Hey Everyone, this is just a short one part Christmas story that I wrote today. I hope you all give it a read, after all it is only short. Merry Christmas.

Summary:
It's Christmas Eve. Max and Liz have a child together, named Keith. What will become of Keith's parents, the night before christmas and will it bring them together? (Of cousre it will!)


THE GIFT OF LOVE

“Keith, don’t you go opening the door” Liz yells as she runs through the apartment after her 3 year old son.

“But mummy, it might be Santa” Keith says with a pout.

“Well I’m sure Santa wouldn’t want you opening the door to a stranger anyway” Liz says as she opens the door.

“Hey Lizzie” Liz looks up at the love of her life smiling as he looks down at their son saying, “Hey little man”.

“Daddy! Daddy! I knew you were gonna come over” Keith says excitedly as he jumps into his fathers arms.

“Max I thought you weren’t coming over till tomorrow” Liz says as she self consciously brushes her hands through her smooth, brown hair.

“Well I thought I’d come by early, I’m just gonna take Keith to see all the houses” Max explains.

Liz knew Max had been planing to take Keith to see all the Christmas lights and decorations in the streets but she didn’t realise it was going to be at 9.30 at night on Christmas Eve.

“Mummy can I go?” Keith asks as she shoots his mother with pleading eyes.

“I dunno, I mean it’s nearly your bedtime” Liz says as she looks up at Max who to has pleading eyes.

“Common Lizzie” Max says as he sends her a small smile.

“Alright, But I want him home soon” Liz states firmly, to which Max just nods as he picks up Keith.

He then does something that shocks Liz. Leaning down he lays a sweet kiss upon her lips, whispering, “Thankyou, I’ll have him home by midnight”.

Pulling back he runs with Keith in his arms to the elevator while Liz looks after him warningly.

“No Max, 10.30”

“Midnight, I love you” Max replies as they both blow her a kiss and step into the elevator pressing the down button.

“Max wait” Liz calls when she hears the ring of the elevator meaning that the doors were closing.

Sighing brokenly she whispers back, “I love you too” before walking back inside and shutting the apartment door, ready to spend another night alone.

“Max wait” Max hears Liz call and places a hand on the elevator door, pausing it from closing.

“I love you too” he hears her add before the sound of a door shutting is heard.

His hand falls from the door and the elevator shuts, taking them down to the ground level.

When Max steps out his face is beaming with a bright smile.

She loves him too!

Liz looks at her wrist watch for the hundredth time that hour. Where were they, it was 11.30 and it was an hour past Keith’s bedtime.

Max knew that. Why wouldn’t he bring him home on time then?

Half an hour later, after numerous calls to Max’s mobile the door bell rang and a frantic Liz answered the door.

“Max I told you not to bring him home late, its midnight!” Liz shouts at Max as Keith runs up the stairs to his bedroom tiredly.

As soon as his head hits the mattress he is sleeping, soundly.

“How could you Max, I worried, I called you and you didn’t even bother to answer your…” Liz continues to shout at Max.

Max just leans down sealing his lips to hers caressingly, stopping her from her yelling and instead making her moan.

Max’s tongue trails around her bottom lip asking for permission which Liz grants welcomingly.

Her arms find their way around his neck as his find their way to her waist, encircling her tightly.

He presses her up against the door, closing it with a silent slam.

Liz moans as his hands move lower on her waist till they are caressing the bare skin underneath her red, silk night gown.

Max moves so that he picks Liz up, with her wrapping her tanned legs around his waist.

He pulls back slightly, his eyes flutter open as he stares at his best friend and the love of his life.

Did she know just how beautiful she was?

Did she have any idea, of the affect that she had on him?

“I love you” He says as he stares into her eyes, Liz hesitates as she wonders back to when he was inside the lift.

“I know you love me too Liz Parker and I am not going to make us wait any longer to get what we have both been dying for our whole life” he adds with a sweet smile.

By this time Liz has tears stinging her eyes as she listens to his words.

“And what’s that?” she asks.

“Our happy ending” he answers grinning widely as he pulls a small, black, velvet box out from his side pocket and opens it revealing the sparkling, diamond ring inside.

“Ohhh Max, I love you, yes!”
