"Beautiful, you're beautiful, as beautiful as the sun
Wonderful, you're wonderful, as wonderful as they come
And I can't help but feel I'm touched
To the feelings I can't even match
With my face pressed up to the glass, wanting you

Beautiful, you're beautiful, as beautiful as the sky
Wonderful, it's wonderful, to know that you're just like I
And I'm sure you know me well, as I'm sure you don't
But you just can't tell Who'll you love and who you won't

And I love you, as you love me
So let the clouds roll by your face
We'll let the world spin on to another place
We'll climb the tallest tree above it all
To look down on you and me and them

And I'm sure you know me well, as I'm sure you don't
But you just can't tell, who you'll love and who you won't

Don't let your life wrap up around you
Don't forget to call, whenever
I'll be here just
Waiting For You

I'll be under your stars forever
Neither here nor there just right beside you
I'll be under the stairs forever
Neither here nor there just right beside you"

Chapter One

"So are you going to Vickie Delaney party tonight?" Maria buzzed excitedly over the phone.

"No Maria I mean after all tomorrow is Graduation and I need to get to bed early." Liz said trying convincing her friend.

"Sorry Miss Parker but you are going It's tradition that all of the seniors go to an all out Rocking Grad party the night before Graduation. Plus it wouldn't be the same if you were not there. I mean who else would I make fun of everyone with." Maria said laughing.

"Maria!" Liz said annoyed.

"Oh come on! Besides Alex is band the Whits is playing and I am singing so you have to come." Maria begged hoping her friend would change her mind.

"Well ok." Liz said finally giving in.

"Great Alex and I will pick you up at 8 see you then." Maria cried happily as she hung up.

Liz hung up the phone and lay down on her bed groaning. "Great now I have to go. And I haven't even practiced my Valedictorian speech for tomorrow. It will come out fine right?"

She thought as she quickly got up opening up her closet to the array of cloths trying to decide what to wear. "Well maybe on night out won't be so bad,” she said smiling as she hurried to get ready.
-------------------------------
The huge white house came into view and Alex, Maria, and Liz made their way towards the front door. "Yeah I have an order for a Delaney for a band?" Alex said smiling as the door opened. "Alex Whitman! Maria Deluca, you made it." Vickie said dressed in a dark purple sundress as she gave them a huge hug.

"Chris and the guys are in the back you can set up there." Vickie said as she led them into the house. "Thanks Vickie now the party can start Alex Whitman in the house!" Alex yelled as everyone laughed.

"Oh my god Liz Parker Miss Valedictorian herself. It's great to see you!" Vickie beamed as she hugged Liz who was wearing a red tank top and olive green Capri pants. "Nice to see you to." Liz said smiling.

The party was in full swing as the Whits blasted the rock melodies on their electric guitars as the crowds cheered and danced. Liz screamed and cheered taking pictures of her friends Alex, Chris, Nicky, and Markos as they played their heart out dressed in t-shirts and jeans.

Maria however was dressed in a black halter-top and jeans with elaborate earrings and jewelry. She looked like a rock star Liz thought as she watched her up their enjoying herself with the Whits.
-------------------------
Through the noise a doorbell rang as Vickie went to answer it. "Well if it isn't West Roswell High's most popular couple Max Evans and Tess Harding." She said as she hugged them with delight.

"Wouldn't of missed this for the world." Max said smiling as he and Tess entered the house. "And where is the rest of your crew Max?" Vickie said looking at them.

"Aw oh my god Kyle Valenti you are so dead!" Vickie screamed as Kyle picked her up with the rest of the football team and basketball team laughing. "Right behind you." Max said as the whole group laughed.

"Maxwell I can't believe you invited me to this lame party!" Michael mumbled as he walked in joining the joyous group. "Oh nice to see you too Michael Gurin." Vickie said laughing.

"Yeah whatever Max I am going down stairs to the basement if you want to come." Michael said making his way towards the stairs. "Sure lets go guys now the party can start!" Max yelled as the rest of the crew followed.
------------------------------
The Whits finished the last cord as the crowd cheered as Maria and the Whits took a bow. "That was amazing you were great!!!" Liz said hugging her friends. "Thanks we rocked the place!!" Alex said beaming.

"Let go inside I am dying to see everyone" Maria said with a smirk as she dragged Liz inside as Alex followed. The house was an array of blue and gold streamers along with a huge sign in blue and gold letters that said congrats to the class of 2002 of West Roswell High! Go Comets!!!

Music was blasting everywhere as laughter and chatter filled the air as people danced and filled their glasses with punch and got drunk off of beer and other alcoholic beverages.

"Oh my god I will check you later Maria and Liz, Isabel Evans just walk in!" Alex said in shock as he watched a blond bomb shell beauty dressed in black paints and a light blue tank top walk into the room. "Alex you don't have a chance!" Maria said hopelessly as she watched her friend run up to greet her.

"Maria you would be surprised Alex is quit well respected among the popular crowd. He is a cool cute geek as they call him. I am sure he will be ok" Liz said smiling as she saw Alex and Isabel laughing over something.

"Sure whatever Liz" Maria said rolling her eyes. "Come on lets dance" Maria said as her and Liz made their way to the middle of the living room floor and danced to the techo music blasting through the speakers. They danced and laughed the night away until Alex came over to them with Isabel holding his hand.

"Oh yeah Alex" Liz said in shock seeing the sight in front of her. "Hey you know Isabel." Alex said smiling. "Of course she does. Hey Liz how are you? How's that speech coming along?" She said giving her a sweet smile.
"Oh um it's coming. Yeah it should be great." Liz said hesitating. "I am sure you will do fine." Isabel said encourage as Liz smiled back.

"Hey we are going down to the basement if you want to come?" Alex said looking at his two best friends. "Sure let’s go" Maria said as she followed Alex and Isabel down the stairs.

"Maria you did tell me he was going to be here!" Liz said embarrassed as she felt a crimson blush fill her cheeks making them feel hot as she spotted the tall dark handsome man dressed in a black shirt and jeans laughing with his friends flashing is million dollar smile.

"Who Max Evan oh come on Liz he is Isabel brother and a member of our senior class you know. Besides you were lab partners for four years so I don't see what the big deal is." Maria said smiling.

"You set me up didn't you!" Liz said staring her friend in the eye. "Can you blame me.”? Maria said as her and Liz both smiled as they entered the basement.

The basement was like entering another world. Kyle and his jock friends were busy playing poker in the back while Octavio Baker and his friends Lyons, Coleman, and Kalinowski did Jell-O shots and danced with the ladies they had picked up. In the dim lit room music blared while people sat their drinking and smoking enjoying the carefree atmosphere.

"Come on Maxwell let go." Michael said looking at the all too fimilar scene of another Friday night party. "Michael we just got here. And besides I am having fun." Max said as he sipped his drink. "Fine oh look who showed up your sister with James Bond himself." Michael said laughing as he saw Isabel and Alex make their way towards him.

"Hi Max you remember Alex." Isabel said smiling as Alex held her close. "Of course. You guys sounded great tonight." Max said as he patted Alex on the back. "Thanks Max. Yeah it was a great way to end senior year. Man I am going to miss that band." Alex said shacking his head.

"Yeah The Whits you guys were like a school legend. I think the year book dedicated a whole page to you." Max said as he took another sip of his drink smiling at her sisters close friend.

"So where is your trophy girlfriend tonight?" Isabel said eyeing her brother. "Oh she is dancing." Max said as they watched Tess dancing on top of a table drunk. "That is defiantly one for the record books" he said laughed as Tess waved her arms all over the place while her body moved to the music.

"Great girlfriend you got their Max. She's a real keeper. Why can't you get a normal girlfriend for once." Isabel said annoyed as Alex and Michael laughed. "What’s wrong with Tess?" Max said looking at his sister. "Forget it. Let get some punch Alex." Isabel said taking hold of Alex hand and Alex waved goodbye.

"I am getting some air." Michael said as he made his way towards the punch bowl. "Maria Deluca well it's nice to finally find one of my kind down here." He said smiling as he poured some punch. "Nice to see you too Michael you saved me from the jocks and the preps once again." She said as they both laughed.

