Summary: Liz is looking for a new job, but instead finds an OLD relationship. Both return to Roswell to exact revenge on unsuspecting culprits. Josef never knew Sarah in this story.
Liz walked into the office building and knew something was off. The place reeked of danger. People were staring at her as if she was a deer walking into a wolf pack. She did not realize it was true.
She stepped up to the receptionist telling herself she just spent too much time with Michael. His paranoia has rubbed off on me.
"Excuse me."
"May I help you?" the receptionist asked with a look of confusion.
"I'm here to see Josef Kostan."
"You're not one of his usuals."
"I don't know what you mean. I'm here for the secretary job. I called yesterday and set up an appointment. The name is Elizabeth Parker."
"One moment please."
While she was on the phone to confirm the meeting, Liz had a chance to observe the receptionist. She had on a gray business suit with a mauve silk shirt.
"You may go up now. It's the top floor, and if you need anything please let me know. My name is Serena," she said with a sweet calming smile. "It will be alright."
"Thank you," Liz replied gratefully.
She made her way over to an empty metal coffin, as she liked to refer to them. She couldn't stand being in a confined room going up and down with only some cables holding it up. I hope nobody else gets on. These people are weirder than the Roswellians.
Liz was lucky, not a single person showed their face on the elevator. She stepped out and was met by a scrutinizing gaze of an elderly woman.
"This way. Mr. Kostan will be right with you," she was informed as they entered a waiting area.
"Thank you."
"Hmm."
Well fine then, Liz thought as the woman left.
"You must be Miss Parker," a husky voice said from the doorway.
Liz turned as she heard the familiar voice. Josef Konstantin.

Josef smelled her the moment she stepped off the elevator. Her intoxicating scent seemed even sweeter than the last time he had caught it. He had to have more. He inhaled and decided he waited long enough. He made his way out of his door with vampire speed.
"You must be Miss Parker." You're still as beautiful as ever.
Josef Konstantin. He heard her whisper through his mind. It had been such a long time since he felt the trembling connection flow to life. Once the connection was made all of her secrets poured out of her and into him, letting him know exactly what she had been up too.

Liz became aware of a low growl coming from Josef, and she was reminded of the connection they shared long before she knew there was life on other planets.
"Josef calm down. There's no reason getting territorial. Nothing happened." Now I know why they thought I was food in the lobby. They didn't realize I was a vampire as well.
"Nothing happened?!" Josef grabbed my arm and dragged me into his office, slamming the door in the process. "You were shot in the middle of the day! You were bleeding out! As much as I hate Max Evans' existence in your life, I'm glad he was there, or you would have died."
"I love you too," Liz confessed.
"Do you really? You left me for twenty years, changed your appearance in order to grow up as a child again, and were almost killed before I could find you. I've been looking for you everywhere. How do you think I felt? Waking up at dusk with nothing but a cold space next to me. I didn't understand until one night two men came looking for you, and I remembered you told me you would protect me, no matter what, the night you turned me. I would have gone with you. I wanted to go with you."
"And I couldn't let you. Mick needed you, Love, especially after what Coralline did. Then he had the obsession with following the child, Beth. I couldn't put you in more danger. My heart couldn't take it. I can only hope you will forgive me one day, and if you'll let me, I'll make it up to you every second I am still able to."
Josef didn't know what to say. All he could do was open his arms and allow her to walk into them.
"I take it what I saw in your head was the death of those men looking for you?" Liz just nodded taking all the comfort she could from the loving arms surrounding and protecting her.
"I love you, Elizabeth. I always have. Will you stick around for eternity?" he asked looking down at the woman he had loved for 400 years.
"Yes, from now until the end. I promise if there are any more problems we will handle it together." Liz said as she stood on her toes to receive a much needed kiss after 20 years of being devoid of them. "So does this mean I get the job?"
"Huh?"
"I came here for the secretary job."
"Oh, does that mean I actually get the chance to have an affair with my secretary?" Josef laughed. "I always wanted to try that. By the way, why do you smell human?"
"I can only figure it has to do with the alien you are so jealous of," she teased.
"I'll just have to have a little sample later then," he bent down to taste her lips again, excited for once about the night ahead.
I'll make sure you are not lonely anymore, Liz whispered seductively into his mind, into his heart, and into his soul.

There it is. Let me know what you think.
