse, but he did love computers. His sweetness made up for the coolness factor. He wasn’t bad looking either.

“Hi Isabel,” he smiled excitedly.

“Hi Alex,” she smiled politely, “Well you going to make me stand out here, or are you going to invite me in?”

“Oh yeah, yeah come in,” he stuttered as he opened the door wider in invitation. Once she walked past him, he started to clean up the room. She heard him apologize for the miss, but she simply turned her head and studied his room. It wasn’t so bad.

“So… uhm, how are you Isabel?” he asked while shoving his hands into his pockets anxiously. Isabel smiled at his nervous expression. Cold Turkey she reminded herself.

“Fine… Hey you know that game that the dorm is playing?” she asked inconspicuously.

“Yeah, hit man. Its kind of fun don’t you think?” Alex asked.

“I guess…” she said as she turned her gaze downward.

“Isabel… you didn’t come here to talk about the game did you?” he asked with caring eyes as he sat on the bed that was across from her standing in the middle of the floor.

“Actually…” she started to answer truthfully but couldn’t get the words out. He looked like he actually cared when every other guy just wanted to get into her pants. Hell, he was pretty much the only guy she knew that cared about her feeling… well, he and her older bother. But she supposed he didn’t really count.

“Alex… uhm,” she started but couldn’t finish through. She couldn’t even reach for the water gun in her bag.

“Isabel what ever it is you can tell me,” he replied in a soft tone.

“I… uhm Alex… have you heard about the Halloween party,” she asked. She had turned the subject completely the other way. It was the only thing she could think of.

“The… Halloween party?” he asked.

“Yeah, you know the one happening tonight?” she asked aqwardly. He nodded his head carefully.

“You wanna go… with me?” she asked as she finally made eye contact with him.

“Are… are you asking me out?” he stumbled with wide eyes as his jaw had dropped to show a strong expression of shock.

“Yeah, if you not busy,” she stated in a cool tone. She was really good at that.

“No… but,” he said in still stunned.

“Good then, I’ll see ya there then okay?” she asked even as she started to walk towards the door.

“Wait Isabel,” Alex asked before she left.

“Yeah?”

“Thank you,” he said smiling smally. She laughed full heartedly before closing the door. Taking a big breath to let out her breath and leaned on the door with no energy left in her. She rolled her eyes at herself. ‘Yup Cold turkey!’

She knocked on the door loudly and waited. Knocking again on the hard surface, she still didn’t receive an answer nor did the door move one inch. Just when she was about to give up, the door opened wide in a fast manner. She almost jumped at the hasty movement.

“Elizabeth Parker,” Sean smiled as he leaned on the door and studied her from head to toe. She didn’t appreciate the way he was watching her, but she’d tolerate it… for now.

“Hey Sean,” she smiled all be it forced but a smile nonetheless.

“You wanna come in Parker, or do you just like standing in hallways?” he asked with a sly smirk.

“Uhm… I guess I could,” she answered cautiously. When she got through the door, she turned on her heals sharply and was about to say something but was stopped by his words.

“I’ve been wondering when you’d give me another chance. So, reconsidering about that date of hours,” he asked in an arrogant tone that she really hated. She just plan hated arrogant, except Zan. He didn’t really count though even though he was tough on the outside, on the inside he was a sweety even though he’d never admit it. So like she said he didn’t count.

“No… no that’s not why I’m here,” she corrected him as her eyes studied the room. It was messy, but so were a lot of dorm rooms.

“Oh, don’t break my heart Parker. You know I still remember our date like it was yesterday,” he spoke closely behind her.

“Funny, I can’t seem to recall it. It must have been an unforgettable experience,” she remarked sarcastically. Now he was right behind her and breathing down on her neck.

“Don’t tease me Parker. You remember that night just as well as I do,” he whispered. She turned around and was about to push him away, but before she could he had already taken hold of her arms and kissed her.

“What the hell are you doing Sean,” Liz yelled as she pushed at least a couple of feet away.

“I thought you wanted me to baby. Hey, are you warring anything under that shirt?” he asked in a smooth manner that gave her chills.

“Ugh… you’re a sleazy manipulative creep!” she screamed before giving a hard kick to his nether region. As she walked towards the door as fast a possible she remembered one more thing.

“Hey Sean,” she said to get his attention from the agonizing pain which had made him drop to the floor like the dog he was. He glanced over at her with squinted eyes and before he knew it, he was hit with freezing water.

“By the way I had you as my next hit. You’ve just been killed Sean,” she remarked with distain clearly in her voice before grabbing the envelope on the table and slamming the door behind her.

‘What a scumbag’ she thought with rage still inside her. She couldn’t believe that he was actually related to Maria. Where all college guys out for one thing and one thing only? It sometimes seemed like it. And she didn’t quit understand why her mystery man’s face came to mind. Okay maybe not all men… hopefully.

Waiting for the elevator to get to her floor, she decided to check out whom she had next. She pulled out the envelope from her back pocket and opened it expertly. She heard the elevator’s familiar ding before whispering the name to her self, “Maxwell Evans.”

“Hey Liz,” Jane from her floor said as Liz was on her way out of the elevator.

“Hey Jane, how’s things going?” she asked with a smile. Jane was a good neighbor. She worked at the corner market, and if anyone needed groceries all they had to do was ask.

“Not as good as things are for you. Damn, I wish I had that kind of company,” she joked with a kindly laugh.

“What are you talking about?” Liz asked with a confused smile.

“I’m talking about the guy waiting you at your door. You know Mr. Tall, dark and handsome?” she joked before leaving quickly towards the elevator with a final wave.

“Mr. Tall dark and handsome?” she wondered out loud. She cautiously walked towards her door. It could be a hit man for all she knew. And then there he was. Her mystery man was sitting on her doorstep and leaning against the wall while his arm rested on his knees.

Surprised by seeing him, she walked up slowly and waited. His eyes were closed and he was probably asleep so he didn’t know she was there. She had to smile at the sight of him waiting for her long enough to make him fall asleep. It was really cute… really cute.

“Hey,” she whispered before her hand grazed his bangs to push them out of his eyes. Did he always look that sweet when he woke up every morning?

“Hey,” he whispered back even though there was no reason to be whispering as his soulful eyes looked up at her.

“What are you doing here stranger,” she whispered as she leaned down towards him with a smirk that made him smile as well.

“Someone left their laundry,” he spoke softly while lifting the bag up easily to her.

She mouth made surprised expression before her eyes became wide eyed. “Oh my goodness, I thought those would be stolen and half way around town by now,” she said while talking the heavy bag of clothes.

When she looked back at him, she found him starring at her. He smiled and looked down from the act of getting caught as she finally sat next him on the floor.

“Thank you,” she said gently before he looked back up at him.

“Your welcome,” he whispered back. His breath blew gently against her face, and she closed her eyes as her body and not just her face felt warm… and safe. His eyes asked for something as they fell on her lips. His brought his hand up gently and touched her cheek. The touch was so soft that she involuntarily leaned into its warmth.

His head leaned down farther and she could feel every harsh breath, every gentle caress on her face. She couldn’t open her eyes felt so heavy that she couldn’t possibly open them. She didn’t have the energy to. She was left there waiting for him to touch her, and kiss her. She inhaled her breath when his lips touched hers in simple rapture. The moment was slow and agonizing and then… it was completely gone.

The door that they both had been leaning opened and they both ended up flat on the floor and staring up at… Maria and Michael kissing. They pulled apart immediately when they realized what or rather who was on the ground and looking up at them.

“Liz,”

“Maria?”

“Michael?”

“Max,”

Max and Liz both finally got up to stare at them and then each other. “What the hell are you guys doing?” Liz asked with a really strange look on her face.

“Nothing,” Maria scolded, “You’re the ones to talk. What the hell were you guys doing on the floor?”

“Nothing,” Liz countered with scrunched eyebrows while looking between the two that had just been kissing a minute ago. Liz wondered if they had seen them kissing as well, but she doubted it.

There was an aqward silence between the four as all their eyes seemed to drift downward to the floor. “I gotta go,” Michael stated before strangely walking off. His head turned back before asking, “You coming Max?”

“Yeah, just a minute,” he said before turning back to the small brunette.

“Listen, I wanted to ask Do you know that Halloween party that’s going down tonight?” he asked.

She nodded briefly as she stared up at him. “Are you going?”

“If it’s a party then I’m always there,” she joked while trying to egnore Maria’s stare.

“Great, so I’ll see you there then?” he asked with a smile while backing away slowly. She smiled and nodded before he turned around and was down the hallway with a smile on his face that he couldn’t stop.

She turned to her friend’s glare and smiled smugly before walking into her room. Her friend didn’t hesitate to follow her before speaking seriously, “You and I have a lot to talk about missy.”

“Yes… we certainly do,” she replied, “…we certainly do.”

Halo guys! Thank you guys so much for all the wonderful feedback. It made me smile and laugh. I didn't really have a chance to write a personal note to each of you guys, but I figured you guys would like an update as soon as possible... so here it is. Enjoy :D
P.S. I'm hoping to update another chapter somewhere around Sunday and Monday, so keep your eyes peeled

Chapter 4- The Halloween Party

Halloween, it’s the time when the real ghouls and goblins of the world actually get a chance to dress up as themselves. It also gives the chance for cheerleaders and sorority girls to dress smuttier than usual with out getting called provocative names. For Isabel, Maria, and Liz it was a chance to just have fun.

Maria, as usual, ended up in Isabel and Liz’s room to get ready for the party. After Liz and Maria had had a long talk about what had exactly happened that day with the two mysterious yet very hansom boys from their dorm, Isabel showed up with her costume in hand.

“Where in the world did you find this Isabel?” Maria laughed as she held up her costume for the party.

“Some gothic store on the corner of 14th street. I wouldn’t be caught dead in Party City, so I went with an alternative,” she said while pulling out some fake tattoos that were going to look great with her witch outfit.

Isabel’s gothic costume was going to be perfect for a witch’s dress. The black material was torn and had slits on the end of it. The layers of gazzy material weren’t all the same lengths, so when she walked one could see a splash of her thigh which had black whose and leather boots on them. She placed one of the gothic tattoos on her hand and one on her chest. Added with her curly blond hair, she looked simply hot.

Maria had chosen the complete opposite way to dress for Halloween. She had decided to dress as a fairy. The color was a pinkish white with the occasional sequin attached to it. The top of the dress was more like corset and was also shredded at the bottom but was cut off at the knee and not at the ankle like Isabel’s. Maria, the crazy girl that she was, decided to die her hair an auburn color and curl it while putting it up with pieces falling to the sides of her face. Her white strappy heals and the body glitter she added was the perfect touches.

And last but not least, Liz who hadn’t had a clue as what to dress up as from the beginning. Maria insisted that she dress up as an angel. Liz didn’t have any complaints to it, so she asked her to just pick something out for her. The dress was of course bright white and extremely low cut with strappy sleeves that often kept slipping of her shoulders. It was pretty form fitting as well and stopped at the knee and had a long slit on one thigh that stopped higher than mid leg. She told Maria it was kind of binding because of how tight it was.

