I think that I am more proud of this chapter then anything I have ever written before so I hope you all like it as much as me.

Part 20
Kyle arrived home late after his evening out with Isabel. It was a good night. He loved dancing with Isabel. When she got on the dance floor she was free and she just felt the music and it took control. Isabel was a very controlled sometimes even emotionally repressed person but when she was dancing all her inhibitions were lifted and the real Isabel Evans emerged. Kyle was very much enamored with that woman and if tonight was any indication the feeling was mutual. They had said a long goodbye, which lasted about two hours, outside of her doorway. Kyle had a huge smile on his face as he walked past Michael’s room to get to his own. He suddenly stopped when he heard a very loud moan and it wasn’t a “I’m in pain moan” it was most definitely “this feels incredibly good” moan. Kyle smiled knowing what that meant. He’d known it was only a matter of time and was truly happy for both of them. He just hoped they were ready to deal with the implication of them truly being “together”. The biggest consideration was telling their parents, which they were going to have to do very soon. Kyle decided to talk with them in morning about it.
***
The next morning the blissfully happy and sated couple walked hand in hand into the kitchen where they found Kyle leaning against the counter drinking a cup of coffee.
“Morning, by the look of the two of you I would say you had a good evening last night.” Kyle said with a devilish grin on his face.
Maria blushed and Michael merely nodded.
Kyle’s face grew serious. “You might want to think about talking with Mom and Dad and letting them know about you guys because I guarantee if they get one look at the two of you together they will know something is up and I’m not sure they will like that you are hiding it from them”
Michael nodded. “I know. I’ve been thinking about that. I think I’m going to have a talk with Dad today. It would be better to prepare him first before the two of us talk with him and Mom. She is going to flip out.”
“You got that right. I mean she will be ok with it after she calms down but you know she is going to lose it for a little while. Dad knowing and being prepared for the inevitable is definitely a good idea.” Kyle agreed.
Maria quietly sat down at the kitchen table. Last night had been so unbelievably spectacular and she felt so completely loved and happy that she hadn’t thought about the next step. Telling people; most importantly their parents, that they were a couple, was terrifying.
Michael saw the fear on Maria’s face and rushed over to her. “Are you ok?”
Maria nodded. “I’m scared. What if they hate us for being together?” Maria asked
Michael kneeled down in front of Maria, holding her hands in his own. “Maria you know they will never hate us. They love us, unconditionally. Yeah they will probably be a little upset and understandably concerned for us but in the end they will still love us. Right?” Michael turned to Kyle for backup
“Absolutely. Michael’s right Maria. It will be ok. You just have to remember that they love us no matter what and more importantly that you two love each other. That is all that really matters anyhow.” Kyle agreed
Maria wrapped her arms around Michael and looked over his shoulder towards Kyle. “No matter what we are still family, right?” Maria asked
Kyle kneeled down besides Michael and looked into Maria’s eyes. “You are my family. You will always be my sister and Michael will be my brother. Always.”
Maria unwrapped one of her arms from Michael and pulled Kyle into a hug with both of them. “I love you.” Maria told them both

