Chapter 59
"Max all I am saying is that it is dangerous. You shouldn't try to handle this alone you could get killed!" Liz was almost in tears.
"Liz I'm always careful. And so far nothing has happened to me." Max answered.
"Yeah, I wonder how long that's going to Last,"
"Liz you need to realize that the work we do for Toney is dangerous, so, see I know I can handle this."
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Wait! You guess?"
"Yeah, I guess!" Liz said.
Right at that moment Michael and Maria stopped kissing and turned to see what Max and Liz were arguing about.
"You know your confusing as hell." Max said.
"Yeah, so? And I still think you need to tell Michael what is going on," Liz said.
"Liz I can handle this, see, we don't need to tell Michael or anyone else what is going on." Max said.
"No. I think you should tell Someone. So that way you won't end up dead."
" I have handled things like this before and I know I can handle this."
"When? Did you ever tell Michael about it."
"It was before you and Maria moved here. And no I have never told Michael, I think he would be mad if her ever found out."
"I think he would too."
"Maybe. But at least he was safe."
"You know you're crazy don't you? And I don't know if that is a good thing or bad one."
"Liz ,I'm not crazy. So stop thinking I am."
"No, I won't, because I believe it."
"Liz?"
"What?"
Right at that moment Michael and Maria walked over to Max and Liz together and faced them.
"What is going on?" Michael asked.
"Oh, you know... same ol same ol," Max said.
"Why does it seem that you are angry with each other all of the time?" Maria asked.
"Easy, I'm mad at Max because he won't talk to anyone about something big that is going on," Liz said.
"And I told Liz I can handle it on my own," Max said, staring her down.
"I told Max that it could be dangerous to handle it on his own," Liz said, her voice getting louder as she glared at Max.
"And I told Liz that if it is dangerous I can still handle it on my own," Max said.
"Um. OK. So did you get the costumes?" Maria asked, trying to change the subject.
"Yes. I got our costumes. I put them in the hallway closet," Liz answered.
"And mine and Michael's are on the table, so we can take them to the house when we leave here." Max said.
"Let me guess... no one can see each others costumes til the party Friday, right?" Michael asked.
"Yes. The party is when you can see what we will all be wearing," Liz said.
"You know that will be hard to do," Max said.
"Yeah, but I think it will be a fun surprise." Maria said.
"See...I agree with Maria," Liz said.
"Did Toney say he got his and Alice's costumes already?" Michael asked.
"Yeah, he got the costumes. He told me that Alice was going to dress as a hooker," Max said.
"Oh... that seems like a great costume for her." Maria said.
Liz smiled at Maria's remark...
"So how long do we have til the party?" Maria asked.
"We've got four days, so until then I guess we try and stay busy," Michael said.
"That should be easy, Liz works at the bar and I work at the herbal place and you guys work for Toney so that should keep us busy." Maria said.
Liz's cell phone started to ring about then and she turned away from the crowd to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hey Liz it's Toney... did you get your costumes?"
"Yes we did, I was wondering what are you and Alice dressing as?" Liz asked.
"Why do you want to know?" Toney asked.
"Well... so that I can find you both easier."
"Okay... I'm dressing as a Pirate and Alice is dressing up as a hooker," Toney said.
"OK. Hopefully we'll be able to find you both."
"What are you, Max, Maria and Michael dressing as?" Toney asked.
"Sorry we want to keep it as a surprise." Liz said.
"Whatever your wearing I'll bet it will be cute on you," Toney said.
"You will have to wait and see won't you." Liz said.
"OK. Are Max and Michael with you?" Toney asked.
"Um, yeah they are still here. We were just talking and relaxing. Do you need to talk to them?" Liz asked.
"Yeah, tell Michael to call me, it's important." Toney said.
Liz looked up and saw Max and Michael looking at her.
"Um, yeah I'll tell Michael . Is something wrong? You sound weird."
"Liz there is some guy looking for Max and Michael and I don't know what he wants but this guy is a wanted man and he is dangerous." Toney said.
"How do you know that? And what does he want with them?" Liz asked.
"Liz,a friend of mine was talking to him. That is how I know about this. I don't know what he wants with them. But he is looking for them," Toney said.
"So what can we do?" Liz asked.
"Make sure the guys guns are loaded. And that they have their protective vests on," Toney said.
"OK. I think we can do that," Liz said.
"There is no "I think", you need to do this," Toney said.
"OK. Maria and I will make sure. What else do we need to do?" Liz asked.
"Keep an eye out. And if you hear anything let us know," Toney said.
"OK. I will. Um I need to go. We're getting ready to eat," Liz said.
"OK. Liz, you and Maria stay safe. And whatever you do you make the guys watch their backs. Remember, tell Michel to call me. talk to you later." Toney said before he hung up.
Liz closed her cell phone and looked at Max and Michael and they saw the fear in her eyes, they knew something was wrong.
"Liz, what is it?" Maria asked.
"Um Michael you need to call Toney. It is really important that you call him right now." Liz said.
"I'll call him in a minute. What's wrong?" Michael asked.
"Liz didn't answer Michael, instead she walked up to Max. They looked at each other as Liz reached for his gun and took a step back and looked at the gun in her hand. It was a 9mm handgun and as she checked for bullets she found the gun was fully loaded, she raised her eyes to meet Max's who was looking at her.
"Liz what is going on?" Max asked.
Max there's trouble, Toney wants Maria and me to check your guns, make sure they are loaded and to make sure you have your protective vests on." Liz said.
"That doesn't sound good." Michael said.
"It's not. How many guns do you guys carry on you?" Liz asked.
"We carry four." Michael answered
"What about the protective vests? Do you still have them? Do you wear the vests at all?" Liz asked.
"Yes we still have the vests and yes we do wear them. Right now they're at the house," Max said.
"Can you both promise to wear them always?" Liz asked.
"Before we answer that you need to tell us, what is going on?" Max asked.
"Fine. There is a guy looking for the both of you. This guy is a wanted criminal and he is dangerous. Toney thinks he wants to kill you. That is why I asked about your guns and vests." Liz said.
"Wait, what?" Maria yelled