Maria rolled her eyes before replying, “Honey, you think yours is binding, try wearing this corset.” Liz huffed but didn’t say anything else since she had a point. Isabel fixed her hair so part of it was braided and then pinned in a circle on the crown of her head to make it look like a halo. Putting on some glitter for her cheekbones and neck, Liz stood at the door for her perfect timing friends. She loved Isabel and Maria, but it always took them the entire millennium to get ready.

When they were finally ready, Liz looked at Isabel on their way out and said with a raised eye brow, “What no green skin and pointy hat?”

“As a attractive as that sounds to men, No,” she answered sarcastically as they headed for the elevator.

“Isabel, have you been swooned?” Maria asked as she leaned against the elevator’s wall with a devious smile.

“I have not,” she persisted.

“Is the ice princess is actually trying to get a guys attention? Normally don’t they offer to kiss your feet, or fluff your pillows or something? Since when did you have to try and get a man’s attention?” Liz pitched in.

“I’m not trying, boys still and always do, and again I’m not trying!” she answered all three questions in a huff. She wasn’t use to putting in extra effort. Yes, she always made sure she looked good, but she never really wanted a guy to be impressed. Somehow though, she did suspect that Alex would be speechless when he saw her. She could picture it now as she smiled to herself.

The elevator bell rang just before the doors opened wide to show vibrant lazar lights twirling around the room and piles of people jumping and dancing around. The music could be heard in one’s chest playing throughout the dozens of speakers.

Liz smiled deviously when she heard the infamous Rob Zombie’s song “Living Dead Girl.” The music was definitely an extra confidence booster. She was going to have real fun at this party. Glancing at her girls, she winked and started to strut her stuff and walk into the party like she owned it.

She wasn’t the only one who took the spotlight as Isabel went in another direction towards the floor of dancing bodies. Maria raised her eyebrow in amusement as a mischievous smile pulled at her lips. This was going to be one hell of a night.

Liz headed towards the bar which she assumed normally was the lounge area for that floor. Each dorm room had a different theme to it she had noticed on her way over. Some rooms were extremely dark with purple lights strung up on the walls with skulls and bones; others had bright pumpkin lanterns and bright orange lights. They had really gone all out on this one.

“I told’s you I’d make yous my hostage,” a familiar voice behind her whispered seductively into her ear.

“You wouldn’t do that would you Zan? Hurt a poor innocent girl like me?” she said in an innocent voice with out turning around to meet his gaze.

“Hhm, maybe you don’t know me so well Parker,” he answered smugly while coming around her side and sitting in the seat next to her.

“What ya have?” he smiled at her.

“Depends on what’s on the menu,” she replied without hesitation. He laughed before getting the bar tender’s attention.

“I’ll have a Corona, and the angel will have a what? A Shirley Temple?” he asked with a cocky half grin while watching her pretend to act pissed off.

“I’ll have a coke,” she corrected smugly while a giving a friendly glare towards Zan. Evan though she was in college, it didn’t mean that she was old enough to have alcohol.

Zan had chosen to dress up as to go to the army for Halloween. He was wearing combat boot and pants. The pants were the common army colors of beige and dull green. His shirt’s sleeves were torn off which showed everyone how muscular her was. If she hadn’t known any better, she would have thought he was in the army.

She smiled again at him before taking a look around the halls for her mystery man. Maybe he had changed his mind about going to the party. She started to feel disappoint when she heard Zan ask, “What’s the matter Sweets? You look’n for someone?”

“Why would I be look’n for someone, when I got you as my company?” she smiled, but looked away when she saw Zan wasn’t buying it.

“Just some guy… I met him earlier and he said he’s show up that’s all,” she explained before taking a long sip of her coke.

Just some guy huh?” he asked already understanding what was causing her to frown. He hated when she did that.

“If he says he’s gonna be here, than he’ll be here. And if he doesn’t then I’ll be happy to rough him up for ya,” he winked and smiled when she started to laugh again.

“Listen, I gotta go hunt down your friend Isabel. So sit tight and if your mystery man doesn’t show up, then I’ll take you out and cheer you up myself Sweets. Deal?” he spoke while getting out his chair.

“Deal. Hey Zan? Whatcha gotta hunt down Isabel for?” she asked with curiosity.

“Guess who I’ve got for my first hit,” he returned with a sly smile before disappearing into the dancing crowds. She smiled and shook her head before returning her gaze to her drink. Maybe he’d show up. She could only hope.

“Isabel,” Alex yelled through the heavy music. She was smiling and shaking her hips to the killer music when he had spotted her. She smiled wider when she saw Alex and ushered for him to dance with her. Any one could dance at these parties all you had to do was jump up and down to the music since it was more like a mosh-pit instead of the normal club dancing. There was even a basket at the side of the elevator for the girls to put their shoes in, of course you risked never seeing your shoes ever again knowing New York.

Isabel had laughed at the basket when the thought occurred to her that the Cheerleaders had put it there because they were probably seriously concerned about their precious shoes getting damaged.

When Alex finally got to her, he smiled at her with awe. “You look amazing,” he said but wasn’t so loud enough for Isabel to her so looked at him confused before trying to yell over the loud music, “What? I can’t hear you?”

“I said you look beautiful!” he yelled back. Isabel definitely heard him that time as she stared up at him knowingly. She wanted to hear it again so she asked him to.

“I said Isabel Evans you’re beautiful,” he laughed as did she before she intertwined her hands through his and started dancing to the music again as a new song came on that was Orgy’s “Opticon.” Screw the game she thought to herself.

“Hola chica!” Serena yelled as she rushed up to her and gave a hug, “I thought you were never going to get here.”

“Well you know, you gotta make time for beauty. So who’s here?” Maria asked as she took a seat on the bed Serena had been sitting on. The room was hers, and Maria had visited her more than a couple of times. Although it was quit different from it’s normal environment. Somebody had actually spray painted the walls with graffiti of ghouls and Halloween symbols. It wasn’t your average spray paint either. Since the lights were turned off, the red pain glowed as was basically the only light in the room. But surprisingly one could see where they were going without bumping into any bodies.

“Oh, you know the usual. The hoes and ghouls of NYU are strutting around like someone actually cares. Speaking of, I heard your girl Liz whacked Tess this evening. Man, she was so pissed off,” Serena laughed before getting up and practically dragged Maria into the hallway.

“Oh my gosh, I almost forgot,” Serena started.

“Forgot what? That my hand is attached to my arm?” Maria asked sarcastically before pulling her arm away from Serena’s and looking back at her. Serena may as well have not even heard her. She was too busy looking for someone else.

“There they are. Chica you have to meet these boys. There absolutely gorgeous and absolutely single,” Serena said while once again pulling her across the room.

By the time Serena stopped Maria was in pain and anger as she yelled, “Damn, Serena stop pulling my arm out its fricken socket!” When she heard a rough laugh, that was when she looked up to find Michael Guerin in all his glory.

“You!” she glared at him.

“Me,” he answered with a arrogant smile while his eye studied her outfit. She rolled her eyes and looked elsewhere once she noticed the pin stripped suit he was waring and a 20’s hate with his hair slicked back. She assumed he was suppose to be some kind of mafia hit man or something. Which was fitting she supposed given the game that the dorm was currently playing, which was also the game that had somehow ended up putting them together. ‘Yes, life was just full of irony’ she thought to herself.

“Where’s your friend Prince charming,” she asked referring to his friend that had somehow ended up on the floor with her roommate while making out.

“Max? He’s some where looking for your friend,” he answered simply. It would have been defining silence between them if the music wasn’t blaring through the speakers.

To cut the weird moment she decided to give the guy a break before asking, “So do hit men buy drinks for chics?”

“Yeah,” he answered.

“Good, then you can buy me a double,” she remarked before leading the way towards the bar.

Hola! Thank you guys so much for the wounderful feed back it made me smile. I really appreciate it :D . I've got another chapter for ya. And I hope you guys enjoy!

Chapter 5- Names and Faces

Zan made his way through the raving crowds while searching for a tall blond. Black lights hung over head and mixed with the different shades of colors bouncing off the wall. After half an hour of looking, he finally found her. When he was close to reaching her, he saw her whisper into some tall guys hear. The guy nodded his head with a smile and went off towards the table or some semblance of a bar.

“Zander King, what do I owe the honor?” Isabel asked while she placed a hand on her hip and showing way to much attitude towards a guy who was her R.A.

“Glad to see you too Iz. So a witch huh? Suites you,” he replied with as much arrogance.

“Well gee Zan, in spirit of Halloween I would put ignorance spell on you Zan, but it looks like someone’s already beat me to it,” she returned with a forced smile.

“Ouch ice princess, now don’t go getting your panties all in a twist. I just wanted to give a shout out to ya,” he retorted being unaffected by her witty words. Zan had figured out a long time ago that the reason why they never got along so well was because they both carried as much attitude with them as possible and still got away with it.

Zan passed by a very confused Isabel before he turned around and spoke again, “Oh one more thing Iz. I forgot to tell ya…” he pulled out his water gun before she could react and finished with, “you’re my mark.”

He aimed below her face and succeeded. He smiled arrogantly when he saw her shocked face, and held out his hand when he heard her say, “Some damn R.A. you are!” before she handed him her card.

“Nothin’ I haven’t heard before sweetheart,” he returned with sarcasm. Flipping the card open he read the words ‘Alex Whitman.’ And when the lanky kid showed up next to Isabel with drinks in hand it had finally hit him where he’d seen him before.

Before Zan had a chance to aim for Alex, Isabel ran in front of him as if Alex’s life depended on it. “Alex run! He’s your hit man! Run!” she yelled over the heavy pounded music. Alex’s eyes went wide when he realized what was going down.

“Move outta the way Iz. This sucker is mine,” he said as his water gun was pointed towards them. He couldn’t get a clean shot though because of Isabel. She was practically plastered in front of the kid.

“Look Alex I really like you, but if you don’t move your ass. I will force you to” she told him while she was still facing Zan. Alex nodded his head, and disappeared into the crowd. Before Zan could get a chance to follow him, Isabel tackled Zan and fell to the floor with a thud and landed on top of him.

“Damn it Iz. Get off me,” he growled and she finally moved when she realized that her knee, in the process of tackling him, had hit a very painful area on his body. When she took a look around through the crowds, she didn’t find him. Taking a deep breath she turned around to find a very pissed off Zan. She smiled triumphantly at him and was off again to find new entertainment he suspected.

Zan grumbled and rubbed his injured head before swearing to himself, “Freshmen!”

Liz was bored, and that was understating it. For the first time in her life she actually wanted to leave a party early. She’d been there for an hour it seemed at the bar waiting for a man that she didn’t even really know that well. She felt like the hopeless, pathetic girl in the movies that waited forever for a certain handsome stranger. It was weird because she’d never been that girl before… the hopeless romantic girl. It sucked being that girl.

