I stand there, shocked. Isabel Evans???
It must be a good few minutes before I squeal. "Oohhhh Liz!!!" I say with a little jump. "Okay, what can I do?" I ask as I follow her.

“I guess the first thing you can do is run next door and grab us some lunch from that Chinese take out place because we aren’t going to have time to go out or really stop for lunch. If you will do that, I’ll start straightening up downstairs,” I say, walking to the top of the stairs and starting to descend them.
“I just can’t believe this, Maria. This is our big break! If we get this wedding, this will put us on the celebrity map for sure. I’m just so excited!” I do a little jump to try to use some of the extra energy that I have due to nerves and happiness.

Grabbing my coat I walk out and round to the chinese place.
"The usual please Frank" I say with a smile. He nodds and quickly goes about sorting out our order.
I can't believe this...Isabel Evans...
"There you are Ria" he says. I hand over the money "Chow!"
I walk back round into the shop and see it incredibly neat but Liz still cleaning up imaginary mess.
"Sweetie, its clean" I tell her. "Come on now, lets eat!"

“No, no, no don’t use that software for that. I know it’s the latest and greatest and all, but the problem is that you are dealing with an older computer…it’s not going to have the hard drive space or the RAM to store and run such a large program,” I say into my cell phone. I’m in my car driving back to my office from one of my stores. I’m only half listening to the voice on the other end of the line while trying to concentrate on my driving. “Yeah, yeah, that sounds like a better idea…as long as you show them how to do it and stress to them the importance of checking for updates on the net every week at the very least. Ok?”
After hanging up, I rub a hand over my face. Some people who were smart with computers didn’t always pay attention to the people who owned and worked with them. I think about the way the company has grown in the few years that I’ve worked with it and can’t help but be proud of my dad for coming up with the idea. We own a chain of stores that build, work on, restore, etc, etc computers. My father had wanted to call the company, “The Geek Squad,” but I thought it sounded a little too true to what we are. Damn Best Buy took the name later. I’m proud to say, however, that we have them beat by a landslide. We are fair, we make house calls, we try not to talk over the heads of our customers and we always guarantee our work.
My thoughts turn in a new direction when I think of my fiancée. I know I grin like an idiot every time I think about her but I don’t care. I’ve known Isabel Evans since middle school and my dreams finally came true when she agreed to marry me last week. It wasn’t an easy road and god knew it was a long one but winning over her heart is my proudest accomplishment. I can’t wait to say our vows, find us a cute house, and start a family.
When my cell phone rings and the display shows that it’s her calling, my grin grows even bigger. Flipping it open, I put it up to my ear and say, “Hello, my beautiful wife-to-be. How is your day going?”

“But I still have to check the fitting room area to make sure there aren’t any pins on the floor. I wouldn’t want her to step on one!” I say. Then I stop and look at the pointed look Maria is giving me, take a deep breath, smile and say, “She’s not going to be going into the dressing area today. Ok, ok. Let’s eat, but then I want to put those boxes of sample china patterns and flatware in the store room. We should also probably sweep and vacuum the area rugs. Then I think we’ll be ready.”
I sit down with my best friend and my mouth waters at the smell of the food in the bags. “What did you get me?”

"Hey," I answer, smiling as I pull out of the parking lot and onto the street. "My day's going pretty good. I have an appointment with Wedding Cordinator Liz Parker this afternoon and now Tess and I are heading out for lunch and we we're just wondering if you wanted to come along with us?"

Wedding coordinator? I only proposed last week! I start to get a sinking feeling in my stomach but decide not to panic. Maybe Isabel just wants to be like me and leave all the details of the wedding to somebody else. I grin when I hear Tess call out a “hi”. Those two are something else.
“Lunch sounds good but I don’t really have time to make it a long one. I have to be at the next client’s at 1:45. Where can I meet you two?” I ask, glancing at the clock on my dash. I’ve got time to eat a nice leisurely lunch with them if it’s not too far away. If not, I’ll have to wolf something down quick followed by a couple of Tums.
