Summery:On his way back from Australia, Alexander Whitman ended up in a plane crash. Thankfully he survived but now he's now stuck on an island with 47 people he doesn't know and one person that he does....
Chapter One
Alex slowly opened his eyes to a bright light and he immediately wondered where he was. He soon realised that this wasn’t his home; if it was his home he would be seeing a white ceiling instead of a bright blue sky and feeling warm golden sand underneath him. He also didn’t think Max could have healed him because of the simple fact Roswell didn’t have beaches like this. Was he back in Australia? Maybe. But one thing he knew: It wasn’t a dream.
“Hey Claire! Can you get Jack for me?” A male voice asked- one that Alex didn’t recognize.
“Sure Sawyer” A female voice replied- this one he realized felt semi-familiar.
“What happened?” Jack (Alex assumed) asked a few minutes later.
“Didn’t Claire tell you?” Sawyer replied.
“Tell me what?” Jack asked confused.
“Your unconscious guy has woken up.” Sawyer told him.
“He has?”
“See for yourself, and I don’t think he likes being talked about in a third person” Suddenly Alex had a face come into Alex’s view. One that he defiantly did not recognize.
“Hi I’m Jack and I’ll be your doctor today” Alex smiled at that while Jack continued, “You’ve been unconscious for roughly about three hours. Do you remember anything that happened at all?” Alex thought for a few moments and then he started to remember everything. He had been coming back from visiting family in Australia and there had been a bang and everything going blank
“Do you need anything to drink?” Jack asked and Alex realising that his mouth was dry croaked yes immediately and for a few moments Jack disappeared from his view but sure enough he came back with some water. Alex drank it, greedily.
“Don’t drink too much. You’ll regret it later” Jack advised.
“Where are we?” Alex soon managed to ask once he had stopped drinking the water. Jack managed a dry laugh.
“The question of the moment. Unfortunately we don’t know. The pilot said we where turning back to land in Fiji. But the time the we hit turbulence we where already 1000 miles off course” Jack explained. Alex looked shocked.
“So that basically means there searching in the wrong place?” Alex said after calculating roughly in his head. Jack nodded, amazed at his calculating skills, then he realised that he didn’t know the kid’s name.
“By the way what is you’re name?” Jack asked hoping he didn’t sound too nosey.
“Alex”
Claire looked over at who Jack was talking to. The one who had been unconscious. She couldn’t help but think she recognized him from somewhere. But couldn’t remember where, or when. She had travelled from place to place with different names for the last seven months. Roswell being the first one, Australia being the latest. She thought back to when she had decided to leave Australia, a decision that she wasn’t sure she should have taken. Dangerous or not.
~*^*~
Claire handed in her resignation at her job at a bookstore. Her boss looked rather surprised- almost as though he hadn’t been expecting it. Soon her thoughts where confirmed.
“What’s this?” He asked roughly. Claire kept her face as blank as she could. She had to. It wasn’t that he hadn’t been a good boss. He had. He had been a GREAT boss. It was just that…
“It’s my resignation” She said simply.
“Why?” The boss demanded, “You’ve been here for a good 2 months, and been excellent in your work. Is it your pay?” He asked immediately. Claire shook her head.
“The pay’s been fine. It’s just that” Claire did some quick thinking to see what a believable lie would be.
“Well?” The boss asked sensing Claire’s stall.
“It’s just that my parents want me to be in Brisbane- where they live- so they can be there for the baby’s birth and that means I’ll have to travel there now.” Claire explained hoping that he would believe her.
“I guess that makes sense.” The boss nodded, finally taking her resignation. “We’ll miss you Claire, you’ve been a great help”
“Thank you. I know it’s not a two week resignation but I really do have to go tomorrow”
“That’s fine. Do you need a reference?” The boss asked.
“If you wouldn’t mind” Claire said knowing that, she could always change her name on the letter.
“That’s fine Claire…”
~*^*~
“Claire?” Charlie’s voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Yeah Charlie?” His intense blue eyes reminded her of…
“Why is Jack by the unconscious guy? Has something gone wrong with him?” Charlie asked, stopping her from finishing her sentence.
“Oh, he’s not unconscious anymore, the guy woke up a few minutes ago” Claire explained with ease.
“Ah okay, are you okay from your baby scare a few hours ago?” Claire nodded with a small smile.
“He’s just fine.”
“He?” Claire quickly invented up a lie.
“I got the test done when I last saw the doctor. She told me it was going to be a he”
“That makes sense. I’m going to go over and see if Jack needs any help. Do you want to come?” Charlie asked, hoping that she would say yes and that he didn’t seem too eager
“Sure” Claire said simply.
“Hey Jack need any help?” Charlie asked a few seconds later; obviously wanting to meet Alex- the newest member of the survivor group.
“No thanks Charlie, but our newest survivor is Alex, Alex this is Charlie and…” Jack paused as Alex’s eyes filled with recognition and confusion.
“Tess?” Alex asked astonished. He couldn’t believe it. What was she doing here? Why was she pregnant? Claire looked just as confused for a small moment as she thought rapidly as to who he could be. She hadn’t used the name Tess. Then realised who he had to be talking about. The other set.

Claire shook her head and pretended to be bewildered. She had to talk to Alex before he could say anything she suspected that he wouldn’t give away the secret, but she knew that Alex could assume that she was someone else entirely, but she didn’t want to harm her baby and talk about the father just yet.
“No, my name’s Claire. I don’t know of any Tess’s,” Claire gave Alex a stern look. “Maybe I just look like someone that you’ve met before.”
