Title: Welcome To My Life
Summary: AU/Crossover (No Aliens) Liz Parker is just a normal teenage girl trying to get by in the small yet drama-filled town of Tree Hill. She has great friends and an awesome mom. But will her life still be normal when she discovers a not so new love and new friendship? And what is her mom hiding from her?
Rating: Teen
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. Unfortunately.
AN: This takes place during the first season of OTH. I kind of missed the first few episodes and it's been awhile since I've seen the rest so if I make a mistake, please let me know. This is just a little introduction of the characters. Please review so I can see what I'm doing wrong.

Character Overview

Elizabeth Claudia Parker
Image
Liz Parker was adopted in Roswell when she was 1 year old. Shortly after that, her adopted father, Jeff, left Liz and her mother, Nancy, for another woman. That was when they moved to Nancy’s home town of Tree Hill. They lived with Nancy’s best friend from high school, Karen Roe, and her son Lucas, before getting a place of their own. When Liz was three, Nancy and Karen went into buisness with eachother and opened a cafe. Liz and Lucas have been best friends ever since. The twosome became a threesome in the first grade when they met Haley James. From then on they were the three musketeers in their own little world. Liz and Lucas were especially close though. She was there for him when the truth came out about his dad and vice versa. Things changed when she joined the cheerleading squad after being pressured by her mom, when she became friends with Peyton Sawyer who is part of the popular crowd. They bonded over music. However, she never neglected her real friends. Things are about to get even crazier now that Lucas is on the basketball team.

Lucas Eugene Scott
Image
Lucas is the son of Karen Roe. His father is Dan Scott, who left Karen after getting her pregnant when they were eighteen to go to college. Not long after that he got Deb pregnant and decided to stay with her. Abandoning Karen and Lucas. Lucas’ best friend is Liz Parker who he has known almost his entire life. His other best friend is Haley James. They helped him get through the rough time when he found out about Dan. He helped Liz when she found out about what her dad did. He is pretty much a loner, besides his two best friends. Things hit a bump in the road when Liz joined the cheerleading squad and the world that was led by his brother who hates him. He was mad at first but then saw how Liz didn’t change at all, so things went back to normal. That is, until he joined the basketball team.

Haley James
Image
Haley James is an extremely smart and independent girl. She has been best friends with Liz Parker and Lucas Scott since the first grade. She is very outspoken, especially when it comes to Nathan Scott, who she despises. She has very loving, but eccentric, parents that love her.( Everything is the same as in the show except Liz )

Michael Evans
Image
Michael was in the foster care system until he was 7 years old when he was adopted by Philip and Diane Evans. Philip and Diane already had twins his age, Max and Isabel. They had seen Michael walking in the rain with a black eye and fell in love with him shortly after saving him from his abusive foster father, Hank Guerin. So they adopted him. Michael is an artist and is a sort of rebel, but a good guy. His two best friends are his brother and sister, Max and Isabel.

Max Evans
Image
Max is on the varsity basketball team and is one of the most popular guys in school. His best friend is Michael, his adoptive brother. He is kind of self-centered, but can have a sweet side. His girlfriend is Tess Harding, the prettiest girl (besides Isabel) in school. However, the relationship is purely physical and he wants someone with more depth.

Isabel Evans
Image
Isabel Evans is a gorgeous Ice Queen. Most people think she is stuck up, but she is somewhat insecure about herself. She is extremely popular and practically owns the school. Her brothers are very protective of her and are the only ones who truly know her.

NOTE
Everyone else is pretty much the same except for a few slight changes. If I decide to change anything else, I’ll let you guys know.

NOTE #2
The other characters in Roswell won’t really be mentioned a lot. I might write them in later if the story needs it.

AN: I hope you guys like the first part of this story. To those of you who reviewed the intro, thank soooo much. I appreciate it. Please keep 'em coming!

pandas2001: Max and Tess won't be a major factor in the story AT ALL. I am so NOT a supporter of that ship. It's more of a small detail to add in more Roswell characters.

orphyfets: Thanks for the encouragement! It means alot since I'm a first time writer.

Chapter 1

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"Uhhh...too early," Liz mumbled into her pillow. It was 6:00 a.m. and Lucas, her best friend since they were kids, would be at her door in an hour and forty-five minutes. So, after a few punches of the snooze button, she decided to haul herself out of bed and get ready for yet another day at Tree Hill High.

When she was finally awake enough to function, she started to get ready at her usual slow morning pace.

6:00 am is way to early to get up.

It's not that she was lazy, she had been at the Rivercourt all night, keeping Lucas company while he practiced. He didn't want to embarass himself infont of the whole school again. She knew it had something to do with his half brother Nathan, but he assured her that he didn't give a damn what Nathan thought of him.

Right when she picked out her outfit she heard a car door slam.

And just like she expected, she heard the doorbell ring at exactly 7:45. Why he still used the doorbell was beyond her. It's not like he hasn't just walked in before. Her mom was there though and even though she was the coolest mom on the planet, she could be a little intimidating.

"Lizzie! Lucas is here!"

"Be right there!" replied Liz. She was running late again and Lucas was going to be pissed. It was the third time this week. Ever since he joined the basketball team he's been on edge. She couldn't blame him though. Now he couldn't just ignore the fact that his own father abandoned him and his mother before he was even born. On top of that, his half brother was a royal asshole. Atleast when she joined the dark side as a varsity cheerleader, she wasn't related to any of them.

Before Luke got too mad, she quickly grabbed her stuff and headed for the kitchen. He was sitting at the table tapping his fingers and foot which was the first sign that he was in a bad mood, again. She sort of felt like slapping him out of his little mood and asking where her best friend went.

"I'm ready, let's go."

"It's about time!"

That was it! It was time to bring her friend back. Liz waited until they were outside to yell at him.

"Okay, I know you're stressed about the team and everything, but you need to SNAP OUT OF IT!!" yelled a frustrated Liz. She was scared that he was going to let a game ruin him like it did his father. She'd be damned if she let that happen to her best friend.

"Why are you yelling at me?! Because it sure as hell isn't making my 'stress' go away!" The last thing he needed was a fight with his best friend.

"I'm yelling because I want my best friend back. Remember when I joined the cheer squad? You thought I was going to turn into one of those mindless Brooke Davis Minions, but I didn't. Now look who's changing!" She through in some extra arm movements to make her point. Apparently it worked.

"You're right."

"And anoth-- what?"

"You're right. The stress is starting to get to me. Things are changing really fast and I'm not sure if I made the right decision joining this team."

"Lucas, do you like playing basketball?"

"You know I do Liz."

"Then it was the right decision. You need to stop worrying about everything and just play this game that I know you love. So, the next time you step onto that court, forget about Dan, and forget about Nathan. I know it's hard considering his oversized head, but atleast try." Liz said smiling her 'I-Know-I'm-Right-Best-Friend' smile.

"Thanks Liz. You always know exactly what to say to bring me back to earth."

"Well if I didn't, who knows where you would have floated off by now."

She hugged him in one of those cliched best friend ways and smiled at him again. At least that was over. Liz didn't think she could go another day with an extra broody Lucas hanging around. She was glad to have her friend back to normal.

"Well we better get going or Hales is going to burst a vein," laughed Lucas after the moment passed.

"Yeah we should."

Lucas made his way to the pick-up in the driveway to open the door for Liz. Such a gentleman she thought as he walked to the driver's side and got in.

On the way to Haley's house, it was a pretty silent except the radio playing. It was a comfortable silence though. It's weird how she only seemed to be comfortable in silence when she was with Lucas. Maybe it's because she's known him for so long, that it seemed like they didn't need words sometimes. Like they could just sit in silence and still understand eachother completely. No words at all. These were the kinds of thoughts that would get her in trouble. These thoughts led to other thoughts, and those were never meant to be had for her best friend.

Liz was jerked out of her reverie when Lucas pulled to a stop in front of Haley's house. Haley was out front looking very unhappy. They both prepared for Hurricane Haley.

"Where the hell have you been?! I have been waiting out here for fifteen minutes and if I miss my first class because of you two, I am going to kick both your asses!!" yelled Haley as she got in the truck.

Liz would have laughed if she didn't believe that her other best friend was capable of doing just what she said.

When they finally got to the school they stood there for a minute mentally preparing themselves for what they knew would be a hard day. Well, everyday's hard when you go to Tree Hill High and Nathan Scott hates you. But it sure is alot easier when you have amazing friends.

Chapter 2

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: Thanks to the people who reviewed! You're awesome!

Chapter 2

When is the stupid bell going to ring?

This was the only thought going though Liz's head as she listened to her Chemistry teacher go on about elements or whatever the hell she was talking about. Usually Liz loved science but today had been an especially long day and she couldn't wait for it to end. There had been an incident at lunch that drained what little energy she had woken up with that morning.