She was even thinking about leaving the party and hunting down her next mark. After reading the words ‘Maxwell Evans’ she’d had a pretty good idea who he was. Well, she’d never met him before granted, but she did know that he was Isabel’s brother. A couple of times she was suppose to meet him on holidays, but it just never really worked out because of schedules. College life was crazy what could she say.

Just as she slid of the leather barstool and started to turn around, her breath caught in her throat when she felt a gentle caress on her shoulder. She closed her eyes involuntarily to the warming touch that was so soft. “Hi,” she whispered to him.

“Hi,” he whispered back. His hand caressed farther down her arm. His fingertips moved in small circles as he got farther down her soft skin. Swallowing roughly when he felt her shiver against his own body, he held her close to him. His eyes wanted to close when he smelled the intoxication of her scent. It was a warm and calming scent that made him feel like he was home for the first time since he had left Roswell.

His other hand slipped its way up to the back of her neck and caressed it, and he smiled gently when she let out a small breath of air and leaned against him in helplessness. He wanted to stay there longer, but he was dying to see her face, to in take her beautiful features.

Finding strength somehow he managed to let his arms slide down from her shoulder and neck down to her back as he finally let go of her. He felt all strength falter though when he saw her turn. She truly was his weakness.

Her eyes couldn’t leave his as she saw a look of pure amazement take over in him. She smiled when she noticed how he was dressed. He was wearing a black punk t-shirt and baggy, kaki pants. The shirt had written in white letters ‘R.I.P. and under it were the words ‘rest in pieces.’ To put it simply, he looked gorgeous.

“So what are you suppose to be… death?” she asked with a raised eyebrow. And smiled again when he simply nodded his head still in a daze with those soulful eyes. ‘Well, he’s certainly going to be the death of me’ she thought to herself.

“I’m not really into Halloween,” he explained at his lack of much of a costume.

“No, its good. It’s very original. Mine on the other hand lacks originality. I’m…” she started to say.

“An angel,” he smiled when he finished her sentence before adding, “but I already knew that.” Her face lifted to his gaze, as she was completely speechless.

He smiled as he leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Do you wanna go somewhere? It’s kind of loud in here,” he explained. He took her hand intertwining it into his and led the way when she nodded her head in agreement.

Marylyn Manson’s “sweet dreams” was blaring through the speakers as Michael yelled over at the bar tender for two Mountain Dews.

“So I take it you’re a freshman too huh?” she asked knowingly. There weren’t that many juniors and seniors at college that would order a coke.

“Yeah… and I take it your from New York,” he asked and shook his head smiling when she nodded her answer.

“You’ve got that accent. Plus, you sure as hell have the attitude of a New Yorker,” he explained with lopsided smile.

“Hey you’re acting like I’m trouble or something,” laughed off while nodding her head to the music. The DJ really knew his music for Halloween parties she had to admit.

“Oh, but I love trouble,” he said with a wicked smile as he looked into her eyes. She raised an eyebrow to his suggestion.

“Is that right?” she asked as she tilted her head as if studying him. He smiled and got off of his chair before taking her hand.

“Come on, I’ll dance with you,” he said changing the subject before dragging her to the pile of dancing people in the crowd. And the music had switched to Deftones’ “Digital Bath.”

Maria smiled and closed her eyes as she listened to the music and danced with him. Every time she swayed her hips or moved at all she bumped into another person. The floor was so crowded that you could easily loose the person you were dancing with, so Michael put his hand on her hip to make sure she didn’t slip away from him.

He smiled when her arms drifted up from her sides and up above her head as she got into the song.

You move like I want to
To see like your eyes do

She smiled and danced closer to him as her eyes were still drifting closed from the mellow music. It felt so calming to be in his arms. She didn’t want to think about the situation though between the two of them. She just wanted to dance and get lost in the crowds of people that were around her.

We are downstairs where
No one can see
New life break away

The lights were almost off. Every now and then a stem of light would shine on them. Colors of green, orange, and purple would hit the walls sporadically from the light streamer machines.

When she glimpsed up, she watched him as he looked back at her. She couldn’t even tare her eyes away from his. His eyes were as mysterious as he was. She wondered what he was thinking, but never got the courage to ask. She was too caught in her own emotions.

tonight I feel like more
tonight I…

His gaze turned downward towards her lips as his face drifted closer to her. They were mere inches away from kissing. He paused for an ad infinitum moment, perhaps just to tease her, before finally tasting her lips.

you make the water warm
you taste foreign
and I know you can see
the cord break away

And then… they were pulled apart like the moment had ceased to exist. He couldn’t even see her face; all he felt was the pull on his arm and a woman voice.

“Michael, hey Michael! Where’s my brother?” she yelled annoyingly as she waved her hand in front of his face to make him finally look at her.

It was Isabel with one of her infamous bored and irritated looks. Isabel Evans was his roommate’s sister, and had become pretty good friends with her. But at that moment, he wished she’d disappear. He just wanted to find Maria.

“Michael!” she shouted over the music.

“I don’t know where he is damn it Isabel! He looking that girl probably,” he finally answered.

“What girl?” she asked as she scrunched her eyebrows.

“That girl… Liz Parker,” he retorted as his eyes kept skimming through the dark crowd.

“Liz?” she asked, “Elizabeth Parker.”

“Yeah, you know her,” he finally returned his gaze back to her with a confused face.

“Yeah… she’s my damn roommate!” she exclaimed before grabbing Michael and taking on the search for her brother.

Eventually after looking threw quit a few rooms they found one that wasn’t bombarded with college students. It must have been the only room on the floor that wasn’t decorated with Halloween ornaments. It was nice and had low-lit lamps that made the walls glow gently. Liz smiled when she heard a song playing in the room’s cd player. The old song “Only one,” by life house created a calming mood. She sat on the bed and looked up at Max.

He leaned against the door and watched her from a far off distance with a light smile on his face.

She's got a pretty smile
it covers up the poison that she hides
she walks around in circles in my head

“So, have you caught your mark yet?” he asks casually as he steadily walked towards the bed. This small girl did something to him. He didn’t know what was happening to him. His body craved to be near her, his mind thought nothing else but of her, and his heart… his heart…

waiting for a chance to break me
a chance to take me down

“I haven’t really given much thought to it. I’ve been busy. I don’t know about you, but its not every day that my laundry gets stolen, a guy that I practically blew off shows up at my doorstep to return my cloths, and then ending up kissing him literally on the floor of my hallway,” she countered with a sly smile as she leaned back on her hands and bobbed her crossed knee casually.

He smiled and lightly laughed with her. She had the most beautiful laugh. “Who do you have?” he asked.

“My roommate’s brother,” she sighed.

“Well, that shouldn’t be too hard,” he smiled as he finally sat down on the mattress.

“It would be if I had ever met him before. I was suppose to meet him along time ago, but never actually did,” she replied with a lop-sided smile.

The moment in the hallway ran back threw his head. The way she had smelled, the way she had felt, and the way she’d tasted was permanently burned in his mind. He almost hated how much he craved to have it again.

He swallowed hard when he realized that the strap on her dress had fallen off of her shoulder. She was still talking about something, but his concentration was at its lowest level. The tempting view of her neck was too much for Max to ignore.

now I see the burden you gave me
is too much to carry
too much to bury inside

Reaching his arm out, he gently brought his hand to her shoulder and curled his finger around the white strap. She watched him carefully as he pulled slowly the strap back up her side shoulder and finally put it back in its rightful place.

His mind told him to back off, but his hand wouldn’t… couldn’t. Instead it caressed its way up to her neck. He looked back up at her when her breathing started to increase as his fingertips made small circles around her pulse. He could even see her chest rise and fall heavily from the intensity of the simple touch.

I guess you're the only one
that nobody changes
I guess you're the only one
left standing when everything else goes down

Her eyes involuntarily closed when his thumb brushed over her cheek, and she sighed when she felt his warm breath graze against her lips. When her lips parted and sucked in breath, he let one final hot breath be released before taking her bottom lip into his mouth gently.

you're still the only one
yeah you're still the only one

The fire that had been there in the first kiss still burned as much as in the second. He took her lip into his as much as possible and groaned when he recognized the sweet taste that he remembered from before. He sucked and caressed with his tongue as his eyes closed from bliss. He could become addicted to her so easily… maybe he already was.

Feeling like she was going to faint from the intensity of what he was doing with his lips, Liz’s fingers grasped his shirt as she began to lay down on the bed slowly. His hand slid to her back for support her until her head finally rested on the mattress.

Finally letting her bottom lip go, he fought for air that now seemed to no longer exist in the room. Even the air felt over heated like their bodies were. There was no ‘normal’ in this kiss. It was simply… earth shattering.

She didn’t under stand what was happening to her world. Ever since she’d met him, things had changed for Elizabeth Parker. She, who had never said no to a single college party, was once the girl that didn’t believe there was such a thing as extraordinary. She’d thought college life was just going be entertainment and partying. Max Evans had proven her wrong.

it's all shallow and all so appealing now
I'm up to my ankles and I'm drowning anyway in a sea of
sarcastic faces
familiar places

His hand had found itself twined softly into her hair. The moment was perfect. And then that moment… was over. One moment he was kissing the girl of his dreams, and then the next moment he heard the door swing wide open and… his sister’s voice? Michael and Isabel were in the doorway. Isabel was completely shocked, where as Michael just shook his head with a mischievous smile on his face.

“Max? Liz?” Isabel asked. This was one of the many few times that had actually shocked the hell out of Isabel Evans.

“Isabel what the hell are you doing here?” Max asked as he shielded his eyes from the bright new light that had been invited into the room as well as his sister and his roommate.

“Walking in on you making out with my roommate apparently!” she exclaimed.

Michael just held his hands out and said, “Hey, don’t look at me man. She dragged me around just to look for your ass Maxwell.”

“Maxwell…” she whispered to herself. Maxwell Evans, oh my g… he was her mark and her roommate’s brother all in one.

“You, out now!” Isabel exclaimed to liz.

“Why?” she asked.

“Why? Why? That’s my brother you’re kissing. And don’t even think your getting away with this either Romeo,” she returned to back to her brother with scrunched and evil eyes.

“I’m not leaving Isabel,” Liz refused.

“Elizabeth Parker, get your ass moving!” she exclaimed.

Max’s face dropped and slowly turned towards her. “Elizabeth… your Liz Parker?” he asked quietly to her. He already knew the answer though when he looked into her eyes. Her face was painted with guilt as she finally stood up next to him.

everything looks quite the same here it's
all confusingly amusing
bitter and tainted
the picture you painted to me

His eyes scanned every part of her face as if he’d never seen her before. He’d had no idea who she was until now. She was his sister’s roommate this entire time. The girl he was suppose to meet so many times but never actually did because of timing. A romantic would call this fate; a realist would call this irony in it's finest form. But sometimes fate had it’s own irony in the world.