Chapter 60
"There is a man after Max and Michael," Liz said.
"Oh God. Who the hell is it? And what does he want?" Maria asked.
"I don't know Maria. All I know is what Toney told me and he wants us to make sure we both watch our backs."
"This is not good... I mean, what does he want Max and Michael for?" Maria asked.
"Who knows. But all I do know is Toney made this guy sound very dangerous,"
"Liz, Maria, we're going to be fine, nothing is going to happen to us so don't worry." Michael said.
"How can you say that to me? You're my boyfriend, of course I'm worried," Maria said.
"Maria I want to make sure you and Liz are safe. Max and i will handle this, so please stop worrying. I'm going to be around forever to protect you," Michael said.
"You promise? And you promise you and Max will not get hurt. You'll both be here for us?" Maria asked.
"Yes I promise Max and I will not get hurt and we'll be here for you both," Michael said.
While Michael and Maria were talking Max and Liz both felt uncomfortable watching them and the way they looked at each other. they watched as Michael touched and caressed Maria's cheek and how tenderly he kissed her.
Liz turned and walked out of the living room, through the kitchen and out the back door. She stood and looked up at the bright sky and then down to the pool and then started to walk toward it. She took a seat on the deck and dangled her feet in the water and then she felt a hand reach around her and when she looked up there was Max holding a beer out toward her. She stood up and took the beer from Max and they stared at each other for a moment and then Max turned around and looked toward the pool.
"Liz are you OK? Your too quiet," Max said.
"Max I think that guy i talked to and this new guy are the same or they are working together,"
"Why do you think that?"
"Because the guy I talked to said he wants revenge. And this new guy seems to be after you for something. But the question is why are they both after you?" Liz asked.
"I don't know. But whatever it is you and Maria need to stay out of it."
"Max, you know we want to help you. And that is what we plan to do."
"No, you can't. It's too dangerous,"
"I don't care, I want to help."
"Liz, I know you want to help and all, but you and Maria need to stay here and be safe."
"Why do you care what happens to me? I thought you hated me," Liz said.
"Liz, I don't hate you. You are my friend. And I don't want anything to happen to you,"
"Max, I feel the same way. You're a good guy. You need to let your friends help you,"
"I know, and I will. And you also need to let someone help you if you have problems. Remember, it works both ways,"
"You better remember that also."
"And what happens when I forget?" Max asked.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yeah, tell me,"
"This," Liz said as she pushed Max into the pool.
As Max fell into the pool he grabbed Liz and took her with him and as they both held their heads above water they looked at each other and Liz said...
"I can't believe you did that,"
"I can't believe you pushed me in either."
They both laughed at each other and then they started splashing each other and laughing and having a good time. They kept ducking each other as they continued laughing and then Max grabbed Liz's arm and as they gazed at each other Max reached his hand up and brushed Liz's hair away from her face. They leaned in and kissed, the kiss was soft and gentle and when they pulled away from each other all they could do was stare.
"Sorry, that should not have happened. We're supposed to be friends and you're with Toney," Max said.
"Um, lets forget about it. I need to get out." Liz said as she swam to the side of the pool.
"Um, yeah," Max agreed.
Liz raised herself out of the water and turned to look at Max.
"We better go inside,"
"Yeah, we'd better,"
When they got back into the house they found Michael and Maria asleep under a blanket on the couch and both of their tops draped over a chair...They looked at each other and then Liz said...
"Well um goodnight Max. I need to get some sleep. I guess I'll see you in the morning,"
Yeah, see you in the morning Liz."
Liz watched as Max walked up to the table next to the door and get his costumes. As he walked out the door Liz ran up the stairs to her room and watched Max cross the street from her bedroom window. When he was in his house she changed her clothes and crawled under the covers and went to sleep.
Meanwhile at Max and Michael's
When Max got home he went and stood at the window, looking out. He knew something was going to happen but he didn't know what or when. After he checked everything he went to bed and was asleep in a few seconds.
In the Morning
Liz awoke and sat up, looked around for a second and then got out of bed. She went to her closet and looked for something to wear and a few seconds later she found a denim skirt that ended at her knees and a navy blue short sleeve t-shirt. She then headed to the bathroom to shower before getting dressed and when she got downstairs she saw that Michael and Maria were still asleep so she headed to the kitchen where she found Max looking at a note. They stood looking at each other....
"Good morning Liz. I made coffee if you want some." Max said.
"Thanks. What are you looking at?"
"Oh, nothing," Max said.
"I can't believe you're lying to me. Why can't you tell me the truth?"
"And why can't you tell me what your father does for a living? And why he won't leave you and Maria alone?" Max asked
"I asked you first. What is going on with you?" Liz asked
"Nothing just leave it alone," Max said.
"And the same goes for your questions too," Liz said.
Liz reached up into the cupboard and grabbed a coffee cup, poured herself some coffee and turned and looked at Max.
"So... what are you going to do today?" Max asked.
"I'm going to the bar, alone," Liz said.
"Liz,I don't think that would be a good idea."
"Well Max, I don't care what you think. I'm doing what I want."
"Fine. I'll go with you,"
"Do whatever you want. I don't care,"
"Liz what is going on with you?"
"Max you need to realize that you have friends that want to help you. So you don't have to deal with this on your own," Liz said calmly
"Look, you know I want to handle this on my own, let it rest."
"Yeah, And what will happen if you get hurt. Wat are you going to do then? Who is going to help you then?"
"I'll call someone, so see, everything is under control, don't worry," Max assured her.
"Yeah, well we'll just have to wait and see about that," Liz said and she was getting angry again.
"Liz, we are safe," Max said in a calm voice.
"What is going on?" Michael said as he and Maria walked in the kitchen.
Liz and Max turned and saw Michael and Maria standing in front of the door

"I don't have time for this. Let Max tell you. I gotta go," Liz said as she walked out the door.
Liz walked into the hallway, grabbed her purse and walked out the door. She walked to her car, unlocked it, got in, and drove off. When she got to the bar and got in and was settled she started to clean.
Max, Maria and Michael all stood in shock back at the house...
"What was that all about?" Maria asked.
"I told Liz that I can handle things and if I need help I'll call someone. She didn't like that" Max said.
"Of course she didn't like it. God you think everything will be fine but you could be wrong. Someone could end up hurt or worse...even dead because you think people can handle things on their own." Maria said.
"OK, so Liz left because of what?" Michael asked.
"Liz left because she didn't want to listen... she told me she was going to the club, I told her I was going to go with her,she told me not to worry she can handle it on her own and she left." Max said.
"She told you the same thing you told her to see how you would react. Now maybe you can understand her a little more," Maria said.
"You know that's crazy." Michael said.
"Yeah, But it's the truth," Maria said.
"You know what? Liz is one crazy person. I don't understand her what so ever," Max said.
"Well maybe that's a good thing because if you did understand her this thing going on between the two of you would probably make you want to kill each other," Maria said.
"I guess so. But I know Liz knows how to drive me crazy. And she knows how to annoy the hell out of me," Max said.
Maria just smiled at Max.
"What are you smiling about?" Max asked.
"Because you do the same thing to Liz. That's why you both argue so much," Maria said.
"OK. No more talk about this. So what is going on today?" Max asked.
"that's easy, you and Michael are going to Toney's while I stay here and clean house," Maria said.
"Now just wait a minute," Michael said.
"No you both go. I'll see you later," Maria said as she pushed the guys out the door.
Maria shut the door behind them and the two men just looked at each other.
"Now what are we going to do?" Max asked
"Easy, lets go see what Toney has to say. And hopefully we'll come up with a plan," Michael said.
"Fine. But you know the girls need to stop this," Max said.
"I know but they just want to help. Which is a good thing sometime and other times not so good." Michael said.
"What about them trying to help us with this?" Max asked.
"I don't know what to think of it yet. But I know if we try and keep out of this they will try and find a way on their own." Michael said.
"Which is not a very good idea."
"Yeah, I agree with you. But What are we going to do about it?"
"I guess we'll have to find a way to let them help in some small way," Max said.
"Yeah, we will," Michael said.
They took Michael's car and drove drove to Toney's house and Michael parked in the driveway. When they got to the door they had to knock twice before someone came to the door and when the door opened they saw Alice dressed as a sexy salsa dancer.
"Oh, hey guys, what do you think of my costume?" Alice asked.
"Is that for the party?" Max asked.
"Of course it is. So what do you think? I made this all by myself," Alice said.
"I think it looks great on you," Max said.
"Yeah, I agree with Max. It looks great on you," Michael said.
"So do you know what Liz and Maria are dressing up as?" Alice asked.
"No. They want it to be a surprise. So we'll have to wait til the party to find out," Michael said.
"Wow. Hopefully you guys will be able wait that long," Alice said.
"Um, can we talk to Toney?" Max asked.
"Yes of course. He's in the living room. Come on in," Alice said.
The three of them walked into the house and down the hallway into the living room and saw Toney sitting on the couch watching TV...Toney turned to see who was at the door...
"Hey guys. We need to have a talk." Toney said.
"What is going on?" Max asked.
"There is a new guy in town. He wants both of you to pay for something. But no one knows who the guy is. And what you guys have to pay for." Toney said.
"Great we've got two guys that are here to make us pay for something we did but we don't know what we did," Michael said.
"This is starting to get dangerous, but how are we going to find these guys?" Max asked
"Something tells me they are going to find us...so we need to be ready for when they show up," Michael said.
"Where is Liz and Maria right now?" Toney asked.
"Liz is at the club, we got into an argument and she wanted to be alone," Max said.
"What about Maria? Where is she ?" Toney asked.
"She is at her house cleaning," Michael said.
"OK. So they both are in different places. Hopefully we can keep them safe," Toney said.
"Do you think those guys will use the girls to get to us?" Max asked.
"It could happen. But we don't know for sure," Toney said.
"So its better that they are safe now than hurt later," Max said.
"Yeah, we need to call and check on them and make sure that they are OK," Toney said.
Max reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He dialed Liz's cell number. The phone rang three times before she answered.
Meanwhile at the club:
Liz was behind the bar when her cell phone started to ring and she reached into her pocket, got her phone and put it to her ear...
"Hello?"
"Liz it's Max. We just talked to Toney. He thinks that it is two guys and that they will try to use you and Maria against us So they can get what they want," Max said.
"Max do any of you know what they want?" Liz asked.
"No.. We're going to try and find out and hopefully it will be soon. You and Maria need to be on your guard in case they come after you both." Max said.
"Max, don't worry Maria and I will be OK." Liz said.
Just then Liz looked up and saw two guys walk into the club... she knew these guys were different from the usual customer and was probably looking for Max and Michael.She recognized the one guy from the other night when he was talking to her. She kept looking between the two men and then she lowered her hand with the phone in it to make sure Max could hear her.
"What is going on?" Max asked .
"Who are you guys and what do you want?" Liz asked.
"Well hello again. Do you know where Max and Michael are?" The guy asked.
"No... I don't know where they are. I'll tell them you were looking for them though." Liz said.
"I'm sure you will and will you give them a message for me?" The one guy asked.
"Sure. What is the message for them?" Liz asked.
"This," The guy said as he slapped Liz hard across the face.
Liz fell to the floor. The guy walked behind the counter and pulled Liz up and when they were face to face the guy slapped Liz hard across the face again, three times. Then he grabbed her arm and twisted it a little and Liz looked up at the guy...
"Tell Max I'll make him pay for what he did. And he knows the pain he has caused me." The guy said.
Then the two men walked walked out of the club. Liz stood up and watched as they drove off, she ran to the door and locked it and stepped back from the door and then she fell to the floor, fainting.
A few minutes later Max and Michael were at the club, as they looked through the club windows they saw Liz was passed out on the floor. Max reached into his pocket and grabbed a lock pick. he took the pick and started working on the lock. A few seconds later Max and Michael were in the club.
Max walked up to Liz and checked for a pulse. He shook Liz trying to wake her up, it took a few minutes and then Liz woke up and saw Max leaning over her.
"What happened? Where am I?" Liz asked