Suddenly, something in Alex’s mind clicked. Of course, she might be Tess’s duplicate. He realized, but where were the other three? He vaguely remembered that Max’s dupe had died and something had happened between the other three, but he couldn’t remember what. He then realized that everyone was looking at him curiously.
“Yeah that’s probably it,” Alex agreed with a tiny smile. “You just look like someone I know from Roswell.”
“Roswell?” Charlie queried with a skeptic look on his face. “As in Roswell, New Mexico? The place where the aliens ‘supposedly’ landed?” When Charlie said supposedly he put finger quotes in the air.
“Yeah that’s the place.” Alex nodded, and waited for the question that normally followed.
“Have you ever met an Alien?” Sawyer asked with a grin. Claire went pale, but Alex handled with ease.
“Nope, plenty of green-eyed people around but no Aliens.” Alex joked with a smile.
“Why where you coming back from Oz then?” Charlie asked.
“Personal reasons.” Alex said, simply not wanting to get into it with a perfect stranger. Charlie didn’t seem to mind about the detail though; he shrugged his shoulders with a smile.
“Do you want to get meet the rest of our new citizens?” Charlie asked with the same grin.
“Citizens?” Alex, Claire and Jack questioned in unison.
“Well, we’re basically our own country at the moment, hey maybe we should-“
“No, Charlie” Alex answered instantly, already having an idea of what Charlie was hinting to.
“How’d you know what I was going to say?”
“You sound just like my friend, Maria, who would suggest anything and everything, so I just instinctively decided to say no. It’s not worth the trouble.”
“You know, Alex, we’re going to get along just great.” Charlie said as he patted Alex on the back.
Later on that day, Alex finally had some time to think and wonder what the group at home thought had happened to him, but mainly his parents and Isabel. Do they think he had died? Or maybe something Alien?
“What ya thinking about?” Claire asked as she came up to join him.
“Just what the rest of them are thinking now.” Alex said and warily looked around to make sure nobody was listing. “Who’s the father of your baby?” He immediately asked wondering if it was Zan and wondered if he was correct.
“Z- Za- Zan” Claire managed to stutter out. “I was one month along, before they killed him. I was going to tell him the day he was killed.” Claire told him looking at Alex sadly, “When we got to Roswell a month later I knew I wasn’t safe with them. That’s why I asked Liz to help me so I hopefully wouldn’t run into Khivar”
“Khivar?” Alex questioned worriedly.
“He-“ Claire started and then decided to change her mind. “I can’t tell you.”
“Why?” Alex asked.
“Because you need to have a break from all this and have a normal life.”
“You call this a normal life?” Alex laughed. “Even when you try to get out they manage to pull you back in.” He thought back to when he agreed to go Australia.
~*^*~
“Alex would you quit being stubborn about this?” Gloria Whitman impatiently asked her son for the fifth time.
“But it’s in the middle of the school year!” Alex complained- knowing that it was a week protest but he just didn't want to go.
“We’ll be enrolling you in a school in Sydney think about the experience you would be getting.”
“What about Liz and Maria? What do I tell them?” He was already thinking about how much he would miss his friends… and Isabel.
“They’ll be fine for a few months on there own, Alex. Your Aunt needs looking after especially after the crash and you know she won’t admit it. Please, Alex” His Mother looked at him with teary eyes and he could feel himself weakening.
“Alright I’ll go” He finally conceded.
“Thank you Alex.” She said with a small smile as she walked away.
~*^*~
“Alex?” Claire interrupted his thoughts. “I’d appreciate it if you’d call me Claire on the Island and not Ava. We wouldn’t want anyone queering why you are calling me by a different name now would we?”
Alex nodded in agreement. “That’s fine with me.”
“What where you thinking about?” Claire asked.
“What makes you think I was thinking about anything?” Alex asked.
“You just looked thoughtful. If you don’t want to mention why that’s fine by me.” Claire started to walk off with a small smile. Knowing, any second he would cave.
“No… it’s okay; I was just thinking about why I agreed to go to Australia in the first place.”
Claire laughed. “Did you find the reason?”
“Nope,” Alex smiled wistfully. “It was mainly to keep my parents happy. Although I got one added bonus.”
“What was that?”
“I got to be normal for a few months.”

Authors Note: The First little bit was taken from Cry Your Name- only it is from Alex's point of view. I don't own what was spoken in that scene. Once again I only own what you don't reconize.
~*^*~
Alex’s eyes widened as he realized where he was. He knew this time that he had to be dreaming. The scene was at the Crashdown and Isabel was a sweatshirt and sweatpants. Her normally perfect makeup was messed up as was her hair. Alex thought she may have been crying but he wasn’t sure. He could never be sure with Isabel. He tried to figure out what was happening, but at that time he didn’t really care; he was just happy to see her.
“Isabel?” He asked cautiously.
“Alex!? Oh, Alex, I thought you where dead?” Isabel cried, as she ran into his arms. Her exclamation confirmed his worst fears. Everyone in Roswell thought he was dead, that he had died in the plane crash. He shook his head, hoping that this was in fact the real Isabel and not his mind playing tricks on him and that she knew it wasn’t a dream.
“Aw, no. No, that was just a big misunderstanding.” Alex tried to calm her sobs, “Everything’s fine alright? Sit down; sit down” He repeated the last bit as they sat in a booth, “So how are you doing?” He asked cautiously.
“Fine. Fine, now” Isabel said with a smile.
“Good, have you made a decision about college?” Alex asked as he recalled his last chat with Isabel before he’d left to return home.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to stay. Graduate with Max and you guys.” Isabel replied with a grin.
“Good, good because I’ll miss you if you where gone.” Alex told her honestly, but hesitantly; he still wasn’t sure if this was a dream or not.