Earlier, at lunch...

Liz walked out of her fourth period class and immediately looked for Haley and Lucas. She found Haley first, sitting on a bench going over some papers. She was a little relieved Lucas wasn't with her since it had been a while since they had a proper girl talk.

"Hey Hales," greeted Liz as she sat next to the girl who was, apparently, completely emersed in what she was doing. So emersed that she didn't even notice Liz come up.

"Haley!" Liz said, slightly raising her voice to get her friends attention.

"Oh, hey Liz. I didn't even hear you."

"Yeah, I know. Now, what is so important that it distracted you from a best friend in need of some much needed girl talk?"

"Just some tutoring stuff. You know I love tutoring, but some of these jocks drive me nuts. They have no respect whatsoever. They either treat me like crap, or hit on me."

"Well look on the bright side, atleast you don't half to tutor Nathan Scott." Liz pointed out, trying to bring up Haley's spirits.

"You have a point there. So, what did you need to talk about?"

"It's getting worse," sighed Liz.

"Sorry, not following. What's getting worse?" asked a confused Haley.

"This phase that I'm going through where I think about Lucas in a very un-best-friend-like way. I mean, when I was in English this morning, I just kept staring at him and thinking about the way he smells. The way he smells?! What am I some sort stalker? Not to mention, he's my best friend since I was like three! But he smells so good, Hales. Have you ever noticed? It's like manly and at the same ti--"

"Okay stop!" interrupted Haley. She did not want to hear all the details about her best friends infatuation with her other best friend. She was, however, happy for Liz. It was about time one of them started to realize they were in love with each other.

"Have you ever thought that maybe this isn't a phase. That maybe you actually have feelings for Luke?" asked Haley.

"But it's Luke! I've known him forever. Besides if I did have feelings for him that would so not be a good thing."

"What's not a good thing?"

"Luke! Hey!" said a surprised and slightly horrified Liz. She also glared at Haley who, by her shaking shoulders and scrunched up face, thought her situation was funny.

"Hey, um...so what's not good?" asked Lucas while looking at Haley like she came from a different planet.

"Oh, uhh...just that Haley has to tutor all the brainless jocks. Well, uh, yeah. I'm gonna go," stuttered Liz as she turned about five shades of red before hurrying across the quad.

"Okay. Do you know what's going on with Liz? She's been acting weird ever since English," asked a confused Lucas.

"I have absolutely no idea," lied Haley. "But I have a question. What do you think about Liz? Besides her being your best friend."

"Come on Hales, you know what I think about Liz. She's the most amazing person I've ever met, not to mention beautiful. Are you trying to torture me here?"

"Why would this be torture?"

"Because she's my best friend and I should not be thinking those things about her."

Where have I heard that before? thought Haley.

"Have you ever thought about telling her how you feel?"

"Are you crazy? She'd laugh in my face! This is Liz we're talking about. Why do you ask? Did she say somthing?"

"Look, Luke..." started Haley. She never got to finish because, right at that moment they heard a very angry Liz from across the quad. And they also saw what, or who was making her so angry. Before Haley could get another word in, Lucas was already heading towards them.

Meanwhile...

I can't believe that just happened. Imagine if he would have heard me! Oh God. What if he did hear me?

She didn't get to finish that thought because at the moment she ran into something tall, dark and obnoxious. Nathan Scott.

"Hey Parker. How's it goin'?" sneered Nathan. "Changed your mind about me already. I knew it was just a matter of time before you ditched the loser and came crawling to me."

"Shut up Nathan. I'll change my mind about you when you learn how not to be a complete asshole manwhore. Besides, the only loser I see here is you. Oh, look! There's Peyton!" she said as she pointed behind him. This distracted him for a second until he realized that she had tricked him.

Liz quickly started to walk away, but not fast enough, because she felt a strong hand enclose around her arm a second later.

"Let go of me, you bastard!"

"I'm not the bastard," said an extremely agitated Nathan.

"I believe she said to let her go," said an equaly calm Lucas from behind Nathan. Haley not far behind.

"Well speak of the devil," said Nathan, still keeping a strong hold on Liz's arm.

"I mean it, let her go," replied a still calm Lucas.

"Or what?" asked Nathan, loosening his grip on Liz. Loose enough for her to slip away and run behind Lucas.

"Let's go Luke," pleaded Liz. The last thing Lucas needed was to get in a fight with Nathan. Especially since a crowd was starting to form. And unfortunately, Nathan's cronies were in the front row. However, she could see Jake making his way through the crowd. Hopefully he would be helpful.

"Yeah Luke. Let's go. Let's see if you have the balls to face the better Scott."

By now, Haley had a death grip on Liz's shirt. But Liz wasn't thinking about that. She was to busy holding her breath in anticipation of what was to come. She gave a huge sigh of relief when Lucas turned to walk away.

"Guess not," taunted Nathan. "No wonder my dad left you and your mom."

And right then, she knew it was all over. She looked at Lucas, and couldn't remember a time when he looked as mad as he did in that moment. Which made his next move, not much of a surprise.

The next thing she saw was Lucas jumping on Nathan and throwing punches. There was no use stopping him. Before she knew it, the whole lunch crowd was watching the Scott brothers fight it out. For a brief instant during all of the hysteria, she saw Jake trying to pull Nathan away and Skillz (where did he come from?) trying to get Luke under control. They almost had them until everyone was silenced by a blow of a whistle.

The crowd parted as Coach Durham made his way towards the two brothers. Relief changed to dread as Liz realized that Luke was in a lot of trouble.

Damn Nathan Scott.

Next Chapter: Cheerleading practice!! I might add in some stuff on the Roswell characters. Hopefully I can make the next one longer too. DON'T FORGET TO REVIEW!!

Chapter 3

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: So here's Chapter 3. I tried to make this one longer. Don't forget to REVIEW!!
Thanks to everyone who reviewed! It means a lot!!

Chapter 3

Lunch was a complete disaster. Not only did Lucas almost hear her confession to Haley, but now she had to worry if he got into trouble because of her. She hadn't seen him since lunch and that was not a good sign. She knew he wasn't sent to the principal's office, she already checked. So that meant that Coach Durham had decided on his own punishment that he reserved especially for his players. That was much worse.

RIIIIINNNNGGGG

Oh, thank God!

The bell finally rang and Liz was the first one out the door. The first thing she thought about doing was to go find Lucas, but she then figured that Whitey still had him for basketball practice. Another punishment. Well, for Lucas atleast. She was just about to go see Haley at the tutor center when it hit her...

Oh shit! Cheerleding practice!

If she was late again, Brooke would have her head on a silver platter. She wasn't afraid of Brooke, she even liked her at times, but when it came to cheerleading, Brooke was a dictator. And she wasn't even captain yet. She shuddered at the thought.

Liz made it to the locker room just as the other girls were leaving to head for the gym. Brooke was the first thing to say something.

"Liz, this is the second time this week. What in the world could possibly be more important than cheerleading practice?"

Everything. "Um... nothing. I just had a wardrobe malfuntion," Liz lied, hoping that Brooke would by it. She noticed Peyton roll her eyes and smirk at her from behind Brooke.

"Whatever, but don't let it happen again. Oh, and since you made us wait, you'll be running laps," said Brooke. Liz could faintly hear Bevin's giggles as Brooke led the pack out of the locker room. Everyone except for Peyton, who stayed behind. Liz just turned to her locker, dreading the laps that were in her near future.

"Second time this week," sighed Peyton as she leaned against the locker besides Liz's. "You'd think that after the last time you had laps, you'd be more punctual."

"Yeah, well, I didn't know that Brooke was playing captain today. Where is Leanna anyways?" asked Liz as she began to change.

"Something came up with work so she had to go. So she left Brooke in charge."

"Big surprise. I really didn't need this right now," replied a fed up Liz.

"Yeah, I heard about what happened at lunch. I'm sorry about Nathan. He can be a jerk sometimes."

"Then why are you with him? You deserve so much better than the way he treats you," said Liz. She always wondered what Peyton could possibly see in a guy like Nathan. Peyton was the kind of girl that was strong and not afraid to voice her opinion. She was way to goog for him.

"It' complicated. I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, you know. It's hard to let someone go after you've known them for so long. He can still change." Peyton didn't know if she was trying to convince Liz, or herself of that.

This was a rare occasion. Peyton hardly ever showed emotion. Especially about Nathan. Everytime Liz confronted her on her relationship with him, she would just brush it off as nothing. This was the first time she ever spoke in depth about it.

"If that's what you truly believe... then okay. Just be careful," said Liz as she finished putting up her hair.

"I will. So, what started the fight anyways?"

"Oh, uh, that's not important. I'd rather just forget about it. We'd better get going before Brooke has our heads."

