Chapter 21
Chapter 21
GTO 1970 Dodge Charger
“Not looking to hot there are ya, Mama?” Maria asked placing her hand over Liz’s scolding forehead to take her temperature and then quickly holding on to the steering wheel.
“Neither are you.” Liz said holding her stomach, noticing Maria was sweating just as much as she was.
“Yeah, well, I’m dating Michael Guerin. What’s your excuse?” Maria asked with a sick chuckle.
“God, you weren’t kidding about the morning sickness.” Liz said covering her mouth. “Oh, God. Pull over.” Liz demanded pulling over, swinging her door open and regurgitated what seemed to be everything she’s eaten all year. Aria got out and went to help Liz, but at the sight of Liz’s vomit she began to puke herself. “I’ll drive.” Liz moaned as she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.
”No, Liz. You’re sicker than I am and besides we’re almost there.” Maria informed her. “Why don’t you keep reading to me from the Alien Dictionary book. Tell me more about Space boy.” Maria asked trying to occupy Liz from thinking about puking anymore than she was.
“Uh, okay.” Liz said pulling the book and the translation sheets from the glove compartment. “Rath, was the general of the Royal army. Kivar was leader of another rebellious army that derived from Rath’s army, it doesn’t explain who they were, it just says with the help of Vilandra he infiltrated the palace and killed the Royal Four along with the big amount of bodyguards, personnel, etc., etc. Collateral damages. Oh, wait over here it talks more about Courtney.”
“Uh, I had enough of the hussy.” Maria rolled her eyes.
“It says she tried to seduce Rath, with ideas of love and the power of the throne, but Rath rejected her. Did you hear that? He said no!” Liz cheered.
“Yeah, probably because he had some other Antarian hussy on the side.” Maria snorted not impressed.
“Maria! There’s a page in her about their powers.” Liz said not believing how negative Maria was being. “Oh, look, a gas station. I need to get some Tic-Tacs or mouthwash to get this vomit taste out of my mouth.” Liz told her.
“Ditto.” Maria said pulling into the side of the gas station. They went inside and grabbed a bottle of minty fresh mouthwash and head back towards the car. They took their swigs of mouthwash and began to gurgle the liquid in their mouths. The spit it out the green liquid on the wall of the gas station, Maria turned around to head back towards the ca, while Liz took another swig to make sure the taste was gone. Suddenly the load roars of two men yelling startled the both of them. Maria turned to look at Liz who was at least five feet away, and before they knew it, ‘POW. POW’, the sounds of a shotgun were heard along with glass shattering. Time must have been going a mile a minute to acknowledge the split up shot gun fragments head both Maria and Liz’s way. They both covered themselves instinctively yelling, but with eerie luck, a shield bubbled around both Maria and Liz, stopping the fragments dead on their tracks. Maria ad Liz slowly opened their eyes seeing the last few seconds of the blue shields holding before they disappeared, then quickly shot a look of bewilderment to each other.
“Liz?” Maria called out.
“Yeah.”
“Did you just see what I just saw?” Maria asked still astounded. Liz just nodded. “Did you just get a new power? Because it couldn’t have been at a better time for you to do that.” Maria asked relieved.
“No. Actually I think we both did it.” Liz said in shock.

Chapter 22

Chapter 22
NYC Subway Station
“Pregnant?” Michael exclaimed in a whisper as he passed back and forth. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure.” Isabel assured him. “They were both dreaming it.”
“Maybe it was just a dream they were having?” Kyle suggested.
“Yeah, I mean you dreamt you were pregnant with my kid and it turned out to be a hoax. What makes this so different?” Michael asked with his hands at his side.
“Because it is, Michael. It felt different.” Isabel replied.
“Felt different how?” Max asked.
“Because I felt the babies.” Isabel explained. “I never felt that in my dream and besides my dreams were alien and theirs was human. It’s not the same thing.”
“I can’t believe it. You’re going to be a father…again.” Kyle said to Max in a shocked expression. “And with my ex.”
“Yep, Maxwell here is the reason why your kind invented birth control and condoms. To prevent over population of little alien Maxwell Jr.’s from running around and healing waitresses they have crushes on.” Michael sarcastically said.
“Yeah, you should have been using them too.” Max answered annoyed. “Now we’re going to have little Michael’s running around really destroying the earth and having Uncle Max to clean it up after them.”
“You wouldn’t be their uncle if you didn’t.” Michael said with a smirk.
“Oh, Luscious. Angel. Your back.” Zan announced. Everyone quickly looked to the entrance of the subway, seeing Maria and Liz standing there radiantly. Max and Michael swiftly made beelines to Liz and Maria as they were to them. Liz dropped her book bag and then hopped up on Max and began kissing him on every inch of his face and then his lips.
“I missed you so much.” Liz said between the kisses.
“I missed you more.” Max said before putting her down and brushed her hair back looking at her pale expression as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “Are you okay?” Liz lowered her head as she blushed and tucked away the strand of loose hair behind her ear as she chewed on her bottom lip.
“Uh, yeah sort of. But before we talk about that, Max, Michael, we having something to tell you about Maria.” Liz said wide-eyed.
“Maria?” Both Max and Michael questioned at the same time confused.
“Yeah, we were at the gas station and some lunatic fired a shotgun.” Liz watched as Max’s and Michael’s expression changed concerned to worried. “We were on the side of the building…”
“…anyways point is when the bullets came speeding to kill us Liz and I blocked it.” Maria finished off in the less detailed version.
“What do you mean ‘blocked it’?” Michael asked.
“Did you get another power?” Max asked getting a nod from Liz.
“Maria did too that’s the amazing thing about it.” Liz said with an excited face. Michael looked at Maria who was nodding in agreement.
“Are you sure?” Michael questioned. “Maybe it was just you, Liz.”
“I was no where near Maria when it happened.” Liz said. “But we both did it.”
“Does it have anything to do with the…” Max trailed off pointing to Liz’s stomach with his eyes.
“The baby?” Liz finished surprised.
“So it’s true.” Max said nervously. “You really are pregnant with my baby.” Butterflies fluttered inside both Liz’s and Max’s stomach when he completed that statement, ‘his baby’. Liz nodded blushing as red as ever.
“How did you know?” She asked as he hugged her, holding her head on his chest.
“Isabel.” Max whispered kissing the top of her head.
“I can’t believe it.” Michael said amazed.
“Come here Space boy.” Maria said with a smile, pulling Michael into a kiss. Liz and Max go into hug Maria and Michael, following their lead so do Isabel and Kyle.
“Congratulations!” Isabel and Kyle shouted as the Isabel, Maria and Liz jumped up and down separating from the guys to continue jumping and cheering.
“Congrats.” Ava said with a soft smile.
“Thank you.” Both Liz and Maria said hugging her.
“Whatcha gonna name em’?” Ava asked shoving her hands in her pockets.
“Oh, Kyle.” Kyle suggested. “You gotta call at least one of them Kyle.” Kyle said seeing Maria roll her eyes from the idea. “Okay, how about you Liz?”
“I’ll take it into consideration, seeing that the traditional aspect is to name the kid after the father.” Liz joked.
“The father?” Max repeated. “It’s a boy?” He asked with a big smile.
“We both are.” Liz said wrapping her arms around his neck. Michael shot a happy look to Maria and hugged her tightly.
“Oh, take it easy their Space boy, you’re squeezing Junior.” Maria huffed out.
“Oh, sorry.” Michael said releasing his grip, rubbing her tummy.
“Yeah, so we both kind of decided on something and we need you and Max to understand.” Maria advised.
“What is it?” Michael asked.
“No matter what we decided to name the baby…” Liz said taking Max’s hand and placing it on her heart. “…me and Maria would both like the baby’s middle name be Alexander…after Alex.” Liz said looking from a soft smiling Max to a nodding Michael to a teary eyed Isabel.
“So that means the baby’s name is going to be Kyle Alexander Parker.” Kyle asked happy.
“Evans.” Max corrected.
“And ‘no’ Kyle!” Liz laughed.
“Congrats, Max-a-million. Heard your other kid’s named Zan.” Zan stated walking up to an embraced Liz and Max.
“That was Tess’s decision. Not mine.” Max said aggravated by his uncalled for remark.
“Sucks man.” Zan said. “I’d want my kid to be from the chic I love, not a free ride.”
“You got something to say?” Max asked stepping up to Zan with Liz pulling on his arm to calm down.
“I already said it, Elvis.” Zan answered not backing down from Max’s cold stare.
“No, Max. Don’t.” Liz advised getting in between the two.
“Don’t?” Zan repeated. “Ain’t it killin’ you inside that Max-a-million here boned some other chic when he claims to be head over heels in love wit you?”
“Zan, that’s none of your business.” Liz whimpered as tears formed in her eyes. “Things were different back then.”
“It is my business.” Zan said softly. “Dude gots to be blind to not know you where still a virgin. From the time I first saw you I knew. And you know it too. I felt it when I healed you.”
“Shut up!” Max yelled.
“Why? Truth killin’ ya?” Zan asked seriously. “Hey, Ava’s free. After all you are the King. Gotta have another kid next year, right?” Zan said sarcastically. Ava shot a destroyed look over to Zan before storming off in tears making Zan feel guilty a little for saying that.
“Alright, cool it.” Michael said getting involved, standing behind Liz holding Max and Zan apart with one hand on Max’s chest pushing Max back and the other pushing Zan.
“Stay out of this, Lancelot.” Zan warned.
“Stop it.” Liz yelled, turning to face Zan feeling Max’s chest and the back of Michael’s hand brush up behind her.
“You stop it.” Zan yelled back. “Stop kiddin’ yourself. You know what I felt.”
“I’m over that now. Max is with me now. But most of all I’m with him Zan. Not you.” Liz said firmly.
“You guys, this is not healthy for the baby.” Maria advised placing her hand on Michael’s shoulder as Max and Zan began screaming at each other.
“Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!” Liz yelled covering her ears, conjuring a green energy force knocking Max, Michael, and Zan away from her, Maria being protected as Liz was by the shielding globe around them individually.
“Maria!” Michael called out frightened.
“I’m fine.” Maria said, still covering her stomach as the shield disappeared. Michael ran to her side and pulled her away to examine her. “I’m alright.” She assured him, but when they looked over at Liz she was still inside her own energy shield and collapsed on the floor.
“Liz!” Max shouted trying to get near her but the shield blazing another bolt against him throwing him further than before.
“Max!” Isabel yelled running to his aid with Kyle, Michael, and Maria following behind.
“No don’t.” Kyle warned when he saw Zan attempt to break through the shield that sent him flying him back onto the entertainment center completely destroying it.
“Zan!” Cassian yelled rushing to help him.
“We got to get her out!” Max yelled.

