Part One: A Beginning Is Such A Delicate Thing
“Well I hope she’s stronger than she appears, she’ll have to be if she wants to keep our dear Emperor occupied,” came the malicious statement from the young woman.
“You are too cruel, Elizavetar, too cruel, don’t speak those words beyond these halls or you might land yourself in trouble,” admonished her companion.
Elizavetar turned away from the scene they had been discussing and towards Mariana, “trust me dear friend, no harm shall ever come to me. I am after all under the emperor’s own protection. This wretched seal is useful for something atleast.”
“There is no love lost between you and the Royal is there?” Marianna responded quietly.
“None. They will learn soon what it is to cross House Mornia,” she responded dangerously.
“It wouldn’t take to going around announcing that Elize, even the walls have ears,” spoke a voice from the dark. Marianna turned violently toward the intrusion while Elizavetar returned to watching the Ascension as if nothing had happened.
“Kalian! You scared me! Don’t do that again,” Marianna scolded knowing that it was useless; she had already lost him to Elizavetar. He was watching her watch the crowds below as they stood on one of the many balconies of the High Towers of Palladian looking down at the Ascension taking place in the Great Hall below.
She was quite a beauty, many had tried and been refused, she had given her hand in marriage to none, especially after what had happened to her. A scar only marred her perfection. It ran across one brow and set her apart from the rest. The mask of indifference that she wore always hid the depths of her charcoal eyes and her midnight hair hid her form completely. Hair like that was marvelled, it went down below her knees and brushed gently across the floor. Her form in itself was an improvement on perfection but it was hidden from view by her gossamer gown of pure white that made her look like one of those ancient priestesses who were worshipped still.
If you saw her, you would think she was a fragile flower, to be protected in a glass case and kept away from harm. It wasn’t until you saw that unique scar would you know that she was something else. She was nobility as her stance showed but there was much debate on her mother’s parentage. Many claimed that Elizavetar’s mother had been descended from the Ancients; others claimed that her mother was a pretty peasant, but her parentage could not be denied. She was her father’s child, his second but she was his heir as her brother had refused the mantle of House to be loyal to the Throne of Antar. As the scar proclaimed, she ruled House Mornia in her father’s name and she took part in the Wars of Ascension as the first ever woman Warrior-General of Antar.
That was one of the many reasons it was not her but her dear cousin Avaria that was married to the Crown Prince. She had been his betrothed until she had returned to face the shock of her life, her fiancé being married off to someone else.
Emperor Zanier had made a promise to her father the night she was born, that she, Elizavetar would be Queen to his young son, Zander but as fate would have it or the Dowager Empress’s meddling, she was left here to watch while Zander stood proud next to his young bride, Avaria of Real, one of the five ruling planets of House Antar and the most important ally in the Wars. It was a good political manoeuvre, she had to appreciate that, but she did not approve of the way her father’s word was disregarded and how she had been made a fool of. Down below the courtiers scanned the crowd for her presence, as one of nobility it was her duty to be present at this great event.
The Dowager noticed with interest that Elizavetar of Rage had snubbed them by not being in attendance and this would have been a call for execution if it wasn’t for the fact that she was thought to be heart-broken and spending her days and nights in grief at her own father’s untimely demise and her betrothed’s betrayal. The rumours spoke of how Elizavetar was bordering on insanity by not eating nor sleeping, only huddled in a foetal position in the corner of her private chambers just mumbling nonsense to herself. The Dowager Empress believed otherwise.
As little as she had known of Elizavetar, she knew that she was not a weakling but a force to be reckoned with and so soon after her own husband’s sad death on the battlefield, her own position was not as stable as before. If Elizavetar chose to turn her back on Antar, she might be able to. Though traitor she would be branded, not many would be likely to blame her for it.
Another scandal would rock the Throne and this fodder could occupy the courtiers for months but also affect the Wars. As she continued to scan the crowds and the lined courtiers, the Dowager turned her face up towards the heavens and caught a glimpse of Elizavetar standing on one of the balconies with her attendants and watching the proceedings. Even at this distance she caught the malicious smile on that pretty face and saw her notice the Dowager’s attention and wave to her. The Dowager in her position on the dais stiffened her posture realizing that the friendly wave was a forewarning of the times to come.
Her daughter who stood by her noticed and Vilandra quietly reached for her mother‘s hand and squeezed it gently, believing incorrectly that she was still dealing with the grief caused by her husband’s death. It would have shocked her to know that the Dowager had some hand in her own husband’s death, and scared her to know that to her mother everything was a commodity to be bartered or destroyed when profits turned to losses.
It wouldn’t have shocked the Dowager to know that Elizavetar of Rage thought almost the same way...
Part Two: The Past Is The Past And Always A Dream
The history of the ruling house of Antar, Zanaan is ancient and bloody, and some might say even quite uninspiring. After all House Zanaan did not produce any ruler worthy of the title it laid claim to, the Throne of Antar was given to it by mere chance rather than as a result of any great military campaign.
The story goes this way, long ago the Ancient and Most Admirable Ruling House Araina, was plagued by a disease never known before and never seen again. In those times there was no name for it but now when the Oral Histories have been studied thoroughly and that one element remained undefined, they call it ‘Wanderlust’. It is named thus because there was no other word to describe the disease and in the ancient tongue it was a curse upon souls of its entire people.
House Araina is gone now, if the Histories are to be believed, because some think they are nothing but an exaggerated version of the past. It is understood that House Araina chose to flee from its responsibilities as the ruling House of Antar. There is a belief that the then Heir of Araina felt that freedom was a gift above all others and he chose to take his people with him on a journey into a land where they walked without footprints.
House Araina gave up all rights to the Throne of Antar to House Zanaan in the hope that it would lead Antar into a golden age. But sadly, all that caused were bloody feuds and grudges that have held for more than million of solar.
The Prophecy proclaims that someday House Araina will return for the Granolith that belonged to it. Though the Granolith is worshipped and revered as the ultimate source of power in the Universe, only House Araina has the key to control this awesome force. That is another reason why even now the five ruling planets of Antar form alliances against each other.
By marrying Avaria of Real, House Zanaan has gained an ally against Kh’var; this will make them stronger on the battlefields of space where the Wars of Ascension continue. It is a vulnerable truce that lets House Zanaan sit on the Throne of Antar and even now rebellion is brewing, for besides Real with House Raeler; the other three planets, Andiron, Arct and Raere are poised to strike against House Zanaan. Their respective ruling houses of Edam, Rican and Roan, led by Overlord Kh’var are militarily at a disadvantage because with Raeler on Antar’s side, there is a chance that Kh’var will be defeated.