-------------------

When Liz finally did make it home, she was exhausted. She had never worked out so hard in her life. However, their routine was awesome, she had to admit. She saw Lucas, but they didn't get to talk because Whitey had him and Nathan running sprints the whole time. He did say that he would try to come over later.

"Mom! I'm home!" yelled Liz as she walked through the door.

"Hey Lizzie, how was school?" asked Nancy as she came to greet Liz.

"Um, fine. I'm gonna take a shower and do some homework, okay?"

"That's fine sweetie. I'm going to the cafe to talk to Karen. I'll be back later," said Nancy as she was getting ready to walk out the door.

"Bye mom."

After Liz got out of the shower and into some comfy sweats, she decided to put off homework for awhile and relax. After the day she had, she figure she deserved it. So she climbed out of the window onto her balcony. After lighting some candles and settling onto her lawn chair, she began to write out her thoughts in her journal. This was her favorite time. When she could just relax, mull over her thoughts and express her feelings. Here, she could figure things out. Liz was a strong believer in rationality. Everything had to make sense. And since everything was becoming more and more confusing, she was very thankful for this time.

Liz was just starting to relax when she heard someone climbing up the ladder leading to the balcony. She only knew of two people who came up here besides her, and judging from the weight of the person, it wasn't Haley. Not a moment later, did she see Lucas climb over the edge. Bruised and all.

"Hey," he greeted stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"Hey. Are you okay?" asked Liz as she put her journal aside and rose from her chair.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine. How are you?"

"I'm not the one who has a massive bruise on my face," laughed Liz, trying to ease the unfamiliar awkwardness.

I love her laugh., thought Lucas.

"It's not that bad. Not to mention Nathan hits like a girl. Believe me, he looks a lot worse."

Liz laughed at that, "Good. But Luke, you shouldn't have fought him. I know what he said was pretty low, but you gave him a reaction and that's exactly what he wanted. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you beat his ass, but you could have gotten hurt." She would never forgive herself if something happened to him because of her.

"I know. It would have been fine if he hadn't brought my mom into it. That just pushed me over the edge. He was also messing with you and I can't just ignore that," explained Lucas. He had made it his job to protect Liz.

"Well, I appreciate you caring and all but I don't want to see you hurt because of me. Promise me you'll be careful."

"I promise. Let's talk about something else," said Lucas. He'd rather not spend all his time with Liz talking about his asshole of a brother.

"Like what?" asked Liz as she walked towards her telescope.

"Like why you were acting so weird today in English. And then at lunch when I came up to you and Haley. Is there something I should know?"

There's something... that you should never know.

"Um, I just wasn't feeling well today. Nothing to worry about," lied Liz. What's wrong with me? I never lie to Lucas.

Lucas took his hands out of his pockets and began to walk toward her, "Liz, there's som--" Lucas started but was interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone.

"Hold on a sec," said Lucas as he turned to answer his phone.

Meanwhile, Liz let out the breath that she hadn't realized she was holding. It sounded like he was go--

"Sorry, that was my mom. She needs help at the cafe," he said as he closed his phone. "I'll talk to you later?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah, sure."

"Bye Liz," said Lucas as he gave her a lingering hug.

"Bye," Liz breathed. He didn't hear her because by the time she had composed herself enough to form a coherant thought, he was already halfway down the ladder.

I'm in big trouble. Yup.

Next Chapter: We find out what Lucas was going to ask Liz. But wait, who has their eye on Lucas? And what exactly is Nathan planning?
Should I add in our Roswellians?

Chapter 4

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: So here's Chapter 4! I hope you guys like it, and thanks so much for all of the reviews. Suprisingly, you guys didn't want to see the roswellians but I decided to add them anyways. But they won't show uo until later and they won't be aliens. Well, enjoy.

Chapter 4

Liz never got to hear what Lucas meant to ask her on the balcony that night. In fact, she hadn't heard much from Lucas at all lately. Things had been insane that week, for both of them. Liz had three tests, plus Brooke was on her ass about cheerleading practice and since half the staff at the cafe had the flu, she had to work overtime. She would have seen Lucas there if he didn't have double basketball practice.

Poor Lucas. Whitey had been drilling that team in the ground that week. Friday was a huge game for them. They were going up against their long-time rivals that they had lost to 10 years in a row. Whitey was planning on ending that streak on Friday. They had practice before school and practice after school. The few times that Liz had talked to Lucas he was way to exhausted to hold a somewhat coherant conversation.

This left Liz in painful suspense. She couldn't help but think that Lucas was going to ask her something important that night. It almost seemed that he was going to ask her out. And she couldn't figure out whether or not she dreaded the thought or was absolutely excited by it.

Despite the hectic week, Liz still had something to look forward to. It's a tradition at Tree Hill High that after the big game, there's a party. Win or lose, there was always a party. This year, that party was being held at the famous Scott beach house. Now, Liz hated Nathan, that was a fact, but she loved a good party. The cheerleaders had gotten to her. She wasn't a crazy party person like Brooke, but she did know how to have fun. It would be more fun if her best friends could join her, but that was just never going to happen.

So when Friday finally came, she couldn't help but be excited. At the moment, she was at cheerleading practice, going over the halftime routine.

"Come on ladies, it's not good enough! Do you realize how many people are going to be there tonight? A lot, and I will not have my squad looking like a bunch of idiots in skirts!" screamed Brooke.

"You're squad?" questioned Leanna.

"Uh, I mean Leanna's squad," Brooke stuttered nervously. Leanna was the one who picked captain next year so now was the time to suck up. Peyton and Liz rolled their eyes from the back of the lines.

The rest of practice went pretty good apart from a stressed out Brooke. However, Liz was having a hard time concentrating. How could she when Lucas was a mere 50 feet away from her looking all sexy...

What Liz didn't know was that Lucas had stolen a few glances himself.

And what they both didn't know was that someone else had their eye on Lucas.

When cheer practice had finally ended Liz couldn't wait to sleep. But that wouldn't happen since the game would be starting in about 3 hours. She was on her way to the locker room when she was stopped by none other than Lucas.

"Hey Liz! Wait up!"

"Oh, hey Luke. Wow it seems like we haven't talked in forever."

"Yeah, well that's because the longest we've ever gone without talking was a day."

"That's true. So what's up? Why aren't you at practice?"

"Oh, Whitey let us go early. Something about how we need the time to think about how this game is going to change our lives. A little dramatic, I know, but this is really important to him. So, anyways I wanted to ask you something."

"Sure." Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.

"Well, um, you know about the party tonight right?" he asked nervosly.

"You mean the one that you and Haley would never be caught dead at? Yeah, what about it?"

"Well I was just wondering..." he trailed off.

"Wondering what?" Maybe he won't ask...

"If you'd want to go with me?"

"As friends?"

"As more than friends." Please say yes.

Liz couldn't believe it. This was either her worst nightmare, or the best thing that had ever happened to her. Well, whatever it was, she had to answer him now before he took it back.

"I'd love to go with you."

"Great. Well see ya!" said Lucas as he gave her a small before walking away feeling very relieved and slightly shocked.

The first thing that Liz thought about doing was to run home and call Haley. Well actually, the first thing was to dance around screaming with excitement but she didn't want to make a scene.

Later at Liz's house...i]

"HE WHAT?!!!" yelled Haley. Liz had to take the phone away from her ear from the shrill sound of Haley's voice.

"He asked me out. But it's probably no big deal."

"No big deal? How can it be no big deal when he clearly stated that he wanted to go as more than friends?"

"Oh God, it is a big deal. Hales, what am I going to do?" Liz asked. She was really nervous all of a sudden.

"What do you mean? It's Lucas. What are you so worried about?" asked a confused Haley.

"Yeah, but this is the first time we're going to be going out as more than friends. What if it doesn't work out?"

"Okay, I'm just going to say it. You and Luke are perfect for each other. You've both been in love with eachother since forever and it's about time that you guys do something about it. Believe me Liz, there is no way that this won't work out."

"Thanks Hales, I needed that. So what about you? Are you going to the party?"

"Yeah right! So I could be a loner? I think not. You guys go and have fun."

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely. Look, I gotta go, but I'll see you at the game okay?"

"Okay. Bye Hales."

"Bye Lizzie."

Now she just had to figure out what to wear to the party tonight.

Later, during the last minute of the game...

Lucas had been the star the whole game much to Nathan's extreme dislike. Nathan's temper had distracted him and he became more of a burden to the team than an asset, causing Whitey to take him out of the game. The Ravens were playing the game of their life but were still behind by two.

"Lucas Scott has really been on fire tonight ladies and gentleman! A huge improvement from last week's embarrassment," said the announcer who happened to be one of Luke's good friends who he called Mouth.

