Who are todays best vampire authors?
Out of all the vampire writers that I have read so far, I would have to say Laurell K. Hamilton and Mary Janice Davidson are the best.

I don’t know if this is qualified to be here but I think it might work.
A while ago I read an Underworld fanfic and as it contains vampires I thought it would be ok to post a recommendation here to everyone who liked the movie.

Laurell K. Hamilton is definitely the best to me. In fact, I love her books so much I've got somewhat of a crossover RP plus some fanfics in the works.
A List of All My Fics
My Avatar is an amazing Thai actor named Earth, he also goes by Cooheart and the BL's he acts in inspire writing.

True
Mel is right. If you check on Laurell K. Hamilton's website she states that she doesn't want her stuff being copied in a fan fic and such.
Hey has anyone read Susan Sizemore's I Thirst For You? I just did and I thought it was pretty good. Kinda hokey in some parts but a good read none the less.
Another good vamp author is Christopher Pike. He did a series called: The Last Vampire. It is really for young adults, but you can't keep me away from those books lol

LKH hates Fanfiction ? That's a little stupid
But then again I don't even know what her books are about, I picked up a few but they never grabbed my interest. Plus I love reading paperback books.
yep me too candy I like (in this order)
Sherri Kenyon
Christine Feehan
Emma Holly
Lynsay Sands
Susan Sizemore,

I bought the out of this world anthology because I wanted the conclusion to maggie Shayne's immortal high witch series, anyway, in the book there's a preview of LKH's narcissus in chains (though it was named a different title) I've heard about her books and most poeple said its really good. Now was my chance to find out. I must say, I really couldn't get into the storyline, its pretty confusing, I suppose you should start from the beginning of the books, but after reading this preview, I'm not really motivated to try.
I prefer Sherriyn Kenyon and I've jsut started the Christine feehan ones. I had doubts about the Christine feehan ones at first, but after giving the first book a try I nearly gave up until I forced myself to read until about half way through when that's when it got interesting and I finally got into it.
