Title: The Mystery Stain
Pairing: Michael/Liz
Rating: Teen
Disclaimer: The characters of "Roswell" belong to Jason Katims, Melinda Metz, WB, and UPN. They are not mine.
Summary: It's a Polar version of what could have been happening in the 'So I Married an Alien' 50's-estic style episode parts.
Author's Notes: Totally Burningchaos and Jake17's faults. I was just making a joke that it would be funny if someone wrote it. And so what if I wrote like a few paragraphs of it to mock them with it... I wasn't going to really write it... Till they said I had to. LOL. So it is. It's just a fluffy little crack-fic. I'm amused by it. Burningchaos is an amazing beta, btw.
Max looked down for the glass cleaner. His eyes widened in shock as a stain glared at him from Michael’s seat. It was there, plain as day. The glass cleaner forgotten as Max rushed out of the space ship.
Michael wasn’t hard to find, getting to him was a bit more difficult. Especially since Liz’s Dad hated him. ‘Seriously, you make one small error in judgment with the Law, and no one lets it go.’ Max pouted. He wanted to know what that stain was. It was going to set or already had, and his deep cleaning device was on the blink again due to Michael spilling Cherry Coke on it. His second knew he was banned from drinking in the spaceship since that incident but apparently he hadn’t listened, once again.
He tried to signal for Liz to come out so he could ask her to get Michael. He sighed in annoyance as Liz shook her head, and pointed in the direction of her father. He wrung his hands in worry, the stain could be settling deeper in the fabric as he tried to get Michael’s attention.
He was practically giddy when Michael finally asked for a quick break, and walked out to meet him.
“Maxwell, you know you can’t come around here anymore. Liz is off limits.” Michael pointed out, annoyed from being pulled from his job.
“What did you spill in the ship?” Max started, cutting Michael off from continuing his rant. “I mean, first you lose your yoyo in the quantum matrix, and now you get a stain on the seat! What are you thinking?!” Max threw his hands up in the air. “I need to know what I’m going to have to set the deep cleaner for, while hoping it works. Also, your fault.”
“I dropped my soda on it.” Michael tried to look innocent as he remembered the night before.
“I know you did. That’s why the deep cleaner is on the blink to begin with.” Max huffed.
“No, I meant the seat.” Michael tried to keep the smile from his face.
The night of the stain…
Liz looked out the glass lid of the space ship. “Are you sure the cloak is working?”
“I know how to flip a switch. Believe me, Max makes this seem like it’s a lot harder then it is.” Michael pulled Liz into his lap. “So, when are we going to let Max know that he isn’t top alien anymore?”
“Michael, I’m not dating Max anymore. He just seems to believe that we are.” Liz nipped at his neck.
“So we aren’t telling him, are we?” Michael couldn’t keep the disappointment from his tone.
“Michael,” Liz pulled the pins from her hair. “I didn’t say we can’t tell him. I just said Max and I weren’t together anymore. Hence the idea of him being top alien doesn’t factor in. We can tell him when you think he’s ready.”
“He’ll be ready next to never.” Michael snorted.
“I think here we are, sitting in a space ship, and I haven’t had any experiments preformed on me. I’m feeling kind of left out.” Liz started to unbutton her shirt.
“As the only alien on this ship, I must do my civic duty.” Michael kissed Liz has she pulled her shirt off.
Michael shook off the memory, as Max looked at him like he was a freak. “I was just remembering last time I got to take the car for a spin.”
“It’s not a car. This is one of the most delicate pieces of machinery in this galaxy. Mostly because the monkeys on this planet have barely learned how to walk upright, but that’s beside the point.” Max waved off the thought.
“So that’s all Liz was? A walking, talking monkey? That’s a great way to win her back.” Michael tried not to laugh.
“Liz is different…” Max started to explain.
Liz walked out to hear Max’s comment about the space ship. “Max, you aren’t getting anywhere near my ‘monkey’ ass.”
Max whirled around and blushed. “Hi Liz.”
Liz just looked at him, and then turned to Michael. “Did you tell him?”
“I told him it was soda.” Michael looked away.
“Then I’m not the one ashamed of the other.” Liz shook her head, and walked back into the restaurant.
“What the hell was that?” Max looked back to Michael. “Do you think Liz thinks I’m ashamed that she’s human? Because I think she’s swell.”
“Yeah, Max, because it’s always about you. Well, I’m dating Liz. Her dad approves. What do you think of that?” Michael blew up. He was tired of Max thinking that Liz was eventually going to be his again. He was tired of hiding, and he knew Liz was too.
“What?” Max blinked confused. “You were dating Maria.”
“That was before Maria decided that she was all about the free love, and started to give it to every guy in Roswell.” Michael shook his head. “You didn’t even notice, did you?”
“She’s a good friend.” Max shook his head.
“Well, ask her nicely and she’ll blow you too.” Michael was snide and tired of Max’s inability to see beyond himself.
“Are you sure Liz and you are dating? It’s not just her way of throwing her father off my trail?” Max looked confused.
“Considering that we had sex in the ship, I don’t think our dating has anything to do with you.” Michael rolled his eyes. He just wanted Max to let go. It was over, and he needed to move on.
“You didn’t have sex with Liz. She’s saving herself. That’s what she told me.” Max crossed his arms, tired of the game Michael was playing.
“That’s because you asked her about it while the police were chasing you. How thick headed can you get?” Michael shook his head. “I love her. She loves me. Give up, and let us be happy, Maxwell.”
“But she loves me…” Max sighed.
“She loved you. It’s over, let go. I have to get back to work.” Michael looked back at the diner to see Liz’s dad wave him in. “Jeff needs me to keep cooking. Goodbye, Max.”
Max stood there for a moment before throwing his hands in the air, and walked back to the ship muttering about the stain setting and no one telling him the truth.
