I wasn't certain just what to think, things seemed to be going fast now that we were preparing to leave and the slaving ship was being left behind. However, as I stood on deck and looked across the waves towards my brother's ship and then looked at the slavers ship that was located between the two, I was a bit surprised to hear the order being given to the pirates to sink the slavers ship.
Sure, I'd known my brother was a pirate and so was Michael, but I didn't expect to actually see him sink a ship, especially one with the slavers still on board. I felt a cold chill race down my spine and wondered if Tess had heard it as well. I was about to look for her when I heard the 'boom' of cannon followed by more and soon the slavers ship was sinking. I couldn't stop myself from watching it and despite being glad I wasn't a prisoner on the ship I couldn't help but feel guilt for having caused the death of so many people, even if they were evil men.
Where is everyone else??

In just under a day, we're able to get the ladies to a small port about five miles south of London. Even when we're doing the work of the angels it's not safe to be that close to the authorities in the city. Eric has agreed to stay with the ladies and escort them to the city. He's an old sewer rat and I trust that he'll be able to see them to safety without risking his own skin.
I'll be able to ask Isabel to dreamwalk him and find out when he's ready to return to us. She's quite good at slipping in and out of a man's dream un-noticed.
After re-distributing the ladies a little, we were soon on our way to the Ace. My biggest concern is actually for the safety and comfort of the ladies with Michael. I do trust Alex to protect them and I know Isabel can take care of herself, but I can't help but continue to be concerned. On the Lucky Star, I'm taking personal attention to the comfort of our passengers although they don't seem to have much interest in interacting with my crew. Wise ladies.
Lady Liz is quite intrequing. I don't know why she's captured my attention so. She seems to look away whenever I set my eyes on her except when she's required to make inquiries. The other ladies seem to have taken to her as their leader and she does seem to be quite adept at it. She's strong, not like so many women I've met.
*~*~*~*~*~*~
Two days after dropping off Eric and his female charges, we're finally sailing into the bay of the Lucky Ace. The sight of the white-washed buildings makes me feel happy and comfortable and safe. With all the provisions we now have, we should be able to stay for a good spell. We'll just have to find a place for all the ladies to stay as they find a way to settle in. I know they'll be most welcome, but they'll need to remain protected.
All hands are on deck, busy with guiding the grand lady into her berth. I can already see the townspeople gathering and the little children running up and down the docks, pointed excitedly. They know our return usuaully heralds good things and treats.