Liz was having the best time. Halftime had gone great and now Lucas was finally showing everyone how great he could be. As the clock wore down to 10 seconds, she looked over and saw that Lucas had the ball.

He did a fake to the left, went to the right and shot the ball.

3, 2, 1....

"And it's good for three! Ravens WIN!!!"

At that moment, everyone in the gym was on their feet cheering. Well, everyone except for Nathan and Dan.

Luke felt like he was on top of the world. He looked over to his mom who was with his uncle Keith and saw that she was near tears. He knew those were tears of joy. Then he looked over towards his next important person. Liz. She was laughing with Peyton and Brooke. He loved it when she smiled. That is when she is the most beautiful. He still couldn't believe that she had said yes to him. Sure, he'd be happy with being just friends but he wanted something more. Hopefully she did too.

Later, at Liz's house...

Liz was in her room with Haley putting the final touches on her outfit. She was wearing low hip-hugger skinny jeans with a green tank top. She also wore black boots over the jeans and a black leather jacket. Her hair was in soft waves and the only jewelry she wore was a turquoise stone necklace. As for makeup, she stuck to natural colors. She looked gorgeous.

"Wow Liz, you look awesome," said Haley as she looked at the mirror from behind Li.

"I do, don't I? I'm so excited Hales, I have a feeling that tonight is going to be a night to remember," she said as she looked herself over.

"Okay, even though that was like the cheesiest thing you've ever said, I'm happy for you Liz."

Before Liz could answer her, the doorbell rang.

"Oh my God, that's him! What do I do?" asked a frantic Liz.

"Answer the door. And remember, it's just Lucas. Now go have fun."

"Thanks. Bye," said Liz as she grabbed her purse and headed for the front door. She took a deep breath before answering it. And when she did, she was not disappointed. He looked the best that she had ever seen him

"Hi, Luke," she greeted him with a dazzling smile.

"Hey," he said with a smile to match hers. "Ready to go?"

"Yeah," she said as she closed the door behind her.

AN: Here's Chapter 5! I hope you all like it. No roswellians in this chapter. I'm having trouble figuring out how to write them in. Any suggestions? Oh, and I changed Liz's character overview.
Don't forget to REVIEW! Thanks to all of those who have reviewed, kaeep 'em coming!

Chapter 5

Lucas had always been a calm and laidback kind of person. It took a lot for him to lose his cool. But this was ridiculous. A month ago, if he was at one of these parties with the people that had alienated him his whole life, he would have, atleast, been a little nervous. But right now, he was the epitome of confidence. In fact, out of the 13 years that Liz had known him, this was the most confident she had ever seen him. It would have scared her if he didn't look so hot.

The night was going great. Lucas hadn't let go of her hand the whole hour they had been there. But even though they never left each other's side, they hadn't really had much time to talk. Several people came up to Lucas congradulating him on his great game, and girls kept coming up to Liz and telling her how lucky she was to be there with Lucas Scott. Please, like she had to be told.

Liz was happy that Lucas was getting the appreciation that she knew he always deserved, but it was a little unsettling. She just hoped that it wouldn't change him. But, that's not the sort of thing Lucas would do, so she really didn't have to worry about that. Besides, the few times that she had seen Nathan tonight, he looked more than a little upset. She couldn't lie and say that didn't make her happy.

Later in the night, Lucas and Liz finally had a moment to themselves, when she noticed a teary Peyton sitting on the porch alone. And seeing as how Brooke was to drunk to do anything, she took it upon herself to do something.

"I'll be right back, okay Luke," said Liz as she let go of his hand.

"Sure, I'm just going to get something to drink. Want anything?"

"No thanks," Liz said as they headed for different directions.

As she came up to the curly-haired blonde, she decided to be subtle. It took a lot for Peyton to show emotion and this open display worried Liz.

"Hey Peyton," said Liz as she took a seat next to Peyton.

"Hey," said Peyton, quickly trying to wipe off the already fallen tears.

"Is it Nathan?"

Peyton's silence to Liz's question spoke volumes.

"You know Peyt--,"

"Yeah, I know. I can do better than Nathan Scott. Well, that's why I just broke up with him."

Liz sighed. She knew that this was the best thing for Peyton, but her and Nathan had been close at one time.

"Well, I can't say that I'm not happy for you Peyton. But what I can say is that now you can find someone who'll treat you the way you deserve. That reminds me, I saw Jake looking your way earlier."

That last comment caused Peyton to smile. A rare occasion for the usual broody teen. She could get worse than Lucas at times.

"Oh my Gosh! Is that a smile? Alert the media! Peyton Sawyer is smiling!" Liz shouted as she stood up from the bench. An embarrased, but still smiling Peyton pulled Liz back down.

"Your crazy Parker."

"That's why you love me," said Liz.

"You got that right," said a voice from behind the two laughing girls.

"Oh, hey Luke. Sorry it took me so long. I got a little side tracked."

"I can see that," said Lucas as he changed his focus between the two girls. He didn't think he ever saw Peyton Sawyer smile so much. After that, there was a bit of an awkward silence until Peyton stood up and spoke.

"Well, I think I'm gonna take off. Good game Lucas. Bye Liz," said Peyton as she walked away.

After she was gone, Lucas turned towars Liz.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?" Lucas asked as he entwined his finers with Liz's.

"About 10 times, but it always does a girl good to hear it atleast one more time," said Liz as she leaned in closer.

"You look beautiful," he said as he also leaned in.

"So, Mr. Hot Shot Basketball Player, how does it feel? Being the new Scott on top."

Lucas laughed and answered,"I doubt that I'm on top. I'm sure once we get back to school on Monday, people will have forgotten all about me and will continue worshipping the ground Nathan walks on. Although, it was fun knocking him down a few nothches."

"I bet it was. But I don't think people will forget about you. I think they're going to see in you exactly what've I've always seen,"
said Liz as she leaned in even closer.

"I don't think anybody sees me the way you do," said Lucas in a low whisper that would have gone unheard if Liz wasn't only inches away.

"Ditto," Liz said right before Lucas brushed his lips against hers. It was so light yet she felt like her lips were on fire.

Lucas buried his hand into Liz's long hair as the kiss deepened. In return Liz reached up and placed her hand on Lucas' neck, pulling him even closer. For a moment, it was as if it was just the two of them in their own world where nothing could touch them. This was it. The moment that would change everything. But that didn't matter. All that mattered was eachother.

When they pulled apart, Liz couldn't help but feel lightheaded. That was the most amazing kiss she had ever experienced. If she had known that Lucas could kiss like that, she would have done this a long time ago.

When Liz opened her chocolate colored eyes, she was met by a pair of two crystal blue orbs that had the power to take her breath away. She had never seen Luke's eyes like she was seeing them now. Filled with so much passion and... love. They made her feel weak, but strong at the same time, and protected.

Why did it take me so long to realize it? I love Lucas Scott.

As Lucas leaned in for another kiss, they were so captivated by eachother that neither one of them noticed Brooke who was standing about 20 feet away, watching.

"HeeyyyyBroookee," slurred Bevin as she came to Brooke's side.

"Watcha glarin' at?"

"Nothing," said Brooke, still glaring at Liz who, at the moment, was kissing her next target. Lucas was hot. That much was obvious. And as of tonight, he was popular. This made him a perfect candidate for Brooke's next boyfriend/boytoy. If one thing was true, Brooke always got what and who she wanted. This time wasn't any different.

"Let's go."

------------------------

As Lucas pulled up in front of Liz's house, he leaned in and kissed her again. He could hardly keep his hands off of her ever since his lips touched hers for the first time. It felt right to him. They felt right. He now regretted waiting so long to ask her out.

I love this girl, he thought.

He was pulled out of reverie when Liz pulled away.

"What is this Luke?" asked Liz, somewhat brathlessly.

"What do you mean?" asked a confused Lucas.

"Where do we go from here? Are we together or..." said Liz biting her lip.

Lucas abruptly kissed her. A kiss that just about blew her mind.

"Does that answer your question?" asked Lucas as he tucked a piece of Liz's hair behind her ear.

"Yeah, it does," said Liz.

Chapter 6

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: First, I would just like to thank everyone who reviewed for their awesome feedback. You guys are awesome! Second, I hope you guys like this part too. Oh and I accidently didn't update Liz's overview last time, but I did this time, so check it out. It's just a small change, but it does have something to do with later chapters, so I recommend you read it. Now that's out of the way, enjoy!

Chapter 6

The week after the party, things with the new couple were perfect. Liz and Luke had been just about inseperable the entire time they had officially been a couple. Liz was extremely relieved to know that their friendship hadn't changed at all since Friday. They did all the same things they did when they were "just friends." But now there was a considerable amount of lip-locking involved.

