~Isabel~
"You left two hormonal teenagers in a room together."
~Chris~
"My ribs," I point to the bruised flesh beneath my shirt.

I point to Maria and shrug. "Hey, don't look at me. That wasn't my idea." I then ask, "Where's Jesse, by the way; shouldn't you have called him or is he out of town again?"
~ROXIE~
My breathing quickens as I slide my hands underneath his shirt. "Poor baby! If you take your shirt off, I can get a closer look and heal those too," I say in a low voice.

Getting defensive, I shrug at Isabel. "So if you don't want Sarah here, take her home!" I fling at her. "If you want more information, you'll have to get it out of Maria." I start towards the stairs. I think I need to try to talk to Chris one more time before I call Max. Maybe he's ready to talk now.
~ROXIE~
I grin evilly at him. "Maybe. Would that be such a bad thing?"
~LIZ~
"Max?"

I smile at her with the same smug grin, "No, but that's bad news for a good girl such as your self..." I pause as I hear foot steps truddging up the stairs. The only one who makes that much noise going up the stairs is Dad.
"Roxie, you need to hide quick," I tell her.

I hear the footsteps at the same time and freeze. Chris tells me I have to hide and I start to panic. "Where? In the closet?" I ask.
~MICHAEL~
I hear voices coming from Angel and Leo's room. "Isabel, you can come get Sarah at any time. She's up here in Angel's room." With 4 kids and only one daughter, the twins had to share a room. I know they don't like it but that's the way it goes. I call down to Leo. "Son, you better get to your room fast. Lor can wait in Eliza's room while I call Max." Maybe I should have put Sarah in there too. I move to the door to Chris' room and knock.

"Yes, in the closet," I whisper. I hear my dad shouting to Isabel than Leo.
I hear dad knock on my door. I glance back to make sureRoxie is hiddensome where.
"Come in," i reply to the knocking on the door.

I dive into the closet and close the door just as I hear the knocking on his door. Crap! If I get caught in this room, I'm in deep garbage.
~MICHAEL~
Chris calls out, "Come in!" and I open the door. Walking inside, I'm not really sure where to begin. Looking at his face, I see that the black eye is gone. "I see you were able to heal your eye. Any luck with your ribs? Should I ask Max to come over and take a look at them?"

~Chris~
"I was just going to heal them. I don't want you to bother Max for something so small. So what did you wanna talk about?" I ask.
"I know what you're thinking. You're thinkking how much I'm like Max aren't you?"

I straddle his desk chair and sigh. "You are a lot like Max," I agree with him. "But I was actually thinking that maybe you could talk to him since you can't seem to talk to me or your mother. Chris, what's going on with you and your brothers lately? You guys are hardly ever home and when you are, you're shut up in your room or distracted about something. Skipping school is not like you...maybe like Leo but not your or Angel. Your mother and I are worried and we thought that maybe it would be easier for you to talk to someone else. Isabel is downstairs if you think you could talk to her."
~ROXIE~
You know, I was always the worst at playing hide and seek because the anxiety of hiding and waiting to be caught always made me have to go to the bathroom. I apparently haven't outgrown this as my bladder has chosen now to let me know that it's time to visit John. I try to distract myself by listening to the conversation outside, but it's not working real well.