Well look at me now, hardly the lady from a good family… That is not to say that I appear scruffy, but my dress is a little torn, and I gave up trying to keep my hair in the fastenings a number of days ago. Now, I just let it fall down over my shoulders…
A number of the women have not been having a very good journey… The sea has hardly been calm, and more than one have looked rather green form one time to another… At the moment I am sat with one of them, who finally seems to be sleeping… I brush some hair back from her face, watching her…
Surprisingly enough, I myself have not felt so bad. I have been kept quite busy though, constantly reassuring women as one or more of them began to have second thoughts. More than one changed their mind when we reached the port near London, deciding to go back home rather than continue on to the new destination…
For myself, that never even occurs to me… Maria knows as well as me what awaits me if I go back… A marriage to someone who is more than twice my age, and a loveless one at that… Other things that I don’t want to even think about… No…I do not want to go home…not to that…
“Elizabeth…?”
Pulled back from my thoughts, to the present, I look round and smile at the girl who is addressing me. She is a little older than me, but then most of the girls are… That doesn’t seem to have stopped them turning to me, or Maria for guidance… A leader…hardly anything I thought I would ever be… “Jenny, how many times, it is Liz…please, Elizabeth sounds so formal, and I have never really used it with my friends…”
She gives an awkward smile, and nods. “Alright…Liz…”
I do not need to be an expert to see that something is wrong… “Jenny…are you alright…is something wrong…?”
“I-I do not know about this…I guess I am beginning to realise exactly what I have done…”
I nod slightly. “Are you having second thoughts…?” I ask her gently. I do hope that she is not, for I do not know whether or not there is in truth an option left… For now though, I hope that listening to her talk it through will be enough… “Do you want to go home…?”
She appears to think a moment, and the way that she seems to hug herself does make me wonder what she would have to go back to… Her actions remind me of myself… “N-no…but what will there be on this island for us…?”
I shake my head. “In truth, I do not know…” I admit softly. “But if you do not want to go home, you might as well try it…” I take a breath. “If you decide it really is not right for you, we can talk to Max, or one of the others, and perhaps another alternative can be found…”
“M-maybe you are right…”
I give her a small smile. “There is nothing wrong with being nervous Jenny…it is understandable, it is all so new and we have no way to know how it will work out…” I pause a moment. “I am always here to listen, if you need me…”
She smiles. “Thank you…”
I nod, standing and looking at her. “Would you stay here with Amanda for a few minutes, I need to go and do something…”
She nods and sits down in my place as I head out of the room, wrapping the simple shawl I wear more tightly around my shoudlers.
As I head up onto deck, I can hear a lot of noise coming from all around. Everyone seems busy, and a number of the women are stood to one side looking rather nervous. Although I had in fact come up intending to find Maria, it seems I’ll have to see to them first…
Smiling, I head over to them. As soon as they notice me, they all start pointing and motioning for me to join them. A couple are playing with their fingers, and another with her hair.
“Ladies…” I greet them brightly.
“Oh Elizabeth, have you seen where they intend to leave us…?” This is one of the more snooty of the women. In truth I do not know why she decided to come with us. She has done hardly anything except complain since the moment we came onboard, and I just don’t know what to do about her…
Unfortunately, in the same way as comes clear from the way they follow Maria and I, most of the women are quite weak, and from the look on the faces of the other women present, it is obvious they have been listening to her. I look around, for the first time realising how close we are to our destination. I don’t know about Christina, but personally I see a very welcome sight… I see women and children, solid land, and a place to make a new start…
Looking round at the other women, I try to reassure them once more. “I am sure it will be fine… The people there look quite welcoming, and the view is not unpleasant…” I point out in a soft voice.

The wind catches my hair as I stand on the bridge, giving directions to get the Lucky Star into port, although these men are all old-hands at it. They know the hazards almost as well as I do. All the hidden reefs that work so well to assure that strangers will not be able to easily access our hidden home.
I notice Lady Liz come up on deck, watching our progress. She is a fine a figure of a woman as any I've seen. More, she's intelligent and quick and seems to have a lively sense about her that I find to be most attractive. Indeed, if Isabel had chosen to dreamwalk me these past two nights she may will have found Lady Liz there, keeping me company.
I would like very much to get to know her a bit better, but all my interactions with her have been very business-like. I know she feels responsible for her ladies and I believe she's a bit afraid of me. That's actually very wise, as she is a lady and I am a pirate. In truth, I would never hurt her or any of the ladies under my protection now, but I do understand her hesitation.
Now, however is not a good time. The crew and I are quite occupied with berthing the ship. Or at least, I should be. I'm far too distracted by this attractive auburn-haired maiden.

Thanx Isabelle!
This one is kinda short, but I really didn't know what to do with her at this point.

I stand here on the bow of the ship watching the waves crash against us.
A lot of the girls are feeling very anxious about our current situation. But to be perfectly honest I am feeling a little relieved. At this point I have no home to go back to. I am looking forward to making a new start with my new friends. The wind picks up, tossing my blonde curls in every direction.
I feel someone's eyes on my back. I turn to see Isabel walking towards me. I let relief wash across my face as she approaches.
" I am so glad its you. I was afraid it was another lonely pirate."

I had decided to join those above deck after finishing assisting a young woman that had been on the slaving ship with me. When I saw Tess standing over at the bow of the ship, I made my way toward her. Watchin her carefully for any signs that she might be feeling uncomfortable or sick. So many of the women had been that I'd had to hold many a head while they wretched. Michael was a bit busy with giving his men orders, so it would give me the chance to talk to Tess without a great deal of people around.
I'd come to realize that there was more to her then most others and was really beginning to wonder why I felt as though I knew her from somewhere. "I am so glad its you. I was afraid it was another lonely pirate."
"Have there been many that bothered you?" I questioned as I moved up to stand beside her and look out over the land where we would be making our home. "If so, tell me who and I will see to it they recieve reprimands and punishment."