Chapter 61
"I don't have time for this. Let Max tell you. I gotta go," Liz said as she walked out the door.
Liz walked into the hallway, grabbed her purse and walked out the door. She walked to her car, unlocked it, got in, and drove off. When she got to the bar and got in and was settled she started to clean.
Max, Maria and Michael all stood in shock back at the house...
"What was that all about?" Maria asked.
"I told Liz that I can handle things and if I need help I'll call someone. She didn't like that" Max said.
"Of course she didn't like it. God you think everything will be fine but you could be wrong. Someone could end up hurt or worse...even dead because you think people can handle things on their own." Maria said.
"OK, so Liz left because of what?" Michael asked.
"Liz left because she didn't want to listen... she told me she was going to the club, I told her I was going to go with her,she told me not to worry she can handle it on her own and she left." Max said.
"She told you the same thing you told her to see how you would react. Now maybe you can understand her a little more," Maria said.
"You know that's crazy." Michael said.
"Yeah, But it's the truth," Maria said.
"You know what? Liz is one crazy person. I don't understand her what so ever," Max said.
"Well maybe that's a good thing because if you did understand her this thing going on between the two of you would probably make you want to kill each other," Maria said.
"I guess so. But I know Liz knows how to drive me crazy. And she knows how to annoy the hell out of me," Max said.
Maria just smiled at Max.
"What are you smiling about?" Max asked.
"Because you do the same thing to Liz. That's why you both argue so much," Maria said.
"OK. No more talk about this. So what is going on today?" Max asked.
"that's easy, you and Michael are going to Toney's while I stay here and clean house," Maria said.
"Now just wait a minute," Michael said.
"No you both go. I'll see you later," Maria said as she pushed the guys out the door.
Maria shut the door behind them and the two men just looked at each other.
"Now what are we going to do?" Max asked
"Easy, lets go see what Toney has to say. And hopefully we'll come up with a plan," Michael said.
"Fine. But you know the girls need to stop this," Max said.
"I know but they just want to help. Which is a good thing sometime and other times not so good." Michael said.
"What about them trying to help us with this?" Max asked.
"I don't know what to think of it yet. But I know if we try and keep out of this they will try and find a way on their own." Michael said.
"Which is not a very good idea."
"Yeah, I agree with you. But What are we going to do about it?"

"Liz I think you passed out. Why are you in the office laying on the couch, are you OK?" Max asked.
"I'm fine. You heard what he said didn't you?"
"Yes, I heard everything. God I'm sorry that this happened to you. What did he do to you?" Max asked.
"He just slapped me very hard a couple of times and twisted my arm. Whoever these guys are Max they are very dangerous."
"That would be my guess also." Max said.
"Where is Michael?"
"He's checking on Maria to make sure she's."
"God. I hope she is. Max, those guys might know we are friends, what are we going to do?"
"I promise I'm going to keep them away from you, I'll keep you safe."
"How are you going to do that? These men probably know where you live and where you work."
"I don't know yet, I'll think of something, so please don't worry?"
"Max, don't you think it's kinda late for that,"
"It's never too late."
A few minutes later Michael and Maria walked into the club and saw Max and Liz sitting in a booth, they walked up to the booth and sat down and Liz asked Maria