Chapter 23
Chapter 23
“We got to get her out!” Max yelled.
“No Max. It just throw you harder.” Isabel said holding him back.
“I got to get her out.” Max screamed.
“No, Max. Wait.” Maria warned. “It’s not hurting her, it’s protecting her.” Maria pointed out.
“Protecting her?” Max repeated.
“Yeah, like it did me.” Maria informed.
“She’s right.” Cassian backed up. “It happens to Antarian women who are expecting.”
“Antarian women?” Michael repeated. “That means the babies are…”
“But Liz and Maria are human. Tess had a human baby. Tess’s baby was human!” Max stammered.
“She’s different. You caused that when you healed her. It explains her powers. The change must have gotten stronger when Zan healed her, since his less human than you are.” Cassian speculated.
“But what about Maria? Max never healed her.” Michael said.
“He did once. But I wasn’t dieing or anything like Liz was.” Maria recalled.
“What? When did this happen?” Isabel asked.
“When we were coming back from Enigma. She fell and scrapped her knee. I healed her.” Max remembered.
“That’s still not enough to actually change her.” Cassian stated thinking of other possibilities.
“Liz.” Maria spoke getting everyone’s attention. “She got one of her visions when I was holding on to her.”
“Hmm?” Cassian huffed. “You.” He said pointing to Michael. “Has Max ever healed you?”
“Yeah, a bunch of times. But I’m already part alien. How can he change what I already am?” Michael asked.
“Its genetics, kiddo.” Cassian said with a cocky smile. “He must have changed your human genes and jolted your dormant alien ones. It would make since. He didn’t change you just awakened the real you. Which made your alien genes stronger then your friends causing the baby to be…alien. Not her. The baby is the one with the power.” Cassian assumed. “Oh, you kids have been dabbling with fire and now your getting burned. Antar’s stars. Who knows how their bodies will react?”
“Wait, are you saying something can go wrong?” Maria asked frightened.
“Pray it doesn’t.” Cassian warned.
“Stop it your scaring her.” Kyle warned, Maria turned into Michael’s arms and began to release tears of fear.
“What about Liz?” Max asked.
“Best bet is we wait. Wait til’ her body feels she’s not in danger anymore so the shield can drop.” Cassian recommended.
An hour past and the shield was still up and strong. Max was curled up on the floor as close he could be to the shield without setting it off, waiting for Liz to wake up. Michael and Maria were on the patched up couch, hand-in-hand as she rested her head by his chest with his arm draped around her, while Kyle paced back and forth and Isabel twirled a strand of her hair sitting on the opposite end of the couch Maria and Michael were sitting on. Zan sat on the single chairs they had with Cassian right next to him.
“Ava’s been gone a while.” Zan informed him. “I should go find her.”
“I’ll go with you.” Cassian replied, following him out.
Maria’s face had become ghostly by the minute, she whimpered at the feeling of needing to vomit. “You okay?” Michael asked concerned putting his free hand on her stomach.
“Yeah, apparently morning sickness mean night sickness in Antar terms.” Maria said forcing out a laugh. “Hey, Space boy?” Maria called out.
“Yeah?” Michael replied.
“Thanks for being her with me.” Maria whispered softly, feeling his arm tighten softly around her as his answer.
“Max shouldn’t be on the floor.” Michael whispered to her.
“You really are an ‘Anter’.” Maria laughed lightly.
“A what?” Michael questioned, not knowing if it was a complement or an insult.
“’Anter’. It’s the name of your pendant. It means ‘defending men’.” Maria educated him.
“My pendant? What the hell are you talking about?” Michael asked even more confused.
“It’s from the translation.” Maria said walking over to Liz’s back pack that was on the floor and taking it back to the couch as she pulled out the translation sheets and the purple metal book. She opened the metal book to the section where the symbols were and began explaining what Liz had read to her. “You thought it was just a map but it’s a lot more.” Maria said referring to the sketch Max had before of the cave drawings. “Theirs a story behind each symbol and by the way I was right about the Michael-worshipping hussy. She even made a pass at you then but you rejected her.” She said giving him a sweet kiss. “Good Space boy.” She complimented, getting Isabel and Kyle’s attention causing them to pile up on the couch like it was story time and Maria was the reader.
“Does it say anything about me?” Isabel asked, taking a look over the book.
“Yeah, you were quite the fox back then…” Maria recalled.
“As you still are.” Kyle added making Isabel blush.
“Anyways, yours is this one.” Maria said pointing to the whirlwind symbol.
“That’s why I was drawn to it.” Isabel explained.
“Yeah, it called the ‘Thyth’ I think, and it means ‘gentle strength’.” Maria recalled. “It’s also the symbol for your planet, because according to this you guys planet was suppose to be the peaceful one. If it were me, I’d send the Antarian author a memo to check its resources again.” Maria retold everything that Liz had read to her but in the Maria cliff-notes version. Max remained on the floor talking quietly to Liz, barely paying attention to Maria’s summary. When Maria got up to get a drink of water she collapsed on the floor and her shield activated. “Michael.” She called out.
“Maria!” He called out getting as close as he thought was safe. “What’s happening?” Michael yelled.
“I don’t know.” Maria yelled back worried.
“Liz!” Max yelled sitting up when he saw her eyes open.
“Max?” Liz called out in a weak and shaky voice still lying on the floor.
“I’m right here Liz.” Max assured her lying back down to regain eye contact. “You’re safe Liz. It’s okay.” He promised her so she can lower her shield.
“No. It’s not.” Liz whimpered. Max watched as her tears trailed down her face and on to the pavement.
“Liz, tell me what’s happening so I can help you.” Max said releasing tears of his own. “Please, Liz. I can’t lose you.”
“Max.” Liz called out again. “The baby.” She added with trembling lips.
“Liz. Is the baby okay?” Max asked letting out a yelp.
“Something’s wrong.” Liz said. That statement alone had Max on a roller coaster back to when he first heard it. But this was Liz. His Liz. Not some phony mind warp created by Tess.
The atmosphere was really poisoning the baby and their son would die if they stayed there.
“Max!” Michael called out. Max sat up and saw Maria moping in pain as well. “Maxwell, please do something.” Michael said crying for the first time in front of all of them.
“Max what are we going to do?” Isabel panicked in Kyle’s arms.
“The only thing we can do.” Max said. “We have to go home.”

