hey everyone! I was kinda losing track of this one with nobody responding to my posts. We still have no Maria, but Liz is back. Yay!

Liz looks decidedly confused with all the suggestions. I feel sorry for the girl. Eventually she asks for a drink menu, mentioning that the pictures should help. I smile at her. "Sure, Liz. You'll probably want to steer away from anything too strong at first. I'll be happy to help you out."
Turning to Kels, I ask, "Are you old enough to drink yet? I'm sure Liz would appreciate your recommendation."
"Not yet," she admits. "My birthday is about two days after Liz is supposed to be back from this whole 'reality television' thing. So I guess she'll be able to recommend for me by then."
"I guess so," I grin at her. Tess has been going on with Kyle about beer and I haven't really had a chance to get a word in edgewise. It's probably a good thing to make those from out of the house feel welcomed, too.
Just then, Liz says something that catches my ear. She's asking Alex about handcuffs? I look across the table at her, waiting to hear what that's about. A code-word, Alex says. Something tells me this is something I need to find out about later if it's not spelled out here and now.

I hadn’t meant for the handcuff comment to be heard by anyone but Alex. I had forgotten that anyone else was around. I try to hide my grin behind my hand as Alex tries to explain what we were talking about. Even though I feel a little bad for saying it so loud I had help but find the whole a little amusing.
“Hmm, you could say its codeword.” I agree as Alex sighs in relief. “Its just this thing we were talking about the other day. Its nothing really,”

I sigh in relief when Isabel doesn't say anything about stripping. Mouthing 'thank you' to Isabel, I then turn back to Liz with my most winning smile which I almost drop when I see Max looking at me. Great, he heard too. I glance around the table quickly, but no one else seems to have noticed it.
"You look pretty happy, Parker." I tell her with a grin. "I guess you like your surprise?"

When the waiter disappears again, I say to Tess, "Good to know that I don't have to hide my beer from you then. That could have put a strain on our friendship."
"Any plans for the weekend?" I ask then after a moment of silence.
lame, I know but I'm a bit stressed right now, sorry

Ummmm, let's see, do I have any plans?... "Oh, good question, um... I dunno, maybe I'll get some reading and sunbathing done at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone, you know. I started reading this new book on the plane ride out here but haven't had time to continue it much since we got here. It's that vampire hunter series by Laurel K. Hamilton, very interesting stuff... And the weather woman said that we were going to have nothin' but good ol' sunshine the entire weekend, so that sounds like a good way to relax, don't you think?"
Alrighty then, I just wanted to let y'all know that I might not be on the computer too much for a little while, visiting friends and all, but I'll try to stop by. Feel free to use Tess however you see fit.

I can't imagine her stripping but ... there has to be something and if it's only falling over her own feet in high school when everyone was watching.

“Hmm,” I tap my finger against my chin thoughtfully for a moment, trying to think of any embarrassing tales from High school. “I can’t think of anything.”
“Nothing at all?” Alex says in disbelief.
I start to shake my head but then it hits me. “Wait. I’ve got one. When I was my second year of high school, I got caught wearing odd socks. It was so embarrassing but I had overslept and Daddy was yelling at me to hurry up so that he could drop me off at school and I was in a rush so I grabbed the first socks I could find and they didn‘t match.”

I look at Isabel, waiting for the rest of the story and then I realize, that's it! Not matching socks? Before I can help myself, I say, "That's a pretty boring story."
"Excuse me?" Isabel asks shocked.
"C'mon Iz, if in ten years, you are at school reunion, who will say 'OMG! That's Isabel Anderson, she came to school with socks that didn't match!' And even if someone says that, then it's proof that he or she has a pretty pitiful life to remember that. But at my reunion," I continue darkly, "there'll surely be some videos shown where I'm the main entertainment."