Later that day…
Michael walked into his father office and shut the door. “I need to talk with you privately.” Michael said very seriously.
Jim Valenti looked at his son’s serious face and knew immediately that this was very important. “You want to talk here or someplace else.”
“Someplace else.”
Jim nodded and grabbed his hat and his keys. “Then let’s take a ride.”
On they way out Jim stopped at the front desk. “Michael and I out for awhile. Have Kyle take care of anything that comes in. Don’t call us unless it is an absolute emergency and check with Kyle before you do.” Jim ordered Hanson
“Will do Sheriff” Hanson said with a smile.
Jim rolled his eyes at his son after he turned his back on Hanson. Michael was so nervous and worried about the upcoming conversation with his dad that he didn’t even crack a smile. Jim was rapidly becoming concerned about his son to say the least.
Ten minutes later they pulled up to the Quarry. Michael had suggested it was a quiet place for them to talk where they wouldn’t be disturbed by anyone.
“Ok son, we’re here. You ready to tell me what this is all about.” Jim said
Michael stepped out of the patrol truck and waited for his father to follow him as he leaned against the hood of the vehicle.
“I don’t know where to start.” Michael finally said.
Jim could see the fear on his son’s face and it almost took his breath away. Out of all his children he never had to worry about Michael. He was the most solid and grounded of the three. Even after everything that Michael had endured as a child Jim never once saw the emotion on his face that he was showing now. So Jim knew whatever Michael had to talk to him about it was very serious.
“How about the beginning. That is usually the best place to start.” Jim suggested.
“A lot of the night that mom and her ass of a husband found me is pretty much a blur. I remember the bright lights of the car and being scared, no actually terrified, of the people who walked out of the car towards me. But that is it. The only thing clear in my mind is Maria. I remember mom putting me in the back seat of the car next to her and thinking she was the prettiest thing I had ever seen. Maria placed her small, perfect little hand on top of mine as we drove away and all my fear just drained away. I knew everything was going to be ok. But then of course it wasn’t. Not her fault or even mom’s really. She did what she thought was best for her family.” Michael said taking a breath for a minute. This was the hardest thing he had ever had to do in his life. Talking about his childhood before he was a family with the Valenti’s was extremely difficult and something he’d never really done before. Especially not to his parents.
“Michael is this about why you were in the desert?” Jim asked trying to figure out what his son was trying to say.
“No not at all. You said to start at the beginning well that night I was found and met Maria for the first time is when it begins. See after I was sent to live with Hank you know that things were bad. He was a bastard. He got drunk and pushed me around a lot. Most of the time he didn’t leave marks where people could see but there were always bruises. On my back, on my legs or my chest but he was always careful not to mark my face or my arms even when he was at his worst. He didn’t want to lose his meal ticket. I hated school. I hated seeing all those happy, normal kids who didn’t have a care in the world. They had happy families where they felt safe. They were never hungry or scared. But I always went there anyway because I was away from Hank’s fists or belt but mostly I went so I could see Maria. She made all the pain and fear I felt go away. She made me feel like I was someone special. That someone cared about me. I was pushing her in the swing the day she saw the bruise on my arm. My shirt was to short in the arms and when I went to grab the chains of the swing the sleeves slid up enough that she saw them. I’ll never forget the look on her face. She was horrified and sickened. At first I thought it was me that she was disgusted with and I ran but Maria caught up to me and made me show her all of them. After I did, she grabbed my hand and we ran all the way to her mom’s store. Maria flew into mom’s arms and started crying. Somehow she understood what Maria was trying to say to her and mom came over to me and asked me to show her the bruises. I was scared but Maria took my hand and I pulled my shirt off and showed mom the worst of them. Maria saved me that day. She brought me to her mom and from then on I had nothing to fear. When I went to school after that I was one of the normal, happy kids. And soon you and Kyle were with us and we were a family. I had a family and I felt safe. I knew that none of you would let anyone hurt me again. And I was with Maria and she made the nightmares go away.” Michael looked at his dad who had tears in his eyes. Jim Valenti was a strong and sometimes stoic man but the love he had for his family was something he was never was afraid to show. It humbled Michael.
“I guess I have never really thanked you for helping mom keep me and for always being there for me. For being my dad when you really didn’t have to.” Michael said softly.
Jim put his hand on his son’s shoulder. “You’re my son as much as Kyle is. You know that right?” After seeing Michael nod he continued. “I loved you from day one. You’re mom brought you into my office and all I saw was this hurt little boy who was clinging to the most adorable little girl I’d ever seen and I knew I had to help you become a family. And then I looked at your mom and saw her desperation and anger at what had happened to you and I fell in love instantly. I had no choice from that moment on. My life was set out in front of me. I was going to protect and love you all from then on. It was never a chore or a duty. It was my life and I have loved every minute of being your father. I am proud to be your father. Never doubt it.” Jim declared.
Michael’s own eyes became misty and he turned his eyes away for a moment for them to clear. When he faced his father again he had his emotions under control. “I know. You’ve always shown all of us that you loved us and that we were you kids no matter what. I’ll always be grateful for that. I will never forget it.”
“Son I’m going to be honest you are scaring the hell out of your old man right now. You are soundly like something is going to change.” Jim said fear evident in his voice.
Michael sighed and walked away from his dad to pick up a stone and throw it into the quarry. “Things are going to change. They have changed. So much. Some of which I wish I could tell you about but I can’t. But the thing that has changed the most is Maria and me.” Michael finally said.
“You and Maria? I don’t understand.” Jim said confused
“You told me to start from the beginning so I did and I told you how important Maria was to me from day one. She was the one shining light in my life when everything else was so horrible. And then even when we all moved in together and were a family Maria was my touch stone. She was the one constant that made me allow myself to open up to the rest of you. If it hadn’t been for her I don’t know if I would have had to courage to it. I loved her from the moment I saw her in the back of the car and that has never changed. I love her now and I will love her forever.” Michael declared
Jim was still confused. He didn’t understand and told him so. “I still don’t understand what you’re saying.”
Michael closed his eyes for a moment and finally got the words out that he needed to say. “You remember years ago when you and mom wanted to adopt me but I wouldn’t allow it. I know it hurt you both but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t become Maria’s brother. It was wrong. She’s always been my family, and I have loved her with all my heart but NEVER as her brother. I’ve never wanted to be that. And as we grew up I felt things that were anything but brotherly. I’m in love with her Dad. I LOVE her. And by some miracle she loves me back.”
Jim’s eyes grew in size when he finally understood what Michael was so tormented about. The reason he was so scared about this conversation was crystal clear. His own emotions were all jumbled up. He loved his family more than anything else in the world. He always would, no matter what. But what Michael was telling him was beyond his imagination. He’d never even considered it was possible. He’d always known that Michael and Maria were close, actually all three of them were exceptionally close but it was always clear that Michael and Maria shared a special bond. But to be in love, it was unfathomable. And quite frankly it was disturbing to him.
Michael watched his father as his words sunk in. He saw an array of emotions cross his face and he quickly turned away when he saw just how upset his dad was becoming. He couldn’t bare to see the disappointment or even disgust that was inevitable.
“I’m sorry, Dad.” Michael whispered as he quietly walked away.
Jim heard the anguish in his son’s voice and that quickly brought him back to his senses. No matter what he thought of this change it wasn’t important. All that was important was that his children never doubted his love and unconditional support of them. He followed his son quickly, putting his hand on his shoulder and turning him around to face him. “Michael, I told you just a few minutes ago that I’m proud to be your father and that I love you. That is never going to change. NEVER. No matter what. Do you understand me?” Jim asked and when Michael nodded he continued. “Ok so you have thrown me for a loop here. I didn’t expect this. And it is going to take a bit for it all to sink in. But I hear what you are saying to me. I dont quite understand how it came to be but that is my problem not yours. Ok? You and Maria are my kids. Nothing is going to change that. And if the two of you are in love and want to be together then I’m not going to stand in your way. But son I have to ask if you are sure this is road you want to take. You know it is not going to be easy?” Jim asked
“I know. I know it is crazy, and unimaginable to you and that people are going to think that what we are is wrong but god Dad I can’t change how I feel. I’ve tried. I’ve ignored it, I’ve buried it, I’ve denied it to myself and others until I couldn’t do it anymore. She’s my world. If I can’t be with her than I don’t want to… I won’t be able to… deal with it. We’re together Dad. I mean really together. There isn’t any going back now.” Michael declared
Jim closed his eyes at his son’s admission. He didn’t want to think about his children “together” that way but the obvious need for his acceptance was plainly visible on Michael’s face. He had to get over his own feelings or he’d lose him, maybe even lose them both and that was unacceptable. “Ok son. I get it. I understand what you are trying to say to me. We’ll deal with what happens. As a family we will stick together. You’re my kids, I love you and I will support you no matter what.”
This time Michael did not turn his head to hide his tears and they flowed freely down his face. He’d been terrified even after he’d reassured Maria that everything was going to be fine that their dad would turn his back on them. That Jim Valenti would not be able to accept their relationship. To finally hear the words he desperately needed to hear was too much for him to stay in control of his emotions.
Jim put his arms around his son and hugged his tightly. For all his strength and courage, Michael Guerin, was still the hurt little boy that he saw for the very first time so many years before. Michael was now a man but he would always be his child and he showed him so by hugging him tighter even when Michael had started to pull away. Finally Michael hugged him back and, for the first time since Jim had known him, he let all that he was feeling out and cried in his father’s arms.
A few minutes later Michael pulled back wiping at his eyes. This time Jim let him go and silently waited for Michael to get himself together.
“Thank you.” Michael whispered
“I’m your father Michael.” Those four words said it all.
After a few minutes Michael turned to face his father and said the one thing that brought fear to both of their faces. “What about mom?”