Erase and Rewind- The Cardigans
Hey..
What did you hear me say?
You know the difference it makes
What did you hear me say?
“Go?” Kyle anxiously repeated.
“Back to Antar.” Max stated.
“Evans you were the one who kept saying your place is here on Earth.” Kyle reminded.
“It’s different now.” Max said looking towards Liz and Maria.
Yes,I said it's fine before
But I don't think so no more
I said it's fine before
“Wow, Evans. I’m all up for the road trip, but leaving the planet is something completely different.” Kyle says nervously.
“I don’t care.” Max said firmly. “The babies will die if they stay here. You can stay but I’m going.” Max told Kyle and then looked over to Michael for his verdict.

It's not that I don’t know
I just don't want it to grow
It's not that I don’t know
“It’s Maria. You know my answer.” Michael said giving Max a look of assurance. Max then looked at Isabel for her vote.

“Kyle, you can take all the money we have and go back to Roswell. To your dad and a chance of a normal life.” Max suggested. Kyle took in Max’s offer and explored all the options mentally, looking back up at Max to let him know he completed his decision.

“Not getting rid of me that quick Evans. If I go back to Roswell, I’ll start changing putting my father in jeopardy and I’ll die before I let anything happen to him. So tell E.T. to move over and make room for one more in his bicycle basket cause I’m going along for the ride.” Kyle joked trying to lighten the mood but only getting a smile from Isabel.
I've changed my mind…
“So what do we do?” Michael asked.
“We have to find the crystal.” Max said.
“What crystal?” Kyle asked.
“The crystal that activates this granilith.” Cassian said pointing to the pod chambers.
“What’s going on?” Zan asked seeing Liz still in her shield and now Maria in hers, looking from the group to Cassian for an answer.
“Seems that the Royal Three are going on a little trip.” Cassain said in an unsafe voice. Michael joined Max, Isabel and Kyle keeping his hand loose in case he needed too use his powers.
“Liz and Maria are sick. They need to go back to Antar before the babies die.” Max informed him of their sudden situation. Zan looked worried looking straight to Liz’s shield when Max announced her illness.
“See the Granilith can only hold so much and I’m afraid that that ship is reserved for the three of us.” Cassian informed them stepping to the side of Ava and Zan. Zan quickly grabbed Ava’s hand and pulled her behind him sensing the stirring of a showdown. “You see, ‘Max’. I have been waiting 53 long excruciating years to get out of the God forsaken rock of a planet and return to Antar. Here I have been mugged 13 times and shot twice for useless trinkets. In Antar, I had respect. Recognition of my title to my race as did your Nasedo. We were called ‘The Ethel Didymos’. ‘The Noble Twins’.” He announced getting a wide-eyed look of shock from all of them. “We weren’t brothers by blood. But rather brothers of the same war and when we found out that we were elected to protect your pods, we knew that we would be fighting this war alone.”
“Your job is to insure the safety of the Royal Four.” Max reminded hear the raging murderous tone Cassian was speaking in.
“But the Royal Four are no more.” Cassian laughed mischievously. “There are but three of you left in your set and two in this one. I doubt Antar would accept a mix and match. You’re no picking grapes from the vines now, Mr. Evans.”
“Max, he has no real power.” Max heard Ava say suddenly standing beside by Michael and Max side. “He has to be near enough to touch you in order to kill you.” She informed.
“Maxwell.” Michael whispered. He noticing Ava was still by Zan, realizing she had mind warped the two in order to help them.
“No. He knows where the crystal is.” Isabel spoke softly in warning.
“Do something, Iz.” Michael murmured. Isabel closed her eyes and focused on Cassian, probing his mind for the location of the Granilith’s crystal. The deeper Isabel got the more dark and evil his visions got until finally, in the deepest corner of his mind, Isabel set eyes on the crystal.
“Go it.” Isabel said firmly. The words almost as a starters pistol for Max who cast his green marine shield for cover as Michael hurled a pool of his energy towards Cassian, hitting him with the same strength he did with Agent Pierce, enough to cause an serious damage but not strong enough for it to be fatal for and alien.
“Max!” Zan called out with his shield stimulated as well, when he detected Cassian getting back up, he ran to them with Ava hiding behind him.
“We have to do it together.” Max ordered. The all stood in a row with the exception of Kyle who ran back for cover behind Liz’s shield, seeing her passed out again. Michael started the line, then Max, Isabel, Zan and Ava, holding their ground with the two water-like shields, raising their hands and utilizing their powers all together.
“Zan!” Was all the bellowed from Cassian before his lifeless body collapsed before them. Ava began to cry at the sight, Zan lowered his shield and pulled her in a hug to comfort her.
“Is he?” Michael asked.
“I’m not sure. I’ll go find out.” Max said keeping his shield up as he approached Cassian’s body, as soon as they got close enough his body starts to disintegrate into dust. “He’s gone.” Max announces ceasing his shield.
“What do we do now?” Ava asks gripping tight to Zan’s arm.
“We get the stone and get to Antar before it’s to late.” Max commands.
“Right. I saw him hiding it behind the mirror above the sink.” Isabel said walking over to it with Max. Max waved his hand an a silver hand appeared as before, he slid his hand in and pulled out a purple crystal making the silver hand disappear. Max walked quickly to one of the tables with computer equipment and flipped it over, watching everything fall to the ground. Michael walked over to help him drag the table over to the pods and the destroyed entertainment center. Kyle and Michael hopped up on the table and then Max, then the two of them boosted Max up enough so he could climb into one of the pods to enter the second granilith. He inserted the crystal in the necessary location, waiting to hear the activating granilith before climbing back down.
“We have 24 hours.” Max declared.
“You can’t just leave us here.” Ava cried. “Besides Cassian, you’re the only ones we know...and trust.”
“You can come with us under one condition...you have 24 hours to teach us everything Cassian has ever taught you about your powers and about who we are.” Max stated. “Do we have a deal?”
“Cool.” Zan said shaking his hand.
“Alright, this is what we’re going to do. Kyle I’m gonna need you to take down a list of everything we come up with that we will need when we get there and go get them.” Max ordered to Kyle who gave he a stern salute before rummaging through the junk on the floor for a pen and paper. “Isabel I need for you to gather everything we have from Antar and put it inside Liz’s book bag. Go ahead and tell Kyle what you need, so he can write it down.” Isabel nodded and headed to their bags to get the Antarian objects they had before going to Kyle. “Michael, you’re my second in command, so think of a strategy we can use to protect and defend ourselves when we get there.”
“Right.” Michael said, saluting like Kyle.
“Zan and Ava. I’m not your leader so you can decided what you want to do.” Max said.
“We can help.” Zan replied.
“Okay. You can help Michael, so he can be beside Maria.” Max answered. Ava and Zan nodded heading to Michael to help. By the time Kyle finished accounting for all the required items, he ran off to the store with Ava to get them. Zan demonstrated all his powers to Max. Like him, Zan was able to heal, conjure a shield, shoot energy blasts, and manipulate molecular structures. But he was also able to move objects mentally and physically paralyze someone with enough concentration. That information triggered his memory on how Liz couldn’t move when she was on Zan’s bed and mentally noted to kick his ass later for it. He taught Michael that aside from stronger energy blasts, changing his physical appearance, and manipulate molecular structures, he also possessed a scanning memory and the ability to charge objects with their potential kinetic energy. Ava meanwhile informed Isabel that the other powers she controls besides dream walking, playing CD’s, manipulate molecular structures, and her own energy blast, she had the power of telepathy like she did.
They continued to practice and practice until Zan’s watch beeped to inform them that the only had twenty minutes left. Max walked over to Liz and began speaking to her. “Liz. Wake up.” He asked.
“Max?” Liz said opening her heavy eyelids.
“Liz, I need you to get up.” Max asked.
“I can’t.” Liz whimpered as she struggled to get up, although she wasn’t feeling sick anymore the shield was taking most of her strength, making her weak.
“Yes you can.” Max encouraged. “Get up for the baby Liz. Get up for me.” He pleaded. Liz gathered all her strength and rose to her feet. “Good job.” He encouraged more. “Now I need you to walk over to Maria and help her up. Come on Liz, you can do it.” Liz nodded and waked slowly to Maria.
“15 minutes.” Zan warned.
“You guys go ahead.” Max ordered. Michael and Zan together boosted Isabel, Ava, and Kyle up into the pods handing them the book bags they were taking with them and then backed away when they saw Maria and Liz walking towards them. “Liz, we can’t touch you so you’re going to have to get yourselves up into the pods.” Max said as he handed Michael a plastic crate to help Liz and Maria up since they were shorter than them and might struggle to reach the pods. Five minutes passed by the time Liz completely pulled Maria inside the pod, once the got in the granilith their shields neutralized, happy, they ran to hug Isabel and Kyle, feeling their energy flow through them rapidly. Michael then entered the granitlith, followed by Max and then Zan.
“Five minutes.” Zan announced. Max and Michael saw both Liz and Maria where free and ran to them with relief taking their hands and weaving them with theirs.
By My Side
Where are you going?
Where are you going?
Can you take me with you?
For my hand is cold
And needs warmth
Where are you going?
Far beyond where the horizon lies
Where the horizon lies
And the land sinks into mellow blueness
“Two minutes.” Zan announced.
“Last chance.” Max warned, looking at Kyle, Isabel, Zan and Ava.
“We’re going.” Isabel yelled, standing her ground as they all were, hand-in-hand. Max, Liz, Kyle, Ava, Zan, Maria, Michael, and then Isabel holding Max and Michael’s hand to close the circle around the granilith.
Oh please, take me with you
Let me skip the road with you
I can dare myself
I can dare myself
I'll put a pebble in my shoe
And watch me walk
I can walk
I can walk!
I shall call the pebble Dare
We should talk together
about walking
Dare shall be carried
And when we both have had enough
I will take him from my shoe, singing
"Meet your new road!"
“I love you.” Max pronounced to Liz as Zan counted down the last few seconds left. Liz sweetly mouthed ‘I love you’ before the granilith captured them within the enormous diamond like center, feeling the ground they stood on begin to quake, causing her to grip Max’s hand tighter as he did with hers.
Then I'll take your hand
Finally glad
That you are here
By my side (by my side)
By my side (by my side)
By my side (that your are here)
By my side
And then it happened. The Granilith shot them out faster then a raging bullet of light, through the subway concrete and breaking through the side of the abandoned building and in to the worlds most mysterious place... outer space.

