I see Max offer his arm to Tess and I smile. I really should be getting over this . . . thing I have been going through. He deserves to be happy. And it looks like Tess does this. They are both grinning with delight and it radiates between them. I would much rather have them both as friends than lose them over a petty crush.
I shove Kyle lightly and smile at him while we wait in the seventh floor lobby for an elevator. “That was for practically carrying me out of the office." He rolls his eyes at me and I laugh openly.
“So, where’s this restaurant that we are going to?” I ask the group. “And more importantly, who’s riding in what car?”
We all pile into the elevator before anyone answers.

Who's riding in what car, Liz asks. It's a good question. I look around the group for a moment as we walk out to the parking lot.
"Well, Maria's the only one who knows where we're going," Max says.
"Wrong. I got some directions this afternoon," Kyle says, waving three copies of a printout over his head. "Why don't I ride with you, Isabel? That way we can both be sure to get there."
"As if!" Isabel says, rolling her eyes. She snags one of Kyle's papers, and smiles. "I can manage on my own."
"Nobody drives my car but me," Maria insists, crossing her arms.
"Fine," Max agrees, as if he were in charge and she needed his permission. "You drive your car. Who's going to drive the van?"
I catch Kyle's eye and find that he's already leveling his gaze at me. But I'm not interested in driving the van again, either.
"Fine!" Liz says. "I still have the keys from this morning. I'll drive the van. Who's riding with me?"
"I guess I will," Alex says.
"I think I'll ride with Maria," I decide. Liz is nice, but she's obviously not interested. It's time I did something to break into this harem Max seems to be collecting.
"No, Max and Tess are riding with me," Maria says. Max and Tess both look slightly surprised at this, but they don't object.
"Then there's still room for me," I say, giving her my best Guerin smile. She must have missed it, because she didn't respond. "No, there's not," she insists. "Come on, guys."
Damn! "Oh well," I say aloud. "I guess Kyle and I will ride with you, Liz." There's really no other choice. Maria and Isabel are already halfway to their cars. Kyle doesn't seem to mind, but I really don't need to be in a car with two other guys, and one girl who is definately not interested in me.
Well, at least the ride will be short. Maybe my luck will change later.

When we get to Maria's Mexican place, there's a fifteen minute wait for tables. At least for a group as large as the eight of us. That's a good sign. People wouldn't be waiting in line unless the food was pretty good.
"I'll be right back, Tess," I tell her. "Save me a seat."
She smiles at me and promises, while I slip out and go next door to the car dealership. It takes a little longer than I'd hoped, but I soon have a weekly rental agreement for nice jeep.
When I get back, everyone's seated. Tess smiles as she sees me, and pats the bench besides her. I grin at her and slide in. "Everyone order yet?"
"Not yet," Tess tells me. "Here comes our waiter, now."
In a few minutes we're all savoring the spicy food and discussing our day. I can't help but notice how pretty Liz's smile is as she talks about the people she was able to talk to, and the plans she's making for our show. Tess touches my leg, under the table, and I try to suppress my grin. I had been kinda beat from the late night last night, but I'm sure I'll find a second wind for her. I'm looking forward to spending some one-on-one time and getting to know her a bit.
I look around the table, avoiding Alex's gaze. He's also doesn't seem to be looking in my direction. I still don't know what this morning was all about, but I'm not going to get into it now. I try for what I hope will be a safe topic.
"So, Isabel. How was your lunch date?"

"So, Isabel. How was your lunch date?" Max asks and I can't help but grin. I've been dying for someone to ask me about it since I got back. Its at times like this I really miss my girlfriends back home but oh well they are only a phone call away right so I can always given them a call later after my second date with Jake.
"It was unbelievable! Jake is just unbelievable! We had lunch at the Hilton! Can you
believe it the Hilton? I'm so glad that I decided to wear this dress instead of something
else. I know how embarrassing would it of been to turn up dressed in jeans or something? Beyond embarrassing. I would of just died. But you know it doesn't matter Jake is just so....." I sigh dreamily
"Unbelievable?" Michael asks raising an eyebrow.
"Incredible!" I finish with another dreamily sigh. "I want to have his babies!"
I glance down the table when I hear a choking sound, god I should know it would be Alex and Kyle doesn't look to impressed as he mops up the water Alex had just spat on him.
"Went down the wrong pipe!" Alex offers as a explanation. Sure it did. He is just so
strange. I thought they did checks on these people before they let them on the show.
Maybe Alex slipped through because he's kinda cute you know in that geeky kind of way.
"Are you ok Alex?" Liz asks
"Pfft he's fine." I say rolling my eyes "Anyway where was I?"
"You want to have his babies!" Tess reminds and I smile as I slip back into my happy day dream of Jake.
"Oh yeah, he's so great. We going on another date tonight. I'm so excited. I think he might be the one. I wonder where he’s going to take me. Somewhere romantic I bet, somewhere with…"
"But enough of Isabel's gag feast! Anyone else got some interesting news that doesn't involve how dreamy Jack is?" Michael says
"Jake!" I correct
"Jack, Jake whatever" Michael shrugs.
I roll my eyes, he's just jealous because there isn't any chance of him getting any action, any time soon!

