I'm trying extremely hard to keep the angst in this fic to a mere tid bit, but even fairytales have their fare share of angst. For those who are questioning Zan's behavior, just remember he did have Liz and Max's best interest at heart. With that note, let's get on with the story. Here's the new part, hope you will enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

Part 10

Liz awoke to a different view then she had the past few days. Blinking her eyes a few times to get more awake, she took in her surroundings.
The first thing she noticed was how much larger the room she had awoken up in was compared to her own quarters. The furniture looked very modern, like it was made of brass and chrome. But, she suspected it was made of some other worldly metals. There was a sitting area that had a couch with very large pillows on one side of the room. A large desk with a computer system sat on the other side. She could see a door that swung open to a large balcony on her right side and a triple full length mirror stood on her left. The room itself was decorated by someone who had good taste and a lot of money. Her hand roamed over the bed, the cover and sheets had a soft silky feeling to them. As her eyes continued to take in the room's view, they landed on the large chair in the corner. A chair that had a dress land over the top of it.
A dress that looked very similar to the dress Max had made for her. Lifting the soft covers, her eyes went completely wide. "Oh My God!"

Her mind raced with thought, where was she, what did she do, who's room had she spent the night in? So many questions, she remembered her fantasy evening with Max, she remembered her heart aching as she walked away from him. She remembered bumping into someone, walking with someone. Zan, oh no! I didn't, not with Max's brother. Liz yelled silently to herself. Of all the men in the universe how could she have betrayed Max with his own brother. Hanging her head in her hands as she pulled her legs tight into her chest.

When she heard the soft click of the door opening her head shot up as she pulled the covers up highly to cover her teddy laced body. "Morning sweets, I thought I heard you stirring around in here." Zan entered with a cheery voice, looking like he was already to start his day.

"Prince Alexander!" She exclaimed, her nightmare becoming real. It was true, she was in Zan's room, half naked and he called her sweets like they had been intimate or something. Little did she realize that Zan had a tendency to call all his female companion's, sweets when in private. Zan was very much the diplomat in public, but in private his bubbling personality made itself known.

Zan took in the look of panic that swept across her face and knew exactly what she had to be thinking. He could only imagine what was going through her head at this very minute. Her waking up in his bed, her dress no longer on her body. If she didn't look like she was going to cry at the thought, he would have considered playing with her mind just a little before he explained the truth. But, his mind thought of his brother and how much this woman meant to him. In his heart he couldn't be that cruel. So he hurried with his explanation of why she was in his bed. "Elizabeth, please relax. You did not betray my brother."

"What?" Her head finally looking up at him again after she had lowered it in humiliation at the thought that she had betrayed Max. But, Zan's words made her wonder how it was possible that he knew exactly what she had been thinking. "I don't understand. How did I end up in your bed...half naked?"

Zan let out a hearty laugh, the irony of the situation too funny to hold it in any longer. "That my sweets would be due to the Antarian wine you downed before giving me a chance to explain the effects of our fine wine." At her puzzled look, Zan explained the difference between Antarian wine and Earth's alcohol. He then told her why he had put her in his bed in lieu of carrying her back to her own room. He also added his reasoning behind removing her dress and swore that he was a perfect gentleman. By the time he was finished with his explanation, Liz felt slightly better. "Now, you want to tell me what my knuckle head bro did that made you so upset to begin with last night."

Lowering her eyes once again, she whispered out. "He made me fall in love with him." Speaking the truth, but withholding the entire truth.

Zan smiled brightly, he had known this woman was the first woman to ever have an effect on his brother and hearing her admit that Max had gotten to her too, he couldn't help but smile. But, that didn't answer why she had been so upset. If anything, he would have thought the two of them would have been smiling so hard it would have been sick to have to watch. "And that made you upset, because?" Leaving his question opened at the end for her to fill in the blank.

Fresh tears filled her eyes as she turned her head from him and whispered softly. "Because, I'm not his match."

Realization came to Zan instantly. Max's secret experiment to find his perfect match so he could gain the throne and the power of the Granolith. Fury raged within his soul at the thought that his brother would be so power hunger, he would turn the only woman that had turned his head in his entire life just so he could be King. It all became so clear to Zan. Max wanted to be King, wanted the power and when Ms. Parker had made him feel something that no other female had ever made him feel. Max had assumed she was the one, then probably made her do that stupid DNA test and discovered she didn't meet the criteria, so he dumped her like yesterday's news. Now Zan had been doing that for years. Dating women, many women seeking the right one in his own way.
But, Max never dating for that purpose. He had chosen to go the scientific way instead. Zan knew he was being a hypocrite in judging his brother for doing the exact same thing he had been doing. But, that wasn't Max and seeing the tears running down Elizabeth's face, he knew it wasn't her way either. Hell, if he had found someone that would have touched his soul the way Elizabeth had touched his brother's he wouldn't have thought twice about the throne.

The total sadness in Elizabeth's eyes, touched his soul and only caused his rage toward his brother to ignite even further. How could Max have given up on his heart for the throne? Was being King, more important than love to Max? He had always thought his brother was a romantic at heart. Stating things like, 'When I find her, I'll know.' The reality that he may not have known his twin brother as well as he had thought he did, made him even more angrier by the minute. He could no longer stand by and see this delicate creature before him being so distraught so he took action before he even thought twice about it. Moving quickly he sat next to her on his bed and wrapped his arms around her to offer her comfort. Comfort that she obviously needed from someone.
"Ssshhh..It'll be okay. I have no idea what my idiot brother was thinking, but everything will be okay." He promised as he stroked her back, trying to soothe her tears away. He for one had every intention of setting his brother straight on what was a priority in this life.

Liz allowed Zan to give her the comfort she needed at the moment. Not realizing how he had mistook her statement. That he had assumed it was Max that had walked away from their newly developed relationship in lieu of her. Taking another tissue from Zan has he offered it, she blew her nose and dried her eyes once again. "Thank you. You really are a prince."

"That I am, that I am." He joked, knowing she hadn't meant her words in the literal sense. His joke worked though and they both ended up smiling at each other.

I guess I should get dressed and get going." Liz stated then glanced at her beautiful dress that was draped over the chair. Hating the thought of putting it back on, as it just had too many memories of Max and their fantasy evening together.

Following her facial features, Zan understood her feelings without her having to express them. "Why don't I just loan you one of my T-shirts and a pair of sweats to get you back to your quarters? That way you don't have to worry about getting anything on your pretty dress." He jumped off his bed and grabbed the clothes items he had suggested. Handing them to her, he stated. "I'll be right out front, if you'd like to join me for some breakfast." With that he left Liz alone to dress in private.

When she came out of his bedroom, dressed in his old sweats and T-shirt, he thought he had never seen a woman so desirable to him. But, he knew the score and there was no way he would jeopardize his relationship to his brother for a woman. No matter how gorgeous she looked in his old sweats and no matter what kind of an asshole Max had been to her. He knew nothing good would ever come from him making a play for his brother's woman. Instead he gave her a warm friendly smile and motioned for her to join in for a Danish and coffee. Coffee was apparent a universal drink, as Antar's coffee was very similar to Earth's.

Liz gratefully accepted his offer. While they sat together eating their Danish and drinking their coffee. Liz and Zan talked, really talked. About Antar, about Earth, calling each other Liz and Zan in lieu of their proper names. They talked about Harvard, Liz's dreams of being a scientist. They talked about what it was like for Zan being raised in the castle, the lost of his mother. They talked about everything and anything with one exception. For it was silently agreed that neither brought up Max. By the time they were finished, the two of them realized they had become friends, good friends.

Zan walked Liz over to the door, opened it for her and handed her the beautiful dress she had worn the night before. Liz gave him a warm hug to thank him for making her feel so much better. "Zan thank you for everything, last night, this morning. You have no idea how much I needed that."

"The pleasure was all mine, sweets." He stated honestly, giving her a wink and grin, causing Liz to laugh for like the hundredth time that morning. With the dress laid over her arm and her glass shoes in her hand she gave him one final hug and then walked back toward her own room.

Neither of them noticed the door on the other side of the hallway closing silently once Liz was out of sight. Nor the single tear that escaped the individual's eye at what he had just witnessed and heard.

Part 11

Once again Liz dressed in her professional get up. After speaking with Zan, she felt refreshed and ready to face Max. She thought it was so odd how she felt a quick connection to Zan, but more in a sister/brother type way. But, was drawn to desire for Max almost just as quickly. Considering the two of them were identical twins, it was strange that even though Zan was as attractive as Max. Her feelings for the two brothers were as different as day and night. Yet, she felt completely at ease and comfortable with both of them. Like she had a connection to them in some way. But, that was crazy to think in itself. After all she knew the true. Yesterday in the lab proved that much. She wasn't the one that was the perfect genetic match. No matter how connected and comfortable she felt around the twins or how much her heart ached to be with Max, it just wasn't meant to be.

Taking a deep breath with her head held high she once again entered the lab. He was there sitting behind his desk, looking as gorgeous as he had the day before and the day before that. Taking another deep breath she stepped further into the lab. "Good morning, Max." She stated softly, unsure where the boundaries of their relationship stood this morning.

His head came up and Liz swore his eyes were narrowing at her like he was really angry. "Morning, Ms. Parker. Sleep well?" He asked with a touch of sarcasm that truly throw Liz for a loop. She had expected him to be upset, maybe even try to attempt to change her mind this morning.
But, to be down right angry, wasn't what she had expected at all. It also didn't go unnoticed how he had greeted her with her proper name versus Liz.

"So does this mean I am to address you as Prince Maxwell now?" His anger causing her own anger to burst forward.

Max was angry, but mostly hurt. How dare she come in acting like she hadn't done the ultimate betrayal to him? With his own brother, what did she think he wouldn't find out? Zan shared all his so called sacrifices with him. Even if he hadn't seen her leaving his brother's room this morning, he would have eventually found out via his brother.
Max had thought she was different. Thought what they had was something special. How could his heart be so wrong about her? And how dare she act like he didn't have a right to be angry with her? "If that would make you feel better after last night, then so be it."

How can he think that? How can he think that anything would make her feel better after the heart ache she felt, after the heart ache she was still feeling? She wasn't sure how to respond to him. It wasn't like she had a lot of experience with love and how to handle losing the love of her life. Her best friend Maria fell in love with a new guy every other week, but she wasn't Maria. So without saying another word, Liz walked straight over to the computer station that she had been working at the day before. Tears were forming in her eyes at Max's coldness toward her this morning, but figured after crushing both their hearts the night before she deserved it. She started up the advanced computer system, making sure to keep her face turned away from Max. Determined not to let him see how much she was hurting, nor allow him to see her tears as she tried to remain strong. Especially considering she could almost feel his narrowing eyes on her back the entire time.

Max was fuming, he thought she would at least apologize. He sat there staring at the back of her head, his heart shattering with every click of the clock that past. Unable to look away, yet the more he looked in her direction the more upset he became. It was when his brother Zan walked into the lab that all hell broke out. Without realizing the lion pit he was strolling in to, Zan walked into his brother's private lab. Zan's intention to find out what was up with his brother and to get him to rethink his priorities in life through once and for all. "Morning bro, morning sweets." He stated in his normal cheerful voice.

Liz quickly wiped her eyes, not wanting Zan to see that she was once again crying. Everytime she was around him, it seemed she was a blubbering idiot. She swiveled in her chair to greet her new friend. "Morning Zan." That was as far as the conversation went before Max attacked.

His blood was boiling all ready in an explosive state when Zan walked into the lab. Then he heard him call his Liz sweets and a rage unlike any he had ever felt in his life came over him. When Liz, replied back using Zan's unformal name. That was all he could take. His eyes saw red and before he knew what he was doing, he was out of his seat and flying over his desk. Literally diving into his brother. "You SON Of A BITCH!" His right fist connecting with Zan's jaw. "You Knew How I Felt!" His left fist striking Zan quickly in his eye. "HOW COULD YOU! YOU'RE MY BROTHER!" Both hands came around Zan's throat.