"You sounded great tonight." He said looking into her eyes. "Thanks yeah Alex is quite the band leader when it comes to rehearsals and getting things right." She said smiling as she took hold of his hand and kissed him.

"Oh hey look I have to get back to Liz but if you want to join us your more then welcome. After all you are my boyfriend and I want to spend time with both of you." Maria said smiling.

"Oh hey sorry I was late but you know what it is like car pooling with Max and Tess." Michael said rolling his eyes. "It's ok I am glad you are here now." Maria said as they joined Liz on the couch.

"Oh hey Michael. It's nice to see you." Liz said giving him a hug. "You too. I can't believe we are here! I hate these things." Michael sighed. "Tell me about it. I wasn't going to come until Maria dragged me out." Liz said smiling. "You will thank me later." Maria said.

"Dame it!" A scream was heard as the football team threw their cards down in disgust. "Pay up boys!" Kyle said beaming with the look of victory written across his face as the team reluctantly reached into their wallets and placed wads of cash on the table as Kyle gattered up his winnings.

"Hey take a look at Tess" one of Kyle’s buddies Malamoot whispered as they busted out laughing seeing her dancing on the table top drunk and then fell off giggling as she stumbled to her feet.

"Hey Max" Tess said as she fell on top of him as she started to kiss him. "Oh hey Tess" Max said brushing her off. "Had a little too much there." Max said looking at her concerned into her blood shot eyes.

"Just a little." She slurred as she pressed her face into his chest. "Maybe you should lie down." Max sighed as he dragged her to a near by couch and placed her down. "My Hero" She whispered before passing out.

"Hey Evans we are playing spin the bottle you in?" Kyle said clapping his hands together in excitement. "Kyle um I don't know." Max said hesitating. "Oh come on it's our last night of high school before we graduate your entitled to a little fun. Besides sleeping beauty won't remember a thing tomorrow." Kyle said waiting for his friends answer.

Max hesitated in his heart he would of felt bad for going against Tess however something told him to go for it. "Sure I am in." he said as he stared at Tess sleeping.

"Maria Liz we are playing spin the bottle maybe I will finally kiss Isabel Evans come on lets go." Alex said as he garbed Maria. "Liz you coming?" Alex said looking at her. "Sure why not" she sighed.

The circle was set as Vickie Delanie, Pam Troy, Kyle, Octovian Banker, Isabel, Alex, Maria, Michael, Liz, Richie Roher, Wendy Lavely, Peter Gulla , Amanda Lourdes, Greg Coleman, Marlene Garcia, Max and the rest of the party goers sat down on the brown carpet flooring of the dimly light room. Kyle took and empty wine bottle and started to explain the rules.

"Ok so it's pretty easy if the bottle faces who ever it points to when it spins you have to kiss that person. However if it lands on someone of the same sex you get another turn. Are we clear?" Kyle said holding the bottle.

"Yes" everyone nodded. "Ok then lets play." he said placing the bottle down and spun it. It landed on Vickie. They moved over and kissed each other and then Vickie spun the bottle. It landed on Chris.

Liz was in a trance watching the bottle move in its green glass blur as turn upon turn was made. "Liz!" "What?" Liz said breaking her trance. "It's your turn." Alex yelled as he pasted her the bottle. "Oh sorry." She said taking it from him as she spun it.

It danced its green glass dance and then stopped. Liz looked up at the two piercing amber eyes looking at her in the dark as Max's face came into focus as she felt her heart pounding hard.

They stared at each other as their eyes looked into one another’s soul. And then it happened Liz wasn't sure if she was the first one to make the move or if it was Max but all of the sudden she felt his lips against hers pulling her into his world shutting the rest of existence out as they held on tight kissing each other hard and igniting a spark of passion inside of them.

They finally broke breathing hard as they looked into each other’s eyes trying to figure out what just happened and then some one yelled "Cops"

"The Cops are coming Liz we have to go." Maria said as she pulled her best friend away as they ran up the stairs.

"Maxwell we have to go." Michael said as he placed his hand on Max's shoulder shacking him. Max and Michael then helped Tess to her feet dragging her as they hurried up the stairs.

The whole house was in massive chaos as Jim Valentie and his crew stormed the house. "Great way to end the party Kyle with your dad showing up." Malamoot yelled. "Shut up and run." Kyle said as they garbed the keys and fled to his car.

"Liz this way Maria said as she pulled Liz towards the backyard. In the massive confusion Liz could see nothing but a blur until she saw those amber eyes staring at her. They looked at each other one last time before they both went their separate ways running into the night.

Chapter Two

A sea of crimson squares and gold tassels made their way into the auditorium as the senior class made their way to their seats.
The sage was an array of blue and gold balloon arches as a wooden podium sat center stage.

A table holding blue colored cases enclosed in them the their diplomas a reward of the four years of hard work. Next to the diplomas sat golden Plax’s of special awards and most importantly the yearbooks full of the great memories of this precious time in their lives.

The principal greeted the proud parents, families, and guests before starting the graduation ceremony.

Liz was a nervous wreck as her heart pounded when her name was called to give he Valedictorian speech. She looked down at her notes on the podium at the speech she had written many weeks ago. However all she could think about was last night's party.

She took a deep breath and looked out on to the sea of crimson robes of the seniors in front of her. She then folded her original speech and then took a deep breath, this speech would be one from the heart.

"Welcome parents, teachers, and graduates of the class of 2002 from West Roswell High. Today is graduation day a day we never thought would come when we entered these doors four years ago. How different things were back then we were all scared and lonely wondering if we would be able to survive.

Over time we managed and made friends. Some of us were considered popular, others jocks, some geeks, some freaks. But it didn't matter what crowd you were in because in truth we have all touched someone’s lives without even knowing it.

Even if we never talked to this person they have touched our lives whether it was in a smile a laugh or just being who they were our memories of high school wouldn't be the same with out them." Liz said as her eyes locked with Max's for a brief second.

"Today we graduate and go our separate ways but the truth is it doesn’t matter if you were the most popular or the biggest geek what matters is that we did it together as a class and made some wonderful memories that will live in our hearts forever. Don't ever change because if it wasn't for you life wouldn't have been as beautiful. Thank you." Liz said smiling as the whole class applauded.

Then one by one each member of the class was called to receive their diplomas, special awards, and yearbooks. The principal then told the class to turn their tassels. "May I present to you West Roswell High class of 2002!" The principle said as the seniors cheered and threw their hats in the air.

"Liz, Alex we did it!!! Aw I m going to miss you guys promise me you will keep in touch!!!" Maria said all teary eyed as she hugged her two best friends. "Of course we will.' Liz said beaming as she hugged them.

"Party at the my house!" Alex yelled as he ran to his band members The Whits as they cheered and ran through the hallways as Alex grabed hold of Isables hand as she followed them laughing.

"Well Liz I got to go and meet up with Michael. My mom want to take some pictures and go back to the house before we go to the party. Again you did a wonderful job with the speech I cried!" Maria said hugging her. "See you later Maria." Liz waved as her friend left.

The crowds were dwindling as Liz stood watching until she saw a familiar figure come towards her. "Look Max if this is a question about Biology I can't help you." She said smiling as she looked into his eyes.

"No more like Chemistry." He said smiling and then there was silence between the two as the question of the kiss hung in the back of their minds.

"That was an amazing speech. Oh um... I never signed your yearbook." Max said shyly breaking the awkward silence.

"Oh thanks! Can I sign yours?" Liz sighed handing Max her blue yearbook with the words West Roswell High School Class of 2002 written in silver letters with the imprint of a comet on the cover. "Sure here you go." He said as Liz scribbled some thing into his yearbook that read along the line of

Dear Max,
Thanks for the memories and for being you. You will make someone very happy someday. Good luck in the future. Forever dream. Love Liz
She then handed him back his book feeling her cheeks turn red from blushing.

"Hey Max let’s go! We are going to be late for my Grad party!" Tess called from the back as Max finished writing and handed Liz her book. They both took a deep breath. "Well Good luck." Max said smiling "You too." Liz said as they stared into each other's eyes one last time.

"Max come on!" Tess cried as Max ran over to her looking back at Liz one last time before they left.