"Did Michael tell you what happened?"
"No. What happened?" Maria asked.
"Two guys walked into the club asking for Max and Michael. I told them that they weren't here and asked them if they wanted to leave them a message and that I would make sure they got it. Then one of the guys slapped me a couple of times, then he comes behind the counter, picks me up and slaps me a couple more times and they leave. After they left I guess I fainted and when I woke up Max was leaning over me.
"Wow... this is getting really bad! What are we going to do? The Halloween party is in three days, How are we going to stay safe?" Maria asked.
"Don't worry. Everything will be fine. You girls can't go anywhere alone for a while." Michael said.
"You know this is going to be kinda hard when we live in different houses," Max said.
"No it won't. I have an idea we could try." Maria said.
"What's your idea?" Max asked.
"Easy Max, you and Liz stay at our house. While Michael and I stay at your place."
"And how is this going to help?" Max asked
"Well, you'll be able to stay with Liz and protect her. You'll know that Liz is safe." Maria said.
"Well, we can try it out and see how it goes but I think it's a bad idea." Max said.
"Why is it a bad idea?" Liz asked.
"Because we don't know who those guys are after and I don't think this will help," Max said.
"We'll try this for a week to see what happens, and If it doesn't work then we'll all move in together." Liz said.
"Okay, this week will be a test run to see how it goes." Max said.
"Hopefully it will work and everyone will get along," Maria said.
"Yeah, that should be interesting," Michael said.
Liz turned and looked at Michael.
"Yeah, lets hope no one gets hurt. I'm tired... I'm leaving," Liz said.
The other three looked at each other.
"You know if Liz and I can handle this week, the way we argue, then everything is sure to be fine ." Max said.
"Yeah, we'll have to wait and see how this plays out." Michael said.
"Keep your fingers crossed for us. Hopefully she won't throw things." Max said.
"Liz only throws things when she's mad. Right now she is just upset," Maria said.
"That doesn't help me any, Liz gets mad over weird things." Max said.
"Well here is your chance to get to know her a little better, you'd better get to her house because we're leaving too," Michael said.
When Max, Maria and Michael got outside they saw that Liz was gone already. Michael locked up the club and the three of them walked over to Michael's car and got in. They drove to Maria's house first and all went in and found Liz asleep on the couch so Maria led the two men into the kitchen and said,
"Michael come with me and help me pack a weeks worth of clothes. I'm going to take my costume with me. Max you better go home and get clothes and whatever else you will need for a week, We'll meet back here in 30 minutes."
"OK. I'll be back soon, it shouldn't take me long." Max said as he headed to the front door leaving Maria and Michael in the kitchen.
After Max left Maria and Michael headed upstairs to her room to gather the things she would need for the week and when they came back downstairs they found Max sitting in the living room where Liz was still sleeping.
"Are you guys leaving?" Max asked.
"Yeah, we're going to go now. We'll see you later," Michael said.
"OK. Have fun," Max said.
"Try to stay around Liz," Michael said.
"You know I will." Max said.
"Yeah, hopefully you'll be fine together and not argue too much." Maria said.
"Yeah, let's hope so." Max said.
Max watched as Michael and Maria left the house and then he stood and grabbed a blanket and covered Liz up. He made sure she was alright and then went to the kitchen to get himself a Pepsi from the fridge and headed back to the living room.
When he got back to the living room he noticed the blanket laying on the living floor and Liz was still sound asleep. He bent over and retrieved the blanket and covered her up again and then he reached over and brushed her hair out of her face. He noticed her eyes open for a minuted and they looked at each other and then Liz turned away and went back to sleep. Max made himself comfortable on the love seat, found a movie on the TV and soon he was asleep also.
A few minutes later Liz woke up and looked around. She saw the TV was on and she sat up and saw Max fast asleep on the love seat. She stood up and walked to the the end of the couch, reached down and grabbed a blanket and covered Max up. After she covered Max she walked back to the couch and laid down and it wasn't long before she was asleep again.
Meanwhile at Michael's place:
It didn't take Michael and Maria very long to fall fast asleep after a makeout session and soon they both were dreaming about each other.
And at Toney's:
Toney and Alice were in Toney's bed having sex. They both screamed each others name as they came and soon Alice slept in Toney's arms. Toney and Alice were glad that no one knew that they were lovers.
In the Morning:
When Liz woke up she sat up and looked around... she saw Max was still asleep so she got up and quietly walked out of the living room and headed upstairs to her bedroom. A few seconds later she found a pair of hip hugger jeans and a blue and white t-shirt to wear. She headed to the bathroom for a shower and then put her clean clothes on. After she was dressed she made her way back down the stair and headed to the kitchen where she made some coffee and breakfast. Then she went into the living room with the coffee and set it on the coffee table and touched Max on the shoulder and gave him a little shake. Max turned and looked at Liz and then he pulled her down to him and kissed her. The kiss was hot and steamy and after the kiss they just laid there looking at each other.
Chapter 62

Max finally woke up and saw Liz looking at him with a weird look on her face, he couldn't figure out what happened but he could tell Liz was shocked.
"Liz what's is wrong?"
"Um, nothing, here's some coffee and toast I made for you."
"Thank you. That's very nice of you."
Max said as he sat up...he took a drink of his coffee and ate a piece of the toast and watched Liz sitting across from him with a confused look on his face.
"So what are you up to today?" Max asked.
"I was thinking of going to the club.What about you?" Liz returned...
"I'll go to the club with you," Max said.
"OK. So, um, are you ready for the Halloween party?"
"Yeah, I hope it turns out to be fun and there's no trouble." Max said.
"Oh yeah, me too, a good party and no trouble. But only time will tell." Liz said.
"Um... just let me take a shower and get changed, it will only take me a few minutes then we can leave." Max said.
"OK. I'll just make sure everything is ready to go by the time you're out of the shower," Liz said.
" OK." Max said.
Liz turned and watched as Max took his bag and headed upstairs to the shower and then she walked over to the window, pulled back the curtains and there she noticed a black van parked next door to Michael's. She reached into her pocket immediately and dialed Michael's number...the phone rang three times before Michael answered.
"Hello?" Michael asked.
"Michael this is Liz. I need you to do me a huge favor."
"Liz? What is it?" Michael asked.
"Look out your window at your neighbors house. You will see a black van,tell me if you know it?" Liz asked.
"Sure hold on and let me check," Michael said.
Michael got out of the bed and walked to the window, pulled the curtains back and looked down and saw the van Liz was talking about.
"No. That's not their van," Michael said.
"Michael do me a favor and watch the van,"
"What are you up to Liz?"
"Just wait a minute!" Liz said.
"Liz what are you going to do?"
"You'll see," Liz said as she walked into the kitchen and grabbed a banana.
She walked out the door and across the street, looked around and then bent down and put the banana and a smoke bomb into the tailpipe of the van. She lit the smoke bomb and ran back to her house. When she got back to her house Max was coming down stairs and Liz's cell phone started to ring, she smiled and answered it.
"Hey what happened after I left?" Liz asked.
"Nothing. No one left the van at all," Michael said.
"Will you keep an eye out and let me know what happens when we leave?" Liz asked.
"Yeah, sure. Does Max know what you did? And what you are up too?" Michael asked.
"No, But I promise I'll tell him though,"
"Good . Because you're probably going to need his help," Michael said.
"Yeah, That's probably true,"
"What is going on?" Max asked
" I'll tell you once we get to the club. Are you ready to go?" Liz asked.
"Yeah, sure, lets go," Max said.
Max and Liz grabbed their things, Max held the door for Liz and then they headed to the car and got in. While they were driving to the club Liz took her cell phone out dialed Michael's number again.
"Hello." Michael said.
"Have they left yet?" Liz asked.
"No, Something is wrong with their car," Michael said.
"Oh really, do tell," Liz said with a smile on her face.
"Well the banana and the smoke bomb you put in their tail pipe is making them think that there is a bomb in the car," Michael said.
"Good. Will you please let me know what happens?" Liz asked.
"Sure. Question. Where did you learn to do that?" Michael asked.
"Maria and I had to do that when we were trying to get away from my father." Liz said.
"Boy it seems that you and Maria did that a lot," Michael said.
"Oh maybe a couple of hundred times," Liz said.
"Where are you and Max?" Michael asked.
"We're going to the club. I just wanted to get out of the house," Liz said.
"I don't blame you there?" Michael said.
"What are you and Maria going to do today?" Liz asked.
"Oh we're going to hang around the house here. And plus I want to find out who and what these guys are after," Michael said.
"I don't blame you. But you need to make sure that Maria is safe. She'll want to help," Liz said.
"Liz don't worry I'll make sure that Maria is safe. All you and Max need to do is keep yourselves safe," Michael said.
"Don't worry Max and I are OK. Even though Max doesn't know it." Liz said.
"Are you going to tell him," Michael asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to tell him when we get to the club."Liz said.
"Hey Maria wants to know if you are ready for tomorrow night's party?"Michael asked.
"Yeah, tell her we're ready. I'm hoping to get a few things finished at the club first though." Liz said.
"Yeah, That is understandable," Michael said.
"Are you going to let Toney know what is going on?" Liz asked.
" I don't know. Right now the men are still here. They're looking through the van to see if they can find out what happened," Michael said.
"Good. I hope they never figure it out," Liz said.
"Liz what the hell is going on? And what the hell are you and Michael talking about?" Max asked.
" I'll tell you when we are in the club. And Michael and I are just talking," Liz said.
"Let me guess. Max wants to know what's going on?" Michael asked.
"Yeah he does," Liz said.