The shock of what she was witnessing making her freeze for a moment, but as soon as she saw Max starting to choke his own brother, she moved quickly. "Max, MAX! STOP IT!" She shouted at the man she loved, not understanding what happened to cause him to go into such a fit of rage.
She had never seen Max so angry, never even knew he could get that angry. He had always been such a compassionate soul that his behavior of the moment throwing her for a total lost. She pulled on Max's arm trying to pry him off his brother.

Zan too had been totally unprepared for Max's attack. Normally he was always the one to take Max when the two of them play fought as kids. But, at the moment he was concentrating on just getting his brother off of him so he could find out what the hell was going on with him. Taking both his fist and locking them together, he struck Max in the center of his chest as his leg came up and kicked him off his chest.
Liz immediately went to Zan's aide to see if he was okay, while Max was attempting to pull himself off the floor. "Zan, are you okay?" She asked totally concerned for her new friend. Zan coughed a few times to get his breath back. But, nodded his head to let her know she was okay. Once she knew Zan was going to be okay she stormed over to where Max still laid on the floor. "Max, are you okay?" She asked still very perplexed by what she had just witnessed, but her concern for Max prevented her from checking to make sure he was okay.

Max didn't answer her, he had his head turned away so she couldn't see his face, nor could she see the tears that were welling up in his eyes. Zan walked over to his brother, becoming concern for him now that he hadn't gotten up yet. He didn't think he had hurt him that bad, but yet Max had never actually tried to kill him before so he could have struck him harder than he had thought. Bending down he was the one to see the distraught look upon Max's face first. "Bro, what's going on?" He asked knowing that his brother was all right physically, but knowing that emotionally he was a wreck.

"You could have had all of them, I didn't care. Why? Why did you have to take the only one I've ever wanted?" He asked in a defeated tone.

Realization dawning on Zan with Max's words. Somehow Max must have seen him with Liz either last night or this morning and he had jumped to the wrong conclusion. He didn't know if he should laugh at how stupid his brother was that he would do that to him. Or if he should be angry for his brother thinking he would do that to him to begin with. Either way Zan needed to set the record straight. "Max, you've got it all wrong. We..."

"What did I get wrong?" His anger getting the best of him again. "Did she sleep in your room last night?"

"Well, yeah she did, but..."

"In Your Bed?" Max asked not giving his brother a chance to explain as he got up from the floor.

Knowing that if he answered that question it was only going to cause him to continue to think the worst. So, once again he tried to explain what had happened. "Look she was upset, I gave her some wine to calm her nerves and she passed out." He rushed through the explanation before Max could get any more upset. His outburst proving to Zan just how much Liz meant to him. For Max was never one to lose his cool, especially to resort in any type of violence. Antar was a peaceful world, one that prided themselves to finding solutions to problems without violence.

"You Took Advantage Of Her! HOW COULD YOU?" His blood beginning to boil all over again. He took a step toward his brother like he was going to attack once again.

"STOP IT! Stop It! Just stop, please." Liz's tears bringing the attention of both twins to her. "Max, I didn't betray you last night with Zan. Yes, he took me to his room. Yes, I had a drink of wine and yes, I slept in his bed. But, I didn't sleep with him. He slept on the couch. I would never do that to you, I couldn't. Don't you know what you mean to me? Even if I'm not the one for you, you will always have my heart."

Max looked to Liz, then to Zan who was nodding in agreeance with what Liz had said, then back to Liz again. "Oh GOD! Liz, I'm sorry. I just.."

Her soft touch of her fingers to his mouth silencing him. "No, Max, I'm the one that's sorry. I should have never let last night happen. I knew the truth before we ever went out. I should have stayed strong, I broke both our hearts letting things go like I did."

"Your wrong Liz. I told you last night I didn't care about the throne or anything else if it meant I would have to live a life without you.
I love you Liz." His hand coming up and gently stroking her face as he made his confession of love.

"Don't say that Max. Don't you know how hard you're making this on me?" Both of them looking at each other with sadness and longing in their eyes.

"Well, I'll be damned! Congratulations bro, you won!" Zan stepped up and slapped his brother on the back. In doing so bringing both Liz and Max out of their stare contest of love.

Looking at his brother, then back to Liz. He nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, I guess I did, didn't I. Uh..Sorry about.."

Holding up his hand in mid air. "Say no more bro. But, I have to say, you got one hell of a left hook on you."

"Well, hell, my chest is going to be hurting for a week after that dirty throw." Max bantered back at his brother.

"Your lucky I didn't hit you harder. I mean, you were trying to kill me." Zan joked back.

"Hey, in my defense I did have a good reason to kill you or so I thought." Max defended back.

"That reminds me, how could you think I would do that to you of all people. I may be girl hungry, but I don't betray my own flesh and blood. Come on man, I mean Liz may be hot and all, but your my bro, you know."

"Zan, could you please not comment on the woman that I love like that. It's a little degrading, if you know what I mean."

The two easily bantered back and forth. Liz standing there in shock as she watched the two of them together. It was just unbelievable to her.
Did neither one of them listen to a word she had said. She wasn't the one. Why were they acting like Max had won the best prize in the world? If he remained with her he would lose his throne. Didn't either of them understand that? Steeling herself for another heart break she yelled out. "Didn't you two hear a word I said? I'm NOT the One!" Turning back to Max, she sadly admitted. "Nothings changed, I won't stand in the way of your destiny. We can't be together." With that she ran out of the lab before either twin had a chance to say another word.

Part 12

Max watched in horror as Liz walked out the door. Zan stood in shock as he had a better understanding of what really went down last night. Max had broken things off because Liz wasn't his genetic match. Liz had been the one to walk away. Looking at his brother and the look of defeat forming upon his face once again. Zan nudged his brother. "You aren't going to let her get away with that crap are you?"

His brother's nudge bringing him out of his trance of seeing Liz walking away again. "Uh?" He asked haven't really paid attention to what his brother had said.

"What are you doing? Man, go after her. Convince her she's wrong. Go on, get going." Zan encouraged, pushing his brother toward the door.

But, in lieu of running after Liz, Max shrugged his brother's hands off of him. "Stop it, Zan. Don't you get it. Liz isn't going to budge on this, trust me I know. I've already tried everything from romancing her to seducing her and she still believes that she's doing the right thing. That she's being noble by allowing me to have the stupid throne, even though I couldn't care less about it. No, I've got to come up with another solution to get her attention."

Zan wasn't very convinced by his brother's words. Hell, if he had found true love like his brother had, nothing and he meant nothing at all would keep him away from the woman that owned his heart. He had known this Earth girl had stirred something deep in his twin brother, but until he witnessed the two of them staring deeply into each other's eyes, he hadn't realized just how far his twin had fallen. Vowing right then and there he would do what ever it took to help Max win the stubborn heart of Liz's once and for all. "Okay, so what do you want to try next?"

"Nothing."

"WHAT?" Zan couldn't have heard his brother right. Max had a lot of qualities, but giving up wasn't one of them.

"No, listen. She's smart, independent and she believes she is doing what's best for me. So, I'm going to play her silly game. But, I'm going to make her be there for every step of this stupid game until she admits that we were meant to be together and that she is the one for me. Until she admits that, she'll never be mine." Max confessed to his brother. In the few days that he had gotten to know Liz, one thing was sure. She was stubborn. But, Max was a patient man. He had waited his whole life to find her, looking throughout the universe seeking her. If she thought he would give up on her now, because of some noble cause, Liz Parker had no idea who she was dealing with.

"So in other words, your planning to drive her crazy." It was a statement more then a question as Zan already had a good idea what his twin was planning.

"Oh yeah. Crazy, big time." Max agreed as the two brothers sat down to come up with the best ways to drive Liz crazy with want for Max. Zan had suggested that Max take her up on seeking out the other genetic match's, but Max refused to go that route. He could no more betray her that way even if it would only be fake, then she would have betrayed him with his brother. No, Max knew what would drive Liz more insane with want then attempting to make her jealous, which would only cause her pain. He had felt her desire for him when they had kissed. He knew how she felt emotionally and physically about him. He had no doubt that she loved him just as much as he loved her. Nor, did he doubt that she physically desired him just as he desired her and he planned on using that knowledge to his advantage. He figured sooner or later her emotions and physical desires of her heart would override her stubborn mind. He would just have to be patient.

The first part of his plan would be to make sure she was forced to be around him constantly. With his status as the prince, he believed that part of the plan would be easy. Especially considering she had tried to keep their relationship a secret to her fellow Earth companions. So his first call was to Dr. Jenson, to let him know his disappointment that Ms. Parker wasn't in his lab at the moment. He knew it was low, that Dr. Jenson would probably be upset thinking Liz hadn't even been there that morning, but Liz had left him no choice.

Liz had ran all the way back to her quarters. Flopping on her bed in a blubbering mess once again. What was she supposed to do now? She couldn't face Max daily and help him find his perfect match. Not with her heart open to him now. So she figured the only way to cope with the situation was to avoid him at all cost. The first thing she needed to do would be excuse herself from being his personal assistant in his private lab. She went to her bathroom and splashed cold water on her face. Redid her hair into it's tight bun, grabbed her lab coat and left her quarters with a new determination. She walked back to the main laboratory to explain to Dr. Jenson that she would be more comfortable working with him, since she didn't know the young prince that well. At least that was the excuse she would use to appeal to Dr. Jenson. There was no need for her mentor to know the personal situation she had found herself in with Prince Maxwell. So with her head held high once again so stepped into the main laboratory. Spotting her mentor immediately she began to walk in his direction, only to see him spot her and come to her instead.

"Ms. Parker, why are you not assisting Prince Maxwell in his lab today.
He has already called and expressed his disappointment that you were not there and I assured him that I would see to it that you would be there shortly. Now, you must remember we are guest here. That our relationship with Antar is new and they have helped Earth advance it's technology years ahead of our time. It would be a great disappointment to our world if our expedition caused a rift to occur, between our two planets. So I expect that from here on out that you remember your place and be on time to Prince Maxwell's private lab from here on out. After all, it is a great honor to even be asked by one so young to help assist him personally. I would have thought you to have jumped at this opportunity. Now, before Prince Maxwell calls back, I suggest you high tail it back to his lab." Dr. Jenson stated sternly basically all in one breath, not leaving Liz with a chance to put a word in. Before she knew it, she was being escorted out of the main laboratory by Dr. Jenson and found herself apologizing for her behavior to her mentor. Then walking back toward the private lab of Prince Maxwell.

On her way she realized just what had happened, how twisted things had been turned around. The more she thought about it, the more angrier she became. By the time she reached the lab door she was stomping with frustration. Swinging the door open without even bothering to knock this time. She saw the receiptor of her anger sitting once again behind his desk casually, as if nothing had happened. Slamming the door shut behind to make sure she got his attention, she stormed over to his desk as she shouted. "Whatever you think you're going to accomplish with this stunt of yours, let me guarantee you. IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK!" The fire in her eyes could be seen for miles.

"Ms. Parker, I don't think you have had the privilege of meeting my father, King Alexander as of yet." Max stated in a professional tone as he motioned to the side of his lab where sure enough a man stood dressed very Kingly. He wore what looked like a very expensive suit, accented with a slash across his shoulder and chest.

The King nodded in Liz's direction. "Ms. Parker, both my son's have told me much about you. The honor is all mine." He spoke in regal voice very similar to both Max and Zan, yet Liz could tell he had a life time more experiences then either of his twin sons.

Liz's eyes just about popped out of her sockets. Coming face to face with the King of Antar at that very minute was the last thing she had expected. It didn't also slip her attention the way she had just acted toward his son in his presences either. "Yo..your majesty. Forgive my..uh..I'll be right back." With her head hanging low in total embarrassment she ran right in between the two royal's and into the bathroom. Seeking refuge from her humiliation.