I guess you're the only one
that nobody changes
guess you're the only one
left standing when everything else goes down

He turned his head finally back towards his spectiating sister. “What’s going on Max?” she whispered in confusion.

He sighed to himself as he realized how confusing things had just gotten with the girl Liz Parker standing at his side.

you're still the only one…

Hi there guys. I just want to thank you guys so much for the encouraging FB. I really love all of your feed backs. I can't believe how much i gotten back. And i even think i got a few new readers so all the merrier!
Anyways as promised here's the next chapter 8) .

Chapter 6- Partying, playing, and police

“I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t tell me that you were with my brother Liz,” Isabel yelled over the loud speakers as she followed Liz and Max who were currently trying to ignore her as Michael fell back from the group a bit just taking in the comical show. He just found it amusing that Isabel’s roommate, how so happened to be his mark, was digging on her brother without even really knowing his name. And when she did find out his name, she also found out that he was the guy that she was supposed to wack in this on going and ironic game of Hit Man.

“Isabel, I already told. She didn’t know that you were my sister,” Max turned around and said to stand up for Liz.

“Hey, Isabel,” Alex called out as he pushed through the crowd as Orgy’s “Opticon” ran through the speakers. He felt weird though when four pairs of eyes were all studying him strangely.

Liz smiled amusingly when she saw his costume as a priest. She didn’t know the guy and already she liked him. Hey any guy who had the humor to go as a priest to a Halloween, college party was okay by her. The look Isabel was giving him didn’t slip past her either.

Michael however wasn’t smiling. He began to grow a little uneasy when he soon realized where he’d met the guy that Isabel was with before. This was the same man who had shot Maria, and now he was his shooter!

“That crazy R.A. already left with a bunch of guys, so I take it I’m safe for now,” Alex smiled nervously from the group of people still staring at him expectantly.

“What crazy R.A.?” Liz asked but already knowing the answer. It had Zan written all over it.

“Zan,” Isabel rolled her eyes. Liz just smiled and shook her head.

“Are you gonna introduce your friend Iz, or are we going to just have to call him father?” Liz asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh, sorry… I’m Alex,” he shook her hand formally.

“Liz… so Alex, who do you have as your mark?” she asked perhaps for the sake of conversation. The way Max and Michael were just looking at him, she felt really uncomfortable with no one talking.

“Uhm,” he scratched his head and slid his hand into his pocket and pulled out the envelope. “Michael Guerin,” he answered cluelessly.

Liz instantly felt a big smile pull on her face before she turned to Michael and raised her eyebrow. “Michael Guerin? Uh… do you know a Michael Guerin?” she asked him innocently. Michael just squinted a look that told her to keep her mouth shut.

“Uhm… hey Alex you wanna go out side. I hear their playing nothing but scary movies at the movie theater across the street,” she asked him before the whole hit man scene replayed again. She really was getting tired of the game.

“ Ah… sure. It was nice to meetcha,” he said with a smile to the others.

“You too,” Liz countered before shaking her head and giving Max a small smile.

“Cute, real cute,” he stated sarcastically towards her.

“I know,” she returned arrogantly, “by the way who’s your mark?”

“You,” he returned slyly with a smart-ass smile.

“We’ll see you later Michael,” Max said with a forced smile and grabbed Liz’s hand before Michael even think about getting her. They disappeared into the crowd before another word was spoken leaving Michael there yet again in search for Maria.

“You cold?” Alex asked while they crossed the street on their way to the theatre. He had scene her shiver from the infamous cold air of New York, and before she could protest he’d already taken off his black suit jacket and had put it on her shoulders before paying for the tickets.

She looked up at him with a small smile on her face. As sweet thoughts ran through Isabel’s mind, Alex walked over to the door and held it open for her with a smile, “Madame… Izzy?” he asked confused as she just watched him.

“Yeah… yeah I’m come’n,” she said finally waking up from daydreaming. As she walked through the door she whispered a thank you before they entered the lobby full of local college students dressed in various Halloween costumes.

Isabel couldn’t stop the small smile on her face or event he thoughts she was having about him. She’d never met anyone like Alex Whitman. He wasn’t just some guy who wanted to get into her pants. He was actually sweet and funny.

“What do you want?”

“What?” she said again being caught in thought.

“The movie… what do you wanna see?” he asked with a tilt to the screenings. She remembered that tonight was the night that they just let you pay for the ticket and then you could see whatever movie you wanted or even however many times you wanted to see it. It was Halloween; it was all about breaking the rules right.

“You’ve pretty much got any scary movie ever made in history to chose from,” he smiled, “ The Shining, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Scream, The Haunting, Seven, The Silence of the Lambs, Psycho…”

“Uhm… Halloween?” she guessed.

“A classic, perfect,”

“I see you two found each other again,” Max smiled as he led Liz to the table that Michael and Maria were standing at. Apparently college students didn’t have chairs in their dorms; they had dozens of chairs, but such luck with finding a chair.

“I could say the same thing to you two,” Maria countered before they leaned on the small rounded table.

“Parker,” Michael addressed.

“Guerin, I don’t have to worry about to killing me do I?” Liz asked.

“No, for now any ways,” he half smiled. She nodded with smile as she felt Max’s hand slip threw hers.

“Trick or treat Mickey G,” a low feminine voice said behind Max and Liz.

Two blond and very busty girls came into sight. Liz just looked at them repulsed by the overrated cheerleaders. Though she had never seen the first one, she did however recognize the second one. There before her was Tess Harding the cheerleader she had shoot early that afternoon. She didn’t think she could dress any smuttier, but when she saw Tess’ belly dancer costume. It was basically a bikini with some see through material attached at the hip and ended as her ankle.

“Oh girls those are fantastic costumes, let me guess your dressed up as ho’s for Halloween right? You’ve definitely got me convinced,” Maria said in a mock preppy voice.

The one dressed in a short maids costume and bleached blond hair returned with distain, “Ah and your dressed up as a fairy how cute. Hey red why don’t you fly on out of here and stop harassing the real men at the party.”

“Hey, have we met before? You look a little familiar,” Tess asked a little dumb founded. Unbelievable Liz thought. This chick couldn’t even remember her from just a few hours ago. She really had no idea that someone could be that light headed. She was just proven wrong.

“Bitch, I don’t know what your problem is but…” Maria started but Michael held her back.

“Come on Mickey G. we can have a real party,” Courtney smiled obviously.

“I just know I’ve seen you before…” Tess kept on trying really hard to remember where she’d seen Liz before.

“Who the hell do you think you are?” Maria exclaimed.

“Maybe from a class?” Tess wondered with her index finger on her chin and studying Liz. Liz just shook her head and turned her attention back to the catfight.

“I’m sorry what was your name again… Cortesa?” Michael returned as Maria gave a sly smile to the blond hoe.

“Courtney you ass, my name is Courtney,” she returned with heated eyes.

“Oh my G… You’re the bitch that killed me in that stupid game!” Tess exclaimed with wide eyes. Liz just smiled at her and gave a look that said “It took you long enough.”

“Listen we’ll see in a while,” Max said while pulling Liz towards the dance floor. He didn’t want to get into a fight tonight, not when he had the chance to be with Liz.

Michael nodded to them before they went off into the dancing crowd leaving two very steamed cheerleaders and one very hotheaded Maria. This wasn’t the night that he had had planed at all.

She breathed in the heavy, salty air as the heavy music hit her lungs and every other inch of her body. “Erase and Rewind” by the Cardigans had been turned up extra loud when it came on. The lights had been turned down even lower if it was possible. Beams of colors shined over the crowd as they danced all their problems away.

She smiled when she felt his gentle hands on her hip and moved with her to the heavy music. She could start to feel every inch of Max’s body against her back and she didn’t dare turn around.

His hands slipped past her hipbone and over her stomach as he caressed every inch he came into contact with. Her breathing increased twice when his hands moved upwards. His warm hands gently lifted her arms in the air as his fingertips made a trail up her shoulder blades and arm. When his hands reached hers as they arms booth glided in the air lazily, he intertwined his with her never missing a beat to the slow and intense music.

Her head involuntarily fell back to his shoulder in helplessness from what his body was doing to hers. She heard him groan when she grinded into him accidentally. There were so many people around the two of them that a single push from someone would surely knock her off of her balance.

She sucked in breath when she felt his lips gently caress her shoulder and felt his hot breath against her ear. She whimpered as he smelled her and let his headrest against hers. “Your addicting Parker… a pure addiction,” he whispered gruffly in her ear as she felt his cheek graze against hers.

Sliding his hand down one of her arms, he gently tilted her chin to the side that was mere inches away from his face. She closed her eyes and in took every warm feeling, every comforting caress, and every heart racing word. She took it all in completely helpless.

Her hand that had been released brushed through his hair gently as she kept dancing dangerously close to him. She finally exhaled breath when his lips finally touched hers.

“Liz, Liz I’ve been looking for you all over. Listen you gotta come quick before your girl Maria gets in trouble for that attitude of hers,” Jane yelled over the music.

“What?” Liz asked as if she’d been thrown in a cold shower. Before Jane could answer her question she heard a loud Maria yell, “I’m gonna wipe the floor with you Courtney!”

Liz looked up at Max before she followed Maria’s voice as Max followed close behind. She didn’t know weather to laugh or be really worried when she saw Maria pull at Courtney’s hair as Michael tried to hold her back. She couldn’t help the laugh that came out when she heard Maria yell to the cheerleader, “And get some new extensions while you’re at it!”

“Liz, you’ve got to get her calmed down. One of the R.A.’s already called the cops. If they get here and find her like this, they’ll hall her off to jail for the night,” Jane explained.

Liz didn’t know what to do. She already knew trying to make Maria calm down by talking to her was a lost cause. And as she heard someone yell, “Five O’s here,” she did the only thing she could think of at that very moment. She reached through her bag and pulled out he lighter Zan had given her.

Jumping on top of the table she held the lighted lighter up to the fire detector. Soon enough the sprinklers did there job and let out cold water over the entire room. Screams and yelling were heard once the sprinklers released the freezing water on the sweaty dancing crowd of college students.

Max helped her down from the now wet table before taking her hand and trying to push past the hysterical students. “Come on, we can get to the roof,” Max yelled to her while trying not to bump into the cops that had just showed up and had started to arrest random people.

“What about Maria and Michael?” Liz asked as they reached the stairs.

“Michael will take care of her,” he promised as he dragged her to the cold rooftop. Max climbed down the railing first before telling Liz it was okay to follow. Liz’s eyes widend when she saw how high up they were.

The roof’s door opened with a loud bang to reveal a cop with a flashlight directed at her. “Ms. You stay right there,” he ordered.

“Liz come on!” Max yelled up.

Chapter 7- Sanctuary... sanctuary

“Liz let’s go,” Max yelled up as he held his hand out for reassurance. She looked back at the cop and froze for one more second before finally climbing down the railing. She held her breath from the freezing wind that kept blowing her damp body. The water from the sprinklers still lingered on her body, not to mention the outfit didn’t keep her any warmer. Her straps on her shoulders kept slipping off of her shoulders, and she pushed them up one final time before reaching Max.