~*^*~
The sun beat down on Alex as he slept peacefully not once moving. Claire watched him, she had come over to check if Alex was still alive and was glad that he was. She was still standing beside him when Sawyer came up to her.
“Should we wake him?”
“Nah, let him sleep he’ll need all the sleep he can get.” Then, she noticed a single tear down his cheek and wondered what he was dreaming about and what had caused the tear.
~*^*~
“Yeah, I would miss you too,” Isabel paused, “I just don’t want to be away from you any more.” Alex’s heart soared. Maybe Isabel was a dream walking him?
“No… ah no worries about that.” Alex sighed. He changed his mind and decided it was a dream. Isabel couldn’t be dream walking him. She just wouldn’t be this perfect., “I’m not going anywhere, except band practice. See… I’m running late and the guys are waiting for me so I gotta jet. But I’m going to see you tonight right?” Alex couldn’t see her anymore. He didn’t want to cling and he didn’t want her to see him cry.
“Yeah, yeah” He was about to leave when Isabel pulled him in for a kiss, which surprised him. Perhaps this was a dream walk and he had just stuffed it up by leaving it.
“Okay… I’ll see you later” And with that the scene faded around him.
~*^*~
“Yo Alex, time to wake up!” Sawyer called, finally deciding to wake him.
“Maybe I don’t want to” Alex mumbled as he started to go back to reality, which he really didn’t want to return to. He still didn’t know if his dream was really a dream if Isabel had used her powers to reach out to him?. He couldn’t tell. Perhaps he should have told Isabel that he was on an Island to see her reaction. That would have clinched it.
Claire sat down next to him about half an hour later causing Alex to look up.
“You okay?” Claire asked interrupting his thoughts, and caused Alex to jump into a few questions.
“Have you ever wondered the others reacted to about the crash? What they’re now doing? What they now think about you?.” Alex immediately inquired.
“I don’t have anyone to worry about me.” Claire lied.
“But what about Louise and Richard?” Alex looked around, purposely changing there names. “Even the bad ones could have a reaction to the crash if they knew you where on the plane”
“Well, possibly… I don’t know I haven’t really thought about it. We’ve only really been on the island for a day. We don’t know what’s going on in the outside world. They could be looking for us.” Claire said with hope, “Why are you asking these questions anyway?”
“It’s just that I had a dream and I’m not sure if it was a…” Alex looked around to make sure if nobody was listening; thankfully no one was, “a dream walk from Isabel or just an ordinary dream. In the dream she mentioned that she thought I had died…”
Claire sighed. She never had known much about Lonnie, Zan, or Rath’s powers. She only really knew about her own.
“I honestly don’t know, Alex. I never knew much about dream walking. It could be everything, or it could be nothing. You’ll just have to wait and see”
“Has Louise ever dream walked you?”
“She has but I always knew how to block her off. I’m just not sure if you subconsciously stumbled on to Isabel’s dream or she did yours. Next time just act as though it’s her dream and see what she does.” Claire advised, “That would be your only way of getting news from Roswell and around the world. Our only way of figuring out what the rest of the world thinks happened to us.”
Alex nodded with a defeated? sigh.
“I just wish they were all here with me. I’ve never been strong on my own. It was difficult enough in Australia but here… with nothing? Almost impossible.”
“Don’t worry, Alex. I’m here to help” Claire told him giving Alex a hug. Neither of them noticed Locke standing in the distance, writing something down…
“You’re not really here are you?” Isabel inquired, and Alex sighed. He knew he couldn’t tell her the truth - that he really was there. She had to be able to move on without him.. Who knew how long they where going to be on the island? He couldn’t let her have false hope like that.
“No, you’re talking in your sleep.” He told her, trying not to sound sarcastic; this was for her own good.
“God I wish I could talk to you, Alex,” Isabel said wistfully as she looked at him. He longed to tell her the truth.
“I’m the next best thing. What do you want to say?” Alex asked, eager to know what was on her mind since he had ‘died’.
“That I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” Isabel started to cry, and Alex had to wonder what she had to be sorry about. He was the one who had to be sorry.
“Me too,” He replied honestly.
“I should never have called you.” Alex thought back to his last conversation with Isabel.
“I called you remember? Just so I could tell you I was getting on the plane and I’d see you in less than 48 hours”
“I never should have brought you into any of this.” Isabel said then; her statement confusing him.
“Any of what?”
“Me. My life.” Isabel stated simply.
“You think being with you had something to do with what happened?” Alex asked, amazed that she would say something like that.
“Yes, yes I do.” Isabel cried on his shoulder, “I don’t know how, but… God if you hadn’t been involved with me.”
“You know that’s a load of crap right? I went to Australia. I was coming back. The crash was an accident.” Alex told her firmly, “Nothing more. Nothing less.”
“That doesn’t make me feel any better.” Isabel told him.
“I better go.” Alex decided, reluctantly
“Why?” Why? Alex repeated in his head. Because I want to kiss you all over and tell you that I’m not dead, and I’m alive and want you to find me.
“I’m not making things better for you.” Alex said unwillingly, and hoping that his reluctance wasn’t evident.
“No, please don’t go.” Isabel cried out and Alex nearly decided to stay, but he knew he couldn’t.
“I’m already gone.” He lied, “This is just a dream. A dream you’ll eventually wake up from” –and I never will he mentally added.
“Will I see you again?” Isabel asked. Alex paused; his mind was screaming yes I’ll see you again. I need you.
“That depends on you.” Alex eventually told her, “but I have a feeling…” He inwardly sighed. He wanted to say he was going to see her again but he knew he couldn’t, “I wouldn’t want me to be here.” Isabel pulled him into a kiss that Alex was only willing to accept. He had to for one final time. “Bye, Isabel”
“I love you, Alex” Alex nearly danced with joy. Then he felt the sadness tied in with that.