House Antar and House Real are lead by Emperor Zander but Lion General Rathan former heir to the House Mornia commands their joint forces. House Mornia is another Great House that is linked to Antar by its place as second-in-command to House Raeler on Real. The leader of this Great House, Rage is succeeded by his daughter Elizavetar who takes her father’s name in honour of becoming the first-ever female heir to a Great House. With this distinction falls to her a position in the Great Army of Antar-Real and thus she leads a quarter of the force into battle against Kh’var’s Allied Rebels. There are interlinking myths and legends that proclaim that someday, a Warrior of God will come and bring Serenity to the Throne of Antar. Most believe it is the Lion General Rathan who is the culmination of this promise.
Because Elizavetar of Rage was promised to Zander of Antar and that promise was broken, questions arise as to whether she will forgive House Antar or escape with her people to join forces with the Allied Rebels. It would not make much of a difference in statistics and military capabilities, for she brought only a few of her people into the Great Army but the wound to the morale of the forces might be significant...
“What is the great lesson in this pointless lecture on the history of the Wars of Ascension? Why in Grano’s name do I have to study this over and over again? I mean this is the most boring subject ever. Who cares, it doesn’t really matter how the Wars began. All that matters is how they end. With Rath on our side there is no chance of defeat,” declared the Princess Royal holding her head high.
“Sadly it is this very quality that is turning the tide of these Wars against us, your Royal,” replied her tutor quietly.
“What do you mean?” Vilandra asked indignantly and turned towards Alesan. For a moment he could not reply, her exquisite beauty overpowered all his verbal skills that were believed to be quite formidable. Alesan had written those awe-inspiring speeches for the Emperor Zanier that would raise the spirits of Antar and make them see victory even against overwhelming odds. And here he was turned into a speechless fool because he was in love with a woman he could never have.
“Your Royal, there is always the element of surprise, the twist of Fate, for it is not up to us but the Grano to decide our destinies,” he answered after a lengthy and uncomfortable silence. “You must not make such bold statements without proving them, Royal, they would not do in the company of courtiers.”
“Yes, yes, I understand that but what do you mean? Rath strikes fear into the heart of all those who oppose us. It is heard that even Overlord Kh’var does not dare cross him,” Vilandra stated returning to the holo-proj.
“Rumours are not facts, Your Royal, that is today’s lesson. You must learn as the Princess Royal, to decipher the truth hidden in falsehood. You must learn to see with your mind instead of your senses, for though the physical world may deceive you, the spiritual never will. Let Grano show you the way, your Royal, let it be your Guide,” Alesan replied soothingly.
“So how’s it going, Lonnie, any progress on the lesson?” interrupted Rath as he strode in towards the library with vials of stratagems laid in his arms. He deposited them on the holo-proj table and turned to brush a kiss over his fiancée’s forehead. Alesan tried to conceal his hurt and jealousy as he watched the Princess return the gesture by throwing her arms around Rath and showering kisses all over his face.
“Rath, thank Grano you came when you did, this lesson was so boring. I can’t believe I’m supposed to know so much of the past, it shouldn’t matter so much,” she exclaimed. “Aw, come on Lonnie, you know how important this is. I had to study all the way back to the Hidden Mysteries before I was allowed to take the Test of Faith. This just starts from House Araina, and then it’s just your own House. How bad could that be?” he asked.
“Humph, what do you know? You’re the Lion General; you probably know this stuff backwards. Rath why can’t we go outside, enjoy the Gardens, I don’t want to be stuck in here anymore,” she pleaded with her beautiful blue eyes.
Rath could not deny Vilandra anything and with one gesture to Alesan, he led the Princess Royal out of the library. Alesan stood staring at the doors and turned to gather vials and put them in their rightful place. It disturbed him that the Princess Royal was so uninterested in the Oral Histories. These were the main reason for his own existence; they had fascinated him since childhood.
Because of the Histories, he thought bitterly, he couldn’t even really hate Rathan; after all, his father was a great leader and Rathan was already becoming a legend. It surprised him that the last reel had been quite different from the others; he’d picked it out of the collection because it was a recent summary produced by one of the Great Scholars.
It was a personal opinion on the current state of the Throne of Antar but what surprised Alesan was the fact that it had passed through the censors. This reel had nothing great to say about House Antar, House Zanaan and this came as quite a shock. He turned to the directories to check for the producer’s name and under all the information; on the screen before him it appeared, Elizavetar of Rage, Heir House Mornia, Heir Apparent Ancient House Araina...

Part Three: The Bonds Of Destiny
“Father! Father! No!” her scream echoed across the valley and swept over the fields of dead spread beneath her feet as she ran to the fallen figure. The storm raged behind her and the wind howled at her, it drowned her wailing, silenced her tears. It was an eternity before she reached his side, wading through those dead and dying on the frozen battlefield. She stretched her arms as he fell into them and the weight of his dying body made her fall to her knees. She kneeled before him, his head cradled in her arms and leaned down as he grasped her tunic and brought her face towards his own.
His face was so clear, only the eyes that shed tears of blood showed that he was on the edge of Doom. Every time he tried to speak he coughed up phlegm and blood that dribbled down his front, it took him some time to form words and draw out sounds.
“It is for you now, daughter. It is in your hands, don’t let House Morain fall, don’t let our legacy die. With you it will burn until time fades away. I have foreseen it, precious. You will be our salvation. You daughter of Araina and Mornia are the last hope...” his words faded away with his last breath as his eyes rolled back into his head and he went limp in her arms. She remained still, later they’d say she was found at dawn in the same position, cradling her dead father’s body, no tears in her eyes only the same darkness that remained till the end.
The talk around camp was that she had stayed like that for much longer than was believed, when the time for Naming came, Elizavetar of Rage still held her father tightly to her bosom. When attendants came to take the body away she refused. After much deliberation, they brought the Hail to her and let her exhume her own father’s body. As was the custom, when they tried to take the Life-Force away for safe keeping, Elizavetar refused again and it is repeated here verbatim what she spoke as she spilled her father’s Source onto the battlefield.
“Here I am, here I remain. I will not move, nor will away my fears until I have made you pay Grano for my father’s Doom. Rage! Rage against the dying of the light! I will be Shadow, I will be Storm, I will Raid you Grano till you are gone. I will make you pay Grano for my father’s death.” The vision of her was something not many who witnessed it could ever forget. In her bloody tunic that barely concealed her from the storm, in breeches that were torn away by the wind and in her helmet that had cracked in battle, Elizavetar of Rage stood atop a cliff and raged against Grano like the Avenging Angel never to be denied the Quest.
