Summary: After Departure, Maria left town with no explanation. She is about to return to Roswell five years later with a surprise for everyone, especially Michael.
Authors Note: Okay, so I’m taking all of my stories and completely revamping them. This used to be called “I Won’t Stop Loving You.” For those of you have read that one, this will be similar, but I’m changing the ending and rewriting the rest. I’ll be doing this with all of my fics, as I noticed I hated much of my earlier work upon re-reading them! LOL! I hope you enjoy! <3 Krystle
Chapter 1
Maria drove down highway 40, with the feeling of butterflies in her stomach, as she came closer to the place she once called home. She didn’t know how her old friends were going to react to her coming home after so long. She’d left five years ago without any explanation and she hoped they would forgive her and welcome her back into their tight knit group. That was, if any of them were still there.
When she said she didn’t keep in contact with any of them, she really didn’t keep in contact. She didn’t even know if they were still in Roswell, though she prayed they were. Then again, knowing Max, at least the pod-squad wasn’t going anywhere.
She worried too much. She needed to expect nothing. That way she was not disappointed. If there weren’t there, she’d find them. If they didn’t want to see her, she would figure something out. This would not be the end of the world. She’d lived on her own for long enough now, she could continue to do it if she had to.
She drove until she was sick of driving. Finally, she saw the ‘Welcome to Roswell’ sign and sighed, though she didn’t know if it was in relief or out of great tension. She was nervous as hell about being in Roswell again, but as nervous as the whole thing made her, she was excited too. Roswell was her home, even though she hadn’t been back in five years. Everything she loved and missed was in Roswell, or so she assumed. Even if her friends hated her, this was still the land of her childhood. It was the place she met the aliens; the town where she fell in love; the little desert community that she’d been longing for the minute she left.
The first thing she did when she got into town was check into a room in Roswell’s only motel, the Tumbleweed Inn. She smiled as she thought about the alien outings that had led her to that location many years ago.
She cut the engine and hopped out of the car, waking the sleeping boy in the back seat. She picked him up, still limp in her arms from sleep, and carried him into the lobby. “Come on, baby. Naptime is over. Hungry?” she cooed into his ear.
“Yeah, Mommy! I want fooood!” he chanted with a big, goofy grin as Maria got them a room for the next few nights.
“Ok, baby. Let’s take our stuff in the hotel then we will go eat.” She smiled warmly at her son. He’d become her whole world over the last four years; her only concrete tie to Roswell until now.
When Maria got everything settled in the room, she put her son back into his car seat and drove down the road and into town. She passed the Crashdown, but didn’t think she was up for that much nostalgia just yet. Besides, she didn’t know how she was going to get everyone together, assuming they were still in town, so seeing Liz was only going to create more questions she didn’t know how she was going to answer. So, she drove a little further, down to Senior Chows.
She parked her car in front of the building and she and her son entered the restaurant. Maria was more than surprised when she looked up and saw Liz Parker, of all people, standing at the hostess station. ‘When did she start working here?’ Maria thought.
Liz looked up at the person who’d entered the restaurant. “Maria?!?” she cried, resisting the urge to pull her long lost friend into her arms.
Maria smiled. “Hey Lizzie! What’s up?” Her reaction didn’t seem angry, so that was a start.
“Oh my god…what are you doing here?” Liz asked, her excitement bubbling over. She had been so upset when Maria left without more than a note five years ago. Now, she was back and Liz hoped it was for more than just a visit. It had been hard being the only human girl (or mostly human) around anymore.
Maria was kinda surprised at the question. It wasn’t that she wasn’t expecting it, but it was more of a surprise that Liz seemed just as happy to see her as Maria was to see Liz. “Ummm I’m moving back.” She said simply, looking at her shoes. She hoped it wouldn’t feel this awkward forever.
Liz eyed the blond headed boy holding Maria’s hand and looking back up at Maria before kneeling down at the boy’s side and smiling, “Well who is this,” she asked, tugging on his shirt sleeve.
“This is my son, Michael,” Maria said, a faint smile on her lips.
It all became a little more clear to Liz why Maria had left, and why she hadn’t kept in contact. She didn’t know what she would have done had Max gotten her pregnant in High School. “Michael, that’s a good name.” Liz said with a smile.
The boy smiled and said, “I know. It’s my daddy’s name!”
Maria bit her lip and struggled to make eye contact with Liz. Liz just smiled at her and put her arm around Maria, leading her to a table.

Chapter 2
Maria and little Michael ate in peace, until Liz came and sat down next to Michael. She cut right to the chase and asked, “So, why are you moving back? I mean, don’t get me wrong I’m thrilled, but I am just wondering.”