“I think we both know I loved you too.” With that Alex slowly woke up.
~*^*~
He couldn’t believe he had just let go of her like that, and let her believe that he was dead. He hated that word. Dead wasn’t what he wanted to be and something he definitely was not. He was alive. He watched everyone else sleep with ease and wondered how they could do it. Alex sighed and slowly got up, and walked towards the edge of the beach. He stared out at the ocean waiting for the sun to come up.
“Couldn’t sleep either?” Alex jumped and then saw Locke standing beside him. “Sorry if I scared you.” Locke apologized instantly.
“You didn’t-“ Alex started and then laughed at the look Locke was giving him. “That’s okay”
“What are you thinking about?” Locke asked curiously, “I’ve been told that I’m a good listener.” Locke told him.
“Just thinking about my life in Roswell. What everyone thinks happened to us. The usual.” Alex shrugged his shoulders, “What are you doing up so early?” Alex asked curiously.
“Sometimes I just like to watch the sunrise and just be thankful that we’re all here.” Locke told him and turned back to the ocean, and watched the first couple of rays come up.
“I’m thankful that we’re all here, really I am” Alex started turning to Locke, “but sometimes I just wish I could have died in the crash”
“Why’s that?” Locke asked.
“Just so I wouldn’t have to put myself through thinking about home. Thinking about everything I have left there. Wondering what they think happened. If they planned a funeral service like they did here a few weeks ago but for me.” Alex turned to look at the suns rays.
“Sometimes you have to be grateful that you are here though. You never know we may someday return as survivors. We may be found.”
“Something I’m looking forward, too.” Alex turned to see some movement within the group.
“Thanks for the chat, Locke, you know you’re right: you are a good listener.”
“Told ya so.”
“So where did you disappear to?” Claire questioned Alex when he returned to the campsite.
“Just went to watch the sunrise,” Alex then added, “It’s a good time to think.” Claire nodded, and then looked around. She didn’t see anyone close enough to listen so she spoke.
“Did you have another dream?” Alex sighed and that gave Claire all the answers she needed, “did she give you any information as to what’s happening about us?” Alex shook his head.
“I didn’t give her time” Alex told her honestly not looking to see what Claire’s reaction might be, “They where planning my funeral though. I could see it in her eyes. I can’t let her keep believing that I’m alive, Claire. Although I am I can’t let her hold on to that fact. Who knows when we’ll be rescued? It could be today, it could be tomorrow; it could be a year from now.” Alex sighed, “if she moves on that’s fine. If she doesn’t well that’s her own business.” Alex finally looked up at Claire whose eyes were soft.
“That’s okay, Alex. You did what you had to do.” Claire left him and the thought about that for a while. What happens when they do get rescued? Would he want to leave the island? He sighed as he didn’t know what the answers where going to be just yet.
Later on that day, Jack came up to Alex with a serious look on his face and caused Alex to wonder what was going on. He had seen Jack talking to Charlie and then Sawyer but he had no idea what was going on.
“Hey Alex, what’s up?” Jack asked.
“The sky,” Alex said instantly, causing Jack to smile, “Nothing much, but I don’t think you want to talk about that, so what’s up?”
“I would say the sky but you already said that. I came to talk to you about our living quarters at the moment.”
“Go on.”
“Well, I’ve been told it looks like a storms coming this way, and a few days ago Charlie and I found a cave big enough for the whole lot of us”
“I see where this is going.”
“You do?”
“You want to know what I think about living in the cave don’t you?” Alex asked Jack and he nodded, “Well, it would be safer I guess, with the cave being more stable then no ceiling what so ever, but it would be warmer on the beach.” Alex pointed out.
“I know, but it would be safer in the cave. You agree with me on that fact don’t you?”
“Apart from the fact that there would be only one way out.” Alex pointed out wearily.
“I guess…” Jack thought about that, “but would you be willing to move in there?”
“I honestly don’t know,” Alex sighed, “It could be just as dangerous in the cave as it is on the beach. Are you really willing to take that chance?”
“We need to keep ourselves safe from the weather.”
“But we don’t know if we can trust everyone yet,” Alex pointed out, “I don’t mean that I don’t trust you,” Alex added before Jack could reply, “I just don’t know who I can trust and who I can’t. For I know you could be someone else completely.” Like someone on here could be an FBI agent. Alex suddenly realized, or another alien… or both...
“Alex, are you okay?” Jack inquired, bringing Alex out of state of shock.
“I… think I need to sit down…” Alex said sat himself down with out any help from Jack and started staring into space.
Alex was walking into the Roswell High school Gymnasium. He spotted Liz sitting on the benches and he sighed with relief. At least he would have someone to talk to this period.
“Hey Liz how are you doing?” Alex asked her as he came closer, then he noticed her blank look and wondered if she was alright., “Lizzie are you alright?” Alex inquired trying to get a response.
“Must protect the queen” Liz finally responded and Alex was confused. Queen what queen? Was she talking about Tess? Or Ava? Or someone else?
“Liz… what Queen?” He asked hoping to get more information. He needed more.
“You must protect the queen” Liz repeated turning to stare at him. Alex gasped at how zombie-like she looked. She was staring at him but that was all. It was getting creepy, just as Alex thought that the lights darkened and Michael came into view.
“Michael, help me get some sense into Liz” Alex pleaded, “She’s acting weird” then he noticed that Michael had the same look on his face as Liz did and Alex paled.
“You must protect the queen” Alex started to back away from the both of them who had now some how managed to stand together side by side.
