“Hey Tess you alright? Where’s Liz?” I ask though from th looks of it I can guess things didn’t go so well. “Do you need coffee?” I shrug. “Seems to be the cure for every thing today.”

"Uh. Oh. Uh Beyonka I gotta go. The coffee maker is doing a really bad impression of Old Faithful! I'll call you back!" Maria says. "Ahhh!" she then screams when coffee squirts across her top.

“Oh!” I jump back as it spits coffee at me I then jump forward and pull out the plug. “HA! In your face! Look ma no magic.”

“HA! In your face! Look ma no magic.” he says proceeding to mock me.

"Well forgive me if I don't break out into a happy dance." I mutter eying my ruined shirt.

"Is it salvagable?" I question. Looking at the coffee maker. Not wanting to give Kyle any amo for the fire.

I look up at Kyle with tears shining in my eyes. "No I'm not okay. No thanks for the coffee." I tell him, fighting to hold the tears back

“Uh doesn’t soda take that out? Or was that wine on carpet?” I say. “Why don’t you magically clean it? Or is like personal gain a no no?”

“Oh god, Tess what happened?” I say laying down my book and turning to face her. She looks about ready to cry. I reach out and give her a hug. “It was Liz wasn’t it? Did something happen?”

I can't help it. The tears won't stay back any longer and I start to cry resting my face against Kyle's chest. "Liz is blaming herself for everything that happened and as much as I want to....I can't fix it." I sob

"I could..." It is quite tempting. I stuggle with my own indecsion for a moment before I answer.

"But that would be wrong. We are only supposed to use our gifts to save innocents. I don't think The Powers That Be would consider this top."

I point to my crimson red low cut halter.

"To be innocent."

I feel an aching pain rise in my chest. "Ouch."

Huh? It's not mine. It's Tess. She is hurting rather badly.

I reach out with my mind. "Tess? Do you need me?"

I let out a small laugh....yeah she is fine. I walk back towards Andrew.

I hear Maria's voice in my head and realize she felt my pain. I sniffle trying to answer her. "M-M-Maria...." Was all I managed to get out through my sobs.

"hey sorry about the wait but I had to see if Maria was ok."

I smile at her. I'm glad that she has found a family. I've only seen them briefly but they seem to be really wonderful people.

"That's alright. I got us a room while you were on the phone. I hope you don't mind. I would have gotten two but I didn't have alot of money left after the bus ticket." I stammer a little embarassed. My cheeks must be blood red.
