After Alex wipes his chin he smiles at me and then just keeps on looking. I start to get uncomfortable from his intense stare so I look at Isabel, hoping she hasn't noticed and won't get mad. I know she and Alex aren't together, but there is a kind of unwritten expectation that he will drool over her until eternity and I definitely don't want to get in the way of that.
Deciding it might be safer to move over to where Max and Michael are examining the note before looking back at Alex. When I do our eyes lock and I quickly look at my shoes, not sure what to do about this new attention. Maria brushes by me, vacating a seat on the couch. I drop down next to Max, looking over his shoulder at the note.
Okay - let's try it he says and then the words on the paper dissolve into thin air, leaving it blank. Max gasps, and I bite my lip, starting to understand why Michael is so freaked.
Max speaks again Who are you and what do you want with us?
Michael has moved behind us on Max's other side and we watch breathless as words begin to form Care for answers true...
...or merely notions
to calm, in lieu...
Michael yells and begins to walk away but Max yanks him back unceremoniously to witness as the words change again. If my words...
...confuse you much...
...request that I change...
...it will be as such
Really worried now I put a hand on Max's arm, wanting to hold onto something real. Michael barks a laugh and screams at the ceiling before dropping onto the other end of the couch. The force sends me falling into Max from which I'm trying to extricate myself when the words change one more time It is done...
...you posed a question...
...I believe it was...Who are you and what do you want with us?
...who I am is of no consequence...what I require of you, you will soon find out...
...do you crave anything further?..
Really worried I look around at the rooms occupants and with a start I realize that both Maria and Kyle are missing.
As my eyes pass Alex I notice that he's looking at me again with that wierd far-away look in his eyes again, but I push the though from my mind with the worry of where the others are.
Not wanting to freak anyone out I speak in an undertone to Max "Umm, not to worry anyone- but where did Kyle and Maria go? And should we maybe go get them back? I'm- I'm really worried Max. This is serious, and we have no idea where it's coming from. Nesado never told me anything about an alien that can read minds without touching you, or who can make words appear on a page. What are we going to do?"

...do you crave anything further?.. the note says. I sure as hell do crave something further. The writer of the notes didn't answer either question. Not who he or she was, not what she wants with us.
Before I can demand that she explain what she wants NOW and also tell us WHY, Tess mentions that Maria and Kyle have disappeared.
"Kyle stepped out with the trash," I say, trying to stay calm although I'm not. He should have been back by now. I'm beginning to think none of us should be alone. Ever.
And now Maria's gone, too.
"We gotta find them," I say, heading for the door.

I got up from my chair as Max headed out to the door.
"They are probably just outside, catching a break from all of this..." I wave my hand towards the note in Max's hands. "I bet you'll just find them outside the door."
I left my empty plate by my chair and went to sit down on the couch next to Tess. Well, not really close to her, but at least the cushion over from her. I wasn't really certain of what was going on, especially with the note from Ulyssa. Whatever had appeared on there hadn't been revealed to me, so I didn't quite feel the same pressing concern everyone else felt...well that Tess and Max felt. The other pod squad members had yet to chime in.

Liz is sure they're fine. They probably are, but I just need to be sure. After all, one boy already died. The whole reason for all of us to be here tonight is because we need to watch out for each other. We can't do that if people are wandering off by themselves.
Stepping through the door, I see Maria and Kyle are together just outside, just as Liz predicted. I breathe a sigh of relief, glad to see that they're safe and unconcerned.
"Hey guys," I say as they turn to me. "I just lost track of you. I don't want any of us to be alone until we figure this out," I add. Of course, they're not alone if they're with each other, I just want to make sure they stay that way. I try not to remember that both Michael and Maria were alone on their way over here. That worked out, but I don't know if we want to push our luck.
"See ya in a bit, I guess," I tell them and step back inside. I hope I'm not making a mistake, seeing as neither of them have powers, although I'm not sure our powers are going to help at all.
I move back towards the middle of the living room, nodding at Liz. "You're right. They're fine. I don't want anyone to be alone, 'though." Same rules as Copper Summit, I think. There, Liz ended up wandering the town alone at night for over an hour even after I went after her. It was too hard to keep trying after she insisted that what I'd seen that night was real. Her and Kyle...
I shut those thoughts out and try to focus on the here and now. Looking at the paper, I speak aloud my thoughts from before. "Tell us NOW what you're planning to do. And tell us WHY." I need to know what kind of danger we are in. I don't want any of us to die like Jason did...