Part 21
Michael and Jim drove back to the station in silence. Telling Amy Deluca-Valenti something this major and important scared the living hell out of both of them. Both knew that Amy was an emotional person, and whereas Jim internally debated with himself on how to deal with Michael and Maria’s relationship and all that it implied, Amy would be the complete opposite. She would vocalize it all and quiet loudly. Amy was passionate about all things but nothing more than the safety and happiness of her children. She would be shocked and disturbed by their revelations but more importantly she would be terrified for them. She would worry about what the rest of the town would think of them, how they would be treated, what it would mean for their futures. None of these things would be new to Michael or Maria as they knew as well as their parents the problems there relationship would cause and the hurdles they would have to get through but in their eyes in was worth it because they loved each other. Jim and Michael both prayed that Amy would be able to see this as well, and quickly, because it was not going to be a pretty sight until she did. Amy would not allow anything to hurt them even themselves.
“Give me a few days to talk with your mom. I’ll start coaching her on how we have to remain supportive of you kids and to show you no matter what that we love you. She’s going to lose it no matter what, you realize, but hopefully if I remind her later of the previous conversations we’ve had she will come around quicker.” Jim said.
“Thanks Dad. We appreciate it. We all agreed that talking to you first was the best thing.” Michael told his father.
Jim turned to his son. “We all? I’m assuming Kyle knows already then.”
Michael nodded. “Yeah Kyle knew before we even admitted it to each other, maybe even before, we admitted it to ourselves. He has been great about it. He’s a good brother.”
“Yeah. My kids are the best. I’d like to say that Amy and I did it all but I would be lying. The three of you we’re as responsible for you guys turning out so great as anyone else. Your unrelenting love and support for each other has been something special to witness.” Jim stated
“Maria was distraught over the thought that you wouldn’t love her anymore. Kyle and I reassured her that she was wrong. That you would love us no matter what.” Michael admitted.
“Your brother and you were correct. Tell Maria to come see me before we have the talk with your mom. Ok.” Jim gave Michael’s shoulder a squeeze before stepping out of the vehicle and walking back into the station. After checking in with Hanson, he walked by Kyle’s desk and put his hand on his shoulder squeezing it lightly and then he walked into his office closing the door behind in.
Kyle looked at Michael closely and saw the strain that this afternoon had caused him. “Everything ok?” Kyle asked
“Yeah. It will be.” Michael said
Kyle nodded and closed his eyes in silent thanks that the first big road block in Michael and Maria’s future happiness was past but the biggest one was yet to be faced. But with their dad on Michael and Maria’s side it hopefully would not be an impossible barrier for them to break through.
***
Now that one problem had been faced Michael had to do some serious thinking of what to do about the new comers in town and what their presence meant to his family. Tess and Alex had already started infiltrating their lives and he didn’t like it one bit. He worried about Max being alone to deal with Tess, who he admitted felt like she was one of them. Michael wasn’t sure what she was after but he wasn’t so sure it was as innocent as wanting to find her family. Their was to much subterfuge and lies to be anything but questionable.
Alex seemed to be a nice enough guy and if he didn’t know that things were not right with him, he may have even liked him enough to become friends with him. Even with Alex’s investigation in their lives and his obvious disguise of his true nature Michael still felt that Alex had admirable qualities. But in the end he and his girlfriend were here and they were causing his family, those he cared about most, to be worried and upset and Michael didn’t like that at all. Plus he was concerned about the person that had hurt his dad and what part Tess and Alex may have played in it. He had to protect his family at all cost. Which met they were going to have to do something about them soon.
Michael was beginning to form a plan but he needed to talk it over with Max first. Ultimately he felt like it was Max’s decision to make but he wasn’t exactly sure why he felt that way. It was just another one of those internal things that he just knew but couldn’t explain.
Michael dialed Max’s pager and waited. Max returned his call quickly. “What’s up?”
“We need to talk. It’s time to force their hands. When can you get away?” Michael asked
“I get off at 5. Isabel’s is on until late though.”
“That’s fine. Actually you’re the one I wanted to talk with anyhow. Quarry at 5:30?”
“I’ll be there.” Max stated before hanging up.
Kyle looked across the desk to his brother. “What’s up?”
“Maxwell and I have to make some decisions on what to do about them.” Michael nodded his head towards Alex’s empty desk.
“You think now is the time to deal with that.” Kyle asked
Michael nodded. “Maria and I can’t even begin starting to think about our future until we know that things are under control. I’m tired of letting fear of the uncertain hold us back from our happiness. Now is the best time to take care of this. Once and for all.”
“I got your back whatever you guys decide.” Kyle said even if it wasn’t necessary. Michael knew that he could always count on Kyle to be there for him.
Michael smiled. “You got things covered here. I’m going to walk over to the court house. I need to talk with my lady.”
“I’ll radio you if we get a call.” Kyle said smiling at his brother’s retreating form. After today’s talk with their dad Michael seemed more at ease with acknowledging his relationship with Maria. Talking about ladies made him think about a very beautiful and sexy one who made him smile even more. He was happy. Michael and Maria were on the way to being very happy and hopefully soon this other stuff will be over and they can all look to the future, one that would hopefully be bright for them all.

Another quick part to set the action up.
****
Part 22
At 5:30 Michael was leaning on the hood of his vehicle waiting patiently for Max to arrive. It was Michael’s second trip to the Quarry today and he was almost as stressed about this meeting as he was the first. It was a warm day so he’d taken off his uniform shirt. Luckily he did not have long to wait.
Max walked out of his car looking tired and for lack of a better word, frazzled. He still had on his scrubs and his hair was looked like he had been running his hands through it all day.
“You look like hell Maxwell.” Michael commented
Max gave Michael a small smile and then took a deep breath. “I feel like I have been there and back. You are right. We need to do something and do it fast.”
Michael grew concerned and stood up straight. “What happened?”
“She is messing with my head Michael. I swear she is making me see things that aren’t there and think things I don’t want to think. It is like I have no control. She cornered me in the drug closet today. I mean literally had me in a corner where I couldn’t even move. There is no doubt now that she is one of us. But what the hell does she want.” Max said frustrated.
“I don’t like this at all Max. Isabel can go into people’s dreams maybe Tess has the ability to go into people’s minds, maybe even control them. That isn’t good at all. We have to take care of this before she hurts someone.” Michael declared.
“We need to get Tess and Alex alone, away from people and just call them out. Find out what the hell they are doing here and what they want.” Max said
“I totally agree. A part of me wants to just go after her blasting but another part is thinking she may be one of us, part of our family, and she is just testing you to see how much you will take before you confront her. Either case she is a threat to us until we know for certain. When do you want to do it and how? Michael asked. Again he had the feeling that he should be turning to Max for answers, like he had to be the one to make the decision. Michael could give his opinion and advice but ultimately Max had to be the one to decide what to do. It was very weird for him but deep down it felt like the right thing to do.
“Tonight. Her shift ends at 8. Alex always picks her up. I think one of us should, Isabel and also maybe Kyle, get Alex and then the two of us should be get Tess as she is going to Alex’s car. We’ll take them someplace quiet and secure and interrogate them. Got any ideas of where?” Max asked
Michael thought about it for a moment and then thought of the perfect place. “The old soap factory. It is abandoned. Kids use it for raves sometimes on the weekends but it should be empty tonight. After we have them I’ll send Kyle ahead and he will chase anyone out of there and make sure the place is secure. Sound good?”
Max nodded his approval. “Ok tonight we will meet up outside the hospital at 7:30. I’ll let Isabel in on the plan and you take care of things on your end. We’ll end this one way or another tonight. We have to. We have no other choice.”
Michael nodded and they got back into their vehicles and headed home so they could prepare. The first thing Michael had to do was talk to Kyle and let him know the plan and finally he had to talk with Maria. He had to tell her how much he loved her again, just in case things went bad tonight.
On the way home he made the necessary call to Kyle and told him not to come home until he picked him up so they could meet Max and Isabel at the hospital.
Maria was waiting for him when he walked in the door.
“How did it go with Max?” Maria asked.
Michael wanted to lie to her. He wanted to tell her everything was fine and that nothing had been planned. He wanted to reassure her that it wasn’t dangerous but in the end he couldn’t lie, he answered her honestly. “We are taking care of it tonight. Tess is messing with Max. We can’t wait any longer.”
Maria was instantly terrified for Michael and even Max’s safety. She didn’t want him to go. She didn’t want any of them to get hurt. “You better be careful Michael. I swear if you… I will never…” Maria took a deep breath and whispered “I couldn’t stand it.”
Michael pulled Maria into her arms and held her tightly as she cried against his shoulder. “I will be careful. I will come back to you. I swear. I will never leave you.” Michael declared.
“Love me Michael. Before you have to leave, love me.” Maria pleaded as she pulled his shirt up over his chest and finally off of him and dropped it on the floor.
Michael kissed Maria passionately trying to express to her with his mouth and with his wandering hands how very much he loved her and needed her. And then finally he moaned “I need you Maria. I love you so much.”
Michael spent the next hour loving Maria in every way possible. He gave all of himself to her. He hid none of his desires, his wants or his needs from her. Through the connection their minds formed as they made love she was able to see it all and she hoped that she had opened as much of herself to Michael as well. She wanted him to know what he had to come back to. She needed him to fight to come back. Maria knew wouldn’t survive if anything happened to him tonight. If he came home safe to her tonight then nothing, not their mother, not the community of Roswell or even the rest of the world’s opinion of the two of them would matter. Because all that was important was for Michael to be safe and come home to her.
At 7:00 Michael kissed Maria goodbye at the door and walked out to meet Kyle who was waiting in the car for him. Maria took one last look at them both, tears flowing down her cheeks, before turning away and closing the door. She could not watch them drive away from her. The fear and pain was too much.
“Please god, keep them all safe and please let Michael come home to me.” Maria prayed as she made her way to the couch where she would silently wait for her family to come home.