The others stood silent and even now when they recall the story of Elizavetar’s first Disobedience the fear in their eyes is palpable. No one had ever cursed Grano, the Mother of all Power; no one had ever threatened Grano, the Weaver of Destiny, no one had ever held to account Grano, the ultimate Source of Life. Here stood a mere child with only a few years behind her who had dared blasphemy by turning her back on the Faith. Only the Oral Histories have that account of Elizavetar, it was whispered ofcourse, but she was of House Mornia and so it was never mentioned outright. The word spread from one war camp to another and soon the tales and legends followed her to the Wars.
Rathan of House Mornia had given up the fiefdom to declare loyalty to House Antar and as such had been given the honorary title Lion, the Gate Keeper of House Zanaan. To him fell the responsibility of running the machine of war that was leading House Antar to victory and already his persona had taken on mythic proportions. He had never lost a skirmish or battle and never had he waved the red flag of defeat or retreated from a front. To have the Lion General’s own blood boldly declare such blasphemy was unthinkable. Even though word of it got around, rising to the top most ranks, it never reached the ears of the Royal or Dowager Empress Ariadne would have quickly declared her an Enemy of State and had Elizavetar stand the Trial by Fire.
It wasn’t everyday that a daughter was proclaimed the heir to a fiefdom. This was not practiced even in the Houses Minor, far be it for a Great House like Mornia to name its next House a woman even when the first-born was a man-child. But it was different for House Mornia because it did not rule a planet nor could lay claim to one. House Mornia was one of the last Great Houses to retain its status even when it was only second in Terrain on the planet Real. But most mistakes made in House Mornia’s name were easily forgiven if you’d read the Histories. Yet Elizavetar of Rage stood apart from her ancestors in one such respect, she lead where others had followed and she vowed revenge where others had accepted their fate.
One would wonder what the Dowager Empress had against her soon-to-be daughter-by-marriage, but that secret I’m sure will be taken with her to the Netherworld. Elizavetar of Rage has always been the most discussed by the Great Scholars and holds the esteemed position of being the only one in the Oral Histories to have an entire Ship dedicated to her. In that Ship ofcourse is a series of her own personal histories produced by her. For she was not just a Warrior-General of Antar, but also an apprentice to one of the Great Scholars and thus believed to be quite learned. Her own account of her life and that seen through the eye of a neutral observer are quite remarkably similar.
If nothing else it can be said about Elizavetar of Rage; she knew everything there was to know about everyone. As she took on the mantle of House Mornia and later on that of the Warrior of God, it cannot be denied that she had the single-most greatest affect on the fate of the Universe.
Author's Note:
As the story progresses I will explain ceratin terms such as the Hail, the Naming, the Trial by Fire, and many others. This is quite a developed story that has been on my mind for a really long time so it might take a while. Please have patience with me.
Have a great day!
Thanks

The Secret House Morain
Part Four: The Gift And The Curse
The night Elizavetar of Mornia was born, a star fell from the skies above Real. Many claimed it was an omen, a portent that would dictate the life of the child of House Mornia. Some believed that it was a forewarning of what Elizavetar herself, would become. But the more practical declared that the prophecy the falling star had revealed had already been fulfilled. For that very night where life sparked in one, another’s forfeited to Grano. The night Elizavetar was born, the first time she was held in the arms of her mother was also her last. The night of the Ides of Aurora along with Elizavetar of Mornia’s birth also marks the death of Lady Zeher of Mornia in childbirth.
This was the first in a series of incidents that continued to separate Rathan from his younger sibling. The resentment increased as days turned into weeks, into months, into years. The older attendants remembered Lady Mornia quite well and the sight of Elizavetar left none with a dry eye. She was exactly like her mother, in appearance and in form, in thought and in heart. Only her eyes belonged to her father all else belonged to Lady Zeher herself. Her father ofcourse doted on his daughter because of this, increasing the rift between herself and her brother. Rathan was not one to hate but he was not one to show much affection either, always he had been occupied by thoughts of training and learning the ways of statecraft and war; to him a younger sister, one who was to be trained to be a lady, was of no use.
Because House Mornia commanded such great respect on the five planets, it had a permanent place on the Royal Council as well as a voice in House Antar. The Royal Council consisted of all the Great Houses those with fiefdoms and those without. On the Royal Council House Mornia commanded a position of great power due to its own illustrious history and the fear it sparked in the other Great Houses, even those that ruled the five planets. As such when Elizavetar had been conceived, even before she was born, she had been promised to Zander of Antar. This had been a deal brokered by her own mother to further strengthen the position of House Mornia. In return, House Antar would receive the awesome gift of Aura, the Power of the Light.
Aura was a method of war, a skill of combat that had been perfected by House Mornia. This priceless StrataGem had won them many allies, many battles as well as struck fear in the hearts of their enemies. Before Kh’var had gotten the courage to unite the three planets against Antar, no one had ever dared to think of rebellion for fear of the reprisal they would face at the hand of House Mornia, one of the greatest supporters of House Antar.
Due to the fact that Rathan and Zander underwent training together, a bond stronger than friendship, one of true brotherhood formed between them. And it was this bond that tore its way through every other and forced Rathan to choose loyalty to House Antar over House Mornia. Not blood, nor duty, nor love, nor familial ties could convince Rathan not to turn his back on his father and this was the final blow to Elizavetar of Mornia. She took up her father’s name and took up the mantle of responsibility from which her brother had shirked, and this was the reason why Rathan and Elizavetar grew apart.
Rathan was clearly the greatest warrior history had ever known, he was fearless and fearsome, cautious and reckless, brave and cunning, he was a culmination of genetic codes that had created a being never before seen or heard. Aura came to Rathan like second nature and against him none could survive in any sphere of war. As such, Rathan rightly felt that he was better suited to lead the Great Army of Antar than his father’s House. Though it was quite a wound on Rage’s heart, he sent his son to House Antar with his blessings and prayers.
To Elizavetar now fell the House Mornia, and not long after Rathan at the young age of twelve solar was declared Lion General of Antar, Elizavetar of Mornia of eight solar was renamed Elizavetar of Rage and became Heir House Mornia. It was a most rude shock to the Royal Council as well as the other Houses for it would not have been wrong of Rage House Mornia to give up the fiefdom to Zander of Antar as dowry for Elizavetar; by choosing to name Elizavetar his heir he had snubbed House Antar. But the shock wore off quickly, after all Emperor Zanier had Rathan, who was betrothed to Princess Royal Vilandra of Zanaan as a precautionary method, so that something would always demand his undying loyalty to House Antar.
