What was your "Breakthrough Fic"?
This topic came to me after I read something on the awards forum. Authors, do you feel there is one fic you've posted, whether it was your best work or not, that helped you get onto the map of Roswell fanfiction and become more well-known around the board? If so, what was that fic and why do you think it was such a breakthrough fic for you? Feel free to brag yourself up! We all need to do that from time to time.

I think my breakthrough fic was Here be Dragons. It got a lot of really great feedback and won a few awards. I think people liked it because it was different from other fics as it had the alien and ghost elements in it.

Gold diggers, I guess. But I don't know if that counts.

Never In Doubt I guess. Though it wasn't that popular, it did ok. I suppose since it was on the board for long enough that a couple of people took notice. It won a few awards, which was nice. I've written better fics, but I think it was the start of me writing fics that didn't completely suck.

Why wouldn't it? Such a huge fic.nibbles2 wrote:Gold diggers, I guess. But I don't know if that counts.
Alison, I haven't gotten around to reading Never In Doubt yet--I'm still trying to get caught up on Hiding Beneath and I'm doing pretty good on that--but I've heard a lot of good things about NID so I'll be reading that soon.
I read this one way after everyone else did, but it was really great. Usually I drift away from alien/supernatural elements in fics, but not in yours. It was really well done.tequathisy wrote:I think my breakthrough fic was Here be Dragons. It got a lot of really great feedback and won a few awards. Yeah, it's pretty obvious. For me, I think it was the fic Crusaders' Night that gained me a few fans, but it was really not well written at all. I did a horrible job with a unique storyline. But obviously Passion was my breakthrough fic. There's, like, no contest.candysteffi wrote:Well, I definitely know yours, April!![]()

Darling girl, I've never read anything of yours that sucked.Rowedog wrote:Never In Doubt I guess. Though it wasn't that popular, it did ok. Dude...why wouldn't it? You're nuts if you think it doesn't.nibbles2 wrote:Gold diggers, I guess. But I don't know if that counts.

Dean: Damn cops.
Sam: They were just doing their job.
Dean: No, they were doing our job, only they don't know it so they suck at it.

To be honest I don't think I have a 'breakthrough fic'
I think most people know me more from the ten zillion challenges I put out.

Well, it's probably We Hate Men for me. It's funny because I don't consider it my best fic at all.
