"Valenti. You. Me. Dance floor. Now."
Before I complete understand what's going on, Tess pulled me on the dance floor. At first I think she wants to make Max jealous because he's dancing with Liz but she flashes the two a bright smile and starts moving. And damn, she knows how to move!
"I'm not really a good dancer you know." I yell at her over the music as I clumsily start dancing, feeling like a big dork.
KELS
"If you don't wanna dance, I can buy you a drink or something,"
I frown slightly when he grabs my hand and already want to yank it away but ... who am I to deny a free drink? Lets have him spend some money on me before I say goodbye, leaving him standing there like an idiot. Normally not my thing to do but ... I'm always up for new things.
"A coke would be nice." I tell him with a smile.

"I'm not really a good dancer you know."
"I'm sorry, what was that?" I yell back.
"I said, I'm not really a good dancer you know."
I toss my hand at him, dismissing his comment and then grab his hands in mine and bring them up to about eye level and start swinging them around like nobody's business. This brings him closer to me where I can actually speak at a normal level.
"Whatever, Valenti. I saw you dancing the last time we were here, and you didn't seem to have any problems then." I know I've got him cornered but I want to see what he says or if he tries to weasel his way out of dancing.
He better not. I came here to have fun and dammit, if I'm not going to have fun with Max, then I'm sure as hell gonna have fun with Kyle!

"Thanks, but I'm driving so I'll just drink coke." I tell Michael with a smile. Should I tell him that I'm staying with Liz's family at the hotel tonight? While it might be fun to lead him on, I don't want him to *really* believe that I'll be leaving with him tonight.
"But I really don't mind if you drink some alcohol, Mike." Maybe he'll stop his *cool as cucumber* act when he has some alcohol in his system.

"the music back then was a bit different to this techno stuff!" Then I grin, "Ah, so you admit that you were checking me out back then?" I ask her with a teasing smile. Not that I can blame her, I#d check me out too if I could. Looks like she isn't too concerened with Max/Liz, so I might still be able to make a move on her. After seeing how things work out with Isabel, that is.
Where is the girl anyway? Ah, still talking with Whitman, good I don't have to feel guilty about leaving her alone then.

I shrug at Kels' suggestion. It's not like I needed her permission to drink. I was gonna do it anyway. "Sounds good to me, babe," I tell her with a smile.
I signal the bartender and ask for a coke and a beer. I bet she already knows exactly which one I'm getting. "I know I should have asked before. Are you over 21?"
Her friend just turned 21; it could easily be that Kelsey is a few weeks or months younger...

After Max tells me how special this birthday is and how he likes to spend special occasions with family, we settle into a companionable silence. No longer really trying to talk, but enjoying each other’s presence on the dance floor. It’s strange, but there’s something about Max that makes me feel . . . I’m not sure what it is I feel. It’s such a blend of so many different things, usually nervous, uneasy, tense, and anxious are somewhere in the mix of things. And that is where I currently find myself. I’m dancing with Max, not quite sure what it is that I’m feeling, trying to puzzle it out, when I start to see Tess come over with Kyle in tow. I smile at the pair of them. I think Kyle looks the most unsure I’ve ever seen him look.
“Look at who’s joining us,” I say, leaning against him again to speak in his ear. I have to admit, that I quite enjoy leaning in to him to whisper in his ear. “Maybe we can get everyone else to join us too,” I ponder aloud, still next to his ear. I turn to see Tess smile warmly at us before she proceeds to goad Kyle into dancing.

“Aww but I think that officer is a cute nickname,” I state, brushing a strand of hair out of my face.
Glancing around the club, I realize that at some point Liz and Kels had disappeared. Liz to the dance floor with Max and Kels to the bar with Michael. Not too far from where Liz and Max are dancing, Tess and Kyle are dancing as well, if you can what Kyle is doing dancing that is.
I never did get Alex to tell me what he knew about Max and Liz, in fact the subject had completely slipped my mind but now I can’t help but wonder what he knows.
“That’s interesting don’t you think?” I say, nodding towards Max and Liz.

"I don't know, they aren't dancing that bad." I comment with a grin. I can feel myself blushing a little when Isabel raises a perfect eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by my witty comeback.
Looking over at Max and Liz, I must say that they seem to move perfectly together.
"What do you mean?" I ask Isabel. "They are dancing together from what I can tell."
Interesting is more, at least in my opinion, that Isabel doesn't seem to care about Kyle and Tess dancing. Maybe she is only going out with him as some sort of ... pity date or something.

“Look at who’s joining us,” Liz says, leaning in close. It feels so nice to have her next to me that I almost don't pay attention to her words. She'd been so stand-offish with me, I wasn't sure she'd want me to be holding her so close, but it doesn't seem like she objects. Could it be that Kel's hints about Liz liking me were true?
After slight pause, I do look around. I feel my stomach drop into my feet when I realize that it's Tess walking over with Kyle. I'd forgotten entirely that I was going to have Kyle help with blocking Michael approach to Liz.
“Maybe we can get everyone else to join us too,” Liz suggests.
"You mean Florence Nightingale and our injured hero?" I say, referring to Isabel and Alex. Getting them on the dance floor would be great, assuming Alex can dance. That could really cement the whole plan to get those two together.
Looking back, I see Tess is now dancing with Kyle. Is she doing it to make me feel guilty? If so, it's working. A dance with the birthday girl is perfectly legitamite, but that's not what I told Tess I was coming out here for. Does she think I'm trying to ditch her? I sure hope not. I don't want to make her mad at me.
Should I stop? Interupt Kyle and dance with Tess? She's smiling at us. Maybe that means I can finish the dance? Maybe that smile is hiding daggers...
*Michael*
Okay, so Kels is of age. That's good to know. "It's okay. They stay out of the bathrooms and bedrooms, so that's cool. I've pretty much gotten used to them. They got cameras in the cars now, so we don't have to worry about saving the crew a seat whenever we go anywhere."
I've already put back about half of my beer. Kels has made less progress on her soda, but hey, it's only a soda.
"So how about that dance?" I suggest. "I saw you out there with Liz. You're pretty good."
I was about to say she was hot, but I'm beginning to get the idea she wouldn't like that. What does Liz say? Pay attention to what the girl is saying... hmm. "Or maybe you can tell me something about yourself. What do you do?"