Part 23
At 7:30 Kyle and Michael pulled up beside Max and Isabel’s car. Kyle got out and walked quickly to Isabel’s side. She looked terrified. “You ok?” Michael asked after seeing her face as well.
“Yeah sure. Peachy. We are going to go up against possibly evil aliens who want to annihilate us and destroy our whole lives. What’s not to be ok about?” Isabel said sarcastically.
“Sounds like a fun night to me. Don’t know what you are worried about.” Kyle said trying to lighten up the mood a bit as he put his arm around Isabel. Isabel hugged Kyle tightly.
“Don’t worry good looking I’ll protect you. I am a Super Cop you know.” Kyle said winking at his brother and Max letting them know that he had Isabel covered.
“Ok well Alex should be pulling up any moment now. Kyle you and Isabel take care of him. Pull you gun on him if you need to Kyle and get him into my car. Michael and I will keep an eye out for Tess and we’ll meet you back at the car. Don’t let you guard down until we get there. Alex may look harmless but we don’t know that for sure.” Max instructed.
“Aye, aye captain.” Kyle said saluting Max. None of them could help but smile at him.
Five minutes later Alex Whitman’s car pulled into the parking lot to wait for Tess to get off of work. He had his window up and his music playing loudly. Kyle approached the car, his hand resting on his service revolver and knocked on Alex’s window.
Alex was surprised to see Kyle standing outside of his car and rolled down his window. “What’s up Kyle?”
Just as Alex addressed Kyle Isabel used her powers to unlock the passenger side door and slip in the car besides Alex.
Alex was startled and looked to Isabel quickly. “What is going on?”
“That’s what we want to know and as soon as my brother and hers round up your girlfriend we plan to find out.” Kyle told him.
“Now let’s make this easy for everyone and you get out of the car nice and slowly and no one will get hurt.” Kyle instructed as he pulled his gun out of its holster to make the point abundantly clear.
Alex didn’t fight them. He did as Kyle instructed and walked to Max’s car as he was told. Kyle and Isabel sat in the car with him and watched him carefully. Isabel hoped that Tess would be as easy to restrain as Alex but she highly doubted it.
Meanwhile right outside the hospital doors Michael and Max watched and waited. Michael looked at his watch and saw that it was now 8:00 Tess should be coming out of the door any moment.
Tess stepped outside the door and started walking towards where Alex always parked the car. Michael and Max stepped quickly out of the shadows and came up beside her each grabbing hold of an arm.
“Before you try any of you mind crap. You should probably know that we already have your boyfriend and unless you come with us nice and peaceful he will be hurt.” Michael warned
Tess looked at her two captors and smiled but did not make a move to stop them. She did however take a quick breath of relief when she saw Alex. This did not go unnoticed by either Michael or Max.
Michael pushed Tess in the car beside Alex. “Hi honey. How was your day?” Tess asked Alex laughter evident in her voice.
None of them liked the carefree attitude that Tess was taking. This all seemed way too easy. Something was definitely up with these two.
Alex leaned closer to Tess so he could kiss her on the cheek. “Same old same old.”
The four exchanged a look and Michael nodded his head towards Kyle’s car letting him know he should go and secure the soap factory. They would follow in a few minutes.
Michael got in the back seat with Tess and Alex, his gun drawn in one hand and his other prepared to blast them if needed. Isabel drove and Max sat in the passenger seat keeping his eyes closely on the two passengers in the back. He did his best to guard his mind in case she tried any of her tricks but he wasn’t sure that he would even know if she did it and that worried him.
Fifteen minutes later they pulled up to the abandoned soap factory where Kyle was waiting for them besides his vehicle.
When everyone got out of the car, Isabel took hold of Alex and Michael and Max got on either side of Tess, they headed towards the open door of the factory.
Kyle walked in ahead of them. “Everything is secure. The place was deserted when I got here.”
There were two posts in the middle of the main floor and Michael and Kyle handcuffed Tess and Kyle to them.
Max stood in between the two captives with Isabel and Michael on either side of him while Kyle stood off to the side letting them do there thing.
“Who are you and what do you want with us?” Max finally asked
Alex turned to Tess and she smiled at him and then looked Max in the eyes. “You already know who I am. But shouldn’t the question really be, ‘Who am I, what are we and where did we come from’.” Tess said nodding her head to all three of them indicating she was talking about the three of them and not her and Alex.
“Tell us what we want to know.” Max demanded
“You are a king, she is your sister, he is your second in command and I’m your wife.” Tess said slowly and calmly.
Tess saw the array of emotions that crossed the three of their faces. She just smiled and continued. “He…” nodding towards Alex “is my lover and he…” nodding her head towards Kyle “is our protector.”
Michael and Isabel quickly turned to Kyle and were shocked when the familiar appearance of Kyle Valenti morphed into an older, balding man.
“Well finally the royal four are together. I’ve looked for the three of you for a very long time.” The man said.
Michael sent a blast towards the man “Where the hell is my brother?”
The man laughed as he blocked the blast easily and sent the gun that Michael had in his other hand flying. “You have a lot to learn. The human is unharmed. He is sleeping peacefully in the truck of his car.”
While the three’s attention we’re directed to the man Tess easily dissolved her handcuffs and went to Alex and freed him as well. She kissed him softly and nodded her head towards the door. Alex quickly slipped out of the factory.
All three were surprised when Tess went to stand besides the man. They had no idea that she had escaped her bounds.
“You were handcuffed. How?” Isabel shouted
“That is a silly question. We can manipulate the molecular structure of things. I could have gotten rid of handcuffs when I was six.” Tess said simply.
“You three have been alone too long. You should be much farther advanced in you powers by now. I have much to teach you if you are going to be of any use to our people.” The man told them
“Who the hell are you?” Michael shouted.
“My Tessie told you. I am your protector. When I went to the cave to retrieve the four of you the three of you were already gone. Only Tess remained. I raised Tess as her father. As Ed Harding. Once upon a time, I lived with a tribe of Indians around here and they called me Nasedo. I think I actually prefer that name. Ed is so ordinary and of course I am anything but.” Ed Harding or Nasedo as he wished to be called said with an unnatural smile on his face.
“How did you make us think you were Kyle?” Max who had been silently standing beside his frightened sister and enraged “second”, finally asked.
“I’m a shape shifter. I can appear as anyone or anything I want. It makes things quite convenient.” Nasedo answered
As Nasedo was speaking Alex walked in with an arm around a groggy Kyle. Michael and Isabel saw him and quickly went to Kyle dragging him away from the other man. Alex shrugged and walked over to stand beside Tess.
“Thanks honey.” Tess said sweetly.
Alex just smiled at his lover and then looked at her seriously nodding both towards Nasedo and the others. Tess shook her head and Tess and Alex walked over towards the other aliens and the human.
Max held up his hand against them and a green shield flew up to surround Max and the others. He looked at the shield shocked but then concentrated to keep it from going away.
“We aren’t going to hurt you Max. We are just joining you, where we belong. I’m part of the three of you and where I go Alex goes. We mean you no harm.” Tess said softly.
“And him.” Max nodded towards Nasedo.
“He’s our protector. He’s been programmed to obey your commands.” Tess explained
Nasedo gave Tess a harsh look and Alex moved to stand in front of her. Max and Michael both noticed the look and nodded to each other indicating that they would talk with Tess privately later concerning the shapeshifter.