Chapter 25
Starter – The Cardigans
This is a start
that I know I'll believe in
so I'm leavin' everything behind
Keeping the parts
that I know I'll be needing
and I breed to be a better kind
And I'm leavin' everyone behind
This is the age
when my past should be gone
but it's just stronger than the aims I have
Turning the pages
I used to hang on to
I was young and I have changed my mind
And I'm leaving everything behind

The Granilith Ship
The first thirty minutes of the take off were quiet. Everyone just sat Indian style, listened to the clinks and clatters from the outside hull, with a million questions circling their heads.
“We’re in a spaceship.” Kyle said shaky looking around the purple walls as he hugged him self and then looked at Isabel to see her wondering expression. “It makes it more real to say it.”
“How longs it gonna take?” Ava asked cuddled up next to Zan paranoid.
“Don’t know.” Max answered with a shrug, regretting not asking Tess more about the travel there and back. “All Tess told us was that when she got there it was very bright and someone was expecting her already. Someone from the palace.” Max recalled.
“She wasn’t really chatty with everyone wanting Kyle her.” Isabel added in a indifferent tone.
“Boo hoo.” Maria murmured rolling her eyes.
“How would we know if who ever is meeting us is a good alien or a bad alien?” Kyle asked getting back to the subject at hand.
“We don’t know.” Max answered truthfully.
“We’re going in blind, Max.” Isabel said worried.
“Yes, blind. But not dumb.” Max replied. “We know how to defend ourselves. All we have to do is stick together. We’re stronger together.”
“So, Evan’s. I don’t mean to be ‘the guy who’s always asking questions’ but when do you think I’m gonna start getting my powers. I mean I’m going in high and dry.” Kyle said anxious, getting a half smile from Max. “It just sucks being the only one without any juice.”
“Soon, I hope.” Max answered. “If Kivar hates me as much as everyone says he does, we’ll need the extra help.”
“We can look for the Lynx.” Maria suggested.
“What the hell is that?” Michael asked.
“They’re the army of Michael-worshippers that Courtney belonged to.” Maria answered.
“Maybe we should just see what happens.” Liz suggested. “We don’t know who’s who yet and all the people Max or any of us have met have been using other peoples bodies, so we have no idea what they look like.”
“I’m hungry.” Maria blurted out clipping Liz’s last word.
“We got food.” Michael said. “We got this bag full for you and Liz.” Michael said receiving a big slap on his arm. “Ouch! What the hell was that for?”
“Michael Guerin, if you thing for one moment that I’m gonna blow up to be Rosanne’s body double you got another thing coming.” Maria yelled with her arms cross.
“Hey, the only reason I said it was because I read it in that stupid book that was inside Liz’s book bag.” Michael yelled back pointing down as he talked with his finger that had silver ring on it.
“What book?” Maria asked.
“That stupid yellow book.” Michael answered. Maria’s frown and jagged stare turn soft and lovable from one minute to the next.
“Awww. You read my baby book.” Maria asked softly, getting an unsure smile and nod from Michael. Maria wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down so she could smother him in kisses. Little did she know that Michael read the book with his new scanning powers when Zan was teaching him how to use them.
“Must be the mood swings.” Liz whispered in Max’s ear.
“What about you?” Max asked with a worried smirk. “Are you feeling any?”
“No.” Liz answered stealing a kiss from Max. “I think Maria’s just milking the common pregnancy symptoms.” Liz giggled, kissing Max again and then resting her head on his shoulder as Max laced their fingers together using his free hand to brush against the back of her hand with his thumb.
“How are you feeling?” He asked deeply concerned.
“Tired.” Liz said taking Max’s free hand and kissing between the life and love line of his palm. “That energy shield took most of my energy, but when I was walking with Maria…I feel…sort of replenished.”
“Replenished?” Max repeated. Liz turned to face him caressing his cheek.
“Yeah, a word you certainly haven’t experienced because you look exhausted. Have you slept at all?” Liz asked concerned. Max shook his head. “Take a nap.”
“A nap?” Max chuckled at the thought. “I don’t think I could even shut my eyes. Too much is going on for me to go to sleep, Liz.” Max stated.
“Well, I wasn’t asking.” Liz said in a firmly wife tone. “It’s either sleep or never enjoying the touch of my body against yours.” Liz said wickedly in playful tone. Max put on his innocent look that drove Liz crazy and flashed her a sly smile that he was giving in. Liz tucked her knees to her chest to allow Max more room to shift him self in front of her. Liz slid her legs by his sides as Max lowered his head to rest on her chest.
“So when am I allowed to wake up.” Max said with a smile, holding Liz’s right hand with his right hand, while her left brushed through his hair.
“Oh, you’ll know.” Liz flirted. Max cuddled against her and quickly dozed off to sleep.
“God, you two are nauseating.” Isabel commented in sisterly disgust, witnessing her brother acting so mushy with Liz in front of her. She then looked over to Kyle and knocked him on the head.
“Okay. First of all, OW!” He exclaimed rubbing his head. “And second of all, what the hell was that for?”
“You were Liz’s first boyfriend.” Isabel replied in a blaming tone.
“Oh, no way you’re pinning Romeo and Juliet over there, on me!” Kyle exclaimed. “She learned all that stuff from your brother.” Kyle said pointing at Liz who was laughing and Max, who was off in la-la land.
“So do you all know your spots when we get off this ride?” Zan asked quickly trying to change the subject. He had been watching Liz and Max’s displays of affection, but wasn’t sure if Max was doing it to spite him or if that was how they truly acted. “Mikey, why don’t spin the plan once more.”
“Right.” Michael said resting his forearms on his knees with Maria’s arm hooked around his as she rested her head on his arm. “Max and…” Just as Michael was about to start explaining, the ship began to tremble causing Maria and Liz’s shields to re-activate, this time engulfing Michael and Max with them. “Maxwell.” Michael called out baffled over what was happening, or what wasn’t happening was more like it. He feared he was going to be tossed by their energy but instead they were safe inside the shield with them.
“What the?” Max said just as puzzled as Michael was.
“It must be because we’re touching.” Liz said making sure Max stood perfectly still.
“But the last time we were all touching and you blasted us back to Kansas.” Michael said making sure he didn’t touch the shield.
“Maybe it’s because you guys are the babies father’s.” Isabel said holding tight to Kyle who was pressed up by Ava who was crunched up on Zan. All trying not to get near the shields.
“Nah, then it wouldn’t have toss em’ the first time.” Ava said.
“I think it’s because ‘we’re’ touching them.” Liz assumed. “Michael, stick your hand out so I can grab it.” Liz commanded.
“You’re joking right?” Michael said holding on to Maria’s leg.
“Michael, nothing is going to happen to you.” Liz promised. Michael was hesitant so Liz just grabbed his hand without preparation causing her shield to spill over to Maria’s combining them both into one big shield. Once the ship stopped rattling the shields shutdown again.
“Oh, we’re so using that.” Michael chuckled amazed over what happened.
“Like I said…stronger when we’re together.” Max repeated his previous statement.
“No, like I said…nap time.” Liz said pulling him back down to rest on her.