I was standing outside, where I had been joined by Kyle, when Max came running out the door like in a panic. But, then he seemed realized when he saw us.
"I guess we forgot to ask or sign out before we left, huh?" I say to Kyle smiling and joking. I know Max meant well, but I was just in a bad mood.... thanks to dumbass Guerin. "Please explain to me again why we run around with aliens???" I say to Kyle, still joking.

After I mention Kyle and Maria Max jumps to his feet, and without answering my question heads towards the door to find them. Liz tries to reassure him, but he doesn't seem to pay much attention as he walks out of the room.
Liz comes to sit near me on the sofa and I try to smile at her. I know after her thing with Kyle that she doesn't feel as comfortable with the group, and I hope that she doesn't feel weird being here.
After a moment of silence Max returns You're right. They're fine. I don't want anyone to be alone, 'though. He seems to space for a second and then speaks decisively to the paper in his hand. "Tell us NOW what you're planning to do. And tell us WHY."
Sensing that he is less then calm I move to stand beside him, but instead of saying something I just place a hand on his arm and wait for the paper to communicate with us again.

I was going to go back inside but then Maria came there so I decided to stay outside for a while. We didn't really talk - never did. But oh well. Standing outside with Maria was better than standing inside with the pod squad. Max came out. Probably to check if we were okay - or where we were.
"Hey guys. I just lost track of you. I don't want any of us to be alone until we figure this out" Max says. I roll my eyes and looked away. "See ya in a bit, I guess" he continued and went back inside.
"I guess we forgot to ask or sign out before we left, huh?" Maria joked. I shrugged and grinned a little. "Please explain to me again why we run around with aliens???" she continued asking.
"Well, I know why I am. It's not that I'd want to be, but.." I mumbled. "I guess we're just bunch of people who got abducted into this mess. You know..." I sighed.
I let out a small laugh. "I guess it just sounds stupid. Aliens, abducting and all that, but it's real...so...real" I shook my head. "SOmetimes it feels like a dream"

This mind reading parchment's got everyone on edge, paranoid even. Kyle and Maria disappear outside to take a break from the chaos and Max worries that something's happened to them. I shake my head involuntarily; did the great and mighty King not trust me to even look after my own girlfriend?
Maria and Kyle return from their reprieve as I contemplate making a sarcastic remark but decide against it. Max takes his seat back on the couch, flanked by Tess. As I recline back on the couch, I look outside, still angry...angry about Max...about the fight I'd had with Maria, for which I had yet to apologize and most of all, about this Ulyssa woman.
As Max asks another question, I am startled by a loud noise. Something resembling a thunder clap, cracks loudly outside, which is in an of itself odd, given the fact that it's a bright and sunny day in Roswell.
Apparently I'm not the only one surprised by the sound, from the looks on everyone's faces. I get up from the couch and move towards the door, firmly intent on for the third time today, investigating the disturbance. As I reach the door, I glance up at the once bright and cloudless sky to find that is rapidly being replaced with a thick dark grey ceiling of clouds, creating an unnaturally dark sky.
I think I'm witnessing the beginnings of a thunderstorm brought on by the heat when we hear another loud BOOM. One of the girl's scream's behind me, I turn to look at the group and find that the entire rooming is growing steadily dimmer. Looking back outside I see that the sky too has darkened still.
Most if not all of the street lamps in Roswell are light sensitive. Meaning, whenever the surrounding light passes a certain threshold, the lamps automatically come on. As I struggle to see my hand in front of my face, I notice that the lights have not come on, and I realize with a jolt.... that they're not going to.
"It's her..." I say to the shadowy figure, that I believe is Max. In a moment, his dark silhouette is no more. My entire surroundings are pitch black. I wait for me eyes to adjust the darkness but find that they do not. I've lost even my night vision.
"Michael.... I'm scared where are you..." I hear Maria cry.
"Max, what's happening?" Tess says evenly.
"Oh God, Max" Isabel says, fear lacing her words.
"Everyone just stay calm" Max says, in his most diplomatic voice. Trying to sound calm himself but just below the surface he's as unsure as the rest of us. I attempt to walk in the direciton of Maria's voice, but crash painfully into the wall.
"SHIT!" I scream, as I nurse my head.
"What happened?" Maria says, sounding concerned.
"Nothing I just...." I kick the wall that just attacked me "...walked into a wall"
"Uh, now would be a great time to work that alien mojo and get some light in here." Alex says half laughing and half scared shitless.
Feeling slightly stupid for not having thought of that before my altercation with the wall, I stretch my hand forward, palm out and focus my energy on producing some light. My hand glows, providing some light, but not enough to illuminate the entire room. I use my hand to navigate towards Maria, but instead find myself in front of the couch Max is sitting on, still holding the parchment.
"Max..." I say, as I hover my hand just above the parchment. The words on the parchment were now gone. In its place was a figure.... A dark hooded figure, that seemed to jump off of the page or at the very least, appeared to be 3 dimensional.
The figure was not stagnant, but seemed to shift and move as though it were a live hooded figure only shrunken down to the length of a pencil, standing on end.
After a few moments the figures miniscule head leaned up, as though to look at us. The figure was faceless, or so it seemed as the hood covering it prevented me from seeing any distinguishing features.
Despite its size, when the shrunken figure finally spoke, its voice seemed to fill in the entire room. All other sound was completely blocked out. Even the sound of my own breath was mute. All around us was this metallic, almost synthesized voice....