He took her hand before starting to run across the street and away from the three cop cars that were parked in front of the building. “To think Maria is the cause of all this,” Liz shook her head.

Max just chuckled before yelling, “Michael!” as he saw him pulling Maria behind him out of the confused and wet crowd. When Michael saw his face he nodded to him and walked over in exasperation.

“Zan!” Liz yelled over when she caught eye of him next to a couple of other juniors watching the incident go down. He turned his head and rushed over when he saw her.

“Whet hell's going on?” he asked her with a scowl. He looked a little confused when he saw everyone was dripping wet with water. Everyone started to turn their heads slowly towards Maria at the question. Teqnically she was the cause to it, but Liz was to blame for the fire alarm she supposed.

“Some cheerleader ho was mouthing off. I just decided to teach her a lesson,” Maria defended herself.

“Who the hell called the cops?” Michael swore while taking off his coat and handing it to Maria. She studied him carefully before putting it on.

Zan just snorted, “Probably some freshmen… no offence,” he stated lastly when even Liz took offense to his answer.

“So what do we do now? The night’s still young, and its only a quarter till twelve,” Liz stated with her hands on her hips after she brushed her wet hair out of her face.

“We could go clubbing,” Maria suggested.

“Call me crazy but I think I’ve had enough dancing and wet bodies for the night,” Liz returned. Max just nodded in agreement while trying to squeeze water out of his shirt.

“Nice look for you Parker,” Kyle joked while walking past them. She slapped him on the head with a smile on her face before returning, “Shut up Valinti.”

“Hey it’s a compliment. You look nice wet,” he returned jokingly back. She swore and pushed him away in a friendly way, before he kept walking with a couple of people.

“The Providence?” Michael asked Max.

“The Providence?” Maria asked Liz. Neither she nor Liz had ever heard of it.

“It’s a lounge. We know a guy there that sneaks us in sometimes,” Michael explained with his arms crossed.

“Sounds good,” Liz smiled, “Zan you come’n?”

“Nah, I know that place. It’s too classy for my taste. Anyways, I’m sure I’m gonna have my hands full with dis,” Zan said with a node towards their catastrophic building.

“You have fun angel,” he returned with a smile before walking towards a couple of the other R.A.’s standing outside.

“Alright then let’s bounce,” Maria said while hooking her arm through Liz’s and walked down the street as the guys followed behind them and went off into the night.

Isabel laughed when a couple of people were throwing popcorn at the screen and telling Jamie Lee Curtis not to go into the house. Isabel just shook her head and laughed with Alex again when some girly girl screamed from the back in terror.

She leaned the popcorn bag towards Alex to offer some of the buttery goodness. He smiled before taking some as she smiled shyly back before looking up at the screen.

“Behind you Jamie! He’s behind you!” some guy yelled dramatically from behind them. Alex made a funny face before turning around and giving the guy a strange look. Isabel burst out laughing and kept her head tilted towards him. His smile slowly turned to being serious when he saw her. She was staring at him with those big eyes of hers once again.

When he saw her eyes drift down to his lips, his heart started to race. Was he about to kiss Isabel Evans his dream girl?

“Alex,” she whispered quietly.

“Yeah,” he said before leaning in. He couldn’t believe this was happening. He kept thinking that this all was dream or even hallucinating, but when he felt her lips on his he knew that all it was really happening.

They lingered there for mere seconds, but it felt perfect. The kiss felt perfect and that was all that mattered to Isabel.

“Wow,” he smiled.

“Yeah, wow,” she smiled back.

“Wow… this is the place?” Maria asked. She had expected the place to be nice but not extremely classy as well as extremely gigantic. Inside was a magnificent lounge with a glow that caused everything to turn into a golden color. The building had two levels and the chandelier at the very top that glowed a light and illuminate purple. The light hard wooden floors were beautiful and in the middle of the first floor was a big deep red carpet. A large rounded table was placed on it along with strong wooden chairs. Sofas and booths were placed all around its side's. On the second floor was a huge balcony that looked over the entire place. The cathedral walls added to the sanctuary like place.

“Come on, we’ll go to the Madeira Suite. Its like the VIP area,” Max smiled before taking Liz’s hand and leading her to the stairs. When they had entered into the building the guy that worked there had made Max put on a black jacket that was lightly penned stripped. He looked extremely handsome especially since he was still wearing that puck rock t-shirt underneath it.

Michael to say didn’t need to put on one of their customary jackets since he was already wearing a suit. He’d already taken off the hate and thrown it away since he hated it anyways. He and Maria followed Max and Liz up the huge stairs and up to the beautiful suite. Maria and Liz kept looking at the new antique art that was hung up everywhere. The place was simply breath taking.

Max and Michael smiled when they finally walked up the stairs and into the suite and realized that nobody else was up there. The view was fantastic as they took the table that was right next to the balcony. They could practically see everything that was going on in the first floor.

“Hey Tommy, tell you what we won’t need any service tonight,” Max reassured the waiter as he slipped into the booth.

“Okay, well just help yourselves at the bar, and if you need anything else just let me know,” he said with a node before going back downstairs leaving the entire VIP room to themselves.

“This is by far the most beautiful place in New York,” Liz said with a big smile on her face. Max watched the amazement on her face with a smile. The look on her face was like a child seeing something remarkable for the first time.

“It definitely beets the view from our building,” Maria smiled across the table.

“So I really had a great time tonight Alex. I haven’t had this much fun in… well I’ve never had this much,” Isabel smiled up at him as she messed with her keys outside her door. She’d been dodging this part of the night. It was the part of the night where they had to separate ways.

“Me too… me too,” he smiled.

“Listen Alex, no matter what it may seem like… I’m sure I’ve got the rap for dating a lot of guys but uhm… I don’t usually have serious relationships but…” she started with hesitant breath.

“Oh,” he nodded simply while looking down at the ground.

“But I was hoping that maybe… we could do this again sometime. I mean… I do really like you Alex,” she smiled with her eyes looking at any where other than him.

“Really?” he asked.

“Yeah, really,” she finally got the courage to look up at him. He nodded his head with a huge grin on his face that made Isabel just laugh again before pushing open the door to her room.

“Alright… I’ll see ya. Happy Halloween Alex,” she smiled

“Happy Halloween Isabel, and by the way I like your costume,” he smiled while walking slowly backwards.

“I don’t know how festive it is...” she retorted with a quirk.

“Well, you’ve certainly bewitched me Isabel Evans,” he said coolly and gave her a huge grin before turning around and leaving a starry eyed Isabel gazing at him as he left. He waited before he got to his room to yell and shout out his excitement. He couldn’t believe that he had just swept Isabel Evans off of her feet.

“So why'd they name this place The Providence?” Liz asked Max quietly who was currently sitting closely next to her. Maria and Michael were on the other side having there own little conversation.

“Well, this very place used to be a church,” he informed her. His arm lightly was around her and resting on the back of the booth.

Liz raised her eyebrow and asked, “Really?”

“Uh huh, from the 1920’s to… 1969 I think. I’m not sure. I’m a little rusty on my history, but anyways soon after that they actually made this place into a recording studio,” he smiled into her eyes.

“Okay now you’re playing with me,” she smiled and gave him a pretend studious face.

“No I’m not… I can if you want me to though,” he smiled back as he leaned into her. She didn’t hesitate when she felt his lips on hers and sighed quietly when she tasted the familiar spiciness.

They pulled away when they heard some laughing from across the table, “What are you two laughing about?” Liz asked.

“Oh, nothing I was just telling Michael about San Francisco,” Maria laughed with Michael.

“Tell me is table dancing your favorite hobbies, or do you girls just do that for fun?” Michael leaned back with his arm around a laughing Maria.

“Oh god, I need something to drink,” Liz laughed as she go up and walked to the bar from part embarrassment.

“Me too,” Maria said as she hoped off the booth and ran over to Liz and gave her a big hug, “so what do you think?”

“What do I think about what?” Liz asked with a smile.

“About our boys over there. Do ya think they’re keepers?” she asked as they both watched Max and Michael joke around about something.

“Well, they sure keep us entertained,” she smiled back.

“That they do. That they do.”

Hey guys! Thank you so much for all the feed back. I am so sorry for the lack of posts but as we all know life is hecktic.
Okay for a final note I made a mistake in a few chapter's back. MAX doesn't have Liz as a hitter! I realized it when I remembered Michael had Liz as his mark. So I've changed the chapter that had the mistake. Anyways I'm sorry for the mistake it can get kind of complicated who has who as a hitter when its constantly changing.

Okay Now go read I order you to

Chapter 8- Don't ask... don't tell

They laughed as they walked towards their building in the cold middle of the night. Their fits of laughter and chuckles could be heard echoing through out the streets of New York. “Okay Maria maybe Michael should be in front of you, ready to hold you back if we bump into that cheerleader agian,” Liz joked as they entered inside the doors.

“Yeah, and maybe, just a precaution, we should cover your face so cops don’t recognize the girl that made a slip and slide out our entire building,” Maria returned in a smart-ass tone.

“I believe disturbing the peace is a federal crime too Maria,” Liz pointed out smugly.

“The girl’s gotta point,” Michael agreed with lop sided smile.

“Shut up! You’re suppose to be on my side Michael,” she said as she slapped him over the head, “What the hell is that music?”

They stopped dead in their tracks and listed to the music. Institute’s “Ambulances” was playing through out the entire building as clear as day. It was a deep, rock song that one could get lost into yes, but what was it doing playing through out the speakers of the building?

“It’s for the game,” Zan returned as he walked down the R.A.’s meeting pad, “their trying to get everyone into the killing mood and get yawl all unnerved and shit.”

This staying alive can kill you
It's taken years off of my life
I build my world within you…

“Humph, well it’s working,” Maria returned while her eyes lifted towards the speakers as she listened to the lyrics.

“So Evans you wouldn’t know where that sister of yours is would ya?” he raised an eyebrow.

“What do I look like her keeper?” he returned as he crossed his arms and starred him straight in the eyes. Max didn’t want to admit it, but jealousy was pulling at him whenever Zan was around Liz.

But loneliness comes
Can't cure, you're iodine
The world is better for your grace

“Chill duke, just play’n my part,” before backing away from the group with his hands up mockingly and turned around with a cocky smile.

“Why do I feel like I’m stuck in some over used, teen horror movie?” Maria asked as if ignoring the words that had been exchanged between Max and Zan.

All the laughter died down when Alex Whitman walked into the corridor who was currently Michael’s killer mind you. “Alex,” Liz smiled forcefully. Something was about to go down by the way Alex was starring at Michel. He had this look like something had finally snapped into place or that he had just figured some mystery or something to the effect.

“Michael? Michael... What’s your last name?” Alex asked him skeptically as he slowly reached for his back pocket.