Liz sat there taking in what just happened. "Well today I graduated and my high school dreams of kissing Max Evans came true. But it meant nothing. It just a kiss that all." She thought to herself. But her heart told her it was more.

Chapter Three

"Hey Parker are you almost finished for the day?" Doug said as Liz finished filling out a chart. "Almost done." She said making the last notations.

Liz Parker now a Harvard Grad was working as a Molecular and Cellular Biologist at Harvard medical. She was very well respected in her filed and was moving up in her line of work. Recently she was moving into an Apartment in the Boston Area and things were finally coming together in her life.

"So need any help moving into the new apartment?" Doug asked as he watched Liz fill out her chart. "No, I am pretty much all set. Thanks." Liz said as she placed her chart down and handed in her research for the day.

"When's the last time you went out?" Doug said as Liz went to get her coat. "I went out last Friday" She said gathering her things.

"No I meant out on a date" Doug said looking into her eyes.

Doug Sellow was one of Liz's colleges who was working with her on the Dr. Laura Holt research project. They had been classmates while at Harvard and spent a lot of time together working on various projects.

"Look Doug I told you now is not a good time" Liz said hoping to drop the subject.

"When is it ever a good time for you Liz" Doug said annoyed.

"Look Doug I think you are a really nice guy. It's just I have so much work I mean between moving in to my new apartment and working with Dr. Holt. Do you know she might even make me head of one of the departments so I really need to get this research done on time." Liz said as he tried to find excuses as to why she couldn't go out.

"You know what your problem is Liz you’re too picky. I am tired of your excuses. I have asked you out time and time again and your answer is always your too busy with work. When will you lighten up and open your eyes. It's your lose Liz. You never find a guy at this rate. No one will ever want you." Doug said, as he looked Liz in the eye.

"Someone will want me someday and that person won't be you! Goodnight Doug." Liz said firmly as she grabbed her things and walked away.
------------------
Liz unlocked her apartment door and sighed as frustration took over. "God why dose he have to be so annoying!!" She thought placing her things down and looked at the empty apartment in front of her as box's lay scattered everywhere.

She sighed seeing the work ahead of her. It had only been a week since she moved in and already she was behind in unpacking because of work.

"Well I might as well start." she thought as she took her coat off and changed into jeans and a T-shirt before starting the process. It was 9:00 when she deiced she had had enough and looked at the progress she had made. So much for putting a dent in things. There were piles of books and cloths scattered everywhere among the boxes.

Most of her furniture hadn't been moved in yet. She tried to move the boxes in one area so that the movers would have room when they arrived. The one pieces of furniture she had was her bed a chest of draws and table in the living room. A TV stand with a TV in it and her kitchen table.

Liz went to her bed and lay down exhausted from the days work. Her bedroom was an array of box's and piles of books. She then went and placed some of her charts on one of the piles of books she had made. However the stack was took heavy and came crashing down in on big disaster.

"Oh" Liz groaned could this day get any worse. Just when she thought everything was coming together in her life things had to go out of control. First with Doug, the pressures of work, and now this. I was more then she could handle.

She started to fix the pile when she noticed a blue book with silver writing laying open face down near her. She picked up the book and looked at the collage of black and white pictures.

Her old yearbook! She smiled it was like seeing an old friend again as she looked at the faces she knew long ago. Her eyes scanned the page until she came across a picture of a boy and a girl. The girl was leaning very close over the guys shoulder pointing to something on the page in front of them.

The caption under the picture read Future scientists Liz Parker and Max Evans try to figure out the different types of chemical reactions elements make in science lab

Liz smiled how different life was back then. It was so pure so innocent. She stared at the picture wondering that ever happened to that gorgeous, shy, sweet, mysterious young man Max Evans. "He is probably married by now and is really successful or something." Liz thought daydreaming of her crush she knew long ago.

She then looked up when she noticed a piece of paper sticking out from one of the pages. She lifted it out of her book. It was an envelope with her name written across it in black letters.

She placed her yearbook down and looked at the strange envelope. Wondering what it could be. She then opened it and began to read the letter.

Dear Liz,
after being your science partner for four years and fellow classmate you probably think I don't know you being we never have said a word to each other, other then the directions for a lab. Though you might not know it truth is I do know you Liz Parker.

I know when you smile. How it could light up a room in one second and case all your fears away. The glow in your eyes when something excites you. How you are very kind and caring and would do anything for your friends. You have a sweet gentle soul yet strong at the same time. I know that you are determined, hard working, focused, and passionate especially when it come to life. You enjoy life to the fullest.

Your laugh makes my heart melt and your sent of Vanilla and strawberries when your hair is close to me drives me crazy and I am at a total lose for words. You are radiant when you are happy and your voice is music to my ears.

Tomorrow we graduate and well what can I say I am going to really miss you and you know why is because I love you. Liz I love you. I fell in love with you over the past four years. Since the day I met you I knew we were meant to be together. You’re my soul mate. I know it! god you’re beautiful you really are. Don't ever change. I don't know what the future holds but I want you to know that you are going to do great things.

Take life as it comes and always believe in your dreams. You taught me how to believe in them and I am grateful. I love you Liz Parker and I will love you forever. So just know this I'll be waiting for you!

Love,
Max

Liz then folded the letter and looked to the back to her yearbook. Max never signed her yearbook. Instead he was signing her name on the envelope before he placed it in the back of her yearbook.

She then flipped to the page of her and Max looking at the man she had loved so many years ago as his letter sank in and then broke down and cried.

Chapter Four

Max Evans slept soundly in his bed as his world of dreams unfolded in front of him. He was in a deep sleep and was reliving a high school memory of his, kissing a certain girl with chestnut brown hair when the phone rang.

"Hello" He mumbled. "Hey Maxwell" A voice beamed over the phone. "Michael it's 2 in the morning!" Max said rubbing his eyes as he sat up in bed. "What ever anyway I need you to do me a favor. Can you go and pick up one of my paintings. I need it for my exhibit in NY being held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art." Michael said excited.

"You woke me up to ask me to pick up a painting for you?" Max said annoyed. "I just remembered I can't get it with getting ready for the show and everything. Plus it's Maria's favorite." Michael said smiling.

"Ok Michael where do you want me to pick it up?" Max said sighing.

"Boston"

"What! Michael you want me to go to Boston! Do you have any idea of how long of a drive that is from New York! Plus I might have to be in court that week. I can't just drop my clients for some painting." Max said in shock.

"Look I am not telling you to go for a month or something. I was thinking more like a weekend. Anyway you need a vacation." Michael said laughing at his friends reaction.

"Ok fine! I'll go when do you need this painting?" Max sighed. "By Monday. The show opens in a week." Michael said. "Michael I can't leave on Friday I have a meeting with a client!" Max said annoyed.

" So cancel. Thanks Maxwell I will be at your Apartment Monday morning to pick it up." Michael said as he hung up.

Max placed the phone back on the receiver and groaned cursing Michael. The last thing he wanted was to take a trip and leave his hectic work schedule.

Max Evans was now a lawyer and a very successful one at that. He was a natural in the courtroom and almost won every case.

Taking the talent he leaned back in High School when he was popular. He knew how to dazzle the crowd but still stayed true to the facts and gave justice where it was well deserved.

He lied back down in bed and looked at the clock 2:30 it read. He yawned and closed his eyes getting some much-needed sleep before he started his trip to Boston in the morning.
---------------------------
"Hey Alex it's Liz look I know it is late but I was wondering if you have talked to the Evan's at all? They still live on 6025 Murray Lane right?" Liz said talking to her friend long distance as she waited for his answer.

"Look Liz I haven't talked to the Evans in years. Isabel's family moved out of Roswell to Santa Fe years ago right after we broke up. Look Liz what is this about? After all it is 2 in the morning." Alex said yawning.

"I can't tell you Alex. Do you still talk to Isabel?" Liz said trying to gather information.

"Whoa there Nancy Drew! Knowing you this is definitely something big or else you won't be playing the 20 question game." Alex said laughing.

"OK Well you remember the Delaney party right. Anyway you remember how I kissed Max Evans." Liz said smiling.

"Yeah I remember Liz your high school crush who you fantasized about all of these years. So?" Alex said trying to see what his friend was getting at.