"An impatient bunch you are, the lot of you...I hadn't planned on revealing myself to you all at this time, but yet here I am." My miniature apparition proclaims.
"Though I'm not entirely correct in saying this, you have been in my presence before this." I say as I produce a glowing ball of light from my miniature hand and send it backwards, creating a virtual curtain of dull white light.
"It is thanks to me that you all were given early leave from your studies today..." I say as I begin to replay this afternoon's events on the curtain behind me, cumulating with the boy's spectacular dive. "No need to thank me, honestly....it was my pleasure." I say cheerfully.
"Now, I give you an option which I did not give your peer..." I say, as I replay the boys dive over and over again on the screen-like curtain behind me.
"...do you choose to learn the meaning of my presence today....or would you rather wait until tomorrow and allow yourselves one more evening of clear minds and fruitless thoughts..."
"...the choice is yours, but understand this...either way, you will learn soon enough...there will be no escaping it" My apparition says, as the curtain behind it fades.

You're right. They're fine. I don't want anyone to be alone, 'though."
"Okay, I can agree with that." I say to Max, but he has already moved on to questioning the parchment in his hand. Instead of staying on the couch I get up and walk over to the chair I was sitting on earlier, a little ways from Max and Tess. I take a sip of water from my water glass beside my chair and wait to see what kooky thing will show up next on the paper.
*Whoever this person is, that is messing with us...she enjoys games, deadly cruel games. I wonder why...* I think to myself silently.
I raise my glass to my lips again and suddenly drop it at the loud crack of thunder that slices through the room. The glass spills, but only bounces harmlessly on the floor.
*Thunder? It's not even cloudy outside...wait a second...*
The room begins to grow gradually darker as the sky outside grows pregnant with rapidly forming dark clouds. I get up to turn on the lamp beside the couch when another loud BOOM sounds. I jump in fright and stand still in the middle of the room, a few feet away from the couch and the lamp. The room begins to steadily dimmer, like an out of focus camera lens...until it is pitch black. I can't even see the hand I wave in front of my face.
I here Michael say omniously, "It's her..."
"Michael.... I'm scared where are you..." Maria cries out.
*I wish I knew where I was too...*
"Max, what's happening?" Tess says evenly.
"Oh God, Max." Isabel says, fear lacing her words.
"Everyone just stay calm" Max says, in his most diplomatic voice.
I hear Michael bang into the wall as he tries to get over to Maria.
"Uh, now would be a great time to work that alien mojo and get some light in here." Alex says half laughing and half scared shitless.
"I second that motion..." I say in a small voice.
A dim light appears slightly to my left. I watch as it moves over and illuminates the space slightly in front of me, where I think Max is sitting. Suddenly a metallic synthsized-sounding voice fills the room. Her voice fills the room as she speaks. As she speaks she forms a blank screen behind her and replays over and over again the "footage" of Jason jumping off the building.
"Why would we thank you?! Thank you?! For killing someone?! No! I want to know now!"
How could this person think that we would thank her for something like that?! I wanted to know what was so important that a person had to die for whatever it was that she wanted of us.

ooc: I hope this works with everyone's, let me know. Otherwise I can changed.