Days had passed and the group was getting anxious. They spent their time telling stories and sometimes just sat in silence, especially at night when it was dark inside the ship. Max and Zan would conjure a palm of light when they needed to, mostly when they were eating but the rest of the night was pitch black.
In this dark night, Liz felt a second of loneliness. Not sure where the awkward feeling came from, she snuggled beside him, legs tangled, connecting her forehead with his, stroking the side of his face gently as she admired his peaceful features. Feeling her love for him multiple by every inch her eyes gazed on him, cupping his cheek so she could feel the sofness of his lips by brushing softly with her thumb.
It’s You – Michelle Branch
If tomorrow never comes
I would want just one thing
I would tell it to the stars and the sun
I would write it for the world to see
And it's you
The light changes when you're in the room
Oh it's you
Oh it's you
If tomorrow never comes
I would want just one wish
To kiss your quiet mouth
And trace the steps with my finger tips
And it's you
The light changes when you're in the room
Oh it's you
Oh it's you
Oh it's you
Oh it's you
Oh it's you
Oh oh it's you
Oh it's you
She continued tracing his lips until she felt him kiss her thumb. “Did I wake you?” Liz whispered giving him a light Eskimo kiss.
“No.” He answered softly giving her a gentle kiss and then kissed the inside of her hand. “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“Couldn’t sleep.” She answered.
"So you were watching me sleep instead?" He asked curiously making sure to whisper, not wanting to wake anyone up.
"You have this calm look, that I really love, when you sleep." She said looking down and then back at him.
"Are you saying you like to watch me better when I'm sleeping than awake?" He asked entertained by this new information.
"I love the way you look all the time. I love the way you looked at me when we make love. It makes me feel so...desirable. Or the flicker lip-chewing look you give when you're really trying to think. Or the way you bite on your pencil at school when you're trying to get organized." She confessed with a blush. "It's just sometimes you look like you've given up. And I can't help but feel helpless. It's like I have to watch you feebly while carry everything on your shoulders again. Carry this guilt like you're accountable for everything we do. You keep feeling responsible for me and our baby’s life. God, you even feel responsible for all of them."
"That's because I am. You and the baby are my responsibility just like everyone else that has to run because of what I started." Max explained.
"Max that's not true. I got Maria, Kyle, and Alex involved. Zan and Ava were already running and Michael and Isabel will be with you no matter what. So you don't have to look guilty every time you would look at Isabel. She chose to be here." Liz reminded. Max couldn't help but feel exactly what Liz was calling him on. He did feel guilty. Isabel had told him on many occasions that it was because of him that they were in jeopardy and once again he had proven her right. He had ruined any chance of her ever having a normal life with her husband, Jesse, and risking having her nearer to Kivar than he would ever want. Liz watched the battle of emotions took place inside Max's eyes, knowing she had to be the one that takes care of him. "You don't have to be alone. You have all of us, but most of all you have me. I know I have you because that's what I see everytime I look at you when you sleep and I can't help but fall in love with you more and more when I see you." She admitted looking down and then back into is thankful eyes.
"Move closer." Both Max and Liz heard Maria ask Michael in a whimper, not being able to hold back their smiles.
“Did you know Michael and Maria came up with a name for the baby, already?” Liz notified him, Max shook his head ‘no’. “They decided on Brady.” She said with an approving smile. “Brady Alexander Guerin...DeLuca. Uh, they haven’t gone over that part with me yet.”
“I’ve hardly spoken to anyone but you.” Max answered. "Everyone else is so...afraid."
“It’s like everyone thinks that once we start acting normal, like nothing’s happening, something will end up happening. Like a jinx.” Liz said quietly.
“Yeah, I’ve been pretty much been trying to stick close to you.” Max said seeing Liz’s eyebrow arch in interest. “You know…in case your shield pops up again.”
“That’s too bad.” Liz taunted lying on her back with her arm still tucked underneath for support. Max propped his head up with his arm and noticed her shirt rising a little, exposing a section of her soft toned tummy. “What about us Max? What are we going to name our baby?” She asked as Max traced circles around her bellybutton.
“How about Benjamin?” Max suggested after deep thought. Liz held her stomach and felt a tingle run through her body, it felt the same way she felt when Max had stopped her outside the Crashdown last year, making all those precious moments they shared appear in a emotional flash.
“I think he likes it.” Liz whispered with a smile before kissing him. The kiss became more intense than Max had intended, feeling her hands roaming his body and tackling the button and zipper to his Cargo pants.
“Liz. I don’t think this is the right place to be, uh…’playing’.” Max whispered worried holding her hands from going any further.
“You weren’t saying that when you were, uh…‘playing’…with me.” Liz replied bemused.
“That’s different.” Max whispered back. “I can cover your…your moaning. I don’t think you can do the same with mine.” Max murmured in a husky voice as he connected his forehead again with hers.
“I can try.” Liz softly said kissing him again but this time savoring the intoxicating taste of the inside of his mouth with her tongue. Just as Max was almost completely underneath Liz’s top, Zan began to cough hysterically, killing Max’s chance to explore his wife by waking everyone up.
“I’m gonna kill him.” Max muttered lying on his back in irritation from Zan’s obvious interruption.
“We can continue this some other time.” Liz promised as she cuddled closer to him. Liz was in too good of a mood to get angry, even though she shared Max’s aggravation towards zan. But how could she be mad when she was in the arms of the man she loves and with their baby growing inside her. Benjamin. Benjamin Alexander Evans.
“We have to be getting’ close by now.” Zan said impatiently. Dreading the sight of Max and Liz being together. Last night, when they thought everyone was sleeping, Max had begun to explore Liz’s body. Zan was about two seconds away from stopping it, if it wasn’t for Ava who was sleeping against him. Just watching them made him feeling helpless. But this time he was able to prevent them from getting closer.
Suddenly, the ship shook harder than it ever did before causing Liz and Maria’s shield to turn on again. Liz and Maria gripped tight to Max and Michael, frightened. Liz turned to look at the others and saw that they too were huddled in fear. Then the sudden sound of pressurization caught their attention to a sliding hatch that was slowly opening.
“We’re here.” Michael said.

Starter – The Cardigans
This is a start
that I know I'll believe in
so I'm leavin' everything behind
Keeping the parts
that I know I'll be needing
and I breed to be a better kind
And I'm leavin' everyone behind
This is the age
when my past should be gone
but it's just stronger than the aims I have
Turning the pages
I used to hang on to
I was young and I have changed my mind
And I'm leaving everything behind
New beginning again
a bit closer
new beginning again
a little bit closer
New beginning again
a bit closer to the end
This is the time
it's a delicate line