"Have there been many that bothered you?"
I smile at her instinctive protectiveness," Just a couple, but don't worry I can take care of myself. I have to." I add softly. I can't help but think that this has all happened rather suddenly. First I am kidnapped by slavers and now I am headed to a strange island to live among pirates. I can't help but wonder, what would my parents would think? I shed a tear. Letting the salty liquid mark my face I stare straight ahead at the nearing island. Not being one to openly weep I would normally wipe it away, but I am not just with anyone. I am with Isabel. In my heart, I feel like I don't have to hide anything from her. Instead I let the tears flow easily each one staining my face. I'll wear them proudly for at this point their all I've got.

“Which one…the island or the Pirate…?” Christina suggests, sounding rather more crass than I would ever have expected of even her.
I feel my cheeks flushing, and I quickly deny any such thing. “I don’t know what you are on about…”
"Oh come Elizabeth…I am not blind…I have seen the way you look at the Pirate, the way you talk to him…I would not have been surprised if you were not actually sleeping in your own berth the last few days."
As sweet as I am sometimes, she is now definitely trying my patience… In truth I cannot say I would object to the opportunity to get to know Max better…but I cannot think of him as any old Pirate… His apparel, the ship, all make him a Pirate, but in his mannerisms, his speech, I cannot help thinking he seems like more of a gentleman than most I have known in my past. “Christina, I would appreciate it very much if you refrained from making such suggestions about myself and Captain Maxwell… I am a lady just as you are, and I do not appreciate you making out I am not… My lips thin somewhat and I fix my eyes on her in a cold stare for a moment.
“Now…if you will excuse me ladies, I am going to see if I can find Maria…and perhaps I will be able to find out some idea of timing as to when we will have our feet on firm ground once more…” I take my leave of them with a small nod and smile before continuing to walk along deck.
I am aware that the men are busy, and I try to keep out of their way, altering my path if it seems I am about to become an obstacle.
All the while, I have my eyes scanning the deck for any sign of Maria…after struggling with the sick women most of the time, it has been some time since we have been able to talk properly, and I would like to find out how she is keeping… I know that she, of all of us, may be missing home…I know she has always been very close to her mother…a wonderful woman, the absence of which I think I might feel myself…
Before long, I find that I have walked along practically the whole length of the portion of the deck which is available to us, and I find myself standing alongside Max.
The wind is blowing my hair forward, into my face, and I reach up, pushing it back as I look over at him. “Captain…” I greet him softly.

I see Tess smile slightly before she responds, " Just a couple, but don't worry I can take care of myself. I have to." The last bit was rather soft, yet I'd been able to hear it.
As I watched her from the corner of my eye, I noticed that she seemed to get down and moved to stand closer, putting an arm around her shoulder, "Hey, you aren't alone Tess. You don't have to just depend on yourself." I told her quietly, letting her know with words and a gentle squeeze that I was there.
I had no problem with her crying and if she was going to, I would rather her know she had someone that she could cry on. There was something about her that made me feel as though I knew her and I was determined that the next time I slept, I would dreamwalk her to see if there was a reason behind it.

"Hey, you aren't alone Tess. You don't have to just depend on yourself."
The softness in her voice lets me know she is telling the truth. I take a deep breath letting her reasurance wash over me. For some reason I feel calmer when she's around. I barely know her, but it seems as though we have been friends forever. No. Not just friends. Like Family. Hmmm. This is quite odd. I can't help but wonder about the poor man that got caught unaware on a slavers ship. Kyle. That was his name. I hope the Captain isn't being to harsh on him. After all how was he to know? Trying to push these confusing thoughts away I turn back to Iz.
"How much longer until you think we will reach shore?"