After we've started eating I absently listen as Isabel goes on and on about her date with Jake, thats great, I am so happy for her! At least she'd had something good come out of being on this show. Plus Jake sounds like a complete match for Isabel from what she's said so far. I don't know about the whole babies thing I mean its only going to be her second date after all but you never know.
It seems like people are going to be having plans tonight, maybe I should make some too? I was going to go to a club or something but I could maybe get a hold of one of the guys and have them take me out someplace nice.
I know I don't want to be stuck inside for the second night, I am sure once the newness wears off we'll all be settling in and everything.

I can't help but roll my eyes at Isabel's over-the-top ramblings. You'd think this was the first guy she'd ever seen. Like, money and fancy restaurants are the only things that matter. I'm sitting right here, across the table, and she doesn't even see what she's missing.
"Jake, Jack, whatever," I say, because it really doesn't matter. Kyle starts to talk about some sports event he's attending at the end of the week for the station. He says he might be able to get some tickets for us, and my ears perk up.
"That would be great!" I say. Miami baseball's been pretty decent this season and the team they'll be playing isn't bad either. I could get into that. I wonder if I'll be asked to make up any posters.
Kyle's grinning, pleased at my response. "Yeah, I hope it works out. I'll keep you all posted."
"Please!" Isabel says, rolling her eyes. "As if I'd have any interest in baseball. You won't be seeing me there."
"Not even if Jake is there?" I ask.
She gives me a glare, but doesn't answer. I just smirk in return. All this talk about Jake the wonder-boy makes me think of Candy, the wonderful girl who's phone number I ruined when I jumped into the pool to rescue Maria. The conversation continues and I ignore it, turning to Maria. "Hey, Maria," I say quietly. "You gonna go back to that club again tonight? The one we went to yesterday?"
She shrugs. "I dunno. Maybe. You want to go?"
"Well, yeah." Hey, it's worth a try, right?
"Uh, I was gonna give Max and Tess a ride -"
"Forget them," I say, interupting. "Let them ride in the van." I don't need him coming along. I know Maria's been kinda falling all over him, and I hope she doesn't object.
"Well, okay," she says, smiling. She's actually kinda cute when she smiles.
"Good," I say, glad that it's settled. I don't know what the odds are that I'll see Candy again tonight, but it's certainly worth a shot.

It surprises me when Michael asks if I want to go to the club we went to last night.. I wouldn't have thought he'd want to, he didn't even seem to be a having a good time but I guess things change.
I guess I won't be giving Tess and Max a ride, not that it'll matter to them anyhow, I mean like they care right? Anyhow I am wondering if I should invited Liz or Kyle too.. I mean won't it be kind of rude if Michael and I just go?
Pushing my thoughts aside I glance around the restaurant.

Pfft baseball what completely rubbish, of course Jake wouldn't be interested in stupid baseball when he's got ME beside him. God, just thinking about baseball bores me to death.
I pity Maria having to spend the whole night out clubbing with Michael. Could anything be worst? Maybe I should try and save her from a fate worst then death but then again that would mean messing up my date with Jake. I don't really know Maria well enough just to drop everything and well you never know maybe her and Michael will end up getting on like a house on fire. And maybe I'll be made queen of England.
I catch Maria's eye as she looks in my direction and smile
"So Maria I was thinking that maybe we could go shopping! I really need some new clothes badly. And then I need matching shoes and bags. Maybe even more make up and boy I really need to go shopping! Are you in?" I ask hopefully. It would be so cool to go shopping with a girlfriend or at least the closest thing I got right now, I know Maria can't replace the girls back home but she can temp for them. Wow that sounds really bad even to me. Oh well at least I didn't say it out loud.
"Um well sure!" Maria says
"Great!" I smile brightly. "We can go after work. It will be so much fun." There's so much I need to get and of course Liz's birthday is coming up so I will have to get her something special.
"Sounds good!" Maria says smiling back.
"But anyway what is everybody who doesn't have a date doing tonight?" I ask raising an eyebrow as I look at Liz, Kyle and Alex
(Hope you don't mind Bre that I used Maria a little. I just thought it would be cool to have them bonding a little.)

I choke as Isabel says that she want's to have babies with that Jack/Jake guy. Well if she want's it that way fine.
"But anyway what is everybody who doesn't have a date doing tonight?" Isabel askes what looks like a smirk on her lovely face. I'm have to say something. I give Liz a apologetic look as I open my mouth.
"Liz and I are going to the movies" I say with a smile. Even if we end up going back to the house it will be fun with Liz.