“I thought you where the protector” Alex pointed out, noticing that his voice was shaken. Suddenly the whole Roswell group was closing in on him. Chanting the same thing, backing Alex into a corner. Suddenly he bumped into something- or someone and he whirled around.
“Locke! I have never been so glad to see you. What’s going on? What queen are they talking about? Are they even my friends?” Alex asked, inwardly knowing that they weren’t his friends- at least he didn’t think they were.
“You must protect Queen Ava and her son” Locke informed him. Alex gasped as they all closed in on him. Then it all went blank.
~*^*~
Alex gasped as he shot up. He panted, trying to calm himself down after the dream. He tried to figure out where he was and then he remembered. It was his fourth night in the cave. Then he gasped at the face staring straight at him.
“Ethan? What are you-“
“Protect the Queen that’s all you can do” and with that he was gone. Alex blinked wondering if Ethan had really said that- if it hadn’t been just a remainder of his strange dream. Why was he to protect Claire? Then he remembered words that she said when he was asking questions.
~*^*~
“Who’s the father of your baby?” Alex immediately asked wondering if it was Zan.
“Z- Za- Zan” Claire managed to stutter out, “I was already pregnant for a month before they killed him. I had been going to tell him the day they killed him.” Claire told him, “When we got to Roswell a month later I knew I wasn’t safe with them. That’s why I asked Liz to help me and I wouldn’t run into Khivar along the way.”
“Khivar?” Alex asked.
“He-“Claire started and then decided to change her mind, “I can’t tell you”
~*^~
Alex lay back down looking at the roof of the cave. There was something odd about Ethan. Something that he wasn’t sure about, sometimes he would be away for days and then come back not offering any information as to where he had been. Alex sighed as he peacefully drifted back off to sleep. Not noticing that there had been eyes watching the conversation the whole time.
“Hey Claire?” Claire looked up and she smiled when Charlie started to walk towards her.
“Hey Charlie”
“You busy?” Charlie inquired with a smile. Charlie was beginning to be the popular one in the group. The person that everyone wanted to hang around for some reason. He had been trying to talk to Claire alone for days and now he was finally getting his chance.
“Do you want to play a game of golf?” Charlie asked with a hopeful look.
“Are you saying I don’t get out much Charlie?” Claire teased with a blank look.
“No- of course not” Charlie started to say and she laughed.
“Relax Charlie I’m only joking” Claire smiled, “of course I will. Has Hurley lent us out his Golf Course?”
“Yep. He’s going to be scorer though”
“That’s cool”
Alex smiled as he watched from afar the conversation between Claire and Charlie. He knew for a fact that Charlie liked Claire and he suspected that Claire liked Charlie but he also knew that she also wasn’t completely over Zan. Which would be a barrier as far as she let it. He laughed to himself as he realized that it reminded him of the pod-squad’s love triangles.
“Hey Alex what’s so funny?” Sawyer called over to him.
“Only your hair. You may want to find a way to tame it some day” Alex informed him with a laugh.
“Please. You know my hair could rival yours any day of the week” Sawyer scoffed with an equal laugh- showing Alex that he was only joking.
“Sure, sure”
“Listen Jack and some of the other guys are going fishing. Want to come?”
“Sure why not?” Although living on an island with a bunch of people that he didn’t know Alex suddenly realized that he was living a way of normal that he didn’t know could exist.
~*^*~
“So Serena what have you found out?”
“Ava from the backup set of is seven months pregnant with Zan’s baby. It also seems that one of the humans that were on board the plane that crashed also knows about King Zan and everyone and knows the first set.”
“So this human would be able to inform us about the royal four?” She nodded.
“Find out any information you can with out giving away your status. Keep up your position as a fellow castaway.”
“Yes Nicholas…”
“What is it?”
“Well it seems that one of the other castaways may know about the royal four as well…” She trailed off not knowing what else to say.
“Well keep an eye on that human as well anything else?”
“No”
”Then return to your mission.” And with that Nicholas disappeared.
Authors Note: Well I didn't expect Raychelle to work so fast so here's Chapter Six
She looked up and down the island and sighed, there were so many humans on the island that it felt like they were suffocating her. Nicholas wanted so much information that at times it confused her. First, he wanted her just to keep quiet. Now, he wanted information about Ava, Alex, and Ethan. Serena sighed again, at least none of them knew her actual name. Although she knew Ava was using an alias, which she found funny, as she was too.
“Hey Kate?” Ava addressed and Serena jumped, trying to hide her scowl towards the queen.
“Yes, Claire?” Serena did in her best Vilandra impression- while hoping that Ava did not recognize it.
“I was just wondering if you had seen Alex anywhere?” Ava inquired, and Serena nearly scowled. Ava’s friendship with that human was rather appalling to her. She couldn’t see why Ava didn’t stay with Lonnie and Rath. Now they were the better set of the two in her opinion - not that her opinion counted most of the time.
“I think he went fishing with some of the guys,” Serena said with a fake laugh. Fishing. She couldn’t believe her life was now secluded on one island when she used to rule part of a planet. It was pathetic, and yet she was doing this all for Khivar who was once a sworn enemy - the irony.
“Thanks, Kate,” Ava said with a smile, as she walked away. Serena scoffed; she wouldn’t be smiling once her baby was born, she vowed.
“Now, I thought you’d be doing something interesting,” And once again, Serena nearly jumped at the intrusion, but this time it was Jack calling upon her. He was one of the few humans she didn’t mind talking to, possibly even the least annoying of the bunch.
“I could be,” Serena said with a small smile.
“But you’re not are you?” Serena laughed.
“Guess not.”
“So, do you want to do something interesting?” Jack teased, surprising Serena.