"Well the other day I was unpacking and I came across my High School year book and in it was a letter. It was a letter from Max to me. I wasn't crazy Alex he was just as in love with me as I was with him. He told me in his letter. Alex I have to find him." Liz sighed.

"Liz look I am really happy for you but that was 8 years ago! He is probably married by now and what are the odds that you will ever find him again. He might be out of the country for all you know." Alex said trying to talk some sense in to his friend. "Look I'll give Isabel a call if it means that much to you." Alex sighed.

"Oh you would Alex wow that would be great. I mean I know you and Isabel haven't talked in a while are you sure?" Liz asked concerned.
"No Liz it's ok. I mean who knows maybe we will get back together. I really miss her.

Anyway just by chance did you call Maria at all about this? After all she was the only one who actually stayed with her High School Sweet Heart go figure Maria of all people." Alex said as Liz and him laughed.

"No I haven't I will give her a call tomorrow. Maybe she will know something I mean Michael and Max were friends in High School." Liz said forming a plan in her head.

"Thanks Alex sorry for the late phone call." Liz said smiling. "No problem I mean anything for the Parker. After all they didn't call me the Whitman for nothing." He said laughing. "Good night Liz and good luck. I hope you find him." Alex said beaming.

"Thanks. Goodnight Alex" Liz said as she hung up her phone and climbed into her bed. The time was now 2:30 as she yawned and close her eyes entering her world of dreams.

Chapter Five

Six hours later Max saw a sign that said Boston Welcomes You. As his black jeep drove into the city ahead.

Normally he would of taken a subway or taxi but he had no choice. It felt good to be behind the wheel again cruising down the open road. However he forgot about traffic and was held up for 2 hours on I95 in CT.

He glanced down at the map in front of him "Almost there" he said as he looked at the address of the dealer Michael had given him.

Mr. Brody Davis 120 Chestnut Hill Drive Apartment D it read as Max tried to picture the man. "He probably has spiky hair and is a freak or something" he thought as drove through the Financial District reminding him of work.

He glanced at the clock.Seven it read. "I hope he is there." he said remembering how difficult it was to cancel his meeting with his client so he ended up going the lunch meeting. It ended around two and then he ran home, got into his car, and started his journey up north.

He couldn't wait to get home! There was no way he was spending the weekend. "Just one night in Boston and then straight back to New York in the morning" he said as he drove through the cobbled stone streets.
----------------------------
"Hi Is Maria there? This is Liz parker." Liz said as she waited for the receptionist to put her through.

"Liz how are you? I haven't talked to you in a while. How’s the New Apartment and the job? Miss Harvard Medical!" she beamed.

"Oh the Apartment is wonderful you so have to visit and see it. My job is going great. I love it. Actually I am at work right now. Look I can' talk for long I am in the middle of a meeting.

I was just wondering if you know where Michael is?" Liz said as her heart pounded waiting for her friends answer.

"Do you think I keep tabs on that boy? He has been working on getting his exhibit together like crazy. I hardly get to see him because he is at work. I will see him on opening night. Why do you ask?" Maria said trying to see what her friend wanted.

"Do you know if he is still friends with Max?" Liz said hoping to find some information.

"Max as in Max Evans? How should I know! Space boy has more friends then I can keep track of! Liz what is this all about?" Maria said now interested.

"Well the other day when I was unpacking I found my old yearbook and in it was a letter. I m shocked I never noticed it before after all it has been 8 years. I guess I was still in aw on Graduation day.

So anyway I open this letter and I was right Max was in love with me. He professed his undying love for me in his letter to me. Maria are you still there?" Liz said as she heard silence on the other line and then a scream.

"What after all these years!!! Liz its fate or something! I don't care what you think! This is amazing! Max Evans that gorgeous sexy man in love with you Liz!!!

I knew it! I always knew he loved you I always had this feeling!! This is incredible!! I feel like I am in a romance novel or movie or something! You have to find him!! Maria babbled in excitement.

"Breath Maria I mean it's not like he proposed to me or anything. After all I haven't seen him since I was 18!" Liz said hoping to calm her friend down.

"Look I will call Michael when he get's home from work and I will let you know where Mr. Tall, dark, handsome, and mysterious is hiding" She beamed.

"Thanks Maria you’re a life savor! Oh would you look at the time. It's almost two. I have to get back to my meeting. But thank you!!! " Liz said smiling.

"Anytime your fairy godmother is on the case. I will call you later tonight. Good bye Liz." Maria said joyfully.

Liz laughed bid her best friend good-bye and hurried back to her meeting.
------------------------------------
Later that night Maria called Liz saying that Michael wasn't home yet and that his cell phone was off. She thanked her friend cursing herself forgetting her hopes up.

"I knew it wouldn’t work out. Why is it always the ones I don't like always hit one me!! And the one I do like I haven't seen in eight years but dream about all the time!! I guess I really was destined to be alone!" she sighed frustrated remembering what happened at work.

Doug was bothering her again about going out on a date and even wanted to help her unpack when all she wanted was to be let alone. She told him that she wasn't interested for the one-hundredth time.

"Why does he have to be so annoying! Doesn’t he get it I don't like him!" She said annoyed and then decided to take a bath to relax and forget about the pressers of work and her life and maybe try to enjoy the weekend.
-------------------
It was 7:30 as Max dodged weekend traffic heading their way out for a night on the town. "Dame it Michael I could kill you!" he yelled as he was almost side swiped. Why is it always me he picks to do his stupid errands! This painting better be good!" He said as he passed Harvard square.

"Liz went to Harvard." He remembered as the vision of his dream girl came into view. "I wonder what she's doing after all these years. Maybe she did become a molecular Biologist" He said smiling remembering how she would tell him her dream in science lab as her eyes glowed.

Then a flash of the Delaney party came into his mind of him kissing her as he hit the steering wheel. "Wake up Max that was 8 years ago! What’s wrong with you pining after a dream all these years!

Liz Parker was the one who got away! Face it she is never coming back! You might as well give up!" He sighed frustrated as he turned on the radio and tried to relax as he turned the corner.
---------------------------------
It was 7:30 when Liz was finished with her bath. She felt like dressing up just incase one of her work friends other then Dough called to go out. She dried her hair and put on her black pants and a low cut pretty dark purple top. "Now time for makeup." She said as she made her way towards he mirror.
--------------------
The jeep came to a halt in front of a tall brick brown stone apartment building. He glanced at the address one last time as he got out of the car. "This must be it" he thought as he ascended the stone stairs.

He entered the lobby and made his way up a flight of stairs as he searched for Apartment D. "He better be here. I hope he is not annoying or a talker!

That's the last thing I need is for him to babble about nothing and to stay in this strangers freak apartment for most of the night when I could be getting a good night sleep in a nice hotel for my trip home tomorrow!" He thought as he made his way down the long hallway reading off door letters.

"Apartment D" he whispered finally reaching it as he knocked on the door.
------------------------------
Liz looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled. She looked beautiful tonight she thought as she started to brush her hair when she heard a knock at her door.

"Oh no! If that’s Doug asking me to go out tonight I swear I am going to kill him!" she groaned as she made her way to the door. "I'm coming" she sighed as she unlocked the door and opened it.

Only it wasn't Doug on the other side.
-------------------------------
Max waited hearing the door being unlocked hoping it wasn't his worst nightmare about to greet him on the other side. On the contrary it was quite the opposite as the door opened.

"Max Evans!"

"Liz Parker!”

Chapter Six

It was like a dream as they stared at each other. "Wow you look..." Max said breathlessly "So do you" Liz sighed as they both smiled.

"I was hear to pick up a painting from a Mr. Broady Davis?" He said still looking at her in shock.

"Well he was the old owner of my apartment maybe it's still here. Please come in." Liz said as Max entered as Liz closed the door.

"Sorry it's not much. I am still in the middle of unpacking. Make your self at home." She said as Max looked at the sparsely decorated apartment.

"Wow I still can't believe it's you!" Max said in aw as Liz smiled at him. He was even more beautiful then she remembered and she could feel the heat in her cheeks start to rise just like they had in high school as she blushed when she looked into his eyes.