Maria knew this was coming and she had to bite the bullet eventually. Besides, if Liz was so cool about her leaving, maybe the rest of the group would give her the benefit of the doubt as well. “Umm it’s actually a Czechoslovakian thing.” Maria said with a chuckle, remembering their old term for the ‘aliens.’ “I was actually wondering how much of the old gang is still here.”
“We are all still here.” Liz said, as if there were no other option. “Max and I moved in together a couple of years ago. Isabel is living with Tess. Kyle and Jim still live in their old house. And, umm, Michael’s still in his old apartment.” Liz had always thought Michael held onto that apartment as a sort of way of holding onto Maria.
“Oh wow,” Maria said with a laugh. It seemed like not much changed since she left. “Well, can you do me a favor?” When Liz nodded, Maria continued, “Can you call them all together for a meeting. I know I should talk to Michael first, but I really don’t have the guts.” She admitted.
“Yeah, I can do that. Do you want me to tell them you are back?” Liz asked, brushing her hair out of her face.
“No. Don’t tell them. Okay?” Maria said. She’d prefer the surprise angle. That way, they wouldn’t have time to marinate on the situation and work up real hostility for her. She knew it was stupid, but she was worried the gang was going to hate her, especially when they find out she’s been hiding a kid.
“Yeah, absolutely. How about 8:00pm at Michael’s?” Liz asked.
“That would be great.” Maria smiled warmly at her friend. At least, if all else failed, it seemed she had one ally.
“Well my break is almost up and I got to go. But it’s so good to see you!” Liz said as she hugged her “Bye, Michael!” She waved at the little boy before heading back to her hostess station.
After lunch Maria went back to the hotel to take a nap and a shower. She knew little Michael was tired because he was getting into one of his moods and was starting to irritate her.
*******
She slept longer than she had intended, and didn’t end up waking until 6:00pm. Luckily, Michael was asleep, so she could take a quick shower before he woke up.
By 7:45, she had little Michael strapped into his car seat again and headed down the road to Michael’s apartment. Her hands were shaking, and her palms were sweaty, but she knew she had to do this, if only for little Michael’s sake.
She was so nervous that she almost missed his street. She’s been down this road 1000 times but somehow now it seemed foreign to her now. Finally she got it together and turned into his parking lot.
Meanwhile, in Michael’s apartment, everyone was buzzing. They kept asking Liz what the meeting was about, but she kept saying to chill out, all would be revealed in due time. The thing was, they were all present and accounted for, so no one really knew what they were waiting on.
Suddenly the group heard a knock on the door. “Someone order pizza?” Kyle asked as everyone when into defense mode. It didn’t matter how many years they had lived without FBI drama, it was still natural instinct for them to freak out at the thought of someone discovering their secret.
Liz, knowing who it was, went to the door. There was a single, unified gasp from everyone as they saw Maria standing in front of them. She stepped inside, hugging Liz tentatively. Immediately everyone’s eyes went to the 4 year old boy Maria had by the hand.
Maria had changed over the last five years, they all noticed. She was a little fuller, having gained curves in all the right places. Her hair was long, back to blonde, and lay in loose curls around her face and down her back. But she was still every bit as beautiful as she always had been, if not more so.
Maria saw changes in each of her friends as well. Liz looked a little older, but still as pretty as ever. Max looked almost exactly the same as he always had, only maybe a little less stressed than the last time she saw him. Tess was wearing her hair straight now, and it looked good on her. She had a warmth about her that wasn’t there back in high school. Kyle had at least gotten better taste in clothing, though he hadn’t aged a day. Isabel looked like she stepped right out of a fashion magazine. Maria didn’t know how it was possible, but Isabel looked more beautiful than she ever had.
Then there was Michael. His hair was short. He must have grown out of that long hair phase. He was beautiful. Maria could tell he had been taking care of himself. His muscles were more defined, his whole presence oozed of sexiness, and more than that, maturity.
“Maria,” Isabel exclaimed rushing to her giving her a hug. She’d missed her friend so much when she left. Isabel had never gotten that close to Liz, and Tess was hard to get to know sometimes. Maria had truly been her closet girlfriend.
“Hey,” Maria replied awkwardly, but she gave into the hug, starting to feel a little better.
Michael couldn’t keep his eyes off of the boy clinging to Maria’s leg. That kid meant two things. Either, Michael was the father, and if so, he’d missed out on five years of his life. Or, Maria had someone new in her life that she had created a child with. Both options were slightly disturbing.