Chapter 26
Chapter 26
“Max what do we do?” Isabel asked frightened as she clasped on to Kyle’s arm.
“Maria and Liz can’t hold all of us.” Michael added.
“It’ll just be me and Zan up front. Liz, take Isabel and Kyle. Maria, take Michael and Ava.” Max commanded. “Stay with them and you’ll be safe.”
“Wait. Maxwell. I’m your second-in-command. I should be the one going with you.” Michael complained not fully accepting the plan.
“Michael, no.” Max yelled firmly. “Zan and I are the only one’s that have individual shields. I need you to watch Liz, and the others. Please. I’m counting on you.” Max pleaded.
“Be careful.” Michael said, as he and Maria went by Ava so Maria could take her hand to include her in her shield.
“How are you going to get out of there, Max?” Isabel asked, knowing if Liz released her brother’s hand, he would be blasted away by Liz’s shield. Max worked a plan out quickly in his head and then turned to look at Liz.
“Liz, understand that when I’m with you, you’re safe. Do you trust me?” Max asked pleading.
“I trust you, Max.” Liz answered. Max stepped closer and gave Liz a soft long kiss, making her feel as safe as she ever could be, causing Liz’s shield shut down. “Come back to me.” She demanded with watery eyes as he pulled away from her.
“I promise.” Max said walking towards Zan. Liz took Kyle and Isabel’s hand and closed her eyes, trying to picture Max, the baby, and herself in danger, which triggered the shield to re-activate.
“You ready?” Max asked Zan.
“Let’s do this.” Zan answered with a smirk. Max and Zan both faced the opened hatch and stuck their hands out in front of them, conjuring both their shields and then stepped out of the ship with the others following behind them in pairs of three, hand-in-hand.
Outside the Granilith Ship
“Welcome back, your highness.” A man announced at the foot of the flooded hatch. “We’ve been awaiting your return for some time now. Come.” He said turning away from them and heading to the longest boat either of them had seen. There were two men already on board, standing at attention with their oars at hand. The boat was decorated with shiny, metallic banner, with the Saturn symbol on it, floating with the cool breeze. The man turned to escort them on but saw them still hesitant by the ship. “I assure you you’re quite safe.”
“Where are we? Who are you?” Max spoke finally.
“My name is Antel. I was the Emissary from the Summit and were near the Dimaras rock.” He informed him. ‘Dimaras Rock’. Max pondered. That’s where Brody had said he met Tess. “Your highness?” Antel called out seeing Max was no long paying attention. Max took the first step that led everyone on board the boat. “I see the Princess and Queen are expecting. The counselors would be pleased to hear this.” Antel commented as they started their way to the palace.
“Hate to burst your bubble. But they’re not.” Michael corrected.
“But…” Antel question at first, but then just observed Maria and Liz.
“That’s enough staring, don’t ya think?” Zan snapped, when he noticed the stares he was giving the girls.
“I’m sorry.” Antel said lowering his head in shame. “It’s just that the counselors feared this would happen.” Antel mumbled.
“That what would happen?” Max asked.
“That being on Earth would stray you from your destiny.” Antel answered.
“They are our destiny.” Michael answered firmly, shocking Maria.
“Where are we going?” Max asked thinking they where in a lake or sea for how much water surrounded them.
“To the Stone Mausoleum.” Antel answered. “Your parents where placed there at their request, I was to take you there first before I take you to the palace. There will be aids awaiting to assist you with your robes when we reach the palace.”
“Or robes?” Zan repeated. “What’s wrong with our gear?”
Everyone smiled little including Antel. When they reached the mausoleum, Antel requested that Liz, Maria, and Kyle stay behind because what they were about to find out was for their ears only. Max denied it at first but it was Liz who agreed with the emissary. “Liz, we promised to stick together.” Max reminded. Liz focused on the memory of her making love to Max in order to release her shield, when she did she gave him soft kiss.
“Max I don’t think I’ll be able to handle another Destiny speech, to be honest. And besides, this is something you should be sharing with Isabel and Michael. Not us.” Liz confessed. “We’ll just wait outside.”
“No way.” Michael commanded softly.
“My Lord?” Antel called out. Max and Michael turned to see what he wanted. “The lady can go to the palace for now. I will escort them myself.” Antel proposed. Max looked back at Liz and then saw he really had no choice.
“You guard them with your life.” Max ordered Antel. “She’s my wife and I hold you responsible.” He warned getting an understanding nod from Antel before he headed back out to the boat.
“We’ll be okay.” Liz promised.
“Stay together.” Max advised.
“We will.” Liz promised giving him another kiss before leaving.
“See you later Space boy.” Maria said giving him a kiss and following Liz and Kyle back towards the boat. When they reached the palace, the three of them where at ‘aw’. The palace was enormous and completely surrounded by water, which clearly redefined the word moat. The sky was getting darker and a faint hint of what seemed to be three moons appeared in the honey sky. The emissary took them inside and up to a bedchamber that lied inside the heavy oak doors that had the Saturn symbol carved in front of it.
“This must be Max’s room.” Liz whispered to Maria as she held on to her hand and Kyle for safety. When they entered the room, their eyes widened and their jaws dropped. The fuchsia and royal purple room had been completely decorated with the Saturn symbols and instead of lights, the Venus stars are what lit up the room. There was a huge round balcony that had the most amazing view of the night’s sky. There was a 20-foot, four poster bed with drapes of curtains strapped to each post. The sheets where silky and the bed was made from the same heavy oak from the door.
“We tried to make it as human as possible when we heard they were coming back.” Antel informed them, pleased to see how satisfied they were with it.
“How did they know?” Liz asked concerned.
“Oh, I’ll go bring the aids to dress you for tonight.” Antel quickly said avoiding the question.
“What’s tonight?” Kyle asked interested.
“The celebration of our Kings’ return, of course.” Antel said with a smile and closed the oak doors behind him.
“Oh, someone’s going to have fun tonight.” Maria poked teasingly at Liz.
“Shut up.” Liz said with a smile.
“Yes, please.” Kyle begged. “I don’t need to her about my ex getting it on with Max Evans.”
“I wonder what Michael’s room looks like?” Maria asked with a mischievous arched eyebrow
I thought it'd be cool if I showed you what I was seeing. It took a while because I won't get my PSP8 until after my birthday, August 28th. So I had to do it with basic Paint program, which doesn't meet my expectations but at least you guys have an idea what I was imagining.
Here's Max's room:

Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Stone Mausoleum
“What are we waiting for?” Isabel whispered in Michael’s ear.
“I don’t know.” Michael said shaking his head. “Maxwell, what’s going on?” Max’s was reading the clipped translation book that they had from their Destiny book and it had a section about the mausoleum. ‘Wait until nightfall and your eyes shall fall on the truth’, was what the translation said it said. Suddenly, five v-formation lights started to shine from the mausoleum wall. It lighted up a huge carving of images they had seen before. It was Max and Tess and then Isabel and Michael, as the were carved in there book. In between them there was the imprint of a hand. Max stood in front of it and waved his hand over it, making it glow with silver. He then stuck his hand inside the imprint and pulled out a thick binded book with the whirlwind symbol on it. “What is it, Maxwell?” Michael asked trying to look over his shoulder.
“A book.” Max answered as he opened the dusty, delicate book. “It looks like a journal.”
“Journal?” Isabel repeated looking at the book with him. “You think it’s from our parents?”
“I don’t know. It could be.” Max answered flipping softly through the yellow scroll like pages with alien writing throughout them.
“What are those?” Ava asks pointing to the two orbs that were visible in the open book bag Max had at his feet.
“Uh, orbs.” Max answered, watching Ava pick them up. Max shot a paranoid look towards Isabel and Michael who were looking fearful themselves.
“What are the for?” Zan asked.
“It’s a message.” Michael answers.
“From who?” Ava asked standing beside Zan.
“They last one we had came from our mother.” Isabel answered.
“Our mother?” Zan asked. Hearing Zan say that made them realize that in a way, Zan was Isabel and Max’s brother. “So is this from our pops or somethin’?”
“At least that what Maria says.” Michael answered.
“So fire em’ up.” Zan suggested.
“We don’t know if…the last time we used them we had…well, we had Tess.” Max said stumbling with his words.
“Ava’s here.” Zan pointed out. “Won’t kill ya to try.”
“I guess not.” Max said handing one of the orbs to Michael so he could hold it with Isabel, while he held his with Ava. “You have to concentrate.” Max instructed. Ava nodded her head bashfully, cupping the orbs with Max’s hand. The all shut their eyes and began to focus their thoughts on the orbs. The orbs suddenly shot up a blue light, and a beeping sound, like a beacon, Max once heard with Liz when they found one of the orbs. Another blue light floats into their sights, and transforms a holographic image of two men.
‘My son. My daughter. I have missed you so. I know that if you are watching this instead of us being face to face, I have fallen. I trust your mother has gone over the basics with you and your purpose, sadly I can not cover up this new world I have gone to fear with fables. I must speak to you as a man and as Antar’s leader. I stand here with my trusted counselor and dear friend, who is father to your second-in-command. He shall discuss what is necessary for your survival.’
“Oh, my God. Michael.” Isabel called out in amazement.
“It’s my father.” Michael said with a peaceful expression.
‘Your Highness, Princess, Queen, and my dear son. The world we know of is no more. Kivar has taken over the throne in quest to find the granilith. You must never allow him to obtain it. With it he can achieve terrible things as any one of our enemies. From the other four worlds, we have been working side-by-side with Corvus. Larek in deed has shown his alliance. Beware of Nicolas, for he will do anything in his power to please Kivar. He has betrayed us since Zan chose Rath, a friend, as his second instead of him, a decorated soldier. My son. You carry the task of insuring the Royals live and regain the throne. Once the counsels see that the Royals have returned they would have nothing to fear. The war will stop and Kivar will be removed. Take care my son and know that I have always been proud to be your father.’
Michael's eyes began to spill tears of pain and happiness over the words of his father.
‘We do not have much time. Take care of your sister and your bride. I know that you are well protected under Rath, so for that I do not worry. We stored detail accounts of what Antar has been like while you were gone. It will guide you to overcome Kivar and his army. Good luck.'
By the time the glowing light had disappeared, both Michael and Isabel had tears in their eyes. “Max, that was our father.” Isabel said with a joyful smile.
“I can’t believe it. My father.” Michael muttered in shock. All his life he awaited a moment like this, no matter how small, but just a moment and now he finally has one. The moment was overwhelming, so overwhelming that Michael felt light headed losing his balance a little so he held himself up by placing his hand on the wall. What he didn’t realize is that he laid his hand right on top of the hand imprint. A bright light flashed and a force tossed him to the opposite side of the room.
“Oh, my God, Michael!” Isabel screamed, running to help him.
“Michael, are you okay?” Max said searching him to make sure he wasn’t hurt.
“Maxwell.” Michael called out. “I remember.”
“What do you mean you remember?” Max asked.
“I mean I remember who I was.”