"I know wow it's been so long...um let me see if I can find that painting for you?" Liz said as she went into the other room.

Max waited still in shock. 'This must be a dream your dreaming Max wake up!" he said until Liz emerge with a huge square package wrapped in brown paper.

"There was a note this must be it." She said as she handed Max the painting. Their hands brushed past each other and it was then that Max knew he wasn’t dreaming as his blood boiled at her familiar touch.

"Thanks" he whispered as he placed the painting near the door. "So your a painter?" Liz said hoping he would stay. "No that’s Michael craft. Actually I am a lawyer in New York." Max said smiling.

"Wow impressive. I am sure you win almost every case" Liz said, "I try" Max smiled shyly. "How about you? Did you ever become a Molecular Biologist?" he said looking into her eyes.

"You remembered! Yes actually I did" she said smiling as her eyes glowed.

"I remember everything. Wow that’s great Liz you got to live your dream." He said softy. "Oh I am sorry where you going out some where?" Max said as he looked at Liz.

"Oh no I just felt like dressing up just incase a tall dark and handsome man should happen to show up on my door step " Liz said laughing and then blushed realizing what she had just said.

"Really is that so. Well then I wouldn't want to keep you." Max said as he and Liz laughed. "No I really don't have any plans" Liz said smiling. "Then it's ok that I take you out to dinner?" Max said looking at the radiant beauty in front of him.

"Sure. I know a great place we can go." as she got her coat as Max held the door for her "Lead the way" he said as they left the apartment.
------------------------
The restaurant was a pub called "The Black Rose" it was a pub that Liz had gone to in her college days. The dim candle on the table and relaxed atmosphere was just perfect for this occasion.

"So I graduated from Columbia Law and moved into the city. The firm I am with is really great. Nice good honest people, which I like. And I have been living there ever since. Michael I still keep in touch with. He is an artist as a very successful one. I am happy he found his passion. He really loves it.

My sister Isabel is doing great. She is working at a fashion magazine and was dating this guy Jessie for a while when my family moved to Santa Fe a few years ago. They broke up and now she is single again. Last I heard she was starting to talk to Alex Whitman again. I hope they go out again. He was a really great guy for her. Anyway so what about you?" Max said as ate his dinner.

"Wow that’s great! Yeah Alex is a really great guy. Yes I still talk to Alex. He is now a teacher in New Mexico and Maria works at a record company in NY. They both love it and are really happy.

Well I graduated from Harvard and I was really close with Dr. Holt so when they needed help with a research group at Harvard Medical in their molecular Biology department she recommended me for the job. I really love it. However some of the people are really annoying.

"Parker" "Speak of the devil" Liz groaned as a tall man with blond hair came over to her. "Oh Hi Doug" she said smiling a fake smile. "Hi I thought that was you" he said looking at her. "Oh Doug this is um this is" she said panicking.

"Max Evans nice to meet you" Max said as she shook the man’s hand. "Yes well anyway Doug what do you want" Liz sad staring at him.

"Oh can you help me with that lab sometime over the weekend." Doug said. "Um look Doug I can't because... because" Liz sat their trying to think of accuse but her mind had gone blank.

"Because your boyfriend is here and wanted to spend the weekend with you" Max blurted out as Liz breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes that’s right. I'm sorry Doug but this was the only weekend Max could come up and see me. We could go over the lab on Monday." Liz said smiling as Doug’s jaw dropped.

"Wow I am so sorry. I will see you later Liz. Nice to meet you Max.' he said quickly walking away. "That was one of the annoying people from work. Thanks you are a life savor" Liz said smiling. "No problem Liz" Max said smiling.

“So your single?” Max said raising eyebrow. “Yes and you?” Liz said hoping he would say yes. “Yes why interested?” he said giving her a boyish look.

“Sorry if you must know I have a reputation of dating tall, dark ,and handsome men who just randomally show up at my door step and by dating you it would just mess things up” she said smiling.

“Dame I thought I had a shot” He smirked as Liz and him laughed. They then finished up dinner and walked back to the car as the rain came pouring down around them.
-----------------------
"So what ever happened to you and Tess Harding? Liz said sipping her tea as her and Max sat at the kitchen table.

"Tess Harding sad story really. One night over the summer Tess got really drunk and so I drove her and some of her friends home from a party.

Later that night I went back to see if she was ok. When I came to her room the door was slightly open and I saw her making love to Kyle Valente." Max said as his mind drifted deep in thought.

"Oh Max I am so sorry." Liz said softy. "Anyway it turns out her and Kyle had been seeing each other for quite sometime everyone knew except for me.

I broke up with her a few days later right before I left for college. I never mentioned to her about seeing her and Kyle together. But I did tell her that she needed help and had a drinking problem.

I told her to send my regards to Kyle. Later that night I talked to her father and told him about his daughters drinking problem and a week later she was on the road to recovery and being sober. But it hurt a lot. I mean she wasn't a bad person just had a lot of problems. I haven't talked to her since." Max sighed

"Wow that was really caring of you to do that. I mean after all she did to you. Hopefully she is happier now because of what you did." Liz said softly.

"I am sure she is" Max said smiling. The rain was coming down hard as it pounded against the window. "Max do you remember the Delaney party?" Liz said looking into her teacup. "Yes" he said looking into her eyes. "And how you kissed me?" Liz said looking at him.

"Yes" He said softy. "Was it something more?" Liz said looking up at him with big eyes. "I am not sure?" Max said as he got up from his chair.

"What do you mean your not sure?" Liz said getting up from the table confused as she placed her cub into the sink. "Look Liz it was 8 years ago. We were 18 and made a lot of mistakes back then" Max said watching her.

"Oh so it was a mistake! A mistake then how do you explain this?" Liz cried as she grabbed her yearbook and pulled out Max's letter "Or was that a mistake as well!" she cried as she looked deep into Max's eyes as tears filled hers.

"Liz" Max said staring at the piece of paper in her hand.

"Tell me Max! Tell me it was all a dream, a lie, that you never loved me, and how for the past 8 years of my life that it was a mistake me pining away for you! And how you lead me along just like Tess used you! Tell me Max!" she said throwing down the letter and turned her back towards the kitchen counter.

"Liz when was the last time you were kissed. I mean really kissed?" Max said as he leaned over her. "What does that have to do with it? I can't remember." she whispered turning to look up at him. "Liz for eight long years I have waited for this." Max said as he leaned in as Liz moved away.

"I think you should go" Liz said looking up at him. "Ok" he nodded and gathered up his things. She then opened up the door. "Thank you Liz for dinner. It was nice to see you again." Max said looking at her one last time.

"You too. Take care" she said her voice soft and shacking as she closed her door and walked into the center of the empty living room and cried.
-----------------------
Five minutes later there was a knock as she dried her eyes and opened the door.

"My car broke down and I don't have a place to stay. Can I stay here?" Max said as he stood in the doorway-dripping wet from the rain, as Liz stood looking at him.

However Max didn't wait for Liz's answer as he pulled her into a passionate kiss as they held each other tight in the empty apartment while the sound of thunder was heard from outside as the rain came pouring down along the apartment windows.

Chapter Seven

Rain came crashing down in fierce streaks as it hit the window pain causing it to rattle with the force of the wind as two lips came cashing into each other causing fireworks to burst inside of them while thunder light up the sky.

"Liz it wasn't a mistake. I don't regret writing the letter. The only mistake I made was that we weren't together all of these years." Max said breathlessly as they broke from their kiss.

"Your here with me now. I am so sorry I yelled it's just that I can't believe you are here! Max I missed you! " Liz said softly as she pulled him close for another kiss.

They stayed like that in there own little world enjoying what they had longed for eight years ago as their souls came to life.

"Now take off those wet cloths" Liz said as she looked up into his eyes.

"This wouldn’t be an excuse to see me naked would it?" Max said smirking. "Liz smiled and laughed. "No your freezing and I don't want you to get sick." She said pulling away.

"You can take a shower to get clean." Liz smiled as she took off Max's jacket and hung it up. "Here my pj's should be in here. Max said picking up a black bag he had dropped when he hand come into the apartment and handed it to Liz.

"How’s the car?" Liz said as she placed his bag into her bedroom. "I am not sure it won't start. I am going to call in the morning." he said following her.