As such the separation between Rathan and Elizavetar was not just of loyalties and duty but also of distances. Where Rathan spent his time studying the arts of Warcraft on Antar, Elizavetar was being trained by her father to take his place on Real. Their worlds grew further apart until there came a time when nothing but the bond of blood remained between them. It grieved Rage much to lose his son this way and to watch the siblings become strangers to each other but this choice had been made by him long before Rath was ever conceived...

The Secret House Morain
Part Five: Touched By Fire
When Rage of House Mornia had been only a child about to take his place as heir, he had faced a test none except for his own mother knew about. Much later he would reveal his memories of it to his dear wife Zeher, who understanding the predicament that he faced, took the choice out of his hands. Rage of Mornia was born under a shining star most claimed; he was his father’s first-born and the most brilliant strategist to have ever lived.
When he was only twelve seasons old himself, he faced the Trial by Fire, not because he had ever incurred the wrath of Grano, but because his mother wanted him to reach within himself to the depths of misery and suffering and learn from the lessons that this experience would teach. The test of faith was one that left a lasting impression on young Rage who’s experience is recorded here by Rage himself in the secret diaries that he passed on to his heir, Elizavetar.
‘I was very young then, just having been given my own rooms after having lived with Mother for so long. One night while Father was out on his lengthy excursions to his settlements, Mother came like an avenger into my rooms. I had missed her desperately as she was no longer my shield against the nightmares that had begun to plague me even before I knew what dreams were. She was very authoritative, not a single glimmer of kindness in her eyes as she ordered me to get dressed. I was so shocked by this appearance of indifference that I did as she commanded almost automatically. She stood there watching and told me to follow her when I was ready.
We rode the thrusters into the city and as we reached the Gates of House Real, Mother led me away to the drop-field. There we waited silently as a carrier came and took us on our journey to Antar. It was a very surreal experience, this being my first time off-planet so the idea of even asking her questions was not something I thought of. Mother led me through a maze of hallways and corridors after we dropped down at one of the airfields of House Antar. The palatial home of our dear leaders was quite magnificent in both stature and form. Made of high towers that stood as sentinels on all sides to the Great Hall, the palace was a sight of great beauty.
I was ofcourse rendered speechless at the sight of it, as I had been taught the Histories and knew this to be a place of distinction where history had been made over and over again. As I was a great pupil of the past, it took me a moment to realise that my dear mother who I had thought of in no other light than as my caregiver, knew all the secret places of this palace. She led me through the catacombs of what I imagined then to be the underground caverns of House Antar. They were dark and silent and as we reached closer to our destination, the very air seemed to reverberate with whispers, as if thousands of beings walked among us. The last door that we reached was of a strange metallic substance that was coloured silver-blue and as Mother reached her palm out to brush her fingertips over the middle of the etchings on the door, it quickly thrust itself open as if brought to life by her caress.
The shock had been wearing off when I was assailed with the sight of a giant, green, glowing crystal that seemed to be pulsing with life. Mother walked into the chamber that contained this crystal and after seeing that I still hovered by the door she pushed me in and towards the crystal. She turned to me and spoke the first words since she last ordered me to get dressed, “This is the Granolith, the Judge of Change, you will move forward now and let it balance the scales of your Time and Space against those of Eternity. Do not fear my son for that will be your undoing, now face your Maker.” She turned away and the door closed behind her.
I stood there silent, scared and alone not knowing what to do until the silent whispers I had been hearing turned louder and louder becoming a cacophony of sound that caused me to shudder and instinctively search out for help. My hands touched the cool surface of the Granolith, this large crystal that when I got a closer look at, appeared to be one cone balancing its tip on another’s inverted one. The point at which the two cones met was what attracted my eyes, it burnt so brightly yellow until it seemed to be searing through me and the next thing I knew, I’d been sucked into it.
The experience as I now recall should have left me scarred for life but instead it gave me a sense of purpose. This urges me to record it in a more permanent manner that you, my daughter who I have known would inherit my fiefdom instead of Rath, will know why you will live the life that is to come for you. It was not an easy decision I made, you could blame it on my youth or my innocence but you must remember Elizavetar that I knew of your destiny even before your own mother was born.
The Granolith, that great mystery that has captured the imagination of so many priests and scholars, would never do for any other what it did for me. I never told you much about your own mother or mine, for it was not my place; you must discover on your own your mother’s heritage but mine I will present before you.
My mother was the daughter of peasants, well atleast that is what my father believed. She was quite a beauty and there were many vying for her affections when she was introduced in the Royal Court. King Zanier’s father as well as mine own fell in love with her. My mother could never be denied; she was an enchantress that spun her spell on every single member of the Royal Court including the Royal and the Council yet, it was my father alone who captured her heart. There is a reason why House Mornia after being the most loyal supporter of House Zanaan began to drift away from it.
My mother was a woman of remarkable intelligence; King Zanaar himself held her counsel in high esteem. Yet she believed that my father, Randal of House Mornia must break away from House Antar, for she believed that House Mornia held greater value than being just an ally to the Royal. Mother was quite ambitious and undeniably this was one of the qualities that attracted her to Father. Randal of House Mornia was one of the most brilliant General-Warriors ever, he was a man whose charisma and charm as well unquestionable skills had thrust him into a position of great power and prestige in the Council. These became the reasons for the growing tensions between House Mornia and House Antar.
Even in those times of relative peace, there were many who would have backed House Mornia if it attempted a coup. The life of tranquility can become quite boring and the nobles of the ruling class were inclined to play their mind games to keep themselves entertained. There is an important lesson to be here daughter; enemies sometimes wear the mask of indifference, not gaining your notice until its almost too late. Here among the courtiers and sycophants of House Antar it is important to remember that not the Royal but those that keep them in power, the people behind the curtain are the ones you need to worry about. You must learn to observe, find the puppet master and you will have victory. Never alert anyone to your presence, wear your own mask of innocence and indifference and may this life serve you well my beloved heir... '

Part Six: Fatum Fact
When every other young noblewoman was learning the art of diplomacy, Elizavetar was learning the art of statecraft and war, when others were learning subtlety and decorum, Elizavetar was being taught how to utilize every weapon in her growing arsenal in order to win every battle, whether it be of mind, matter or force. Elizavetar’s childhood was as different as possible from that of any other’s. Her father had known that it was Rathan who would lead House Mornia, yet it did not even occur to Rage to not have his daughter follow in the footsteps of her brother. To Rage they were both equal in every way and maybe it was this attitude that led Rathan to turn his back on his heritage. But debates on Rathan’s betrayal and desertion are quite popular and confusing, even the reasons for it are uncertain, yet this is not what concerns us.