"No. Max is driving slow and I keep looking behind us to see if we're being followed but there is still no one following us. Hold on for a minute," Liz said.
"Max, how long til we get to the club?" Liz asked.
"We should be there in 5 minutes," Max said.
"Oh. OK," Liz said.
When Liz put the phone back to her ear all she could hear was kissing and moaning. She held the phone away from her and looked at it strangely and when she looked up again they were at the club.
"Liz what the hell is going on? Max asked
"Max please can we get into the club before you start asking questions?"
"Fine, Lets go inside and talk," Max said.
Max and Liz got out of the car and stood looking at each other and when Liz turned to look behind her she saw a car speeding toward them and as she turned the car hit Max's side. Liz ran to the other side of the car and saw Max laying on the ground. She turned and saw the car driving away and then she leaned over Max and looked at him.
"Max, Please wake up? Please be OK?" Liz asked as her eyes were watering.
Chapter 63
Max finally woke up and saw Liz looking at him with a weird look on her face, he couldn't figure out what happened but he could tell Liz was shocked.
"Liz what's is wrong?"
"Um, nothing, here's some coffee and toast I made for you."
"Thank you. That's very nice of you."
Max said as he sat up...he took a drink of his coffee and ate a piece of the toast and watched Liz sitting across from him with a confused look on his face.
"So what are you up to today?" Max asked.
"I was thinking of going to the club.What about you?" Liz returned...
"I'll go to the club with you," Max said.
"OK. So, um, are you ready for the Halloween party?"
"Yeah, I hope it turns out to be fun and there's no trouble." Max said.
"Oh yeah, me too, a good party and no trouble. But only time will tell." Liz said.
"Um... just let me take a shower and get changed, it will only take me a few minutes then we can leave." Max said.
"OK. I'll just make sure everything is ready to go by the time you're out of the shower," Liz said.
" OK." Max said.
Liz turned and watched as Max took his bag and headed upstairs to the shower and then she walked over to the window, pulled back the curtains and there she noticed a black van parked next door to Michael's. She reached into her pocket immediately and dialed Michael's number...the phone rang three times before Michael answered.
"Hello?" Michael asked.
"Michael this is Liz. I need you to do me a huge favor."
"Liz? What is it?" Michael asked.
"Look out your window at your neighbors house. You will see a black van,tell me if you know it?" Liz asked.
"Sure hold on and let me check," Michael said.

Chapter 64
Liz looked down at Max through her tears... watching as he laid there, she checked to see if he had a pulse. A few seconds later Max opened his eyes and saw Liz crying, he reached up and brushed her tears away and Liz grabbed his hand as she saw him looking at her and they both smiled.
"Why are you crying?" Max asked.
"I thought you were dead...I'm so glad you're okay."
"Liz, I'm fine."
"Good, please don't ever do this to me again."
"Liz I promise I'll do my best not to do this again, I swear." and Max smiled at her.
" Good. Now come on lets get off this ground and get inside the club." Liz said.
Max stood up and looked around to see if he could see the car but it was gone then he turned and saw Liz looking at him. He held his hand out to Liz and she took it and Max led her into the club. When they were safely in the club Liz turned and locked the door then looked at Max.
"Max are you sure your OK?" Liz asked.
"Liz, I'm fine. I just wish I knew who was driving that car." Max said.
"God Max you scared me. I don't know what is going on but I wish I did." Liz said.
"Me and you both."
"Max, are you going to tell Michael about this?"
"No I'm not going to tell Michael... I'm going to try and find out on my own. I don't want you, Michael or Maria getting hurt." Max said.
"I think you should tell Michael what is going on. He can help you."
"No. I want to do this on my own,"
"Max, whatever is going on is starting to get more dangerous. What happens if you get hurt or worse?" Liz asked
"Liz don't worry, I can handle this on my own. You, Michael and Maria need to stay safe."
"Max you know we want you to be safe too,"
"Liz, you need to stop worrying. Tell me what happened this morning?"
"There was a black van across the street from my house. I called Michael to take a look at it; I told him I had a plan. He asked what kind of a plan and I told him to wait and see. I grabbed a banana and a smoke bomb and when I got to the van I put the banana in first then lit the smoke bomb then I put it in with the banana and walked away. You know the rest." Liz said.
"You really did that?"
"Yes. That is what I did. Why?"
"Well... I think that was good thinking."
"Really?"
"Yes, really Liz, that gave us a few minutes to get away," Max said as he hugged her.
Liz pushed Max away and turned and walked up to the bar. Max walked up behind Liz and touched her on the shoulder. When Liz turned around Max saw that she had a tear running down her check. He brushed the tear away and kept his hand on her cheek and Liz raised her hand and touched Max's hand
"Liz why did you walk away? And why are you crying?" Max asked.
" I don't know what to think about you and I'm crying is because of yesterday," Liz said.
"What did I do yesterday?" Max asked.
"Max, you kissed me. I know you were half asleep but you kissed me OK. That's why I'm a little weird around you right now. Can you understand that?" Liz asked.
"Yeah I understand and I'm sorry I kissed you."
"Whatever... all I know is we have to stop whoever is doing this and if you say you will handle it you're going to be sorry." Liz said.
"Liz. I m going to take care of it. So don't worry. Everything is going to be fine,"
Liz got mad and punched Max in the face and then punched him in the stomach. She walked away from him and walked into the office and slammed the door.
Meanwhile in the club:
Max walked to the mirror and saw that his eye was turning black and he had a bloody lip. He shook his head in surprise he didn't know she knew how to fight and to protect herself but he still knew he needed to make sure she was going to be safe from whatever was going on. He walked up to the fridge and made an ice pack for his eye and then he went to check on Liz. He walked down the hallway and stopped at the office door and knocked he waited a few minutes then walked in only to find that Liz was asleep.
Max walked up to Liz and touched her on the shoulder gently and Liz opened her eyes and looked up at Max...
"Oh God. Did I do that to you?" Liz asked.
"Yes, you did...I think you are a dangerous person when someone pisses you off." Max said.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Liz asked.
"That is a very good thing." Max said.
"Are you in a lot of pain?" Liz asked.
"Liz it's my face that hurts. Hopefully Eric has something here to help." Max said.
"Here let me help you look," Liz said as she stood up.
She walked into the bathroom and checked in the medicine cabinet, there was three shelves of medicine so she checked them all out and found a bottle of pain killers and when she turned she saw Max standing in the doorway.
"Did you find anything?" Max asked.
"All I found is some pain killers, will they work?" Liz asked.
"Yeah they'll help, I should I take two now then when we get to your house I'll have two more before I go to bed," Max said.
"Um, sure. What will these do to you?"
"They'll make me really sleepy. But they'll stop the pain too."
"Fine. But if you act weird I'll have the right to hit you, OK?" Liz asked.
"Yes. You have my permission to hit me. But not too hard."
"Fine."
Liz walked past Max and went to the window to look outside. Max watched her as she stood there looking and then he walked up to the window and stood next to her.
"Liz what is wrong?" Max asked.
"Just between you and me right?" Liz asked.
"Yeah, anything you have to say is between us." Max said.
"I think Toney is sleeping with Alice." Liz said.
"How do you know that?" Max asked.
"Because,since Alice showed up Toney and I have not gone out on a single date and he is spending all of his time with Alice." Liz said.
"Liz, nothing is going on between Toney and Alice. Alice is still mourning her dead boyfriend,"
"Max, if something was going on you would tell me right?"
"Yes of course I would."
"Thanks."
"We'd better go home. Tomorrow is the party and we need to get some rest."
"Yeah, I agree."
Max and Liz left the club, Max locking up after they went out and then they drove the few minutes that it took to get home. When they entered the house they noticed that every thing was clean and in order and then Liz noticed that it was midnight. Liz turned toward Max and said...
"Well um, I'd better go get some sleep. See you in the morning."
"Um, yeah. I'm going to sleep down here. I'll see you in the morning,"
"Good night," Liz said as she headed upstairs.
She went down the hallway to her room and got her nightgown and headed to the bathroom for a shower. She got undressed and made sure the water was the right temperature before stepping in under the spray...after washing her hair and her body she grabbed a towel and dried her hair and then another to dry her body...she got dressed and when she opened the bathroom door Max was standing there, they stood and looked at each other.