Liz was amazed at how right it felt to be with Lucas. Everytime she was with him, she felt like nothing in the world could possibly hurt her. When she was away from him, she ached for the moment where she could look into his crystal blue eyes and feel right again. However, these new feelings towards her best friend left her a little afraid.

Lucas was quick to return Liz's feelings. For the longest time, he felt wrong for feeling the way he did about Liz. They were best friends, end of story. Well this story had a sequel. Lucas couldn't believe that Liz had wanted him just as he wanted her. He also couldn't believe how fast things were going with the two of them. One day they were only friends, and now they were friends in love. Lucas couldn't help but be a bit worried. He only hoped that they would last.

From a different perspective, Haley couldn't be happier for her friends. She was the one who realized how much in love they were and knew how stupid they were to not see it themselves.

However, she was feeling left out at times. For as long as she could remember, Liz, Luke and herself had been a threesome. But nevertheless, she wouldn't trade the happiness of her friends for anything in the world.

Besides, it's not as if they were purposely alienating her. They actually went out of their way to make her feel more included. But she knew they really wanted to be alone. So that's why she left them to themselves in the quad as she went to the tutor center to finish some work.

As she was walking down the seemingly deserted hallway, a loan figure came from around the corner and stopped her. It was none other than Nathan Scott.

"Hey, Hilary right?" greeted Nathan.

"No, and move," said Haley rudely as she continued walking down the hall. She was not up to dealing with Captain Jackass.

"Wait! Can I ask you for a favor?"

"No, now move," replied Haley as she tried to go around Nathan. However, he had other plans as he side stepped in front of her.

"Well, your gonna here it anyways. So, I heard your the best tutor around and I was wondering if you would tutor me?"

"....."

"Hilary?"

"What? Oh sorry, I just hallucinated. I thought you asked me to be your tutor."

"I did," said a confusd Nathan.

"Oh, well in that case, NO!"

"Look, I can just get a teacher to assign you to me. I'm sure they'll do it, seeing as how none of them want to be responsible for the Ravens having a losing season since I can't play if I don't bring my grades up."

"Well that argument certaintly isn't persuading me to change my decision," said Haley as she folded her arms over her chest.

"Okay, fine. If I get kicked off the team, my dad will be beyond pissed. Believe me, you have no idea how bad that could possibly be."

"Are you sure you just don't want Lucas to steal the spotlight? Oh wait! He already did," said Haley. She knew it was mean, but hey, he made Lucas' life miserable for most of his life.

"You know what? Forget it," said Nathan as he turned away.

"Wait!" shouted Haley running to catch Nathan as he turned to her.

"I'll tutor you. But you have to take it seriously. The first time you disrespect me or my friends, I quit. The first time you're late I quit. First session is tomorrow after school. Oh, and by the way, the name's Haley."

"Thanks Haley," said Nathan as he turned to leave. Leaving Haley to stand there, in the middle of the hall, wondering what just happened.

Damn my conscious.

----------------------

Meanwhile, Liz and Lucas had decided that the quad was too public for what they really wanted to be doing, so they had moved their activities to the eraser room where they were currently enveloped in a rather passionate makeout session.

Liz's jacket was on the floor along with Lucas' as they were busy exploring eachother's mouths. Liz felt like she might explode. Lucas' strong hands felt like fire to her skin making her feel like a volcano about to erupt. She almost did erupt when Lucas decided to explore her body with his lips. She leaned her head back so he could have better access.

He felt as if he couldn't touch her enough. It was like he was addicted to her. This was definately his favorite thing about his new relationship with Liz. And right now, he as taking full advantage of it.

Lucas began his journey down her body as he placed butterfly kisses along her jaw making his way towards her neck. From there he continued on to her collarbone delivering several lingering kisses. Once he found a sensitive spot, he darted out his tonque to taste Liz's sweet skin. He smiled as his actions elicited soft moans from Liz's perfect lips. As his tongue was doing a dance along her collarbone, his hands were creeping higher up the back of her shirt.

"You know...my mom...is out of... town," said Liz as she tried to keep what little control she had.

"Oh?" said Lucas before he began to suck on Liz's sensitive neck.

"Yyyyeeeessss," half moaned and half answered Liz as she buried her hands in Lucas' hair.

"Well I guess that means I'll be coming over tonight," said Lucas before he attacked her lips again with another searing kiss.

"You better comeover tonight," said Liz as they came up for air, leaning their forheads against one another's. They stayed that way for awhile, just holding eachother, until Liz broke the silence.

"We should probably go. The bell's going to ring in a minute and I don't think we want to be caught coming out of the eraser room."

"Yeah, your probably right," said Luke as he bent down to pick up their jackets. They made themselves decent before they stepped out into the hallway. As they stood by themselves, Lucas grabbed Liz around the waist and pulled her too him as Liz wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I love you, Liz," said Lucas as he lost himself into her deep brown eyes.

"I love you too," said Liz with a huge smile on her face. Lucas leaned down and kissed her softly yet passionately. They didn't even hear the bell ring or the bustle of students surrounding them. This was the firs time they had expressed their feelings towards eachother, and nothing could ruin this moment.

----------------------

After school, Lucas had basketball practice and since Brooke was being a bitch this week, for unknown reasons, Liz decided to skip cheer practice and visit Haley at the tutor center. She felt bad that she had to leave Peyton though. They were cheer buddies and Peyton had been having a tough week since her breakup from Nathan. Peyton had caught him with another girl at the party and decided that she had enough. He had been drunk, but that was no excuse.

As she stood in the doorway of the TC, she spotted Haley alone at a table in the back looking semi-pissed.

"Hey Hales, what's up?" greeted Liz as she sat next to Haley.

"You'll never believe what happened to me today," said Haley, happy to be able to finally talk to Liz. She missed her friends.

"Nathan Scott asked you out."

"No, but close. He asked me to tutor him," said Haley.

"And you said no, right?" asked Liz as she gave Haley and inquisitve look.

"Well not exactly..." mumbled Haley, looking away from Liz.

"YOU SAID YES?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!!" shouted Liz, attracting attention to herself and the brunette sitting next to her.

"Shhh. Not so loud," said Haley trying to calm Liz down.

"What were you thinking Haley. This is Nathan Scott we're talking about. You know, the asshole who has made our lives miserable since the 5th grade."

"I know, okay. He seemed really desperate and I couldn't say no," explained Haley.

"You know, your heart is just too kind sometimes. Even for your own good," said Liz as she slung her arm over Hale's shoulders.

"Yeah, I'm trying to fix that," she said as both girls started laughing.

"Hey, how about we go to the cafe early and get something to eat before we start our shift. That way we can hang out and catch up," said Liz.

"That sounds great."

And with that they both stood and made their way to Liz's mom's car, with linked arms.

Chapter 7

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: Thank you to everyone for the positive feedback, it really means alot to me. Sorry it took longer than usual to update but I was really busy with SAT's. I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 7

As Liz entered the cafe, arm in arm with Haley, she couldn't help the smile that overtook her face. This place was like a second home to her, just as Karen was like a second mom. She spent a majority of her childhood sitting in her special booth and playing with her two best friends. As they grew older and Luke starting working at Keith's garage, as she joined the cheer squad and Haley got a job at the tutoring center, this remained their home base. This is where they left their problems at the door and just enjoyed their time together. Even though the three were very close, they couldn't deny the fact that things were changing. But maybe they could hold on to childhood for just a little bit longer.

Liz was jolted from her reverie as she and Haley took a seat at the counter. They were soon greeted by Lucas' mother, Karen Roe.

"Hey girls," she greeted. "Aren't you a little early? Your shifts don't start for another two hours."

"What? Two friends can't come and enjoy the best food that Tree Hill has to offer?" joked Haley with a giggling Liz by her side.

"Haley, you're too much sometimes," said Liz as she slung her arm around her best friend's shoulder. Karen laughed at the two girls.

"I think the both of you together is too much. I don't know how my son keeps up with the two of you. Speaking of Lucas, I think this is the first time I've seen you without him attached to your hip. What'll it be ladies?

"The usual," said the girls in unison.

"Coming right up," said Karen as she ventured to the kitchen o fill in the orders.

"So, how are things going with you and Luke. Wait, before you answer, no explicit details okay? I'm not quite used to that yet."

Liz laughed at her friend's comment. "Lucas and I are doing great, thank you very much. It's different, but definately great."

"Different? How so?"

"Well, when I first started to like Luke in a more than "just friends" kinda way, I always thought that if we ever did get together, that it would be really awkward and uncomfortable. But it's the opposite. Whenever I'm with him, things just feel...right, y'know?" said Liz. When she finished, she once again had a huge smile gracing her face.

"Wow," Haley said with a slight chuckle.

"What?" asked Liz as her smile turned to a rather confused expression.

"You have really fallen hard Lizzie," said Haley, genuinely happy for her best friend.