I'm going to post two parts today because I will not be at work tomorrow. The next part will be up later this afternoon.
At 7:30 Kyle and Michael pulled up beside Max and Isabel’s car. Kyle got out and walked quickly to Isabel’s side. She looked terrified. “You ok?” Michael asked after seeing her face as well.

Part 24
Against better judgment Michael decided to bring Tess and Alex back to his place. Max “ordered” Nasedo to allow them to talk with Tess alone and told him they would contact him when they were ready to find out more from him. Neither Max nor Michael trusted the man. He seemed for lack of better word inhuman to them. Michael wouldn’t be surprised if he was involved the incident with his dad and that alone made him dislike the shapeshifter.
Maria was in Michael’s arms before he even through the door. “Oh god I was so scared.” Maria whispered.
Michael kissed her gently and then moved her out of the way so that their “guests” could walk in. Maria looked at Michael inquisitively but he shook his head letting her know that now was not the time to talk about it.
Max followed Tess and Alex, watching them closely and he was followed by Isabel and a still unsteady Kyle. Maria saw Kyle’s condition and rushed to him. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” Maria asked frantically
Kyle shook his head. “I’m fine Maria. Was just knocked out by an alien but I’ll be fine.”
Maria gasped and looked towards the two strangers with fire in her eyes. She was about ready to fly at them but Michael rushed to her quickly and pulled her into his arms. “They didn’t do it Maria. I will tell you everything later.” Michael whispered in her ear as he hugged her tightly.
Maria nodded and Michael pulled away enough that he could tell Alex and Tess to take a seat. “Sit.” Michael ordered pointing towards the couch.
Alex and Tess looked at each other and smiled but complied too Michael’s demand without a word.
After everyone was settled Max turned to Tess “Tell us what you didn’t say at the soap factory.”
Alex instead of Tess spoke up. “Don’t trust him. He is evil. He’ll kill anyone that gets in between him and his plans.”
“Alex.” Tess hissed
Alex turned to Tess. “What? These people are your family. You said once you found them that we would be free. Right?”
Tess closed her eyes and sighed. “Yes, I still believe they are our only hope but you didn’t have to shout it out like that. You could have been more subtle.”
“Screw subtle, this is our lives. It is time we made a stand.” Alex said
Maria turned to Michael and whispered. “I like this guy.”
Michael squeezed her arm but did not respond other wise. Instead he spoke to Alex. “Why should we trust you anymore then him? He is supposed to be programmed to obey Max’s commands but she isn’t. Why should we trust either of you? We don’t know who you are or more importantly what you are compatible of.”
Tess was about to speak but Alex cut her off. “When I was 16 Nasedo killed my parents and forced me to decode a book from your planet. I was good with computers so he made Tess mindwarp me into going to Las Cruces and work on some super computer to decode that damn book but Tess didn’t do all he asked. I knew her from school, I liked her, we liked each other. She begged me to help her. She promised me that once the book was decoded and we found the others we would be free. I fell in love with her and even when I could have left I didn’t because I couldn’t abandon her. Personally I don’t give a crap if you trust us. All I care about is killing that creature that has taken over my life, our lives, for all these years. I want revenge for my parent’s death. I want him to pay.”
“Nasedo made a deal 50 years ago with our enemies. His plan is for us to mate and to bring your heir back to Antar to be under the control of the man who killed us and took your thrown. Alex is right. He is a killer and he will do anything to ensure that his pland come to fruition.” Tess added holding Alex’s hand in her own.
Max and Michael looked at each other and after a moment they each nodded. Michael squeezed Maria’s arm and she looked at him and also nodded. Finally Michael looked to Kyle and Isabel and they nodded as well.
Finally Max spoke. “Ok. So what do we do to take care of him?”
“He’ll never give up his plan. There is only one option. Kill him.” Tess said
“You are the Royal Four, combined you can do just about anything, including killing the unkillable.” Alex added. “I should know. I did decode that stupid book.”
“Royal Four, huh, sounds like something out of that show Charmed. The Power of Three will set us free.” Kyle joked.
Maria and Isabel tried not to laugh but after a few minutes they couldn’t hold it back. It was too intense and everyone was wound up so tight. Hysteria was only a brink away. They had to either laugh or cry. The others found themselves laughing as well, even Michael had to smirk at his brothers joke.

The next part will be on Monday. Some of you said you have questions. I hope this answers a few. More is in explained in the next part. And some interesting things happen after that. There are 4 parts left to go till the end. I have really enjoyed working on this story again and I think what has really motivated me is the feedback and encouragement I have been getting. Thanks a lot. *hugs*
I also added a little poll for fun. If you answer the poll can you explain why you feel so when you feedback. Thanks.