Max looked to his father, his lips quivering with laughter at the situation for he had already informed his father of Liz's spirit. But, he couldn't have shown the real Liz's spirit to his father more perfectly if he had planned that one out himself. His father looked at his son than at the closed bathroom door, before stating. "When you said she had spirit, you weren't kidding." The King acclaimed prior to both father and son sharing a good harty laugh.

"I guess I better." Max motioned to the closed door.

Nodding his father, simply offered. "I'll wait in the study. Perhaps Ms. Parker would like to join us for a bite to eat before the two of you get back to your research." With that the King of Antar left his son's private lab, laughing still as he exited the door.

Once his father was gone, Max knocked on the bathroom door. "Liz?" No answer. "Liz, may I please come in?" Still no answer, but he heard the door click, letting him know she had unlocked the door in invitation to join her. Open the door slowly, he saw her standing with her back to the him by the sink. "Liz, I'm sorry. I had no idea that you would be that upset about having to come back to work with me."

Liz spun on her heels at him and whispered in an angry tone, not wanting his father to hear her. "Why didn't you tell me your father was here? Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was for me?"

"In my defense, you didn't really give me a chance to tell you. But, I am sorry and so is my father. He would like us to join him for lunch so he can meet you properly to make up for this unfortunate occurrence."

Lifting her hands to her face, she exclaimed. "I can't have lunch with him now. I doubt I'll ever be able to show my face in his presence ever again after what I just did."

"It wasn't that bad Liz. Come on, my father may be a King, but he is more down to Antar then you think." This phrase made Liz giggle, which took Max by surprise. "What?"

Laughing harder, she answered with laughter in her voice. "Down to Antar. I've heard that expression a number of times in my life, but it went more like. Down to Earth, it just sounded funny when you said, down to Antar."

"I guess that proves, even though we're from different worlds, we aren't so different after all." Max stated, her laughter becoming infectious, causing his own laughter to burst forward. "You have a nice laugh." He softly stated once they had calmed down.

"So do you." She replied also just as softly. The two of them began to lose themselves in each other's eyes for a moment, inching forward as if unable to control their own bodies.

When Max was only a breath away from her lips, knowing that if he just leaned forward a millimeter further his lips would have another taste of Liz. Knowing she would welcome his lips, but knowing she was far from ready to admit they were truly meant to be together. So instead of giving in to both their desires, he whispered. "My father's waiting in the study for us to join him for lunch."

Liz pulled back instantly, realizing how she had once again had gotten lost in her Max induced spell. "Max, I don't know." She stated as she turned away from him.

Reaching down he offered her his hand. "It will be all right. I promise, Liz."

She looked back at his hand, then to his eyes. Seeing the truth spoken not only with his words, but also in his eyes. She smiled shyly at him, then placed his trust in him completely by placing her hand in his. "Do you think we have time for me to go back to my quarters first and freshen up? I mean if I'm going to meet the King, I should at least look half way presentable."

Nodding his head, he stated. "Come on, I'll walk you there. But, just for the record. You will always look more then half way presentable."
Liz just smiled at his complement. Hand and hand they walked to her quarters for her to get ready to formally meet the King of Antar.

I'm so glad everyone is still enjoying this fic, it's a lot of fun to write. I have to say fluff is so much easier to write then angst at least for me. My hat is off to all those wonderful writers who write those wonderful angsty stories and pull it off so effortlessly it seems. Anyway, on with the story. Here is the new part, hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

Part 13

Lunch with the King had been a lot less formal then Liz had thought. Just as Max had stated, his father was a lot more down to Antar when just in the presence of his sons. Zan had also accompanied them for lunch and he kept Liz feeling quite at ease with his jokes all through their lunch. Even though her feelings for Max were just as strong as ever, he played the perfect host and never made her feel uncomfortable.
In fact, it was just the opposite. He was polite, pleasant and made her all but fall in love with him all over again with his sexy shy smile he would give her periodically. Or the way he would wink at just the right moment. Or the way his hand would graze hers to give her reassurance that she was doing great winning his father over.

By the time lunch was over, the three of them had made Liz actually feel like a part of their family. Reluctantly she excused herself from the three of them after they had some afternoon tea to get back to her work. Knowing she had preoccupied more then enough of the King's time and hospitality. Max assured her, he would meet her back at his lab in a little while, stating he needed to go over a few things with his father and brother. Once she was gone, King Alexander spoke his opinion easily to his sons. "She's a keeper Max. I can see why she caught your eye."

"Mine too, I was just unlucky that Max got to her first." Zan spoke up honestly. Although he would never betray his brother, he too felt a spark inside of him whenever Liz was around. Now Zan had dated many women over the years, so when he first saw her and felt a tingle inside of him. He had just first thought it was due to her physical appearance. After all she was a natural beauty and if it hadn't been for Max openly stating how she had affected him. Zan would have more than likely asked her out to find out in his own way if she was in fact the one. Remembering his first impression of the Earth girl, with the brown glup sliding down her hair and face and how he hadn't gone with his first instinct and followed the tingling sensation he had felt then. But, instead he had passed on her. Now he wanted to kick himself for his proud behavior at not being able to see pass the brown glup. But, seeing the smile on his brother's face was more then enough to accept that Liz was better for Max. Envious as he was of his brother, but happy for him all at the same time.

"Unlucky hell, you took one look at her brown glupped face and punted.
That just goes to show you brother dear, that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover." Max joked back at his brother. He knew his brother found Liz attractive, hell who wouldn't. He just didn't know how much she did affect him. That would be something Zan had planned to take to his grave.

King Alexander listened to his two sons joist back and forth over the Earth girl. One thought came to mind instantly, knowing that both his sons were attracted to the girl. He knew how Max truly felt, there was no doubt in his mind about his feelings. But, what about Zan? Did he too feel a connection to the young Ms. Parker? If so, could that mean they had found her. Knowing he couldn't voice his inquiries without making either of his sons uncomfortable. He decided he would keep his thoughts to himself for the moment. But, he made a mental note to keep his eyes open and to make sure he got to know Ms. Elizabeth Parker as best as he could during her visit to their planet.

After finishing their official business, as promised Max returned to his lab only to find Liz sitting behind the computer, staring at the screen. "Something got your attention?" He questioned as he strolled over to her.

"I..Uh..You got another match Max. I don't understand. I thought we had already found your match." She stated more then questioned as she continued to look at the computer screen.

Max smiled at her innocents. "Liz, I've gotten hundreds of matches throughout the different galaxies I've traveled. I thought you understood, my program is only ninety-three percent accurate." He explained once again.

"Oh God, I can't believe I had forgotten that." Liz stated out loud, but more to herself. Once she had seen Max had gotten a genetic match, she had lost all logical sense at the thought of losing Max. Now, she realized how unreasonable she had been with Max. Just because they had found one match the other day, didn't mean that was the individual that was meant to be with Max. After all the program was only ninety-three percent accurate. Yesterday's match meant nothing really, it only meant that the individual was a possible match. One possibility among hundreds. Which meant that it was still a possibility that perhaps Max had been right all along. Maybe, just maybe the two of them were meant to be together after all. Turning her head toward Max, she whispered his name. "Max?"

Knowing exactly where her thoughts had turned, Max lifted her out of her chair. "I told you before you were the one Liz. I don't need some computer program to tell me what I feel in here." He placed her hand over his heart. "Please Liz, give us a chance to see if what we are both feeling is the real thing." He lifted her chin with one finger as he ever so slowly tilted his head down toward hers. Just barely brushing his lips against hers, he pulled back to search her eyes for her acceptance. His plan to win her over was temporarily forgotten in hopes that she had finally realized what he had known since the first moment he had laid eyes on her in that dark lab.

"Oh Max, you don't know how much I want that." She sadly confirmed, but could she honestly give her heart completely to him? Could she really live with the consequences of possibly losing Max someday to his destiny hanging over her head? But, what if she was wrong and Max was right. What if she was the one? She hadn't tested her own DNA to see if it was a possibility. Leaning back into him, it was she who kissed him this time. It started softly, gently, but soon the two of them lost themselves in the feel of each other in their arms and their mouths hungrily began to devoured the others. Tongues dueled, arms roamed and their passion flared to an all time high. Finally breaking for air, Liz finally gave Max his answer. "Okay." Knowing she could no longer resist him or try to deny what she was feeling in her heart for him.

Pulling back so he could look at her to see she was saying what he thought she was saying. "Okay?" He leaned down to take another taste of her lips. When she placed a finger upon his lips to prevent his kiss.

"With one condition."

"Anything." At this point he would gladly offer anything he owned to her. His desire for her more then he could take.

"I want you to test my DNA."

"What?" He couldn't have heard her correctly. After all had it not been her that had stated she didn't want to be discovered she was a genetic match by a computer. But, rather she wanted to be swept off her feet. Fall head over heels in love with a man because her heart told her he was the one for her, not because a computer said it was meant to be.

Pulling back and in her most serious voice stated. "I'm serious, Max.
I want you to test my DNA. I know what I said before, but I can see I was wrong. I should have had you test my DNA from the start. It would have saved us both a lot of heart ache if I hadn't been so stubborn."

Max shook his head. "I don't need any proof to tell me what my heart already knows is the truth Liz. You don't need to take any stupid DNA test. It was a stupid idea to begin with. Now that I know what I'm supposed to feel when I'm in love, I never did need it."

"But, Max. Don't you see, if I take the test then there won't be any more doubts."

"That's my whole point Liz, I don't have any doubts now and to prove it, I won't allow your DNA to ever be tested." He stated in his own stubborn voice.

"But..." Her rebuttal silenced with his lips upon hers. Attempting to stop any further argument on the subject. She was the one for him, it didn't matter what any stupid DNA test said. He knew it deep within his soul. Besides if there was any chance, any possible chance that he was wrong. He wasn't about to take a chance on losing her just because a stupid computer program that he was dumb enough to design to begin with said so. No, the days of using a computer program to find his perfect genetic match was over. He had the love of his life finally in his arms and that was that. He would check with Zan to see if he was interested in using his program to possibly locate his choice in a mate, but for Max that choice had been taken away the first time his eyes found Elizabeth Parker. Brown glup and all.

Thanks so much for the wonderful FB. It's time for the fairytale to continue. Here's the new part, hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

Part 14

Liz still had her doubts though as she stood wrapped in the safety of Max's arms. Part of her wanted the fairy tale to be true. To trust in Max completely, that she was the one meant for him. But, part of her, the logical part just couldn't let it go that easily. Why was Max so adamant about her not taking his DNA test? Was it possible that Max himself had doubts? As that thought entered her mind, she found herself pulling out of Max's arms once again. "You have doubts too, don't you." It wasn't a question so much as a statement.

"Liz, I told you already that you're the one for me. Yes, the thought of losing you because of some DNA testing does scare me. But, I swear on my love for you, I have no doubts that you are the one for me." He answered honestly, but it didn't go unnoticed to Liz that he side stepped the question all the same. Admitting that he was scared of losing her because of the DNA testing spoke volumes to Liz. No matter how much he tried to deny it, he did have doubts.

Her heart was bursting with both joy and sadness at the same time. How that was possible she would never understand, but that was the way she felt. "So what happens now?" She asked unsure of anything any more.

"We get our happy ever after." Max stated with a smile as he gave her one of his sexy winks that made her legs go weak.

His care free answer causing her to giggle. "Max, I'm serious." If she let go of her own doubts, what happened next? Do you actually date a prince? Would their relationship be made known to the public? But, Max was a prince and if they did pursue their feelings, then wouldn't their relationship be up for public review. On Earth, the royal families were always in the gossip section of the papers. People on Earth lived to hear about scandals. Being in the public eye wasn't an easy thing to live with she surmised. But, this wasn't Earth, it was Antar. The fantasy of all fantasy worlds.