"What are you talking about," Liz said feigning innocence.

"I always expected you guys to find your way to each other, I just never thought it would be this fast, and this hard. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm completely happy for the two of you, but I'm just afraid that you guys might be taking things a little too fast. I can tell that you already dropped those three little words. All's I'm saying is that I don't want the two people I care about most in this world to get hurt."

Liz smiled at Haley's words as she turned towards her friend and put both hands on her shoulders.

"Hales, I completely trust Luke not to hurt me and I would never do anything to hurt him. And yes, we have said those three words to eachother. And as for going too fast, well, all's I can say is that, the way Lucas makes me feel is like nothing I've ever experienced and I doubt that anyone will ever make me feel like this again. I know I should slow things down, but everything comes so natural with him that it's hard to say no."

"Okay, just promise me that you'll be careful," said Haley as she reached out and gave Liz a tight hug.

"I promise," said Liz as she returned the hug. Just as they pulled away, Karen came up and placed their orders in front of the girls.

"Here ya go ladies! Two burgers with everything on it and extra cheese fries."

"Yes! I'm starving!" yelled Liz as she shoved several fries in her mouth.

"You're always starving! I swear Liz, you eat just like a guy sometimes," said Haley causing Liz and Karen to laugh.

"So Liz, where did your mom say she was going?" asked Karen.

"She didn't really give me much details. When she left this morning, all she said was that she had some buisness to take care of and if I needed her, just call her cell phone. It's weird, since everytime she goes out of town, she gives me every possible detail from what hotel she's staying in to the precise time she will be home. In fact, she's bee acting weird all week."

"Your mom? Weird? I never heard of such a thing," said Haley sarcastically. In truth, Nancy Gellar was a bit eccentric. But Liz wouldn't have it any other way.

-----------------------------

Later that night, Liz was on her balcony lighting candles as she was waiting for Lucas to arrive for their night in. Liz couldn't help but be nervous for Lucas to show up. She wasn't completely sure if she trusted herself alone with him for a long period of time. And on top of that, Haley's words were about going too fast kept replaying in her head.

Before Liz could further contemplate her worries, she heard the familiar sounds of someone climbing up the balcony ladder. After setting down the lighter and candle, she turned towards the sound just as a head of spiky blonde hair emerged from the other side of the wall. Liz smiled as Lucas made his way over the wall and walked towards her. When he finally reached her, he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close to him. Then, he planted a slow and passionate kiss on Liz's lips.

As the slowly pulled apart Lucas said, "I've been waiting to do that for six hours, but it feels like forever."

"I missed you too," said Liz as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Why weren't you at practice? I was looking forward to seeing you all hot and sweaty as you bend ov--"

"Lucas!" Liz yelled as he felt the heat crawling up her neck.

"What?" Lucas asked with wide eyes.

Liz laughed at Lucas' look of feigned innocence. "I wasn't at practice because I didn't want to deal with Brooke today. She been a major pain since Friday and Ihae no idea why."

"Yeah, she was acting kind of strange today in class. She kept looking at me funny," said Lucas as he nuzzled his face in the crook of Liz's neck.

Wait, what? Liz suddenly felt a wave of anger hit her. She knew exactly what kind of 'funny' look Brooke was giving her boyfriend. "Looking, at you? I swear, if she tries anything, I--"

"So, babe, what do you have planned for us on this fine night?" asked Lucas as he sat on the nearby loveseat, pulling Liz into his lap as her anger began to fade.

"Well, boyfriend, I was thinking we could have a movie night. Y'know, like old times. Before things got all crazy."

"That sounds perfect. As long as Haley doesn't come out here with a bowl of popcorn and a box of Goobers."

"Luke! Haley's our best friend. We shouldn't isolate her."

"That's not what I meant. What I meant was that I just want you all to myself for tonight. I've been sharing you all week and right now, I'm in a selfish kinda mood," he said as he brushed a piece of Liz's hair out of her face.

"Well, I promise... tonight... is just... you... and me," said Liz as she kissed him between her words.

"Then anything you have planned is fine as long as you stay in my arms the entire night," he said as he kissed her long and hard.

"Mmm, well aren't you such a romantic. And believe me, there is nowhere I would rather be than right here with you."

Before things progressed, they decided to go into the livingroom where they could be more comfortable. There, Liz put in Empire Records and cuddled with Lucas for the first fifteen minutes of the movie. However the innocent cuddling didn't last very long as the light kisses turned to passionate kisses and as those kisses led to a full fledged make out on the couch.

Lucas felt like he needed to touch every single inch of Liz's body. It was like no matter what he did, he could never get enough of her. She was his drug and he was addicted. His hands began to make their way up the back of her shirt as her lips assaulted his neck causing her name to come from his lips in a low, quiet moan.

Liz smiled when she heard Lucas moan her name. She knew that she was effecting him just as much as he was effecting her. She could feel the familiar way his hands made her skin feel like it was on fire. As she made her way back to his lips, her hands began to explore the rest of his body. They started at his hard chest and continued down to where she could feel his well defined abs through his shirt. That wasn't good enough for her though, as she slid her hands under his shirt and swept it over his head.

Lucas was somewhat surprised at Liz's bold behavior. He recovered, however, when Liz's lips came crashing down on his. To return her actions his tongue lined Liz's lips seeking entrance which she happily granted. Lucas then turned them over so that she was under him as he lifted her t-shirt over her head.

As more of her skin was exposed to him, the need to feel her became even stronger. Lucas began the journey from her lips, down her throat to her bare chest. He then started planting small kisses along the swell of her breasts, eliciting small, breathless gasps from Liz's swollen lips.

At that moment, Haley's warning from earlier was the farthest thing from Liz's mind. In fact, the only thing on her mind was Lucas.

Just as Lucas found the clasp to Liz's bra, a loud ringing noise interrupted the heated touching.

"Uhh, damn it!" groaned Lucas as he pulled away from Liz to answer the phone.

"Hello? Oh, hi mom. What? No. Come on mom I'm busy. Uh, studying. French. Okay, okay, fine. I'm on my way."

Before he even said anything, Liz knew that he had to leave. She had never been so disappointed in her entire life. She could still feel Luke's hands as she sat up and pulled her t-shirt back over her head.

Lucas pulled on his shirt then turned to Liz and said, "I'm so sorry, but Keith needs some extra help at the garage tonight. I dont know why he needs it this late, but I guess he does. I promise I'll make it up to you."

"You better," she replied with a smile as she gave him a lingering kiss on the lips.

He softly brushed her cheek with the back of his knuckes before he climbed out of the window and down the fire escape.

After Liz shut the window, nothing could stop the smile that slowly krept it's way on to her lips.

Well, that's it folks! So how did you like it? Good? Bad? REVIEW!!!

Next Chapter: Drama! Brooke approaches Lucas with a proposition. Haley get's a surprise. And what is Liz's mom hiding?

Chapter 8

Post by LPdreamer08 »

AN: Okay so I'm kinda mad. I wrote this entire chapter and while I was putting on the final touches, I guess I accidentally pushed something on the keyboard that I wasn't supposed to and everything was erased. So that's why there is an update now, and not 3 days ago. Well anyways, here's chapter 8. Please review!

Chapter 8

Jeff Parker was having a very hard week. His case was going to trial and his past had finally caught up to him. During the past week, he had done alot of thinking. He spent hours mulling over his past decisions and how his life would be different had he made different choices fifteen years ago. For his wife's sake, he believed that he made the right decision to stay with her and leave his now ex-wife of five years. A wife that he had a daughter with. Well, an adopted daughter.

Even though he had betrayed them, he still thought about his baby girl. Could he really call her that still. After all, Liz was sixteen now. Sixteen. A very special age for a girl, especially for Liz. He hadn't seen her since the day after her first birthday, three months after her adoption was finalized. Six months after he started his affair with an old college flame. He still doesn't know why he ever went through with the adoption when, in his heart, he knew he wasn't in love with his wife. But from the moment his blue eyes met her chocolate brown ones, he knew. He could never say no to her. So he stayed with Nancy, hoping that his infidelity was just a phase that he could get over. He never got over it.

He never told Nancy the truth. She had found out on her own. How she found out is still a mystery to him. When she left, taking his precious little girl with her, it broke his heart. He figured it was what he deserved for braking her heart. But that didn't stop the fact that he was still very angry with her for taking away his daughter. Now he didn't know if he could even call her his daughter.

That is what made the phone call he was about to make especially diffucult. But he had put this off for a week, and now it was time to own up to a promise that he and Nancy had made almost 15 years ago. He still couldn't believe that he found their number. Even more surprised to find that he hadn't thrown it away.

It took him several attempts to dial the number correctly since he was shaking so badly. As he lifted the phine to his ear, he held his breath as he waited for her to pick up. A big part of him hoped that she would sleep through the ringing. It was late, and she was most likely asleep.