Chapter 64

"Max what are you doing?" Liz asked
"I just wanted to check up on you."
"Well I'm fine. I was just going to bed,"
"OK then,Good night."
"Yeah, Um good night," she said as she passed Max and walked down the hallway and noticed that Max was walking with her...when she reached her door she turned and looked at Max and said,
"See you in the morning Max."
"Yeah, see you in the morning."
She watched as Max walked back down the hallway and when he had disappeared she went into her room, shut the door and crawled into bed. Before long she was fast asleep.
Meanwhile down stairs in the living room Max looked around for a minute then got himself a blanket, took a pill that was laying on the table and laid down and went to sleep.
Liz didn't wake up until one o'clock the next afternoon...she sat up in bed and looked around around for a minute and then decided to get up. She went to her closet to find a change of clothes and headed for the bathroom to take her shower. When she returned to her room she put the jean skirt and tank top on and then she made her bed and cleaned her room up a little. After she finished her chores she headed downstairs and went to the kitchen. Max was in the kitchen making coffee and she just stood there watching him until he turned around a looked at her.
"Hey, I didn't know if you were up or not yet," Max said
"As you can see I am." Liz replied
"Yeah, sorry."
"That's no problem,"
"I can't believe we slept this late," Max said.
"Yeah, I know. We both must have been tired."
"Yeah, must have."
"So, have you heard from Michael and Maria?"
"No. I'm guessing that they both want to sleep in a little."
"Yeah, they probably do. So what are we going to do?" Liz asked.
"We are going to relax and watch some movies before the party."
"That sounds like a good idea."
Max and Liz grabbed their cups of coffee and walked into the living room.Liz walked up to the DVD shelf and picked 2 movies while Max picked 2 movies. Max took the movies out of Liz's hand and put them back. Liz looked at Max and then turned and went to sit down in the living room. Max grabbed the first movie and put it into the DVD Player then turned and sat down next to Liz. The first movie they watched was "2012".They both watched the movie without saying a word to each other and after the movie was over Max stood up and walked up to the DVD player and exchanged "2012" for the remake of "Nightmare on Elm Street" He sat down and pushed play on the remote and then they both fell sleep in the middle of the movie.
When Liz woke up she noticed it was 8:00 p.m., she turned and woke Max up. He awoke with a start and looked at Liz puzzled.
"What?" He asked.
"Come on we need to get ready for the party. We need to leave here in 30 minutes."
"Oh shit," Max said as he stood up and walked to the hall closet.
Max came back a few seconds later with a bag in his hand. He went to the down stairs bathroom to get changed and Liz ran upstairs to her room to change into her costume. Ten minutes later Liz came down stairs wearing a cape over her costume and Max was still in the bathroom. It took him twenty minutes to get out of the bathroom.
When Max walked out of the bathroom Liz saw him dressed as a biker.
"What are you wearing?" Max asked.
"You'll find out later." Liz said.
"OK. Are you ready to go then?"
"Yes lets rock." Liz said with a smile on her face.
Max and Liz walked to the door and headed for Max's car. As they drove they both looked out the windows at all of the Halloween decorated houses and when they got to Toney's it was all decorated to look really creepy. Max parked the car in a spot up the driveway where they could easily get out if they needed to.
When they got to the front door Max knocked and a big burly guy let them in. Max took Liz by the hand and led her to the bar and while they waited for their drink they started to look around, checking out all of the people.
"Do you think Michael and Maria are here?" Liz asked.
"I hope so. Because if not this is going to be very boring." Max said.
"Yeah, it sure looks like it."
"Liz do you want me to take your cape?" Max asked.
"Yeah, sure." Liz said as he took her cape off.
When he saw what Liz was wearing his mouth dropped to the floor. He couldn't believe she was dressed as a very hot, sexy, french maid. Liz turned and saw Max staring at her.
"What?" Liz asked.
"Um, wow, you look. wow!" Max gulped.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Liz asked.
"That is a very good thing," Max said.
"I think we better split up and look for Michael and Maria don't you think?" Liz said.
"Yeah, we should, I just hope we can find them. We meet back here in 20 minutes OK."
"OK," Liz said.
Liz checked the living rooms and dining rooms while Max checked in the kitchen and out back. Finally he found them and they went back into the kitchen and headed to the bar to wait for Liz. A few minutes later Liz walked back to the bar and saw the three of them standing there talking.she walked up to Maria and tapped her on the shoulder. When Maria turned and saw Liz they both hugged each other. Michael saw what Liz was wearing and he was shocked to say the least.
"I'm so glad you're here," Maria said.
"Me too. I can't believe how crazy it's getting." Liz said.
"I have a feeling it will be a zoo soon." Maria said.
"Yeah I agree with you there," Liz said.
Maria, Liz, Max and Michael looked around and laughed. They were having a great time. Liz turned and saw 2 naked men walking by.
"You know for a thin guys their manhoods are the size of our pinkies," Liz said.
Max and Michael chocked on their beers and they both looked at Liz and Maria. They could not believe that Liz had said that. The girls turned and looked at Max and Michael...
"Are you both OK?" Maria asked.
"Um we're fine. We were just talking," Michael said.
"Oh OK.I'm going to try and find Toney," Liz said before walking away.
Max watched as Liz walked away..he just knew this was going to be a weird night. Liz walked through the living room and headed up the stairs and down the hall. She checked the rooms as she walked by and then walked up to Toney's door and didn't hear anything. She opened the door and didn't see Toney anywhere. She shut the door and walked to Alice's room next...she stood next to the door and listened, she didn't hear anything in there either so she opened the door and saw that no one was in the room. Liz shut the door and continued up the hallway...she just couldn't figure out where Toney and Alice could be. She decided to go and check Toney's office. When she walked down the stairs and down the hallway past the living room guy's were grabbing Liz's hand and she kept jerking it away. Liz looked into the rooms as she walked by and when she finally got to the office door she heard...
" Are you going to tell Liz about us?" that was Alice's voice.
" I think she should know," that was Toney...
"Why? It's more fun this way." Alice again...
"Alice, it's not fun. We are sleeping together. I don't want to hurt Liz." Toney said.
"Fine. But question... is that for me what you have in your pants?" Alice asked.
"Oh baby you know it is," Toney said.
Toney and Alice leaned in and kissed and while they were kissing Alice unbuttoned and unzipped his pants. After his pants were undone Alice pushed his boxers down and freed his manhood and Toney took off Alice's underwear. Toney pulled Alice on top of him. He entered her in one quick movement. As they moved against each other neither noticed the door open nor did they see Liz standing in the doorway watching.

Chapter: 65
"Max what are you doing?" Liz asked
"I just wanted to check up on you."
"Well I'm fine. I was just going to bed,"
"OK then,Good night."
"Yeah, Um good night," she said as she passed Max and walked down the hallway and noticed that Max was walking with her...when she reached her door she turned and looked at Max and said,
"See you in the morning Max."
"Yeah, see you in the morning."
She watched as Max walked back down the hallway and when he had disappeared she went into her room, shut the door and crawled into bed. Before long she was fast asleep.
Meanwhile down stairs in the living room Max looked around for a minute then got himself a blanket, took a pill that was laying on the table and laid down and went to sleep.