"So am I. I'm going to wine you and dine you. Sweep you off your feet night after night until you do me the honor of becoming my wife. Then I'll worship you every day and night for the rest of our lives, proving to you how much you mean to me." He stated with a dreamy look upon his face, already picturing what his life was going to be like from this day forward with Liz by his side.

"Max, that's a nice fantasy, but I really do want to know. I mean you're a prince, who was born to be a King and I'm just a small town girl from the good old USA on the planet Earth. What's everyone going to say?"

"As long as your by my side, I couldn't care less. Besides my people are going to love you Liz. How could they not? Your beautiful, smart, and your heart is so full of love. Look how easy you won over my father and my brother. Besides, the people of Antar will accept you, because one look at us and they'll see how much we mean to each other. True love is one thing that all Antarian's live to find and when they do, all of Antar celebrates for the couple. Trust me when I say, you are so much more then just a small town girl." Max spoke the truth about the Antarian people. True love was something they found to be the highest honor to find.

"You make it sound so easy." Liz stated her doubts ringing loud and clear.

"It can be, if you just let go and allow your heart to feel everything I know it can. Let go Liz, let me love you the way you were born to be loved." With that said, Max lowered his head once again to place a tender kiss so soft upon her lips that Liz found herself being the one to demand more. Placing her hands behind his head and urging him closer, while her mouth opened to him requesting him to deepen the kiss.

Her body language was easy to read and Max took full advantage of what she was requesting. Pulling her close to his body once again, his mouth easily devoured hers. His tongue exploring every crevice of her mouth as she easily succumbed to his assault. The kiss deepen, heightening their senses of each other. Before Liz knew what was happening images were flashing through her mind. Not of her life, but of Max's. She not only saw different stages of his life, but could feel everything he felt during those different stages. His love for his father, his brotherly bond to his brother, his respect for the people of Antar. Even though he had been surrounded with love and respect all his life, she could feel his loneliness. His desire to find love. She saw his travels to other worlds, other galaxies, seeking and searching in hopes to find the one that would complete him.

Then she saw herself through his eyes that day she had the brown gulp covering her hair and face and she could feel his confusion at the fluttering in his stomach at that small glimpse of her. Their first unofficial meeting in the lab late that first night and his desire for her. The night of their first date, their first real kiss and she felt his heart bursting with the love he felt for her and the feeling of completeness that he had finally found her. The last image she saw was of her walking away and the total sadness at the thought of losing her forever.

Max's mouth pulling away from hers, broke the trance of images she had been receiving. His breath on her lips as he whispered. "I love you, Liz. I'll love you for the rest of my life, even longer then that. You own my soul now, forever." And in that moment Liz realized he spoke the truth. He had opened and shared his soul completely to her.

"OH God, Max! Your soul is beautiful. I love you so much." She finally professed her true feelings to him. She was completely head over heels in love with him and nothing any DNA test could say would allow her to step away from him now. To show him just that, she stepped out of his arms and moved to the computer desk. Glancing back at him to make sure he was watching, she turned back to the computer and turned the monitor off. Proving to Max that the DNA test no longer mattered to her either. For Max had proved to her once and for all that they do belong together. His soul had touched hers, giving a part of himself to her that she never wanted to give back. He was hers and she was his from this moment on.

His only reply was a simple. "Your amazing." Their eyes met once again with a renewed look of love and devotion. "I want to bond to you Liz. As soon as possible. I want everyone to rejoice in our love that we share. Will you Liz? Will you bond with me forever? Will you allow me to make your dreams come true from this day forward? Will you make Antar your home and stand beside me as my princess and perhaps someday as my Queen? Say yes, Liz and make me the happiness man alive.
Elizabeth Parker, will you marry me?"

To say Liz was shocked speechless was an understatement. Sure she admitted she was completely in love with him. Yes, he had bared his soul to her and she had never felt anything like she did when in his arms. But, they had only known each other for three days and had only really been on one date. "Max, you know I love you, but everything's moving too fast. As much as I want to say yes, I just think we should spend a little more time together before we jump into a life time commitment. What if you decide in a couple months that I'm not who you really want?" She could see him already starting to deny her statement. "Max, I'm not saying no, I'm just asking for time for both of us to know each other a little better."

"Liz, we're connected now. I've seen into your soul, I know everything there is to know about you and you know everything there is to know about me. But, if you need time, then I'll be more than happy to wait.
Because in the end I already know we will be together. So instead of moving fast, we'll go slow. How about dinner with me tonight?"

"Max your the most incredible man. Yes, I would love to have dinner with you tonight."

That was only the beginning. As Max had promised he took things incredibly slow for the next few months. Wining and dining her. Introducing her to his friends at parties, showing her different parts of his world and true to Max's word the people were falling in love with her just as Max had predicted. In fact, he had taken his vow to move slow almost too slow for Liz. Physically, as much as Max desired to be with her in every way possible, he had complete control of his urges. Liz, on the other hand was driven crazy with want and need for Max. However, he wouldn't allow their physical relationship to go pass kissing. Wanting Liz to know how much he worshipped all of her and not just her body. He was perfect, a dream come true and he treated Liz like she was the one with royal blood flowing through her veins instead of vice a versa.

By the end of their third month together as an official couple, the people of Antar looked upon Liz as their princess too. With Max, Zan and even the King of Antar's help, Liz had been taught the proper etiquette of the royal house. How important it was to be there for their people when needed? To put the needs of other's before their own needs and most importantly to show respect to the people. Liz learned quickly and it wasn't long before the King was sending her alone to represent the royal house of Antar, making it official that she would someday be a part of his family. She was treated as a princess, even though she had yet to marry Max officially and the title had yet to be given to her. From the servants to the high council, all could see the love that her and Max shared for each other. That was another one of Max's predictions that had come true. So on the day of the great festival of Antar it came no surprise to anyone when King Alexander announced to his world, that there was to be a formal ball at the castle the following month to make the engagement of Prince Maxwell Philip to Ms. Elizabeth Parker official.

Their official engagement party was set up for the following month, so all that hadn't had an opportunity to meet their future Princess as of yet could do so as invitations were sent out to all of Antar. It was a time to celebrate the love of two individual's that had earned the respect of all the people of Antar. Liz had requested her parents and her two best friends in the world to be able to join the celebration and without hesitation Max agreed to her request. Another one of Max's vows was to make all her dreams come true and thus far he had more than kept his vow to her. He gave her everything her heart desired and then some. The only thing he refused was to take their physical relationship any further. Claiming that the night of their engagement party he planned to bond to her in every way. They wouldn't be officially married for another two months, but Max couldn't wait any longer to bond to her. Liz learned that two people bonded for life on Antar when they became not only physically one, but spiritually as one during intimacy and she couldn't wait for that moment to come.

When her parents arrived Liz greeted them with a radiant smile that spoke of how much she was in love and how that love was returned. Both her parents fell in love with Max, as his love for their daughter showed in every look, every gesture and every word he spoke about her.
Maria DeLuca and Alex Whitman also arrived with the Parker's to celebrate with their life long friend her engagement to the famous Prince Maxwell. It was all like a fairytale come to life and Liz was more then eager to show her friends and family the new world she would make her home. After a long tour of the castle and grounds and with many introductions throughout the day, both Liz's parents were exhausted. When they retired for the evening, Max also excused himself so Liz could have time to herself with her friends. Liz gave him a seductive kiss good night, reminding him that she couldn't wait for their bonding to take place and then returned to her friends.

"Alex, I've got something to show you that I bet will make you wet your pants." She joked as she led both Maria and Alex to Max's private lab.
She had told both of them about the true reason she and the other scientist's had come to Antar in the first place. Knowing these were the two people in the entire universe she could share that personal knowledge with and they would understand all the woes she had gone through in those first few days she had attempted to fight off her emotions for Max. When they reached the lab, Liz stepped over to the computer that had been turned off for the past three months. "Wala!" She exclaimed as she hit the power to the monitor key to turn it back on with the intention of showing off the Antar technology to her friend Alex who was a super computer geek.

As she had predicted Alex's eyes went wide with desire, his hands were just itching to get to try out the new system in front of him. "Go ahead, Alex. I know you're just dying to try it out. I doubt Max will mind." So without any further prompting needed, Alex sat down and started to play with the alien technology to learn and advance his own knowledge. In the mean time, Liz and Maria sat on the couch and pleasantly exchanged details of their life's for the past few months away from each other.

After a few hours, Liz was getting tired as was Maria and the two of them were just about to call it a night, when Alex yelled out. "Hey Liz, it looks like a program finished it's search. Can I check it out?"

Without thinking about what program Alex was referring to, she nodded her head and said. "Sure, whatever floats your boat?" Alex opened the program, just as Liz's brain processed what program he must have been referring to. "NO, ALEX! DON'T!" She exclaimed, but she was too late.

"Why? It looks like only seven matches were found to whatever this DNA genetic match program was searching for." Alex informed her, then the realization of what the program was sank in to Alex's computer lust filled brain.

All three friends froze as the computer screen began to list the names of all the genetic match's it had found from the planet Earth. No one said a word when Liz's name wasn't on the list.

Hey everyone, thanks for the wonderful FB and don't worry. I have no plans to allow Liz's stubborness to ruin my fairytale. I'm hoping I did Maria justice in this part. So without further a do, here is the next part. Let me know what you think.

Title: Seeking A Queen
For Disclaimer & Summary see Prologue

Part 15

Not one of them knew what to say. It wasn't possible. Max and Liz had the fairy tale romance that stories were written about. They were meant to be. How was it possible that Liz didn't meet the criteria of Max's DNA genetic match? He had been so positive that she was the one, so adamant that his heart couldn't be wrong. But, standing there staring at that stupid computer screen proved how wrong he was. She wasn't the one. It had been all been a lie. There was someone made to be with Max and the fact remained it wasn't Liz stood mocking her as the system beeped over and over to state it was finished. It had gone through the entire planet's DNA and she didn't match. "Oh GOD!" Were the first words out of Liz's mouth. She was too in shocked to say anything else. Her fairy tale romance was coming to an end, her heart breaking with each beep of the computer system.

"Now Liz, I'm sure there's a logical explanation for all of this." Maria stated wanting to reassure her friend before she went and did something drastic.

"Maria's right Liz, you said it yourself. The program Max designed was only ninety-three percent accurate. That means there is at least seven percent of the match's tested that aren't correct." Alex stated quickly hopping on Maria's train of thought. They had both been friends with Liz long enough to know how noble she was. She was the type of individual that would do anything to help the other person out and she was just noble enough to think that she didn't deserve the fairy tale, that someone else did and to walk away for the sake of Max and his correct genetic match. Who ever that may be? She obviously loved Max enough, that in her mind she would be doing him right, by walking away so he could pursue his destiny to be the future King of Antar.

"Don't you two get it? I'm not Max's genetic match. If I go through with this, Max won't ever get to be King and it will all be my fault!"

"NO! You're wrong Liz! That stupid computer doesn't know what's in a person's heart. A computer can't tell you how your supposed to feel about someone." As Maria argued her point to her best friend, she could see the tears welling in her eyes and Maria knew if she didn't act fast this was an argument she stood a chance of losing. And when it came to true love, Maria DeLuca never lost to a stupid computer. "God Damn It, Liz! Listen to me. You are going to forget that you ever saw that stupid list. You are going to have a wonderful engagement party tomorrow night, you're going to bond to Max after the engagement party and in two months time, you Elizabeth Parker are going to become Princess Elizabeth of Antar. Do you hear me?" She had grabbed a hold of Liz's shoulders during her rant, trying to literally shake some sense in the stubborn girl's head. Turning back to Alex, she let her wrath go on him. "Turn that stupid computer off Alex. Why did you have to go butting into something that didn't concern you in the first place?"

Alex obeyed Maria's command. He had seen a full blown Maria rant before several times in his life and he knew not to even try to defend himself at this point. Because when Maria wanted to, she could be down right scary with her wicked tongue lashings and narrowing piercing green eyes. Taking a deep breath to calm herself halfway down, she stated softly. "Liz, I want you to repeat after me. Max loves me."

