Re: Pet Peeves
I agree with everything RiceKrispy and Hunter put. Not only is clinginess and mind games a pet peeve they're a turn off.
In a Halloween related pet peeve, I hate it when teenagers (at least 16 and over) come to the door and want candy. I feel trick-or-treating is more for the kids.
Another peeve is when people come to the door with no costumes. Come on, if you want candy at least dress up, even if you put a sheet over your head and put the word 'boo' on it is better then nothing.

Oh definitely! I also hate it when adults take their, like, infants trick-or-treating. It's, like, come on, those kids are too small to even eat the candy. I swear, some of those adults are using their babies to score candy and eat it for themselves!Jezebel Jinx wrote: In a Halloween related pet peeve, I hate it when teenagers (at least 16 and over) come to the door and want candy. Yeah, it's really not that hard to put on a costume. You don't have to go out and spend $100 to dress up for Halloween. Just put a sheet over your head, like you said.Another peeve is when people come to the door with no costumes. Re: Pet Peeves
I hate it when people judge me when I spend money on something they wouldn't spend money on. My roommate is really tight with her money, so she's the kind of girl who would look at me funny if I bought anything from say... Disneyland. Or um, my fiancee bought me a necklace that cost $400 and my other roommate just HAD to tell her how much it cost. And she looked at me and rolled her eyes like I wasted all the money in the world. He just wanted to buy me something nice for my birthday.

Life is only as good as the memories we make.

Fiancé, the last I read/noticed, he was your boyfriend.RiceKrispy wrote:Or um, my fiancee bought me a necklace that cost $400 and my other roommate just HAD to tell her how much it cost.
When did he become your fiancé?

And yes, I realize this is off topic, so to get back on topic here's another pet peeve of mine. When passengers in my car mess with my radio. Especially if it's a song I happen to like and they don't. It's an unspoken rule that whoever is driving should choose the music. Especially if it's their own freakin' car. It doesn't bother me if it's a really close friend/my boyfriend and we have similar taste in music, but if I'm driving around someone I've recently met/hung out with, I get so annoyed when they start playing with my radio.

We've been engaged for a while. He asked me to marry him, but can't afford a ring just yet (at least not the "perfect" one. He doesn't want to get me anything less than what I deserve. Or so he says. LOL). But I fluctuate between boyfriend and fiancee, probably because although we do plan to get married, it's not going to be in the very near future.Wench On A Leash wrote:Fiancé, the last I read/noticed, he was your boyfriend.RiceKrispy wrote:Or um, my fiancee bought me a necklace that cost $400 and my other roommate just HAD to tell her how much it cost.

Aw, that's sweet. I can relate to a long engagement. I've been engaged literally for 3 years.RiceKrispy wrote: We've been engaged for a while. You know, here's a pet peeve of mine that I'm sure all females can agree with: Why is it that, no matter how good a woman looks, her body still gets attacked for either being too big or too thin? Are people never satisfied? I flipped open one of the latest issues of the TV guide a few days ago and was appalled to find an article called "Dancing With the Stars Weight Watchers." They showed pictures of two of the professional dancers, Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer, supposedly looking "heavy." And they were evern referred to as heavy in the article. Let me tell you, those women are not heavy! They're some of the most in-shape people out there! They're beautiful, athletic, talented, and curvy! What's wrong with that?

Re: Pet Peeves
Yes, the weight issue in the media kills me.
Some magazines and shows are so hypocritical. They criticise celebrities for setting unattainable goals for women and young girls by being too thin. Then you turn the page and they have another feature pointing out and making fun of actresses for having a VPL or a small stain on their jeans or some other minor flaw. No wonder these celebrities put so much into looking perfect, if they step out in public looking anything less than imaculate they get slaughtered by the media.
If a woman is too thin, she's a bad role model and if she's a normal size, the media treat her like she's obese.
Something that's stuck with me was a magazine I read years ago. I think I remember it because it was about Majandra, she had showed up at an awards ceremony or something looking very thin and the magazine all but inferred that she was anorexic. Then a few pages later, they had a feature on healthy snacking. They asked celebrities for their favorite snack and then gave healthier alternatives. Majandra was asked and she mentioned that she liked a particular snack - I think it was chocolate covered peanuts or something like that. They suggested she eat mixed seeds or something. I can't remember exactly. But whatever - if they thought she was too thin why the hell were they then giving her tips on how to be thinner?

Re: Pet Peeves
WTF? Majandra's a perfect size. Gosh, a woman can never satisfy the media, can she?
Here's another pet peeve, and it has to do with the presidential election coverage I'm watching right now: Aren't journalists supposed to be un-biased in their reporting? I swear, these reporters covering the election are absolutely salivating over Barak Obama! (I didn't even vote for McCain or Obama. I wrote Hilary's name in! Yeah!) Anyway, it's almost making me sick to watch, not because I have something against Obama, but because I feel like the Obama-obsessed media has pretty much determined who wins this election. Let us decide for ourselves! Don't shove one candidate down our throats.
I hope that's not too ranty.

To be fair, Fox News has probably been all over McCain and Palin. It all depends on which channel you're watching. All news sources seem to have their biases. I personally am salivating over Obama, lol.

Yeah, I just read your post over at FF. I can tell you are!I personally am salivating over Obama, lol.

Oh, here's yet another pet peeve of mine relating to this damn election process: THE FREAKING ELECTORAL COLLEGE! First of all, I don't even understand how it works. Second of all, why don't we just elect a president by the popular vote. It would be like American Idol. So many people would vote because they would know that every single vote counts no matter which state you live in. As it is now, a state like California has 55 electoral votes (correct me if I'm wrong on that, Krista) and my state only has 5. It just hardly seems fair.
I don't know. I've been ranting about too many pet-peeves lately. I shall quit.