Liz was shocked by what she saw, she turned and ran down the hallway and looked around for Max or Michael and didn't see either. She walked up to the bar and fixed herself a triple shot of bourbon. By the time Max found her she had one triple bourbon and a beer. He walked up to and asked...
"Liz what is wrong?"
"Nothing a few drinks won't fix," she blurted out.
"Liz, this is not you. What happened? what's wrong?"
"Max, you don't know my life...I don't want to talk about it."
"Come on, let's go get some fresh air,"
Max grabbed Liz and walked her through the dining room and kitchen towards the kitchen door. He opened the door and walked them outside where Liz pulled away from him and ran to the railing. Max stood behind Liz and rubbed her back while she cried and a few minutes later Liz turned and her make up was smeared all down her face. Max grabbed a paper towel and helped Liz clean up when she stopped crying... Liz looked at Max and he said,
"Please tell me what's wrong?"
"Max can we please leave? I don't want to be here,"
"Sure. Come on lets go." .
Max led Liz down the porch steps to the front of the house and over to his car. He helped Liz in and then shut the car door when he knew she was secure and got in on the drivers side.
"Where do you want to go?" Max asked.
"I don't want to go home," Liz said.
"I know a place. We'll call Michael when we get there," Max said.
Max started the car and drove out of the driveway then headed out of town. He noticed that Liz was still upset as he made a right hand turn towards a wooded area and soon he came to a house nestled among the trees. Liz turned and looked at Max and he smiled at her before he got out of the car and went around to the passenger side to help her out. He took her by the hand and led her to the front door where he unlocked the door and walked them in. Max turned on the lights and Liz was shocked. Max walked Liz through the house, he showed her the kitchen and living room before taking her out to the back porch. When they walked out onto the porch they were looking right at the ocean. Liz turned and looked at Max.
"Wow you have an ocean as your back yard!" Liz exclaimed.
"It's good to come here and think sometimes," Max said.
"This is very nice."
"I'm glad you like it, come on lets go inside."
"Um, yeah OK," Liz said.
When they got back to the living room Liz took a seat on the couch and Max sat next to her...
"I better call Michael and let him know where we are," Max said.
As Max was about to call Michael his cell phone started ringing...he opened it and put it to his ear.
"Hello?" Max asked.
"Hey man where are you and Liz? Toney and Alice are asking about both of you," Michael asked.
"Where are Toney and Alice right now?" Max asked.
"Somewhere in the house looking for the both of you. Why what's wrong?" Michael asked as he looked at Maria.
"Liz and I had to leave. Something upset her. Don't worry we're fine, we'll be home soon. Just tell Toney Liz needed to get away. And she'll be home soon."
"Are you sure your OK? You sound a little down."
"Yeah I'm fine. I better go, talk to you later,"
"Yeah, later." Michael said.
Michael turned and looked at Maria and Maria could tell immediately that something was wrong. Right at that moment Toney and Alice walked up to them and they both turned at that time and saw Toney and Alice standing in front of them.
"So where are Max and Liz? Are they coming back?" Toney asked.
"Um, they went for a drive. They needed to get some air. Max didn't know when they were coming back," Michael said.
"What is going on?" Alice asked
"Liz got, or she is, upset about something. So Max took her to get some air," Michael said.
"Well I hope everything is OK and I hope they'll be back soon." Alice said.
"You know they will... Max and Liz are good friends, maybe they just need to talk about some things," Michael said.
"Yeah that's true," Maria said.
"Yeah. Well we'd better go and mingle with the guests. They'll probably come home soon," Toney said.
Maria and Michael watched Toney and Alice and they both knew something was going on but they weren't sure what it could be. They continued to watch Toney and Alice all throughout the party and they noticed that they would leave every 30 minutes or so and they were kissing on the dance floor. And then Michael and Maria looked at each other and they both knew that Toney and Alice were sleeping together. When the party came to an end Michael and Maria watched everyone as they walked out of the house and then Michael and Maria left. They both got into the car and Toney walked up to them and said
"Hey, when you talk to Max will you find out when they are coming back."
"Um, yeah sure," Michael said.
Michael started his car and drove home and when they got home they went straight to their rooms, changed clothes and went to bed.

Meanwhile at Max's hideaway:
Max didn't know what to do about Liz. He sat on the table across form Liz and they both looked at each other'
"Liz please tell me what's wrong?"
"If I tell you. You can't tell anyone."
"I promise. Now Please tell me?"
"Max, I caught Toney and Alice having sex. They are sleeping together."
"Wait you caught them how?"
"Max, I walked in on them."
"I'm sorry you saw them."
"Max I don't know what to do. Should I talk to him?"
"You need to think about it. I know you're confused. I would be too,"
"Max, I'm not confused. But can I tell you something just between us?"
"You can tell me anything and it will stay between us."
"Max, I'm not in love with Toney. All I ever felt was that I liked him. And I think that is what he feels about me."
"Well I understand that you and Toney only went out three times and neither of you ever kissed like you wanted more," Max said.
"Thanks for understanding. I, um,I'm tired. Do you have something I can Change into?" Liz asked.
"Sure, let me go to my room and find you something." Max said.
"OK. I'll stay right here,"
Liz watched as Max went into the other room. A few minutes later he came back carrying a pair of shorts and a short sleeved shirt he handed her the clothes and Liz looked at Max with a great big questioning look on her face...
"You can change in the bedroom. Here I'll show you where it is." Max said.
Max took Liz by the hand and pulled her up from her place on the couch and walked her to the bedroom. He shut the door behind him and headed back to the living room to think. Liz looked around then set the clothes down on the bed and when she had changed her clothes she set her costume on a chair in the corner. She made her way back to the living room where she found Max sitting and looking puzzled. Max looked up and saw Liz looking at him.
"Liz you can sleep in the bedroom. I'll sleep out here on the couch," Max said.
"Max... can you do me, um, a favor? Without taking it the wrong way." Liz asked.
"Sure what is it?" Max asked.
"Max can you please sleep with me in the bed?"
"Um, sure," Max said.
Max and Liz walked to the bedroom and Liz went and laid down under the covers while Max laid above the covers. They both fell fast asleep.

Max and Liz walked to the bedroom and Liz went and laid down under the covers while Max laid above the covers. They both fell fast asleep.

Chapter 67
Max awoke in the middle of the night only to find that he and Liz were face to face and he had his hand on her waist, he smiled before going back to sleep.
In the morning:
When Max woke up Liz was sleep in his arms and he watched her sleeping peacefully. He slowly raised his hand to move Liz's hair away from her face and he thought that she was absolutely beautiful. She was also fun to be around and to talk to when they weren't arguing and he knew that he didn't want anything to happen to her; that he needed to protect her at all costs. He realized then and there that he cared for her very much and at that moment she started to wake up. When she opened her eyes and saw where she was they both smiled at each other and Max asked...
"So how are you feeling this morning?"
" Oh I feel fine, thank you for staying with me."
"No problem, are you sure your OK?"
"I'm upset that I caught Toney and Alice having sex, but I guess I'll have to live with it."
"I'm sorry that it happened."
"Well I guess I just need to move on."
"Liz. you will but it might take some time."
"Yeah, I guess til then I'm going to have fun."
"Well...you know I could help you with that."
"Help me with what Max?"
"Help you have fun. That is if you can stand to be around me."
"Of course I can stand being around you, what kind of fun are you talking about?"
"Oh, I say this kind of fun..." Max said as he walked up to Liz.
Max picked Liz up and threw her over his shoulder and then ran out of the house and down to the beach and threw Liz into the water. She screamed as the waves hit her and when she stood up she was soaking wet. She took off running after Max and tripped him, making him fall face first into the water. When Max looked up he saw Liz laughing at him so he stood up and that was the start of a huge water fight. They tripped and splashed each other and were having a great time together and when things slowed down they turned and looked at each other. Max reached up and brushed a hair away from Liz's face and she smiled and then she tripped him again. He fell face first into the water and Liz started to run away from him. Max chased Liz and when he caught her she screamed as he spun her around and they both fell back into the water. They sat in the water looking at each other for a few minutes and then Max pulled Liz close to him and they leaned in and kissed , it was a very soft and tender kiss.
They pulled away from each for a moment, stared at each other and then leaned
in and kissed again. This kiss was different, there was a lot more passion in this kiss. While they were kissing Max pulled Liz closer to him and situated her on to his lap and then he pulled back and looked at her. She in turn looked down at Max and smiled. they leaned in and started kissing again. As she laid down on the sand Liz pulled Max with her. Max started kissing Liz's neck and then her chest. He pulled back long enough to help Liz take off her shirt then he leaned down and started to kiss Liz again. He looked at Liz a second and then leaned down and started kissing her breast. While Max was kissing and sucking on one breast he was rubbing the other one. A few minutes later Max switched breasts. Liz was moaning Max's name during his ministrations.
A few seconds later Max started to move toward Liz's stomach with his kisses and when he got to the waistband of her shorts he looked up and saw Liz was smiling and nodding her head. He put his hands on the sides of her shorts and pulled them down along with her underwear. After the shorts and underwear were off Liz reached up and helped Max take off his boxers. Now that they were completely nude Max laid on top of Liz and leaned in and kissed her as he entered her. As he pulled back and looked at Liz they both smiled then he leaned in and kissed her more passionately as they moved against each other. They both felt each other go over the edge and they yelled each others names. Max then pulled Liz with him as he laid on his back in the sand. When they came down from their high they were both shocked at what had happened and they didn't know what to do or say. Liz quietly sat up and put her clothes back on and when she turned she saw Max pulling up his boxer. They walked back to the house silently and when they walked in they turned and looked at each other.
"Liz I'm sorry for the, um,"
"Max, don't OK. It was nice,"
"It was?"
"Yes. It was great."
"Liz, I shouldn't have done that. You were upset about Toney."
"Max, I'm fine with what happened between us, and let's just keep it between you and me. And I don't really care about Toney."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Yes. Max can we keep this between us? I don't want anyone to know yet."
"Yeah, we can keep this between us, I'm not ready for Toney to find out."
"What can Toney do if he does find out?"
"Toney can put a hit out on me, or he can kill me himself."
"Would Toney really do that to you?"
"Liz, Toney can do anything he wants, and no one would know."
"OK. Now you've got me scared for both of our lives."
"Liz I promise I won't let anything happen to you."
"Max I don't want anything to happen to you either."
"Come on let's lock up the house and go lay down."
"That sounds like a good idea."
Max walked to the back door and locked it while Liz walked to the front door and locked it and then met in the living room and sat on the couch and Liz laid her head on Max's shoulder. He turned and kissed Liz's head and Liz turned and looked at Max. They both leaned in and kissed and as they were kissing Max pulled Liz on top of him and Liz wrapped her arms around Max's neck. They pulled back and took off each others top and Max pulled Liz closer and started kissing Liz's neck. Then he started to work his way down to Liz's chest. He kissed and sucked on Liz's breast while he rubbed the other one. A few seconds later Max switched and started to kiss and suck the other breast. After Max was done he had Liz stand up and take off her shorts while he took his off. After the shorts were off Liz laid down and pulled Max on top of her. When Max was on top of her he entered her in one movement. Max and Liz started to move against each other as they kissed and when they went over the edge they yelled each others name. A few seconds later they both fell fast asleep.