Elizavetar of Rage was the last of her father’s line, Rathan never even had a chance to be bonded much less sire heirs before he met his untimely demise. Even that discussion is quite another topic on its own. After all, in his youth Rathan was quite virile and sexually active but he had been careful not to prolong his engagements for fear of becoming bonded. But then there is the whole other whispered history of House Mornia Minor that began with the seduction of Marianna by Rathan. Some believe that it bore fruit and that a renegade line of House Mornia continued from there. But this line of thinking deviates from the trusted Oral traditions.
Elizavetar of Rage was the last hope of House Mornia and to most it seemed that even before Rathan announced his departure from the ties that bound him to the Great House, Elizavetar had been proclaimed heir in all but in name. Most contrast her with Avaria of Real due to the fact that both were in love with the same man, yet there are quite surprisingly, more comparisons of Elizavetar to Vilandra of Zanaan. Avaria and Elizavetar had one other aspect in common, they were both heir to their Houses and while, Real went to House Antar after marriage, House Mornia would have remained in Elizavetar’s fief even if she had been wedded. That was the major difference that divided the two cousins and while Elizavetar was out consolidating her father’s fief, Avaria and Vilandra were getting to know each other better through various meetings and diplomatic functions. It also helped that both Avaria and Vilandra were older than her and while Elizavetar learned the ways of the world, the two princesses were acquiring mannerisms as befitting noblewomen.
Vilandra and Elizavetar had one thing in common that set them at odds, ambition. Where Elizavetar wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps, Vilandra wanted to rule an empire that would never be hers. Instead Vilandra learnt to wrap her brother around her finger because she knew that in that way alone could she have a semblance of control over their realm. Their methods ofcourse were also very different, one was taught to be a lady first and foremost, to use the wiles of charm and secret deceptions to achieve her ends. The other learnt to manoeuvre people and decisions through tactics, strategies and sheer force of will and ingenuity.
It is remarkable to see the almost identical ends that met both these women; one shaped by her parents specifically her mother, to harness power. The other learnt through those bound by loyalty rather than blood to strive for glory and victory. Yet it is not Vilandra nor Avaria that concern us, this is a retelling of Elizavetar’s life journey and what became of the Warrior of God. Be warned fellow scholars that this is a tale of tragedy and grief, a tale of suffering and sorrow, full of the dying embers of passion and the ashes of rage. This is but a pale reflection of the times that passed before and led us here. You might remember one version or another, but this one is The Truth, it cannot be questioned nor denied.
Elizavetar of Rage lived the life of the damned, never to find peace nor serenity, for her life-story to be so meaningful, one must remember that it was promised to her that she would be avenged, that all those who wronged her would be punished. Yet it is up to you now to figure out whether she ever gained retribution or was she forever cursed to walk The Shadows searching for redemption and the hope that never came...

Part Seven: The Cursed One
She stood there watching, they were living the life she couldn’t and yet as much as she envied them, she wouldn’t give up her world for theirs. Her brother had always had it so much easier than her. Even though he was burdened by the expectations, it was she who had to be the one to bear most of that burden as well. Throughout her childhood, it just grew to be harder and harder to not feel a bit resentful. While the best teachers at the War Machine taught Rath, meeting others like him, Elizavetar was left on her own. She had never been allowed to venture far from home, nor had anyone her own age that shared her predicament. Her only friends were her tutors and those loyal to her father through blood or allegiance.
While Rathan and Zander grew closer, becoming brothers in all but in blood, and Ava and Vilandra were united due to their similar backgrounds, Elizavetar had no one but House attendants to keep her company. Even these friends were kept at a distance for she was of a Great House and a future different from those of the lesser nobles faced her. In everything that she did and was, Elizavetar was always alone and when her brother gave up the mantle of the Heir, Elizavetar felt truly lost. Now it was up to her to achieve her father’s dreams, and even though those became her own, a little part of Elizavetar always pondered on all that she would never have. Neither Marianna nor Kalian could truly be there for her because that was not their place and it had been the hope of a union with Zander that had sustained her. Even though Elizavetar was a warrior, a little part of her was still a young girl with dreams that would never come true.
Elizavetar of Rage had never lived an easy life; since she was a babe she was taught in the ways of war and had never had the childhood that Rathan had been privileged with. Rathan had had a mother and a father that doted on him and had treated him as an Heir Apparent but never had let him forget that he was still a child growing up but Elizavetar was a different case altogether. After her birth, her father had completely thrown himself into turning her into his very own prodigy and there was never a daughter. Elizavetar had never had a mother and as much as she loved her father, he could not replace those bonds. Her secrets were her own, her dreams no one lese knew, to even those who knew her the best she was an enigma.
Elizavetar grew up believing that all her childhood dreams would come true when she was married to Zander and living happily after but with Rath’s betrayal everything had changed. So began the grooming of an Heir and as her training became more rigorous, rumours were spreading in the Council. Her father had known that as soon as Zanier had Rathan under his wing, that he no longer need the alliance with House Mornia and so began to set out feelers among other Great Houses. While Elizavetar believed in dreams of finding true love, her father planned for her future, knowing that now she would never be Zander’s queen. And again as always, the Fates cursed Elizavetar who never found love so true as that of her parents nor a future as bright as the one promised.

A/N: Sorry about the delay, thank you for your patience, exams are killing me!!
Have A Great Day

Part Eight: Betrayal of Love
The story of how Rathan defected to House Antar is narrated in the Oral Histories. It is writ upon the vials that Rathan had quite never been House Mornia, so for him to have turned from his responsibilities should be easily overlooked in favour of his other accomplishments. It is true that Rathan of Mornia was quite a brilliant ruler even before he reached maturity, after all House Mornia was nothing if not pureblood and the breeding ground of generations of the most intelligent warriors to ever walk upon the sands of time.
Emperor Zanier of Antar regarded him as his own son as Zander of Antar and Rathan grew up together having been sent to the War Machine to learn the ways of statecraft and having formed a lasting friendship. There is much written on Zander, the last of House Zanaan to ever rule upon Antar, though the Oral Histories claim that he was a man of great strength and courage, the Traditions written by those same scholars relays otherwise. The Traditions is the selection of those reels that did not pass the censors and were thus never produced in mass publication. The Traditions are stored with one scholar every generation who passes them down to another when Grano has called him. They are sacred and hidden, none except for the Scholars themselves know about it. If this interpretation of history were ever discovered, many would be executed for treason, for only in those vials was it recorded the correct and brutal history of one House Zanaan.