"Max loves me." Liz stated in a shell shocked voice.

"I love Max." Maria continued on.

"I love Max." Liz copied Maria's words, but her mind was going completely blank.

"Max is going to bond with me tomorrow night, because we love each other."

"Maria, I..."

"Say it, Liz." Maria stated sternly, not giving her best friend any other option.

"Max is going to bond with me tomorrow night, because we love each other." Liz answered in her monotone voice lacking all emotions. Her entire body going numb.

Maria seemed satisfied for the moment, to at least get Liz to repeat that much. She turned to Alex. "Let's get her to bed, she's got a big day tomorrow." The two friends flanked Liz on both sides, both holding her close as they walked their numb friend back to her quarters. It was supposed to be the last night she spent her own room and Maria was determined that fact remained true despite what that stupid computer said or not. Once back to Liz's quarters, Alex bid his two friends good night. Maria helped Liz change into her sleepware, laid her numb body down on the bed and then sat down along side her life long friend.
Placing her head in her lap and stroking her hair until Liz finally gave into exhaustion and fell into a deep trance like sleep. Her brain too overloaded with what she had learned this evening to think any more.

A soft knock on Liz's door awoken Maria. Gently removing Liz's head from her lap she went to answer the door. Opening the door just enough for her to peak her head out and see who had disturbed her sleep. She shouldn't have been surprised when Max's smiling face stood on the other side of the door, but she wasn't prepared to face him quite yet.
And she knew damn well, Liz wasn't. In fact, Liz had yet to move since she had laid her down on her bed. It was like she was a lost soul and couldn't find her way back. "Max! Wh..What are y..you doing here?"

"I came to get my morning kiss from my beautiful future wife. I have to go with my father this morning and help him with the new colony, so I wouldn't get a chance to see Liz until the party this evening and I couldn't go an entire day without at least one kiss to hold me over until then." Max stated in a teasing tone, but he meant ever word he had said. Going an entire day without at least one kiss from his beloved Liz, was just asking way too much from him. In the past three months the two of them had become almost inseparable. With the exception of when they were needed to help the people of Antar out and then they would spend hours afterward just holding each other.

"Uh..Liz is in the shower. We didn't realize you would be by this early, so yeah..uh..Liz got in the shower to get ready." Maria knew she was babbling, she was a terrible liar and all her friends knew when she babbled badly, she was lying.

"Oh, okay. Well, my father's waiting, so I guess I'll see you two tonight." The dejection in his voice more than clear and Maria felt horrible about telling her white lie. But, she had more important things to worry about at the moment. "I just wanted to drop this off for Liz also, the royal seamstress finished it late yesterday. I'm sure Liz will find it to her liking for this evening's event." He held out a beautifully wrapped package for Maria to take.

Opening the door just wide enough for her to fit the large package inside, she gave Max what she thought was a reassuring smile. "Thanks Max, I'll make sure she's ready right on time for you to escort her to the ball." Giving him a wink, then closing the door quickly before Liz woke up and saw Max was there or before Max could see that Liz wasn't in the shower as she had said.

The click of the door was what finally stirred Liz's form awake. "Max?" Was the first word out of her mouth, desperately needing to see him first thing before he left for the new colony.

"No chica, it's just me. Your best friend for life, that comes baring gifts I might had." As she cheerfully bounced on the bed beside her friend and sat the beautiful large package upon Liz's lap.

"What?" Liz hadn't really had a chance to fully gain her senses yet and Maria's enthusiasm was just a bit too cheerful first thing in the morning.

"Come on, come on, open it up. I'm dying to see what your dress for tonight looks like!" Maria loved presents, even if they weren't for her the excitement to see what was inside them was more then enough to get her spirits up.

Finally becoming a bit more awake, Liz looked at the package on her lap. Memories of her first date with Max swam through her mind and a dreamy look came upon her face. Before reality started to take root and the smile that lit her face a second before, was replaced with total sadness. "It doesn't matter what the dress looks like, because I'm not going."

"What are you talking about, it's YOUR engagement party. Of course, YOU have to GO!" Maria knew what Liz was thinking and there was no way she was going to let her stubborn friend give up her dream because of that stupid list, that some stupid computer came up with.

Rolling her eyes at her friend, she moved the box off her lab and climbed out of her bed. "Maria, listen to me. There isn't going to be any engagement party, because you can't have an engagement party if there aren't two people that are going to be engaged. I can't marry Max and that's that. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go catch Max before he leaves for the new colony so I can tell him that I can't marry him and that we're leaving for Earth first thing tomorrow." She stated stubbornly as she marched into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

Whispering to herself, Maria stood shaking her head. "Oh and I thought you knew me by now, Liz Parker. There is no way in hell I'm letting you get out of this one. I can be just as stubborn as you when I need to be."

Maria moved a large chair over in front of the door and proceeded to sit down upon it. There she sat and waited until Liz stepped out of the bathroom. "Maria, what are you doing?"

"Holding you hostage until the party tonight." Came Maria's simple statement.

Shaking her head at her friends antics, Liz returned. "Maria, would you be serious for a minute and get out of the way. I have to go see Max."

"Too late, he already came and left. Guess you'll just have to see him at the party tonight." Maria stated with a smirk on her face.

"Maria! I told you I'm not going!" Liz argued back in her stubborn tone.

"And I told you, you were!" Maria shot right back just as stubborn.

"You can't make me go."

"Fine, but you're not leaving this room until it's time to go to the party and that's that." Crossing her arms over her chest to emphasize she had no intention of getting up any time soon.

Taking another approach, Liz smiled sweetly at her life long friend. "We'll just see about that." She sat down on her bed and stared at her friend. The two stubborn women having a showdown to see who would cave first. "You aren't going to win Maria, because I know you and I know what a weak bladder you have. Sooner or later you'll have to use the bathroom."

Maria narrowed her eyes at her friend. That was such a low blow even for her. But, if she had to wet her pants to make Liz see how serious she was, then so be it. So she stayed in her seat. Liz stayed on the bed and the showdown continued. Over an hour later the two stubborn woman had yet to move when a knock rattled the door behind Maria. "Who is it?" Maria called out without moving an inch.

"It's Alex, I just wanted to see if Liz is okay." The concern in his voice for his friend highly apparent.

Maria jumped up, shoved the chair out of the way, yanked Alex inside the room, then moved the chair back and sat Alex down in her place all in one swift movement. "Oh thank GOD! Now Alex if you value your life, you won't move from this spot until I finish in the bathroom. You got it." She narrowed her eyes upon him to make sure she was serious.

"Uh..Liz, I got it." He stated nervously.

"Remember, it's your life if you move." She threatened one final time, then took off for the bathroom like a bat out of hell.

"What was that all about?" Alex barely got to question, when Liz was upon.

"Move out of the way Alex!"

"But, Maria..uh.."

"NOW!" Liz screamed scaring Alex to death, he had never seen his two friends act like such lunatics and had no idea what was going on.

"Too late!" Came Maria's victorious voice from the bathroom door. "Thank you Alex, now you may get up." She stated as she returned to her vigil sitting in front of the door.

"HUGH! Maria, you have got to stop this!" Liz screamed out, she was beside herself at how stubborn her best friend was being.

"Can I ask what's going on without someone biting my head off?" Alex meekly inquired.

"She's being stubborn!" Both girl's shouted at the same time as each pointed an excusing finger at each other. Leaving Alex still completely in the dark.

Part 16

It had taken the patience's of a saint or so Alex had thought to finally persuade his two girlfriends to explain what was causing them to have this showdown of sorts. Trying to be the reasonable one and not get on either of their bad sides, Alex finally played the diplomatic role.
"The way I see it, Maria is right Liz. You have no choice but to at least show up for the party."

"WHAT? Alex, I thought you were my friend. I thought of all people you would understand why I can't go." Liz cried out.

"I am your friend and that's why I think you need to go."

Maria stuck her tongue out at her friend as if they were once again only five years old. "See I told you, you have to go."

Before Liz could even dignify a reply with her own tongue waving. Alex held up his hands between the two girls. "Maria, your right about Liz having to go to the party, but your wrong about Liz not telling Max the truth of what we discovered yesterday. It would be wrong to start their marriage out with a lie between them this big." It was Liz that started to nod her head as if she won the war. But, before she got two nods in, Alex turned back to her. "And your wrong too Liz, if you think that you should break off your engagement without even giving Max the choice. From the way I've seen him look at you, I don't think the throne means half as much as you do to him. Now I know you well enough to know that you think your doing the noble thing here. But, if it was me and I had the choice between the woman I love and being King. There wouldn't even be a choice to make. Love is too rare now adays to just throw it away like it means nothing. And from what you told us about the views of the Antarian people, they would be more offended if you walked away from Max, then standing beside him as his Princess versus someday being his Queen."

Liz plopped down on her bed in defeat. Knowing Alex was only speaking the truth. "But, what if he chooses the throne instead of me? I don't think my heart could handle his rejection. Or what if in another month Max's meets his true destiny and decides he really does love her because she truly is the one made for him?"

It was Maria who sat down beside her friend, wrapping her arm around her shoulder in a comforting manner. "Liz, that's the chance we take
when we give our hearts to someone. But, you have to give Max the choice. It's not fair for you to make a decision about his future without telling him the truth. Hon, for what it's worth. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Max loves you. It's so easy to see. Don't throw away your shot at happiness based on a what if. It's not fair to you and it's not fair to Max."

Liz attempted to smile at her friend, but she was still so unsure of her future that her attempt failed miserably. "What did I do to deserve friends like you two?"

"I'm not sure, but you know we have your back no matter what happens right?" Liz nodded her head and this time was able to give them a somewhat decent smile. "OKAY then, let's open that package now. I'm dying to see what your dress is going to look like!" Maria happily enthused.

Both Alex and Liz shook their heads at Maria's excitement. But, Maria's bubbling personality was one of the many reasons they both loved her dearly. So, without further hesitation, Liz started to unwrap her package. The dress was stunning. A full length ball gown spun of golden silk. It was form fitting in the front, but the back was opened with gathered material draped around the opening down to the small of her back. The end of the dress had a trestle on it, that trained behind the dress, ensuring the wearing of the dress to look the part of a Princess. Just like with her first date, with Max. There were also shoes, intimate apparel and accessories to match the dress perfectly. "My God Liz, you are going to be a Princess!" Maria stated as she took in the dress that Liz held up to her body. "I mean, you said the party was going to be formal, but WOW!"

"Maria's right, WOW!" Alex too exclaimed at seeing the dress and Liz hadn't even tried it on yet.

Maria sent Alex out to grab them all a bite to eat. She was pretty sure that between her and Alex they had all but convinced Liz that she needed to attend the party, but she wasn't taking any chances that her friend's stubbornness would show it's ugly head again. A few hours later the three of them were just sitting around talking like old times to pass the time, when another knock came to Liz's door. This time it was her parents who were carrying another package. "The royal seamstress brought this by for you Maria and we figured you were here so we offered to bring this to you. One came for you too Alex, but we dropped it off in your quarters as I doubt Max would understand you getting ready with the girls." Nancy Parker explained as she came into the room, handy Maria her package. Seeing the three friends sitting there together, gave Nancy a warm feeling inside of her. They had been together for so long, it was nice to see them continue their friendship. Even on a whole other planet.

"We don't have much time, as we've been informed there are quite a few legal matters that we need to attend to. I guess it's not every day a Prince gets engaged and as the parents of the possible future Queen of Antar we are the ones stuck with all the legal mumble jumble stuff." Jeff Parker stated, smiling at his only daughter, then added. "But, your more then worth the headache."