Later in the morning Liz woke up and saw that Max was still asleep and smiled as she tried to move away from him to get up but she felt something strange and when she pulled the covers back she found that she and Max were still joined together. She tried to move but she made a small sound and when she did Max rolled them over with him on top and started to move against her. As he moved Liz joined him and then they started kissing and the moving became more intense and soon they went over the edge, calling out each others names once again.After they came back down to earth they smiled at each other and Max looked down and Liz and said,
"Wow, that was some kind of wake up call."
"Yeah, it was," Liz agreed.
"Liz are you upset with what is going on between us?"
"Max, no, I'm not upset. I like what is going on between us. Do you? I mean are you upset with what is going on between us?"
"No! I'm not upset, I'm surprised that, well, you know?"
"Your surprised by what?"
" Liz I'm surprised by this. But I'm also glad this is happening between us."
"Let me guess, this is taking the both of us by surprise."
"Yes it's a surprise, but a good surprise,"
"Max what are we going to do when we go home?"
"That's easy. We'll act like nothing happened. And we act like friends."
"Do you think anyone will know what we did?"
"I don't think anyone but us will know, I hope we can keep it that way,"
"Yeah, let's hope no one finds out."
"We'll be fine. I just wonder what happened after we left the party."
"We'll ask when we get home. I don't want to think about that right now."
"Yeah, neither do I but who knows what we'll be going home to,"
"Do you think Toney knows we were gone?"
"Yeah Toney knows we weren't there. But no one knows where we are."
"We'd better get up, I'm hungry and you probably are too." Liz said.
"Yeah you're right, we do need to eat something before we go home."
"Do you think Michael and Maria are OK?"
"Liz, don't worry, Michael won't let anything happen to Maria."
"Yeah, your right. I just worry about them. So what do we have for breakfast?"
"I don't know. We should go see what's in the kitchen." Max said.
Liz and Max set up and pulled the covers up over them and then Max leaned over the couch and grabbed their clothes. Liz took her clothes and went into the bathroom and shut the door and got dressed and Max got dressed in the living room. When she got back to the living room she watched Max folding the blanket and when Max looked up he saw Liz watching him.
"Max when was the last time you were here?" Liz asked.
"Um, I think it has been about 2 years."
"Why did you wait so long to come back"
"Um, because this is where I sometimes come to hide from the world."
'Why do you need a place to hide?"
"Liz, I just come here to relax OK. So please stop asking questions? Come on we need to get something to eat,"
Max and Liz walked out of the living room and into the kitchen. Max headed over to the cabinet where he saw he had 1 shelf full of cereal and 1 shelf full of canned soup. When he turned around to tell Liz that she had a choice of canned soup or dry cereal he saw Liz looking in the fridge. He watched as she opened the fridge and noticed that there was 2 1/2 gallons of milk in the there and suddenly his stomach started to churn...
"We got 2 1/2 gallons of milk here," Liz said.
"Oh God Liz, that's been in there forever...we can either eat dry cereal or canned soup but no milk." Max was turning green.
"So what do you want to eat?" Max asked.
"Honey Bunches of Oats or Cap'n Crunch is good without milk. Do you have either of those?" Liz asked.
"Yeah we got some. Here I'll get the bowls." Max said.
Max walked up to a cabinet and grabbed the bowls. He turned and watched Liz as she walked up to the counter and took a seat on one of the bar stools. he walked up the the counter and sat next to Liz and sat the bowls between them and then looked at Liz.
"Liz are you sure your OK?"
"Yeah, I'm fine.I just keep wondering what's going to happen when we get home," she said.
"Oh, don't worry about it, I'm sure everything's going to be fine."
"Yeah, your right. So what do we do today?"
"We're going to go home and hopefully relax."
"Sounds good to me," Liz said as she popped another spoon full of Cap'n Crunch into her mouth.
"Liz, what are you going to do about Toney and Alice?"
"I don't know. I don't think I can forget about it, I don' know why he couldn't tell me about it?" Liz said.
"I know you're mad at them, but you can't let them know."
"Thanks Max, I know you're right."
"No problem," Max said as he smiled at her.
When they finished their breakfast Max turned to Liz and said,
"Liz come here."
Max rested his hands on Liz's hips and pulled her in closer to him...
"Liz everything is going to be fine. I promise you that."
"Okay, but promise me that you'll be careful for you too." Liz said.
"I promise you that I will be careful."
Max wrapped his arms around Liz and they leaned in and kissed as Liz put her arms around Max's neck. Max sat down and pulled Liz with him and seated her with her legs on either side of him. They began undressing each other and soon Max began making love to Liz's body all over again. Soon Max entered Liz while still kissing and rubbing Liz's breasts and then they began moving quickly against each other and a few minutes later they went over the edge while yelling each others names. After a short period of time they looked at each other and smiled.
"I think we need to clean up, and then we need to go back to bed," Max said with a smile.
"I think I agree with you...you're making me tired with the things you're doing to me...was that your plan?" Liz grinned...
"Yes. That's my plan, do you think you can handle it?"
"Oh, yeah. I'm up for the challenge,"
"That's good to know," Max said as he kissed Liz on the forehead and smiled.
Max and Liz got dressed and then went to the kitchen to clean up and after they put their bowls in the sink and everything was cleaned up they went back to bed where they had another round of sex which after a few minutes they fell back to sleep. What Liz and Max didn't know was that someone was watching them, the person walked to his car and drove off before Max or Liz woke up.
Meanwhile at Maria's
Maria and Michael woke up, they got dressed and met in the hallway to walk down the stairs to the kitchen together. When they walked into the kitchen Maria got the coffee while Michael went to get the cups and Maria filled the cups for them