Zander of Antar it is written in the Traditions, was a man without a cause, a soul without a fighting spirit, a body without a will. He lacked everything that Rathan had, where Rathan was strong in his convictions and intelligent and resourceful, Zander was mired in the filth of political schemes and Court intrigues. Rathan had never been anything but a warrior and a soldier, while Zander had never thought beyond his next conquest. As much as Zanier loved his heir, he knew that if it were not for Rathan, Zander would never have passed the Test of Faith. It was their friendship that had instilled a sense of accomplishment and pride in Zander, made him a better man, and it was this same bond that turned Rathan away from House Mornia.
When Rathan was twelve solar, a decision had to be made, Zanier was about to name him Lion General, a title last bestowed some decades ago to the most loyal servant of House Antar. It was the highest respect ever paid to those not of House Antar but loyal to it nonetheless. Rathan was the perfect candidate, firstly because he was noble-born, secondly because he was so loyal to Zander, thirdly because this would bring the power of Aura completely under Antar’s control, and lastly because in this way, Zander could be bonded with House Real and thus gain an important ally. Plans within plans were being created and put into action. One would think that a brilliant man like Zanier, who could convince someone like Heir House Mornia to defect could also win the War of Ascension completely, but such thinking would require an in-depth look into the Royal Court. The real power it has long been rumoured, lay with the now Dowager Empress Ariadne, who it is believed was actually behind all the decision-making. Even her own husband’s death has been rumoured to be plot of hers, executed to such perfection that even in hindsight her own hand cannot be revealed in it.
So as Rathan grew closer and closer to Zander and proved to be exactly what House Antar needed to get out of the promise to House Mornia as well as gain greater power, he was recruited. House Antar seduced him quite subtly but it would have pained House Antar to know that someone was watching it all happen from the shadows. As Rathan grew older, he came to regard the Royal family as his own, Zander was his brother-in-arms, Vilandra all that he wanted in a sister, Zanier, a father who actually understood what he said, and Ariadne, a mother who was quite alive. But at maturity, Rathan experienced a change in his affections, even as he loved House Mornia, his feelings for it changed. He never saw Elizavetar, did not even know what she looked like while Vilandra intoxicated him with her beauty and attention. Elizavetar he had heard was busy practicing war manoeuvres while Vilandra was keeping him company being his friend and his confidante. His father had ignored him for the better part of his life, sending him to the War Machine and always being too busy to spend much time with him, and as he learnt the history of House Antar, he began to emulate the ways of Emperor Zanier, who lavished him with so much attention.
When the choice was put before him, one where he could lead the Great Army of Antar as well as have the hand of the beautiful Vilandra of Antar in marriage, or be the ruler of a once powerful Great House that held nothing but a few fiefdoms now, Rathan chose the former. While Zanier smiled with glee at these events, Rage of Mornia offered only half-hearted protestations and gave up Rathan entirely. Here in the Traditions, Rathan is regarded as a misled man, who was a pawn in the great game Fate was playing, for it was Rathan who would never be what he could have been. Rathan of Mornia could have become the Warrior of God, but he failed the most important test and the responsibility was left to Elizavetar, an innocent victim of Destiny who had to bear the burden of her father’s dreams, her House’s heritage, the prophecies unveiled by the Granolith as well as myths surrounding her Arainan ancestry. And so the life of Elizavetar was writ upon stone even before she had lived it, and began to haunt her even before she knew how to dream...

Part Nine: Secret Desires
Zander of Zanaan Heir House Antar fist saw Avaria of Real, House Raeler at the Gem Ball held in the honour of Vilandra’s Age of Truth. To him she was a vision of beauty he had never seen before; all thoughts of duty and discipline flew from his mind when he first laid eyes on her. He could not approach Rathan as he was still a scion of House Mornia and might not think too kindly of the infidelity that Zander was about to commit, especially since his own House and more specifically, his own sister would be harmed by Zander’s apparent lack of self-control. So Zander turned to Larek of Raere then Heir House Roan, to set up a rendezvous point for the two noble-born. Larek was not happy at this arrangement as it was quite well known that Zander was promised to another, but Larek thought that he might work this out to his own advantage and relented after much hesitation.
It was at Dimaris Rock that Avaria met Zander and it was there where they first bonded. Even then she did not know that it was Zander of Antar, she was so taken by his charm, his appearance and his words that to her he was a noble-born with great charisma. She fell in love with him during their passionate encounter while his own feelings for her grew stronger, but they cut all ties with each other soon enough. She knew that he had other duties for he had told her so; it was not until the Crown Ball that she knew who he was. Until then he was just a dream, someone she would never see again. When he was with her Zander lost all sense of time and place, she made him feel like no one had before. He knew that even though the emotion would remain with him forever, he had to give her up for the sake of duty and so he promised himself never to think of her again. He too found out her heritage at the Crown Ball himself, where their love blossomed and Emperor Zanier noted with interest the connection between the two. This was before Rathan ever pledged complete allegiance to House Antar and as such the seeds of a plan formed in the mind of the Empress Ariadne who watched discreetly as her son fell in with her plans.
Elizavetar of Rage was left without a clue as to what was happening on Antar. While other noblewomen attended Balls and took part in the Court, she was being trained on the far shores of Real. The climes were harsh; it was so cold and so dark, the dark side of Real being perpetually shadowed; yet here was Elizavetar acquiring the powers of Aura. While the women of nobility lived in luxury, Elizavetar learnt to live in the barracks with fifty thousand of her father’s most loyal soldiers with nothing in the way of comfort and food rationed at every turn. Yet she never missed a gathering of the Court, not a one.
Marianna of Mornia House Minor attended all of the functions as Elizavetar’s decoy only Rathan truly knew who she was for none other than her immediate family had ever seen Elizavetar in person. Marianna was always escorted by Rathan as was the custom of the time and that is what many scholars believe led to a building affection between them. Yet when the time for choices came Rathan chose House Antar and ever after Rage declined to attend the Balls and as such Marianna as Elizavetar was never seen at Court again atleast not until the Disobedience.
If we were to discuss Zander’s exploits in the bedroom there are many and with few ever repeated. Even when Zander believed himself in love with Avaria it did not deter him from pursuing other ways of acquiring pleasure and as such, it was one such encounter with an uncommon stranger that tore the very fabric of the Empire ruled with an iron fist by House Zanaan House Antar.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispered into her ear leaning in close and capturing her waist in his arms. They were out on the balcony away from the light illuminating the hanging garden and the music adding to the scene subtly. It was warm in his embrace yet she still shivered, feeling an unrecognized emotion tingle up her spine.