"Hello?" came a groggy voice from the reciever. But he always know that Nancy was a light sleeper.

"Look, if anyone's there, you better hurry up and say something because it's late and I'm extremely tired."

Jeff realized that he hadn't actually spoken anything and figured that he should probably say something soon or else he might not have the courage to do it later on.

"Hi Nance," he said in rather hoarse voice.

"Jeff."

---------------------

Haley James was very mad. No, she was more than mad. She was livid. She had gone out on a limb for someone that she strongly disliked and he was late. For the second time. However, when he wasn't late, she had to admit that Nathan Scott surprised her. For instance, she found out that he wasn't a complete brainless jackass. He actually liked to learn the things that she was teaching. He just had the wrong priorities.

Haley glanced once more at her watch when Nathan finally came bounding in the room and sat down at the table that she was currently seated at. He tried giving her an innocent, but she only saw this as strike three.

"Come on Haley, I'm not that late," he said as he slouched back in his chair.

"Not that late?? Nathan, I've been waiting here for a half an hour. I told you last time, that if you slipped up one more time that I was done. And your not exactly on my people-to-give-third-chances-to list. So, I'm sorry but I'm leaving," said Haley as she began to pack up her things.

"Wait," Nathan said as he placed his hand on her arm. "I'm sorry."

"Excuse me?" asked Haley. There is no way that Nathan just apologized.

"Uh, sorry?" he replied a bit confused.

"Wow, I didn't think it was possible."

Nathan let out a small chuckle as Haley sat down, still in shock.

After a few minutes later, Haley broke the silence.

"Okay, look. I'll keep tutoring you on one condition. You have to tell me why you're so late. I'm naturally nosey and since my two best friends are more interested in sucking face than having any sort of conversation, I need some gossip."

"It was my dad," Nathan answered solemnly, the smile completely erased from his face.

"Your dad?" asked Haley. She was a bit surprised that he anwered her in the first place.

"I was on the phone with my dad. He's been on my case lately with all the grades and basketball stuff. My whole life, he's always told me how basketball was my ticket to greatness and how I was better than everybody. And I believed it, until now. You know, he didn't even tell me about Lucas. I had no idea that we were brothers until middle school. I had to ask him."

"Then, why do you hate him so much? Lucas, I mean," asked Haley, clearly interested, for the first time in what Nathan had to say.

"Because he's a thorn in my side that's why. Basketball is my thing and it always has been. And now with Friday's game my dad has been on my back more than usual. He keeps saying that Lucas is the better player and that I should be ashamed of myself. Sometimes I wonder if he has second thoughts on who he chose all those years ago."

There was a long pause before Haley finally asked, "So, why'd you just tell me all that?"

"You asked," he said, still not looking at her.

"Oh," she said looking down at her hands.

"I guess you're just easy to talk to." Haley looked up and met his eyes for the first time since she had known him.

She smiled before saying, "So, um geometry."

Smooth James. Real smooth.

-----------------

As he stepped out of the gym and into the cool night air, Lucas felt the exhaustion hit him. Whitey had worked the team extra had tonight. He wanted to make sure that thy maintained their winning streak. He atleast didn't have to worry about Nathan tonight since his dumbass had to go to tutoring. Despite the physical exertion, without his 'brother', this had been the easiest practice so far.

Luke figured that he looked like an idiot just standing there so he began to make his way towards his car. A smile came to his face when he realized where he was headed once he left the school. He was going to pick up Liz for a romantic night out.

As he slid into the driver's seat, he felt strange. Like he wasn't alone. His suspicions were soon confirmed when a very cheery and very naked Brooke Davis jumped up from her laying position in the back seat.

"Hey hottie," she said in her best, Brooke-wants-to-get-laid voice. She even winked as a cherry on top.

"Uh, Brooke? How did you get in my car and why are you in my car? Without any clothes?" asked Lucas, tying his best to not look at Brooke's more exposed parts.

"Well, the how really isn't that important and isn't the why obvious?" she said as she leaned into Lucas, lips only inches from his ear.

"Huh?" gulped Lucas.

"You're hot Lucas. And I want you. So I'm here to make you a little proposition. Why don't you foget about your little miss scientist and come back here so we can have some real fun?"

"Look Brooke, you're nice, but I'd choose my 'little miss scientist' over you anyday. Now, if you don't mind, could you please get out of my car? I'm late for a date," said Lucas as Brooke looked back at him, her jaw practically hitting the floor.

"Fine!" yelled Brooke as she began to get dressed. "But remember, it's your loss."

As she finally got out of the car, almost fully dressed, Lucas sped off towards Liz's house.

Brooke stood there, glaring at the tail lights of Lucas' car. This wasn't over. Brooke Davis always got what she wanted.

------------------

Liz was sitting on the couch reading an old TV Guide waiting for Lucas. He was a few minutes late so she decided to catch up on her favorite TV show.

"This damn hiatus sucks! May 2nd? What the hell?"

She was pulled out of her rant when she heard the doorbell ring. It was weird for him to ring the doorbell since he had always come through the balcony.

She put down the magazine as she stood up and walked downstairs towards the front door. She looked in the mirror once more before she opened the door to her waiting boyfriend.

"Hey beautiful," Lucas greeted as he bent down and gave her a sweet hello kiss.

"Hey. So, what do you have planned for us tonight?" asked Liz as she locked the door behind her.

"It's a surpise," he whispered in her ear as they walked down the driveway hand in hand toward Lucas' car.

--------------------

The night had truly been perfect. He had prepared a picnic for her in there spot not far from the Rivercourt. He made her favorite meal and had given her a mixed CD of all her favorite songs. It was definately a plus to have a boyfriend that knew you better than anyone. After they finished eating, Liz challenged Lucas to a game of ono-on-one, just like when they were kids and when Liz was a tomboy. However, they never got around to actually finishing the game since they just ended up making out in the middle of the court. Lucas had forgotten all about his little encounter with Brooke earlier.

When it bean to get late, Liz figured that she better get home since her mom was supposed to call tonight. When Lucas had pulled up to her house, Liz found that she didn't want the night to end. So what began as an innocent kiss goodbye, quickly turned into a hot and passionate kiss that continued into the backseat.

Lucas' shirt was had already been discarded as was Liz's and now they were back in the same position they had been in before. But this time, both phones were on silent.

Lucas began to plant small but slow kisses all the way down Liz's torso. From her collarbone to tops of where her jeans rested on her lips. Every once in awhile he would stick out his tongue and taste her salty yet sweet skin. As he came back up to capture her lips, Liz rolled him over so now she was on top as so she could deliver the same sweet torture. Lucas couldn't take it much longer so he quickly switched positions again to regain control.

As Liz was once again on her back, she felt something poking her in the back. At first, she ignored it since she would much rather concentrate on what Lucas was doing, but then it was digging further into her skin so she reached behind her to remove it. When she saw what it was, she immediately stopped what she was doing.

Lucas stopped what he was doing when he noticed that Liz wasn't moving. A bit confused, he looked to see what had Liz so distracted. His eyes widened at what he saw.

"What the hell is this?" asked Liz as she held up a bright red, lacey bra.

-----------------

Nancy had been in Roswell, New Mexico for a week. A place that she vowed she would never return to. Not as long as he was still living here. When she had gotten that call from her ex-husband two weeks ago, she had almost blacked out. It was like an old nightmare resurfacing. Little did she know that the nightmare was only beginning.

When she and Jeff Paker had adopted little Elizabeth Claudia Summers when she was just a nine month old baby, they had known of the baggage that she came with. Her biological mother wanted to be able to meet her when Liz turned sixteen years old. It had been months since Liz turned sixteen, so Nancy had assumed that she was free to just live out the rest of her life without Liz ever knowing the truth. But she was terribly wrong.

Claudia Summers was back and looking for the children that she had given up. Yes, children.

Liz had a twin brother. Michael Evans.

Chapter 9

2:09 a.m. - Roswell, New Mexico

Michael Evans wasn't surprised that sleep wasn't coming easy to him as he lay wide awake in bed. Who would be able to sleep when their whole life was being turned upside down beyond their control? No one. Unless they were Max, but he could sleep with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Michael didn't know why this sudden news was such a shock to him. He knew his past was out there, waiting to reintroduce itself to him.

He knew he was adopted. At seven years old, he was old enough when it happened to be aware of what was going on around him. However, he really couldn't remember much about his life before the Evans had found his sobbing form in the rain and rescued him from his messed up life. The doctors had said it was some sort of memory loss as a result of a traumaic experience. Michael really didn't care anymore.

He knew he was adopted and he knew that someday, his birth mother would come looking for him. His parents had told him that much.