“What might that interesting thing be?” Serena retorted back with a sly grin.
“Well, I was going to say unspeakable things but how about some exploring of the island?” Serena thought about it for a moment. Her lack of response prompted Jack to think she may say no but, surprising him and herself, Serena decided to agree.
“Sure, why not?”

Alex sighed dejectedly while watching the guy’s fish; they weren’t getting much and they all knew it. He wished he knew what he was going to do about the aliens, but he had no idea what. He thought back to when he had last seen Isabel.
~*^*~Flashback~*^*~
“I’m going to miss you,” Alex murmured to Isabel.
“Why would you miss me, Alex?” Isabel inquired, “We are, after all, just friends” Alex rolled his eyes.
“You know that we are much more than that, Isabel” Alex informed her, “Why don’t you make one guy very happy and give into a kiss?” Isabel paled and then sighed. They fell into the kiss with ease. Alex savored the kiss with every taste of her lips, that was until he heard a cough. They both jerked apart, and looked up like dear in headlights to see both Maria and Liz smiling at them.
“Sorry to interrupt this moment, but your parents are looking for you, Alex,” Maria told him while struggling to hold back laughter. Alex glared at Maria and Liz jabbed her in the stomach.
“We’ll… be over there…” Liz pointed to another tree by the lawn and dragged Maria after her.
“I guess I have to go…” Alex whispered at Isabel’s look.
“Let me come…” Isabel spoke finally.
“Come where?” Alex said surprised.
“Let me come to Australia with you. We could escape all this, escape the alien abyss for a few months,” Isabel spoke firmly, with one tear coming down her cheek.
“You know I can’t let you do that, Izzy” Alex informed her, dejectedly?, “You belong here. I’ll be seeing you in a few months.” He gently kissed her on the lips and then started to move towards Liz and Maria.
“Alex!” Isabel yelled running up to him.
“Izzy?” Alex paused.
“Can I at least come to the airport with you?” Maria and Liz both looked surprised and Isabel couldn’t blame them. She knew she had changed her tone in one kiss, but only now Isabel was just realizing that she was losing Alex.
“I’m sorry, Izzy but there’s not enough room.” Isabel looked defeated and Liz was about to say something when Alex shook his head slightly.
Chapter Seven Authors Note: the beginning of this is from Episode Ten of Lost and Claire’s flashback is from Meet the Dupes- I don’t own either of them.

Claire bolted up right from a sound sleep. She looked down at her stomach, confused; her belly was now flat. What was going on? she asked herself. She was confused. Then she heard the crying of a baby from her dream, and started to get up to follow it.
She knew she should probably wake up either Charlie or Alex but she couldn’t. The cries were leading her somewhere, and she had no idea where. She moved towards the sound and stopped. She had to go and get Alex and Charlie but once again she couldn’t. The crying had stopped. She then spotted Locke sitting at a desk in the middle of the path, and by the desk was a lamp. In the center of the desk was a piece of cloth running horizontal off the desk. On top of the cloth was a deck of cards. Locke drew the top card and Claire shivered. It sounded like the sheen of a knife.
“What’s happening?” Claire her question held a demanding tone to it.. Locke avoided Claire’s glare and put the card beside the deck.
“You know what’s happening,” Locke informed her urgently.
“But I don’t understand… why?” Claire asked, confused.
“He was your responsibility, Ava, but when you gave up your title to Tess you gave him up too,” Claire held back a scream when she saw his eyes. In place of his pupils where two stones, one black and one white, “Everyone pays a price now,” Claire’s eyes widened when she heard the baby crying again. She ran towards the cry, not caring that Locke had called her Ava. She ran through the forest, finally coming towards a crib.
The crib had a mobile of four Oceanic planes which Claire noticed as she moved closer to the crib. She jumped when she heard what sounded like metal creaking. She watched as the mobile started to move faster and faster. Claire then looked down inside the crib where she saw a white blanket. She lifted up the blankets to try and find her baby. Finally she spotted a pool of blood in the center of another blanket. She dipped her hand in the blood, briefly wondering what it was. She slowly brought her hands up to her face to study the blood.

Claire woke up screaming. She didn’t know what was going on. She couldn’t figure it out. She had no idea where she was. She was supposed to be in the cave god damn it!
“Hey, hey,” Charlie spoke trying to calm her down. He had woken up when she had first started to scream much like Alex and the rest of the group had. However, Claire started to fight against him.
“Claire!” Alex spoke softly trying to get through to her much like Charlie was. However, she wasn’t listening.
“It’s Charlie and Alex.” She continued to scream, completely ignoring them. Jin and Sun came up running to the trio.
“Hey, hey, wait, wait a minute,” Charlie continued to calm her down, “It’s okay, it’s okay” Claire’s screams started to turn into sobs.
“Hey, it’s alright, you were dreaming,” Alex offered some help. He desperately wished that Isabel had been dream walking Claire and she was there to find out what was causing all this.
“You where sleepwalking alright?” Charlie spoke softly as Claire started to cry. Alex looked down and saw blood on Claire’s hands.
“Claire… what happened?”
Alex felt nervous about the dream, but he knew Claire was leaving something out. Something just didn’t seem right about it and he soon found out what it was when Claire came up to him later that morning and took him to a quieter place, she knew he was the only one that she could be honest with and she didn’t understand what was going on.
“I couldn’t say everything in that dream with everyone watching but dream Locke called me Ava and said: but when you gave up the title to Tess you gave him up too. What do you think that means? I don’t remember giving up my title to Tess,” Suddenly Claire remembered back in Roswell, back to the time she was still with Rath and Lonnie...
