“I don’t know about that. Don’t male models have to be like seven foot or something?” he laughs. “I always wanted to be a footballer player, ever since I was a kid. There was nothing else in the world that I would rather do.”

He seems to be thinking about happy times, so I quickly take a lot more photos. When the camera runs out of film I switch to my wide lens.

"Family, huh?" he says, taking me by surprise. Most footballers just wanna talk about number one....themselves. "Whatcha got? Husband? Kids?"

I laugh. "God No. Just two rather strange yet loveable brothers. I live with them. Well them and Serena, one of my brothers girlfriends. Shs very nice to. But yeah, they mean to the world to me. And no I dont have a fiance or a boyfriend. I dont have time." I state.

Liar. My brain says. Ok, its an excuse but its a good excuse. Besides, Im beginning to wonder if there is a guy out there for me. I use to think he would just come to me, my soul mate...
Now Im not so sure.
Maybe Im meant to be a great photographer who looks after her crazy brothers all her life.

....Oh God....am I always going to be this wistful.

"What about you family wise? Is there a significant other in your life?" I ask. I always say that rather thank "girlfriend" or "boyfriend"...In my line of work...you get all sorts.

She laughs at my question about a husband or kids. "God No. Just two rather strange yet loveable brothers. I live with them. Well them and Serena, one of my brothers girlfriends. She very nice to. But yeah, they mean to the world to me. And no I don’t have a fiancée or a boyfriend. I don’t have time

"What about you family wise? Is there a significant other in your life?”

“No brothers, no sisters. It was just me and my dad.” I say and its just about truth.

The God honest truth is, I have no idea if I have any more brothers and sisters. When my mom left, she kind of disappeared and I haven’t seen or heard from her since. Chances are, she moved on with her life, she’s probably got a whole new family but I could care less. She stopped being a part of my life the day she left and that’s the way I like it. I don’t need her, I don’t need anyone.

“And there is no special woman in my life at the moment,” I say and again, its just about the truth.

Being famous does have its benefits. Women tend to fall at my feet so I’m never lonely when it comes to the opposite sex. But I really don’t want to admit that there are a few different women at the moment. It makes me seem like a player. The thing is I’m not ready to settle down and commit, I don’t have to time for a serious relationship and these women understand that. I’ve always been up front about it and they don’t seem to mind. They are using me as much as I’m using them.

“Working takes up most of my time and when I do get a couple of days off, I try and go visit my Dad as much as possible.” I explain and then I try and shift the conversation back to her. “Tell me about your brothers and Serena? I always wondered what it would be like to have siblings.”

SERENA

“This looks great girl, you really have a cool place from what I can tell so far. You certainly have to help me with my house.”

“Thanks,” I say, looking around the apartment with pride. “And I’ll only help you if you promise to give me a free rein. No nagging, no whining, no nothing.”

It took me seven months to get it just the way I wanted and then the Evans moved in and it took a further two months to add things so that it suited them as well. I love decorating. Its fun being able to be creative and different, to let my imagination run wild.

The living room is my favorite room, other then my bedroom, in the whole apartment. It is the largest room in the apartment and has the most amazing view of the city. The three oversized couches are so comfortable that more than a couple of times, I have fallen a sleep on them.

Plus it has the coolest entertainment centre ever. There is nothing I like better after a hard day/night at the club then chilling out in front of the widescreen TV and watching a DVD or the rare occasion playing a little play station or Xbox.

On the mantelpiece and side tables, there are framed photographs of everyone important in my life and each and everyone holds a happy memory. There are photos from Alex and Abby’s wedding, a couple from my brother, Kyan’s graduation, one or two from mine and Zan’s holiday in Paris. Hell, I think you get the point. There a lot of photographs in that room.

Leading Alex down the hall to Isabel’s room, I push open her bedroom door. I know she won’t mind if Seth uses her room for a little while. I would have offered my room but Zan is one of those people that move around in their sleep a lot and I don’t want him kicking Seth or something.

I watch silently as Alex gently puts him in the bed without waking him. Wow, I bet that kid could sleep through anything. I think he might get that off Kyan who can happily sleep through a earthquake.

“He’s gotten so big,” I state to Alex as we leave the room, the door open enough so that Alex can still hear if Seth wakes up or anything. “I’m glad that you’re here, Alex. I’ve missed you and Seth.”

“He’s gotten so big, I’m glad that you’re here, Alex. I’ve missed you and Seth.”

I smile at Serena and give her a hug, now that my arms are free. "I missed you too, Serena, a lot."

Realising her, I look around. "You certainly seem to know how to live a good life." Her appartement really is great, not that I expected any less from Serena.

Looking one more time to the room where Seth sleeps, I ask. "No one else here? I hope we weren't stopping you from leaving or something and ... just how much would it cost me to let you decorate my house?"

Maria

"Nice to meet you, Maria. I'm Michael." The man says, holding out his hand, and I shake it politely. He seems nice, along with good looking, and this flight is looking to be much better than I expected it.

When I look over at him again, I notice files out on his lap, and disappointment tinges my mood, figuring he'll spend his time looking through them instead of talking, until he closes his briefcase. Or not.