“Mommy, who are all these people,” the little boy asked, peeking from behind her.
“These, are mommy’s friends,” she said to him, hoping that they still would consider her a friend.
Everyone looked at each other. Liz tried to get everyone back on the task at hand. “It was Maria who asked me to call this meeting,” she said. “I ran into her at work, and she wanted to talk to all of us.”
“Well, what’s going on?” Max asked concerned. Maria had left without so much as a goodbye. Now, she was back five years later, and chances were there was a reason.
“Ummm,” Maria said and then leaned down to her son, “Baby, do you think you could go sit in the kitchen for a minute.” What she had to say, he really wouldn’t understand and he didn’t need to be around to see this if it got ugly.
Liz picked up the hint. “I’ll take him.” She said, with a smile as she led him into Michael’s bedroom, and shut the door. Whatever Maria was back for, she could find out later.
Maria looked down at her hands, nervously, before speaking again. “Umm, you think we could all sit down?” she said with a nervous chuckle as she took a seat on one of the stools at the bar. They all took seats, and waited for her to explain. “Ok, well first of all, let me explain why I left Roswell without saying goodbye to you all.”
Maria took a deep breath, this wasn’t going to be easy. She just needed to rip off the band aid. Isabel could see that she was struggling, so she walked over to her and put her arm around the nervous Maria. “It’s ok, Maria. Whatever you have to say, we are here with you.”
Maria smiled and continued, “Well, my mom and I moved to Denver because I was pregnant. She didn’t let me keep in contact with all of you because she was afraid I would get hurt. Besides the fact that she was not at all pleased that her teenage daughter was following in her footsteps. Then when I moved out, I figured you guys would not forgive me.” She admitted. “But something alien related has come up.” She said, averting eye contact from anyone.
Kyle, who had never been overly tactful, asked the question on everyone’s mind, “Is the kid Michael’s?”
She knew it was a legitimate question, “Yes, he is.” She answered honestly, looking up at Michael for some sort of reaction. His stone wall was up, but she could see in his eyes that he was battling his emotions.
Michael was speechless. He had loved Maria with his whole heart. He had shown her parts of himself he kept hidden from even Max an Isabel. He was so hurt when she left. But now he understood. But he was still hurt that she hadn’t told him until now. There were years he’d lost with his son that he would never get back. He could kill Amy for making Maria move.
“I’m sorry you thought we would be mad,” Isabel said, squeezing Maria closer. She wasn’t mad, she was just hurt that Maria felt she had to keep this from them.
Max felt the same way. He knew that Maria and Michael still loved each other, he was just upset that Maria felt that that love wasn’t strong enough to withstand this.
Kyle was happy to have Maria back. She’d always been like a sister to him, and he’d missed her when she left. She was the one person that he best related to in the group.
Tess never got to know Maria well, but she knew what he leaving had done to the group, and she could understand why Maria did what she did, even if it wasn’t the smartest thing to do.
Finally Max asked, “So what is the alien related problem.”
“Well, it’s not really a problem,” Maria answered slowly, “it’s more of a situation. Little Michael, that’s his name, has developed powers, and I don’t know how to teach him to harness them and use them and things like that. That’s one of the reasons we are moving here.” She knew it was just a matter of time before her son used his powers in public and that would put them all in danger.
“What’s the other reason?” Kyle asked. He always did like to get right to the point.
“Well, Michael has been asking about his father, and family. I wanted him to know who you were, who all of you are because you have been such an important part of my life.” Tears were welling up in her eyes. “Not to mention, I’m tired of living alone. I missed you guys.” She finally admitted.
Isabel gave her a tight squeeze and a smile. “I know this may be too much to ask,” Maria said, “but I’m really sorry for leaving. I know it will be hard or impossible for you to forgive me, but don’t take it out on little Michael, ok?” He was part of their family.
Michael finally spoke, “I don’t see where there is anything to forgive. You did what anyone of us would have done. And I would love to get to know my son.” He gave her a supportive smile. He knew he’d run off before, he couldn’t imagine how he would have reacted to finding out he was pregnant his senior year of high school.
“I’ll go get him.” Maria said with a bright smile, so happy that they wanted her and Michael in their lives. Liz, Maria, and little Michael returned from the bedroom.
“I like Aunty Liz, mommy. She’s pretty.” They heard a little voice say, and they all laughed.
“You’ve got a lot more family out here, baby.” Maria said, holding back tears of pure joy.
