I pull the phone away from my ear to look at it. "Ok, has the whole world gone mad? I'm in the dark here, Chris. You're skipping school, along with everyone else, you're getting into fights with Angel, and now you're going to have to face your parents. With all the interest on all of you, I know no one will notice if I skip the rest of the day. Should I meet you somewhere after you talk with your parents? Should I come over? Clue me in, man!" I know I'm starting to sound hysterical but I am really sick of not knowing what's going on. I remember this morning something about Meta Chem and Chris said he wanted to talk to me and then all this crap hit the fan and I've been in the dark ever since.

~MICHAEL~

I nod at Max. I think I'll let Maria talk to Isabel and break the news. One woman freaking out on me is enough in one day. Looking at her as we reach my car, I ask, "Where are you parked, babe? I wanna make sure your car starts before we head for the house." What? I can be a sensitive guy!

~LIZ~

I accept Max's decision like everyone else. Walking towards our cars, I pull on his arm to stop him when we're out of earshot of Michael and Maria. "Hey, when we get home, maybe we can try talking like we said earlier?"

~Chris~
I have no other choice. She knows I can't deny anything she asks. That's just how I am to her.

"If you feel up to climbing my window without falling in the bushes again," I reply. Hey, I can't help it.

~Max~
I stare at Liz, who suddenly looks like a teenager again.
"Yeah, I'd like that." I say hugging her.

Occ: When are you going to have the parents captured and will it be all at once or one at a time? With all of them in separate vehicles right now, it might be a good time for one to be captured if you want. I'm not trying to hurry the story, just curious.

~LIZ~

I hadn't realized how long it had been since our last physical touch until Max pulled me into his arms for a hug. I swallow back tears at the realization. When we pull back, I blink back my tears so he won't see them and smile at him. "I'll meet you at home," I tell him, climbing into my car. Then I hop back out and give him a peck on the lips. "I love you."

~ROXIE~

Chris sounds upset and tired and it's not even lunch yet. "Ok, I'll try to get out of here after this period is over. Call me when it's safe to try to poke my head in the window."

"Sounds like a plan," I say to Roxie, as I pull up to the driveway.

~Angel~
Sarah's kissing me, and I know I did something right. I break away from her giving her my famous Guerin grin.
When Chris finally pulls up to the driveway, I sigh in relief.

"Finally!" I blurt out.

I raise an eyebrow at Michael, as if to question his sensitive guy sentiment, but I smile the whole time I'm doing it. He can be a sensitive guy. And he can do it when you're least expecting it. "I'm parked next to you," I admit sheepishly. Okay, so I was not cool, calm and collected when I heard the news. I was an angry mama bear. But I'm feeling considerably better about things now, knowing that the kids are on their way home.

Now, I'm just frustrated with them for doing this again. And worried. Wondering if they're okay. If they're all in one piece. I wonder if they have any idea how worried we get. And I wonder if this is how worried our parents were. And our parents had no clue about aliens or FBI agents, or anything. They were blissfully ignorant. Our eyes are open. There's a lot more for us to worry about with our children.

No matter how much they say it was safe. That it was fine. That there were no real risks. I know better. There's always a risk for us.

I lean up and kiss Michael softly before climbing into my car. "See you at home..."

I pull out my cell phone as I get into my car, heading home as I dial Isabel.

When she answers I simply say. "Meet me at the house. The kids skipped agian." This almost feels like a routine. Nothing else really needs to be said. And with those simple words, Isable knows they're coming home, so she knows they're safe.

It doesn't take any time for Michael and I to get home. And the second I see the car with our kids and Sarah in it already sitting in the driveway, I can feel my anger boil again.

I can't believe this. Sarah in trouble? Did someone take over her body? As soon as I get the call for Maria I'm out the door. This is not exceptable from Sarah! It's just not!

My mother is there parking in the driveway and I know my dad's not far behind. I step out of the car and so does Chris.

~Chris~
I step out of the car as soon as my brother does. Our faces are blooied, swollen, and bruised. I can tell as soon as Mom sees us she's going to freak.

~Maria~

When I take in the appearances of the two boys, I almost freak out again. What happened to them? They look horrible.

My eyes softened almost immediately. What is it about your children being hurt that takes some of the fire out of you?

I mutter a curse under my breath as I move closer to really inspect the damage. "Come on, let's get you inside....and cleaned up...."

I can see them visibly relax. Oh, please, as if they're anywhere close to being off the hook.

As soon as they sit down in the kitchen, while I'm getting ice I ask them,"So what happened?"

Did they really think skipping school and getting into fist fights would be okay? And since when do these two do those kinds of things. That was more like Eliza.

Thank god our mom goes all motherly on us. Sarah, Chris, and I follow her in the house as she tries to clean our cuts. I visibly relax, but as soon as Mom asks what happened I know were're not off the hook yet.

~Chris~
I really don't want Angel to get in trouble for throwing the first punch.

I quickly reply to her question, "We started fighting about the whole thing with my vision and how he almost got beat to a blood pulp. I threw the first punch."

If my mom is buying any of this she doesn't know me as well as she thinks she does.

Occ: Nice posting, Destiny Awaits. Editted because Corina Star and I forgot one important detail to the plot. LOL. Please reread Liz's post.

~MICHAEL~

I chuckle at Maria's words and the sight of her car blocking the end of the row of cars beside mine. I climb in the car and follow her towards the house. When she zooms through a yellow light, I curse and stop. I hope she doesn't let those boys take advantage of the soft spot she has for them. I pull in the drive just as the front door closes behind the group and I take my time getting out of the car, trying to figure out how to handle this.

Opening the front door, I look around but don't see anyone. "Where is everybody?" I yell.

~LIZ~

I pull onto the road a couple of cars behind Max and start to head home. The woman in front of me must be 100 years old and is going 20 mph. Nothing gets me mad like traffic and people who can't drive. Max used to tease me about it when we first got married. Then, after a while of seeing just how mad I can get, he just drives so I don't lose my cool.

I'm stopped at a red light and see Max turn up ahead a couple of blocks. The old woman turns right and is thankfully out of my way. It's just as the light turns green and I'm ready to go that I get hit from behind. #@!%^&! I so don't need this right now! I throw the car in park and get out, ready to give the other driver a piece of my mind. Then I see that it's another woman with a cell phone in her hand. "Oh my! I'm so sorry! I was on the phone and wasn't paying attention..." she started to explain.

Ignoring her, I examine the damage to my bumper and close my eyes at the dents. I'll never be able to get the trunk open. "I'm really sorry!" she says again. Then there is beeping and yelling from behind us. Turning to wave at the other drivers, she then turns back to me. "Maybe we should move onto the side street to exchange info?"

"Whatever," I mutter, climbing back into my car. I turn on the left blinker and pull down the alleyway. She pulls in behind me and climbs out of the car. There was a van parked alongside one of the buildings and I'm parked behind that. I climbed out of the car and start digging in my purse for pen and paper.

We exchange names, phone numbers, and insurance information and I climb back in my car to head home. Pulling out my cell, I call Max's and get his voicemail. Figures, he always lets it go to voicemail when he's driving. "Hey, I got into an accident. I'm fine and I'm on my way home but I'll be a couple of minutes behind."