Chapter 28
Chapter 28
The Antarean Palace
When Max, Michael, Isabel, Zan and Ava reached the palace, the three moons that highlighted the sky as long as the glittering stars shined brighter than they had ever before. “Your Highness.” Antel called out.
“Where’s Liz?” Max asked.
“Your lady is preparing for tonights event as you must do. Come quickly.” Antel instructed as an aid came and escorted Isabel in the opposite direction. “You will see them in the hall. Right now you must prepare.” He led them into a room where they found Kyle in what appeared to be a mixture of a sultan’s outfit mixed with a tuxedo.
“Prepare for what?” Max asked as someone helped him remove his jacket.
“Tonight you speak with the counsels.” Antel announced before leaving.
“Guys!” Kyle called out happy to see them. “Check it out.” He said turning in a complete circle so they could see his clothes.
Not bad.” Michael commented. “Alright where’s mine?”
The Hall
When Max, Michael, Kyle and Zan were done dressing they were taken to the hall to wait for the girls entrances. “This is like an upgrade to like British traditions.” Kyle said with a smirk.
“I feel ridiculous.” Michael mutters to Max.
“We look it.” Max said regarding their almost military like uniform that he, Zan, and Michael had to wear.
“I’m the one that should be complaining. They totally screwed up my hair.” Zan complained with his loose hair and piercing–free face.
“The ladies are coming know.” Antel announced pointing up to the staircase.
“What the hell? Tell em’ to come down already.” Michael ordered.
“Are you kidding?” Kyle asked shocked on how ignorate Michael was when it came to women. “This is like the number two thing on a girls top five list. Having a grand entrance is like chic-flick heaven for them. Number one being their wedding. So best thing for you to do is wait and watch and throw in a couple of “oo’s” and “ah’s” for extra brownie points.” Kyle advised. The first one to come down was Isabel, who was dressed in a scarlet, strapless bell shaped dress. At the sight Kyle started clapping and then met her at the foot of the stairs. “You look amazing.” He complemented, Isabel just smiled as she hooked her arm around his and followed him into the main hall towards the ballroom.
Maria was the next one to come out in a light pink spaghetti strapped dress. Michael was so dazed as he approached the foot of the stairs that a glob of saliva dribbled out his mouth but he sucked in it before if fell anywhere. “Drool. That’s always a good sign.” Maria said with a smile.
“You look nice.” Michael stuttered.
“So do you.” Maria said looking up and down at him.
“I look like an idiot in this uniform.” Michael stated.
“No you don’t. You look cute and didn’t Kyle tell you. Human chicks dig uniforms and I’m definitely…definitely digging yours.” Maria said giving him a quick kiss. ”Let’s party Space boy.”
“Yes Ma’am.” Michael said taking her to the main hall.
Zan and Max were last. Max totally hated it. He knew deep down inside while Zan pretended to wait for Ava he was really waiting for Liz. Max turned as pale as snow when he noticed Ava walking down the stairs. She didn’t look like punk, pierced Ava anymore she looked more like…Tess. Alien powers were definitely a part of this make over. She didn’t have her punk rocker multi-colored hair anymore. She had Tess’s medium long blonde hair. If it wasn’t for the four-squared tattoo she had on her arm he could have sworn Tess Harding had raised from the grave. “You look good Ava.” Zan complemented, stunned on how different she looked, when he met her at the foot of the stairs. But his attention was then drawn to Liz who was coming down the stairs as well and Zan felt as if his heart had stopped beating.
“Wow.” Max said standing by Zan waiting for Liz to come down the last few steps.
“You look nice.” Zan whispered to Liz before leading Ava to the main hall.
“You look amazing.” Max commented, breath taken by the pearl dress Liz was wearing. The front drooped flashing a little cleavage and hugged her waist and body just right. “Wow, is that suppose to droop that low?” Max asked concerned.
“I think so. Isabel picked it out.” Liz said with a smile. “So do you want to see the rest of the dress, because it’s just gorgeous?”
“The rest?” Max asked. He watched as she pointed out the dresses slit that flashed her smooth leg when she would move. “Isabel picked this out?” Max questioned knowing that Isabel was always conservative. Even though the thought was retracted by the fact that she had just left with Kyle in a scarlet corset dress.
“Oh, I save the best part for last. This is so cool.” Liz said with a smile. When she turned around, there was a V-shape cut out that exposed her entire back. She turned back to face him but she saw Max was heading back up the stairs. “Max! Where are you going?”
“To find the rest of your dress.” Max answered.
“Max, come on.” Liz giggled pulling Max al the way back into the main hall. Unable to resist the touch, Max guides her in the room with his hand on her bare back.
Main Hall Ballroom
“You know you owe me for wearing that dress, don’t you?” Max informed her with a flirty smile.
“Really?” Liz asked interested with an arched eyebrow. “Well, I have news for you. I’ve seen you room and let’s just say…you were getting payment no matter what.” Liz flirts back before kissing Max as exotically as she could.
“Whoa, there.” Maria warned seeing Liz practically devouring Max’s now flushed lips. “Head start for kid number two?” Maria asked making Liz blush as she stood by Michael who had one hand on the small of her back and the other on her tummy.
“Sorry.” Liz apologized.
“Maxwell, I’m killing your sister.” Michael said aggravated.
“Why? What’s wrong?” Max asked wrapping his arms around Liz as she held on to his elbows.
“What’s wrong? Take a look at this dress.” Michael said turning Maria around, showing a similar back style as Liz’s dress, and then turned her back into her original position. “Like I didn’t have to worry about human ex’s and strangers grabbing her ass, now I got to worry about alien guys wanting to get their tentacles on her. Already I saw two guys eyeing her. When I see Isabel, I’m gonna kill her.” Maria and Liz started to give each other that ‘blah, blah, blah’ look until Max started to mention Liz’s dress.
“Take a number because I’m killing her first. I mean look at this, where’s the rest of the dress?” He said twirling Liz around before hugging her again. “And I’m like this close of losing my patience with Zan.”
“What, he’s still throwing goo-goo eyes at Liz?” Michael asked getting a nod from Max.
“Max, the dresses are not that bad and why are you guys acting like mafia men?” Liz tried to explain.
“I know. I feel as if I should get a perm, buy hoop earrings and paint my nails hot pink.” Maria snorted crossing her arms.
“You know you guys acting all over protective is a very ‘human’ characteristic.” Liz said in a mischievous tone looking up to give Max her flirty look.
“I know. It’s like a huge turn on.” Maria added in the same tone making Michael blush in embarassment.
“Uh, Maxwell. I need to talk to you about what we we’re talking about before.” Michael coughed out hinting towards the door. “You know about aliens.”
“Right. Aliens.” Max said letting go of Liz. “We’ll be right back.” He said before he kissed her good-bye.
“Man, they are so obvious.” Maria said with a chuckle as she went to hold Liz’s hand.
“Wonder what they’re really going to talk about?” Liz asked.

Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“I really don’t see the point of the dress up dance.” Michael comments as the head further away from Liz and Maria. “There are like two people in there besides us.”
“Is that what you wanted to talk about?” Max asked confused.
“No.” Michael answered biting the nail of his thumb.
“What is it?” Max asked seeing Michael pacing back and forth.
“Seeing that message from my father has me thinking.” Michael answers.
“About aliens?” Max asked.
“What? No. About Maria.” Michael corrected. “When I touched the handprint, all these memories like jolted back inside my brain…you know about me and Isabel.” Michael confessed.
“Oh, are you feeling different?” Max asked.
“No, Maxwell, see that’s it. The only person I could imagine spending my life with is back inside that room half naked with your half naked wife.” Michael said pointing towards the main hall ballroom. Max chuckled a little.
“It just sounds weird hearing that. ‘Your wife’.” Max explained still not use to the feeling that aside from the ‘King’ and ‘Father’ title he was also a ‘Husband’.
“See, that’s my point exactly.” Michael said but noticed Max’s puzzled expression. “If our dads’ would have still been alive, you would have introduced Liz as your wife and I would introduce Maria, as what? My pregnant girlfriend?” Michael questioned with frustration. “Maria deserves more than that.”
“Michael, are you telling me your going to ask Maria to marry you?” Max asked with a huge smile on his face.
“Don’t get all mushy on me, Maxwell.” Michael warned. “I know I want that moment to be special for Maria. I just need you to help me plan it. You know with all the romantic stuff you do?”
“Michael, you can plan FBI prison breaks but you can plan your own proposal?” Max said with a small chuckle.
“Forget it.” Michael said annoyed as he began to walk away.
“No, Michael wait. I’m sorry.” Max apologized stopping Michael from going further. “I’d be happy to help.” Max said with a smile getting one of relief and gratitude from Michael.
“You can’t tell Liz or Isabel.” Michael warned.
“I can guarantee it won’t come out of my mouth, but I can’t guarantee that Isabel won’t dream walk me or you for that matter and that Liz won’t see it in a flash when we’re kissing and stuff.” Max warned. “Liz could get a premonition from touching you or Maria. Face it Michael. Our secret keeping years are over.” Max said patting on his back as they headed back in the ballroom.
Main Hall Ballroom
“Welcome back.” Maria greets as she sees them coming back.
“We gotta talk later, okay?” Michael said getting a nod from Maria.
“Your Highness, it’s starting.” The Emissary said leading them inside the ballroom.
Ballroom
When they stepped in the room, whispers could be heard of surprise from the dozen or so people that attended. “Who are these people?” Max asks Antel.
“They are the same you spoke with at the summit, just in their natural form.” Antel answered.
“I was expecting at least one freak.” Kyle whispered disappointed to Isabel, wanting to see that at least one alien movie he’d seen was accurate.
“This has been a long over due moment.” A tall lean woman said walking over and bowing before Max and Isabel. “I am Kathana, counsel to Equilius. Do you remember me from the summit?” She asked Max just gave a nod. Then he watched how Kathana’s eyes looked curiously at Liz.
“This is Liz, my wife.” Max introduced. Kathana bowed her head when he introduced Liz but they all felt it was without wanting. “That’s Maria.” Max said pointing to Maria who just waved.
“She’s with me.” Michael announced wrapping his arm around her tiny waist.
“Kyle.” Max said pointing to Kyle who was scratching his eyebrow and waved like he was throwing an imaginary curve ball. “They are with us. So if anyone has a problem with them being here you’ll have to deal with me first.” Max declared firmly wrapping his arm around Liz’s waist.
“Of course.” Kathana said bowing her head again for obedience. “This is Sero, counsel to Lacerta.” Kathana introduced a well-built man who was dressed in a similar uniform as Michael.
“It’s truly an honor.” Sero said bowing in front of the Royal men and then kissing Isabel’s, Ava’s, Maria’s and Liz’s hand.
“Hanar, counsel of Octan.” Kathan continued with the introductions. Hanar bowed and followed Sero’s order of hand kissing.
“And Larek…” Kathana was about to introduce him when Larek cut her off.
“Maxwell Evans.” Larek said with a coy smile and then looked at Maria. “Maria DeLuca. Well, well, well. If my vessel could see you now.”
“Vessel?” Maria asked.
“Yes, I believe you called him Brody.” Larek recalled and then his attention was drawn to Ava. “Tess, it is nice to see you again. I must say you’re rather brave returning when you know Kivar has it in for you. Where’s the baby?”
“I’m not Tess.” Ava corrected. “My name is Ava.”
“Well, at least someone is sticking by their name.” Larek said walking away and looking at Zan. “Nice to see you lived. There isn’t a work shift for the throne I hope you know. There can only be on King of Antar.”
“Do you see me volunteering?” Zan asked angry, every time he looked at Max he knew he would always be number two.
“So what are we here for?” Max asked referring to all the commotion and dress up.
“This my friend, is a ‘proof of life’ party. Now that they have proven that you have all returned, and then some, they will start discussing over how to go about overthrowing Kivar.”
“Can’t you just kick him out?” Kyle asked. Larek just looked at him and then back at Max.
“Cute kid. Put a muzzle on him.” Larek said sternly.
“Bite me, E.T.” Kyle retaliated as he gave the Italian version of the chin flick-off.
“Where’s Kivar?” Max asks.
“I’m right here.” Kivar says with a sarcastic smile.

Chapter 30
Chapter 30
At the sight of Kivar, Zan and Max quickly stepped up and brought up their shields as Maria and Liz stepped back and grabbed their assigned shield-less friends conjuring their own shields to protect them. “Oh, that’s a neat trick.” Kivar said with and impressed laugh. “Vilandra, looking good. Looking very good.” He said vilely as he eyed her up and down then moving his sights to look at Liz. “Oh and you must be the famous Liz.”
“Hey, you talk to me not her.” Max ordered as he lowered his shield.
“Oh, I see the Royal Four have grown a pair.” Kivar said amused. “I would have loved to see the look on Tess’s face when she found out that it took a human to get an Antarian baby out of Zan.”
“Max.” Max corrected.
“Yeah, Whatever.” Kivar said with his cocky smile. “So what is this a school field trip or something?”
“No.” Max answered tightly. “We’re here to take the throne back.” Max stated causing Kivar to break out into a hard laugh.
“You can’t be serious?” He asked wiping the tears of laughter from his eyes.
“Oh, I’m very serious.” Max said stepping up to Kivar.
“I’m right here, Maxwell.” Michael announced as he stepped up with a chain of Maria and Isabel, getting ready to back up Max if he needed to.
“Please. Why don’t you go back to your beloved planet, that you fought so hard to stay on, and go play daddy.” Kivar said look back at Liz but Max moved in his line of sight, making sure that Kivar would stop looking at Liz. “From the looks of it I can see you’ve been very busy populating planet Earth.”
“I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you.” Michael threatened.
“Michael, is it? Why don’t you do your friend here a favor and take him back to Earth with your little fan squad too.” Kivar advised. “Leave the ‘King’ position for those who know how to handle it.” Kivar said looking at Max.
“’Handle it’?” Max laughed. “If you were ‘handling it’ I would have gotten so many extraterrestrial visits begging me to come back and throw you off the thrown.” Max said with a smirk, seeing Kivar whincing, knowing he had struck a nerve with his comment.
“Foolish boy. The throne is mine.” Kivar muttered with clenched teeth as he raised his hand but flew across the room. When he rose to his feet he saw with shocked and confused eyes, Liz holding her hand up with green electric energy sparking. Max, Michael and Zan all looked at Liz, amazed that she was quicker at the draw then they were. The counsels were just as surprised as they stared at Liz. “You just made the biggest mistake of your life.” Kivar threatened as he adjusted himself.
“No. You did.” Liz threatened right back. “Just leave.”
“Zan, put a leash on your cat…before she gets hurt.” Kivar warned to Max.
“My name is Max.” Max corrected. “And you heard her. Leave. You are no long King.”
“The war might end for the other worlds…but for you…it’s just beginning.” Kivar threatened before he stormed off. Maria dropped her shield as did Max and Zan. Michael bolted to Maria and Max walked quickly to Liz and made sure she was not hurt.
“I’m okay.” Liz assures him, holding his hands.
“But I’m not. You stood up to Kivar and put your life in danger. Ben’s life.” Max said with an uneased tone.
“He was going to hurt you.” Liz explained. “You can not ask me to just stand there and watch, because I can’t do it. I won’t do it.”
“Relax, Maximus. She saved you.” Zan commented. Max turned to answer but Liz stopped him by pulling him into a kiss.
“I love you.” Liz said with a “forgive me” pout.
“That’s not working.” Max threatened playfully trying to avoid the wide-eyed pouting look she would give him in order to change his mind. Liz kissed him again. “I need more convincing.” Liz smiled loving when he would pull stunts like this. “I almost believed it.” Liz started kissing his ear before she whispered something that sent shivers down his spine.
“You said I owed you one and I just thought that the way I could repay you is by letting you help me get out of this dress.” Liz whispered before giving him his ‘I’m so innocent’ look.
“Your Highness.” A familiar voice called out. Max turned around and saw someone he never imagined seeing again.
“Langley?”