Suddenly little Michael spotted Michael standing in the middle of the room. “Daddy?” he screamed as he ran toward him. Maria hadn’t expected him to recognize Michael. She’d only shown him a picture, but maybe it was in his genes.
Michael picked up the child in his arms and said, “Yeah, it’s daddy.” He said, outwardly crying tears of joy. Their friends looked on and smiled at the happy reunion in front of them. They were one big happy family again. Maria felt complete for the first time since she left Roswell.

Re: You Can Go Home Again (CC, M/M, Adult) Pt 2/3 6/24/08
Chapter 3
The old gang stayed together, catching up, and talking until the early morning. Little Michael had fallen asleep in Isabel’s lap not long after their arrival, and everyone noted how much he looked like a perfet mixture of Maria and Michael. He had Maria’s green eyes and blond hair, but he had his daddy’s crooked smirk, and they caught him, a number of times, scratching his brow they way his father always did.
Finally Liz got up, with a yawn, and said, “Well, I better be going. I’ve got to work early in the morning.”
Maria remembered what she’d wanted to ask her earlier in the day, “Why don’t you work at the Crash anymore?”
Liz had wondered when Maria was going to ask. She smirked and said, “It’s a long story, but how about we talk about it over some Ben n’ Jerry’s sometime?”
“I’m there,” Maria said with a smile, happy to have her family back. Liz’s departure seemed to be the cue for everyone else to leave. Max and Kyle got up and said there goodbyes and left. Isabel and Tess also got up and turned to Michael and Maria, “So, where are you staying, Maria?” Isabel asked.
“At the Tumbleweed.” Maria answered.
Michael really wanted her to stay with him. He wanted to be alone with her. They had so much time to make up for, and he wanted to be sure that she wanted that as much as he did. It was time they laid their cards out on the table.
Isabel seemed to read Michael’s mind. “Well, I was thinking, that you and Michael probably have a lot to talk about. And you probably want to do that without the rest of us here. So, why we take little Michael for the night, and you guys can uhhh…get reacquainted.” Isabel smirked. Tess tried to hide her grin, too, but she couldn’t.
Maria knew exactly what Isabel was getting at, but she was right. They did need to talk. And, if it turned into more than talking, she was okay with that. She silently chastised herself for thinking about sex at a time like this. But the two were linked. She and Michael had always had a very physical relationship, even when they were not sleeping together. And she would be lying if she said she didn’t miss the way he used to touch her.
Finally, Maria answered, “Yeah, okay. I mean , if that’s okay with you.” She said looking at Michael for an answer.
He tried to mask his outright excitement at the thought, “Yeah, we need to talk anyway,” he said.
Maria turned to Isabel, “Alright, well, sometimes he uses his powers because he doesn’t know what they are yet. So, don’t freak out, ok?”
“Ok, I think I can handle it,” Isabel said with a smirk before she scooped up the sleeping child and she and Tess walked out of the door.
Maria turned back to Michael, “So, it’s just us.” She said, again nervous. He could feel her nervousness engulfing him. He wanted to grab her in his arms and kiss all her insecurities away. But he knew now was not the time for that. Now, was the time for them to talk. So, that’s what he did.
“As you know, Maria, I’m not one to spill my guts and talk about my feelings, but I think we need to talk because I want you to know how I feel.” He didn’t want her to have any question about his intentions.
Maria looked at him, “How do you feel?” she asked, hoping to get the answer she’d been waiting for for five years.
“I feel like that happiest and saddest man in the entire world all at the same time. I’m so happy because you are back in my life and have brought me a son. But I’m also incredibly sad, for lack of a better word, because I’ve missed four years of his life; five years of your life. I’m angry because you couldn’t come to me when you needed me most. But then again, I’m ecstatic that you have come to me now because I still love you. I have always loved you. And I always will love you. I know you probably did not come back to start our relationship back up. But I just need you to know how I feel. I’m never going to leave you, again.” Michael hoped his pitch was enough to get her to stay with him.
Maria’s eyes filled with tears, as she tried to explain the emotions running through her, “I’m so sorry. I’m sorry that I left, and that when I got the chance to call you I didn’t because I was too scared. I wish everyday that I could go back and tell my mother that she could not keep you out of my life, or Michael’s. But I didn’t. I wasn’t strong enough then. It hurts to see that I’ve been the cause of this pain in you.” She took a deep breath and continued, “No, I didn’t come back to restart our relationship because I didn’t think it was fair for me to ask you to drop everything for me. But I love you too. I’ve always loved you. That is why I haven’t even thought about dating another guy since I left. I always knew that no one could affect me the way you did. I can’t settle for second best.” She explained, turning her lips into a smile.