"The bathroom is to your right. Everything you need should be there." Liz said showing Max. "Thanks Liz I really appreciate this. I am sorry for just staying but my car and all." Max said shyly.

"Max don’t worry about it. I am glad you are here." she said smiling. "I will see you in a few minutes." Max said as he closed the door.
-------------------------
In a few minutes Liz could hear the shower running as she went to her chair and opened up Max's bag. She eventually found his Pj's on the bottom. And pulled out a pair of gray sweat paints. She couldn't find a shirt.

"God help me. Max shirtless in my apartment. Let alone naked right now in my shower." she though as a mental picture of Max in her shower came into view.

"Get a hold of yourself Liz. You hardly know him. Eight years is a long time and you have so much to catch up on. But that kiss was like out of this world. Dame that man can kiss....

Maybe him staying here wasn't a good idea. Bu I feel so bad with the car and everything and god he smells so good." Liz thought, as she smelled on of his shirts as she rummaged through this luggage.

"No he is just spending the night. It will be fine." she said shacking her head as she placed Max's bag down on a chair.
------------------------------
The water felt good against Max's skin as he started to relax. The hot shower was just what he needed after a long day of travel.

"I still can't believe I am here. Here in Liz Parkers Apartment and in her shower no less! He thought to himself. By now the chill in his bones was warming up.” I wish Liz was here to warm me up" he said as a mental picture of Liz in the shower came into view.

"Max get hold of yourself. You barely know this girl. Well you do but not on a deep level. I mean it's been eight years and we have a lot to catch up on. Maybe I can just be her friend and start off slow.

Yeah we will be friends. Friends pulse. Wow that woman can kiss. I never felt my blood boil of feel so alive from just a kiss. Aw who am I kidding just be friends that’s impossible. Maybe I shouldn't have stayed but my dame car. Out of all the days.

Then why do I feel like I am in a dream that I am going to wake up from This is crazy meeting up with Liz Parker after all these years. Maybe fate had other plans."Max thought as he got out of the shower and got a towel.
----------------------------
Liz crouched down and zippered Max's bag only to be blinded by the most gorgeous sight she ever saw as Max came into the room in nothing but a towel. "Oh I..I was..just leaving" she said breathlessly as her jaw dropped.

She could feel her cheeks turning red as she quickly left the room and closed the door letting out a sigh.
-------------------------
Max later emerged dressed in gray sweat paints and a blue t-shirt with yellow writing that said property of West Roswell High School Athletics.

"Oh my god you still have that" Liz said in shock.

"Yeah what can I say it grew on me. It's a memento of when I was on the wrestling team freshman year. I only did it for one year because I hated it. But I always loved the shirt." Max said as he sat down next to Liz who was sitting down at the kitchen table dressed in green plaid pajama paints and a black tank top.

"So do you have any mementos of the good old days?" Max said looking into her eyes. "Actually I do. But it's packed away in my bedroom come on" Liz said as she grabbed Max’s hand and pulled him into her room.
-----------------------
Max sat on Liz's bed while she sat across from him as a huge box was on the bed full of pictures, awards, and other odds and ends. "And this is a picture of Alex and I at the Prom. Funny story. Alex asks this girl Launna and she said ok. He meets her at one of the party's The Whits played at so she hangs out with the band.

Nice girl right anyway Prom rolls around and Alex asks his friend Markos so who are you taking to Prom Markos said Launna.Alex said 'oh I know a Lauanna as well. That’s cool.'

It turns out that they have the same date. Alex doesn’t' find this out until last mintue. He gets into a big fight with Markos

Markos takes Lauanna to the Prom Alex calls me up last minute asking if I would go with him. I didn’t have a date and he is my best friend so why not. We get there and are having a great time.

I meet up with your sister Alex tells her what happened. So she and Alex go over to Markos table and pretend that she is Alex's date. Markos was shocked Launna was taking aback as well.

Alex and Isabel spend most of the night together. She said she saved him from her date Malamoot who was hanging out with most of the jocks as well. It was great. Markos eventually said to Alex how sorry he was and that Launna was such a bitch to him.

They now laugh about the whole thing."Liz said smiling as Max looked at the picture of Liz dressed in a long black dress her hair loose tendrils around her face with red roses on her arm as Alex stood behind her dressed in a black tux.

"I think I saw you that night?" Max said looking into her brown eyes. "You did we said hi to each other before they announced prom King and Queen. Liz said recalling the past memory.

"That’s right yeah I think Maria took a picture of us." Liz said rummaging through her box. "Here it is" she said as her and Max looked at the picture of the two of them with their arms around each other shoulder smiling.

"Yes I do remember this. Maria was yelling for us to get closer to each other before he took it." Max said laughing. Liz smiled "yeah it was pretty funny" she said before taking the picture and placing it back into her box.

"Oh look I have another picture of you as well." Liz said taking a picture out and handed it to Max. "King for the day" he smirked as he looked at the picture of him and Tess wearing their prom King and Queen crowns and sashes.

"Wow I can't believe you have this. To be honest with you I hated Prom. It was so overwhelming especially since Tess and I were West Roswell Highs famous couple. How that got started I will never know." Max said looking at the picture as his mind drifted.

"I had to spend the whole night listening to her friends gossip about everyone and what they were wearing. My sister was fed up and looked for Alex. So I was stranded there with out even my sister to talk to.

Then Kyle comes up to me, and said "So Evans tonight’s he night" and nudges my arm. "Tonight’s the night for what?" I said looking at him confused. "Smart Evans playing it cool. Have fun" he said raising his eyebrows before running to his jock friends.

"Later I find out after over hearing some girls taking that Tess and I were going to sleep together on Prom night." Max said as he looked at Liz.

"But you did? Right? Didn't you?" Liz said trying to figure it out. "Liz don't believe every rumor you hear." Max said smiling. "Turns out by the time we got to the Valenti Party Tess was too plastered she drags me to Kyle’s room and tried to sleep with me but ended up passing out on his bed.

Next day she wakes up I am sleeping on the floor to make sure she was ok during the night and she can't remember so she makes up this rumor that we had sex and that we are like do it all the time. I wanted to kill her. But by that point it had spread and everyone knew." Max said looking up at Liz.

"So you didn't?" Liz said looking at him with innocent eyes.

"No Liz I never slept with Tess" Max said smiling as Liz breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh I mean I know you never would of. But still I mean you can never tell these high school rumors and everything." Liz said rambling as a smile crept across her face.

Max laughed and then reached up and kissed her. "What was that for?" Liz said in shock. "No reason just for being you" he said smiling as he kissed her again. "So Max how many woman did you actually sleep with?" Liz said pulling away.

"No one. You? I mean guys. How many guys?" Max said smiling. "Well there was this one guy. He was a former classmate of mine. A lawyer actually who was in Boston one rainy night and his car broke down so he had to spend the night." Liz said cloyingly.

"Oh really Why Miss Parker I had no idea." Max said raising an eyebrow. "Shh it will be our little secret." Liz said softly placing a finger to Max's lips.

"Your secrets safe with me I won't tell." Max said smiling as Liz kissed him hard as Max wrapped his arms around her as he place her down onto the bed. Max started kissing her neck while Liz threaded her hands through his hair as the thunder rumbled just like the burning passion inside them.

Liz then captured Max's mouth in a sweet passionate kiss and they held on tight. "Liz" Max sighed as he cupped her face with his hands. "You don't know how long I waited for you." Liz said softy as their mouths danced.

"Are you sure?" Max said looking deep into Liz's eyes fire of passion burned bright. "Yes" she nodded slightly as they kissed each other hard as tumbled a cross the bed holding on to each other and then crash a flash of lighting was heard as the box was knocked off the bed.

Max and Liz broke from their kiss and looked up. "Oh know" Liz said springing up from the bed. The box lay next to the bed as scattered pictures and papers lay everywhere. "Here let me help." Max said as he and Liz collected the fallen objects and placed them back into the box.

"Thanks." Liz said as she placed her box back in her closet. "Maybe we should take a step back Liz. I mean this is all new to us and it's been so long since we last saw each other. And I never felt this way before. I never felt so alive and scared at the same time. " Max said looking up at her in the dim lit room.