As I settle in, taking a drink from my water bottle that I carry everywhere, I hear Michael's voice again. "So, is the Big Apple your final stop?"

"Yes actually. I live there. I'm on my way back from a business meeting." At the mention of the meeting again, a frown flashes across my face, and I take another sip of my water. Being the blabbermouth that I am, I continue. "I'm supposed to be sitting back there," I add, pointing to the curtain, "but there was a problem with my seat, so they moved me here."

Smiling, I mentally hit myself. Why is it that I always tell people information they have no desire to know? It's like a curse or something. I should just tape my mouth shut.

SERENA

"I missed you too, Serena, a lot." Alex says as he embraces me.

I hug him back tightly. I know that the last three years have been so hard on him since Abby and I wish that I could have been there more to help or even just to give him a hug. I really want him to be happy here in New York and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that him and Seth are happy, loved and safe here.

"You certainly seem to know how to live a good life. No one else here? I hope we weren't stopping you from leaving or something and ...just how much would it cost me to let you decorate my house?"

“Probably more than you could afford,” I joke with a grin. “But you’re my cousin so I’ll give you a family discount. Hmm and there are people about. My darling boyfriend, Zan is here but he is in the bedroom. He worked the nightshift last night so he is out cold but Max, his brother, is here. He’s in the kitchen. Follow me. Its about time you meet some of my friends.”

“And don’t be silly,” I say, when Alex says something about stopping me from leaving. “I was just going to pop across the hall and see if Tess needed any help, she’s got a new roommate moving in today and to be honest, she is a disaster waiting to happen. I'll check on her later.”

“No brothers, no sisters. It was just me and my dad.”

He has this rather far away look....God this guy is giving me every expression in his eyes that I can take...told you he was a natural.

“And there is no special woman in my life at the moment,”

I cant help but wonder...are all the stories about footballers true. You know, the "Ill sleep with any good lookuing chick that comes after me" rumours.

“Working takes up most of my time and when I do get a couple of days off, I try and go visit my Dad as much as possible.”

Well he may pretend hes all hard, but he has got a heart there. But he quickly shifts the conversation again.

“Tell me about your brothers and Serena? I always wondered what it would be like to have siblings.”

Since he clearly doesnt want to talk about himself, as the client he doesnt have to. So tha means its time for me to talk.

"Well...my two brothers are Zan and Max. Zan is the one dating Serena. Zan works at the hospital and Max is a lawyer. Max also has a girlfriend, Maria. But to be honest, I dont see much of any of them these days. Serena works at a nightclub, so between our four works, Ill be lucky to see one of them a day." I say.

I take a few more pictures. "Looks like we're preety much done here Mr Valenti. Unless theres any other position or style you would like? I mean some clients like a view behind them, so we could take you by the wall there or, up on the roof. Lots of options. Your the client, so whatever you say" I say giving him a smile as I sort out the films of taken pictures.

ALEX

I'm glad that I'm not visiting Serena at a bad time. The last thing I want is to show up when she's busy. I bet she is already planning on what to buy for my house and that before she even saw it!

Ah, boyfriend is in the house, there go my hopes about her being as pure as white snow. And the boyfriend's brother is here too? Interesting. At least this way, I'll get to meet new people immediately before I can even start to withdrawl into my own little world with Seth again. But knowing Serena, she won't let me have a quiet life without any action.

Okay, boyfriend is Zan, his brother is Max, one of her roommates is Isabel who's room Seth is using right now and across the hall there lives Tess ... a friend of hers I guess. I hope I won't mix it up!

Entering the kitchen after Serena, I spot a dark haired guy sitting at the table, sipping coffee. I smile slightly at him and glance at Serena, hoping that she'll make the introduction since I always suck at such simple stuff.

SERENA

Max is where I left him. Still sat at the kitchen table, still probably thinking about Maria. Gag. I mean, really. Some couples do make you want to reach for a bucket. Admit it. You know, I’m right. The thing is, Max and Maria really aren’t one of those PDA couples but sometimes, Max gets this puppy dog look in his eyes and well, I really don’t think I should say too much on that subject.

And I know, I know. I really not one to speak, considering how I was pining after Zan last night but that is different. I don’t do it in public. I keep the patheticness to the bedroom where it belongs and where no one can ever find out about it. And I’m a girl, so there. Yeah, so many excuses. Maybe I should seek some help.

“Max, I want to introduce you to my favorite cousin in the whole world, Alex.” I say, snapping Max’s attention away from whatever he was thinking about. “Alex, this is Max, Zan’s twin brother and probably one of the best lawyers in NYC.”

Great, so that’s one introduction done. Soon I’ll have Alex mingling with all my friends and on the road to love. Alex deserves to be happy again and Seth deserves a mother. I’m on a mission.

“No!” I say quickly, relieved to be given the chance to escape the camera. I really do hate having my picture taken. “I think we’ve probably got enough for one day and I can always come back another day for more, right? There’s no need to go overboard the first day. And please call me Kyle. Mr Valenti makes me feel old and grey.”