Lora, a tall brunette with short hair, was yet another one of the cheerleaders and had just walked into the hallway. She stopped mid tracks when she glanced up at Max. “Max Evans?” she asked as she studied him slowly.

“Maybe,” Max answered with caution. Why did he have the sudden feeling he was endanger of a hit and run? The next thing he heard was Liz’s inhale of breath and then the words, “Get down!”

Alex had already pulled his gun out of his pocket and ready to take his shot, but Maria was faster as she clasped his arm and started to run to the elevator. Liz and Max were close behind him.

There are only so many ambulances
To go around
There are only so many accidents
It's the universe coming down

“Come one! Come on!” Maria said in a hurry after she had pushed the elevator floor a thousand times. Alex and Lora were now running toward their marks in a fast pace. A few more seconds and they would have them. Just then the door ringed and shut before either one of them could get a shot. The group could hear a pounding on the door in frustration from one of the two hitters.

Liz and Michael let out a long breath when they thought they were home free. That was until they heard Maria speak, “Oh, I don’t think were safe yet kitties. My bet is they both took the stairs. We’re gonna to have to make a run for it.”

“Am I the only one who thinks this game is getting way to serious?” Liz asked as she watched the elevator’s level number change.

Ding! They held their breaths as the elevator’s door opened wide. When they didn’t see anyone in the hall, Michael slowly walked out first into the eerie hall. It was completely abandoned and not a single soul could be seen. To add to the Halloween atmosphere, the R.A.s had decided to turn off the light in the halls and put on smoke machines in each corridor. The fog and the purple flashing lights above really put out a ghostly vibe.

Not trying to kill you
It's just proof of life

“Okay this is definitely too far,” Liz restated her statement as Max put a protective arm in front of her. She wasn’t the one needing protection, but she thought it was still sweet altogether.

“Jeez, that freaking song is playing through out the entire building,” Maria swore.

“Michael and I’ll go first,” Max whispered as he started to take a step out of the elevator.

“Max, you and Michael are the ones who need protection not us,” she whispered as she held her grip on him. He glanced up at Michael and they both gave Liz and Maria the look that told them that their male egos weren't going to budge.

“Ugh, you males and your superiority complexes!” Maria stated with a tight face and a roll of her eyes.

“Maria! For once just do what I say,” Michael argued as he pulled her behind him so fast that she made a big noise out of the mouth.

“Watch where your hands grab me pale. Just because your being hunted like a dog doesn’t mean you can grope whatever you…” she started but was stopped.

“Maria shut up I heard a noise,” Liz whispered tightly.

They slowly creped out farther from the elevator until they were a good ten feet away from it. The fog was making it somewhat difficult to see, but they could still see where they were going enough not to bump into too many things.

“BOO!” Lora yelled as she came out of nowhere and pulled her blue water gun out and aimed straight for Max. Liz pushed Max out of the way and pulled him around the corner in opposite direction from where Michael and Maria were going.

Not trying to kill you
One day at a time

Liz and Max stopped dead in there tracks when they heard a loud and shrilling scream. “That wasn’t Maria,” Liz warned in horror.

“Come on,” Max whispered as he pulled her into the direction of the stairs, “We’ll find them later.”

Her breath started to increase when they entered into the stairwell. It was completely pitch black. She could mildly make out the stair a few floors below but other than that, they would have to feel their way downward. They didn’t even know if someone was down there. Lora could be at the bottom of the stairs waiting for them for all they knew.

“I’ll go first,” he volunteered.

“Shit, I think we should find Liz and Max, Michael,” she whispered to him as they kept on walking through the creepy hallway.

“Hey, it’s every man for himself,” he spoke back while leading the way.

I'm not trying to kill you
It's just moves of life
Not trying to kill you
One day at a time

“Dame why did we stop at this floor. We could ave made a run towards my room for cover, but I’m about two floors down,” Michael swore, “If we head for the elevator, somebody’ll here us.”

Maria screamed when she bumped into somebody and saw a florescent colored gun pointed in her face. “Darlene?” Maria squeaked.

“Who do you have?” she asked quickly.

“Put your gun down Darlene,” Michael ordered as his gun was now pointed at here.

“Who do you have Maria?” she asked again sternly as she eyed Michael.

“I’m disqualified Darlene. I don’t have anyone,” she tried to explain with her hands up in the air.

“What about your boy toy?” she asked suspiciously as she turned her attention towards Michael.

“I’ve got Liz Parker. See!” he proved as he pulled out the envelope, “ Now once again put down your gun Darlene.”

She hesitated for a moment before the blond turned down her gun. “Okay,” she houghed before apologizing, “Sorry about that. It’s just you don’t know who to trust around here you know?”

“It’s fine. Actually we’re sort of on the run ourselves. Alex Whitman’s got Michael as a mark,” Maria explained.

Darlene nodded her head before speaking up, “Tell ya what, Maria you give me the keys to your dorm and you can have the ones to mine. That way when the killers come looking for us they’ll have the wrong person. Plus we'll actually get a decent nights sleep.”

“Sounds good to…” Maria started but stopped when she heard slow footsteps behind them.

“Damn run,” Darlene told them as she threw Maria the keys. She caught them quickly and ran even faster when she caught sight of Alex.

“Come on!” Maria yelled at Michael as she practically grabbed and dragged him across the floor.

Liz screamed when a pair of hands grabbed her by the wrist. She made no effort to look at the face only rushed down the stairs to try and find Max. She had some how lost him in the dark.

Pushing the door heavily, she ran as far as her legs could muster. She screamed when she felt another pair of hands grab and pull her into a room before slamming the door. She took a deep breath when she found him in front of her. His eyes were dark as hunger grew within them.

She sighed and grabbed him closely when she felt his lips on hers. Maybe it was the adrenaline or just the excitement from getting chased, but there was something incredibly sexy in the air that made her grab his belt and come crashing into her. She felt so hot right now that she felt like she and he would burn each other alive from the heat coming off of their bodies.

He groaned and lifted her up without difficulty before pushing her against the wall roughly. Grabbing her thigh as she grinded her hips into his, he felt out of control with the passion. There weren’t enough words to describe how much he wanted her. There were simply no words.

She feeds off desire
She's in me
To worlds I'd never guessed

“Max…” she breathed.

He grunted into her neck as he heard his name whispered hotly in his ear. Without thought he lifted her higher where her legs were now wrapped around his waist before putting her down on the bed.

Sucking on her neck roughly, Max slid perfectly above her as his hand cupped her cheek in a passionate caress. He stopped touching her and lifted his head to see her eyes before swallowing and asking, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

I am sure she'll be with me until the very end
There are only so many ambulances
Less you ask the more you see

Maria, who now laid on the bed as Michael hovered above, breathed heavily in anticipation. She didn’t under stand it, but getting chased around by killers had gotten her all hot and bothered. It seemed Michael didn’t have a problem with it either though. As he looked at her every curve, she was itching for him to kiss her.

He slid up to her and looked her straight in the eyes. He smiled when he noticed the hazy look on her face. It was good to know that she was as effected by him as he was by her. The amazing thing was, he wasn’t the type to fall quickly or even at all, but Maria was… different.

Oh, life can be so unwell
Oh, speeding between heaven and hell
Oh, lately there's been so much to tell

Are you sure you want to do this,’ he laughed at himself. Did he actually ask that? He wanted this so badly that it hurt. But if she asked him, he would stop.

Her hand slid down his chest and slipped under his shirt. He groaned when he felt her sweet hand caress his abs. “Liz if were going to stop… then we have to stop…” he spoke before a flash of light shocked them both up.

Liz covered her ears when the loud fire alarm blaring in their ears. The backed up generators came on which was a florescent green. “What the f…” Max started until he heard people outside yelling in the halls.

“Jane what in the world is going on?” Liz yelled over the loud alarm as she saw her walking towards the exist like everyone else.

“Somebody pulled the fire alarm, but at least the sprinkler lights didn’t come on,” she half smiled before adding, “I personally think on of the hitters pulled it to get everyone out of the building!”

“Mother of Troy! What the hell is going on?” Maria yelled as she ran towards them with a very tussled Michael behind her.

“What in the world have you guys been doing?” Liz asked as she eyed them. Maria’s shirt was all tangled and Michael had only his whit button up shirt that was all ready unbuttoned at the top.

“Don’t ask. Don’t tell,” Michael retorted as he ran his hand through his shaggy hair.

Max laughed nervously and said, “Hell same goes for us as well.”

Liz’s small smile completely disappeared when she looked across the wall. “Oh my God!” she breathed in horror.

I hope you enjor the ending. Hasta manana! 8)

Chapter 9- frustration in the stacks

The group of kids turned all at once to hold in their breaths from the horror that lay before them. They all stood there dumb founded with clinched, sweaty hands at what was on the wall. “Who in the world would do this?” Maria breathed as trimmers shook her body.

There in front of them in illuminating green paint spray were names of the people in the building. Some of the them were crossed out others were still on the list... or rather still alive. Liz finally realized what the names meant when she saw Maria and Isabel’s names crossed out. “It’s a death list,” Liz whispered at the thought.

“A death list?” Maria whispered back, “I… this has gone way to far. Zan! You get your arrogant ass out here right NOW!”

“I don’t think this was Zan, Maria,” she warned.

“Are you kidding me? Scarring the crap out of people and spray-painting the walls in the dark? This has Zan written all over it!” she exclaimed as her.

“Zan or not, I think we should get the hell out of here,” Max reminded as he looked through the now empty hallways. It was extremely eerie now that no one was screaming around them. The green hit list on the walls didn’t help either. What was worse was that he could have sworn he’d seen a dark figure scurry across one of the halls behind them.

“I don’t know about you guys, but being trapped in some Scream wanna be movie wasn’t supposed to be the highlight of my night; so, let’s all get out of here!” Maria insisted before Michael took control and grabbed her hand towards the exit sign.

They stopped dead in their tracks when they opened the exit door and entered into the silent, secluded, and dark hallway down the spiraling stairs. “Oh hell no!” Maria refused with her hands up in the air and turning straight around, “I am not going down there!

“Maria we have to go down there. It’s the only way out!” Liz said as she tried to shake some since into her.

“Liz! Have you ever seen a horror movie before! The helpless, cute girls ALWAYS die!” she exclaimed before every one of them shushed her to be quiet. Michael even resorted to putting a hand over her mouth to shut her up.

“Maria we’re not in a freaking movie. Were just in our dorm house. Get a grip!” Liz said as her hands shook Maria’s shoulders at last attempts to slap some sense into her.

“I’m. Not. Going!” she said with out a budge, “We’ll just take the elevator.” And as if on signal, eerily the elevator doors dinged and opened ever so slowly as if it was the ride to hell itself!

“Well, you sure as hell got your wish Maria,” Liz whispered with wide eyes towards the considerably bright elevator lights. Everything else was so dark that it gave the metal machine a strange glow that could give any brave soul the chills.

