Coupling: Max and Liz but it's not really going to be about couples.
Rating: Like I said Liz is going to die so it's going to be a little sad and heavy. Mature at most, if it goes over that I'll let you know.

"January 13th 2005

Journal Entry 27

I'm Max Evans and it's been three years since my wife died. Things have not been normal since. This journal belonged to my wife Liz who died whilst having our daughter Lizzie. This is the last entry in this journal because I cannot keep it. I'm going to store it away and let Lizzie fill in the rest of the pages when she's old enough to. She's going to start at a play group tomorrow. She really looks like she's going to enjoy it"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Lizzie as she clung onto her dad's leg, he looked up at the lady who ran it and smiled
"You must be Max Evans. I'm Ava Harding" she smiled and shook his hand
"Miss... Harding did you say?" he asked her and she nodded
"I thought you looked familiar. Do you have a sister called Tess?"
"Ugh yeah I do. Why whose she harrased now?"
"Oh no she uh works for me" he explained and she nodded
"Strange for Tessexual to hold down a job" she mumbled then crouched down "And who do we have here? What's your name"
"No!" shouted Lizzie
"Lizzie" he warned her
"No!" she repeated
"Oh Lizzie's a beautiful name. Hi Lizzie I'm Ava would you like to come and play with some of the other kids?"
"Other kids?" she peered round still holding onto her dad's leg. She saw a brown haired boy sitting in the corner pretending to play with a truck but he was staring at her. Ava caught her staring
"That's Xan" she told her and Lizzie crawled over to her
"Xan? That's a weird name" she said with dislike
"He's my little boy and he's four years old. Do you want to go play with him?"
"He's playing truck all wrong. I'll go show him how to do it" she crawled off towards him and Max smiled
"You have a way with kids" he stated and she stood up nodding
"Yeah well I have twins of my own. Xan and Zachiary, what about you? Do you have just the one?"
"Yeah Lizzie's my little Angel. She kept me going after my wife died"
"Oh must be hard on her not having a mom" she replied "It's hard on my boys not having a dad"
"Did he... run off?"
"No. Kyle was my world, he was the perfect guy and he would have made a perfect father but he was killed in a car accident when I was four months pregnant. He never knew he was going to be a daddy and I regret not telling him"
"You must miss him" he stated and she nodded
"Every day of my life" she whispered with a sigh. Then she cleared her throat "So are you going to be staying the first day like other parents are you going to shoot off to work"
"I can stay for today. I own my own company so I can take days off whenever. I'm not sure about leaving it in the uncapable hands of Tess Harding"
"Yeah she is pretty slow" she replied "But at least you have back up right? Someone who is really good at what they do?"
"Yes, Maria Deluca is my vice president. After Liz died well I was lost, if it weren't for my sister and my best friends I would have never made it out" he said as he took off his coat. His was wearing jeans and a sports shirt. She took his jacket and hung it up
"So what do you need me to do?"
"Just stay with Lizzie keep an eye on her if she gets upset. This can get pretty scary for firstime kids" he nodded and went over and sat down on the carpet next to Lizzie and Xan
"You push the truck like this" she showed him "And you make noises"
"Lizzie I think Xan knows how to play truck" Max said, she didn't realising he was sitting there
"You're gonna stay?" she asked him and he nodded. She launched at him and hugged him "Xan! This is my daddy" she pointed a finger at him "He works on his own and he drinks beer and he burps really loud and he gets really smelly morning breath"
"My mommy looks like Frankinsteen in the morning. Her hair all sticks up" he told her and she giggled then calmed down some
"I don't gots a mommy. Coz my mommy had the same name as me she had to go to Heaven"
"Why?"
"My daddy told me that two Liz Evans were so beautiful and perfect that only one could live on Earth so my mommy closed her eyes and went to Heaven. She watches over me every day from Hebam... Heaven" she stuttered. Max smiled at his little girl. He missed his wife so very much but he had a feeling that he would keep on going and when it was his time to go she would be waiting for him at the gates.