"Dad, I wo..." Liz wanted to tell her parents the truth, that she wouldn't be the Queen someday, but stopped herself in mid sentence. As much as she wanted to let her parents know the truth, Max deserved to know first. Well, besides Maria and Alex, but she couldn't help that. They had been there when she herself had discovered the truth. "I love you both so much." She said instead and hugged both her parents tightly before they said another good bye with her mother promising to come back and help her get ready after they were ready. Little did any of them know, Liz would have the services of the royal chambers to help prepare her for her first official party as Prince Maxwell Philips fiance.

Several hours prior to the party, an entire party of royal chambermaids entered Liz's room stating it was their honor to prepare their future princess for her engagement party. They bathed her, pampered her, dressed her, did her make-up and hair. By the time they were finished with her and she looked at herself in the mirror, Liz barely recognized herself. She was stunning and she looked every bit the part of a princess that she was to be. Maria couldn't stop goggling over how beautiful she was and when her mother arrived, she was speechless at the way her daughter had grown into such a gem of a woman. It was King Alexander's idea for her parents to escort Liz to the party so she could make a grand entrance, while Alex agreed to be Maria's escort.

The four of them were escorted courtesy of the royal guards of the palace. Not so much for protection, as Antar was truly a peaceful world, but more for show. They could hear the music being played and many voices talking as the approached the formal ball room of the castle. Maria was completely taken with one of the royal guards and noticed that he too kept sneaking glances in her direction. She made a mental note to ask Max who the guard was. The Earth party was halted just outside the grand ball room and the guard that had caught Maria's eye left them for a few moments. A minute later the music stopped and the doors swung open as they heard their presences being announced over the loud speaker. More precisely Liz's presences was being announced.

With her head held high and her shoulder's straightened Liz stepped in the ball room. The people of Antar had opened a path for her to walk by them and at the end of the path, Max stood with a smile upon his face that made her heart skip a beat. He was dressed in his formal Prince of Antar wardrobe, complete with sash and crown. Zan stood to his side dressed very similar also with his crown upon his head. King Alexander stood on the other side of Max and was the first one to official greet his future daughter in law. Showing all of his people that he approved of his son's choice in wife. He held his hands out to Liz and proceeded to kiss both sides of her cheeks. "You are as beautiful as the most enchanting rose, my dear." He complimented before taking her hand and leading her back to his two sons.

Zan was the next to greet Liz formal. Taking her hand in his, he kissed it softly. "Stunning is the only word that comes to mind when my eyes look upon your beauty...Sweets." He gave her a quick wink knowing she felt nervous at having all the eyes of Antar upon her.

Then Zan stepped back and Max was in front of her. He knelt before her as he took her hand in his. Bowing his head formally, he stated. "I vow to love you from now until the end of time." He whispered as he placed the large diamond engagement ring upon her finger, then rose to his feet. Kissing the ring upon her finger, he held both their hands high for all their world to see it was now official. Applause thundered throughout the grand ball room as the people of Antar cheered in acceptance of Max and Liz's engagement.

Needless to say, Liz hadn't been expecting this and with the love shining in Max's eyes she had lost all thoughts of what she was supposed to tell him prior to them making their engagement announced officially. Max leaned over and whispered in her ear. "It's custom for us to dance and rejoice in our newly found love. Would you do me the honor of allowing me to lead you in our first dance as a newly engaged royal couple?" He asked and all Liz could do was nod her head slightly accepting his offer. The music once again filled the room, Liz noticed immediately the melody that was being played and the two of them glided effortlessly together on the grand ball room floor. Wrapped in each other's arms and their love shining brightly for all to bask in the glow of it. "You take my breath away Elizabeth Parker." He whispered in her ear as he continued to move them gracefully around the dance floor, to the melody he had created especially just for them.

Their engagement party was another night of fairy tales. Liz was introduced to several members of the high council members that hadn't already had the privilege to meet her before. She spoke with several of the township officials from around the planet that had come just to meet her specifically and had easily won their acceptance of her. She met hundreds of people that were just among the many who lived on this great planet. The workers, the teachers, the doctors, the farmers. All of them had a place in their world and it was easy to see that they were never made to feel like they were unworthy to be among the royal family. For they were what made this great planet so great to begin with and the royal family never lost sight of that knowledge that so many leaders of other worlds had. It was a utopia society they lived in and it showed in their smiles and laughter.

For Max and Liz, the two of them had danced in-between their introductions, along with dancing with other fellow Antarians. The party itself was a great success with all of Antar watching and seeing their new princess to be, most for the first time. By the end of the evening, Liz truly felt like a princess and had been swept away in the moment. But, the minute it was time to bid their guest a farewell and leave the party together, reality crashed back down on her like a ton of bricks. It was time to tell Max the truth.

I do apologize about leaving everyone hanging for an extra week. My hubby surprised me with a mini vacation. Just me, him and NO kids last week. Needless to say I had a FANTASTIC time. Anyway on with the fairytale.

Just a warning, this part will be more ADULT. I know I already posted that in the rating of this story, but so far it's been pretty mild. I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning first. So here is the next part, hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

Part17

For three months Max had held himself in check. Been the perfect gentleman and treated Liz with the utmost respect. Even when their kisses turned dangerously deep and every ounce of him wanted to take their relationship to that next level. Even when Liz herself melted into his arms and he had known that she had wanted him to make love to her as much as he did her on many nights during their two month courtship. But, he had kept his control. Refused to allow his lust or hers to sweep them away until it was time. The night he had asked her to marry him and she had accepted finally with an enthusiactic yes. His heart had burst with joy and it took every ounce of control within him not to make love to her on that glorious night. But, he still held himself in check.

As much as he desired her, he wanted her to be his forever. He wanted to be able to bond with her, make her his forever the night they became intimate lovers for the first time. He loved her completely inside and out. He could feel the love she held for him and it was intoxicating to know that she loved him just as much as he loved her. His desire never went away, with every kiss, every touch, every look he let her know how much he desired to be with her. He knew his patience was driving her crazy with want as much as it was him.

It was mutually agreed between them, that on the night of their engagement party, they would finally give themselves to each other and during their first intimate encounter they would bond themselves to each other. People of Antar could have sexual intercourse with many partners and not go through a bonding. Zan was a prime example of that possibility. In fact, bonded couples were rare, even the majority of married couples on Antar weren't bonded. Because to bond to one another was not just a physical joining of bodies. But, it was the bonding of the two individual's souls. Max had spoken the truth about there being no divorce on Antar. But, marrying someone in this life was a lot more different than bonding to someone. Literally bonding your souls for eternity to each other. Max had held nothing back, had been completely up front and honest with her about what exactly it meant to be bonded to another. When all was said and done he was so filled with joy that Liz had declared she wanted to bond herself to him too that he had lost most of his controlled patience. But, both agreed that they wanted to bond on a special night. So they had agreed to wait until the night of their engagement party, both agreeing that they could never last until their wedding night.

Yes, they could have just agreed that the night of their engagement party they could have just made love. But, their love was so intense, so strong that both knew that when they finally gave in to their passion, just making love would never be enough. So Max had waited patiently, biding his time and took so many cold showers that he was sure Antar would run out of water before their engagement party got here.

The night he had coached both his mind and body to wait for was finally here. All through the night, Max continued his role as the perfect gentleman on the outside, no one would have guessed at the explosion of passion waiting so patiently under the surface though. So, when it came time for the young couple to bid their guests a good night, Max's mind, body and soul was more than ready to complete their agree upon union.

Liz had gotten swept away in the fairy tale her life had become since her first meeting with Max. She had allowed her heart to take over in lieu of her brain for the evening and Max had literally swept her off her feet as soon as they had left the grand ball room. Picking her up in his arms, he begun to carry her to his own suite. Liz knew it was time to leave the fairy tale behind and tell Max the truth, so as he began to carry her away to fulfill a night of passion they had both originally planned to end their evening with, Liz spoke up. "Max, we need to..."

Max's steps increased, his body unable to hold back his desire for the beautiful creature he held in his arms. He had been patient and talking was the last thing on his mind at the moment. He leaned down and took her lips against his, cutting off her sentence, as he moved swiftly through the corridors of the castle. His heart driven by love, his body with passion. His kiss started gently like all their other kisses before had. But, the closer he got to his suite, the more passionate the kiss became. In fact he didn't release her mouth until they were already at his room. Still holding her in his arms, his mouth drawn to her neck as he opened and shut the door behind him. Kissing, sucking and nipping ever so gently upon her flesh that made Liz's head spin with desire. "M..Max, oh..uh..we really...YES, oh Yes right there." Liz half panted, half moaned out. Her intent to get Max's attention, so she could tell him the truth was lost when his lips sucked right on her pleasure point upon her lower neck.

He had completely seduced her with his kisses to the point where she hadn't even realized they had already made it to his bedroom. His hand grazing softly across the opening of her dress sent shivers up her spine as her body temperature rose. He unhooked the dress smoothly and as he laid her down upon his bed, his mouth trailed kisses down her neck to her upper chest as her dress was removed from her upper body. By the time he had kissed her body all the way down to her feet, Liz found herself lying there with only the silk teddy upon her body. She hardly noticed that he was undressing her, when he had. Her mind and body was too caught up with passion for the man she loved due to his mind blowing kisses. But, once he stood and began to remove his own top, reality came back to her mind. "Max, listen please. I really need to tell you something."

Max's gaze was full of lust and desire, all his patience, his self control had already snapped. He leaned down and took her lips once again in another passionate kiss. Still leaning over her, his lips just a breath pulled back, he whispered. "Later." Then replaced his lips, devouring her like a starved man. Her taste so sweet, so addictive he couldn't get enough of her. He loved every single part of her and he had worshipped every second he had gotten to spend with her during their few months together. Now it was time to show her how much he worshipped her body physically. His hands softly roamed over her body from her hair to her hips. Caressing her delicate skin with his hands, fingers and lips gracefully. He had yet to touch any real intimate parts of her body, but it didn't matter. She was in his arms, in his bed and tonight was theirs.

Just the thought of their upcoming bonding was more then enough to get Max's body excited. But, having Liz laying on his bed. Only clothed in a sexy silky teddy had his desires skyrocketing at an alarming rate.
The way her body responded to his touch, the way she moved her lips with his as they gave into their passion and the way her hands felt upon his own skin was more then enough to drive him to the edge. He had pulled away from her once to try to undress himself, but the moment her angelic voice seeped into his lust filled brain he was drawn back to her instantly. So far he had only managed to remove his crown, royal sash and unbutton his shirt. Which allowed Liz's hands to move over his chest, sending shockwaves of desire throughout his entire body. Max had never wanted to be one with another person more then he did with Liz in that moment.

Max wasn't the only one being driven by desire. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Liz knew she had to talk to Max. Had to tell him the truth before they bonded themselves to each other forever. But, with each kiss, each caress, every touch the thought of stopping to tell him whatever it was that she needed to tell him was slipping further and further from her mind. All she could do was feel Max's love and desire surround her and her own love and desire was easily returned. When he had pulled away for just those few seconds, she had tried to regain her self control long enough to set the record straight. She had even gotten out that she needed to tell him something, but then his lips were upon hers once again and his hands magically touched her just the way her body needed to be touched. With his shirt hanging open she was able to feel his warm flesh and strong muscles of his chest which only pushed any thoughts of why they needed to stop further away.

She loved Max completely and wanted to share herself with him in every way. The way he was loving her body so completely and yet he hadn't really touched any part of her body that some would consider too personal. In fact, she was the one to first step over the boundaries when her hand slipped down his chest and she cupped his straining buldge over his pants. Illiciting a moan of desire to erupt from deep inside of Max. His body responded to her simple touch and pressed further into her hand. Demanding more, while savoring the feel of her hand upon him. "Liz, I can't wait any longer. I want to bond with you now." He whispered next to her ear in a deep voice fulled with desire.

His words of bonding, brought Liz back to reality. She removed her hand realizing how far she had let things go. Pushing slighlty on his chest, she replied. "Max, there is nothing I want more then to bond myself to you. But, I have to tell you something that may change your mind about wanting to bond to me."