“You’re not too bad to look at, yourself,” she replied trying to keep her emotions from showing, managing somehow to keep her voice light and playful. He looked deep into her eyes and asked in an arrogant voice, “Do you know who I am?” He expected her to cower or atleast tremble and give in but she did nothing of the sort, she turned her lips up into a seductive smile and replied with mirth shining in her eyes, “No, but I’m sure you’ll enlighten me.”
He had thought she’d be an easy conquest, he just wanted someone to scratch the itch building within, and Avaria was not being cooperative. He needed some form of release and when he’d seen her across the room he had wanted her to be the lucky one. She’d been wearing a deep red gown, with absolutely no extra ornaments as befitted her station, after all she was of Mornia House Minor, she’d come in with Elizavetar, who it seemed was not at all pleased to be here. Not that he was happy at his betrothed’s arrival, tonight would be the night that they announced his impending marriage to Avaria of Real House Raeler and break the promise. He knew Elizavetar would not be pleased, and maybe if circumstances had been different he’d not have minded taking her to bed, but he’d heard many appalling details about Elizavetar’s life. What sane noble-born shared barracks with her army and was taught to fight before being taught the finer arts of hosting? He’d heard from his sister as well as Avaria who did not offer many opinions about Elizavetar.
After all Elizavetar and Avaria were kin Avaria’s grandmother having been a scion of House Mornia. Her father, Aran of Real House Raeler had wanted all ties to House Mornia severed, he hated the very existence of the Great House and the fact that his blood was tainted by what he believed was ‘lesser blood’. Unbeknownst to many others and Aran himself, Avaria had nothing but love in her heart for her blood. Elizavetar of Rage represented to her all that she had ever wanted, and for stealing her future, Avaria felt guilty but her heart had already been captured and her father’s mind had already been made up. So tonight Avaria and Zander would be betrothed to each other while Elizavetar’s already weak constitution would be shattered. Avaria knew what was happening but she could do nothing to stop it, with Rage of Mornia dead, there was no one who could call upon the rites of bond-ship to stop what was going to happen. Elizavetar had just gained her place as head of the Royal Council as her father’s Heir and because her position was quite weak due to her age, sex and the fact that she still grieved for her father, she could not challenge the Emperor.
Avaria felt a kinship to her young cousin and even though she knew that she shouldn’t she wished she could change the future. It would have greatly surprised her to know that the woman who she felt such feelings for was not Elizavetar but Marianna, who had grown up in the household of House Mornia having been found when she was merely a babe found floating on a piece of wreckage on the Azure Sea. Avaria knew that she felt for Elizavetar what she had felt for her own sister Mara who was lost to her due to a cruel twist of fate in which her ship sank into the middle of the Azure Sea.

Part Ten: The Price Of Fame
“You should be careful of how you speak to me,” Zander said to the girl who he remembered was called Marianna. Keeping her smile in place she mocked him in reply, “Ofcourse, my liege. How could I ever forget that?”
“Then you do know who I am?” He threw back at her trying unsuccessfully to gain the upper hand in the conversation. “Who else would strut around so arrogantly, chasing after those who want nothing to do with them. I am sure Your Royal I do not want to be here with you especially at a celebration of your bonding with Elizavetar.”
She pushed herself away from him and his arms that held on to her so tightly. “You’re so strange, so unlike any of the others,” he replied, a bit perturbed at the bitter tone of her voice. “Well I apologize, that was the way I was taught to treat men who wanted nothing more than for me to spread my legs for them,” she responded while smoothing down her dress and turning away from him. But Zander was not so easily denied, he grabbed her arm before she could leave and embraced her. “I will not be denied, Marianna. While I am Heir, you will do my biding. Remember that well,” he whispered fiercely into her ear. As she opened her mouth to protest, his lips crushed down upon hers, he forced her to open her mouth and let him claim her.
He plundered her mouth, mimicking the motions of love as he brutally laid claim to her. The kiss was rough and long and hard, nothing like either had ever experienced before. The lust unleashed, consumed them completely so much so that Marianna found herself with her back to the wall and Zander’s hands roaming all over her body. Her skirt rose high on her thighs as his hands went down to her feet and tugged them up around his waist. Through his breeches she could feel his desire growing, and even as she tried to break free from the hold he had on her, Zander‘s hands spread warmth down to her core as he massaged her breasts through her dress. Soon Zander’s mouth started placing hot kisses on her neck making his way down to one of her bare shoulders and then slowly leading in the valley between her breasts. She shivered as the move caused her core to melt and wetness to pool between her spread thighs. As one hand moved up to uncover her breasts, the other went to the fastenings of his breaches. Marianna’s hands were quite occupied, one holding on to Zander’s head by his hair and the other bracing itself against the wall as Zander after releasing his manhood, tore away at her undergarments. The skirt pooled at her stomach as her hand left the cool comfort of the wall and helped Zander guide himself into her core.
There was no foreplay involved as Zander tore into her and shoved her against the wall in one fluid motion. Her head hit the wall and his mouth latched onto one breast while the other hand came up from her stomach and began teasing the other. Their coupling was hard and fast and as they came he silenced her scream with his mouth on hers and joined her on the brink of ecstasy. They stayed in the same position waiting for the tremors to end and as his now spent member left her body, he let her legs fall from his waist. He rested his head against hers and waited for their breaths to even out. He opened his eyes to find her smoothing down her rumpled dress and as he moved to give her space, she paused only a heartbeat before turning away and fleeing into the ballroom. It took him a moment to regain his senses and then he went after her.
He searched the whole place for her, time was running out, his father would announce his engagement any moment now and he wanted to talk to Marianna before that happened. He had just had the most mind-blowing experience of his life and before any word got to her of his impending marriage to Avaria, he wanted to proposition her. He finally found her in one of the anterooms, leaning against the washbasin, wiping away at her eyes with water. “I wanted to talk to you, but you left before I had the chance,” he said angrily when he turned her around to face him. “What happened out on the balcony will never be spoken of again,” she replied harshly, “Don’t talk to me, don’t look at me and sure as Grano, don’t touch me. You are bound to another, I will have no part in this.”
“That is not your decision to make,” he replied. She slapped him across the face and replied, “Don’t ever speak to me like that again, where it concerns me, I have every right to be part of that decision.” His shock was palpable, outside of training he had never been hit and here a mere slip of a girl had dared to raise her hand against the Heir.