After a few moments of silence, Maria spoke carefully, “Well, what are we still standing here for?” even though the tone in her voice suggested no excitement about getting into that elevator. When no one answered, she shoved Michael ahead of the group.

“What are you pushing me for? You’re the princess that insisted on taking the elevator,” he whispered tightly.

“Ugh, this is ridiculous!” Max said finally with exasperation before taking the lead towards the elevator. With a straight posture he started to eye the hallways, and finally he made his way into the elevator with Liz.

Once Michael and Maria were inside, and the doors had closed Liz whispered, “See that wasn’t so bad.” As soon as the words were spoken, screams filled the elevator as it stopped in mid motion as the lights blinked on and off before they officially went dead!

A moment of scary silence afterwards filled the compartment before a strong slap filled the elevator followed by an ecstatic Maria, “What do you think you’re doing Michael!”

“I was looking for the emergency button,” Michael defended.

“Well, it isn’t in my top!” she screeched.

“Can you two just stop bickering for one single second?” Liz said in exasperation once the red button was found and pushed.

“NO!” they both yelled back when suddenly the elevator shrieked and made a strange noise unrecognizable.

“What was that?” Maria whispered.

“I don’t know Maria why don’t you go up there and find out. I’ll hold your purse while you’re up there,” Liz whispered back tightly with extreme sarcasm.

“Oh very funn…” she started but it drastically turned into a scream as the elevator started to spiral down in fast pace as everyone gripped the railing and held on tight with clinched eyes. They could even feel the elevator pick up speed the longer they passed down the floors of stairs. They all knew they were going to hit the ground soon, and it was for certain that it wasn’t going to be a smooth landing.

The elevator came to screeching halt and stopped a minute before it hit the ground in a thud leaving all the passengers shocked and still in its tight passages. And just when they thought the shocking night was over, the door opened slowly and quietly. Breaths were held and mouths were dropped from the four college students when the door was completely opened.

Half of the building was now in front of them standing with smirking smiles that were from ear to ear. Zan, who was at the front, stood there with a satisfied and as always arrogant grin on as he crossed his arms enjoying the entertaining view.

“Zan what’s…?” she started but never finished as it all clicked together in Liz’s mind before a familiar brunette cheerleader was in the crowd.

“Congratulation guys,” she said with a smile as Alex walked up next to her with an evil grin, “You’ve just been eliminated.”

“And killed,” Alex added before they both pulled out there guns and aimed for their targets before the cold and chilling water hit all four of them harshly.

Isabel came up to front with Zan, Alex, and Lora with a laughing smile plastered on her face. She didn’t even try to hide the outrageous humor in the scene as her arm lifted up onto Zan shoulder in ease.

“Happy Halloween cornballs,” he laughed, “Happy Halloween.”

2 months later- December and 2 days till finals…

“Dame it!” Maria yelled as she pounded her hand on the desk in aggravation before a dozen kids around them shushed her. Liz just shook her head as her feet were propped up on the large circled library table that Isabel, Alex, Max, Maria, and Michael were all around.

“God I hate finals,” Isabel breathed as she ran her fingers through her hair.

“Yeah, you and every student on this campus,” Michael said with a scratch of his head and leaned back finally closing his eyes with a lack of energy.

“I don’t suppose anybody knows what the double entandra is for War and Peace do they?” Max asked in exasperation as he rubbed his eyes while hunched over his English lit. book.

“War and Peace! We had to read material over War and Peace?” Maria asked shockingly.

“Tell me you were in class when we went over that,” Liz replied cautiously. Maria closed her eyes and faked crying while dropping her head on her book with a thud.

Ever since Halloween they had formed into this really close group. It was strange since it was only a year ago when they hadn’t even known each other, but nonetheless or for better or worse, Halloween had been worth all the scares and screams that night.

“I swear my brain can’t take anymore information. I’ve probably read the same paragraph ten times now, and yet I have no idea what its about,” Alex swore next to Isabel as his arm was draped around her.

A college student turned around exasperated and said with a snotty voice, “Tell it to Dr. Phil or Opera, but until they show up. Keep it to yourself opy!”

“Oh shut up!” Liz complained back at him.

“That’s it I need a break. Michael you’re coming with me,” she said suggestively. Michael didn’t hesitate or needing to be asked more than once as he gathered his books and followed her a bit faster than was needed.

“Ten bucks says they end up on the third floor making out,” Isabel rolled her eyes.

Liz smiled and made an entertained sound before saying, “Do you know how many students have been caught up there during examines.” For some unknown reason, examines made people crazy and effected them in different ways. Some would crack during desperate times of studying and would end up running out of their chair and start screaming through the hallways with their insanity. In fact there had already been two that day, but Liz suspected that she would see at least a couple of others before the night was over. Some students would stay locked up in their dorms like a prison, and others would pull all of their excessive energy into… their special someone. Where did these couples go to relieve the stress one might wonder? The answer was the third floor stacks.

Liz looked up when she heard an angry Isabel slam her book closed. “Psychology… Isabel I’ve helped you through this entire semester. You know this stuff,” Alex said dumb founded to find her struggling with the class.

“Lay off Alex. I gotta take three of my finals in twenty-eight hours, and I can’t remember every single thing that happened in history and mythology and physics, and let alone remember everything that whack Freud made up just to screw with the human race! There’s only so much I can put into my head!” she exclaimed. Max started to sit up and pay special attention to his sister, because she was starting to loose it and fast.

“Isabel I’m just saying…” Alex started but received an even more frustrated Isabel by his side. In one swift manner she grabbed her bag and books from the table.

“That’s it I can’t take this library anymore. I’m going crazy!” she huffed as she started to leave.

“Izzy where are you going?” Liz asked as her feet fell from the table.

“I’m going somewhere else to study, and I’ll kill any of you if you follow me. Any of you,” she pointed out before walking towards the spinning doors.

“Wow,” Max said with a dumb struck look on his face.

“Wow? More like psychotic,” Alex swore. He had had to deal with her this entire week, and anyone who knew Isabel knew that she could get a little out of hand from time to time. Liz imagined she was driving him crazy by now. It only took a few more moments until Alex got up and followed the hysterical Isabel despite her warning of wanting to be alone.

Liz just shook her head and laughed. She didn’t even realize that Max was now staring at her. She simply looked back at her book and sighed heavily. He and she were now the only ones at the desk. It was getting pretty late too. Even the library was starting to get a little empty of college students.

She looked up surprised when she felt Max’s foot from across the table nudging her foot sweetly. He smiled and sat up straighter in his chair with a mischievous grin. She had a pretty good idea what he was thinking, and she hated the fact that she couldn’t deny that charming smile. It didn’t mean she could put up a good fight. These exams were a major part of her grade.

“Don’t even think about,” she warned even as a smile pulled on her lips.

“Don’t tell me it hasn’t crossed your mind during all the time we’ve been in here,” he leaned over with his arms crossed on the table.

“We’ve got examines in less than…” she said before looking at her watch, “Twenty hours till examines officially start. The only way you’re going to get some is if you can stop time.”

He raised his eyebrow at the comment as if an idea had struck him. “Stop time huh?” he whispered before reaching over the table and gently picking up her wrist that had the watch on it. He turned the time back exactly two hours before picking up his and her books. “Two hours should be enough time,” he mumbled with a small smile.

“Max,” she refused, “… enough time for what?”

“What do you think?” he said with wickedness filling his eyes while holding his hand out to her. She looked up at his hand and then back at him before sighing and giving up finally.

“Just for two hours?” she asked him to promise.

“Well… we’ll play it by ear,” he grinned.

“Maria,” Michael whispered against her neck as thumb grazed against her cheek. She breathed hard as raspy moans fell from her lips and escaped from the air as her body burned with fire deep in her stomach. His touch created flames on her skin as she gripped his shirt and tried to be silent from the sensations.

“Michael, we shouldn’t… we… what about finals?” she asked lamely she could feel the smile against her neck. His hand snaked up under the him of her shirt and caressed her stomach.

“Are you really worried about finals?” he asked not buying any of it. He continued to kiss her neck and smiled triumphantly when she made a torched sound.

“Yes I am,” she answered with little fight as her hands weekly pushed him away. He didn’t budge.

“Are you sure?” he asked as he was now taunting her with his thumb grazing under the tip of her jeans.

“Yes,” she moaned hotly as her head fell back in pleasure.

“Okay,” he breathed before he stopped his ministrations and started to away from the private corner. She groaned in frustration and grabbed him by the color and stole a heavy kiss before he laughed and pushed her against the bookshelves. “Come back here,” she whispered kissing him again. He didn’t stop her but grabbed her closer to his overheated body.

“Isabel would you wait up… come on, you know I was only trying to help,” he defended while chasing her through New York City.

“Stop following Alex. I don’t care! Just leave me alone until finals are over okay?” she stubbornly stated.

“No damn it! Izzy everything’s going to be okay…” he started.

“Alex,” she turned around and looked him straight in the eye, “Just leave me alone for awhile. Please! It’s not you; it’s me. I get like this all the time during finals. So it’s best for you to just… stay away from me for a little while.”

“Isabel… what are you saying? That I can’t come to see any more?” he asked completely confused.

“Just… for a little while, until exams are over. Okay?” she pleaded.

Alex watched her and stood dumb founded on the street. Finally he got the will to speak, “yeah… yeah just ah… tell me when seeing me again is good for you,” he didn’t say it angrily nether sadly. He tried to put up a brave front, but Isabel could easily see the hurt in his eyes.

“Alex…” she started.

“No, it’s fine. I’ll just leave you alone now,” he answered coldly before turning around and walking into the other direction.

She sighed heavily and walked slowly into their building.

Chapter 10- Better days

She whimpered at the hot contact against her stomach as his hands grazed against her. They were both in heavy breathing as Max yelled her against one of the library stacks. There was no one on the floor and not a soul could be heard except them.

“Liz,” he groaned as she pushed him down to a chair and straddled his lap hungrily. Just the heated and black look in her eyes made him want to have her right then and there. They had of yet to sleep with each other. They’d gotten pretty heavy of course, but never really went completely through. And the neglect added with exams was enough for them to forget that they were still in the library.

Her fingertips lightly grazed against his muscles of his arm. It was pure torture… her sweet and gentle touches against his hard body… pure torture.

Grabbing her hips, he pushed her closer to him as he constantly felt still too far away from her. He craved this girl in the most insane ways. His hand caressed down to her leg and brought it closer and holding it there as he rubbed his thumb in circles against her thigh.

His other hand slid up her waist and reached for her warm face as her cheeks were flushed when his fingertip slid against her hot skin and cupped her face in his big hand. His palm grazed sensually against her ear as he dipped his head to her neck and sucked her soft skin.