Part 25
While Max, Michael and Isabel were making plans with Tess Kyle and Maria spent the time getting to know Alex.
“So you and Tess?” Kyle asked.
Alex sat up straighter and looked at Kyle closely. Kyle saw Alex’s reaction and quickly added. “Just curious. I’m kind of attached to that buxom blonde beauty over there.” Kyle said pointing towards Isabel who sensed that Kyle was speaking of her turned and smiled at him.
Alex nodded and then said. “Yeah. We’ve been together since high school. Since my parents… Tess was different then, and yet I still couldn’t help myself.”
“Different.” Maria asked.
“She had been raised by a killer. He had no feelings. No love, no joy, no happiness. Imagine growing up like that and what you’d be like. She didn’t trust anyone, not even herself. She fought her own feelings for me for a long time. When we first got together it was because Nasedo ordered her to find someone who was good a computers, a loner, and someone with very little family. Unfortunately for me and my parents I fit the bill. Tess used her abilities on me for awhile but then she couldn’t do it anymore. She told me it hurt her to hurt me. And she said it was my love for her that made her want to change, to be a better person, to not be the person that Nasedo wanted her to be. She said I saved her and she promised that some day she would save us both from him. Tess swore that finding the other three would be our salvation. I really hope she is right. I want to marry her, to start a family with her. But as long as Nasedo is around he will never let that happen. He allowed me to live because I was useful and I made Tess complacent. But I know that now we have found the others my days are numbered. Tess will never do what he wants as long as I’m in the picture. She loves me to much. More than he can imagine.” Alex explained
After seeing the shocked looked on Kyle and Maria’s face he added “And I’m sure that if Max has someone in his life that he will take care of her as well. His future depends on Tess and Max mating and creating an heir. Nasedo can’t go home until that happens.”
Maria and Kyle looked at each other and Kyle got up quickly and rushed to the phone.
“What’s he doing?” Alex asked.
“Calling our friend Liz. She and Max are together. If you are right and if Nasedo has been watching them then she is probably in danger.” Maria said fear evident in her voice.
Michael who had been keeping an eye out on Maria and Kyle with Alex noticed when Kyle went to use the phone and saw the frightened look on Maria’s face. He went to her quickly. “What’s wrong?” Michael demanded
“Kyle is calling Liz and hopefully convincing her to come here. Alex has been telling us a few things that lead us to believe she may be in a lot of trouble.” Maria said quickly.
Tess looked at Alex and after a second she turned to Max. “You’re dating this Liz. Alex is right she is in a lot of danger. If I’d known you were dating someone I would have told you. I’m sorry.”
Michael was concerned about Liz but what interested him more was the way that Tess and Alex seemed to be able to communicate without talking. “Ok what is up with you and Alex? Are you telepathic or something as well?” He finally asked
Tess smiled “No but we have bonded. When our people bond a physical and mental connection is formed. It can only be severed by death. And we can’t bond with anyone else until then. We bonded years ago so our connection has grown so that we can communicate with each other in our minds. You two will be able to do that as well eventually.” Tess said as she pointed to Michael and Maria.
Kyle got off the phone and walked over to everyone else. “What did I miss?” Kyle asked seeing the shocked look on everyone face.
“Alex and Tess can communicate with each other in their minds because they are bonded. Evidently our people do that.” Isabel answered
“Hmm ok. Good to know. Anyhow, Liz is at the restaurant. She can’t get away because the place is packed so she should be ok for awhile.” Kyle informed them
“I’ll go by in awhile and hang out with her until she can get away and then take her back to my place.” Max said.
An hour later the group had come up with a plan to take care of Nasedo but only Tess and Alex were at ease with what they were going to do. They had lived with the shapeshifter for years and had endured his lack of conscious and morality as well as his prejudice against humans.
Tess and Alex went home, praying that tonight was the last night they had to share it with Nasedo, while Kyle, Isabel and Max went to pick up Liz. Isabel wanted Kyle by her side tonight as well. After hearing what Nasedo was capable of she didn’t want to risk him. She’d come close enough to losing him tonight.
Michael and Maria were left alone and neither one of them could stop thinking about what Tess told them about bonding.
“Do you think we have already?” Maria asked
Michael nodded. “If we didn’t bond the night we first made love that I don’t know what else we have to do to accomplice it. I felt you Maria. I saw things when we were together.” Michael admitted.
“Me to.” Maria whispered and then added “I guess we are married according to your people then, huh?”
Michael smiled. “I like the sound of that. When this thing with Nasedo is over, marry me for real Maria. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Become my wife.”
Maria gasped. “You’re serious?” After seeing Michael’s nod she threw herself into his arms “Yes. Yes Michael I’ll marry you.”
Michael pulled Maria tightly into his arms and kissed her passionately. He loved her so much. And soon she would be his forever. Michael had never been so happy in his life.
They frantically tore at each others clothes to remove any barrier between them. The need to be together, to feel each other, to become one was almost unbearable. They hungered for it.
“Sofa or bed?” Michael asked
“Don’t care. Need you now Michael.” Maria moaned as Michael kissed his sensitive neck.
Michael tried to walk them to the stairs so he could take them to their room but he kept stumbling over the clothes they had discarded. So instead he pushed Maria up against the wall. “To far away. I can’t wait any longer.” Michael moaned as he pushed his hard cock into her wet opening.
Maria groaned. “Yes Michael.”
“God I love you Maria.” Michael gasped as he felt her tighten around him. They’d only just begun but his release was coming quickly.
“Harder Michael. I’m almost there.” Maria shouted.
Michael thrust into Maria harder, faster. His whole body stiffened as he was hit with an intense burst of energy and then in his mind he saw images from his dreams, images that were once foggy but were now crystal clear.
Maria who’d also felt the burst of energy was seeing the same images. They frightened and excited her at the same time. She knew what she was seeing. It was where Michael and the others were “born”.
The images suddenly changed for them both, now they were seeing a wedding, their wedding, with their friends and family in attendance. They could both feel the love and happiness that they were feeling at that moment. They kissed as man and wife and Michael placed his hand on Maria’s stomach and felt the growing life under his hand. They both gasped and finally find the release they’d been reaching for.
Michael rested his head against Maria’s shoulder, tears flowing from his eyes. He knew that what he saw was their future and it overwhelmed him with happiness. They were truly going to be a family and Maria and he were going to have a baby.
“Did you see that Michael?” Maria whispered.
Michael looked quickly into Maria’s eyes. “What? What did you see?”
Maria sank down the wall pulling Michael with her. “I saw the cave. Where you came from. And then I saw… I saw our wedding. And I saw…”
“Our baby.” Michael finished for her.
Maria nodded tears in her eyes. “Do you think it’s true? Is it going to happen Michael?”
Michael took his hand and placed in on Maria’s stomach. His hand glowed for a moment and then he smiled. “It already has.”

I know I am evil to leave it there...
Anyhow hope this part was worth the long weekend wait.
I am in agreement with the majority of you who answered the poll. It is my belief that if the writers had allowed Tess to find love with someone (Kyle) she would have never went down the road she did. What they did was cheap and a total misjustice to her character as well as the fans of Roswell. I mean how many of us were sitting in front of the screen during It's too Late and It's too bad screaming. It was just WRONG. Ok enough of my rant of the day.
Hope everyone enjoyed the part. Three more parts left.

Part 26
Maria gasped. “You mean I’m…”
Michael nodded. “Yeah baby you’re pregnant.”
Suddenly Michael got scared that maybe she wasn’t ready. Maybe it wasn’t what she wanted when he saw the shocked look on her face. “Are you happy about it Maria?” Michael finally asked. Afraid of what her answer would be.
“Oh god Michael, I’m going to have your baby. We are going to be married. Yes. Yes. Yes. I am happy. I’ve never been this happy ever.” Maria shouted as she wrapped her arms tightly around him.
Suddenly Maria stiffened as a thought crossed her mind. “Oh No.”
“What?” Michael asked quickly.
“What are we going to tell Mom? Oh shit Michael. If she wasn’t going to flip enough about us being together, what do you think she is going to say about becoming a grandmother?”
Michael’s face grew pale and he sunk back against the wall heavily. “Oh shit.”
“Michael do you think that the pregnancy is going to be different you know because of who you are?” Maria asked after she was ambushed with even more concerns.
“Shit.” Michael groaned. “Ok, ok. Everything is going to be fine. Max is a doctor so he can check to make sure everything is ok. As for mom well she will calm down eventually. By the wedding at least, because everyone looked so happy for us. And all I felt was love. How about you?” Maria nodded and Michael continued. “While we are on the subject of mom I think I want to tell her and Dad about me. About who I am and where I came from. I don’t want to keep any more secrets from them.”
Maria turned and faced Michael her hand reaching up to caress his cheek. “I think you should. They should know exactly how special you really are.”
“I’m only special because I have you Maria. Your love makes me feel special.” Michael admitted.
They kissed gently. “Let’s see if we can make it to the bed this time.” Michael said after their kisses started to become more heated.