"I know I am confused as well. I think we should wait. I mean we have all the time in the world for that right?" Liz said looking up at Max with concern.

"Yes." Max said giving her a tender kiss as they both smiled. "Well it's late and my furniture hasn't gotten here yet so we are going to have to share my bed." Liz said looking up at him as her heart melted at the sight of him.

"Ok" Max said as he pulled the covers down. "You can sleep on top" Liz said feeling her self blush as an image of Max on top of her came into view. "I..I mean on top of the covers" Liz said all embarrassed.

"I know what you meant" Max said laughing as Liz relaxed. "Here lie down" Max said as he tucked Liz into bed lacing sweet kisses along her face and neck as she laid in the bed. "Max" Liz sighed as he pulled the covers over her and kissed her one last time.

He then got on top of the blankets. "Good night Liz" Max said looking down at her. "Good night Max" Liz said as she turned onto her side.

Max sat in bed laying awake listening to the sound of rain drops on the window as he sighed replaying the day in his head and how it was the most amazing day he had had in years. He never felt so at home with this amazing woman.

A ghost from his past come back to haunt him after all these years destined to set his soul on fire and make him feel alive. How funny life works sometimes. He smiled to himself and then closed his eyes as he drifted off to sleep.

Chapter Eight

Rain pounded lightly as thunder rumbled in the wee hours of the morning until the sun burst forth with it's golden rays making the morning dew glisten in it's light.

Max sighed as he snuggled into his pillow and sighed. Only it wasn't his pillow he was cuddling to but rather Liz's neck as he buried his face in her hair.

Liz blinked her eyes open feeling Max's hot breath against her neck as his arm draped around her holding her close as they spooned in the bed.

"I'm so sorry" Max said waking up pulling his arm away when he realized it was Liz he was holding and not his pillow. "I had no idea." He said shyly.

"It's ok. I kind of liked it, it was nice to wake up to someone holding me." Liz said smiling. "Thanks" Max whispered. She looked like an angel Max thought as the sun light shown on her face making he look radiant and glowing with beauty as she smiled.

"I definitely could get used to waking up to this everyday" Max thought to himself as he threaded his hands though her long brown hair as she looked down on him.

Liz then bent down and kissed him. "I just wanted to make sure I wasn't still dreaming." She whispered as Max smiled. "Don't worry I am not going anywhere." Max said as he sat up and then remembered his broken down jeep.

"Oh yeah I should call about the car." Max said as he got up and made his way into the kitchen. "Here is the phone book. You can all and then I am taking you out to breakfast I know of a great place." Liz said handing Max the phone book.
--------------------
"Great so you will call after you look at it and the tow truck will take it to the garage. Thanks I am at 120 Chestnut Hill Drive Apartment D. Bye" Max said as he click the phone off.

"What did they say?" Liz asked, as she emerged dressed in jeans and a long sleeve button down black shirt.

"That they are picking it up and will call me to tell me what’s wrong." He said as he closed the phone book.

"Good get dressed then. I mean I normally don't get unexpected guests just drop in on me and so the least I could do is to take you out for a nice breakfast." Liz said as she looked into his eyes.

"Thanks Liz I really appreciate it. It looks like I will get to see some of Boston after all." he said as he left and got dressed.
----------------------------
"Wow you do that too?" Max said in shock as Liz poured some Tabasco sauce on her eggs. "It's the only way to eat them. Here" Liz said as she handed Max the bottle. "Yeah for years Michael thought I was crazy and would make fun of me for it." Max said as he poured the hot sauce on his eggs.

"Yeah same with Maria of course though she never admitted that she actually liked the taste she dose like things sweet and spicy." Liz said as she ate her breakfast.

"How is Maria? I haven't seen her in years." Max said thinking back to the crazy girl who dressed outrageously and was lead singer of The Wits.

"She is doing really well, yeah she is still as crazy as ever but it's one of the things I love about her. She is working at a recording studio in NY and loves her job.

She is still dating Michael after all these years but you already knew that. Yeah they are really happy. But don't you see Michael a lot so you must of seen Maria at some point?" Liz said trying to piece the puzzle together.

"Oh I do see Michael when I can. But it's hard with work and everything. Aside from that though we have remained really close over the years and he is the only person I really keep in touch with from high school.

He was one of the unique ones that you know you are going to be friends forever while the others you lose touch with as the years go on." Max said as he sipped his coffee.

"Or you meet up with again eight years later" Liz said as Max and her laughed.

"Alex and Maria were like that for me. I always could count on them. The three of us seem to share this unique bond. However Alex's bond of friendship is more he would do anything for us. It's what makes him such a sweet guy. Do you know he liked me at one point?" Liz said as Max looked at her surprised.

"Really?" "Yeah back in like 3rd grade he had this crush on me and then we became friends in 5th grade. He eventually told me at the summer before 9th grade that he liked me all these years. So we went out." Liz said as she took a bit of her toast.

"Wait you dated Alex Whitman!" Max said in shock. "Yeah but it was more like hanging at his house watching movies or checking out the local bands downtown.

We held hands but that was it, we didn't even kiss. So by the end of the summer Alex discovered Isabel Evans your sister and we just thought it was best we stayed friends. We were always better friends then boyfriend and girlfriend. So what about you?" Liz said looking Max deep into the eyes.

"Lets see it was the summer of 7th grade Vicki Delaney and I. Yes Vicki Delaney. She lived up the block from me and we would ride bikes to each other’s house after school. It was more like the whole block was one big family we all hung out together.

But Vicki and I were different we like to do some adventurous things. We spent the whole night in the desert one time. Our parents killed us the next morning. They thought we could of died and grounded us for a week, but we didn't care it was worth it we stayed up all night climbing the rocks and chasing shooting stars." Max said as he and Liz played the check and left.
-------------
They walked though Boston Commons enjoying the beautiful weather as they continued their conversation.

"Vicki kissed me once but that was it just a kiss. Anyway we figured out we were better friends then anything else. But she always wanted to set me up matchmaking was like a hobby for her. So she had this friend Tess Harding who had this major crush on me one night came with us out to the desert.

That was the night I meet her. She was really sweet and nice. We talked about school and stuff and then she kissed me out on the rocks that night. After that we were inseparable. It was right before we entered high school she fell into the wrong crowd and I fell right in with her.

We used to drink in her basement and have make out parties and go to football and basketball games she was friends with ever one on he team and they thought I was a cool enough guy so they accepted me. It was fun while it lasted then high school came.

It felt like I had so much pressure on me being I was popular and Tess put a lot of pressure on me as well while she was sinking deeper and deeper into depression. I felt trapped half the time that I could never be myself.

Vicki however she was different and was a good friend though it all and stood by me. She was friends with my sister so we stayed in touch. Sorry I didn't mean to go on and on about the horrors of high school." Max said as he held Liz's hand as they walked.

"It's ok. It's nice to know that their are friends who care. So your first kiss was Vicki wow that’s funny. No Vicki was a sweetheart. I am glad it wasn't Tess." Liz said as Max looked at her. "Yeah me too." Max said.

"Did you ever have a kiss that made you feel like it was fireworks on the 4th of July?" Liz said she let go of Max's hand and walked in front of him. "Once I saw them once. Why who was your first kiss with?" Max said tying to catch up with her.

Liz then turned her head and smiled "It was you" she said as she looked at Max before she turned and walked faster while Max ran and then grabbed her by the arm as she stopped and turned to look at him.

"Liz you were the fireworks." Max said as Liz smiled as they started walking hand in hand in the commons.

Chapter Nine

The telephone rang and then connected to the sweet sounding voice as it said "Hello" "Hi Isabel it's Alex" Alex said as he smiled while holding the phone close to his ear.

"Alex Whitman How are you?" Isabel said sounding happy to hear his voice. "I am doing great. Things are going really well. My class is great and I really enjoy teaching music to them. Anyway it's nice to hear your voice again. How are things?" he said as he walked around his apartment.

"Great business is going well but it's crazy. I have to go to a fashion show for a few days in LA. So I am busy getting ready for my trip." Isabel said as she placed her cloths in her suitcase.