His mind had been so filled with passion, so focused on bonding to Liz that all others thoughts had completely vanished from his mind. Until he heard her words and looked into her eyes and saw that she meant what she had said. His first instinct was to deny what she had just said and return his lips to hers, but something in her eyes made him know he needed to hear what she had to say. He moved to lay next to her, his hands still cupping his face, he replied. "Nothing you can say will change the way I feel about you, my love."

Casting her eyes down away from his, her lip trembled with fear of losing him, she began. "You know how you've always stated I was the one."

"You are."

His words were quick and spoke with such positive passion that it made Liz's heart soar with joy. If she hadn't seen the proof herself, she would have believed him completely. Lifting her head and taking a deep breath, Liz stated. "The program finished Earth's DNA, I didn't meet the criteria Max. I'm not your genetic match. I'm not the one that will ensure you the crown. I love you Max and I want to be with you, to bond myself to you. But, I love you enough to also understand if you change your mind about wanting to bond to me."

Max pulled back with a questioning look upon his face. "I thought we agreed not to test your DNA, did you not trust my heart enough to know the truth?" What she had said made absolutely no sense to him? He had even gone so far to remove her DNA from the Earth samples just so there would never be any doubt. He needed no test to tell him what he felt in his heart. So he was a little taken back that she would have gone behind his back and tested her own DNA.

Not understanding why Max was becoming upset, not because she didn't meet the criteria, but because she was tested in the first place. So she quickly tried to explain what had happened. "Max, I didn't test myself and I did trust your heart. But, the program ran through the samples of Earth because we didn't stop the automatic program. Then when I showed Alex your system and he began to play aroun. He asked about a program and I was talking to Maria and before I thought twice about what program he was asking about, he opened it. I wasn't on the list."

Liz was almost scared to look at Max, scared to see his rejection of her. When no words were spoken from Max, she finally raised her eyes to look upon his face. The smile he was sprouting took her by surprise. In fact, he didn't stop with just a smile, but proceeded to chuckle, then a full feldge laugh erupted and Liz's shock at his response to her revelation grew rapidly. "What are you laughing at, this isn't funny Max? Didn't you hear what I said? I wasn't on the list!" His laughter almost making her angry.

Trying to compose himself, he apologized. "I'm sorry." More chuckles.
"It's just that, I thought..then to find out..it's just funny."

"You think it's funny that you thought I was the one, then to find out I'm not is making you laugh." Liz had thought over what Max's response would be like a hundred times today. But, laughter wasn't one of the responses she had thought would take precidence.

Pulling himself together finally, he tried to explain his reaction a little better. "No, no. I'm sorry for laughing it's just that, I thought you had tested yourself and than to find out that you thought you weren't the one for me due to not being on the list as a match from the samples of Earth." His eyes grew serious once again. "Liz, my love, I removed your DNA samples from the ones we got from Earth. You didn't make the list of genetic matches, because you were never tested.
I don't need a test to know what's in my heart. I told you that before and it stands true now. I love YOU, Elizabeth Parker. No test is going to change how my heart feels. Now, where were we." He leaned over her to take another taste of her sweet lips.

Liz raised her finger to his lips stopping them from connecting with hers at the last second. "Are you sure? I don't want you to have any doubts. I trust your heart, but I don't want you to lose the throne.
How do you know for sure now that you've removed my DNA?" The thought that he had done that was so sweet, so caring that her heart was fluttering with joy. But, she had to ask, had to know he truly didn't care if he lost the throne before they bonded.

Looking into her eyes, his love shining brightly for her in them. He whispered. "I know, because it's you." Kissing her finger prior to pulling it away only to replace her lips upon his instead. He was done talking, it was time for them to bond themselves together once and for all.

Part 18

After the guest had left, Zan sat in the study nursing a glass of wine.
He had thought about swiftly downing the drink to make him forget about what was happening tonight. Max was going to bond to Liz, making her his forever and as happy as he was for his brother. It still pained his heart to know that Max had won. Not because he was going to lose the throne to his brother or because he wouldn't have the power of the Granolith at his disposal. No, his heart ached because Max had won the most precious prize of all. Liz's heart.

King Alexander noticed his son in the study and quietly made his way to him. Placing his hand upon his son's shoulder, he asked. "Zan, are you okay?"

Nodding his head at first, trying to keep up the front that everything was just fine. He had no right to feel upset when he should be happy for the love his brother had found. But, try as he might, his head began to shake no as a single tear ran down his cheek. "It hurts, father. I don't want to feel like this, I shouldn't feel like this, but I do. It hurts a lot."

"I understand Zan and I wish there could've been another way, I truly do. I'm sorry, my son." He meant what he had said. From the moment it became known to him what the future held for his two son's he knew one would be hurt. His heart felt the pang of hurt for his son knowing he had kept his true feelings to himself during his brother's courtship with Elizabeth Parker.

Zan turned to look at his father, realizing for the first time that his father had known how he had felt about Liz. "How did you find out?"

Alexander gave his son a small smile. "Let's just say I know both my sons." He paused for a brief moment, before adding. "I'm proud of you Zan. Giving your brother his happiness without interference, it truly shows the kind of man you are. The loyalty you have for those you love and respect. Putting the happiness of other's before your own happiness. I am proud of the man you have become my son."

Zan nodded his head, accepting his father's compliment. He loved and respected his father more then any other living soul and to know he had made his father proud made him feel slightly better. He lifted his head to meet his father's proud eyes and with a serious tone to his voice he asked. "Do you think she's the one?"

"I can't answer that question. Only you and Max would know the answer to that one. I do know that you both felt something for Elizabeth that neither of you have felt before for any other female. That itself says a lot to me, especially with all your prior experience."

Zan blushed at the realization that his father knew of the way he had chosen to seek his Queen. Yes, he knew his father knew of his many dates. But, Max was the only individual that he had ever revealed of his many intimate conquest. "Father, I..."

King Alexander quickly interrupted his son, knowing what he was about to say. "I'm not judging you Zan. But, I do think it's time that you allow your heart to find the answer that you seek in lieu of other parts of your body. Only your heart can guide you in the right direction."

A single tear ran down Zan's cheek as he confessed his true heart to his father. "I can't do that father. I fear my heart belongs to the one my brother already won."

Shaking his head, Alexander replied. "No, Zan. Your brother found his other half, now it is up to you to find yours."

Zan tilted his head in question at his father's statement. He had understood that there was only one woman made for them. That only one woman would make them whole as their other half. If Max had found the one, then how would it be possible for him to ever find his other half.
"I don't understand father, I thought there was only one?" It was a statement asked as a question.

"That is true as far as seeking a Queen to gain the throne Zan. There was only one female made, but that does not mean Liz is the one. You can find love without finding your other half. Why do you think so many married couples on Antar that truly love each other have not bond themselves to each other in this life?" He paused for a moment letting his question hang unanswered in the air. "The answer is simple my son, because your heart will tell you when you love someone versus when you've found your other half of your soul. Follow your heart Zan, let it guide you and when you do, I promise you it will not fail you."
With that said Alexander squeezed his son's shoulder, then left the room to leave Zan with his own thoughts.

Zan took another sip of his drink as his mind pondered over the conversation he had just had. It was true that he did feel something for Liz, but he had never even attempted to try to find out what those feelings were due to the way Max felt about Liz. He knew for a fact that Max had refused to test Liz's DNA because of the way he felt for her. Remembering his father's words, only he and Max would be able to answer the question if Liz was the one or not. Yes, Max loved Liz. Yes, he was happy for his brother for finding his true love. But, did that really mean that Liz was the one. Setting his drink down, he realized he had to find out for himself once and for all.

Meanwhile in another part of the castle, Max was giving everything he felt for Liz in a passionate kiss. His love, his desire, everything. His fingers ran through her hair, his hands caressed her shoulders, her arms, her neck. Cupping her face once again and tilted it to give him even better access to her mouth. His tongue blending with hers as he continued to devour her sweet taste. He couldn't stop kissing her, touching her, worshipping her.

Liz's hands weren't idle either, they roamed over his back, his exposed chest, the nape of his neck. Urging him onward, requesting more and Max was more then willing to give into her wants and needs. Liz tried to remove his shirt completely, but she refused to let go of him for the few moments it would take to relinquish it from his body. They way he was possessing her mouth and body, was driving her insane with the need for more. Yet, she didn't want to lose the contact they already had at the same time. Driven by love and desire for each other, their hearts were racing with anticipation. But, they refused to rush their union. They had yearned for this moment for what felt like an eternity even though in Earth's time table it had only been a few months of their lives.

Now that she had been able to tell Max the truth and he had told her the facts, there was nothing standing between them. Nothing to hold back their flooding emotions for each other. Words of love were spoken between kisses. For whatever the reason was that they had come to know each other, it no longer mattered for in their hearts they knew the truth. They were meant to be together. Max had waited his entire life to find her and now that she was in his arms he was more then ready to show her exactly how she made him feel. His hands moved to the silk strap of the lingerie upon her body. Moving it slowly to the side of her shoulder as his lips kissed her soft neck and skin where it had been only moments before. First one side, then the other. Slowly moving the straps on each side downward with his touch only to be followed by his lips. Kissing, sucking, nipping along her neck, shoulders and arms. Only to have his lips glide across her upper chest in a slow sensual seduction that was making Liz's toes curl with anticipation.

The way Max was worshipping her body, was driving Liz crazy with hunger for more of what he had to offer. When his lips came in contact with her breast bone and slowly started making their way to her right breast, Liz's breath caught in her throat as a rush of desire warmed her insides. She was so ready to be touched intimately by the man who had won her heart that her mind and body were screaming for him to take her. Liz felt the silky lingerie being pushed downward and when her one breast finally became exposed to the air of Max's warm breath, her nipple responded immediately even though he hadn't even really touched her there as of yet. The beauty of her exposed body took Max's breath away for a second as his eyes took in the sight before him. Her nipple aroused and calling to him. His lips came down and ever so gently kissed the very tip of her nipple, causing a soft moan to escape from Liz as her back arched toward his lips wanting more, so much more.

Max lifted his head, meeting her lust filled eyes with his own. "Your so beautiful Liz, my love. So beautiful." He bent his head once again and ran his tongue around the aroused nipple, then softly blew on it before sucking it gently into his mouth. All the while tantalizing it with his tongue while holding it captive inside the warmth wetness of his mouth. "Yes, yes. Oh, Max! YES!" He had teased her body into such a wanton state that one simple intimate act was almost enough to send her flying over the edge.

Max's other hand cupped her left breast as his mouth continued to pleasure her right. Her words of want only encouraging him in his ministrations. Her skin felt like silk to him, her taste was one his body and mouth were quickly becoming addicted to and he was finding it hard not to rush their joining. "I love you, I love you so much." He whispered against her breast as he switch from loving one to the other, then back again. His body moving more fully on top of hers as he allowed her to feel the effect her body was having on his.

Once Liz felt the hardness of his love for her, that was it. She didn't want to wait another second to feel him complete her. "Please, Max." She begged, needing him to fill her, making her his forever as her body opened more readily for him. Her hips lifting slightly to feel him closer and to show him what she was begging him for with action more then words.

Denying her request was no longer possible, as much as Max wanted to explore and worship every inch of her body. He knew neither of them could wait another moment for their bodies and souls to be joined. Moving up just enough for his lips to join with hers for another taste of her sweet lips before he pulled away to finish removing his clothing. His already unbuttoned shirt was removed in a haste and left on the ground without any second thought to it. His hands moving to undo his pants, but Liz's had been quicker. Kneeling on the bed before him, her small fingers went straight for the button of his pants as he quickly removed shirt unable to wait for him to do both. She just got the button undone, when their time for each other was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. Their eyes meeting, questioning the other if they should ignore the knock or if they should stop and find out who was at the door. Especially considering their close friends and family members knew what this night meant to both of them.