~*^*~
“Too tight. Look’s like there’s no room for me. Just as well,” Claire said looking in car. She tried to keep her face blank but inside she was glad. There was no way she was going back to New York.
“What you trippin’ about?” Rath glared at her.
“I ain’t goin’.” Claire said simply. She knew he was getting angry with her but she also knew he wouldn’t do anything with Max in the car.
“Don’t be crazy. What are you going to do, stay in the desert? Yo… just get into the car,” Claire stood defiantly outside of the car. She wasn’t going to get in the car and Rath wasn’t going to make her. He wasn’t king so he couldn’t make her, “Hey, I said get in, or I’ll…” Claire guessed that Rath had realized Max was in the car so she gave Rath a private smirk and decided to continue his threat.
“Kill me? What, you going to kill me?” She wanted to add ‘like Zan’ but she couldn’t. Rath would kill her just for saying that and she couldn’t - not with her baby.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are we doin’ here?” Max interrupted the conversation before Rath could say anything. She smiled thinking of Zan. She missed him deeply.
“What? Ha, ha. You think I was going to kill her? You wanna stay? Then you can stay. It’s not a problem. Lets uh… go to New York,” Claire left the group then and started to explore Roswell.
~*^*~
“I did give up the title to, Tess. When they went to the summit,” Claire answered her own question, “but does that mean my son belongs to Tess’s now?”
“I don’t know, Claire. I really don’t.” Alex stated, trying to ignore his dream from the other night, “but I think you may still have part of the title… I think…”
“Hey, Alex can I talk to you for a bit?” Hurley asked, coming up to Alex. He turned to look at Claire and she nodded, answering his silent question.
“Go on, I’ll be fine,” Claire reassured him. “I’m going to go and see Charlie,” Alex nodded and watched Claire go.
“You kind of sweet on her?” Hurley inquired and Alex shook his head rapidly.
“Eh, no way. Just knew a relative of hers back home, besides I think Charlie likes her.” Alex added with a smirk, “anyway I like a girl back home. So, what did you want to talk about Hurley?”
“Well, I’ve been talking to Jack and he thinks it’s a brilliant idea; so I’m going to do it and I wondered if you would like to help me?” Alex smirked; he resisted the urge to say he reminded him of a friend of his
“If you tell me the idea I might be able to say whether I would like to help you or not.”
“Oh yeah, well I was thinking, as we don’t know for sure who’s who on the island, maybe we should do a census. You know, see where everyone came from, keep an eye on the records of the plane to make sure nobody’s making it up,” Alex didn’t even have to think before agreeing to the idea. He thought it was a brilliant idea and a smart way to protect Claire.
“This is a great idea, Hurley!” Alex informed Hurley cheerfully. It would give him something to do other than wondering what was the significance with Alex’s and Claire’s dreams. He had a feeling it was alien related but he didn’t know how.
“So you’re in?”
“I’m in, but I gotta question for you though, Hurley.”
“Yeah, what is it?”
“How are you going to get the flight manifest?”
“Going to go and talk to Sawyer” Hurly stated simply.
“Good luck, man”
“I’m going to need it.”
~*^*~
“John right, John Locke?” Alex asked walking up to Locke who was rubbing an aloe on dried hide.
“You got roped into Hurley’s census?” Locke asked with out looking up.
“Something along those lines, I thought it might be a good idea. So we can find out who’s supposed to be here or not,” Locke smiled.
“So who’s checking up on you,” Alex laughed.
“Very funny, actually we made a deal, Hurley was going to check up on me and I’m checking up on him.”
“Ah, the old switch-a-roo very clever.”
“Thanks, it was my idea.”
“Well, you already know my name; I lived most of my life in Hollywood, California.” Locke informed Alex.
“Wow, you lived in Hollywood? Meet any movie stars?”
“Some not a lot. I was a movie director actually.”
“Cool. Reason for travel? I mean why where you in Australia?” Alex clarified.
“I was looking for someone,” Alex wrote this down on a notebook that Hurley gave him.
“Did you find them?”
“No, they found me”
~*^*~
“Hey, Kate, wait up.”
“Yeah, what is it? This about your census or what ever it is?”
“Yeah, okay so you’re Kate Ryan right?”
“You got it.”
“So where are you from?”
“Copper Summit, Arizona”
“Never heard of it”
“It’s a small town there’s only about fifty that actually live there.”
“I see, so why did you travel to Australia?” Hurley inquired.
“Doing the overseas adventure thing, Instead of Europe I’ve always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand.” Kate explained.
“New Zealand?”
“Tiny little country south of Australia, about the size of Japan, great for skiing and snow boarding.”
“Wait, that’s where they did the Lord of The Rings Movies right?”
“Yeah.”
~*^*~
“Alright so we’ve got Jin and Sun Kwon from Korea; they where starting a new life in America from what I can gather,” Alex informed Hurley after they had gathered all the information he could, “I think they’re flight was from Korea, to Australia, to America. Anyway we also have John Locke, who was a movie director from Hollywood, apparently he was looking for someone and found them. I’m not entirely sure what that means, however, I also have Sayid from Iraq; he was traveling home from work business. Charlie Pace had his own band with his brother and his brother’s best friend. All the information that he could give me was that he was traveling from Sydney to New York to start over. Claire Littleton was traveling home to visit her cousin.” Alex finally took a breath, “Oh and also Ethan ah… Mitchell was from Adelaide and going to England for personal reasons.”
