“Alright ladies, does anyone have a suggestion about what to do for this year’s charity fund raiser?” asked Vicky Delaney, president of Delta Zeta.
“The auction worked pretty well last year” Maria reminded while half the girls in the room groaned. “Okay… so half ended up with total losers and had a horrible time, but it still made money” she quickly defended but none of the girls were anxious to put themselves through that again.
After that, all hell broke loose and one by one they all tossed out suggestions until Liz, who had previously remained quiet, waiting for the other girls to finish, spoke up with her suggestion. “What about doing a calendar? One with guys for this semester and we’ll do another one with girls next semester.”
The others quieted and considered the idea. “Do you really think that’ll work?” Isabel wondered. Of all the sorority sisters, Isabel was the one that thought everything through before she acted so if you had her stamp of approval, you knew you had a winning idea on your hand. Needless to say, Isabel hadn’t been involved in the flopped auction the year before.
“Just think about it” Liz replied. “We get twelve guys from around the campus, a couple jocks, some smart guys, maybe an art or music guy and then we dress them up in boxers. Pumpkins, Santa hats, books and shamrocks to name a few and then we take their picture, put them on a pin up and set up a stand outside our house then in the quad.”
They could all see Isabel’s wheels turning before an excited grin spread across her face.
“All in favor say aye” Vicky motioned and smiled when all the girls raised their hands and said aye. “Great, and since it’s the seniors’ responsibility to organize the fundraisers, we will find the guys and the rest of you will break up into committees and organize the selling stands, a shift schedule and advertisements.”
“I’ll take down the lists” Isabel volunteered when only seniors remained in the room.
The girls paired up to take care of finding a photographer, talking to a printer, getting the wardrobe plus props, and Vicky would handle dean approval. All that was left was to pick out the guys.
“How many do we still need?”
“Four” Isabel replied, looking to the others expectantly. “What?” she asked when they stared back.
“You, my dear, have yet to give us a name” Maria answered for them.
“Oh… well I guess I could ask my brother’s roommate, he’s an art guy” Isabel shrugged and quickly jotted his name down.
“Well I’ve partied with Kyle Valenti before” Liz added when they others then turned to her. “He’s pretty nice and will probably do it if we ask and tell him it’s for charity.”
“Two more” Vicky added.
“Well if we need another smart guy, I have a friend that woks in the computer lab” Tess offered. “We met when I spent hours there typing up my physics term paper last semester and he’s a really good guy.”
“We still need one more guy” Serena stated.
The other girls mulled over it for another few minutes before Isabel finally spoke up. “If we can’t find another guy, I think my brother might do it” she volunteered. “He’s a pre-law major and I’m sure I could talk him into posing if I tell him it’s for the children’s hospital.”
“Well if you’re twins, he can’t be bad looking” Maria commented.
“Great” Vicky replied. “We have our twelve guys, now we just have to talk them all into it.”