She whimpered helplessly as he sucked over her pulse that was beating boundlessly faster. As her lips sought out his, he sucked her bottom lip into his mouth slowly and carefully and slipped his tongue flicked out and caressed her swollen and breathless lips. “God how can you feel this good?” he moaned that it was almost out of this world from how much he wanted her, “You have no… no idea how good…”

She whimpered and unconsciously rubbed her hips against his as a painful groan fell from Max’s lips. His had held her hips there, refusing to let her move. He didn’t know how much more could take. She was so tempting, so tempting…

Liz’s hand fell to the low part of his abdomen as her fingertips went under his shirt and grazed his belt. He inhaled sharply when he felt her soft, small hand touch just below his belt. “Liz, I…” he started before her other hand came up to his lips softly and stopped him from saying anything else.

He gave up completely and let his head roll back helplessly when her hand caressed lower under his belt. She took his hand and roughly put it to her breast. He grabbed her neck fastly loosing control and sucked hard above her pulse. The place he knew just drove her crazy, and the noises she made at the action made him go incredibly crazy.

Hugging her hips closer to him so that every part of their lower bodies were touching, his hand slid around her back and slid under her shirt to caress her soft tanned back with his rough and gentle hands. Oh god, she wasn’t wearing a bra as his hand slipped higher and didn’t come into contact with anything else but her smooth, heated skin. “Liz…” he groaned.

“Oh my go…”

They turned found a candy vender stare at them with a completely shocked face. They froze as Liz head was buried in Max’s neck from embarrassment. Max just sat there simply helpless in front of the stranger.

The girl simply paused with almost scared eyes before saying shakily, “Candy?”

Liz laughed uncontrollably.

“Clarity of mind means clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves,” Zan read over Isabel’s shoulder, “Intrest’n.”

“What do you want Zan?” she asked irritatingly.

“Ah, I thought you’d be happy to see me especially the way you were step’n out from Alex,” he said with a raised eyebrow while sitting down next to her. She looked at him questioningly as to how he knew.

“You guys were pretty loud from the sidewalk, doll. I think the whole right side of the dorm heard ya,” he quirked.

“Still, you should mind your own business. Why are you here anyways? Shouldn’t you be trying to get into my roommates pants? ,” she countered.

“Nah, your brother’s got way to much of the hots for her. It’s not my style to steal,” Zan explained as he popped a grape into his mouth.

“Could’ve fooled me,” she turned to look him straight in his eyes.

“You’re changing the subject. Why are you keeping distance from Alex? He seems like an okay guy. He’s an opy but still a good guy,” Zan inquired.

“I just… don’t need any distractions right now,” she defended.

“Right, so you’re avoiding him just cause you your focusing on exams,” he smiled not believing one single word.

“Yes,” she put up with bravado.

“Isabel, I know I’m just your RA but… ya can talk to me if you need to,” he said seriously, “I was just curious… this don’t have nothing to do with trusting guys does it?”

“I… what no. No of course not. No,” she insisted but got yet another raised eyebrow from him.

“Isabel, he ain’t a bad guy. I really think ya can trust him,” he promised. Sighing once his cell phone went off, he got up and said his goodbye to leave Isabel in thought. She wasn’t distancing herself from him because of her past relationships … was she?

Maria started to laugh when she bumped against the miniature Christmas tree next to one of the shelves. They weren’t on third floor, so there was more of a chance of them getting caught. A couple of minutes ago they had gotten it together and had both agreed to study, but then the next thing they knew their hands had collided into one another when they both reached out for the same book on a shelf.

“Maybe it’s not a good idea that we study together,” she tried to control the situation.

“Hmm, what are you going to do, study with Liz and Max who have already got missing? Their probably doing the same thing we are. You worry to much,” he smiled before tempting her with a kiss.

“Wow, looks like you guys have thought of other ways to cool down from exams,” a voice laughed.

Maria and Michael pulled apart immediately but let out an easy breath once they realized who it was. “Yeah, well you two were MIA for long time two. I suppose you’re going to tell me you guys were just ‘studying privately’ on the third floor. You’re not that innocent Liz,” Maria countered.

“Where’s Isabel and Alex?” Michael ignored.

“Isabel had a nervous breakdown and left. Alex followed her,” Max chipped in with his arm around Liz.

“I don’t know about you guys but I think we’ve had enough studying for the night,” Maria returned.

Studying, is that what you call it?” Liz asked dirtily.

Alex sighed as he kept looking for Isabel in the hallways. Being distracted by her wasn’t helping he cop with exams. He was completely preoccupied thinking about what he’d done to make her push away all of the sudden.

“Hey Alex,” Liz laughed as she, Max, Maria, and Michael came off the elevator together.

“Hey,” he tried to smile from his seat in the floor’s lounge.

“You okay?” Max asked as they all sat down together.

When he didn’t answer Liz guessed, “Isabel?” He nodded nonchalantly. As if on queue Isabel stopped dead in her tracks in front of the whole group.

“Hey Iz,” Michael smiled smally while eyeing between she and Alex.

“Hey… I… I gotta go,” she said weirdly and walked off towards the bathroom.

Zan whistled at her disappearance and shook his head, “That girl is getting weirder and weirder every hour,” before his cell phone went off again.

“Alex, would go after all ready,” Liz commanded.

“She said she wanted some space,” he defended with his attention towards a book.

“Man, don’t you know that’s just a front,” Zan scoffed as he picked up his phone again.

Liz looked at him irritatingly before saying, “Look, maybe the only way you’ll know what’s wrong with her is if you ask Alex.”

“But…” he started.

“No more buts! Now get your butt over there and ask her for crying out loud!” Maria commanded with her finger pointed straight towards the bathroom. When he didn’t move from his chair, Liz yelled, “GO!” and pushed him off into the direction with a scared look on his face.

Liz got aggravated the last time when Zan’s cell phone went off again before grabbing it from him and throwing it into a glass of water in front of him with satisfied smile on her face.

“What the hell?” Zan exclaimed. She smiled bigger while the rest laughed it off with humor.

“Isabel?” Alex knocked before peaking his head in hesitantly. It was the girls’ bathroom after all. When he didn’t see any one he walked through confidently. He was done playing it safe. He was interested in Isabel but he would be pushed around.

She immerged from the stall and was wide eyed when she found Alex in the ladies bathroom. “What… what are,” she started.

“No, just let me talk first okay because I need to say something. I know I’m not the typical guy you go for but… I like you a lot, and I’m not going to apologize for it! I don’t know if this is just about exams or if its got something to do with our relationship, but damn it I’m your boyfriend and if you there’s something wrong then just tell me!” he finally finished.

He was completely shocked when she crashed a kiss on his lips. “Thank you,” she whispered.

“For what?” he asked clearly confused.

“For everything… for the things you said. I haven’t exactly had good boyfriends in the past and I just needed… I just needed to here that. I know I’ve been a pain, but I’m just not use to getting serious like this. I’m sorry,” she explained.

“Isabel, I care about you, but you don’t need to play these games. Okay?” he whispered. She nodded and hugged him with a big sigh.

“Oh, we just wanted to check on you guys, but ah… by the looks of things… we’ll just leave you two alone,” Liz laughed as she and Maria opened the door.

“Oh, would you two need to get your minds of out the gutters already! See that’s why you get caught in the library so much sucking face with my brother and his best friend,” she replied while throwing a roll of toilet paper at them.

They laughed harder and threw it back at them before leaving and making kissing noises outside the door childishly. Isabel laughed harder when she heard Maria say very loudly, “Hey by the way Alex, could you grab me a tampon while your in there.”

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

So the naturally when the frat party started to get boring we decided to go down to the basement where the Jacuzzi was,” Maria said after popping a fry into her mouth.

“Naturally,” Alex said with mocking seriousness as they shared stories around an empty restaurant.

“So we got down there, and since we didn’t really having bathing suits with us we stripped down to our underwear. So there we were three girls in barely nothing and the second,” she stopped in a fit of laughter, “I swear the second we got into the Jacuzzi, we here this loud yelling and stopping coming from upstairs and it’s getting louder and louder…” Maria stopped yet again to laugh with Isabel as they leaned on each other for support from their fits.

Liz just shook her head with an embarrassing look on her face while she tried to cover the smile that kept on sneaking out. “So… what happened?” Max asked questioningly with a smile.

“Well… one moment we were all alone and the next thing we know it the New York cops come busting down the door with flashlight and the whole thing. The worst thing was they were all old overweight cops staring at us from handcuffs to jail,” Liz finished before throwing a napkin at Isabel and Maria laughing even harder across the table.

“Shut up! It was so embarrassing,” Liz complained even though she couldn’t hide the smile on her lips.

Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

Maria laughed while trying to get a sentence out, “The worst thing was when they actually asked us ‘to spread’em.’ I mean come on we were in barely nothing, and they actually have the nerve to search us.”

“What the hell kind of party were you guys at?” Michael asked with a chuckle.

“It was just some frat house I swear. It turns out somebody was making a bon fire outside and apparently that’s illegal in New York… or at least the section we were in,” Isabel explained with a roll of the eyes and smile.

“You three are unbelievable you know that?” Alex shook his head.

“All right kitties, the time is… closing time,” the waiter said while cleaning the place up. The group grumbled because they knew that meant the night was almost over which meant they had finals tomorrow.

Liz shivered once they got outside from the sheer coldness of New York before Max took off his coat and smiled sweetly into her eyes which Liz did equally with just as much happiness.

So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again

“Man, just think in two days exams will be over and will all be scattered all around the country when we go back home,” Alex said with amazement clearly in his voice.

“Yeah… how weird is that?” Maria said with her arm around Michael’s waist as they walked down the silent streets with clear black skys above them.

“Hmm, it’s back to New Mexico for me,” Max commented.

“California for me,” Maria chipped in.

“Atlanta for me. Liz?” Alex asked.

“Vermont,” she answered shortly.

“Ottawa, Canada,” Michael said with a small smile.

“You’re from Canada?” Alex asked shockingly.

“Barely, it’s not too far away from New York though so…” he explained.

And it's someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And thats faith and trust and peace while we're alive

“Jeez, this year has really gone by fast huh?” Maria shook her head.

“No, kidding is seems like just yesterday that we were playing that hit man game,” Liz smiled. It smelled like Christmas in the air as she could even hear jingling bells from a distance.

And it's someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And thats faith and trust and peace while we're alive

“Oh, don’t even talk about that. I still have to take the stairs from my phobia about the elevator,” Maria complained before a few laughs followed.

“Oh come on it wasn’t that bad,” Alex laughed.

“You weren’t the one being chased down like an animal. I felt like a chicken or dear or something,” she eyed him.

“Well, you did fly down those stairs with grace,” Michael chipped in with laughter.

So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again

A day after finals…

The group laughed harder when Isabel threw a pillow at her brother as they sat around in the lounge of their dorm house blowing off steam now that finals were finally over.

“Hey guys you com’n?” Jane asked while walking past them and glancing over.

“Coming where?” Isabel asked confused with a smile.

“We’re playing a dorm room game. You up for it?” she raised an eyebrow.

They glanced at each other with grins before yelling, “Hell yes!”