“You will apologize to me for your reckless behaviour,” he ordered through clenched teeth and tightened his hold on her when she shook her head negatively. She pushed against him violently in response and gaining her freedom she spoke condescendingly, “Remember Your Royal that you are bound to my mistress, remember Your Royal that I am of House Minor and not allowed to retain ties with you, and remember Your Royal that what happened tonight will only be a dirty memory and nothing else.” She walked quickly to the door and before she crossed its threshold she said, “And oh yes, please give my best wishes to your new Consort. Now I have to go console Elizavetar, she’ll soon find out how treacherous and black your heart is. And oh, Zander you forgot to do up your breeches, it might help to take a refresher course in manners; yours are certainly lacking a certain potency, if you know what I mean. Goodbye sweet Prince, you are still but a boy.”
Zander was left gaping at the door and when he made it back to the Throne Room, Vilandra came up to him speaking in a voice dripping with disdain, “Whom have you been screwing now? Father is asking for you, he will not be pleased if you are found in the Harem. Come along, the speech is about to start.” As they made their ways to the Throne and took either side of it, Zander looked towards the gathered courtiers to see Marianna come up and stand between Rath and Elizavetar. He turned to his side as he saw Avaria come up beside him and he was momentarily struck speechless by her beauty. Avaria’s beauty was rivalled in this Universe only by that of Vilandra’s and even Marianna’s youthful countenance could not compare to Avaria’s womanly charms. This thought brought great comfort to Zander and he watched Avaria even as his father began his speech and proceeded to forfeit Zanier’s agreement with Rage.
He turned back to watch Elizavetar’s face, which quite shockingly remained carefully blank, he could see the smirk playing across Marianna’s face but it surprised him to see Rath squeeze Marianna’s hand and whisper something into her ear. He hadn’t realized there was something going on between them, maybe that was the reason why she had been so unyielding towards Zander. Well no matter, he would talk to Rath and get him to give up Marianna to Zander; he knew Rath was completely loyal to him. Even now Rath was upset for his sister alone but did not seem to care about the grave insult that Zanier’s speech had been to House Mornia’s honour.
But Zanier was not a man to turn allies into enemies and as his speech continued, the murmurs around the room were silenced. Zanier was proposing to give Elizavetar her father’s position as a Warrior-General of Antar’s army in exchange for the broken promise. This was not advertised but it might as well have been seeing as how this was an obvious attempt by House Antar to placate one of its staunchest supporters.
“Tonight we are gathered here to celebrate the joining of the two Great Houses Antar and Real as well as the awarding to the position of Warrior-General o Elizavetar of Rage. Zander Heir House Antar House Zanaan and Avaria House Real House Raeler will now come forward as the Bonding ceremony is completed and the date for their marriage is set,” Zanier continued. When the Bonding ceremony was over, a shout of celebration went up throughout the halls and even as most continued to sing and dance, some turned to watch Elizavetar bend toward Marianna and whisper something in her ear. Marianna in return squeezed Elizavetar’s even as she held on to Rath’s, who had a sympathetic smile on his face.
When the celebration had died down, the courtiers gathered around as Zanier continued, “Now will Elizavetar Heir House Mornia, Head Royal Council come forward to receive the honour of being title Warrior-General.” Many turned to watch Elizavetar who seemed to be looking at Marianna and Rath with pleading eyes. Marianna swiftly moved away from Rath and Elizavetar’s side and made her way to the Throne as everyone looked between her and Elizavetar with confused expressions on their faces. Only Rath seem undisturbed, Elizavetar seemed relieved and one being, who sat on the left hand of the Throne seemed quite intrigued as Marianna stood before the Throne, her haughty gaze sweeping across the Royal Family gathered around it.
Zanier was quickly becoming irritated and demanded, “Why isn’t Elizavetar before us?” “She is before you, My Emperor,” replied Marianna serenely. “What do you mean?” “I am Elizavetar, I am Elizavetar of Rage House Mornia not Heir House Mornia. My father died fighting your war and you lived to break his promise. This is no great honour you bestow upon me, it is but a bribe to silence my voice. You think that you can break your Bond so easily, My Liege? Think again. I am House Mornia, I rule in its name, the blood of warriors flows through my veins and this title is not payment enough for what you have taken from me.” Her proclamation echoed around the silenced halls until it was drowned out by Zanier’s angry command, “How dare you speak to us like this.” “What do you mean; how dare I? You broke a Bond, a promise made between two Great Houses and you expect me to timidly accept it. As long as the blood of Mornia runs through my veins, I never will bow to your will.” “I would have you executed.” “Will you now, really?” “You are not Elizavetar, you are her handmaiden. How dare you speak to your Emperor like this?” “I am Elizavetar, and the Rites of Blood prove that, I speak to you as an equal for it is I who head the Royal Council. You thought that fear would lead me to silence my opposition to you? House Mornia bows to no one. We were allies once and now with one promise you forfeit another.”
“Do not presume to threaten me child.” “Do not call me a child, I have seen more of life than all of you combined. You think just because you sit on the Throne, you are immune to folly? I think not. The Bonding ceremony is done, but if you want me to go quietly, no meaningless title will do any good. Give me the control of the Battleships instead of the Ground Forces and then we will talk.” “Is that all it will take to win back your loyalty, House Mornia?” “So you acknowledge it now, I am House Mornia and if you give me command of your Space Fleet our alliance will be greatly strengthened.” “I give you command of Space not because you demand it Elizavetar but because that was what I awarded to you.”
“Thank you, Emperor,” Elizavetar finally bowed and a sigh of relief went through the halls. There had been a palpable threat of looming violence that had been avoided and each greeted it with a breath relief. But before the tension could completely disappear, Elizavetar responded, “My name is Elizavetar of Rage, I am my father’s daughter and you would do well to remember that.” She smirked at the Royals before turning around and making her way to the exit as the courtiers and the Royal Family watched her leave. Marianna, her decoy hurried behind her, as Rath stood stock-still never having thought that his young sibling would ever behave as shamefully as she had done today. To him it was a shock that someone had treated Zanier of Antar, his Emperor, as an equal rather than as an idol.
Zander for his part was quite shocked to learn that Elizavetar was not what he had expected her to be while Vilandra realized that behind all the rumours hid some real truths. Avaria had always thought of Elizavetar as her sister but now realized that she did not even know who she was, and Ariadne, who never betrayed her true expressions on her face, was delighted to discover a worthy opponent in Elizavetar. This game of power had just begun to get even more interesting...