It took him a long time before he could call Philip and Diane Evans his parents. Aswell as calling Max and Isabel his brother and sister. Truthfully, he never really felt like he was apart of this family. The Evans were great. They welcomed him into their home without hesitation and he will be forever grateful for that. But he always felt like there was something out there, waiting for him. He didn't know for sure, but maybe he would find out when he finally got to meet his mother.

The dreaded phone call from Claudia Summers had come just a week ago. It had been a very busy week. First, his parents had to meet with her before she had any sort of contact with Michael. Apparently, she had a drug problem at the time she gave him up and they wanted to make sure that she was clean now. After the meeting, Michael was expecting the news that he would be meeting his mother for the fist time within the next couple of days. That, however, wasn't the case. There were some complications in the arrangement. He knew this when his parents had sat him down after the meeting to have a talk with him. Claudia Summers wanted very much to meet him. But she wanted to see her children for the first time, together.

That was the news that had just about floored him. He had a sister. A sister that lived clear across the country and didn't even know that he existed. Her parents had divorced and her mom moved the both of them to some town in North Carolina never telling her that she was adopted. Hence her mother's hesitation on letting her daughter meet her birth mother. In fact, she only was allowing this reunion if and only if it takes place in North Carolina. She said that Liz was very school oriented and she didn't want this to turn her entire life around. But that was going to happen whether or not she wanted it or not.

His parents had been upset that Nancy Gellar was so adamant that Liz not be forced to travel all the way to Roswell when her life had just begun to fall into place. The Evans argued that Michael was the same age and it would be unfair to him and to Claudia for them to travel just to cater to Liz's needs. This led to an even bigger argument that was ultimately left unsettled. So, Philip and Diane Evans left the decision up to him. Did he just want to meet his mom, or did he want to also meet his sister.

That was the question that was going through his head at that moment. On one side, he would be willing to travel however far it took to meet his real family. On the other side, he was hesitant to reach out and welcome somebody into his life. It took him almost a year to fully except his adoptive family. But that turned out fine so what was he so afraid of? Well there was the fact that she had no idea that she even had a brother. Which he thought was pretty messed up. Poor Liz Parker's life was about to be turned upside down and she had no idea.

----------------------

Lucas could only stare at the object dangling from Liz's slender finger as his mouth hung open. At first he couldn't even remember how the provocative piece of lace had come to be in his backseat, but then he remembered Brooke and her little ambush from earlier that evening. He winced as he recalled the event.

Seeing a change in the lame face that Luke had previously been wearing on his face, a seathing Liz decided to remind him of the question at hand.

"Well?"

Seeing his girlfriend ready to tear his head off if he didn't answer soon, Lucas tried to come up with an explanation without lying to her.

"Look Liz, I can explain."

"No Lucas, I don't need you to explain. I just need for you to tell me who this belongs to," said Liz in an eerily calm voice as she held up the incriminating object for Lucas to get a full view.

Lucas took a deep breath before he answered her."It's Brooke's. But-"

"Brooke's? As in Brooke Davis? I can't believe this," she said as she pulled away from. She gathered her shirt and threw it on before she reached for the car door handle. Before she could fully open the door Lucas intercepted the action and took hold of her arm only to have her wrench it from his grasp. He couldn't help but flinch at the look she was currently giving him. A mixture of shock and disapointment.

"Don't touch me," Liz said in such a low whisper that Lucas had to strain to hear her. His heart was nearly breaking as he saw the beginning of fresh tears begin to build in her beautiful brown eyes.

Seeing that he wasn't going to stop her from leaving again she quickly exited the car, hurried up the lawn, opened the front door and slammed it behind her. Not bothering to glance behind her once. If she did, he would surely see the evident tears running down her cheeks and she would not be caught crying.

This was probably the worst he had ever felt in his entire life. He couldn't handle the fact that he had put those tears in his Liz's eyes. After a moment of sitting there feeling sorry for himself, he put his own shirt on and drove back home.

Liz peaked through the small window at the top of the door before turning and slowly sliding down to the floor where she curled up and buried her head in her hands and quietly cried herself to sleep.

A few hours later, Liz was awakened from her uncomfortable spot on the hardwood floor when she heard the shrill ringing of the phone. She slowly rose to answer it and was pleasantly surprised to hear the voice on the other end.

"Hi, mom," Liz said with a slight sniffle.

"Hey sweetie. What's wrong?" replied Nancy as she noticed that her daughter's voice was full of sadness.

"Oh, mom," mumbled Liz as she began to cry into the phone.

-----------------------

When Lucas stepped through the door leading to his room, he felt like absolute crap. He could have just possibly ruined the best thing he had going on in his life right now. Part of him knew that what had happened wasn't really his fault, but the other part still felt guilty for how things turned out. And to think that night was supposed to be perfect. He was still puzzled as to how things had went from great to horrible in such a short amount of time. This wasn't surprising considering that his body seemed to be working in slow motion.

He collapsed on his bed and rubbed his hands over his face trying to rid himself of the confusion. His heart leapt in his chest as his cell phone rang, cutting through the silence. He jumped from the bed to where his phone lay on his desk praying to God that Liz would be on the other end.

"Hello?" he answered eagerly.

"Hello yourself, stranger," came Haley's perky voice.

"Oh. Hey Hales," Lucas relied dryly.

"Well I feel wanted," Haley said sarcastically.

"Sorry. I've had kind of a rough night."

"Really? I would think that you'd be in a state of euphoria after your dream date with Liz? How did that go anyways? I tried calling her but the line was busy."

"It started out great. We were having a great time. Then I took her home and things started to get a little...hot in the backseat."

"Eww, Luke! What have I told you? Spare me the dirty details! Anyways, continue."

"Well things definately cooled down when Liz found Brooke Davis' bra underneath her back," he cringed as he awaited the verbal onslaught.

"She found what?! How in the hell did Bitch Davis' bra get in your backseat?! Oh my God! Lucas, how could you? I thought you loved Liz! You guys were finally together an you go and screw it up with someone like Brooke Davis?? What were you thinking?"

Lucas then went on to explain what happened with Brooke unexpectantly showing up in his backseat and how he didn't have the chance to explain that to Liz before she practically flew out of the car.

"So, see? There was a perfectly logical explanation for this whole mix up," said Lucas as he finished the story.

"Well, there's nothing logical about Brooke Davis naked in your car, but I believe you. I'll go over to Liz's tomorrow and try to explain things to her."

"You don't have to do that. I'm the one who has some explaining to do."

"That's true. Wait! You can't do it tomorrow," said Haley.

"Why not?" asked Lucas, confused.

"Because Nancy comes back tomorrow and they were going to have a mother daughter day to celebrate her homecoming. That's why I was calling you. I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out and get reacquainted. We haven't really talked lately. You know, with basketball, tutoring, best friends that happen to also be girlfriends."

"That sounds like fun. Maybe a day with her mom will do us some good. Give her a chance to cool off," said Lucas, his voice filled with hope.

"Exactly. So, is it a date?" said Haley playfully.

"It's a date. But don't tell my girlfriend."

------------------------------

As Nancy sat in her seat on the plane, her mind was working a mile a minute. After she talking to her daughter the night before, she dreaded the next weekend even more than she had before. When she arrived in Roswell and met with the Evans and Claudia Summers along with her ex-husband she was hoping that she could convince her daughter's birth mother to change her mind about meeting with Liz. She argued that Liz had a comfortable life and this would just complicate her daughter's life.

Claudia stood her ground. She became angry and pointed out to Nancy that she had 15 years to tell Liz that she was adopted. Nancy knew she was right and soon gave up her argument. There was one thing that she requested of the younger woman. That she come to North Carolina so that Liz could salvage whatever normalcy she would have left. This didn't go over very well with Philip and Diane, but after Michael insisted that he had no problem with leavng, they reluctantly agreed.

She told them to wait a week before making the journey so that she could explain things to Liz. Nancy didn't miss the guilty look on Jeff's face. She also didn't care. He asked if she wanted him to come, but she quickly declined. She didn't want him anywhere near his daughter.

As the plane made a smooth landing and her feet were planted firmly on the ground, she took a deep breath, walking towards what could be the hardest time of her life. The feeling only increased when her eyes found her teenage daughter, who at that moment looked as though she had matured years. She took in Liz's appearance before making her presence known. Her hair was in a messy bun, pild on the top of her head and she was clad in sweat pants and a hoody. She wore no make up and she had dark circles under her puffy eyes. Her baby girl had been crying. She vaguely remembered the conversation about Lucas and someone named Brooke. Of course it was hard to make out anything with Liz's sobbing.

When she finally approached the small brunette, she couldn't even get a word out before Liz's arms were wrapped tightly around her neck. Nancy dropped her luggage before squeezing Liz just as tight.

"I missed you mom," whispered Liz.

"I missed you too, baby."