Michael had worried that his feelings were not entirely reciprocated. He was relieved to find that she loved him the way that he had always loved her. He had to question it, with her leaving, but she was back and she wanted him, even after all this time.
He took his chances and leaned closer into her, was relieved when he felt her moving in closer to him. They were centimeters from each other and he could feel her breath, coming out in pants against his face.
“Do you want to try this again,” she whispered, against his lips. Her husky voice made him shudder.
“Yes,” he said, confidently, before he bridged the gap between them and captured her lips in is. They had both been waiting for this for five years and it lived up to the expectation and then some.
Their energies were flowing into each other as Maria wrapped her arms tightly around Michael, feeling the need to anchor herself or she might float away. She parted her lips to allow Michael access to the inside of her mouth.
Michael groaned with pleasure at the feeling of her body under his hands and her sweet taste inside his mouth. He wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her in closer to him. Their bodies were pressed together, and he could feel her pert nipples against the thin fabric of their clothes.
Their kisses grew passionate and hungry, and Michael began to move Maria toward the bedroom. As they reached it, Maria began pulling off Michael’s shirt. He lifted his arms above his head, and soon the garment was discarded on the floor behind him.
Michael quickly turned Maria around and found the zipper of her sundress. He pulled it down in one fluid motion, and it dropped in a pool at her feel. She stepped out of it and kicked the offending garment behind her. She was now only clothed in her white bra and lace thong. All of this might be moving too fast, but she really didn’t care anymore.
Michael stared at her. She was more beautiful than he remembered her. But suddenly he was struck with the thought that he may be moving too fast for her. He didn’t want to scare her off. “We don’t have to… you know…if you’re not ready.” He explained. God, he wanted to, but he wanted her to feel comfortable more than he wanted sex.
Maria immediately reached for his belt buckle and smiled, “Michael, I’ve been dreaming about this moment for five years. I’m ready.” She said, unzipping his pants leaving him only in his boxers. He took her mouth in his again, kissing her more slowly this time. He wanted to savor every moment of this.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in close to her as he backed her up toward the bed. As her knees hit the edge of his mattress she fell onto it, pulling her with him. He took the opportunity to unhook her bra and let her breast free from their confines.
She ran her hands up his chest feeling his muscles contract and move as he touched her. She had memorized his body long ago, but he was now more defined than he had been five years ago.
As she moved her hands around to his broad shoulders, Michael took a nipple into his mouth, nipping at it then soothing it with his tongue. Maria let out a breathy moan and called his name, reverently. Michael always loved hearing his name on her lips, whether they were fighting or making love, it always turned him on.
He moved his hand down her body and in between her legs, feeling the already wet material of her lace panties. She ground her hips into his; trying to scratch the itch she’d had, perpetually, for five years. He moved down her body and pulled her thong down her long legs.
Maria, following his lead, reached for the waistband of his boxers, pulling them down in one clean motion as Michael kicked them off the bed. Michael moved back up to her mouth. “You are so beautiful,” he said, looking down at her like she was a goddess.
She looked up at him and smiled warmly. “So are you.” She said simply before reaching up to kiss him again.
Michael’s cock brushed against her wet folds and he groaned at the sensation.
Maria couldn’t wait any longer, “Please, Michael…” she pleaded, needing him inside her immediately.
He obeyed, guiding the head of his cock into her tight slick folds. Maria let out a gasp, as he entered her completely, feeling him stretch her again for the first time in years. Michael was afraid he was hurting her, “You ok?” he ask with concern on his face as he tried to hold his instincts together.
“Better than ok, I just forgot how perfect you feel inside me,” she almost moaned.
He thrust into her slowly at first, wanting to take his time. His body was telling him to pump into her with all her had, but he figured if he had waited five years for this, he could take his time now. Besides, he wanted to prolong this feeling as long as possible.
However, they were both rapidly reaching their breaking point. Michael sped up his pace little by little until they were both bucking into each other wildly. “Oh God, Maria!” Michael groaned, digging his fingers into her hips as he held her in place.
She let out a long moan as she felt her climax approach. Her walls constricted around his cock, and she moaned his name at the top of her lungs.
Michael’s couldn’t hold it together any longer. As she clamped down around him and clutched him tightly to her, he came, deep inside her, calling her name into the silky flesh of her neck.
He rolled off of her, as soon as he was able to get his wits about him again, and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace.
They continued to make love the rest of the night, sleeping for only minutes in between. They had the rest of their lives to sleep. Tonight they needed to get reacquainted.
THE END.