Another knock on the door came once again, this time with a voice that was familiar, yet had an air of desperation to it. "Max, it's Zan. I need to speak with you."

Both Liz and Max knew Zan wouldn't have interrupted their special night without good reason. Max gave Liz an apologetic look, that Liz only accepted with a nod as she pulled the silky covers around her body to cover her body as Max moved to the door.

Opening it only enough for his head to peak out. "What's wrong?" Was the first question to come to mind. Max had told Zan what he had planned to do this evening, so he knew that if his brother had come to his door there had to be something wrong. One look at his brother's face, Max's thoughts were confirmed. Something was wrong.

"Max...I..uh.." Zan struggled to find the right words to say what he needed to say. He didn't want to hurt his brother nor Liz, but he couldn't let the two of them bond together without knowing the truth.
Was Liz the one?

Opening the door more wider to allow himself to step into the hallway of their private suites. Seeing his brother in total state of turmoil was new to Max. Zan was the one that was out going, always spoke his mind and carried himself with such self confidence that Max had never seen him look utterly confused in his life. Reaching his hand out to touch his brother's arm in comfort. "Zan, what is it?" His concern for his brother coming out loud and clear in his voice.

Zan looked his brother in the eye, his eyes full of sadness and guilt. "I'm sorry Max, I know how much this evening meant to you. I..uh..I."
He stuttered once again, the guilt over what he was about to say eating away at him, but he had to say it.

"It's okay Zan, just tell what's wrong and we'll deal with it."

"You can't bond to Liz tonight." Zan finally stated after a long moment of silence.

Taken back by what his brother had just said, Max whispered out. "What?"

Now that he had gotten out the hard part, Zan rushed forward. "Max, I'm sorry. I didn't want to do this, but I have to know and if you bond to Liz then we may never know the truth. I know you love Liz and I know she loves you. But, I've got to know if what I think is the truth or not. I know I'm not making any sense and I don't want to ruin your night, but please bro, it's important. I'm not asking for you to not bond with Liz forever, just..not tonight."

Max stepped away from his brother in shock of all the things that were running through his mind, Zan asking him not to bond himself to Liz was one of the furthest things he could have imagined. Shaking his head in disbelieve at his brother, Max took a step back toward his bedroom door. Zan knew he had failed by the look on his brother's face. It shamed him to even ask what he had of his brother, but he still had to know. Reaching out he grasped Max's arm to stop his retreat. "Maxwell, please." Was the only words he got out before Max yanked his arm free and closed the door in Zan's face.

Title: Seeking A Queen
For Disclaimer & Summary see Prologue

Part 20

Max stepped back into his quarters angry as hell for what his brother had just asked of him. How could Zan ask that of him, for Zan of all people understood what this night meant to him? What Liz meant to him.
Max never considered himself a violent individual, he never fought with anyone. With the exception when he had thought that his brother and Liz had betrayed him, but his emotions for Liz had over ruled all logical sense at the time and Zan had more then understood what had provoked such a violent reaction in him at the time. Now, once again he found himself feeling the need to rip his brother's head off. Why? Why, did Zan ask that of him? Tonight of all nights. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his personal angel's voice. "Max? Is everything okay?" Liz stood before him wrapped in his bed covers, unsure of what had happened.

Trying to give her a warm smile to reassure her everything was fine, he replied. "Yes, everything's just fine." He approached her slowly, his anger toward his brother deflating as his feelings of love for her took over. He brushed a soft tender kiss across her lips, before asking. "Now where were we?"

Liz had no idea what had happened, but the moment his lips touched hers all thoughts and cares of what had just took place left her mind. Replaced by desire and love for the man who stood before her. Dropping the bed cover to expose her body to him once again, she whispered. "I think we were just about here." As she pressed her body more fully against his while her hands undid his pants once again.

Without hesitation, Max swept her up in his arms and carried her back to his bed as his mouth devoured hers in a soul searching kiss. Full of love and desire. Laying her down upon his bed gently, but this time he removed his own pants before joining her on his bed. As he positioned himself half on top of her, he whispered back. "I think you're correct." His lips caressing along her neck as his hands caressed along her body. His need to become one with her once again a top priority at the moment. His fingers roaming lower and lower down her stomach, through her soft curls until they came in contact with the treasure of their desire. Slowly, experimentally he learned Liz's ultimate personal spots of her body with each moan and movement she made.

Liz was in heaven, there was no other words to describe the feelings Max was inducing upon her body. His fingers were working magic on her, from sliding in and out of her wetness to driving her crazy with want for more when he circled her nub of desire only to replunge back inside her body. All the while, his mouth switching from her breast, to licking her nipples, to kissing her breathless. When he dipped his head to continue giving her pleasure upon her most intimate area with not only his fingers, but with his tongue that was Liz's undoing. Leaving Liz in a constant state of orgasmic pleasure she never knew could be possible.

Her moans only encouraging Max to continue his assault. The taste of her sweet nectar becoming his new addiction. Max lapped away, sucking and licking. His tongue and fingers switching back and forth from plunging inside to driving forcefully, yet with such tenderness against her pretty pink nub. Driving Liz over the edge again and again until Liz was literally melting into the bed as if her body was made of jello. Using the last of her strength she pulled at Max's head. "Max, please! I need you now. Make love to me, please. Now, Max, NOW!" She begged as she continued to pull Max up her body in a straining effort to have him fill her to completion.

Max willing moved over her body, positioning his to become one with hers. His own erection straining and guiding him with it's own desire that matched hers. Just as the tip of his penis was at the core of her opening, his eyes met hers. "I love you Elizabeth Parker, I will love you forever, for all eternity." He whispered the words of commitment, of his pledge to love her forever, to bond his soul to hers. As his body moved slowly inside of hers.

"And I love you Prince Maxwell. I will love you forever, for all eternity." She repeated the same words, the words Max had already informed her she would need to say to bond herself to him as they made love. She lifted her hips to take Max further inside her body as she said the words of love back to him.

Max hit her maidenhood and knew the moment he pierced through, Liz would be bonded to him for all eternity. They had already spoken their pledge of love to each other, their bodies were already partially joined. All that was left was this one final barrier to bond them to each other forever. He had no doubts that Liz was the one made for him, not in his mind, not in his heart, nor in his soul. He also had no doubts that Liz felt the same way for him that he did for her. But, for some reason he couldn't do it. As much as he wanted to bond to her, to make love to her and to claim her as his forever. He couldn't.
The pleading eyes of his brother ran through his mind at that moment and Max knew what was preventing him from doing exactly what every once of his being was screaming to do. Zan's words ran through him like a knife, I have to know the truth.

It wasn't that Max had any doubts about the truth as far as Liz and him were concern. It was the pleading look in Zan's eyes that made him finally understand why Zan had come to his room on this night. It wasn't to stop him from bonding to Liz forever, just to seek the truth before they were bonding for his own personal knowledge. Then it hit him like a freight train, he knew the truth. Had no doubts regarding what his heart, body and mind were telling him, but Zan didn't and as hard as it was for him to stop himself from bonding to Liz at that very moment. He owed his brother the same knowledge that he already possessed. The truth of who Elizabeth Parker was.

Liz had felt the moment Max had stopped his movements as looked upon his face in questioning. "Max?"

"I can't. I mean, we can't Liz." He withdrew from her body and collapsed upon her in sheer agony for having to stop what they both so desperately wanted. "I'm sorry Liz, I'm so sorry." He cried into her shoulder, his own body trembling with the need to complete their bonding.

Liz's arms wrapped around his body and held him close to hers. Knowing that Max hadn't really wanted to stop their bonding, but knowing there was something that was preventing him for doing exactly what they both had wanted. She didn't know what it was, all she knew for sure was the man she loved was in agony and she did the only thing she could think to do, she held him close and soothed his body with her arms hoping to take the pain away that he was feeling. When his body stopped quivering, she finally sought the answers to the questions she was needing. "What happened in the hallway Max?" For she knew whatever had happened between Max and his brother had been the reason that was preventing them from bonding themselves to each other.

Max looked into her eyes, pleading with her to understand. "Zan..He doesn't know and he deserves to know the truth. I'm sorry Liz, but we can't bond until he knows. It's not fair to him and as much as I want you to be bonded to me forever, I owe my brother the truth before we do. Please understand, I love you. I will always love you and desire you, but he is my brother and I..."

Placing a single finger to his lips, she halted his explanation, knowing exactly what he was trying to say. He wasn't rejecting their bonding because he didn't love her or didn't find her desirable. He was asking her to understand their bonding was only being delayed so he could help his brother. His loyalty to his family, his heart too large to do no more, only making her own heart burst for even more love for the man she held in her arms. "It's okay Max, I understand. We will bond ourselves to each other, it just won't be tonight." She hugged him even tighter to her body. "I love you so much Max, it doesn't matter if we bond tonight or tomorrow or next year. I'll wait forever for you if I have to and when it's time I'll be there with my arms opened wide."

Throughout their courtship, it had been Max the entire time that had been the one to swear his oath to wait for her to see they were meant to be together. It had been Max that had always been the one to pursue Liz and let her see what he had already known from the first moment he had seen her in that dark lab. Now, when he needed her to understand and without going into complete detail, to ask her to wait for him. It was Liz that was there giving him her love and making her own pledge of love to wait for him for as long as he needed her to. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and held her tightly against him. "I love you, thank you."

"You don't have to thank me Max. I love you, it doesn't matter if we're bonded or not. You already own my heart."

"And mind is yours, always." Their lips met once again in a passionate kiss, full of love.

Pushing him back until he was laying on his back, he looked up at her questioned. "Liz? What are....." That was all the further his voice was able to speak as her hand wrapped around his still fully aroused erection causing him to lose his voice for a moment. Once he understood what she was about to do, he placed his hand over hers. "Liz, you don't have to do this."

Liz gave him a stern look, before replying. "If you think that just because we aren't going to make love tonight, that I have any intention of leaving you unsatisfied you are sorely mistaken, my Prince. Especially after the pleasure you have already given me. Know I want you to lay back, relax and remember how much I love you." She demanded as she removed his hand from hers, before replacing hers once again upon his manhood. She stroked him slowly at first, letting herself become familiar with what Max liked. Letting her fingers run along his length, around his head, down to his balls.

At first Max wanted to argue that she didn't need to do what she apparently thought she needed to do for him. But, his argument was halted by the determined look in her eyes. As her hand began to move over him, all the fight ran out of him. Their eyes locked, their love for each other easily seen in the other's eyes. He endured her sweet torture as she explored and learned his body's wants and needs just as he had hers. He had already been so primed and ready to make love to her, that he knew once she stopped her exploration, it wouldn't take her long to complete the task she was determined to fulfill. But, he just couldn't let go without her being there with him. It just didn't feel right.

His arm snaked around her body and pulled her flush against his as his mouth kissed and licked around her sensitive neck. Making Liz stop her hand movements. "Max, I thought we weren't..."

"We're aren't, keep going Liz." His hand moved down her back, over her bottom as his fingers worked their way to her tight passage once again.
His other hand went around her hand and guided it up and down his hard shaft until she was stroking him with just the right touch. Releasing her hand for to complete her job, Max went to work on his own desired job. Bringing his hand up, he cupped one of her breast softly as his lips moved to capture hers once again.

It didn't take Liz long to figure out that Max had the same desire to please her, just as much as she did to please him. So she continued to stroke him as he stroked her own fire of passion. It didn't take Max long to bring her to the edge once again and once she tore her mouth away from his and screamed out his name in pleasure, Max let go of his own control. Releasing his seed into her hand and they both continued to stroke the other until the pleasure they were sustaining was completed. Neither noticed the soft glow that surrounded them as their joined orgasms took hold of their bodies.

Nor did they realize a bright glow also surrounded another object in the castle at the precise moment that they had surrender their passion to each other after their words of commitment and love for each other.