"Quick question have you spoken to your brother lately?" Alex said hoping to gain some info for Liz.

"No I haven't. He lives in NY now. I hardly hear form him he is so busy with work. He is a lawyer there. Sometimes I think he works too much." Isabel said as she leaned the phone against her neck while she rummaged through her cloths hanging up in the rod.

"Oh speaking of NY I was wondering if you would like to come with me to NY. Maria sent me an invite to see Michaels exhibit being held at the Met some time next week I think?" Alex said trying to remember the date of the exhibit and forgetting all about Liz as he waited for her answer.

"Sure Alex I would love to. Look I know it's been a while since we have seen each other but I was wondering if you would like get together tonight for coffee. My flight leaves tomorrow morning and I would love to catch up." Isabel said as she place the last of her cloths into her suitcase.

"Sure I loved to. Yeah I missed seeing you as well." Alex said and then he sighed cupping the phone and whispered "Thank you God" as he jumped up and down with excitement.

"Alex you still there?" Isabel said hoping he didn't hang up "Yeah, yeah I am still here" he said breathlessly.

"Ok look meet me around 8 you remember where my apartment is right?" Isabel said closing her suitcase.

"Of course" Alex said happily. "OK then meet me at my place and we can go I know a great place. I can't wait to see you Alex. Isabel said smiling.

"Same here. OK I will see you at 8 then bye Isabel" Alex said beaming.

"Bye Alex" Isabel said laughing as she clicked her phone off.

Quincy Market was in full swing with weekend shoppers as they hurried along the cobble stoned streets. Max and Liz had spent most of the morning shopping and exploring the different stores as they walked along the open square.

"Aren't they beautiful. They are my favorite" Liz said as she bent down to smell a bunch of white roses at one of the flower carts. "Why are white roses your favorite?" Max said looking at the different colored roses.

"Well when I was little my Grandma Claudia always would have them in her house. I always thought they were the most beautiful flower and was fascinated by them. Whenever I would visit I would always run to her bedroom and smell them and make sure they were well kept.

She was an incredible woman my grandmother very adventurous and wrote many books on science. She said I reminded a lot of her when she was young. We were really close. I was devastated when she died.

Every time I saw a white rose it always reminded me of her and my childhood memories and how she loved me very much. So to me when I see a white rose I see love in it's purist form." Liz said as she bent down and breathed in their sweet sent one last time before walking away.

"My Grandpa and I were close like that. me, my Dad and I would go camping and fishing one weekend over the summer. It was a tradition. I loved it; it would be the highlight of my summer. It was incredible being in the woods and seeing all those stars light up at night.

My Grandpa taught me a lot about astronomy and how to fish and work a boat. It would be great we would catch fish and grill them on an open firer and would stay up all night trading ghost stories and talking about life.

One time we were out on the boat during the fourth of July and could see the fireworks from the water. It was an incredible sight. After he died I really missed those days camping.

We had some of our best talks during that weekend. So I have always felt a strong connection to the stars and the outdoors because of him." Max said as they walked the streets.

"Do you want to go back to the apartment? I have some great pictures of me and my grandma when I was little and some of the outdoor adventures we went on." Liz said looking up at him.

"Sure" Max said as he hailed a taxi.
---------------------
For the rest of the afternoon Max helped Liz unpack and get her apartment settled while they traded stories about their childhood. Her furniture had arrived and they tried to figure out the best way to lay out each room as they moved pieces around until it was perfect.

"I say we make quite a good team" Max said as he and Liz looked at the finished apartment in all it's glory. "I think so. Wow it looks incredible. Thank you so much." Liz said smiling.

"I was nothing. Now get dressed." Max said looking at her. "Why?" Liz said trying to figure out what he was up to.

"I am taking you out to dinner to celebrate this joyous occasion of moving into your new apartment. I was once in Boston during my college days and know of a great place. Oh and wear a dress." Max said as Liz looked at him and smiled.

"Really you were in Boston before. I didn't know that?" Liz said looking into his eyes.

"There is a lot you don't know about me. I have my secrets." He said smirking.

"So do I" Liz said as she whispered into his ear before she left and closed her bedroom door to change leaving Max breathless as he leaned against her closed door.

Chapter Ten

Liz emerged from her room dessed in a dark low cut red dress that had thin straps making the shape of V's and they threded down her bare back. her hair was losly pined up so that one could see the beauty of her neck and back.

Max turned and saw the most beautiful sight in frount of him. "How could it be that she could managed to be more beautiful then she already was" He thought as his eyes glanced up and down her body.

"Told you I have my secrets" Liz said smiling as she turned to grap her bag as Max almost lost it seeing her beautiful bare back in the light.

"You certinally do" Max whispred loosening his collar a little on his olive green button down shirt as he felt his body heat rise. "Dame I shouldn't of wore this suit" he thought as he adjusted his tie. He was wearing his brown colord suit the on he had worn before he left for Boston.

"You look icredible Liz" He said as she turned an smiled. "Thanks so do you. Now where are you taking me?" She said as she put her coat on. "Oh you will see." Max said as they left the apartment.
-------------------------
The resturant was beautiful as Max and Liz we seated. "Your finest champain" Max told the waiter bfore he left. "Max" Liz said looking up at him. "Only the best for you" He said smiling.

"Max you really don't have to do this" Liz sighed "I know I want to" he said reaching across the table as he took hold ofher hand. "So how did you know about this place anyway? It's gorgeous!" Liz said as she looked outside to the water.

"Vicki Delaney actually invited me to her college Senior formal and it was held here. She was out of luck and needed a date so she invited me. We had a great time so I knew it would be the prefect place." He said as he stared at Liz's radient beauty in the candel light.

"What?" Liz said as she looked up at him. "Oh nothing. So how are your parents?" Max said as he shook his head breaking his trance.

"My parents are doing well.My mom still works though not as much. She enjoys spending time home. My dad still owns the Crashdown Cafe. Business is going well It's busy as usual esp with the tourest season and all.

I am so happy I don't have to watress there ever again. I mean it was fun being with Maria after school but it was so crazy I so so happy I never have to wear that horrible uniform ever again." Liz said remembring how embarrassing it was to wear the horrible blue green and silve alien apron complete with an antenia head band.

"I actually liked the uniform" Max said smirking as Liz laughed. "Yeah you would! I used to get teased so bad from everyone in our class who would go there after school. Somedays I hated to work esp the night shift. But then you would always be there so it wasn't so bad." Liz said smiling.

"Yeah my mom hated me going there almost everyday after a while she just accepted it and would let me and my sister go. Do you remember the night I came over after you finised work." Max said as the waiter returned with their dinner and champain.

Once the waiter left they both started talking again. "Of course how could I forget. You came over to go over the bio lab with me. It took us forever to figure out that tke home midterm." Liz said remembering a night when her and Max drank coffee and plunghed into the world of science.

" Yeah your dad was yelling at us for the past half and hour when we went over the eleven O'clock mark saying how it as a school night and that I should go home." Max said as he watched the candel light flicker in her eyes.

"Yeah but the truth was my dad was saying in his weid way that he liked you. Hows your family?" Liz said as she ate her dinner.

"My family is doing really well since my parents moved to Santa Fe the law business has realy picked up. My mom loves the city and my sister loves her job as a fasion magizine edtior. It's hard not seeing them with the distance and everything. I miss them a lot. but with work andethig it' hard." Max said as his mind wondered.

Liz reached over and squeezed is hand. "I know I miss my family as well." She said looking into his eyes smiling.
------------------------
Dinner was over with and Max and Liz were eating clocloate cover strawberries and enjoying the lovely evening.

"Oh we never opened the champain" Liz siad eyeing the green bottle. Max poped the cork and filled the glasses. "What should we toats to?" Liz said as she held up her glass as the golden liquide bubbled inside.

"Here is to distant memories,to old friends, and new beginings." Max said "Here's to fate and destiny" Liz said as they clincked glasses and drank he sweet liquade.

They then both looked into each other's eyes as the candles glowed making their eyes dance and flicked with firer.

"Do you want to get out of here?" Liz whispered as she rubbed her fingers along Max's hand. "I thought you never ask" Max sighed as the two paid for the check and quickly left the resturant.