The next day Michael and Maria, although joyously happy, were also scared to death of the impending confrontation with Nasedo as well as their talk with their parents. Michael wasn’t sure which was more terrifying to him.
When the others arrived Michael was quick to tell them of the images he had seen of the cave. “I know where it is. And I think that is where we should take care of Nasedo.”
Michael pulled out a map and pointed the area that he had seen in his vision. “Are you sure this is where it is?” Max asked
Tess looked at the map and nodded. “He’s right. That’s the place.”
“Ok then that is where it happens.” Max declared.
The humans and hybrid said their good-bye’s before heading off in two different directions. The Royal Four would take care of Nasedo and Maria and Kyle would take Alex and Liz to the station to “visit” with their dad. It was agreed that they would be safer there then anyplace else until it was finally over. The humans were terrified for the ones they loved and wished them good luck and begged them to be safe.
“Come back to us.” Maria whispered
“Always.” Michael promised.
Max and Liz, Kyle and Isabel, and Alex and Tess said similar good-byes and with one last kiss and hug they finally parted.
“Are you sure that they can do it?” Maria asked Alex who was looking as anxious as the other three.
“They will do it. They have to. And from what I read the power of the four of them together is unstoppable. They were re-created especially so that their powers would combine and feed off of each other so they could fight and defeat any enemy that came their way. Tess will not fail, none of them will. I’m sure.” Alex said.

Meanwhile outside of Pullman Ranch the others sat staring at the rock formation from their dreams…
“So this is it.” Isabel said. “It was right under our noses all along.”
“He’s here.” Tess whispered as her senses tingled with Nasedo’s presence.
“Where?” Max asked looking around but seeing nothing. There was no where for anyone to hide.
Tess pointed towards the formation. “There.”
Max looked at the formation and then started running towards it. He climbed until he reached a smooth surface in the rock. He instinctually placed his hand on the rock and a hidden door opened.
“How did you know how to do that?” Michael asked.
“I just did.” Max explained.
The three entered the cave and looked at the place where they came from. Four aligned sacks or pods hung against the wall. Each of them walked to ones that they emerged from.
“So you are finally where you belong.” Nasedo shapeshifted from the rock and stood in front of his four charges.
“Yes we are.” Max said as Michael and Isabel quickly move to stand beside Max and Tess. When the four were in place Max confronted Nasedo. “So why don’t you tell us about the deal you made with our enemies.”
“Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, looks like little Tessie has been speaking out of place again. It is that damn humans bad influence again. I should have killed him when he finished decoding that book like I had originally planned.” Nasedo said smiling evilly at the four.
He looked at Tess and said. “I will rectify that mistake shortly.”
“I don’t think so.” Tess spat out.
The four joined hands as they raised their other one towards the shapeshifter. He laughed as he saw their intentions. “Do you actually think that you undeveloped children could actually be any threat to me?”
Michael smirked. “If my brother was here he would say something like, Don’t underestimate the power of the Dark Side, or in this case the Royal Four.” Michael said as he lifted his hand sending a powerful blast towards Nasedo. After Michael sent his blast, Max held up a shield to protect the four as Tess and Isabel closed their eyes to concentrate on invading Nasedo’s mind.
Nasedo screamed in pain as he felt as if he was burning up from the inside out. He had been prepared for Michael’s blast but he hadn’t expected the girl’s invasion.
“Now.” Michael shouted and Max dropped his shield and each of them sent a blast towards the weakening alien. He shouted in pain and fell to the caves floor.
“You think that by killing me that you will be safe.” Nasedo croaked. “You are wrong. They will come and now you will have no one to protect you.”
“Who?” Max demanded
“The Skins.” Nasedo said with his last breath.
The Royal Four stood back as Nasedo’s body seemed to dry out and disintegrate in front of them.
“What was he talking about?” Michael turned to Tess
Tess shook her head. “I don’t know. He never told me about the Skins. I only know the name Kivar. He was the one that Nasedo made the deal with.”
“He was probably just making it up to scare us.” Isabel said.
Max nodded. “It doesn’t matter. Nasedo is dead we can take care of anything or anyone that comes our way when the time comes. Until then we go about our lives as normal people.”
“Speaking of which Maxwell, I’ve got something to talk with you about.” Michael said as they took one last look at the pod chamber and walked away. The chamber was their past they had four frightened people waiting to hear word from them, they were their future.
On the way back to Roswell to meet the others at Michael’s place Michael told them of Maria’s pregnancy.
“You’re sure?” Max asked shocked
“Yeah I felt him.” Michael said and then he smiled brightly as he realized what he had said.
“Him? You are going to have a son.” Isabel said with a huge smile on her face.
“A son.” Tess said with a wistful look on her face. “Alex and I can have a baby now.” She whispered. “It is really over. We are free.” Tears fell down her face as she smiled at the others.
Isabel put her hand on Tess’s shoulder and gave it a squeeze.
“I’ll scan her when we get back and then we can do a formal exam at the hospital when she is ready.” Max informed Michael.
“Thanks Maxwell.”

After the humans received the call from Isabel that all was clear they headed for the apartment to wait for their loved ones to return. Liz and Alex sat on the sofa getting to know each other as Kyle and Maria stood at the door looking out the window waiting for them to pull up.
“Kyle. I have to tell you something.” Maria said.
“What?” Kyle asked concerned seeing the worried look on Maria’s face.
“Ummm. Michael and I found out something last night. Umm… And I don’t know how you are going to react to it.” Maria said. She’d wanted to tell Kyle earlier but with everything else they had to worry about she didn’t feel like it was the right time.
“Just tell me Maria.” Kyle demanded as he was really becoming scared.
“I’m pregnant.” Maria blurted out.

I missed yesterday so I am posting the last two chapters together.

