The Created
In the Control Room of Stargate Command the technician reports: “Chevron 7 is encoded.”
WHOOSH is heard through out the control room and an outgoing wormhole has been established. SG-1 approaches the Stargate. Colonel O’Neill looks up to the Control Room and General Hammond turns on the mike. “SG-1 you have a go.”
Colonel O’Neill salutes and waves his team, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Major Samantha Carter, and the Jaffa Teal’c, through the Stargate. P-90’s at the ready, they step onto P4X-631. Colonel O’Neill takes a quick survey and quips, “Guess what, kids? It’s another green planet. The purple sky is a nice touch tho.”
Major Carter informs O’Neill, “Sir, the UAV showed a city ten clicks east of here.”
O’Neill takes a moment to enjoy the early spring day the sun is shining and the air had not yet lost the early morning crispness. “Alright campers let’s move out. Teal’c take point,” orders O’Neill, “and I’ll watch our six.”
As Teal’c leads the way through the foliage, Dr. Jackson and Major Carter discuss the city they receive periodic glimpses of. Soon they approach the city gates. O’Neill orders Daniel forward to make contact with the locals.
Smiling Daniel approaches one of the guards. “Hello, my name is Daniel Jackson. We are peaceful explorers from Earth and we would like to talk to your leaders.”
The guard looks at the imposing bulk of the Jaffa Teal’c. “Peaceful explorers, eh? Then why do you carry weapons?”
Daniel is taken aback by the question and looks to Jack for an answer.
“Doesn’t matter. You cannot enter the city carrying weapons,” the guard smirks.
Jack starts to protest but Daniel cuts him off. “We understand. Do you have someone who can take us to your leader?”
The guard says, “Rab, take your unit and escort these visitors to our Lord, King Khivar.”
SG-1 follows Rab on a winding trek through the city. The signs of decay are obvious. Buildings are scorched and falling apart. The people are worn and gray. The stench of rotting waste wafts through the air. SG-1 is entering a war zone.
Rab leads them to a more heavily guarded gate. Rab approaches a man wearing a lot of medals and says, “Captain, these people are here to see Lord Khivar.”
The Captain asks, “Do you have an appointment?”
Daniel answers, “No, we are explorers from Earth and we wanted…”
The Captain’s head snaps up. “From Earth?” Daniel nods an affirmative. He steps into an office and has a brief conversation.
“Guys, I don’t like this,” warns O’Neill.
When the Captain returns he says, “His Majesty will see you now. Rab, I’ll take it from here. Return to your post.”
SG-1 follows the Captain inside the gate and onto the palace grounds. The beauty of the lush garden is overpowering after the devastation of the city. They quietly follow the Captain for he has ignored all of Daniel’s attempts at conversation.
As SG-1 enters the palace, Teal’c and Major Carter tense as they sense a Goa‘uld, but it is too late for they are surrounded.
Teal’c scrutinizes the guards and reports, “O’Neill, none of them bear the markings of any known system Lord.”
SG-1 is brought to the throne room to meet his majesty King Khivar. The guards hit them on the backs of their knees and order them to kneel before their god. The Captain approaches Lord Khivar to report. “These humans claim to be from the planet Earth.”
“I do not recognize any of these earthlings from the reports. Who are they?” Khivar asks.
The Captain looks at Daniel pointedly. “I am Dr. Daniel Jackson, to my left is Colonel Jack O’Neill, Major Samantha Carter, and Teal’c.”
Lord Khivar points to Teal’c. “You bear the insignia of Apophis. For what reason are you on my planet?”
With the barest hint of a smile Teal’c replies, “The false god, Apophis, is dead.”
The shock to Khivar is evident. “I must think on this. But first, why are you in the company of Earthlings?”
Teal’c replies with his deep calm voice. “The Tauri are peaceful explorers who wish to meet new peoples.”
Khivar scoffs, “Earthlings peaceful? Your kind is causing me…never mind. Who do you represent?”
Teal’c answers, “The United States government.”
“So, you are here about the Royal Four! Place them in the dungeon. I’ll question them when I am done with the other human.”
Confused Jack asks, “The royal who?”
Daniel tries to placate Khivar but he just enrages him further. Khivar orders, “Take them now.”
“At once my lord.” The guard bows and leads SG-1 on the way to the dungeon.
A few hours later SG-1 hears the guards returning to their cell. They are dragging a person between them. The body is thrown into the cell with SG-1. The guard warns, “This is what happens to humans who don’t cooperate!”
Teal’c picks the petite woman up and places her on the cot. As her long hair falls away from her face, they gasp in shock at the bruised and bloody mess before them. Carter’s knowledge of field medicine is not nearly enough to patch the woman up.
After Carter finishes her examination Jack asks, “Is she a Goa’uld?”
“No, Sir.”
Daniel adds, “Jack, she must be the other human Khivar was talking about.”
“Indeed, Daniel Jackson, I believe you are correct,” agrees Teal’c.
Jack asks Carter, “How is she?”
“She appears to have several cracked ribs, contusions to the face and chest, lacerations to the face, chest, and back. There are burn marks on her hands and feet. I think her shoulder is dislocated and her ankle is broken.”
Jack wears, “Damn! Who is she? How did she get here from Earth? That snake believes we are with her and the royal whoevers. Until she wakes up with answers, we are screwed!”