“Alright my turn, I guess. Well, James ‘Sawyer’ Ford wouldn’t give me much information, but he was traveling to Boston for ‘family reasons’. Anyhow, Shannon and Boone Rutherford- who are step brother and sister, Boone wouldn’t give me his actual name where going on a holiday to Roswell, New Mexico, they originally lived in Australia. Jack Shepard said he was also going for family reasons and wouldn’t discuss why. Michael, Walt, and the dog were all going home. Apparently Michael had gone to Sydney to bring Walt back home.” Hurley finished up, “Oh and I nearly forgot Kate Ryan who was going home after her OE, she’s from Copper Summit, Arizona” Alex felt his blood run cold.
“What… did you say?”
“Copper Summit, Arizona why? Do you recognize the place? Then you might know Kate. She said it was a small town.”
“Too small,” Alex murmured.
“What was that?”
“Doesn’t matter, what about you Hugo Reyes?” Hurley looked up confused, “I’m supposed to be interviewing you aren’t I?” Alex joked, “Where are you from and why did you go to Australia?”
“Alright, I live in Quebec, Canada I’m a multi-millionaire. I came down to Kalgoorlie to find out some things.”
“And did you find them out?”
“Yep. Now how about you?”
“Alright I’m from Roswell, New Mexico and I went down to Brisbane to look after my sick Aunt. I was coming back which is why I’m here today.”
“Roswell, huh?” Alex nodded and waited for it.
“Meet any aliens?”
“Everyday, the towns full of them. Let’s mark everyone off this list then.”
~*^*~
Hurley ran towards the caves as fast as he could. He had to warn them. He had to warn someone. Alex had gone to tell Claire and he was informing Jack. He ran into the caves and Kate looked up.
“We’ve got a problem,” He announced as soon as he had taken a breath. Jack continued to work on Sayid’s wound, “The manifest. Jack, the census- the names of everyone who survived. All forty-six of us, Alex and I interviewed everyone. Here, at the beach. We got their names. Alex and I even interviewed ourselves god damn it! One of them… one of them is… JACK!” Hurley yelled when he noticed that Jack wasn’t listening to him. Jack turned and looked at Hurley, “One of them isn’t on the manifest… he wasn’t on the plane.”
~*^*~
“Have you seen Claire or Charlie?” Alex asked coming up to Locke; he would have said hello but he needed to warn her.
“Sorry, Alex, I haven’t, why? What’s wrong?” Alex sighed. He had guessed he would have had to of told Locke.
“One of the people we interviewed on the census wasn’t on the manifest… he wasn’t on the plane… Locke… why are you looking at me like that?”
Authors Note: Well after a long time here is Chapter Eight. I am planning on working on this fic again
Claire wondered over to Jack, Kate and Hurley and they all stopped talking suddenly. She wondered what was wrong, but she decided to ask her original question anyway.
“Hey guys have you seen Alex?” Hurley looked confused for a reason that Claire couldn’t figure out, she soon found out though.
“He went to find you about half an hour ago” Claire looked at Hurley blankly.
“Half an hour,” She repeated; “I thought he was working with you on that census thing” Hurley nodded.
“We finished that and he went to warn you about something… you mean he never found you?” Claire shook her head.
“I haven’t seen him since he asked me those questions. Charlie and I went for a walk in the forest but that was about it… what was he going to warn me about Hurley?” Hurley looked over at Kate and Jack with a questioning glance. They both nodded.
“We marked off everyone we interviewed on the manifest, Claire. Everyone who survived. However…” Hurley trailed off.
“What is it Hurley?” Claire asked trying to keep her patience down. Was Alex in danger?
“Ethan wasn’t on the plane”
~*^*~
“What do you want Locke?” Alex asked confused, “why are you doing this?”
“You’re a good guy Alex. You don’t need to be roped up in all this. However you know about the royal four and I can’t understand why.” Alex struggled against Locke, desperately trying to fight against the rope he was tying him with. Alex tried to fake innocence.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Locke, I don’t know what the royal four is… is it a night club that you’re starting up or something?”
“Don’t give me that crap Alex. I’ve seen you talking with Ava and what about your dream a couple of nights ago?” Inwardly Alex groaned. He wasn’t doing a great job of protecting Claire now was he?
“You know about the dreams?” Alex asked faking confusion.
“I planted those dreams Alex. Do the words: Protect the Queen that’s all you can do sound familiar?”
“You’re Ethan” Alex finally realized, “which means, you’re a shape-shifter… Nacedo?”
“Close but not quiet. I’m Ava’s protector. Cal Langley might sound more familiar to you. I followed her to Australia to make sure her child would be alright. The only thing I didn’t plan was the plane crash and you being here.”
“We’ll if your Claire’s protector why didn’t you… you planted her dream as well”
“Clap, clap the boy gets a prize. What would you like Alex?”
“How about setting me free?”
“Nope, sorry can’t do that, I need you” Alex realized quickly realized why.
“You want her. Why?”
“She’s my ticket off this stupid planet thanks to Nacedo” Locke stated with a smirk.
“You made a deal about Claire’s baby?”
“No Nacedo made a deal with Khivar. Which is to return home with Ava’s child and deliver the royal four to Khivar”
“So Tess has the same deal?” Alex asked, remarkably calmly.
“I’d say so. Although Ava is the only one I currently care about.”
“But you said you need the royal four, currently in your set there is only three” Alex pointed out with a smirk; he had to find out as much as he could, “do you really think Khivar would take you with only three?” That paused Locke momentarily.
~*^*~
“Where is he?” Claire asked for the hundredth time, Kate sat down next to her on the sand.
“Jack, Charlie and Hurley are all searching the forest. Locke’s missing too” Kate informed her, “are you sure he’s in trouble, Claire?” Claire searched Kate’s face and decided she was worried about Alex as well.
“I’m positive, Alex… he’s like a brother to me. I know we’ve only been on this island for a few weeks but I knew him briefly out of the island. He’s a nice guy.”