Part 27
Kyle’s knees weakened and he leaned against the wall quickly. “You’re what?”
“We just found out. Actually I think it happened last night. Michael can sense the baby and we kind of had this vision or flash of something that hasn’t happened yet, our wedding. Please Kyle say that you are happy for us. Please?” Maria begged.
Kyle pulled Maria into his arms and whispered. “Of course I am happy for you. I love you.”
After a few minutes the shock finally wore off and he hugged Maria tighter and shouted. “I’m going to be an uncle.”
Liz and Alex rushed over to them as they heard Kyle’s shout. “Really?” Liz asked tears in her eyes.
Maria rushed over to Liz hugging her tightly, both crying and laughing at the same time.
This was the scene the Royal four walked in on. Michael had sensed something was up with Maria and rushed ahead of the others but when he saw Maria and Liz hugging each other and saw the smile that Kyle and Alex gave him he figured out pretty quickly what the commotion was all about.
“So I guess Maria told you?” Michael asked Kyle
Kyle hugged his brother quickly. “Sure did papa. I’m going to be an uncle.” Kyle said proudly.
Maria and Liz separated when they heard Michael speak and Liz rushed to Max as Maria rushed to Michael after he moved away from Kyle. Kyle and Alex quickly went to their girls.
“It’s over Alex. We can really be a family now. I want one Alex. I want a baby.” Tess said quietly with tears in her eyes.
“It would be my pleasure.” Alex said laughing.
***
The next day Michael and Maria were preparing to tell their parents everything.
Max had scanned Maria the night before and found that both mother and child seemed to be very healthy however it did seem that the pregnancy was advancing at a faster rate. The baby seemed to be a couple of weeks old instead of only a day. Max would have to check her daily to see if she continued to advance at the same rate or if it was just a “growth spurt” that would gradually even out. Tess informed them that an alien pregnancy usually only lasted a month but with Maria being human Max estimated that Maria’s pregnancy may last somewhere between 5-7 months.
That all being said it didn’t give them a lot of time to tell their parents, plan a wedding and get their lives prepared for the new member of the family. It was both thrilling and terrifying to them both.
Michael had told the others his wish to tell his parents and considering Maria’s pregnancy and the things they may have to eventually explain the group agreed and thought it a good idea. Isabel and Max were also secretly thrilled because they’d always wanted to tell their own parents and with Michael telling his they felt they could finally do so.
“I’m scared.” Maria whispered.
“Me to but the sooner we get this over with the better. Junior in there isn’t going to stay hidden forever.” Michael said as he placed his hand on Maria stomach.
“I want to name him after Dad.” Maria said quickly.
“James Guerin. Has a good ring to it.”
“James Michael Guerin. Jaime for short.” Maria said smiling.
“Jaime it is.” Michael agreed.
They reached their parents house and sat in the car for a moment before finally getting enough nerve to get out and walk in the house.
“Hello my sweets.” Amy said with a smile on her face.
“Hi mom.” They both said together. They both gave her a hug and a kiss and then headed towards the living room where their dad was waiting for them.
“We have some things to talk to you about. Some of it Dad’s knows already but there is a lot more we have to tell you as well.” Michael said.
Jim Valenti gave his son a questioning look but encouraged him to continue. “Go ahead Son.”
Part 28
A month later…
“I can’t believe it is finally here.” Maria said as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing the dress that she had seen in the flash. It was breathtaking and made her feel like she was the most beautiful woman in the world.
“Thank god it is. I don’t think I could take Isabel or your mom ordering me around anymore.” Tess said under her breath so Amy wouldn’t hear her and Liz nodded her head in agreement.
Isabel just smiled. “Michael said it had to be perfect so I was just doing as I was told.”
Maria laughed. “Yeah and that is why, last week, he said he was ready to go to Vegas and elope, like Alex and Tess did.”
“He asked for my help so he has to deal with the consequences. Right?” Isabel asked Amy who was helping Maria put on her veil.
“My boy knew exactly what he was getting into. He always has.” Amy said smiling.
“But mom I’m not sure if he realized that Isabel was going to be as bad if not worse than you. No offense Isabel.” Maria said
“None taken. Perfection always takes its criticism.” Isabel said seriously as the others laughed.
***
Down the hall Michael paced back and forth. “Good god will this day ever end. All I want to do is marry the woman. Why couldn’t we have been smart enough to go to Vegas like you and Tess?”
“Because you would have broken our mother’s heart as well as my Isabel’s.” Kyle pointed out.
“Shit. Don’t remind me.” Michael said as he smacked Kyle on the head.
“Children. Behave.” Jim Valenti said smiling at his boys. He was so proud of both of them and couldn’t keep that pride from showing on his face.
“Michael you should give your brother a break. He does have to live with Isabel as she and your mom plan their wedding.” Alex said laughing. He was very glad, and not for the first time, that Tess and he had gone to Las Vegas. Their “family” had joined them at the Las Vegas Hilton where Tess and he were married by a minister dressed as the Borg. Alex, being forever a geek, was in heaven and even Tess couldn’t help finding the fact that she was an alien having a sci fi themed ceremony fitting. While they were leaving Vegas they joked that Max and Liz should get married at the Elvis Chapel and for a moment the two had looked at each other, getting lost in each others eyes, seriously considering it but in the end they knew their parents would be very disappointed so they sad no.
“Yeah Alex is right. Take it from someone who has lived through a lot of Christmas’s with her. It isn’t a pretty sight. I feel sorry for the guy.” Max joined Alex laughing
Michael had to smile. He was actually feeling a little bit sorry for his brother. NOT. His life had been a living hell the past month. It was Kyle’s turn.
Even Jim couldn’t help laughing at his son’s expense.
“I’m glad you all think my relationship with Isabel is so funny.” Kyle said in mock anger. Secretly he was looking forward to the whole six months of planning. The others thought it was hell but what they didn’t know was how turned on and super excited Isabel got from organizing and planning and how often he had reaped all the benefits of it when she was planning Michael and Maria’s wedding. He couldn’t wait for her to start planning their own.
“You ready son?” Jim asked looking at his watch
“Since the day I met her.” Michael answered truthfully.
“Then get going. I have a beautiful woman to walk down the aisle.” Jim said pushing Michael and the others out of the room and towards the altar.
Tears filled Jim’s eyes when got one look at Maria in her wedding dress. She was breathtaking. His little girl was getting married and soon would be a mother. He was thrilled about becoming a Grandpa. His wife wasn’t as thrilled about the title of grandma but she was deliriously happy for her children and couldn’t wait to hold her grandson for the very first time.
“You are beautiful.” Jim whispered as he hugged Maria tightly.
“Thanks Dad. I love you. Thank you for everything. For loving us.” Maria said tears in her eyes and emotion heavy in her voice.
“That’s what fathers do. Now let’s get you married. I want my grandson to be legitimate.” Jim said smiling.
“Dad.” Maria said laughing as they began their walk down the aisle.
Maria, had eyes only for Michael, but she knew that all their friends and family were seated watching as the two of them finally became the family they were always meant to be. The last month had been anything but easy as Michael and Maria announced there impending marriage. They received shocked looks where ever they went. The word was spread quickly throughout the town. There was a lot of talk, some good but even more bad, and they decided to ignore it all because the people who were important, the ones they cared about, were happy for them and didn’t care what anybody else thought.
Their own mom had taken the news hard. She’d ranted and raved and fell into a heap of tears for what seemed like days but was only a matter of minutes and then Michael had dropped the ultimate bomb, his alien heritage, on Jim and Amy which left them both stunned beyond belief. Maria was sure that it was Michael’s tears as he asked his mom if she could still love him even if he was an alien freak that turned her around. She pulled her son into her arms and held him and declared that she was his mother no matter what and that she would always love him. Then Michael had asked if she could love their son. Their father had cried at that point and hugged Maria so tightly that she thought she was going to burst. Amy had yelled at them both for making her a grandma before she was old enough but then she kissed and hugged them both and instantly started planning their wedding.
And the day was finally here when she was going to become Mrs. Michael Guerin, to be his wife and the mother of his children, until death do them part.
Michael smiled at Maria when she finally reached him. Jim hugged both Maria and Michael and joined his wife on the front pew and Michael and Maria turned to each other. And as Michael’s recited his vows and then finally was told to kiss his bride he was thinking that once upon a time he’d thought that his love for Maria was a forbidden love when in reality she was and would always been the greatest love of his life.
The End
I decided not to go the path of the skins in this story. My orginal thought was that the royal four did not activate the communicators which lets the skins know their location so the Royal Four are safe. However then I thought that when the four used their combined powers to kill Nasedo they could have triggered something...but in the end I wanted a simple happy ending and wanted to put the alien drama behind them. Of course I may come back and write a sequel where we get into the whole Skins thing but I don't think that will happen anytime soon. Still leaving my options open.

I like that idea for a sequel! If and when you decide to write one, know that you've got an eager reader in me.
Awesome update! So, Tess and Alex are married...but I didn't hear anything about her being pregnant as well.
Kyle and Isabel are next? Have Max and Liz even talked about it yet?
You've just got to do a sequel!!! Please? I'm on my hands and knees beggin you.
